Youtube daily report Dec 5 2018

Welcome back fandom In this video we will discuss about dragon

ball heroes episode 7 and the battle between goku ultra instinct and cumber

In the preview of episode 6 we seen goku activating the state of gods Ultra Instinct against the

evil saiyan cumber and both the saiyans clashes with each other and in the beginning of the

battle goku easily overwhelmed cumber by the power of ultra instinct but the question is

can he really stop the evil saiyan cumber with ultra instinct?

we know what happened with goku in tournament of power after using ultra instinct against

jiren the gray Yes i am talking about the toll of ultra instinct

which punished goku body during the tournament of power and If we look back at the battle

scenes between cumber and goku ultra instinct from the preview then there's something we

didn't notice and the thing is cumber didn't lose the battle even after goku fought with

him in ultra instinct.

Cumber is surely taking damage from ultra instinct but he didn't lose completely and

i don't think goku can handle ultra instinct for too long

So what can happen next?

Goku is overwhelming cumber with the power of ultra instinct and on the other hand cumber

is using his full power too which will drain his stamina and this is the key to make him

weak...

Goku maybe lose ultra instinct or get a toll again just like tournament of power again

but because of his attacks cumber will lose his stamina and won't be in the same power

level he is at now

Ultra instinct goku will make cumber weak before he lose ultra instinct again and then

cumber will fight again but due to losing his stamina in a massive amount against ultra

instinct he won't be that strong he was before and then goku with super saiyan blue kaioken,

vegeta with super saiyan blue and trunks with his super saiyan 2 will take the charge against

a weak cumber and they will defeat him

Comment down what do you think about this battle between ultra instinct goku and cumber

and also do you think vegeta will transform into his super saiyan blue evolution?

Why I Didn't Achieve Financial Freedom Through Investing in Property - Duration: 9:21.

A lot of you were interested to know why I didn't achieve financial freedom through investing

in property and why it actually achieved it through creating my own businesses instead.

This is something that came out of the episode that I did on how I achieve financial freedom

at 28.

I'll leave the links to that in the description down below, but yeah, a lot of people were

curious as to why didn't I achieve financial freedom through property and to be honest,

when I started out on this journey, I did think that property would be the way to get

me towards financial freedom.

When I was 16, I was rating property, books and magazines.

I was fascinated with property primarily for this idea of passive income and positive cashflow

so that I could achieve financial freedom.

I had the goal of being financially free by 30, which I did achieve the.

Now I'm 30.

I'm again not financially free because expenses have gone up and business income has gone

down, so maybe I didn't achieve my goal after all on back on the grind at the moment, but

I always thought that property would be the way that I would achieve financial freedom.

I was always certain of that, but I think I got a bit of my dad's blood in me, so my

dad has worked one day a week basically for the last 30 years.

He works as a journalist and he was working full time on track to become an editor of

a newspaper.

My parents had their first child, which is my sister Sarah, and my mom who's quite an

intellectual woman, decided that she didn't want to be a stay at home mom, so my parents

talked about it and my dad decided that he would be a stay at home dad.

He decided to move down to one day a week.

My mum went back to work full time, but dad's worked one maybe two days a week for most

of his life and he's a very happy and relaxed person.

He was never.

His goals would never to be extremely rich, but he was always extremely loving and caring

and things like that, and I think that kind of rubbed off on me in the fact that my life,

I've never had ambitions to be extremely rich, had ambitions to be a millionaire.

I've had ambitions to be financially free, but I've never really had ambitions to be

exuberantly wealthy.

To be someone who just drives those fancy cars who owns those mansions, who has the

businesses worth a billion dollars, etc.

That's never been my goal, has always been my goal to pursue things that I'm passionate

about, to achieve financial freedom so I can do what I want with my time, but when I achieved

that, I didn't stretch and I didn't try for more.

I was jusT really happy with that base level of income.

So when it comes to property, I had the problem in that I didn't really want to work as much

as was required in order to get loans.

So when I originally tried to buy a property, I had a casual job where I was working in

a couple of days per week.

I'd saved a deposit, but I wasn't able to buy because I wasn't able to borrow any money

and there was a bunch of different scenarios in my life where I was extremely close to

purchasing property, but it just didn't happen mainly because of lending issues.

I had a property that I was about to buy and then the valuation on that property came back

a little lower than the asking price and I wasn't able to come up with the extra money

required in order to purchase that property.

That was probably eight years ago now or something like that.

And then I just got passionate about internet marketing.

I got passionate about business.

I started pursuing that and I saw that this was actually a shortcut or a faster way to

achieve financial freedom.

And robert kiyosaki talks about it in his books.

That how he achieved financial freedom was he built businesses and then invested in real

estate.

So he built the businesses in order to spin off that extra cash flow in order to create

excess sums of money and then use those extra x excess sums of money to go ahead and invest.

In real estate, and so that became my goal was to do that, was to build a business and

then use that business to then go ahead and invest in real estate, but along the way I

discovered that I didn't actually need the real estate in order to become financially

free.

What I discovered was that there was ways to make passive income online that will just

deliver me returns every single month and income every single month without me needing

to work, so this was stuff where I would put in the work in the beginning and I would work

hard, but then after I did the work, then the websites, then the businesses will generate

me passive income and so my focus shifted from I need to invest in property to be financially

free to.

I can be financially free through my businesses and so that's what I pursued.

That's the goal that I pursued.

That's the goal that I achieved at 28 when I became financially free.

Now at 30, not being financially free anymore because my income's gone up and my businesses

have gone back a little bit.

So I just have a bit of a gap between what I'm earning passively and what I need to be

financially free, so I need to bridge that gap, but learning what I have now and being

back in this situation where I'm on the grind trying to achieve financial freedom.

I do now want to go back to robert kiyosaki's plan, which is build businesses and invest

in real estate.

So the initial goal is to build my business back up to the point where I have financial

freedom through my businesses.

The work that I do is still passive in nature, so when I do the work, it generates extra

income and happy days, but I'm not going to stop there.

what I'm going to do now is push further so that my income goes up and then I have a gap

between my lifestyle and the income that I'm earning and that gap and what extra is coming

in or then go ahead towards investing in property and we'll go ahead towards achieving that

longterm financial freedom that I want.

I don't want to end up back in this position where I have to grind and work again.

I would rather just work now, build that up.

Then invest, have that longterm financial freedom.

Really just secure those foundational properties that I've talked so much about two guys that

will then go on to delIver financial freedom for me.

I don't necessarily need financial freedom through my properties instantly today, but

I want to have acquired those foundational properties so that I know my future is secure

and I know that I'll never have to be on the pension.

So why didn't I achieve financial freedom through property?

One reason was just my pure stubbornness and not willing to go to work full time, not wIlling

to climb the corporate ladder.

I was stopping in not wanting to do that.

I wanted to pursue my own online business.

But even when I did eventually do that and work as a pharmaceutical rep and started climbing

the ladder, I discovered that it wasn't for me that I don't fit well in a big company

because I am so creative and um, so headstrong as well.

So I kind of butt heads with management and butt heads with people up against me because

I want to push the boundaries of what's possible where often they just need someone who's goIng

to go in there and just do the job that they need them to do and that's not necessarily

made.

So one of the reasons was that inability to work and to therefore get loans and to save

deposits, to invest in property.

But the other was that I just saw another path to financial freedom that was better

suited to me, to my strengths and who I am and so I passionately pursued that path for

years, working part time online for about seven years before going full time, then going

full time for another three years before achieving financial freedom.

So all apples about a 10 year stretch of working online before I achieve that financial freedom.

And as you guys can see, I'm still doing it and I'm still continuing to work and to grow

my income as well.

So property isn't the only way to financial freedom.

It is a great way to financial freedom, especially if you love your job or you just want to be

an employee and working in a job.

By buIlding a business.

I could create passive income for myself.

If you're an employee, then it's harder to build that passive income through your job

because as soon as you start working, you're not going to be earning money anymore, so

you need to look for outside investment in order to achieve financial freedom and property

can be a great way to do that.

Have a look at your strengths.

What are the best strengths for you and what's the best way for you to pursue financial freedom?

Is it through working in a job and investing in property?

Is that through building businesses and achieving passive income that way?

Or is it through the robert kiyosaki method where you build businesses and then invest

in property to achieve the financial freedom so the businesses aren't passive, but the

properties that you invest in a.

So I encourage you to go out there, find your path, the one that's going to be best for

you.

I found my path and the one that's best for me and now I'm pursuing it with all my effort.

So you go out there, you do.

You be the best version of yourself that you can be.

work hard because nothing comes for free and while you're here, go ahead and check out

the video that I did where I talked about how to achieve financial freedom at 28 if

you haven't checked that out already.

And also there's a video where I talked about what it feels like to be financially free,

which is a lot different to what I thought it was going to be.

Thanks so much for tuning into this episode and until next time, stay positive.

10 WORST Lyrics Ever - Hopsin Edition - Duration: 7:26.

So recently I featured on Isaiah the Playah's channel to talk about cringy rap lyrics, and

it really made me realise how much I missed making fun lists like these based around bad

lyrics.

So I'm bringing this series back, and today we will be looking at Hopsin, a rapper I really

enjoy despite his immature stance in his music and his flaws.

And these flaws definitely have resulted in lines that are either kinda stupid, hypocritical

or just corny.

So with that being said this is CDTV, I'll be answering as many messages on Instagram

as I can after this video goes up, and let's look at the 10 Worst Hopsin Lyrics.

Honourable Mention:

11 - Sag My Pants "and Soulja Boy you got a corny flow, so you can suck my f****** d***

through a glory hole"

NO.

No Soulja Boy slander will be tolerated, 2007 squad staying strong.

That's all.

List:

10 - Hop Is Back "I'm the s*** like I slithered in poo"

I'm tryna figure out the comparison here; does slithering in s*** make you THE s***?

I know, philosophers have been debating it for centuries, but ima say no.

S*** metaphors are already incredibly corny, and this one is up there with the worst of

them.

9 - Don't Tell Smokey Doe (Novi Novak Diss) - "Tell the world how you fake all your

Youtube views, Using Wiz Khalifa's name just to boost you through"

I think we can agree that the last person who should be criticising someone for getting

big off of other artist's names is Hopsin.

One of the main things people know him for is dissing huge artists, unprovoked 99% of

the time.

This was a diss track so it's kinda important that none of the lines were hypocritical,

but this one was.

8 - Happy Ending - The Whole song

A whole song dedicated to Asian massage parlours with a questionable stereotypical imitation

of an Asian accent throughout it.

Truly Hopsin's magnum opus right here, I'm adding it to my s** playlist right now, nothing

to set the mood like a good song about sucky sucky.

I dont even wanna talk about this song seriously again.

Let's just move on.

7 - Fly - "The Matrix is real and you done entered it, It's way too intricate for you

to ever realize it you f****** simpleton"

This is probably one of Hopsin's most condescending sounding lyrics ever.

If someone doesn't understand something, the last way to explain your point of view

is by calling them, and I quote, a "f****** simpleton".

He just sounds like he's putting his own intelligence on a pedestal and talking down

to other people who don't see the world in the same way he does.

It's a terrible ending to an otherwise pretty solid verse.

6 - I Need Help - "all I wanted was just to be cool, hang out with a group of friends

and solve mysteries like I'm Scooby Doo"

What does that even mean?

What mysteries are you referring to solving?

Does solving mysteries with your friends make you cool?

This bar raises a lot of questions and confuses me, I don't even know what this was trying

to say.

5 - Hip Hop Sinister - "call me out on tracks then b**** I'll pound on you like that vending

machine that stole my pack of skittles"

This is one of my favorite Hopsin tracks, it's so brutal and aggressive, and that

George Zimmerman bar is the coldest thing he's ever written, but this one I just played

you is the least threatening one on here.

He threatens other people by saying if they make diss tracks towards him, he'll beat

them up, just like he did to a vending machine that stole his colourful sweets from him.

I'm sorry, but there is no context under which you can mention getting p***** about

a pack of skittles and sound threatening at the same time.

4 - Good Guys Get Left Behind - Whole hook

This Song has to be ironic.

You cannot tell me Hopsin was seriously making an anthem for the "nice guys" of the world.

You can't start a hook off by saying "I should've f***** You when I had the chance

to" and end it by saying "but I'm just a good guy, this pain hurts me so much".

That first line doesn't make you sound like a very good guy at all.

This has to be a joke.

3 - False Advertisement - "they just slide you some cash and you lay on the wee wee"

Hopsin was 31 when he wrote this line.

Let's be clear, no grown man should refer to a penis as a "wee wee".

Seriously, I'd even prefer if you referred to it as a vagina miner, even that's less

corny than wee wee.

Jesus Christ, f****** wee wee.

2 - Ill Mind Of Hopsin 9 - "cause if I see your mom again, this time I will assault the

b****, at least then I'd feel like my banning was justified"

Yikes ok.

So you currently are banned from Australia and can't see your son because your ex accused

you of beating her.

She just won't let you see your child.

But I think the last way to go about remedying that is by saying you actually will assault

her next time you see her.

Sure, from what we've heard she's not making it easy for Hop at all, I can understand

his rage and anger, but saying "im going to beat you up next time I see you" is a

bit of a permanent bridge burner, just guaranteeing that she'll stay blocking you out of her

life.

1 - Money On the Side - "she got a man and I have a girl I know, so everything we do

we just keep it on the low"

Hold up, hold up, so this lyric is on the same album where you get absolutely furious

at your girlfriend at the time cheating on you?

But then in this song, you make it clear that you're having s** with someone else's

girlfriend, even though you know first hand how devastating it would be for her boyfriend

to find out?

And don't say this song isn't from Hop's perspective, because the skit at the start

makes it very clear it is.

It's just kinda massively hypocritical.

It's kinda hard to sympathize with you when you're knowingly putting someone through

the exact same pain

that

you experienced.

PBS Hawai'i - HIKI NŌ Episode #1003 | H.P. Baldwin High - Maui | How to Sign - Duration: 1:26.

About fifteen percent in America are born deaf or have suffered from a level of hearing

loss that affects communication.

People with severe hearing loss communicate using a series of standardized hand signals

known as American Sign Language, or ASL.

Reaching out to these members of the community by using sign language is one way to show

kindness and compassion.

Here is one easy conversation-starter in ASL.

To say "how are you," place both fists together with thumbs up and rolled outwards

to say "how."

Next, point at the person you're addressing to say "you."

Remember that facial expressions are crucial when talking to a person who is hearing impaired.

Now that you have started a conversation, here are some possible responses.

To say "good," place the fingers of your right hand to your mouth, and bring them down,

face-up, on your left hand.

To say "bad," begin with the same,

but end with your right hand facing down on your left hand.

Now that we have shown you the basics, get out there and connect with the deaf community

in your area.

PBS Hawai'i - HIKI NŌ Episode #1003 | Waiʻanae Intermediate - O'ahu | Sustainable Garden - Duration: 2:25.

It's relaxing coming to the garden.

I feel calm, and I get solitude in here, and it's real peaceful.

Wai'anae Intermediate School Special Education teacher Randy Florendo spends a lot of his

school days outside of the classroom.

And quiet, and I can just get in my zone working in the garden.

And when I bring the kids in here, it's exciting.

The Aloha 'Āina Garden in the back of the campus has a greenhouse with many different

kinds of plants, such as taro, eggplant, onion, bananas and tomatoes.

However, the garden is more than just a place with plants.

It's a place that engages students.

When I first started the garden, they said, Oh, are we going garden today?

I said, We'll see, yeah?

And they'll be excited.

And other than that, they wouldn't want to come to school.

So, in one part, it does motivate some of my students to come to school, because they

just love the garden, they like working outdoors.

The garden is special to me, because it's like a second home and it gives me something

to look forward to going to school for.

The garden wasn't always like this.

Three years ago, it was overgrown, the aquaponics system wasn't working.

All you could see was just one big area with weeds when we first started.

Then slowly, we made one small section of our garden, and we kinda was successful with

couple crops we was growing, like kale, tomato, eggplant.

Was small.

Even now, keeping the area clear is challenging.

The weeding is the hardest part of the garden.

That's the most difficult part.

Controlling the weeds and actually trying for get rid of the weeds is one endless battle.

Watch out the kalo.

No damage the kalo, yeah?

The care given to the garden has allowed not just the plants to thrive, but the students

and teachers as well.

It makes me feel good, because like, putting in work, and I feel like we're giving back

to the community with stuff that we grow here.

Majority of the time, they enjoy coming to the garden.

And … they become better people, they become better people.

PBS Hawai'i - HIKI NŌ Episode #1003 | Maui High | Kuleana - Duration: 3:35.

Wow.

Whoo!

To be whole as a person, you need to be whole with nature.

Art, to many, is a universal part of life, something that is as elusive as it is beautiful.

All art fights against time, but most is forgotten as the years carelessly flow by.

To Wailuku, Maui-based artist Philip Sabado, art is just another extension of Hawai'i.

Hawaiian culture … because it's in the 'āina, it's under the brow.

The culture begins under the brow.

And then, Tutu Pele comes up, right, erupts to remind us this is where we are.

And so, why is Hawaiian art so important?

I think because we have a story to tell the world about how the people live.

That could be me.

[CHUCKLE]

In 1977, Philip Sabado was able to leave Maui, and ended up working as a senior art director

for the Bristol-Myers Corporation in Los Angeles, California.

And so, from here …

I was doing TV commercials, I was doing billboards, I was doing

all the things you do for other people.

And here was this hula dancer in kahiko from Molokai that, when I seen that, I realized

I need to paint Hawaiian.

This painting?

From the performance of the Moloka'i hula dancer, Sabado realized that he needed to

go back to his roots.

He decided to move back to the island of Maui to start his career with his passion to paint

Native Hawaiian art.

The great goddesses, gods that Hawai'i used to have, they all had a purpose.

And I think that's where we kinda forget sometimes, our purpose.

Yeah. So, we call it kuleana, right?

And that's what we always have to remember, we're here because we have a responsibility

to try to bring back things.

Going be hard.

[MUSIC]

Regardless, after decades of dedicated artistry, Sabado found his true kuleana.

Kids that I teach here, they go to college, they go to art school.

I've had couple that went to art school already, and they came back,

and they're in the arts.

The impact I want to make is more about what is the next generation,

what are they gonna do?

So, this is the reason why I came back Hawai'i, is really to give back what I know.

So, with that, again, it's almost like the ahupua'a.

You create the cycle, so it just keeps churning.

It doesn't die.

With strong strokes and strong memories, perhaps now, the new artists of Hawai'i will remember

not to forget.

PBS Hawai'i - HIKI NŌ Episode #1003 | Pomaikai Elementary - Maui | Musubi Makers - Duration: 1:37.

Japanese immigrants came to Hawai'i to work on the plantations.

To help ease their move, they brought their culture with them,

and many have become local traditions.

One thing they introduced that has become extremely popular is the musubi,

also known as onigiri.

Onigiri are Japanese rice balls that are commonly found in a triangular shape.

Many people in Hawai'i love easy on-the-go snacks like musubi.

If you want easy snacks that you can take anywhere,

then a musubi could be right for you.

Here are the ingredients you will need: rice, nori, water, and your hands.

Have an adult help you cook the rice.

Wash your hands and leave them wet, so the rice does not stick to your hands.

Take one-third cup of cooked rice, and mold it into a triangle by holding it in one hand,

and cupping your other hand over the top.

Do not form it into a circle, because it could mean bad luck.

And if it is too hard to form with your hands, you may use a mold.

This is where you can get creative.

You could add furikake, nori, ume or salt for your own musubi.

Once you are all packed, you can take it to go.

Find a great place to enjoy and share your musubi.

In Japan, if it tastes good, they say, Oishii!

This is Kayla Wada from Pomaika'i Elementary School, for HIKI NŌ.

PBS Hawai'i - HIKI NŌ Episode #1001 | H.P. Baldwin High - Maui | Madame Donut - Duration: 3:05.

It feels like I'm playing.

I mean, I'm working a lot, but it's also play.

And to be able to do that, it's a gift.

Located in Wailuku, Maui, is Donut Dynamite,

whose owner legally changed her name to Madame Donut.

She grew up in the Philippines, where she learned about hard work.

I lived in a very remote little village.

We actually didn't even have electricity until I was about nine years old.

So, I remember living in the dark, and having oil lamps and such.

Many, many, many years later, I went to culinary school, and one of my pastry chef instructors

was the original pastry chef for the French Laundry, which is a very, very high-end, very

well-respected restaurant.

And they had donuts on the menu.

And to me, if a high-end fine dining restaurant can serve donuts on their menu, there's

no reason why I can't make donuts as well.

Madame Donut uses donuts as a canvas to tell her story.

Basically, it's my story.

I use the donut kind of as a platform or a canvas

to express my art and my life story, in a way.

It sounds trite and corny to say it's made with love, [CHUCKLE] but it is.

It's made with that intention, to make the world a happier place.

[CHUCKLE] I wanted to be that person.

Though Madame Donut enjoys creating donuts, she has trouble finding balance in her life

and building her business.

We're busier, now we need help.

My partner is my husband, and we do most everything ourselves.

What's really difficult is, it's an artisan product, and it's really difficult to transfer

that vision, you know, so for me to have somebody retell that story by them making it, sometimes

something gets lost in translation.

Scaling up in my business is really, really challenging right now, because that means

the busier we are, the more work I have to do, the less sleep I get, the less balance

I have in my life.

Madame Donut finds motivation through her customers and the ability to express her art.

I'm very grateful that I have the space to be able to express myself, through a donut.

It seems so silly, almost.

If I'm gonna lack sleep, it better mean something to me, and it does.

So, I keep going.

It's inspiring to me, to be able to do it.

And people come in here and say they don't even like donuts, but they love what I make.

And how can you not be motivated, you know.

It's an awesome life, I think.

How to make a Kimono Jacket - Mena | Teach Me Fashion - Duration: 8:42.

Hi Guys, Its George from Teach Me Fashion. In today's tutorial. I'm going to be showing you how to make my

'Mena' Pattern, which is a great pattern for all occasions and seasons depending on what fabric you

Choose to use

In today's tutorial, I'm going to be using a brocard fabric which is more of a heavier weight fabric

but you can choose any weighted fabric depending on the occasion you are going to and

if you want all the pattern details check out the below description and

don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel to be the first to find out when I upload another tutorial and

That is it. So let's get sewing

First off

Assemble your pdf pattern

Get your fabric ready by giving it a wash in your washing machine and an iron. If your fabric is wool you just need

to steam it and this will help with any shrinkage in your fabric

Before you cut out your pattern pieces, make sure to read the instructions before cutting it out now

It's time to prepare your binding. Fold the binding in half and iron.

Now it's time to start sewing

Pin your binding to all shoulder edges and side seams for both your back and front pattern pieces

Before you start sewing

make sure you check your machine tension, that your thread color and

thread is correct, that your sewing needle is sharp. And you are using a zipper foot.

Placing your fabric underneath your zipper foot

make sure to sew right up close to the edge of your binding

If you like you can use contrast thread for your top stitching.

For the next step pin your back and front pieces together

making sure that the fabric is right sides together pin in place making sure you line up your

Shoulder and side seams and then you pin.

Sew your seams together using a seam allowance of 1.5 centimeters or 5/8 of an inch

Make sure to back tack at the start and at the end and also remove the pins as you sew

Now it's time to assemble your cuffs. Fold them in half lengthways and iron them.

Then fold them in the other direction and pin together. Make sure that the right sides are together.

Sew a seam allowance of 1.5 centimeters or five-eighths of an inch

Make sure to back tack at the start and at the end making sure that your stitching line is secure

Now it's time for you to iron open all your seam allowances on every single pattern piece

Attach your cuff to your sleeve by placing the cuff inside your sleeve with right ways of fabric together

Line up your seams and pin them in place

Sew your sleeve and cuff together using a 1.5 centimeter or a 5/8 of an inch seam allowance

Remove the pins as you go

Check to see if your seams are aligned

Now it's time to attach your binding to cover the raw edge of your seam allowance of your cuff and your sleeve

Using your zipper foot once again

Make sure to get right up close to the edge of your binding making sure to catch the binding on the other side as well

Take your time

Cut all loose threads put your jacket inside out ready for you to iron

Iron your cuffs pushing the seam allowance inwards towards the body of the jacket

You're nearly finished the next step is to bind the collar and then your hemline

You then have the option to turn back your hem and hand sew it up or leave down showing the binding

Thanks for watching. I hope you found the tutorial easy to follow

PBS Hawai'i - HIKI NŌ Episode #1003 | Konawaena Middle & High - | Dancing Goat Sanctuary - Duration: 3:23.

[GOAT BLEATING]

On the Big Island of Hawai'i, an organic farm is dedicated to helping abused,

orphaned and abandoned goats.

We had a neighbor who brought us a baby goat in the bottom of a bucket, and the Dancing

Goat Sanctuary was born.

We had never met or worked with goats before,

and it captured all of our hearts here on the farm.

And so, Starina, we give her credit for starting the Dancing Goat Sanctuary.

Starina became the first of many rescues at the sanctuary that has provided a safe environment

where neglected animals can thrive.

Some of our largest rescues have actually been from folks in the community who have

been to the farm, and they recognize when an animal is in need and needs help, and they

will give us a call.

And sometimes, people just show up at the gate, and we work with them to help them find

a safe, secure place for the animals that often, they care very deeply for.

Shawna Gunnarson mentors youth in an after-school program called Ka Hana No'eau.

The students learn about sustainability, self-determination, and how to treat animals compassionately.

Good enough?

Most of the goats here are pretty nice, as long as you don't trigger them by touching

them on their nose, 'cause when goats fight with their horns, they usually hit like right

here, and here.

I want students to understand how their actions impact others.

And with animals, we can see this very clearly, because animals are very good about giving

us feedback to our actions.

So, for example, when students come out to the farm and they're waving their arms,

and they're being very loud, the animals have a very obvious reaction to those loud

noises and those uncontrolled actions.

During my time on Ms. Gunnarson's farm, I discovered that my energy levels were way

too high for the animals, and sometimes the other people on the farm, to cope with.

Like, whenever I would approach an animal, they would either scamper away, or like leave

the area slowly so as to not cause my energy levels to spike higher.

That made me realize that sometimes, you need to be calm, and collected, and disciplined

in life in order to get what you wanted.

And so, that applies to all areas, and that's what I learned from the farm.

[CHICKENS CLUCKING]

Students not only learn how to interact with animals, but that animals have social relationships

that humans are not aware of.

Visitors who spend time with the animals learn why animals have developed particular behaviors.

So, they thought he was trying to be aggressive, but he wasn't.

He just wanted to play.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats

its most vulnerable members.

The Dancing Goat Sanctuary emphasizes trust, understanding and patience, setting a path

for both animals and youth to build lasting connections.

Dude, I like that, and positivity is like my drug now.

Ta-mu, ta-mu.

And as you express your body, mm.

Justin, he's a great coach, man.

He's real charismatic, he gets everyone going. You know.

I think Justin is a lot of energy, and he brings a lot to the gym.

He's kinda like…he's super-positive, like in your face positive, and really motivated.

Located in Wailuku, Maui, is personal trainer and motivational speaker, Justin Yanagida,

who owns and operates his gym, Yanagida Fitness.

[MUSIC]

Many people who start because they were athletically gifted, or they had a natural talent for exercise,

or athletics, or sports.

I came from the complete opposite side of the spectrum, where I was forty pounds overweight,

I had chronic asthma, and I had liver disease where I was told I'm not gonna live to see

my thirtieth birthday.

I was just so beaten, battered, destroyed in every sense a human can be, and I almost

committed suicide twice.

And overcoming that depression was probably the most challenging thing I've ever done,

because I had no sense of worth, no value, no self-love, no self-respect.

And overcoming that struggle right there just manifested into me being hyper-grateful.

After relentless bullying and listening to others think, Justin began to train his mind

and body to become immune to what others thought with meditation and practice of gratitude,

by appreciating the little things in life and being thankful for everything and everyone

around him.

Being able to overcome my own physical, emotional and mental struggles helped to inspire me

to want to help other people.

Today, Justin speaks to educate people to

find their purpose and what they want to do in life.

He also speaks to people seeking to have a healthy lifestyle.

I realized I wanted to help people since I was a kid.

All of these different things amounted to being very, very empathetic.

And by being able to be able to empathize with others, I'm truly able to connect on

a heart-to-heart basis.

I realized, by speaking to people's hearts, we can change their lives.

I realized no matter how many people it is, if I can just speak to one person and change

one life, I know I did my purpose there.

Deaf Person in a Hearing Family Part 1 - Thanksgiving Dinner - Duration: 10:21.

E: hey guys it's sign duo here

R: we wanted to sit down and disucss something that doesn't really get a lot of attention

and we want to talk about it

E: and it's really important if you have deaf people

in your family. I know that some of you guys are ASL students or you're

certified to become an ASL interpreter and this and what we talked about

R: not just interpreters but

any profession that requires you to socialize with deaf people.

E: what we talked about in this video is important for you guys to know and be

aware of and it would be really helpful so we're going to get into our story and

talking about it but first if you're not subscribed to our channel

subscribe and turn on notifications it really helps our channel out

R: are you ready to get into it ?!

E:yes

R: if you've been watching our videos for a while you can see that

we are in a deaf and hearing relationship,

and it's amazing!

I've learned so much, that i wouldn't if i wasn't in a deaf and hearing relationship

Don't you agree?

E: Yes I agree!

R: but like everything....

different... or unique,

there ARE some walls (obstacles)

that you have to go through.

R: this is really important if you really want to understand deaf culture.

And how to respect deaf culture.

R: so...

R: one obstacle that i'm talking about is

Holidays!

R: huge obstacle for us as a deaf and hearing couple

E: because of that communication barrier so with us it's very smooth communication

because I learned sign language yadayadayada

R: you're awesome

thank you

but with my family like most of

them they don't know any sign language except now. well my mom she's

learning sign language doing a great job good job mom

R: your mom is actually pretty good now.

She tries really hard to include me in all conversations

which is great.

Even though sometimes she doesn't know the word (sign)

she would spell and stop talking

and then she would ask me the "sign for this word (spell)"

even though the conversation's not as smooth because she would stop to do that

and I really appreciate that

E: and well my dad too now is more deaf aware

R: yeah he maintains eye contact when talking to me

before he would assume that i could read lips from the side

but i can't and now he understands that eye contact is important

E: so good job dad!

with my extended family it's pretty difficult because there is a

huge communication barrier so I don't

R: before we get into this

i just want to make it clear

her family

very nice! very including...

E: sweet disclaimer. Disclaimer. my family is actually very nice

R: so her extended family is very nice,

respectful and involving of me

but there is still THAT communication barrier

because we don't see them that often

so we don't really get enough "practice" trying to communicate

you know? learn how to communicate fluently.

E: so just to explain kind of like what happens on a day like Thanksgiving for

us so we will, you know, know that there is gonna be an event that we have to go

to. Ryan is super nice and I said can you come with me you know it's gonna be

tomorrow at this time blahblah. and he's always like yeah of course I will go he

never like it's like, "ugh I don't want to go" so I really appreciate that about you

you're always willing to try but before we leave and we're getting ready I

can feel like a little bit nerves, you know there's this vibe of

we know what's gonna be expected when we get there. We will hang out we'll

sit together some people be like how are you guys what are you guys doing College

what are you doing? I try to interpret but at the same time

there's like people talking conversations are starting conversations

are ending. I don't know what to include in interpreting and it's very

exhausting too because I want to talk to my cousins and like ask them questions

at the same time

R: of course! you want to be with family and involved in conversations

but it's hard when you're interpreting for me

Because I noticed

your cousins would ask you a question, but then your aunt

asks you a question to ask me

at the same time. and you're like which one do i answer

E: ahhh then we'll have whoever is in charge of cooking says

we're done cooking. come. food's ready and so we get up we go together and we got

food to eat and then we go back and sit down, and again, the same thing talking

conversations and a lot of conversations happening at once and honestly even

today it was kind of like well let's just not be part of the conversation and

we kind of isolate ourselves a little bit

R: yeah yeah it's hard to get out of that mood

when in the beginning it feels anxious

and then the situation gets very... umm..

complicated..?

so.. more people, more talking, more lipreading,

the more my eyes have to be constantly looking everywhere

and process everything

So i have to be kind to everyone, you know

but also at the same time trying to understand

you know?

I tend to- when i don't understand- i make a face like this

I look mad but i'm trying not to do that

you mahan but you've not and I can tell in the beginning we're fine like we have

a lot of energy we can like interpreter talk but then as the night like day or

the event like progresses our energy level like goes down....

R: we eat, we get full, and tired

E: yeah and that means that for you it's exhausting huh? to like try to follow a

conversation

R: yes. mentally, visually, emotionally. YES it is very exhausting

R: i want to make it clear!

physically, how?

eyes.

Understand when eating, a hearing person can look down and listen to conversations

but deaf can't and have to look up constantly

and it hurts the neck!

E: is that why your neck hurt so much?

R: maybe that's why

Awe poor baby

We have dessert and it's like three hours

in and he wants to go home usually or like leave and you know I don't really

get to see my family that often so on my side I want to stay but at the same time

I want to be considerate of Ryan

R: normally I do want to leave after a hour or two

at family events.

Because.. not because I don't like family!

It's just because I'm tired- exhausted

physically, mentally exhausted and I don't want to be rude

I don't want to ignore people but

honestly I just get too tired and I can't really focus anymore

so I rather just leave before I get grumpy or rude you know

So that's why i tend to leave after a hour or two hours

But today i felt like i did a really good job!

I stayed 5 hours today!

I'm progressing

E: yeah

R: normally I try my best to stay because i want to show her

that i want to try and be part of the family

E: well two things. He told me two things that made me tear up because I never

want to hear and say things like that

R: Don't cry on me now

I never knew that before today

Honestly I just learned this today

This is Lexie-Marie Kia-Cox from Wai'anae Intermediate School, for HIKI NŌ.
