the Necron tomb world may appear empty but above the planet there is a
necron sentry pylon strike force Warhammer 40k battle report the
thousand sons return and today they're facing NECRONS!! Nick speaking and welcome to

necrons and I'm playing my crazy necron army list I'm playing Richard
from Capatan Morgan's wargames there's a link to his YouTube channel in the
description below okay so here is my crazy
neeron army list it's a battle forged army in the new Nihilakh dynasty i'm taking
a spearhead detachment heading up the army is a cryptek with a staff of light
and a canopek cloak he's got the warlord trait enduring will
reducing any damage he takes by one and the artifact the veil of darkness
allowing him to teleport across the table once per game and then we've got
the heavy support section so I've got 3 sentry pylons with the death ray and
teleportation matrix I've been got three sentry pylons with
gauss exterminators and three century pylons two with gauss exterminators are
one with a heat ray I'd love to have heat rays on all of the pylons but I
would need another 200 points to do that I've then got an axillary Lord of war
detachment which is the Gauss pylon that comes in at nineteen hundred and ninety
five points and gives me four cps right that's my army let's find out what I'm
facing okay so here we are we have Richard hello Richard and Richard has
brought his thousand sons list he's adding
few units that he's trying out to this list as a few proxies but Rich what have
you got I've got the usual madness in the super-heavy a glory in a battalion
I've got the two demon princes an element
I've been chopped up I've got two units that think I was hiding behind your big
night yeah one no one behind there there yeah I've got 26 angles to come in from
Reserve I've been got7 and my tonnes with fake
faster bows okay and a shaven Bruce Harry he's baaack standard stud even
pistol and then I've got free he'll there and homages right here okay
they ever wonder if their water cannons and heavy stutters right excellent
so it's quite nasty like this of course is an adaptation of Rich's tournament
left stage it's what I'm looking to try yeah and of course we've got my pride on
this so what we've done is we've decided to play the only war missions just to
make things a bit interesting and these are the cards that we drew so we've got
I'm not supposed to see that one we've got deployment so basically two halves
of the table and no restrictions on how far away we are so we are potentially
toe-to-toe with Magnus how about that and the mission is burn and pillage so
we had three objectives in our deployment zones and the idea is we need
to get on to our enemy's objectives and destroy them for a point yeah that's
going to be a bit difficult now Richards put his objectives to right at the back
by the tomb and one on that generator there I've tried my best to get mine in
all positions I've got one on that of Elise one on this bridge any models
going on the bridge if they rolled one they fall into the abyss and die and
then I've got someone up here by my cryptic I had less
powerpoints and Richard so I've got this card here a ruse which I've got to keep
secret until I want to play it or need to play it so there was one other thing
with this mission the person that deploys first know who ends up deploying
first automatically goes first yeah yeah except you are able to try and seize the
initiative if you do this you can just go home now okay
right so it's going to be necrons turn one
okay so necrons turn one and as you can imagine
no movement just a note of interest this Python just here is only a piece of
terrain is not passing my army the small ones are and obviously the forge world
one is okay so these deploy as one or the once down they act as it's more
independent units so go start straight off shooting the big bad boy Magnus so
these essentially pylons here at the front they have the death ray so it's
one shot each strength 12-4 AP and d6 damage so let's get some dice rolling so
the one on the far left they're rich we need a three gets the bullet out
strength 12 so freeze yeah and then that's minus 4 AP that's right - you
don't like it ok d6 damage a6 not a bad start from the first one okay
so I'm going to go straight on to the second one exactly the same threes
phrase gets you're safe and then the third one threes misses but the hillock
re-roll the ones hits threes needed that's one safe
saved okay so that's those three done I've done six damage okay so next up
we've got three girls exterminator pylons those have a 40 inch gun heavy to
strength 12 - for a P and D 6 damage but this time if you're shooting at a fly
unit you get +1 to your dice roll if it doesn't have the fly special roll then
it's minus 1 so we could basically gonna be hitting on twos so it's two shots
so the first pylon hips and then we need threes one misses so it's one save
five-person Bunya 4 plus in boom yeah so this is the d6 damage 5 okay so the next
one hits threes one misses d6 damage 3 how many means you got left now for four
wounds left okay and the third one we roll the ones both hits threes I might
use a command point there yeah come on point
yep both in to those one goes through one the thing that was a 1 was meant
yeah one damage okay so we're on to the last set of pylons
these guys just here so we've got to cause exterminators so basically two of
what we've just done so the first one you can shoot at Magnus needing plus one
so they both hit threes so one goes three
saved well done next one I can feel Richard sweat from here okay
so that was two so we've got one left there's this one with a big crystal in
because that has a heat cannon so this is 36 inches heavy d6 strength 8 minus 4
AP and d6 damage if this target is within half range of the weapon roll two
dice when doing the damage roll Oh case is not half range so it's d6
amount of shots four shots we'll take that
okay four shots kneeling for ease all in and strength eight toughness Evan here
three more to miss but we've got two three will be d6 damaged yes that's 100
K one I need a three or moyer a 500 it's a 4.5 you need yeah okay
Oh killed in there yeah okay so the big the big Python has to do three wings on
Magnus and see if you can do it okay so the Gauss Python is gonna shoot at
Magnus it's going to use the focused beam goals on my later hundred and
twenty inches it's a macro weapon that makes no difference as Magnus is not to
Titanic its d6 amount of shots strengths 16 minus 4 AP and D 3 plus 6 damage at
1/2 all hit rolls made for this weapon against targets that come fly okay so d6
shots Alex left the Bucks it was a 6 but
as a five okay so we need to get the bullets out threes but we've got plus
one because your fly so all in and then strength 16 so two
sword em okay starting thing I should've shot this first but I was hoping to
taking down with a smaller guns and then take a demon Prince out with something
it can't be done easily I have to if I rolled for the role to once you go there
I'll be alright here we go yay does he explode
okay well it took my entire army but I did take out Magnus so there you go okay
so no assault of course on the necrons so we've managed to take Magnus down
laughs he'll get all right okay so now that we've got the wrath of this
thousand sons army coming towards us let's see what they can do in their turn
one okay so the thousand sons turn one we have some movement
pretty much everything actually moving forward we are now in the psyche of
phase of course I have nothing to deny so Richard you may proceed as you wish
Allah is the okay shame in with gaze of faith dive off on the six don't all sex
yeah yeah yeah too much okay that's a good start yeah demon
Prince of cause is going to put patients on the horizon okay goat is off but
Weaver folks honest when they spawn for me I'll bring okay
number six goes off yeah glamour is a seven on him
can't goes off here yes one with a cool with you got a dish mine okay smite goes
off be three damage three free yes almond is your honored death hits middle
one okay yeah Terrace yeah it goes off because he's
got plus one three stars okay smite it smite goes up t3 so to says five wins so
far that's all the psyche that was just like your face done okay so I'm gonna go
to the shooting face yeah yep so I assume these have got guns here yeah
yeah okay so first of all there's anger in lighting at the wounds on their with
their come right wound say three twos to free Nikki yeah we roll them and unless
you roll another one don't it so all them okay so the force or more also
wound on the hip rolls and these here you need Falls to win basically yeah
screams 5 5 5 C are tough less 7 so yeah another four okay so we've got
eleven saves we're at - once we've got to a four plus safe and we've got one
two wounds no three wounds there's another three there three wounds have a
fixed one one damage yeah yeah I'll take that
okay so next are the armatures that one at the Front's there your 4d three shots
six nine okay okay similar to the decimeters that was that yeah amount of
shops yeah and hitting on fries seven seven straight to seventh thoughts and
pause to to save so minus minus one minus one so be fours again one gets
through that's another great damage straight three yes straight case
okay so now the heavy Stuber from the same origin armature nothing nothing
okay so second oh yeah say again okay eight shots coming up
and falls again to 3 so 4 plus saves one gets through okay so that's does it
explode your sink 106 it does a 6 ok so we've exploded its d3 mortal wounds
first of all on my Python just there so how many wounds two and then your demon
Prince they're just up there the demon Prince gets one and then the enlightened
in the box so that doesn't count one as well that was it wasn't it yeah okay so
let's take this one off of the table okay so now the last armature is going
to shoot into that untouched pylon just on the end there okay so eight shots to
mrs. cats better you go through to minus 1 so 1 there's three damage then yep
yeah and then the small gum yes in range okay
right nothing okey-dokey so all the shooting that's
all my shit ain't right here okay so we're in the assault phase so we've got
that steamin prince is gonna attack that pylon so we go some overwatch looking
from some necron symbols none okay so how many inches is he gonna get in seven
inches yeah it was definitely him yep next is going to be a merman is it yes
see if we can get in as well what were the one there double one evil
huh yep excuse again nope okay and then the
other demon prints into that pile on there so overwatch yeah neck on symbols
come on no seven should be in but we'll measure
up so yeah he's definitely in so let's go on to the assault okay so first of
all the demon prints with the claws it's got seven attacks yeah okay string seven
yeah - - - so we're looking at vibes
notes both go through got four was it okay no none of them - damage okay yeah
that's definitely dead so does this one explode let's find out come on a 605 no
not quite okay so the last demon friends okay so
now the one with their apps hitting on threes on the blue and twos on the red
I've got five wounds on this one just it's obviously different strength that
red one yeah yeah demonic X is drink eight okay to be threes and then falls
on the rest okay that's a come on point yeah okay so I've
got two saves to make minus minus four minus three okay so three four so sixes
make on symbols none to go through six damage each okay so that explodes to
potentially no it doesn't okay so that's a wrap for the thousand suns turn one
three essentially pylons destroyed we're now going to move on to the necrons turn
- okay so necrons turn - yeah as you can imagine still no movement
however we've measured up and this one here with the heat cannon is now that's
half range of that steam of print some ghost shoots that first being half range
means I can roll two dice and take the highest when it comes to damage but
first of all we need to see how many shots so it's a heavy d6 so how many
shots we get three okay so we need threes but hard to hit on that demon
print so befores and get to three and strength eight so threes at - for AP - 3
+ yeah one goes through yeah
come on point it saved yep okay so next up are the small pythons
okay so I've had a little think about it I'm going to shoot the big Python next
actually and I'm going to shoot that that steamin prints they're the main
reason for that is he doesn't have that three plus and one was over at the
moment just the four plus and I'm going to use hopefully all of these shots here
into that demon Prince after hopefully I've killed him with the Gores pine on
let's find out what happens okay so we've got D six mounted shots one I
might come and point that I'm going to come and point that okay for a slightly
better okay so that is a fly unit so it's going to be plus one so all in and
strengthen 16 so be twos or three so three saves for up in bonds yeah one yet
one gets through okay so this damage is d 3 plus 6 3 so was it D three plus six
so yeah it's definitely not there does he explode no okay so now we need
to sort out this other nasty demon Prince okay so starting on that end
there with the ghouls exterminators on to the demon Prince so a heavy - okay
both get through strength 12 so threes yep two wins to three plus and
volleyball saves one let's go through and that's D six damage five
okay so the next goes exterminator two shots plus one because your fly okay so
the one gets through and yeah that definitely wounds saved okay and the
third one two shots we want the ones cause of
noetic yes both three and furries yep two more saves one goes through okay
here we go at 2d six diamonds yes ah
okay to demon Prince is gone and I've got a few more shots left
okay so I've got two girls exterminators left so the first one is going to target
the closest Armiger just there so two shots needing fries and spend earth
before was absolutely because it's not fly so one gets through and then
strength twelve what's the toughness of that seven so furries one wound through
that's minus for AP no and d6 damage six how many wins if you got on that well
okay so I need to do exactly the same again then alright here we go we need
force because you're not fly so we get 1/3 and then freeze hits fouled and six
come on four okay well I'll take that right that sees all the necklace
shooting and of course no assault so we're going to move in now to turn to
for the thousand suns okay so the thousand suns turn to so we have some
reserves these Engles came right the way over there got a massive 12-inch assault
I've managed to get into some pylons there these guys came up and have a
salted those two pylons arimin standing on the objective to try and burn that at
the end of the turn in the meantime these guys here moved up a bit and shot
my pylons are all wounded concentration of firepower just spreading around so
we've got five wins left here on this one two on that one three on this one
and the one over there has five wounds left okay let's go to the assault phase
and then we'll have another recap okay so that is the end of the thousand songs
turn two in the assault just one wound taken off of my pythons and I did no
damage back however with the consolidations or four pylons here at
the front are all tied up in combat so let's see what I can do on the necrons
turned three okay so that's the end of necrons turned three so in the shooting
phase I targeted the armature that were just standing there and I managed to
kill him we've just switched the models around so if you actually got to the
armature on the table and the rest of the shots including the pylon which I
shots the number of shots rather than the begun at these guys I didn't roll
particularly well I did kill three still a morale check to take which we're doing
a second and then over here I fell back with that spine on that's pylon and this
pylon here in the assault face these guys took two wins after this pylons is
down to one wound and then they consolidated just grabbing this one back
into the assault so let's do a morale check for those they're not sir shadow
specters what other enlightened yeah so morale check for the enlightened fine
fine okay so that is it so now we could have move into the thousand suns turn
three okay so thousand suns turn three and the movement has been done arimin
new previously exploded that subjective came down here just a recap you have to
kill your enemies objectives all three of them to actually win this mission so
it's going to be very interesting to see how this game goes
these guys just moved over in this direction and the armatures also moved
up in the meantime this character here the Sango Sherman has decided to go on
to the abyss bridge now we have a special role in these house roles if you
roll a 1 you fall into the abyss and die so let's see what happens
- almost on the edge she's on the edge ok so let's move into the psychic phase
and the shooting phase for a thousand suns ok so a thousand suns shooting
phase the armatures here took this pylon down in the middle it didn't explode and
then shooting in with these guys here took this point on down to one wound
they then try to assault that pylon but failed the assault and arimin came up
and assaulted both of those pylons there arimin totally whiffed did nothing and
the Zen goes here all of these attacks my pylon is on one wound
I had six saves to make I needed force I got five fours and a three so I used my
last command point and I rolled a four so my pylon is still alive I just
consolidated into that other PI down there and that was it so the only other
thing to note is that objective number two has been burnt so just one objective
left for Richard to get which is right at the top of this building with my
cryptic on let's see what happens as we move in to turn four for the necrons
okay so the necrons turn four so I fell back with two pylons that were in combat
with arimin and then i targeted arimin with this gun here the heat cannon and
that did the job I managed to take arimin out in the meantime I decided
what to do with the big cores pile on this big horrible thing here all these
here with the fly special role and as my objective is up here I thought it'd be
best to target them so I shots the flux arcs at these and I only killed one
I so that was a bit disappointing and then over here these angles killed the
Python from in close combat it did explode I got three wounds on myself
just there one wound on this Python here one wound on the Gauss Python and then I
killed three as ingles in the explosion and that's was it the necrons ten-four
is over and we move in to turn four for the thousand suns okay so ten for for
the thousand suns so first of all the Shaymin he thought he would move off of
the abyss and in doing so rolled up one and died that was fun to see however
these guys here did manage to move quite far and assaulted my pylon getting as
close as they can to this objective they did take one wound off this pylon in the
assault phase this one's down to four of course I'm guessing away living metal
every single turned this little assaults over here also continued one pylon being
taken out in the assault this one down to six wounds and then the armatures
just over there shots been killed another pod on here century Python of
course so that is it so we're now going to go into turn five for the necrons
okay so necrons turn five priority targets these guys here fell back with
that's pylon and also fell back with this pylon over here then i targeted
these festival with the staff of light killing one i unused the three inch gun
from this python and i managed to kill another one the big gun also shots into
here and I only got one wound through which you saved with your four plus and
vulnerable save so this pesky guy still alive at least he's not going to
outnumber me on the objective to take it so he's got to kill this cryptic to be
able to get this objective interesting times as we move in
to turn five for the thousand suns okay so turn five for the thousand Sun so
they've moved and shot the homages moving up here bring this pylon down to
two rooms in the meantime this enlightened guy came all the way up here
behind my cryptic shots him lost one window down to three wins in the
meantime these angles just piled into both of the pylons there we're now in
the assault phase this is pretty important so we're going to video the
assault so Richard what do you got one three wind okay smart any minuses okay
so here we go four plus no it goes through blade okay
saved on a six so just one moon yeah okay so I'm down to two wounds and my
cryptic war assault back okay so my attack
I need threes and then he needs a four does get a four so saved okay
interesting so let's see what those enkorz can do and we'll have a recap
okay so that's the end of the assault phase the Zen cause did pretty well
taking three wounds off of the Gauss pylon and four wings off of that small
one that's down to three wounds now so that was the end of turn 5 so we need to
see if this game continues so I went first so I'm going to roll the dice and
see if it does a - no the game ends so thank you Rachel II had awesome game I
really enjoyed that and basic as a draw isn't it draw so that was that was close
called at the end there these guys duking it out would have been
interesting if that game had gone on I think potentially I might hopefully I'm
pronouncing this guy out so I think I would have guaranteed a draw actually if
the game had gone on because I woulda just fell back shot you with the power
pile on and the cryptic probably killed him with an e you can't get up there can
you so very interesting obviously I had no way to win that game and there's no
way I was going to get your objectives although all the way over there even
with the veil of darkness because I couldn't move off this objective so yeah
really really interesting really enjoyable
I like we aren't predictability of it yeah yeah I think it's it's it's good
because you can take two different types of lists and just see you know yeah I
mean if you think if you had half of my power to fire the southern dick well
yeah I had revenge which was pretty useless but if you had killed my cryptic
there everything else it'll be like last one so if you've got pulled a player's
garden a firewall or destroyed anymore or punished card if you destroy at least
half of the units at your pound on the head in their army on the start of the
bell you see if you get on that one yeah either one one two three four I ten
units yeah I suppose is gonna be quite rare though to actually get joint power
points isn't a power level can't happen yeah I do like these actually my care
pack you it's pretty cool meanness of that I mean you've got trail trail
deployments you know and we revolve with I think if you if you want a really
random fun game and you've got you've got the normal ones in there you've got
the same as that Himalayan well yes quite different yeah fourth edition
deployment I thinking and then you add loads they were saying
and then you got the weight of the epilogue yeah and I mean you've got that
one yeah so which is it and then that one so they are it might
fall bit apart yeah exactly yeah well that's exactly
right it wasn't it what I mean what you can do with your
and say what you can bring up to X amount of a power level and then just
see who brings what yeah yeah okay well there you go
