Dopo i primi cicli di chemioterapia sembrava che la situazione stesse migliorando, ma poi lo scorso settembre la famiglia è stata devastata dalla notizia che non solo la bambina non era guarita, ma che era addirittura peggiorata, con la trasformazione della malattia in leucemia mieloide acuta

You know when you meet someone and you think, I know the exact bank we should rob.

Duck, You Sucker, often called A Fistful of Dynamite, or more rarely its Italian name,

where someone else had originally been meant to direct, it was released in 1971 – only

seven years after A Fistful of Dollars, and only three years after Once Upon A Time In

The West – the bookends of Leone's run of highly successful Westerns.

I don't include Duck, You Sucker, in that, because a the time of its release it was largely

ignored.

I don't think Leone's previous works are humourless, but Duck, You Sucker feels far more playful

– the title sort of gives that away, and it certainly far more confident in bringing

left-of-field ideas to the mix, than A Fistful of Dollars.

Instead of the usual stoney faced bastard swaggering in to town knowing he can outgun

any opponent, Duck You Sucker takes more of the For A Few Dollars More mode and has two

cowboy types team up.

But here, one of them is Irish Republican John, and Mexican bandit and beard enthusiast,

Juan.

John and Juan, you see.

Anyway, today's moment is their meeting – where John is held up by Juan.

John: And if I fall... they'll have to alter all the maps.

John: You see, when I go, half this bloody country goes with me.

Including yourself.

What we see here, it seems, is a Point OF View shot – this is what Juan sees, and

it's a window into his psychopathy – John speaks but his voice isn't heard, instead

just the angels singing, for prasie be, Juan has found his ticket to fortune.

It's not only a great expression of these two characters, it's a lot of fun.
