Youtube daily report w Feb 16 2019

Hey guys happy Friday I hope your weekend is off to a great start. I'm actually filming this video on

Wednesday and it's only a few days ahead of time but whenever I film one of these videos in advance

There are always like so many releases between when I film it and when I upload it, so I hope I'm not missing

anything too crazy, but Brady and I are going out of town for Valentine's Day

we're going to New York City and we're just going to hang out, spend some time together and I can't wait

so I hope that you guys have a great weekend

But it's actually been a few weeks since I've done a purchase or pass video and there have been so many new makeup releases

so I'm excited to go through and chat with you guys about them and let you know which ones I'm planning on purchasing

there are a couple that I'm

reluctantly passing on and then some that I'm definitely passing on so it'll just be fun to chat with you guys

Okay, let's start out the products that I'm planning on purchasing ColourPop is releasing BFF liquid liners

These will be available by the time this video goes up and they're going to be available for $8 each

I kind of feel like they have these ready to go before they released their mascaras so they could have released them all together

which would have been so convenient for those of us placing an order online, so there are seven different shades available

These are felt-tip smudge proof eyeliners, but not waterproof. So I've actually been wanting colorful

liquid liner pens for a long time and I'm sure there are some out there I've been meaning to search for like a good option

but I just haven't gotten around to it because I do wear like black winged liner pretty much every single day

which isn't practical for everybody but I love how it looks when I do my eye makeup whether I'm doing something a little bit more

subtle like today or like a purple smokey eye. I've gotten so much better at it over the years and I just love it

I think it's so much fun. But sometimes black liquid liner gets a little bit boring

so I've been wanting like rich jewel tones, like a purple, a blue, a green, now they don't have like an emerald green

or a deep purple or even a brown but there are a couple of shades that I want

to try so I'll definitely grab at the black one and the navy one and then the green one is a little bit more subtle

but it still looks pretty and I'm interested in trying it out

I'll probably skip over like the red and the pink and the white because I don't think

practically that I really would use those a whole lot, but I think they're really fun, I'm hoping that it works well

and if it does I'll definitely let you guys know, but if you have any other like colorful liquid liner recommendations

I would love to hear from you guys

I just think that would be a fun way to kind of transform your look without doing anything too difficult

Okay, so Flower Beauty actually released two new eyeshadow palettes, and I'm so excited

I'm actually wearing a Flower Beauty palette on my eyes today. It is the shimmer and shade eyeshadow palette in golden natural

It's like my go-to palette for just like a very simple

warm gold look because it basically comes with browns and golds so it's very simple, very easy to use.

Anyways, because I like the formula so much, I was excited to see that there are new palettes being released

so these are available now at Ulta Beauty for sixteen ninety nine now it's a little bit more

expensive for like a drugstore or a more affordable brand but a lot of times Flower Beauty is on sale on Ulta Beauty's website

for like buy one get one half off. I think I've seen them for like 40% off

So I usually just save the products to my Shoptagr account and wait for a sale, but there are two different options

so the one that I really want to purchase is the Sugar Rush palette which comes with a bunch of beautiful

berry tones and a couple of neutrals. It's such a gorgeous palette and these are like my shades

I love these colors so much and I'm sure that I have some very similar shades in my collection

but I love the Flower Beauty eyeshadow palette or the eyeshadow formulas so much for like day to day wear because you can just create such an easy

quick seamless eye look in just a couple of minutes. I already purchased my palette for February. I got the ColourPop

It's My Pleasure palette, which I have been loving so I'm going to hold off

I might purchase this palette in March or I might wait. I believe it is a permanent palette so it's not going anywhere

So I think I'll end up grabbing it eventually but that one is definitely on my eyeshadow palette list for 2019

They also released the Sun's Blazing palette, which is like a super vibrant

warm toned palette and it looks really beautiful, but those aren't shades that I wear as often.

Okay, so Too Faced is coming out with some new products. We did talk about that interesting collection

they just released in my last purchase or pass video, which was like a complete pass for the majority of us

but there are two new products that definitely caught my eye. The first one is the new Born This Way powder it's not available yet

there's not a lot of information out about product, just kind of like a sneak peak

but it's supposed to be the creamiest most naturally flawless powder with buildable to full coverage

I am NOT a Too Faced Born This Way Foundation fan. I know a lot of people love that product

but I had some of my worst makeup days wearing that product my skin looks so bad after a few hours

it looks oily and it just looks like a complete mess

so I don't like the foundation but I do love at the new, it's not really new at this point, but the Born This Way

concealer they have to like they have more of a light coverage concealer

but the newest full coverage Born This Way concealer is one of my favorite products, so I'm looking forward to trying the powder

I do love trying new powders and this one kind of sounds like it could be a powder foundation, which I do think

is a fun option. I don't have a lot of powder foundations that I love so I would love to try out that one

I'll probably wait for more information like price info and like a better description before I commit to it fully and it's not available yet

but it is something that is on my purchase list and Too Faced is also releasing skincare

so we don't have a release date for this as well, and they said they're launching a full line of skincare

so I assume this picture is just a sneak peek of one of the products

This is a moisturizer that is made with coconut water and it's intended to make your makeup look better

I do love trying new moisturizers. I think that's probably one of my favorite skincare products and that hasn't been the case forever

but more recently, I just find that if you get a good moisturizer and you apply it after you do like your

your makeup can look and apply so much better.

So I'm definitely curious about it I mean obviously it's a little bit early to say what I will and won't be purchasing

from the entire line because I don't know what type of skincare products they're going to release

and I believe the only skincare product they've ever done has been that weird

Glow Job mask that had like a ton of glitter in it, which didn't really set a good precedent

I think a lot of people are automatically going to write off Too Faced skincare

because of that and I don't really blame them because it's not like they came

right on the scene with like a strong skin care release that was just a terrible one. So I guess we'll see for sure

I am curious to see what products they release they are known for like very scented products

so we'll see if they kind of tone that down for their skincare products

but I am looking forward to trying that out and seeing what else they release

Okay, so I don't have any products that are in my possibly list this time but I do have two products that are

that I'm reluctantly passing on a lot of times when I share a product that I'm not going to buy

I'm like pretty dead set on not buying it and I'm not really even super tempted by it

but there are two products that I want to buy, but I'm going to exercise some

self-restraint and skip over them. The first one is from Fenty. So they release some new products. I think they have

liquid lipsticks and then also two highlighters

I'm not going to buy the liquid lipsticks just because I really don't need to purchase any additional liquid lipsticks at this point

So those are like a complete pass for me

but the product that really caught my eye that is still somewhat tempting me is the new

Kilowatt Freestyle highlighter and there are two shades. So these are available now, they retail for $34.00

The one that is really tempting me is the shade whattabrat. It is seriously calling my name.

It's such a stunningly beautiful highlighter and every single picture that I see of it on Instagram

I'm just like drawn to it, but I'm really trying very hard to be a lot more thoughtful about my makeup purchases in 2019

I've only purchased like maybe one or two things since the beginning of January and I'm not like on a low buy or a no buy

but I'm just trying to exercise some self-restraint when I don't need a product and

I just don't think this is something that I need even though it is so beautiful

I do think you could wear it as like a blush topper, a highlighter, an eyeshadow

I love shimmery pink blushes, but because I have tried the Fenty highlighter formula

I think it might be a little bit too much as a blush for me personally just because I feel like it would really emphasize

texture and it might not be super flattering on my skin. So I think I'm going to skip it

I am going to skip it. There's also a blue one called Chillz, which is really beautiful too

but I know for sure I wouldn't wear that as a highlighter or a blush topper

I might wear it as an eyeshadow, but I wouldn't spend $34 on that one at all

but the shade Whattabrat is so beautiful

It's really really tempting me, but I know that I just don't need it

The other product that I'm reluctantly passing on is the Natasha Denona Bloom Blush & Glow palette this retails for

$55.00 and it's available now. This is so gorgeous

I think this is such an interesting makeup release a lot of times when companies do like a blush palette or a blush and highlight

palette it feels very safe and the colors are a little bit more subtle. They're very toned down, but this one is bold

while at the same time still being I guess wearable for those of us that don't like super intense cheek products

It has some cream products in it and and some powder products

so the first reason why I'm not going to buy this is because it does have cream cheek products

and I don't wear a lot of cream cheek products, if any. The closest that I get is like a ColourPop product

and I don't typically buy those anymore or like I have like the Flower Beauty blush bombs

which I do like but that formula is so interesting and different that it's not like a typical cream for me creams just don't stay on my skin

I have oily skin and I know some people who have oily skin do like cream cheek products, but I just can't get them to work for me

and I feel like every time I buy one I waste my money because I end up decluttering it because it's Natasha Denona

I'm like fifty-five dollars is a great deal you break it down by blush and it's like a little over like

$13 per product, but at the same time

I'm just trying not to buy products that I won't get a lot of use out of and I did say that I'm pretty much

not going to buy a lot of like cheek palettes in 2019 because as a whole I don't typically reach for them

anyways, so I can definitely appreciate how beautiful it is and reluctantly pass on it

but like I said, I won't be buying that and then I'm going to finish up with two collections

I'm also passing on both of these. So the first one is the Anastasia Spring 2019 Collection.

This is a limited edition collection that is available now and I am looking forward to seeing what Anastasia releases in

2019 they said there's a lot coming and

it's definitely been one of my favorite brands in terms of eyes shadow palettes lately

I have been reaching for my Anastasia palettes over everything in my collection. I actually just hit pan on one of my

Sultry eyeshadows because I've been using that palette so much and I never hit pan on anything

although I will say Anastasia shadows are a little bit easier to hit pan on because they tend to be a little bit powdery

so anyways, this spring collection is kind of broken down into like a warmer collection and then a cooler collection

but overall there are two eyeshadow quads which are $32 each two metallic liquid lipsticks

which are $20 each and two holographic lip glosses, which are $16 each. Okay, so for me, I am over metallic liquid lipsticks

I don't know that I ever really got into them

I tried like one or two, but I never found them super flattering on me personally

So I definitely won't be purchasing those and the lip glosses are really pretty but I I don't need them

I have a lot of lip gloss and because they're a little bit more colorful

I just don't think practically I would get a lot of use out of them

So when it comes to the eyeshadow quads, these are really pretty and I can appreciate a quad over a full palette

I think an entire palette is always a nice option and I love eyeshadow palettes and

it's kind of nice to have the option to purchase four shades because you're not as overwhelmed

You don't you know, you might not have a lot of room in your collection for a palette or you might not want it

so I like that they did something a little bit different and did quads but at the same time they're $32 each and

Anastasia palettes are maybe like $10 more, so I'd rather just wait and see what palettes they come out with in 2019.

The last collection that I will not be purchasing is the Wet n Wild Rebel Rose collection. This is a limited edition collection

that's available now and I don't know why I am just not drawn to this at all

Usually there is some aspect of every Wet and Wild collection

that kind of pulls me in that I'm curious about but I don't know if it's like the

packaging, the theme, for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me. I do like rose products too,

which is the weird part and this collection has like a rose oil, a rose toner, a rose primer serum, a cream blush, eyeshadow quads,

a few lip products, and some brushes. The eyeshwadow- eyeshwadow?

The eyeshadow quads are probably what I would consider the most out of everything

but because I'm limiting myself to one palette per month

I've really I really had to be more selective about which palettes I think about adding to my collection

so it's kind of been nice because now I can just look at a palette and be like, nope don't need it

Whereas last year I was like well, maybe I'll try it. The formula could be fun. I like that shade. That's interesting, but

now I'm like a lot more decisive about palettes so, I don't know what like for some reason

it just doesn't appeal to me and I don't want to force it when there are so many makeup releases out there that I just

so I assume this picture is just a sneak peek of one of the products

This is a moisturizer that is made with coconut water and it's intended to make your makeup look better

I do love trying new moisturizers. I think that's probably one of my favorite skincare products and that hasn't been the case forever

but more recently, I just find that if you get a good moisturizer and you apply it after you do like your

your makeup can look and apply so much better.

So I'm definitely curious about it I mean obviously it's a little bit early to say what I will and won't be purchasing

from the entire line because I don't know what type of skincare products they're going to release

and I believe the only skincare product they've ever done has been that weird

Glow Job mask that had like a ton of glitter in it, which didn't really set a good precedent

I think a lot of people are automatically going to write off Too Faced skincare

because of that and I don't really blame them because it's not like they came

right on the scene with like a strong skin care release that was just a terrible one. So I guess we'll see for sure

I am curious to see what products they release they are known for like very scented products

so we'll see if they kind of tone that down for their skincare products

but I am looking forward to trying that out and seeing what else they release

Okay, so I don't have any products that are in my possibly list this time but I do have two products that are

that I'm reluctantly passing on a lot of times when I share a product that I'm not going to buy

I'm like pretty dead set on not buying it and I'm not really even super tempted by it

but there are two products that I want to buy, but I'm going to exercise some

self-restraint and skip over them. The first one is from Fenty. So they release some new products. I think they have

liquid lipsticks and then also two highlighters

I'm not going to buy the liquid lipsticks just because I really don't need to purchase any additional liquid lipsticks at this point

So those are like a complete pass for me

but the product that really caught my eye that is still somewhat tempting me is the new

Kilowatt Freestyle highlighter and there are two shades. So these are available now, they retail for $34.00

The one that is really tempting me is the shade whattabrat. It is seriously calling my name.

It's such a stunningly beautiful highlighter and every single picture that I see of it on Instagram

I'm just like drawn to it, but I'm really trying very hard to be a lot more thoughtful about my makeup purchases in 2019

I've only purchased like maybe one or two things since the beginning of January and I'm not like on a low buy or a no buy

but I'm just trying to exercise some self-restraint when I don't need a product and

I just don't think this is something that I need even though it is so beautiful

I do think you could wear it as like a blush topper, a highlighter, an eyeshadow

I love shimmery pink blushes, but because I have tried the Fenty highlighter formula

I think it might be a little bit too much as a blush for me personally just because I feel like it would really emphasize

texture and it might not be super flattering on my skin. So I think I'm going to skip it

I am going to skip it. There's also a blue one called Chillz, which is really beautiful too

but I know for sure I wouldn't wear that as a highlighter or a blush topper

I might wear it as an eyeshadow, but I wouldn't spend $34 on that one at all

but the shade Whattabrat is so beautiful

It's really really tempting me, but I know that I just don't need it

The other product that I'm reluctantly passing on is the Natasha Denona Bloom Blush & Glow palette this retails for

$55.00 and it's available now. This is so gorgeous

I think this is such an interesting makeup release a lot of times when companies do like a blush palette or a blush and highlight

palette it feels very safe and the colors are a little bit more subtle. They're very toned down, but this one is bold

while at the same time still being I guess wearable for those of us that don't like super intense cheek products

It has some cream products in it and and some powder products

so the first reason why I'm not going to buy this is because it does have cream cheek products

and I don't wear a lot of cream cheek products, if any. The closest that I get is like a ColourPop product

and I don't typically buy those anymore or like I have like the Flower Beauty blush bombs

which I do like but that formula is so interesting and different that it's not like a typical cream for me creams just don't stay on my skin

I have oily skin and I know some people who have oily skin do like cream cheek products, but I just can't get them to work for me

and I feel like every time I buy one I waste my money because I end up decluttering it because it's Natasha Denona

I'm like fifty-five dollars is a great deal you break it down by blush and it's like a little over like

$13 per product, but at the same time

I'm just trying not to buy products that I won't get a lot of use out of and I did say that I'm pretty much

not going to buy a lot of like cheek palettes in 2019 because as a whole I don't typically reach for them

anyways, so I can definitely appreciate how beautiful it is and reluctantly pass on it

but like I said, I won't be buying that and then I'm going to finish up with two collections

I'm also passing on both of these. So the first one is the Anastasia Spring 2019 Collection.

This is a limited edition collection that is available now and I am looking forward to seeing what Anastasia releases in

2019 they said there's a lot coming and

it's definitely been one of my favorite brands in terms of eyes shadow palettes lately

I have been reaching for my Anastasia palettes over everything in my collection. I actually just hit pan on one of my

Sultry eyeshadows because I've been using that palette so much and I never hit pan on anything

although I will say Anastasia shadows are a little bit easier to hit pan on because they tend to be a little bit powdery

so anyways, this spring collection is kind of broken down into like a warmer collection and then a cooler collection

but overall there are two eyeshadow quads which are $32 each two metallic liquid lipsticks

which are $20 each and two holographic lip glosses, which are $16 each. Okay, so for me, I am over metallic liquid lipsticks

I don't know that I ever really got into them

I tried like one or two, but I never found them super flattering on me personally

So I definitely won't be purchasing those and the lip glosses are really pretty but I I don't need them

I have a lot of lip gloss and because they're a little bit more colorful

I just don't think practically I would get a lot of use out of them

So when it comes to the eyeshadow quads, these are really pretty and I can appreciate a quad over a full palette

I think an entire palette is always a nice option and I love eyeshadow palettes and

it's kind of nice to have the option to purchase four shades because you're not as overwhelmed

You don't you know, you might not have a lot of room in your collection for a palette or you might not want it

so I like that they did something a little bit different and did quads but at the same time they're $32 each and

Anastasia palettes are maybe like $10 more, so I'd rather just wait and see what palettes they come out with in 2019.

The last collection that I will not be purchasing is the Wet n Wild Rebel Rose collection. This is a limited edition collection

that's available now and I don't know why I am just not drawn to this at all

Usually there is some aspect of every Wet and Wild collection

that kind of pulls me in that I'm curious about but I don't know if it's like the

packaging, the theme, for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me. I do like rose products too,

which is the weird part and this collection has like a rose oil, a rose toner, a rose primer serum, a cream blush, eyeshadow quads,

a few lip products, and some brushes. The eyeshwadow- eyeshwadow?

The eyeshadow quads are probably what I would consider the most out of everything

but because I'm limiting myself to one palette per month

I've really I really had to be more selective about which palettes I think about adding to my collection

so it's kind of been nice because now I can just look at a palette and be like, nope don't need it

Whereas last year I was like well, maybe I'll try it. The formula could be fun. I like that shade. That's interesting, but

now I'm like a lot more decisive about palettes so, I don't know what like for some reason

it just doesn't appeal to me and I don't want to force it when there are so many makeup releases out there that I just

What You DON'T Know About The Kobe Bryant & Tracy McGrady NBA Rivalry (Ft. Elbows & Trash Talk) - Duration: 14:33.

There was Kobe.

And

there

was T-Mac.

They had admiration for each other, but also were rivals.

What is up dudes, dudettes, ballers, players.

It's ya boi MJ.

Tracy McGrady and Kobe Bryant have a long history and rivalry that includes Disneyland,

Black Mamba's Origin story, elbows, and Germany.

Yeah so strap in.

Also, I'm sick so bare with me and I'm trying to get another video out tomorrow on

something people don't know about Kobe.

The Kobe Bryant Tracy McGrady rivalry started back when they were teenagers.

Remember, both Kobe and T-Mac went into the league straight outta high school and both

were hotheads, Tracy more than Kobe.

McGrady went from being a relatively unknown high school prospect in his junior year to

dunking on LaMar Odom who was the best prospect at the time, wow.

Those dunks got McGrady famous quickly and he declared for the draft saying that he would

be gone by the 8th pick and that he wants to at least get playing time in the playoffs

like "his boy" Kobe did.

Because before T-Mac was drafted.

He had talked to players like Jermaine O'Neal and Kobe Bryant to get a feel for how the

NBA life would be.

Kobe had entered the league the year before in 1996 and although he had an up and down

rookie season, he still got minutes in the playoffs and so T-Mac had aspirations to do

the same.

Kobe had encouraged Tracy to keep pushing on the path he was on.

So when T-Mac was drafted to the Raptors, Kobe and T-Mac apparently met in the offseason

according to T-Mac and had a bit of interaction.

T-Mac was 18 at the time and was about to workout, but Kobe told T-Mac not worry about

working out because it was the offseason, relaxing T-Mac but then was in the workout

room a couple hours after.

Tracy then understood, Kobe was all about mind games and they developed a friendship

after that.

Even went to Disneyland and everything.

*Awwww.

Tracy McGrady stayed at Kobe's house because Kobe saw the potential in T-Mac and felt a

connection with another high school prospect.

T-Mac would even lean heavily on Kobe throughout his rookie season as he got adjusted to not

being the main man like he was in high school.

Kobe and T-Mac would play against each other for the first time on March 31, 1998 but there

wasn't much in that.

Tracy was already getting inconsistent minutes, but Kobe was starting to develop and dropped

17 on the Raptors while Tracy dropped 2 points on 3 shots.

In the lockout season.

They didn't get a chance to play against each other and in December 1999, it was more

of the same with T-Mac getting better, but not showing his star potential.

Kobe dropped 26, T-Mac dropped 8 on 10 shots.

Kobe had already become a star and more distant as he focused on getting his team the championship

and so T-Mac and Kobe just didn't talk as much.

Kobe was becoming uber competitive and he saw T-Mac as competition.

The Lakers won a ring and McGrady watched his role model becoming what he had set out

to do.

You see, the first three seasons of Tracy McGrady were eerily similar to Kobe's first

2 seasons, where there were glimpses of star potential, but it wasn't consistent on a

night to night basis.

You could tell that both of them were going through the motions, Kobe in his 4th season

was able to average over 20 points per game and get the championship.

T-Mac saw how the Lakers had give Kobe the minutes,the belief, the glory all things that

McGrady had wanted coming out of high school.

His mini-feud with Vince Carter who was the main man in the Raptors didn't make it any

better and McGrady wanted his own team, somewhere he wouldn't be held back by a guy who was

more developed than him at the time.

That sounds really familiar like really familiar, he's EXACTLY like Kobe.

So in 2000 he joined the Orlando Magic who had just gotten their main star in Grant Hill,

wait what.

Well Grant Hill was more of an all-around player which would work well with a guy like

T-Mac.

Also Florida was T-MAc's home so there you go.

McGrady always compared himself to Kobe and so now he finally had a similar situation

to Kobe, you know just without the rings.

We're gonna have to work on that one.

Anyway, this is when their on-court rivalry really began because McGrady blossomed into

a star averaging over 26 points per game.

This is the time Kobe Bryant also became a force averaging over 28 a game.

These two high school prospects were taking over and that's where you get their first

real battle.

Well not exactly, Rick Fox still took on the majority of that defensive assignment, but

Kobe wasn't able to stop McGrady while McGrady was able to bother Kobe as Kobe went 5-17

from the field.

T-Mac scored 29 with 10 rebounds, Kobe scored 16 with 7 rebounds and that was the moment

Kobe looked at T-Mac and saw a rival, not just a friend.

Because T-Mac was single-handedly keeping the Magic in the playoff race.

Remember Grant Hill, he's been injured since the 4th game of the season and so it's been

all T-Mac.

In the playoffs, he would drop a 42-10-8 game which was called his superstar audition tape.

Kobe was paying attention to all of this, even if he wasn't necessarily communicating

with Tracy.

The Lakers would win another ring behind the deadly Shaq and Kobe combo.

He at least got a nice block on Kobe.

They both guarded each other in the 2001 All star game but McGrady on shot 4 times and

came away with 2 points while Kobe had 19 and 7 assists.

The 2001-2002 season was more of what we saw in March.

In November 2001, T-Mac and Kobe went at it with Kobe getting 28 and 8 assists and T-Mac

getting 22 and 7 boards.

All these battles so far, Kobe has always won, large part due to the Lakers being better

than those teams McGrady has been on.

I mean name T-Mac's teammates on the Magic.

Yeah that.

It was no different in January of 2002.

Similar stats once again and once again, not really matched up on each other because Rick

Fox took the assignment on T-Mac and the Magic put multiple defenders on Kobe.

Another ring for Kobe and now T-Mac was looking for some sort of win.

He understood his team was not gonna be a championship team and he ain't lying.

So the next season was T-Mac's time.

The 2002-2003 season had the more memorable matchups.

The first matchup of the season in November was a one to remember.

Both T-Mac and Kobe had 38 each and the Magic came up with the win.

Both were making some tough shots and after the game Tracy was asked about the Kobe and

T-Mac debate because yes at the time, that was a legitimate debate.

Tracy declined to give an answer and said he was a team player not caught up in that,

but he was through the moon and happy that that was his first victory over Kobe.

Teammates recall that McGrady was super pumped about the win, more than normal.

This was also the game T-Mac broke Kobe's ankles and Kobe came down the other hand and

dunked on the whole team while getting a technical.

Straight savage.

But let's talk briefly about the Kobe McGrady debate.

So during this time, there was a debate between who's better Kobe or T-Mac.

Some said T-Mac because he's a year younger, he's bigger, longer wingspan.

Amd he's doing what he's doing without any help.

Others said Kobe because he's a better defender, better leader, works harder, and is a champion.

There was a slight sway towards Kobe but that Mcgrady performance was a testament to McGrady

saying, I'm here.

The next meeting was less than a month away in December and this was more of what had

happened with the Lakers winning and both putting up 21 points.

However, remember how I said Tracy was looking for any win, so he lead the league in scoring

at 32 points per game, despite Kobe scoring 40 for 9 straight games.

T-Mac said he wasn't gonna let Kobe get the scoring title over him.

In Kobe's stretch, T-Mac averaged 37.4 points including a 52 point game and a 46 point triple

double.

He was not gonna let Kobe win and was always trying to one up him.

During this time, both Tracy and Kobe were signed with Adidas.

Kobe swears T-Mac and Kobe played one on ones and he beat him 11-2 based off a tweet and

Kobe said he beat him 11-3 in their recent interview.

A further look into it and Adidas did run ABCD camps in Germany and while it's not

confirmed they were there together, T-Mac did go to Germany to launch his shoes, the

T-Mac 3s and Kobe was also in Germany for a promotional tour.

So Kobe would most definitely be working on his game in the offseason and if both of them

are together, most likely a 1 v 1 would break out.

And if Kobe did uhhh *ahem roast T-Mac, I don't think McGrady would ever admit that.

The 2003-2004 season was memorable for the game Kobe Bryant became the Black Mamba on

March 15, 2004.

While I have focused on T-Mac trying to catch up to Kobe, let's talk about Kobe for a

sec.

Kobe was dealing with many off-court problems.

For one, he was dealing with rape accusations, his wife Vanessa had just thrown out his clothes

on the street and for the first time in his life, Kobe didn't want to be on the court,

even if it was against a guy like T-Mac who Kobe always wanted to face.

Tracy couldn't even recognize Kobe in the first half as Kobe only had 1 point and Tracy

was cooking with 21.

In the locker room at half time, everything was looking bad and Kobe just wanted to focus

so he came up with the persona of the Black Mamba to be a menace on the court away from

distractions so he could play the game he loves.

In the second half, Kobe went on to score 37 points, hit the game tying shot in regular

time and win in overtime.

I made a video a while back going in more detail about this, but this time Tracy had

brought out a better version of Kobe who couldn't take being outplayed by his opponents.

Tracy also did this although it didn't count.

Kobe did elbow T-Mac in the back which was not necessarily friendly.

At the end of the season.

Kobe got his wish to be the man, similar to how McGrady had earlier got his wish to be

the man.

Now I've went into detail to describe how these two players impacted each other in the

early part of their careers.

And that's because the early part of their careers really established a groundwork for

the people they would become.

Kobe called Tracy McGrady the toughest player he ever had to guard and that was from the

reputation T-Mac had in Orlando.

He was a shooting guard with a 7 foot 2 wingspan that could do everything Kobe could, except

their personalities were very different.

Where Kobe was expressive with his teammates and a leader in his own right, McGrady was

reserved, more of a beta personality.

At the end of the 2004 season, T-Mac went to the Rockets and Kobe had his own team without

Shaq.

Yes, Kobe and McGrady would still have legendary battles like the crazy overtime game in 2007

in which Kobe scored 53 points and McGrady dropped 30 and 10 assists which the Rockets

won.

But McGrady never was able to lead his team to a championship.

Daryl Morey approached Tracy McGrady, asking him to be more of a leader on the Rockets

and McGrady politely refused saying that wasn't him.

Even when the Rockets were with T-Mac and Yao and they were doing amazing things, Chuck

Hayes apparently was their leader.

Yeah him.

The rivalry of who was the better player had finished

by the 2007-2008 season with their last great battle being in October 2007 when Kobe scored

45 and T-Mac dropped 30.

Kobe was able to lead a team to a championship, was the better defender, the better leader,

the more healthy counterpart.

The rivalry wasn't filled with animosity, it was more of friendly competition, but knowing

Kobe, nothing was friendly.

It recently came up again with Kobe and T-Mac's interview which made me realize how influential

each player was on the other.

These two were at a point the best shooting guards in the league and were in competition

in crucial times for the player's career.

Tracy has given Kobe all the praise, calling him the best player he has ever faced including

Jordan and LeBron.

T-Mac has said that Kobe got the best out of him.

I just think you gotta see that this rivalry made the two better and at the same time,

both looked up to each other.

It was one of those rare instances where yeah there was a rivalry between the two, but it

was a friendly one.

So yeah I could just say that this was more a history between the two's relationship,

but I like calling it a rivalry and I'm pretty sure Kobe and McGrady do too, but what

do you think?

Welcome to my first episode of my unmod series for California registration

What you see right now

is what I have done so far to make it road legal

but it wasn't like this when I first got it

Yesterday, the seller's friend

trailered the bike over

along with some other parts

I will show you later in the other episodes

now the bike is finally here

actually when I first got it

it didn't have mirrors. I put them back right away

what I am doing is a little unmod series

basically to get this bike

back to the stock look

because I need to get this bike verified and plated

so I must get it back to stock look

so it may look a little bit different

from when you first saw this bike in my previous videos

that's probably a semi-finished product

when I first got this bike

it's obvious there are some parts needed to be updated

bike is a bit dirty. I will clean it altogether

alright, let's see what this bike needs

to get back to stock look

First is the mirror

I have already installed it.

I find it quite special over here

there's a nut where

you can cover the the nut

so it look all black and clean

no showing of any silver or metallic bits

just some attention to details

yup, I need signals

the signals was probably broken

from the low side

then he just removed it completely. same with the other side

yea, he removed it

just took it out

didn't look like it was damaged over here though

There were a lot of stickers in front.

event stickers

some number and label. I cleaned it off

Rub it with alcohol and removed them

So, if it's sorted out nicely, it's like a new bike!

After all, it is the 2017 version, only at around 1000 miles.

super hard. like plastic

this type of tire must be used with tire warmer

to get the working temperature up for traction

in winter, with this tire? you are practically skating on the road.

so I must replace it before the inspection

Then again, this tire has a specific label

oh it's in first gear? wait a min

you look closely, there is a writing over here

specifically said it is not a street legal tire

must be replaced

but no connection to rear brake light

i don't know if the registration process includes checking the rear brake light

so I have to figure out something

So there's a few scratches on the clutch cover casing

the reason for using engine case slider is to prevent

any damage to the engine case so it does't leak oil or something

or else it needs to be replaced

obviously it's just a scratch. not serious.

so the previous owner

put on the protective case after the crash to prevent the same damage again

gonna wipe a bit so it doesn't look dusty

you may ask why bother since it's going to be covered

tail light should light up. that should do it

if you want to add brake light to this rear set

you'd have to buy another part

so it can be operated via brake fluid pressure

this is the cheapest way. just using zip ties

looks pretty rough here

My plan was to switch back to the original factory components.

Because I want to ride and feel how this bike handles originally

So for now, let's use this method to get the brake light working

and if its suitable for off the grid comms.

And evaluate if its a suitable backup for commercial communication networks.

And the most people who start to dig into that topic

the first things they will face or have to deal with are

are those small Baofeng handhelds.

Those are very cheap and small VHF/UHF transceivers.

And as you can see I got the...

BF F8 HP with 8 Watts.

Here I got the 'famous' UV5R.

And as you can see, here I got

two Nagoya antennas.

Nagoya antennas are somewhat good in quality and very cheap.

You only have to make sure to get an original.

Get it from an official dealer because the internet is full of fakes.

And there are also fake Baofeng radios around.

I know a couple of hams who bought fake Baofengs via local ads here.

They can't use them with additional external antennas.

They only seem to work with the original antennas that came with the device.

I ordered my devices via baofengtech.com in USA.

I have no issues with additional antennas, in contrary

those devices work pretty well with those bit bigger

antennas and I could establish longer range comms with them.

Considering those devices are 5W with very small antennas.

With time you will consider upgrading the antennas

so you will innevitably come across

all sorts of antennas and tutorials.

First I tried to make a 1/4 wave ground plane antenna.

That's an antenna like that with 4 radials

and one radiating element.

I tried to hook that on my Baofeng.

I did not notice any improvement.

Then after I while I came across those SlimJim antennas.

Those are like JPole antennas.

They look like this.

JPole is like that, SlimJim goes like this.

It has a pretty good

takeoff angle.

The radiation patter is apparently focused horizontally.

AFAIK it's about 8°.

So the radiation angle does not radiate into the air.

It radiates horizontally, which is very good if you are on an elevated position.

Then you setup the SlimJim and it radiates

with all its power

or the so called "gain"

which is measured in dB but I won't go into that now

thus it focuses all it's energy

and radiates horizontally.

Everything has it's pro's and con's.

The advantage is you can communicate more efficient from a mountain

You can transmit focused to the desired location. The antenna looks like this.

You can roll it up.

I ordered it for

VHF and PMR frequencies.

It's directly attached to a cable and SMA plug.

I added a BNC adapter for using it with my Yaesu.

As I said VHF has it's disadvantages.

First of all, those handhelds work on

FM, which is frequency modulation.

Let's write that down. We got FM.

Then we got AM.

which is Amplitude Modulation, and then we got SSB

which is also Amplitude Modulation

but with double the efficiency.

Let's sketch this up quickly.

So, frequency modulation.

That is the timeline.

That's the power output.

FM always uses maximal output power (carrier).

And the signal is modulated through the frequency.

Amplitude modulation

the signal is modulated through the power of the amplitude.

Single Side Band is also amplitude modulated

But instead of using this area

you use only one side

When it's above, then it is called upper side band, on lower = lower side band.

So that looks like this.

Upper side band is used above 10MHz.

Lower side band below 10MHz.

All Baofengs use FM.

It's not efficient at all and its prone to fail.

And you always use full power.

Resulting in low efficiency.

For the price of high quality modulation.

FM has higher quality modulation

while AM and SSB have higher efficiency.

But lower sound quality.

First let's take a look what are the benefits of VHF.

Or better said, how is it used in the field.

This is you with a handheld transceiver.

And you are on a mountain.

Let's be optimistic, range about 30km.

Directly.

So, within 30km you can talk to someone

who has the similar device as you.

Such communication is called "simplex".

You talk on simplex channels.

But there is another way.

Let's say there is a repeater 40-50km away

which is on a mountain.

With big antennas.

Because the repeaters have big and efficient antennas

they can receive your signal on longer ranges.

Even from 60km and more.

The repeater takes the signal,

enhances the signal,

and forwards it.

And this radius can be...

I already heard some repeaters in Bosnia

Let's say up to 300km.

250-300km.

It all depends on your antenna.

So let's say you are hiking somewhere

you save the frequency of the nearest repeater

and you can talk to people or call for help.

And you have a possibility to talk to other users.

Use case would be hiking or some mini expeditions

where you already know that you can hit the repeater.

And this is okay.

And you also have mobile or stationary VHF radios of course.

They transmit up to 100Watts.

With a good antenna you can also reach 200km.

Maybe even more.

It all depends on your antenna and the rig's efficiency.

But let's assume...

something happens.

And there is no electricity.

Then there is no repeater

That's gone too.

Only this is left.

As soon the public power supply goes down, the whole system crashes.

Let me show you...

this.

That's the whole frequency allocation

that the hams can use.

Let's say this part is PMR.

Everyone is allowed to use it.

Let's say this is UHF.

Here we got VHF.

And <b>ALL</b> of this is HF.

So here you are limited to 446 MHz.

And the UHF band which is also around 430, not 100% sure

VHF 145. Plus/Minus 1MHz

I forgot CB.

But it's smaller.

27MHz.

Now I'm gonna tell you something.

Why CB is the wrong choice for serious comms?

We've got a radio transceiver here.

That's the world.

Actually that's the ionosphere and here is the world.

And some mountains..

Here is the second radio station.

VHF goes like this.

And stops here.

VHF can't go through terrain.

Maybe it could reflect from the mountain

if the rocky soil can reflect the VHF waves.

But mostly, not.

CB is also like that.

CB goes until here and stops.

But the interesting point on HF is

It all depends on the antenna and the angle of radiation.

And this angle

depends on the frequency.

It's a bit complicated, I'll try to keep it easy.

CB frequency is on 27MHz.

If you aim them into the air, they just go through.

They don't reflect.

CB goes into space and does not reflect anywhere.

But this again depends on the solar cylce which takes 11 years.

So every 11 years those frequencies,

the so called MUF (maximum usable frequency)

is the upper limit of the frequency that will bounce of the ionosphere.

So CB is currently above MUF and you won't be able to bounce the signals.

You won't establish long range comms, except you climb here

and transmit like that.

So with HF you have a much larger range.

Sometimes it even bounces from the ground.

This is called SKIP.

And the number of bounces is called HOP.

Some years ago I was able to receive Russians on CB.

Today there is no chance to hear so far.

Let's assume you are a prepper and have a bug out location in the mountains.

Some mountains...

Here you built your cabin or house..

You bought a VHF station with 100W.

Set it up, everything seems fine.

And then you wonder why you don't receive anyone.

VHF can't go through topography.

If there werent a mountain, here is the earth's curve

you would go like this.

If your friend is here.

He wants to warn you that some bandits are coming.

He won't be able to.

But, HF is the solution.

So you live here.

Here lives your friend.

And, here we got the ionosphere.

Let's setup some antennas.

The interesting part is

at night

the ionosphere behaves differently as in the day.

At night we could use 3.5MHz

and setup the antenna like this.

Using a simple wire (horizontal dipole).

It radiates directly into the air.

So on 3.5MHz it would reflect like that, even on the day, it depends

it would rain down in the closer region.

On the day you would use 7.5MHz (have to double check that!)

and it all depends on the angle, if it will bounce or go through.

There is a lot of room for trial and error.

The higher the antenna is

the take off angle of the radiation is more horizontal

or more omnidirectional.

If the antenna is low, it can't go sideways,

but into the air

You can put the antenna on 3 meters height and go into regional comms.

What use of VHF in such a situation?

You could set up your own repeater.

A so called parrot.

With solar charging.

Two handhelds.

One receives and forwards it to the parrot.

It records the messages and transmits it on the other handheld.

That would be one option.

But that's pretty unreliable.

It's prone to fail. Let's assume its 20km away

And then it stopps working suddenly.

Some leaves block the solar panel...

Then you have to walk 20km to get it working.

And you maybe even get into an ambush.

Triangulation is another thing.

Those horizontal transmissions can be easily triangulated.

You have one transmitter here.

And then you use some directional antennas

like a Yagi.

You then simply aim for the strongest signal.

And a friend does the same from another spot.

And maybe even a third.

You can then roughly locate the transmitter.

While with this way

You can't.

The waves come from above, the ionosphere.

You would have to measure the angle to the sky, those angles are low.

It's very difficult to get a direction that way.

The closer you get, the harder it gets.

The farther away you are, the lower this angle is.

Using a directional antenna you can then roughly estimate the direction.

To sum it up.

Pro for VHF: price.

You can get a Baofeng for 30$ already.

With 10$ for an antenna you have an average device.

But it's range is limited to let's say 30km.

Comms farther than 30km, you depend on

You need a network, a repeater.

VHF and UHF is prone to topography.

In 99% of the cases, without line of sight there will be no contact.

HF = Expensive.

HF devices are really expensive. Below 450$ there is nothing.

But long range comms are possible.

Don't know what to write here.

As I said, very far.

HF, larger frequency spectrum.

Every band has its feature and can be used according to the situation.

With 0.5W and morsecode you can get intercontinental comms.

It all depends on the solar weather.

HF is prone to solar weather.

If the bands are closed, then the propagation is really poor.

I forgot to mention. With VHF you can communicate via the Moon.

With a directional antenna

you aim at the moon and the waves will bounce.

On the other side of the globe.

And you can even use satellites

The behave like repeaters.

But you won't be able to target a sattelite if you dont have an app or tracker.

You won't see it, but the moon you can see.

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox's make emergency landing - Daily News - Duration: 3:11.

Jennifer Aniston and her Friends co-star Courteney Cox were jet-setting to Mexico for a birthday trip but were forced to make a terrifying emergency landing on Friday

The two actresses were in Aniston's private jet bound for Cabo San Lucas around 11am when the plane lost a wheel during take-off at LAX airport, according to the FAA

Aniston, Cox, screen writer Molly Kimmel - wife to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel - and nine others were on board the Gulfstream Aerospace IV plane and they are yet to de-plane the aircraft

 The plane made it all the way down to Mexican airspace but turned around back to Ontario, California after deeming it wasn't safe to land

   As a result the plane was diverted emergency landed at Ontario International Airport just after 2pm, about 60 miles away from Los Angeles

 According to FlightAware, the aircraft touched down at 2:05pm PST, three hours after taking off

 They were a total of 12 passengers on the aircraft and they are yet to get off the plane, according to TMZ

 The plane has the tail number N729TY. All the passengers on the plane are reportedly women including Amanda Anka, Jason Bateman's wife

  Share this article Share The aircraft was forced to circle in the area for roughly three hours in order to burn off enough fuel to land the plane safely, according to Fox

  The City of Ontario Police and Fire Departments speedily responded to the airport to assist the plane in landing, according to airport officials

 By Friday afternoon the aircraft was still stationed at the Ontario airport and a tire was brought out, seemingly to replace the missing one

 Then airport crew speedily removed the luggage from the faulty private plane and transferred it onto another bigger private jet

  Finally around 4.03pm PST, the Aniston and her friends disembarked the private jet hiding under umbrellas and hats and boarding the other plane

 Aniston celebrated her 50th birthday on February 11.

hey good morning good morning guys and gals welcome welcome to the show and we

are just getting our day started here and everybody is trying to get get out

of Fargo up here and it is really really slippery so okay I'm gonna lock up my

wheels here here we go no it says we can we can start turning

oh I don't know what that one truck over there is doing but I kind of need a

little bit of speed to try and get it up to this hill right

looks like he's broke down or something but yeah we are definitely spinning

trying to go up this hill here and I'm just gonna see if I can make it oh great

now we got a red light oh yeah yeah I don't know how that's gonna do hopefully

we can make it but look at all these trucks that are trying to come in here

they're all trying to come in there to get feel right take it a lot here we go

and all the light just changed to green so let's hope we can we can make it up

I just really hope we can because I'm super super light right so

hopefully we're not just gonna be spinning and I'm hoping that the roads

will be good I really hope so yeah let's see we can make it across this hill here

now it feels like we're doing all right now it's not slippery anymore but yeah I

kind of waited a little bit longer because I wanted all the other traffic

to start getting going first right because if you try to go right away it's

just gonna be tossed right there's gonna be so many guys out there on the road

and it could cause accidents because now people are in the hurry

everything right but anyhow we're getting out of here we really are so

let's see how far we can make it I hope the road will be good though

that's the only thing that I'm worried about is we our oldest win last night

right Oreo all day yesterday and last night so hopefully we'll be good to go I

really hope so we got nice and sunshine but it is very very very cold so yeah

hopefully we don't freeze up or hopefully I don't see anybody else froze

up on the road either you know that would be that would be scary if you

froze up on a road on your own you could freeze to that very quickly right

continue what do you know that's how our donors make a right to Winkler Manitoba

guys now because we have the road closed yesterday there's been a super super

long line up over here to try and get to the border I've been sitting in the line

up here for about 45 minutes already and we're still not even up at the booth yet

as you guys can see we got a ton and ton of trucks up here which I kind of

suspected that's why I didn't want to leave first thing in the morning because

uh because exactly this everybody's trying to head north right trying to get

across the border and everything and I just got a message from dispatch saying

that if they don't unload me grab an empty trailer and go home it's a really

really trying to get some miles but it doesn't seem to be working this week

well maybe next trip right but anyways let's get across the border hopefully

soon and get to our customer and get this load off right Jay's got across the

border here a few minutes ago and died it's not that far and then we get onto a

highway 14 that takes us right over to Winkler Manitoba and that's what we're

on right now yeah you guys can probably see there is a little bit of a breeze

and a little bit of blowing snow going across the road it's not bad but just as

I got across support I got a load off her apparently they changed the plans on

me so what they're gonna do now is have me drop this load they're at the

customer pick up an empty trailer there and then go to a different customer in

that surrounding area and pick up a load there or life load there basically

and bring it back to the yard in Steinbach the Lord is actually going to

Fargo but I'm guessing it's only gonna get delivered on Monday from the sounds

of things so I ain't going to be able to do that since today is only Friday

so anyways it sounds like regardless we're going to be going home but SH I

guess I'm okay with whatever

I have to take the good with the bad I guess some days but anyhow let's get

down there and do our all our things and make our way home just got my load off

here in Winkler and went down to the customer about my reload on they were

just literally three-quarters of a mile over on the other side so that was kind

of nice I like that all we got all of that done the Sun wants to go down over

there and I am gonna hammer down go home go to the yard drop this trailer and

whatever and then I already made myself available to go to give tomorrow because

I will still have about 38 hours remaining after I get home so I still

have plenty of hours at least a good number of hours so I said you know what

keep me going I just sent them a message here before I took off do you have a

load for me tomorrow and eight more miles so what I told him

so we'll see what they come back with and wherever at least if I get a load at

least I get a few extra miles right but if I have to do a reset I have to do a

research as simple as that but regardless

I'm gonna go ahead and go home and I'm gonna see what happens alright guys we

are done for today ten yeah I decided not to take my camera's home because I

was just gonna stay the night home anyways and then leave again tomorrow

morning right so I said you know let me just leave the cameras in here I'm just

going home and spending a short time with the family and just basically take

a shower have supper and go to bed and get going again in the morning so anyway

so we already done all of that and now it's time to close off the show so I

This week, we learn about some of the difficulties in the early days of Ellen White's ministry.

This week in Adventist history we focus for once just on the United States.

February 10, 1850, was the day Ellen White shared with friends about the difficulties

she faced in the early days of her prophetic ministry, trying to help the small, scattered

groups of seventh-day Sabbath-keeping former Millerites to coalesce into a movement.

On February 10, 169 years ago this week, she wrote to Philip and Nancy Collins: "We should

have written you before but we have had no certain abiding

place, but have traveled in rain, snow and blow with the child from place to place.

I could not get time to answer any letters and it took all of James' time to write for

the paper and get out the hymn book."

It was on this kind of exhausting, all-consuming commitment, that, eventually, the Seventh-day

Adventist Church was founded.

On February 11, 1911, in the large city of Philadelphia, the first black Adventist church

in the state of Pennsylvania was organized.

It had 16 charter members, baptized by Thomas H. Branch, who you see in THIS PHOTO, HERE,

after five months of evangelistic meetings in the Philadelphia region.

On February 14, 1975, Jerry L. Pettis died when his private plane crashed in the mountains

of southern California.

Pettis is notable in Seventh-day Adventist history because in 1966 he became the first

church member to be elected to the United States Congress.

Born in 1916, Pettis graduated in 1938 from Pacific Union College.

After serving in the US Air Force in World War II, he worked as a commercial airlines

pilot, later going into business.

Perhaps reflecting Adventist views on creation, during his five terms in the House of Representatives,

Pettis introduced significant environmental protection legislation, which was passed after

his death at age 58.

The Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Administration Medical Center in Loma Linda, California,

was named in his honor.
