Youtube daily report w May 25 2017

Subscribe!

Seriously.

There's lot's of cool content coming up that you're gonna want to know about.

And remember, once we hit 30 thousand subscribers, you'll be able to pick up the fabled Taco

Trinket as suggested by Black Sendok.

Tasty.

Success!

Dockyard went live without hitches and you've already been hammering it hard.

Feel free to let us know your thoughts on our latest addition to the DB map pool over

on the official forums, reddit and in your own YouTube videos

We've also got Bug Megathreads live on the official forums and reddit so if you find

anything you don't think is quite right, let us know about it.

A lot of you want to be able to play on Dockyard exclusively.

Since going live, we've made some changes to make Dockyard appear in the next-map list

more than it did on launch.

In addition, we're making all 9 of our named community servers Dockyard-only until Monday

the 29th, starting now!

Just search for 'Dockyard' in the server browser.

Dockyard isn't playable in Ranked currently as we don't want to introduce a new map into

the Ranked map group mid-season.This is to allow you time to get used to it and come

up with strats before we introduce it to Ranked Season 3.

We want to see what you can do with

Dockyard, so we're hosting another community competition!

This will be a little different from the Epic Kills we've seen in the past, as this isn't

just focusing on frags.

We want to see your skills by making any video you want, as long as it's focused on Dockyard!

This could be a frag movie, match commentary, trick jumps, a map tutorial, anything!

First Prize will get 15 Elite Cases, Second Place 10 and Third Place 5.

And, of course, all of them will be featured in one of our weekly videos.

You have until Tuesday the 6th of June, so get to it and create some awesome.

Reddit detective DMN666 managed to find a few things in the game files

after the update, including a loading screen image for a map called Castle.

This is indeed one of the other maps we're working on, thanks all of those extra bodies added to the team.

We hadn't mentioned it yet as it's still very early in development, but we'll give you updates

when it reaches significant milestones.

The countdown has officially started as we're now in the final week of Ranked Season 2.

That means one week left to earn Ranked Points.

When the season ends on the first of June we'll start sending out your end of season

rewards which include bonus Ranked points and Trinkets

You can spend those in the Ranked Season 2 store until Season 3 begins.

Any Ranked Points you have left will carry over into the next season

However, once the Ranked Season 2 cases are gone, they're gone.

Aculite is back and still rekking face.

His intro clip alone is enough to give you a masterclass on how to play Sparks.

But continue watching to see how to play SkyHammer and Bushwhacker like a boss too.

Last week the most reported issues were Ranked Match Balance, Hackers and Playing

with Friends.

For Ranked Match Balance we know that Ranked Season 2 has had some teething issues, and

recently we've been focusing our efforts to make Season 3 perform as well as possible.

Updates for it include 3 and 4 player queues, new rewards and a ton of bug fixes.

For Hackers we're continuing to improve and add to our existing systems, and you can help

us by reporting anyone you're suspicious of in-game.

Lastly for Playing with Friends, we've been working hard at getting Casual Matchmaking

ready for another public test, which we're aiming to do this summer.

Let us know in the comments below what kind of video you're going to make for our 'Dockyard

Goes Live' competition.

And hey, if you've already made one, why not leave the link for everyone else to check it out?

Top 10 Facts [Part 4] - Duration: 15:25.

Since as far back as the 1st century, this acrostic square of Latin inscriptions has

been carved into stone, scribbled onto the pages of books, and etched into wooden furniture

by unknown persons around the globe.

It's become known as the Sator- or Rotas Square, taken from the two words around the edges,

and it is palindromic in two dimensions.

Meaning, it can be read in any direction.

Top-to-bottom, bottom-to-top, left-to-right, or right-to-left.

The square consists of only five Latin words.

Sator, Arepo, Tenet, Opera, and Rotas.

I know, I know, a Swede attempting Latin is anything but pleasant.

But look at it from the bright side, at least it wasn't Danish.

No one is quite sure what this five-word sentence means, especially considering that the word

Arepo is a hapax legomenon.

Meaning, it does not appear anywhere else in all of Latin literature and thus its definition has been lost.

Nevertheless, Arepo is speculated to be a proper name and one plausible translation of this sentence would be:

"The sower Arepo holds the wheels with care."

Many ancient cultures believed the Sator Square to be a powerful charm infused with mystical

properties and it's been associated with religion and spirituality for close to two millennia.

In the early 1900s it was discovered that the letters could be repositioned around the

central N to form the anagram "Pater Noster" in the shape of a cross.

Pater Noster is the first two words of a revered Christian prayer known as The Lord's Prayer.

Which is what was played in the beginning.

The four residual A's and O's supposedly represents Alpha and Omega because religion.

However, some conflicting evidence challenges this interpretation so its true meaning, purpose,

and origin remains highly controversial.

It's equally plausible that someone merely thought of a clever palindrome and accidentally

gave birth to one of the first memes in human history.

The word minute, as in a unit of time, comes from a Latin term meaning "first small part".

In other words, the reason we call a minute a minute is because it is the first smaller

part, or the initial division, of an hour.

Following the same logic, a second is called a second because it is the second division of an hour.

And while the second is officially the last sexagesimal fraction, this succession would

mean that 1 hour is 60 minutes, 1 minute is 60 seconds, and 1 second is 60 thirds?

Or possibly 60 tierce which is an archaic form of third.

Not tears but tierce.

Tierce, not tiers.

Thirds or tierce is such an obsolete unit of time that it's unlikely to be understood by, well, anyone.

And even further refinements, such as fourths and fifths, become redundant as decimal fractions

of the second, such as milliseconds and microseconds, are much more practical.

This piece was composed by Joseph Haydn in 1791 and is officially known as Symphony No. 96.

Unofficially, it been popularized as The Miracle.

The story goes that in 1795 Haydn was to unveil his latest symphony at a theater in London

and the audience was so mesmerized by his performance

that they rose out of their seats and converged upon the stage.

While the audience applauded a chandelier suddenly fell from the ceiling and crashed

into the now empty seats.

Thus, no one was harmed in an accident that could've cost the lives of some 30 people.

The audience accredited their good fortune to Haydn's exceptional performance and began

shouting "Miracle!" over and over again.

However, while this incident is likely to have occurred, further research indicates

that the chandelier fell during the premier of Symphony No. 102 and not No. 96.

Nevertheless, aside from this slight misattribution

Joseph Haydn literally saved an audience with his music.

When a character in any form of fictional media is badly wounded and brought to a hospital,

this is a very common scene.

It usually goes like this...

Patient flatlines.

Doctor grabs a pair of irons.

They scream "CLEAR!".

Chestbuster impression.

Dramatic moment of silence.

Beep!

Patient is revived.

This is anything but an accurate portrayal of defibrillation.

In fact, it's almost entirely fictitious.

A defibrillator is not and can not be used to reestablish a heartbeat if the heart has stopped beating.

That's what CPR is for.

A defibrillator will actually do the opposite in that it stops the heart from beating.

It is used to reestablish a regular heartbeat if the heart has begun to fibrillate.

Fibrillation is when the heart beats with an irregular rhythm, also known as dysrhythmia,

and thus a defibrillator prevents the heart from fibrillating.

The electric shock momentarily paralyzes the heart so that a synchronized rhythm can be restored.

A defibrillator is the cardial equivalent of solving a tech-related issue

by turning your PC off and then on again.

In the UK there's a royal palace known as the Tower of London.

Strolling and flying throughout the premises of this tower is an unkindness of six ravens.

An unkindness is the collective noun for a group of ravens.

To prevent the birds from flying away their wings are frequently clipped and while ravens

in the wild rarely live past the age of 15, these captives can live past the age of 40.

So why exactly is an unkindness of ravens kept at the Tower of London?

Because they have magical powers that prevents the tower, the Crown, and all of Britain from falling apart.

Naturally.

According to folklore and superstition, a population of no less than six ravens are

somehow fundamental to the continued prosperity of all of British society.

How?

Well, that's the thing about beliefs, logic is optional.

Think of it as Britain's kryptonite but instead of throwing green rocks at a man in spandex

you would have to throw six ravens out of a country.

During World War II, a lone raven remained as the sole protector of Britain when his

five brethren cowardly abandoned their post.

This flying wizard bravely took on the Nazis all by himself.

In 1947, raven MacDonald was found decapitated on the castle grounds and the killer was never caught.

And in 2013, the two ravens Jubilee and Grip were killed by a fox.

Fortunately the ravens have persevered and their magical powers continue to protect the

monarchy from certain demise.

Between 1993 and 2009, the DNA of an unknown woman was found at over 40 crime scenes across

Germany, Austria, and France.

These crimes included home invasions, robberies, and the murder of six people.

In other words, a prolific female serial killer had been active for more than a decade.

In 2007, a policewoman was shot to death in the German city of Heilbronn and once again,

the DNA of this enigmatic killer was found at the scene.

Media dubbed her The Phantom of Heilbronn and based on eyewitness testimonies a facial

composite was produced of what was believed to be her male accomplice.

A reward of up to €300,000 was offered to anyone who could provide more information about this person.

But then in March of 2009, the mystery of The Phantom of Heilbronn came to an sudden

and unexpected resolution.

It turns out that the DNA belonged to a woman working at a cotton buds factory.

Meaning that the buds used by crime scene investigators to collect DNA samples had unknowingly

been pre-contaminated with this woman's DNA.

The police had been chasing a literal phantom for over a decade.

In the midst of the second World War in 1942, an Iranian boy found an orphaned bear cub.

The cub was later given to a band of Polish soldiers and he was eventually named Wojtek.

Over the next few years Wojtek would befriend and serve alongside his comrades in the

22nd Artillery Supply Company as they progressed throughout the middle east.

As a full grown bear he would acquire a taste for

beer and wine and supposedly developed a nicotine addiction.

A soldier of the company later recalled that Wojtek drank about two beers a day and he

would exclusively consume lit cigarettes.

If they were unlit he would just spit them back out.

In order to get Wojtek onto a transport ship in 1943 he was officially enlisted into the

Polish army with the rank of Corporal.

He would often help out by carrying crates of food and ammunition to the front lines

and at one point he caught a thief sneaking into the tent he happened to be sleeping in.

His image was later used as the official emblem for the unit and once the war ended he lived

out his life at a zoo in Scotland.

Multiple Wojtek monuments has since been erected and serve to remind us all that an alcoholic,

cigarette-smoking bear was a better human than most humans.

In 1992, an intern for a landscaping company was examining aerial photographs of Germany

when he spotted this.

The swastika-shaped tree formation was planted in 1938 but it's unclear by whom.

It's gone undetected for almost six decades due to the fact that it's exclusively visible

during a few weeks in autumn when the recoloration of the leaves would contrast the surrounding pine forest.

However, it is no longer visible as the trees where eventually cut down in 2000 fearing

that Neo-Nazis may otherwise converge upon the forest.

But this is not an isolated incident.

This was found in the 1970s and yet another swastika was found in the 1980s.

There's an extremely dangerous chemical compound known as dihydrogen monoxide.

In its purest form it is odorless, tasteless, and colorless.

Our often polluted lakes, rivers, and oceans are known to harbor vast quantities of the

stuff and many have lost their lives to dihydrogen monoxide contamination.

Under certain conditions it may cause severe burns and blisters and inhalation of large

quantities is often lethal.

Thousands die every year as a direct result of this deadly chemical but despite the health

risks, it is still being mass produced and remains readily availably to large portions

of the population.

It's been detected in every major city, every restaurant, every hospital, every school,

and places such as the amazon rain forest as well as the north and south poles are the

most adversely affected regions.

Worst of all, research has found that because dihydrogen monoxide is so omnipresent,

it has now made it's way into our genetic makeup.

In fact roughly 60% of the human body is made out of dihydrogen monoxide.

Also known as H2O or by it's more conventional name, water.

I don't know if I managed to fool anyone because this intentionally deceitful and alarming

description of a common substance has been a frequent prank for decades but it has lead

to some interesting political mishaps.

In 2004, the US state of California attempted to ban the production of dihydrogen monoxide

before they eventually realized they were attempting to ban water.

A member of the New Zealand National Party fell for the hoax in 2007 and wrote:

"Does the Expert Advisory Committee on Drugs have a view on the banning of this drug?"

To which they bluntly replied:

"Dihydrogen monoxide is water."

In 2011, during the Finnish parliamentary elections, someone asked candidates if dihydrogen

monoxide should be restricted due to its adverse effects and 49% of candidates answered yes.

It's not so much a hoax as it is a test for ignorance and to see if people know how to use Google.

In modern times a barber has become synonymous with a person who cuts and grooms the hair

of men but in Medieval times a barber had a much more expansive range of responsibilities

and would cut everything from hair to limbs.

For a barber was also a surgeon.

A popular medical practice at the time was something known as bloodletting which is when

some of a patients blood would be drained in the belief that doing so would invoke a healing effect.

And this practice fell within the occupational responsibilities of the barber.

So when people felt sick they could pay a visit to the local barber's shop, roll up their sleeves,

and then squeeze a special stick as to make their veins more prominent.

The barber would then wind a bandage around the arm, make an incision, and blood would pour into a basin.

And this procedure is the reason you'll often find these rotating poles outside of modern day barber shops.

It's unclear when this practice began but the tubular shape is supposed to represent

the vein boosting rod, the knobs represents the brass basin,

the white represents the bandages, and the red represents the blood.

In 1745 it was decided that one should distinguish between the services provided by a barber

and a surgeon and thus surgeons would continue to use the white and red pole while barbers

would use a white and blue variation.

The white, red, and blue variation, which is popular in the US, is a bit of a mystery

but could be a result of good ol' Americanization.

This is chaos and confusion.

This is as uncertain as it is ever going to get.

There are 17 rockets falling in on the compound right now.

The sirens are going off, and I'm sitting in this bunker with these five other soldiers,

and we're just kind of looking as each other going "is this it or not?"

But if it is, the piece that has guarded my heart through the Reformed faith and my mind

is, "Lord, I know with assurance, I'm going to be with You.

I don't have to guess.

And it will be painful for my wife and children, but they don't have to guess."

My name is Jim Carter.

I'm the pastor of New Presbyterian Church in Pompano Beach, Florida.

I served in the military for about 23 years on active duty and roughly about two years

in the Reserves.

Right on the border between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, I had four months, with me, the soldiers,

camels—the whole nine yards, and I said, "Lord what can I do?"

One day in the middle of the desert, there was mail call—and as you have heard stories

about the military—mail call is a big deal.

And so I showed up, and they gave me this huge box, and I opened it up, and there was

Holiness of God and Developing a Christian Character.

I think the soldiers greatest need is really what everyone's greatest need is, and that

is to come to a realization that they are lost without the love of Christ.

I was deeply appreciative and indebted to Dr. Sproul as my seminary professor, but also

as a person who is impacting my life and hundreds of others out in the middle of the desert

in 1991 and has done that ever since.

For many years we've had a profound concern here at Ligonier to do whatever we can to

help our chaplains out there in the field.

You know better than we do how important that is for the military to be fully equipped with

all of the necessary instruments that they need to engage in their mission.

An army can't travel unless it's fed, it can't fight unless it's armed, and yet at the same

time, there are many other profound concerns that need to be addressed.

They need to be fed spiritually, and some people say that what we do here at Ligonier

is a mess.

Will I hope in military categories, it will be messy, a useful mess—food that can be

used to strengthen the soldiers in the field.

Our videotapes, our books, our Bibles all of these things are designed to be tools for

you to carry on your mission.

And we want to do everything we can at Ligonier to put those materials in your hands.

So whatever you need, please contact us and we'll do everything in our power to let you

get what you need to do your job.

Lotus da 1ª vitória em Mônaco | Relíquias de Ayrton Senna | #SennaTV - 004 - Duration: 6:21.

I'm Rodrigo França, this is Senna TV,

and today we have a special gift for Ayrton Senna fans.

This is an amazing privilege.

I'm at the family's archive.

They have kindly allowed us to tape here, exclusively for Senna TV,

to show you a few Ayrton Senna treasures.

Have you guessed what this is? Let's take look.

Check it out, guys. The 1987 Lotus.

It has so much history.

I'll show you each detail of this car.

This is really cool. Let's start with the rear wing.

Take a look at how F1 cars were made back then.

We're talking about 1987.

And this car, frankly, wasn't among the best.

Senna pulled off a few miracles, like winning the US Grand Prix…

His first win in Monaco was also with this car.

You can tell the wing is super reinforced.

After all, these cars had turbo engines.

So, there was a lot of aerodynamic pressure

going at more than 300, 320 kmh.

You can see the adjustment system.

It has two blades.

We're trying to convey the feeling of seeing up close

the car that won the '87 Monaco GP.

The floor is really hard, of course. It's an F1, it has to withstand a lot of pressure.

And the size of the rear wing is really impressive.

Nowadays, cars have much smaller wings.

This car has huge wings and lots of stories to tell.

And this is really interesting.

This thing goes straight into de braking system.

It's a cooling device, which is vital.

When the brakes overheat they lose efficiency.

Check out the size of this tire.

This is an original Goodyear tire, used by the cars back then.

Now, F1 wants to go back to wider tires, like they were in the '80s.

Personally, I think that the larger the tire, the faster the car looks.

So, this was really cool.

This is the front tire.

This is interesting. The rear tires, of course, are always larger in F1.

This one is smaller.

This is the wheel mount that made for a quicker pit-stop.

Back then, tire wear was a huge issue.

A driver could win a race by choosing not to stop, or by skipping a pit-stop.

And I found this funny. I didn't know about it.

I just saw this detail, which I'm going to share with you on Senna TV.

Goodyear printed a warning here.

"For Racing Purpose Only", it was just for racing.

"Not for highway use".

Meaning you couldn't use them on the road, in the USA.

Well, thanks for the warning.

I wasn't planning on putting these tires on my car,

but it never hurts to let people know.

Any Ayrton Senna fan already knows, but it' bears repeating:

the 1987 Lotus was the first one with a Honda engine.

And Senna had an amazing partnership with Honda.

Besides the races he won with this car,

he won three world titles with McLaren.

So, when Senna left Lotus for McLaren, he took the Honda engine with him.

It's really cool to see "powered by Honda"

on an Ayrton Senna car from the first year he raced with a Honda engine in F1.

In 1987, Lotus also came out with a surprising livery.

The bold colors, the bright yellow,

very different from the black and gold of the previous sponsor.

As you can see, there was lot of room dedicated to the sponsor.

This was a very famous logo, back then.

And check out this little detail inside the cockpit.

Ayrton Senna drove this car. Amazing, right?

And fans are familiar with this number. The #12 marked several years in Senna's career.

He won his first title at McLaren also driving a #12 car.

So, this number means a lot to fans.

Of course I'd love to get in and take a picture inside the car.

But the boss is the boss.

So, we'll just very respectfully reach into the cockpit

to touch the steering wheel and the shift handle.

But first, I have to put on these gloves. After all, the last driver who drove this car

was none other than Ayrton Senna.

Nowadays, all these buttons are here

On this one, there's just "Team Lotus", the car manufacturer.

This is the radio button.

Back then, he had to press here to talk to the team.

That was a lot of work,

because the driver had to take the hand off the wheel.

You'd have your hand here, and then move it to press the radio button.

Now, this button would be here, for instance. You'd just press it and talk to them.

Check out the shifter, guys.

Very short, making for fast movements,

since each gear shift could take a few precious thousands of a second.

They used a manual gearbox, back then.

This is where he shifted gears.

And all these functions can currently be found on the steering wheel.

You shift gears by pressing paddles behind the steering wheel.

Back then, they used a lever.

The rear-view mirror is another interesting detail.

Ayrton used it a lot, because it was the only place where he saw his rivals.

There was no one in front of him.

So, he was always looking at the mirrors.

It moves. It isn't broken. It was actually flexible.

I doubt there's something similar in Formula 1, today.

But this was very important, because, at the time,

they didn't have all the telemetry,

the team wasn't able to give them a play by play of what was happening in the race.

So the rear-view mirror was important, and you could adjust it.

Desenvolvimento de uma Tecnologia Nacional Automatizada para o Revestimento de Tubos de Caldeiras... - Duration: 5:29.

Development of an Automated National Technology for Coating and

Fabrication by Welding of Boiler Tubes and Associated Welding Technologies

(José Piotrovski – ENGIE BRAZIL – Project Manager)

The most critical element in a coal-fired power plant

is the evaporator, also called boiler.

(João Facco de Andrade – LABSOLDA/UFSC – Mechanical Project Team)

The tubes wear can take place basically by two mechanisms, corrosion and erosion.

In the regions where it happens in aggravated and faster way,

it needs to be properly monitored to avoid fails

which can compromise the boiler operation.

(Prof. Régis Henrique Gonçalves e Silva – LABSOLDA/UFSC – General Supervisor)

This water boiler coating application in thermoelectric boilers exists all over the world

and also in a diversity of technics to apply these coatings from the process

based in MIG/MAG process to the versions with LASER process

and the plasma process.

(Prof. Jair Carlos Dutra – LABSOLDA/UFSC – Project Coordinator)

The project contributions were in the sense of improvement of the boiler

panels coating procedure, not only panels but also single tubes.

In the past it was made by manual procedure and nowadays we developed an equipment

to automatize all this process.

It is made with equipment which was developed here (LABSOLDA) and

also under the development of special procedures with new arc welding technologies.

So, in terms of welding a process was developed, a version of the MIG/MAG process

with great controllability of the metallic transfer and the own electric stability.

In relation to the mechanical project it was developed a robotic manipulator with 5 axes,

5 degrees of liberty, and high dynamic capability.

In terms of electronic, all the control of the robot parts and the software were developed,

with proprietary human-machine interface and all the system integration.

The result in short and long term of this project is that we created means for

faster and efficient maintenance with the long term result.

For validation and development of the equipment it is important always to test it

in many different scenarios.

So, besides the various coating tests which were made in the laboratory,

an application was also made at the thermoelectric complex Jorge Lacerda in ENGIE's workshop,

where a 3 meter panel coating was made. In this application we could see numerous

opportunities to improve that helped in the development and in the obtainment of the final system.

(Alberto Bonamigo Viviani – LABSOLDA/UFSC – Doctoral Student of PosMEC)

To use the procedure in the flat position we had to develop a whole apparatus to

rotate the tube with the manipulator, making possible the favorable positioning

to material deposition, which in this case would be the flat position, avoiding the

horizontal position, which would be the traditional without the panel rotation.

This facilitates the coating application and also ensures the finish material quality.

A counter-buckling system was also implemented, which makes possible that

the panel becomes practically rectilinear after the coating process,

which propitiates the easy implementation of it on the installation moment at the boiler,

which is not so easy when the panel stays very buckled due to the coating.

The project success can be seen in the procedure developed by LABSOLDA

in comparison with our manual technics already used in earlier procedures

and that it [the project] is bringing us a higher availability of the units.

The project, so to speak, can be considered a success not only by the equipment developed,

but also by the staff training that today I can say are capable to execute

this kind of work, because an automatic equipment by itself can do nothing

without a good well trained team.

3 Awesome Ways from Music Theory to Music - Jazz Guitar Lesson - Duration: 7:11.

(guitar playing)

- Hi everybody. My name is Jens Larsen.

In this video, I'm gonna show you three ways

that you can take some really simple music theory

and turn that directly into guitar licks.

So, if you know what a major scale is,

what a pentatonic scale is,

and how to find the third of a chord,

then you can use all three of the ideas

that I'm gonna go over in this video.

The first idea is to use

the arpeggio from the third of the chord.

So, I'm gonna do all my examples in the key of C major

and I'm gonna use two different chords to demonstrate them.

So, I'm gonna use the D minor seven chord

and the C major seven chord.

If we take a D minor seven, you probably know already that

if you're playing over a D minor seven chord,

you can use a D minor seven arpeggio.

So it'll be this arpeggio:

And you can also look at the third from this arpeggio,

so that's an F

and then take the arpeggio that's following that.

And in this case that's an F major seven.

If you compare those two arpeggios,

then you'll see that the D minor seven is D F A C

and the F major seven is F A C E.

So they're actually the same notes except for one thing.

In the first one, we have the root, the D.

And in the second one, we don't have a root

but we have the ninth, which is an E.

So we're pretty much playing the same notes.

We just added an extension.

So that's a nice way to get some more colors

into our lines

and a line with that might sound like this:

In this line, I'm starting with the F major seven arpeggio.

And then I'm running down

And then up again in the D minor scale,

something that we'll get to in a bit

and from there, I then repeat the F major seven arpeggio.

And then ending on the nine to really emphasize that.

If we do the same with the C major seven chord,

then we get from the C major seven arpeggio

and then the third, which is an E.

And then we have an E minor seven arpeggio.

So again, the C major seven arpeggio is C E G and B

and the E minor seven is E G B and D.

So we're playing the same notes except we have a nine,

instead of the root.

A line with this could sound something like this:

So in this line, I'm mixing up a lot of things.

The first part of the line is

actually straight out of the A minor pentatonic scale,

which of course works really well

and it's all the C major pentatonic scale,

so it works well on a C major seven.

And the second part is, first the C major seven arpeggio

and then an E minor seven arpeggio.

And then really bringing out the nine at the end again.

Whenever you learn something new,

it's really important that you also try to incorporate it

so that you can use it together

with all the other things you already know.

So it shouldn't be so that if you learn something new,

then it's isolated and you can only use that.

You really wanna mix it with all the other things

that you use when playing over a chord.

And that goes for this, as well.

So you wanna use both the C major seven

and the E minor seven arpeggio.

The second idea is that

whenever we have a minor seven arpeggio,

we can also use the minor pentatonic scale.

So if we look at a D minor seven arpeggio, D F A C,

and D minor pentatonic, that's D F G A C,

so they're the same notes except

in the pentatonic scale we also have a G.

But that sounds just fine on a D minor chord,

so like this.

A line using the minor pentatonic scale

could sound something like this:

You wanna mix everything up that you know.

So, I'm just starting with the F major seven arpeggio

because now we have that in our vocabulary.

Then I'm descending down the minor pentatonic scale,

skipping down.

And then I'm doing this exercise in playing,

it's kinda like playing the minor pentatonic scale in

diatonic triads because we get, first,

the stack of fourths from D

and then the F major triad,

ending on the root.

So let's try and use the same approach on the C major seven.

So the C major seven arpeggio is, of course,

not a minor seven arpreggio.

But the arpeggio from the third E,

which is an E minor seven arpeggio is:

And that means that we can actually use

the E minor pentatonic scale.

That would be this one:

A line using the E minor pentatonic scale

over a C major chord

could sound something like this:

I'm just starting first again, with

a line coming straight of the E minor seven arpeggio

and then we get this line on the E minor pentatonic.

So using this, sort of stack of 4ths

and ending on the nine of the C major.

The third idea is to use leading notes.

So, we already have the D minor seven arpeggio.

And before each of the notes,

we can actually add a leading note a half step below.

So that would be this:

This is not the kinda thing where you wanna

add all of them all the time

but you want to use them a little bit more sparingly.

So, use, put a leading note

in front of one of the arpeggio notes once in a while.

That could sound like this:

I'm starting on the third,

then I'm adding a leading note onto the root.

And then just up the pentatonic scale,

down the arpeggio, then another leading note,

this time for the seventh.

And then, using the arpeggio from the third,

so that's an F major seven arpeggio.

And then down to the root and then ending on the fifth.

If we do the same for the C major seven,

so we have the C major seven arpeggio here.

And then adding leading notes would give us:

And a line with that could be something like this:

I'm using lead note for the third

and then I'm just running up the minor seven arpeggio.

So the E minor seven

then another pentatonic fragment,

leading note for the seventh,

then down the major seven arpeggio,

and then ending on the ninth.

As you can tell,

I'm really mixing and using all the three ideas

in the examples for this video.

I think you really wanna work on that.

You wanna incorporate everything new you learn

and use it alongside all

the other things that you already know.

So that it really becomes a part of your playing.

If you wanna check out more stuff on jazz guitar,

An interview with a real live Cisgender™ | I Don't Trans It Ep. 1 - Duration: 7:48.

Okay, hey everybody!

Uh, today, I'm here with Alayna Fondleher, is that -- ?

Alayna: Fondlehim.

Riley: Fondlehim.

Alayna: Fender, Fender!

Are you sure?

I'm sure.

Okay, I had some questions, because this person, I believe the word is cisgender?

You are cisgender?

Female.

Simply female.

But you were assigned female at birth --

-- I was born female.

-- still female?

Obviously.

Oh, okay.

When did you find out you were female?

I don't understand the question.

Like when did you have the realization?

You know?

That moment, where you just know?

I've just always been female.

I don't understand, how have you always been female?

Like there was never a moment where you were like, "Maybe there's some male in there."

Not like, post, but like male the sex.

*Laughter* I'm female!

I wore dresses as a little girl.

Do all females wear dresses?

Is that like only a female thing?

You know -- I feel -- I'm not quite sure where you're going with this, Riley.

I'm just asking the questions!

I'm just trying to get to the bottom of it.

Or the top.

You're just really interested in me and my story.

Yeah, I think it's fascinating.

I've like never met one of you in real life.

A woman?

A 10?

No, like a cisgender woman.

Like, it's like an internet thing, you know.

It's like tumblr made it up.

It's not like a real thing.

If I'm honest, I've never heard of this cisgender business you keep referring to.

Do you know what transgender is?

Transgender is like when you're a person and you take the bus, or the subway, and you are

a gender on those things.

Transgender.

Have you ever taken public transportation? In your life?

Yes, yes.

And, you have a gender --

-- I mean, not since I got famous.

No?

But you have a gender.

You're a woman, you're a girl.

Correct.

So would you say that you're transgender?

Not anymore, I'm famous.

So only poor people are transgender?

I mean, that follows the logic, yes.

Okay so, transgender is when someone feels different than the gender they were assigned at birth.

So someone like says you're male at birth, and then you feel like a woman.

So they just -- they saw your genitals and just got it wrong.

They just made some assumptions, they weren't right, and you realized it later.

So kind of like being gay.

Yeah, but gay is like a sexual orientation.

Whereas transgender is like a gender.

So gay, straight, that's like who you're attracted to.

Gender -- transgender, cisgender -- it's like how you feel --

-- who you're attracted to.

So my gender is female, and my sexual orientation is female.

I believe you've called yourself straight before.

Are you straight?

I am straight.

Right, so that's your sexual orientation.

Then your gender is cisgender.

Cause you were assigned female at birth and now you feel female.

So we've established like the basics of like what you are.

But now I'm curious, like --

-- which is famous.

As a famous Cisgender, um, have you had any like genital surgeries?

That's kind of a rude thing to ask someone on an interview and stuff --

-- I mean it's like, it's just, like, how am I supposed to know?

Like, I can't just look at you and --

-- I just told you!

I just told you!

Yeah, but what does that say about your genitals?

Like, I need the specifics of it.

Okay, alright, we can't talk about genital surgery, but what about like medication, like hormones.

Like are you taking anything -- ?

-- What kind of interview is this?

I'm just curious!

I'm just trying to learn about you, the wild Cisgender.

Look a duck! Can you see the duck?

Aw, duckie!

Aw, look at the duck!

Riley: Wanna come over here? Alayna: Wanna come over here?

Riley: Omg he's gonna eat us.

Alayna: What? What do you want? You think I have food? We don't have any food for you.

You have a boyfriend, yes?

Yes.

Yeah?

Yeah.

Is he okay with it?

Like is that a thing that he's comfortable with?

Is he ever embarrassed about it at all?

No, he's attracted to women.

Like, even cis women? Are you sure?

I mean, I think so.

We've been together for years.

Yeah? And he like knew the whole time?

I think we just met and he found me attractive and I found him attractive.

That's so cute, I just -- I love when people like that are able to come together and find

someone, for them.

I'm happy for you.

You do YouTube things, right?

Yup, yes, I do.

What's your YouTube name?

MissFenderr.

Did you choose that because it rhymes with cisgender?

I wanna get back to the boyfriend cause this really interests me.

How do you guys have sex?

Why are you acting so, like, shocked?

Like, that's just -- I'm just curious how, like, the genitals --

-- I just wonder like what kind of interview this is.

I thought this was just gonna be like an interview about me and my life, and like me --

Yeah, your life.

Your life is, like, sex with your boyfriend.

That's like, it's a part that happens and like I don't know how it happens, and I'm

just genuinely curious.

I just don't think that's any of your business -- why does that matter?

How do you and your partner have sex?

I just feel like it's your job to educate me.

Like, everyone knows how I have sex, like I'm trans, like that's normal.

But like nobody knows how you -- like it's a huge mystery.

Like nobody has access to Google in 2017.

Which bathroom do you use?

Like, there's the men's and the women's, like --

-- well, I use the women's.

You don't get, like, weird looks or anything?

I just, I feel like you're probably more of a man, and you just, you think you're still

a woman, but like you're probably not.

Like you're probably just doing it for fun, for like the attention and stuff, so like

you could just use the guy's bathroom, like it's fine.

I mean, I use the men's bathroom if the women's bathroom line-up is too long.

Oh, so do you use the men's bathroom sometimes?

If there's like a single stall and there's no one else in there and there's a line-up

for the women's one, like why not just use the men's?

It does kinda sound like you're faking the whole cis thing then, if like you would use

the men's bathroom.

Like, maybe you are trans.

What do bathrooms have anything to do with it?

Cause, like women use the women's bathroom and men use the men's bathroom.

So if you've ever used the men's bathroom, like, you're probably trans -- probably a

trans man.

Have you been to a therapist about your gender?

No!

Nooo!

Well then how do you really know?

I just do.

I just know.

You can't just diagnose yourself with cisgenderism.

This has been great.

What've we learned today?

Um, I've learned that there's a lot more to being female than I thought there was.

Thank you so much for joining me.

I feel like we learned a lot.

I got a lot of good information out of you -- even though you wouldn't answer some of

my questions.

But it's fine, it's fine.

It was good.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you.

You're welcome, I guess.

I have a lot to think about.

Apparently I have a therapist to see.

But yeah, so anyways, guys, this is Alayna --

-- Oh yeah, hi! --

-- she's actually not a terrible person.

No, and not famous either.

And I do use public transit all the time!

Omg!

Caught!

Fake!

Exposed!

Thank you so much for being on my channel and going through this whole ridiculous kind

of back and forth.

No problem!

If you're watching this and you made it through the whole thing and you were pissed at one

of us, I promise that was all fake sarcastic stuff --

-- at one of us!

You know, somebody, in particular.

Yup.

But yeah, it was all fake sarcastic stuff --

-- all fun and games --

-- I just wanna make that clear, completely.

And yeah, head over to Alayna's channel, she's wonderful.

Aw thank you!

We're in Palm Springs right now at a little conference thing, and it's been super fun!

Yeah!

Weeooo!

Yeah, thank you guys so much for watching!

I love you all!

And I'll see you next time!

Byeee!

I mean, there's been some mail in there if you know what I mean.

Where have you put mail?

In my female vagina.

You need a first time for everything.

That's a horrible thing to say.

Yeah!

I thought we were friends.

You take public transit!

Ah, you got me there.

Cisgenderness, I don't know what's the appropriate term you people like now.

I like felt mean saying it --

-- no no, that's -- I Don't Bi It is like yeah.

Can we look at your genitals to know what gender you are?

*Laughter* Another wild cisgender passing through!

My channel's just about like me and my life --

-- Your cis life.

Like all your cissing around.

There's so much of the representation everywhere.

They did that one show.

Cisparent.

Like, what?

I don't even know what to -- I'm really getting a taste of my own medicine here.

I'm like okay, I can see.

Riley: Whoa.

Alayna: Whoa.

Riley: No.

Alayna: Whoa.

Both: Whoa.

This is awful.

Elvis Presley - I'll Be There - Spliced Take 2,3 ( New Intro) [ CC] - Duration: 2:30.

I'll be there when all your dreams are broken

To answer your unspoken prayer, oh...

The little things you're doin', don't turn out right

Don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

There whenever you need to know

That there is someone who cares, oh

So if your new love isn't your true love

Don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

Oh, there whenever you need to know

That there is someone who cares, oh

So if your new love isn't your true love

Don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

Don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

Don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

Ooh, don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

Ooh, don't you worry, darlin', I'll be there

TCC at HCC: "Math doesn't have to be a barrier" - Duration: 0:53.

Hello.

If you have ever said to yourself, I don't like math or I'm not good at math, or you're

feeling concerned about returning to the math classroom, then give yourself some credit

because I can almost guarantee you that you know a lot more math than you think you might.

One thing that I always tell my students when they're doing certain kinds of math problems

is to think of money, because it's something that we're used to using every day.

And that can be very uh, helpful in solving a lot of the math that we do that leads to

higher level college math.

So put down your worries, come in the classroom, and enjoy.
