I'm Carlos Corresa, Xmile's colorist, and you see me via Skype

because I live in Qatar.

My job is to modify and improve the film, unifying their color

and also making them look more attractive.

This task is getting more important in the film industry

because of the cameras, they shot in a flatter way.

This means that, at first, we can't see the image's contrast or saturation

but later, with our tools, we give them all the saturation, contrast

and a style, which sometimes is hard to believe how great it can look.

The colorist looks very closely to the shots.

Frame by frame.

Sometimes we notice shooting mistakes that are pretty hidden.

For example, in Xmile, the wide shots.

The fabrics behind Lilith were in a different position

compared to the close ups, so we had to add more fabrics digitally.

In preproduction, the communication with the director of photography

is very important to figure out how the film is going to look.

Many times, the colorist is also in set.

We are doing tests to check that the images are perfect.

Also, we use to process final render of the film,

the file that will be screened at cinemas or TV's,

so we are known as finishers as well.

lab we try to do the left smile makeovers because we think that anybody

that's sitting there with the smile is holding them back he's not living their

full life I think that we were able to show this young lady that you have a

choice

hey guys I met the airport today we're flying to Rapid City South Dakota this

young lady is 28 years old two kids since she was 18 years old she's had a

smile that she's been embarrassed oh she gave me a story that said I went to the

dentist and tried to get something done before it got worse how do you tell mom

it 18 or 20 years old that it's gonna cost $18,000 or we can't do anything for

you and then let them leave and continue to be embarrassed we don't do that

anywhere else in society we don't do it anywhere but she had gross embarrassment

and nobody has helped her there's got anyone to turn to what we're hoping is

she's gonna get a new smile that it goes well said she gets to see herself in a

better life does she's young enough to where I don't think her kids have seen

her smile I don't think her husband sees her smile hopefully it'll all go well

follow me as we go along and I'll see at the end of this trip

with the airport we got it we made it Rapid City South Dakota is sunk as a

true treasure if anybody's not been here they don't look it up but this whole

thing wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for Lori

she took it last minute we called 40 different places and they kept saying no

we can't do that much work no we don't want the responsibility but not working

no it may be a few hard and Lori said come on in if you have a need we're

gonna help you take care of it and she did it and you want to talk about a

first-class operation

when I heard y'all were coming I was very ecstatic and excited and nervous

but I was ready for a new smile I've seen you change already like what I see

is what I knew I would see and when this magics done the whole village should

have been here first since you were 18 can you tell me what happened what

caused oh um I said the dentist told me he Winston he believes its genetic yeah

my mother had very bad teeth too after I had my first child

they just started getting really brittle but I'm telling you just being happier

and just seeing you here from when I saw you walking in it's a difference of

half-full or half-empty everything was two or three times harder than we

thought it was gonna be with more to do it wasn't just let's start and get

finished

oh man I think that having a new smile will bring me out of the house more and

take me to do things with my children and actually be able to go out and have

dinner or have a drink with my husband on a weekend weekend not not being able

to smell has brought oil and depression in my life and anxiety from it I can't

enjoy plenty of things with my kids and my husband and you know just as much as

small as sitting around watching a comedy and they're laughing and I'm not

laughing because I don't want to show my teeth I would tell people at home that

you're never too old to have a great smile you're you can always improve

yourself I think if I could go back and tell myself something I would say to

brunch straight to the dentist and get something done right now or it's gonna

they're gonna be ruined in no time and when they tell me $18,000 I thought um

I've got about three thousand dollars I can afford I was upset and

I felt small I felt like there was nothing else I could do he's I felt like

the dentist didn't even care that I was he could tell that I was self-conscious

right and I felt like he didn't even care even when it's time for us to go

out and have dinner and things like that I want to get dressed them and I want to

fix my hair and they enough but I don't because I feel like there's no point

whether I put it on or not much smaller but they're still gonna be very oh I

wish every day I think about it every day that I wish I would have been able

to do this sooner I believe that with a new smile always be having more makers

oh my hair done and I have a feeling that my wardrobe is about to get bigger

I'm very nervous but excited

give it going all day huh

and so if you don't mind this one is our model version okay scale

amazing that's my mom that's my wife that's my god

something that's my best friend if she had a long time with the sentencing that

you deserve $18,000 was not your only option you

should have had a better choice the middle I shouldn't be I should meet you

before you look like a poor boy your daughter she's gonna can you imagine an

example just how radiant woman about my mom my mom decided to come back

she's four please don't you see what I see oh yeah you know what

I'm very excited I can't wait to my kids near my husband

I have to tell you that very impressed with the young lady that we worked with

you know all we ever see from the from the people who we pick is in their life

smile as people that we think would actually have a lot of potential if they

had a new smile and I can tell you that hopefully you'll see in the video that

this young lady has a lot to say and a lot to do and she has a whole lot to

offer at the end we get to meet a family and one of the most beautiful families

you've ever met in your life

I feel real good about what we did today I have to say it was it was more of a

challenge than I thought it was going to be we had a situation where we came in

and saw the town and Mount Rushmore was amazing

I get the feeling that if you come in the summer you'll never leave but I also

get the feeling that if you come in the winter you probably won't ever come back

you know there's a lot of scenery here a lot of things to do is a good good good

trip it's quick in-and-out we had a great time but the job that we did was

tough and to always train yourself to smile without showing your teeth it's

just not good we've seen it in the past for people whose daughters aren't used

to seeing them smile and we know it's grown upset and you know your babies

learn how to how to interact based on how they see you interact and I saw this

young girl walk in is an average mom that have been neglected with not a

whole lot of extra you know people say that yet you know cosmetic teeth are

just I mean the looks of your teeth are just cosmetic but that is so incredibly

wrong and I don't know how else to say it it did everything you could do and

it's amazing that the smile can do that little bit of a thing imagine what it

cost her not to have it for ten years and her she is somebody that everybody

should proud of and now you can tell her husband is already thought of her you

can tell her family thinks the world of her this is the kind of smile makeover

that we want to do we hope that you're impressed with her before-and-afters we

I've been recently reading a book about Marthe Robin

and I realized at some point

that the uniqueness of her life,

the amount of miracles and unusual things around her, make me feel a bit anxious.

For example: this woman lived for several decades only by the power of the Eucharist.

She did not take any food nor drink of any sort.

This uniqueness of her life

raises some kind of fear in me.

Perhaps it is also true for you and you are thinking:

these things which I read and hear about sometimes

in the Gospel, in the biographies of the saints frighten me.

I'm afraid of it, I'm afraid of these singularities, some esotericism.

I am a rational person who just wants to live a decent life,

do not waste this life, do some things right.

Today we're meeting Joseph, who is also afraid to accept Mary,

whom he learns to become pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

Perhaps it is some kind of trap,

into which our enemy is trying to lure us,

trying to show us God

as some sort of weirdo, a miracle man who may do things to us we do not even know,

so it is better to keep distance to anything religious.

This may be a sort of devilish trap.

Ben Modified's Tiny House Build Episode 2 - Duration: 10:53.

this is part two of the tiny house build and I'm going to cover building the

trailer at this point. Got all the steel laid out on the floor and what I've

done to begin with is I've used this piece at the beginning and a piece at

the backside there and those will eventually (excuse me) those will

eventually go diagonally across the bottom of the trailer up towards the

tongue on both sides but for right now because the floor and here is unlikely

to be flat or level I'm going to shim underneath these so that I have zero

degrees in both directions which I'll check with the digital level right now

it's point one which is awfully close so it won't take much at all on that one

once I've got that all squared up, leveled up I should say, I've used a line

cut in the concrete foundation, just as a rough starting

point to line this one up. I'll line up the other side with it. I'll square it

all up. I've got a variety of measuring devices here we've got some levels some

squares and then back here in the back, this will be the back side of

the trailer and this is the underside also. I'll use this to (that way) to cut

both of the side rail and the back rail at an angle where they fit together

so we don't have an opening at the end it's actually stronger that way as well

well, I went ahead and clamped the rear most crossmember (it goes across the back of the trailer)

into the clamp, just to hold it still. It is small enough to get up

there. And what I did was, I used my square and drew a line, cut it all the way around with a

porta band which is essentially an electric hacksaw. I went ahead and cut it

all the way around and then I came back and used the square and laid it across this direction make

sure the top and the bottom touch there that way I know that I've got it

properly cut all the way thru and when I put the two pieces of tubing together, there won't be any gaps.

And what i am doing to get it square ..I've got this large carpenter square...and I always cut this tip off of it

so if I have any tack welds or anything in the middle here

I can still slide it up in there..and nothings in the way.

well I've got the angles cut. Next I need to use an angle grinder and grind off

the mill scale around all the edges, bevel them a little bit and then

start tack welding them together. I used a porta band to cut all these

joints. This is from Harbor Freight..uh, made in China

but I've had national brands before which, unfortunately, are also made in China and

this was about half the price... my last one broke (my last national brand) broke

and could not get parts for it even from their repair center. So even though the

saw still worked I still had to basically buy a new one. Went with the

Harbor Freight.. about half the price. Cutting this 3/16 steel.. did a pretty

decent job, probably asking a little too much of it, but all in all I'm pretty

happy with it. Well, I just spent another three hours on this took a lot of time

to make sure that I got the four corners which are now welded, lined up really

well. I checked dimensionally from the back corner to the front corner, back

corner the front corner they're within an eighth of an inch, so very close. I put a

digital level on it I'm within point one degree on all four pieces.

so I've got it kind of mocked up now. I've got some of the supports in place

and keep in mind this is upside down right now. Just got the axle on some

jack stands and just need to make sure that in the event of a flat tire that I

can squeeze the tire and wheel out from under the home. So far looks

okay so I'm going to do some more measuring and get back on it tomorrow

well these panels are supposed to take three to four weeks to get produced

as it turned out it took about one week so we've got a call saying they were

ready so I took a 12-hour break from working on the trailer and saved myself

$1,200 in a delivery fee and went and picked them up

I've got the axle in its final position. It's clamped in place, just need to weld

in the mounts for the front and then start creating a mounting system for the

the back, to where it will move the leaf spring up and down in order to set this

down on the ground, but the trailer itself is mostly coming together. We've

got a piece to put in the front from here to there and then back around to

the other side. Do that in a bit and a little bit of bracing in the back. I'm

going to position my freshwater tank and the two group 31 house batteries behind

the axle underneath what will be some furniture, built in furniture, so that is

why the axle is a little bit further back than normal on the trailer because

I'll have that ballast back there. As it is, even with where it's sitting, I can

still pick up the front of the trailer pretty easily, feels like there's about a

150 pounds of weight on the tongue right now so and that's offset later it'll be

really well balanced and actually I'll be able to move those around to

determine their placement so I should really be able to come up with a nice balanced

trailer that's just a little tongue heavy for good handling

So much fun!

long time ago we talked about the stereotype perhaps outdated outmoded of

the chiropractor is that somebody who says I'll straighten you out and then be

back in a week but that's never what it really was you work in some cases with

people with chronic conditions that you just have to manage but there are other

people that you work with that are healing while taking the chiropractic

visits and can eventually you know be to the point where they're better

well let me speak just towards chiropractic in general it can be

analogous to a stretching regimen it can be analogous to physical therapy to yoga

to Tai Chi to doing maybe even taking vitamins so sometimes you do need to do

things on a very regular basis and if somebody comes in with the torn-up back

a work-related a car accident or something like that Joe yeah they may

need to come in more more commonly so I just want to speak toward chiropractic

and some of these other modalities sometimes that is necessary even

medications you know you have a prescription for antibiotics because you

have an infection right so the doctor says look you don't need to come in

three times a day but I want you to take this pill three times a day you're going

to take that for two weeks kind of analogous to that

certain modalities and tools that now with you know how fast the UPS and

mailing system is we can send her stuff I could consult and we're

getting great results even from people who are what we call remote

not far for our local patients instead of coming in two or three times a week

we're actually able to do it much much less and now Joe we're getting better
