- That's what we're doing! - Looking cute.

So, Andrew. You're very creative. That's one of the staples of your channel.

How do you come up with ideas for videos?

There are a lot of ways that I come up with ideas.

I keep this running tally of all the things I wanna try out some day

and I categorize them.

For people starting out, what top 3 things should they know?

In terms of putting out content, the more the better.

You never know what's going to take off or how someone's going to find you.

The more ways they can find you, the better.

Something I think a lot of us have to learn is that we all

have to define our own success.

It's very easy to get caught up in the numbers of subscribers or views.

It's important to know why you're doing it,

what you're hoping to get out of it, and also know it's being true to yourself.

This actually is my number 2 tip!

The 3rd thing was just creating with whatever you have.

I remember when I started I got so caught up in the quality.

I thought I'd save until I could afford a DSLR before I'd start posting videos,

because I don't want to put up webcam stuff or whatever.

Ultimately, I would have reached more people faster and sooner

if I'd just worked with what I had and put stuff out.

Sometimes you worry as an artist that you won't have

any more ideas later... But you will!

So it's just getting what's 'now' out there.

So I was just drumming along on the back of this chair

and I think I might record it and add it to the track.

Understanding why people watch something...

If I'm in my car talking about topical content, they're watching it

because they want to know what's going on and what my opinion is.

They don't necessarily care that it sounds or looks the best.

They want it to be instant.

You have a really unique community and way of interacting.

Do you want to talk a bit about that?

I think that because I've been so open about

who I am the whole time, as I'm going through things

there's not a lot of distance between me and the audience.

They feel like we're friends and I'm constantly in contact with them

on Twitter, Facebook, in the comments.

And it goes beyond 'Thanks for watching my video.'

I'm genuinely concerned for the things they're going through.

I feel like the older sister. 'How do I take what I've learned, put it

in a package that makes sense, and make it not as serious as it is?'

How do you decide what you're going to put out?

You have 2 channels, so where's it going to go?

How does your audience respond to that? Are they segmented?

When I first started, one of the things I did was Request Tuesday

because I needed to learn how to play guitar

and people would ask me to play certain songs.

And I said I'd invite them into the content.

Recently I've been doing more daily stuff.

I have a format for certain days and what those are.

I leave some days open to whatever I want.

I trust that, at this point, they like my personality enough

that they'll follow me to the music, the daily content,

the Church of Tonjes and the advice stuff...

They just want to see me making stuff.

On some videos, people say 'This doesn't apply to me, but I like you.'

I take this as the biggest compliment.

Time to fill the vape.

You get a lot expected from you in the military.

You have to always be ready.

You have to trust who's around you.

They have to be able to trust you.

A lot of times after we completed missions,

whether it be searching buildings, running a convoy,

taking incoming rounds, it was almost expected.

Everybody was "smoke them if you got them,"

which was a common phrase.

2013, without me knowing, I had seven heart attacks.

And so the seven heart attacks, obviously, I

had to start changing my whole way of health, food I ate,

what I did, exercise, definitely had to quit smoking.

That was, obviously, most likely a big contributor to it.

I felt cold.

But I was sweating.

And I just knew something major was wrong.

But I didn't want to accept it.

I thought it was just my work injury.

I needed surgery, blah, blah, blah.

And finally, they were pretty persistence

and said we need to bring you to the hospital,

have you get checked out.

I'm like, fine.

They tied me up, you know, put me in the room.

And doctor came in, asked how I was doing.

I was like, you tell me, how am I doing.

And he says I got a lot of respect for you.

I was like why?

He was like you were 100% blocked.

If you waited another hour, you would have died.

You know projects like these, I think, are more needed.

They should have more of them like this.

It's not about how many circles you can blow

or how big you can blow.

It's more about people on my side, the vaper,

trying to establish a foothold on the benefits of vaping.

With me, I'm not smoking anymore.

Started out as the homeless guy, joined the military,

had an extravagant awesome career,

was a federal police officer, awesome career, again.

And now I'm a retired vaper.

I'm retired and I'm vaping.

Who'd thought being a homeless guy,

having two established careers, and now I just happily vape

and my health is better.

There are many small reasons why I decided not to return to substitute teaching this

school year, but there are three big ones that I think you might find valuable in your

own life at some point in the future.

The first and the biggest reason why I quit substitute teaching is because I just didn't

believe in it anymore.

This is somewhat of a cliché, but it is very true.

If you don't believe in the thing that you're doing, then eventually it's gonna drive you

insane.

If you're a regular viewer of this channel then you already know what I'm talking about.

Sch-Sch-School is a joke!

And in my three years of working as a substitute teacher, I wasn't shy about sharing that viewpoint

with teachers and students.

You see, when I wanted to be a full-time teacher and I was actually applying for full-time

jobs, I thought that my experience could be different.

I thought that once I had my own classroom I could teach the students the things they

need to know to succeed in the world as it is today.

From semester to semester, year to year, subbing in the same classes for the same teachers,

I noticed that there were none of them making a solid effort to innovate the teaching profession.

And it's not always the teachers fault!

They're just as restricted as the students are.

Teachers have no freedom to teach the things they want.

Teachers have no freedom to change the lesson plans from day to day.

Teachers have no freedom to help students succeed in the 21st century.

They have to follow the nonsensical directions that come from above and, by extension, as

a substitute, so would I. I don't believe in that, though, as is evident

by this entire channel.

A while back I made a video asking if I was living a lie by saying that school's a joke

while going to work in a school every single day.

I knew it was just a matter of time before my lack of belief in school kind of ruined

the whole experience for me and that happened at the end of last school year.

And, yes, over the past three years there have been some really positive experiences

that I had while substitute teaching and I know there's a small group of students that

understood the message I was trying to bring and their lives may be better for it.

At the end of the day, though, it's not healthy to keep doing something that you don't really

believe in and I REALLY don't believe in the school system.

The second big reason why I quit substitute teaching is because, for me, it became a dead-end

job.

I knew I didn't want to be a teacher anymore, I knew I didn't want to work in any other

area of the school, and I had learned pretty much all there was to learn about being a

substitute.

I knew what to do, I knew what not to do, and I could recognize certain students from

a mile away.

And I don't mean that I knew their faces.

I just meant, based on their behavior, I knew what kind of student they were gonna be and

I knew what tactics to use to deal with that type of student.

Really, though, if you substitute teach for a year, you're taking a job every single day,

then you're gonna know pretty much all there is to know about substitute teaching.

And after a while, it just gets to be boring.

You see the same patterns over and over and over again.

In fact, the reason why I stuck with it so long is because it was fun, in some ways.

It was fun to go into the classes where I knew the students knew that school was a joke

but they still did the work anyway because they're just playing along with the game.

That sort of class was fun so I guess what I'm saying is I stuck with it so long because

of the people.

The people that I work with, that is, the students and some of the teachers, were pretty

good people.

And the pretty good people far outweighed the pretty bad people.

But that's not enough to stay in a dead-end job.

There was nowhere to go, either up or down, and that's why I quit.

And the third big reason why I quit substitute teaching: the money is just not that great.

One of the top questions that I got asked as a substitute was how much I got paid.

In the high school that I worked at the most I got paid 96 dollars a day.

The other two high schools that I would go to in the area maybe once or twice a year,

I got paid 85 and 90 dollars a day.

But sticking with that 96 dollar figure because that's where I worked 99% of the time, that

works out to be about $13.72 per hour.

Truthfully, that is not bad at all for something like substitute teaching, it's easy money,

it's good, available part-time work and, you know, if you have your sub certificate, you'll

never be unemployed... unless you do something horrible.

There's a big but, though: it's school and a school schedule is not full-time!

First, school is only in session for 180 days a year, at least in the Northeast United States.

Secondly, in a normal job, you would work Monday though Friday, four times a month,

so 20 days a week, and if you work Saturdays, that's just extra money.

In a school system, though, it's very rare that you get consecutive five-day-a-week weeks.

There's always some staff meeting, some holiday, some school closure, not to mention snow days

or other sort of weather related incidents where you can't go into work as a substitute.

That's the thing that really kills the income is that you don't get paid unless you show

up, which is normal for any job, but as a substitute there's even fewer chances for

you to work because there's even fewer days that work is even open.

That's not to mention that you have to be lucky like I was to have a district that was

short on subs where you could get a job every single day as long as you click the button

on the app.

And third, there are parts of the school year that are great as a student—I loved them

as a student—if you're depending on income from a school schedule, Easter, Thanksgiving,

Christmass, New Years, all of those major, fun holidays, you don't make any more.

So that $96 a day doesn't really add up.

And that's the third big reason why I quit substitute teaching.

And who knows, I might wind up doing a sub job here and there if I have a day off on

my regular full-time job.

But, for the time being, I quit substitute teaching and I'm wondering if there's anyone

Pretty much since Donald Trump was sworn in as president of the United States, experts

have been giving their opinions on his mental stability or, rather, his mental instability.

He's exhibited signs of possible narcissistic personality disorder and some experts say

he's actually exhibiting signs of Alzheimer's disease because his mental faculty seem to

decline later on it day, which is a hallmark sign of Alzheimer's.

Nonetheless, experts all over the country have been offering their off-the-cuff, off-the-record,

diagnoses and usually these get dismissed as some kind of liberal conspiracy theory,

trying to invoke the 25th amendment.

However, this week, Alex Jones, good friend of Donald Trump, has offered his own theory

as to why Donald Trump is clearly having these mental declines every day.

Take a look at Alex Jones' explanation of what's actually happening to Donald Trump

behind the scenes.

Alex Jones: Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen.

I was told this by high level sources that it was evident, and especially after Reagan

was shot in his first year in office when he was acting like Trump and doing the right

things, that he never really recovered.

They gave him cold blood in his transfusion that causes brain damage.

They slowly gave him small amounts of sedatives.

It's known that most presidents end up getting drugged.

Small dosages of sedatives until they build it up.

Trump's such a bull.

He hasn't fully understood it yet, but I've talked to people, multiples ones, and they

believe that they are putting a slow sedative that they're building up that's also addictive

in his Diet Cokes and in his iced tea and that the President, by 6 or 7 at night, is

basically slurring his words and is drugged.

They first had to isolate him to do that, but yes, ladies and gentlemen, I've talked

to people that talked to the President now at 9 at night.

He is slurring his words.

I'm going to leave it at that.

I've talked to folks that have talked to him directly.

Speaker 1: That's right, folks.

It's not anything that we need to take seriously, like perhaps a mentally unstable president

or somebody who is suffering from Alzheimer's.

No, no, no, no, no.

He's drinking drugged Diet Cokes and it's just kind of sedating him so that he goes

to bed or that he's more easily controllable by the government that he's actually running.

Look, there's quite a few holes, obviously, in Alex Jones' theory here.

But what's more interesting is the fact that his audience absolutely eats this up.

He even has a Trump confidante, Roger Stone, spouting these same talking points that, yeah,

Donald Trump is clearly being drugged late in the afternoons to help him be more pliant

and make him a little more restful.

Now, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest any of this.

Jones says that he has high level sources giving him this information.

But this is also the same man who argued in court that his entire persona on the air is

just an act.

He doesn't mean any of it.

He doesn't believe any of it.

It's just a character that he's playing.

But the real damage here, there's actually two sides of this damage.

One is that it undermines a very serious issue and that is, is Donald Trump mentally capable

of fulfilling the duties of the presidency?

The second is that it poisons the discourse among American citizens when you have a large

part of the country that will believe what Alex Jones says and will honestly think that

the President is somehow being drugged with his Diet Cokes or whatever drinks they're

able to fill him up with.

This is not acceptable here in the United States.

What's even more unfortunate about all of this is that there are no laws that say that

Alex Jones could be prosecuted for this or that we could shut him down because he's spreading

these hateful and politically hurtful lies every day.

You can legally do that, unfortunately, in this country.

I think that's an area of free speech that perhaps we ought to consider curtailing when

it causes real harm to the American public and to American political discourse.

Alex Jones is a cancer to American politics and he needs to be removed.

We cannot have intelligent discussions in this country.

We can't have discussions about very serious issues like Trump's mental faculties, climate

change, school shootings, because you have idiots out there like Alex Jones who want

to offer up their crazy conspiracy theories and get their followers to go along with it,

undermining the overall issue and preventing real progress, real change, or even real discussions

about this that we actually need to be addressing.

Alex Jones is responsible for that and it's time to pull him from

the airwaves.

Jeep Wrangler Raxiom 50" Slim Straight LED Light Bar (1987-2017 YJ, TJ, JK) Review & Install - Duration: 4:15.

This Raxiom 50-inch Slim Straight LED Light Bar is for those of you that have a 1987 and

up Wrangler and are looking to add a 50-inch LED light bar to your Jeep but aren't interested

in one that's as chunky and clunky as those more traditional double-row LED light bars.

This, of course, is a slimmer version of those light bars.

This is going to be a single row of lights, so you are going to get a little bit less

light output from this light bar.

However, if we're being honest with ourselves, the light output that you get from a dual-row

50-inch is more than most of us need.

This is even going to be more than what most of us need.

And, in my opinion, this looks a lot better on most Jeeps than those double-row bars do.

So if you prefer to look at this, if you're okay with the slightly lessened light output,

I think, this is going to be a pretty nice option for you.

So for the installation, I am gonna give this a two out of three wrenches because of the

wiring that's involved.

Actually getting the bar itself installed is a very simple process if you're going to

purchase one of the brackets which again, most of you are going to do and I would highly

recommend doing.

Now Raxiom certainly isn't the only one making a slim LED light bar like this one.

However, I do like the Raxiom brand because they build a quality product at a more affordable

price.

Now you can get a slim light bar like this that is two, three, four times as expensive

as this one is and you might get a little bit more light output, a few more lumens,

throw a little bit further down the trail in front of you, but you are certainly going

to pay for that.

And on the flip side, you can get a much less expensive 50-inch light bar.

You can get a slim light bar like this, including a harness and a bracket for $100, but chances

are you're gonna end up with condensation behind the lens, burn-out individual LEDs

or a light that doesn't work at all in a short period of time.

So I think that this is going to be a really nice balance of value and price.

So as far as the construction goes, this is an extruded aluminum housing with a polycarbonate

lens.

This is going to have 50 LEDs that run across it that are going to give you your light output.

This is going to come with a pair of feet that you can drill and install this wherever

you choose to.

However, the vast majority of you are going to wanna buy a bolt-on 50-inch LED light bar

bracket, so that you can install this without the need to drill anything into your windshield

frame.

This light is also going to come with a two-wire pigtail which is pretty traditional these

days for auxiliary LED lighting.

You are going to have to either make a wiring harness, purchase a wiring harness or take

your Jeep somewhere to have this wired up and installed for you if you're not comfortable

with automotive wiring.

So for the installation, I am going to give this a two out of three wrenches because of

the wiring that's involved.

Actually, getting the bar itself installed is a very simple process if you're going to

purchase one of the brackets which again, most of you are going to do and I would highly

recommend doing.

That way you don't have to drill anything and it makes the install a breeze, so all

you'll have to do is pull a couple of bolts out of your windshield hinges, off the brackets

in place and drop the bar on to the brackets.

Once that part's done if you are going to do your wiring, you'll have to get your switch,

your fuse, your relays, all your wire together and get a switch to 12 volt source up to your

pigtail on your light itself.

If you're purchasing wire harness, you'll have to pull the wires on the right places

and check all the proper connections.

And, as I said before, if you're not comfortable with automotive wiring, that's okay too.

Just take this to a shop and they'll wire it up for you.

This light bar is gonna run you right around $350 and I do think again that that's a very

fair price.

With this bar, you are going to get a quality light bar.

You're gonna get a ton of light output, probably more than most of us need.

And, aesthetically, I think this looks a lot better on the Jeep.

If I were to purchase a light bar, this is the amount of money that I would be comfortable

spending and it's going to give me the look and the functionality that I'm after.

So if you're looking for a slim 50-inch LED light bar, I would definitely recommend looking

further into this one from Raxiom that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Simplifying Expressions With Roots and Exponents - Duration: 8:23.

Professor Dave again, let's practice simplifying expressions.

We just learned what roots and radical expressions are, as well as the basic rules for how to

manipulate them, so now it's time to practice simplifying expressions containing radicals

and exponents. Let's go through a few examples and highlight the strategies we must use in

each case. First let's try something simple, six X cubed Y, quantity squared. When we say

the word quantity this way, it's to distinguish between a whole term or set of terms undergoing

an operation rather than just the last thing mentioned. If I had simply said six X cubed

Y squared, this is what that language would imply, with the squared applying only to the

Y, but by inserting the word quantity, we can communicate the presence of these parentheses,

and the fact that all of this is being raised to this exponent. The first thing we must

understand about exponents that operate on parenthetical terms is that while they do

not distribute across sums or differences, they do distribute across products and quotients.

In other words, A plus B quantity squared is not equal to A squared plus B squared.

For example, five squared is twenty-five, but if we change five to three plus two and

try to distribute the exponent, three squared plus two squared is nine plus four, or thirteen,

so we clearly weren't allowed to do what we did. To evaluate the square of a sum, we

need another technique that we will learn later. But A times B quantity squared is indeed

equal to A squared times B squared. This is easy to prove, because AB squared is AB times

AB, and since multiplication is associative, we can shuffle these around to get AABB, or

A squared B squared. So we can look at this term and rewrite it as six squared times X

cubed squared times Y squared. Now we continue to simplify. Six squared is six times six,

or thirty-six. For X cubed squared, let's remember that X to the A to the B is equal

to X to the A times B, meaning that we multiply the two exponents together. That means X to

the three times two, which equals six, or X to the sixth. And Y squared stays as it

is. So we are left with thirty-six X to the sixth Y squared.

Let's try a trickier one. We have four X cubed Y times this fraction in parentheses,

three X Y squared over two X cubed, all of which is squared. The first thing we want

to do is distribute this exponent over everything in the fraction. If the whole term is squared,

then each individual term can be squared. Three X Y squared becomes nine X squared Y

to the fourth, and two X cubed becomes four X to the sixth. Now we can combine like terms

for this term on the left and the numerator of this fraction. Remember that when multiplying

a fraction by a number, the number only multiplies the numerator, and this is no different. Four

times nine is thirty-six, X cubed times X squared is X to the fifth, and Y times Y to

the fourth is Y to the fifth. Now we can simplify a bit further, since thirty-six divided by

four is nine, and X to the fifth divided by X to the sixth is X to the negative one, since

five minus six is negative one. This is the same as leaving X in the denominator, because

X to the negative one is the same as one over X. So we are left with nine Y to the fifth

over X. How about this one, X to the sixth over 64

all raised to the negative two thirds power. There are a few ways to approach this, but

let's first address the fact that the exponent is negative. If this were a single term, we

could put one over the term and then make the exponent positive, the way we said that

X to the negative one is one over X. But since we already have a fraction, let's just flip

it over. If we turn this upside down, we can change the exponent to positive two thirds.

Now, as we recall, raising something to the two thirds power is the same as squaring it

and taking the cube root in some order. Since it's easier to work with small numbers,

let's take the cube root first, making sure to do it for both top and bottom. The cube

root of sixty-four is four. The cube root of X to the sixth, which is like X to the

sixth to the one third, is equal to X to the six times one third, which is two, so we get

X squared. That takes care of the denominator of the exponent, so now we just square the

top and bottom. That leaves us with sixteen over X to the fourth, which can't be simplified

further. Let's try another, ten A to the two X plus

Y power divided by two A to the X plus Y power. Here we can see that ten over two can be done

separately, which gives us five. Now to deal with this part of it, again we can just use

the rule for dividing some base raised to two different exponents; we just subtract

them. So A to the two X plus Y over A to the X plus Y gives us A to the two X plus Y minus

the quantity X plus Y. This only works because A is the base in both terms, if the bases

were different, we couldn't do this. Then remember that we have to subtract the entire

exponent in the denominator, so we need parentheses to do this. The negative sign will then distribute,

leaving us with A to the two X plus Y minus X minus Y. Combining like terms, Y minus Y

goes away, and two X minus X leaves us with simply X. So the final answer is five A to

the X. How about this one. Three X squared root thirty-two Y squared minus four Y root

eighteen X to the fourth. First with the roots, we can't take out thirty-two, but if we

make it sixteen times two, we can take out a four and a Y. We can combine like terms

to get twelve X squared Y root two. Again with the other term, eighteen doesn't work,

but nine times two means we can take out a three and an X squared, and combining like

terms gives us twelve X squared Y root two. These terms are the same, and anything minus

itself is zero, so this whole expression actually simplifies to zero. I think by this point

we get the picture. Even when expressions seem very complicated, we just go one step

at a time, simplifying according to the rules we know for manipulating roots and exponents.

Hi, my name is Ken, and I'm in sunny Alberta. I am a retired graduate

electronics engineer. I've been using computers all my life. I had lots of time

I was first drawn to Neil Squire because my brother. He had become a

quadriplegic at a very early age and I worked with him and watched him learn

all about computers and become a great contributor to society through his work

with computers. My favorite ones are the ones where I feel I somehow lifted the

fog a little bit for them and they have what I call "oh" moments where they say

"oh, that's what it means" or "that's where the screen went blank" or "that's how you

do it." That's where you know I feel that I'm doing something that they wouldn't

have got if they've just been sitting in the classroom or watching something on TV
