Youtube daily report w Sep 20 2017

Hey There.

I want to take a quick break from Yemen to point out some really great news.

The wave of Radical Islamic Terrorism is Receding.

About a year and a half ago I made the prediction that the falling oil price would lead to a

decline in Jihadi terrorism.

This prediction comes from one of the central ideas of this Everybody's Lying About Islam

series.

"Radical Islamic Terrorism" or whatever you want to call it, isn't about the Koran,

or religion, or thousand year old religious texts.

It's about the amount of money that certain Gulf countries have to pile into funding Islamic

extremism worldwide.

Islam isn't the problem.

Saudi Arabian Islam is the problem, and it's oil money that fuels that poison.

I have gotten a lot of pushback on that.

Most of the anti-Islam critiques I get in the comments are cut and pasted from a few

sources.

There are two sources that bigoted commenters use more than anybody else.

The first is Dr. Bill Warner, a guy who holds PHDs in Physics and Math but has set himself

up as an anti-Islam Guru for some reason.

The degree to which he abuses history is extraordinary.

He relies on an audience that doesn't get history from any other source.

I may do a video about him at some point, but I recently published an answer on Quora

that dismantles much of his work.

You can find a link to that in the description.

The other source is the Religion of Peace.com.

This website claims to provide a comprehensive list of terror attacks across the world.

It's pretty nuts.

The vast majority of the incidents come from active war zones like Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.

The website claims that it is dedicated to the idea that Islam presents an ideological

threat to human dignity and freedom.

The list of atrocities is supposed to be a big part of that project.

But Including all these deaths in Iraq and Syria, that have as much to do with George

W. Bush as they do with Islam isn't particularly fair.

The religion of peace website is being dishonest to prove a point.

It is weirdly useful though.

A year and a half ago I claimed that the fall in the oil price would result in a fall in

Jihadi terror worldwide.

Gulf Money fuels both the attacks in the West we talk about, and the attacks in the Non-Western

war zones that we don't talk about.

Interestingly, and for the worst reasons, the religion of peace website has provided

a great metric to judge my prediction by.

So let's see how I'm doing according to the most islamophobic data set imaginable.

In 2014, the year oil prices peaked, 33,463 people died in terror attacks supposedly attributable

to Islam.

In 2015, the figure was 27,595

In 2016, the figure was 21,237

And in 2017, we've only got 10,526 deaths.

We're only three quarters of the way through 2017 so let's estimate that we'll end

up with 14,034.

So deaths have fallen by almost two thirds over just four years.

There will be more terror attacks, and some of them are sure to be spectacular.

But it's worth looking at recent attacks in a little more detail.

Trucks are now the main weapon of choice.

The money necessary for large networks and expert bomb attacks is no longer there.

The failed attack in London this past Friday is a great indication.

A poorly made bomb failed to explode.

Terrorism funding is falling with the oil price.

Hilariously, even the most Islamophobic data set available shows that this is the case.

"Radical Islamic Terrorism" is fading away.

This is great news.

Terrorism, the oil price, and the US-Saudi relationship, I suggest you pick up my essay

Walking by the sea shore

The brunette girl with a hat,

Purple dress and brown eyes.

Watering her feet

Is a scene that fascinates me.

Seated I admire the brunette from Ipanema.

When the dusk come I´ll remember you.

When the dusk come...

when the dusk come I´ll serenade you.

Joyful glance of the star in my sky.

She smiles while she sings her song written in a piece of paper.

Today we´re gonna travel. We´re gonna realize our dreams.

Sailing on our own in this world of enchantments.

Let´s let the love grow. I wanna be with you.

Let´s let...

Let´s let the love grow brunette of my existing.

I lived alone for so many times waiting for you.

Dance with me in the moonlight my eternal pair.

In the opening of my eyes the sun warms me. I´m not dreaming. Good morning, my air.

Your kisses lead me to fly.

Top 10 Super Powers You Didn't Know The Joker Had - Duration: 6:15.

Powers you didnít know Joker Had Hey guys!

Welcome back to Top 10 Nerd, Iím Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey.

We all know the Joker; the silly clown-like villain whoís also a homicidal maniac.

While he generally isnít the superpower type and tends to rely more on various poisons

and gadgets, he has shown a number of powers over the years, some that endured and some

that lasted only a short time.

Not enough people know about them, so Iíve compiled a list of my faves.

Now SMILE!

Itís time for the Top 10 Powers you didnít know Joker had!

Number 10: Pain resistance.

Weíve seen Joker get beaten down time and time again, and yet the guy keeps coming back.

His complete disregard for pain leads many to believe that he has some sort of resistance,

and potentially feels no pain at all.

Take, for example, that time he let Dollmaker remove his face just to make a point.

Itís POSSIBLE that heís just so insane that it was worth it for his strange reasons, but

I think itís more likely that he just doesnít feel it.

And after all the crap heís put his body throughÖ I canít really blame it for going

ìscrew it, Iím turning ALL the nerves off, youíre a jerk.î

Number 9: Knowledge of the 4th wall.

This might not exactly be a superpower per se, in that he doesnít really use it to help

him, but it certainly shows a high level of awareness.

Knowing that there are people watching him does explain some of his antics, and shows

him to be totally aware of his situation.

We see this from time to time in the Animated Series, where he often speaks directly to

the camera, or to the invisible viewers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-AgWNDAM0Q (5:42)

Number 8: Immunity to Poison.

Years of dedicated abuse of his body has caused Joker to be immune to all kinds of poisons

and toxins.

This helps him to be unaffected by his own gas but also allows him to resist the effects

of other chemicals like Scarecrowís fear gas.

This is, of course, incredibly useful for a guy whose main MO is chemical weapons, and

also helps him to avoid capture or death by poison.

Heís basically Wesley from Princess Bride, but instead of Iocaine powder, itísÖ well,

everything.

Number 7: Immortality.

Thatís right, for a short time Joker was immortal!

In a Judge Dredd crossover, Joker invaded the universe of Judge Dredd, and managed to

bargain with the Dark Judges, Death, Fear, Fire, and Mortis.

In exchange for helping them to escape their prison in exchange for immortality.

He did it, and he became the immortal Judge Joker, only to get kinda bored of it and go

back home to his mortal life.

At first it sounds sorta silly, but when you really think about it, do you really think

Joker would be happy with an easy life without Batman?

Neither do I. Number 6: Superhuman timing.

This one is far from confirmed, but it goes a long way to explain Jokerís success, despite

his seeming lack of concern in most cases.

For the record, this was first brought to my attention by reddit user Codoro, so I canít

take credit for the idea.

But itís pretty cool.

You know the most important thing to a comedian?

Timing.

And it seems that rather fittingly, the Joker has amazing timing.

He always seems to be in the right place at the right time, and no matter how close to

defeat he may be, he always seems to come out on topÖ Except when that damn Bat is

around.

This explains both his incredible success as a villain, and his hate for Batman; he

throws off his timing, and nobody likes a heckler!

Number 5: Super Intellect.

Hereís one thatís probably better known than some of the others.

As insane as Joker comes off, itís hard to deny that the dude is one smart cookie.

His laughing gas is one-of-a-kind, and the fact that he created it shows incredible prowess

in chemistry.

Heís also shown himself to be highly knowledgeable in human psychology, having thoroughly manipulated

countless people either to use them to his advantage, or just to mess with him.

His plans are also often incredibly cunning, sometimes pulling the wool over the eyes of

Batman himself.

Granted, sometimes his plans work because theyíre just so insane and unexpected, but

the there is clearly a good deal of intelligence trying desperately to claw its way past the

more insane thoughts.

Number 4: Tactical Genius.

Not only is the Joker a scientific and psychological genius, but heís proven himself to be quite

the tactician.

Whether heís setting up a trap for his favourite caped crusader, or escaping Arkham Asylum

for the umpteenth time, he definitely knows how to make a plan.

If Jokerís behind bars, chances are itís all part of his plan, because he has an easier

time getting out of Arkham than I do finding my way out of the mall.

Number 3: Super Sanity.

This idea was popularized when Grant Morrison described it in his graphic novel ìArkham

Asylum: A serious House on Serious Earthî in 1989.

Itís a bit complex, but essentially says that the Joker has no real filter on what

he perceives.

While normal peopleís perception is altered by their own sets of beliefs, the Joker just

goes with the flow, in a way reinventing himself every day.

It isnít that heís a madman who just wants to watch the world burn; he just takes in

information and does what comes naturally.

It just so happens that what comes naturally is, ya know, killing.

And a lot of it.

This is an explanation that isnít accepted by everyone, but itís certainly interesting

to think about.

Number 2: Mister Mxyzptlkís powers (Mix-is-spittle-ick).

Man, I so did not want to include this point because I did NOT want to say that name, but

it had to be on here because itís pretty cool.

In the Emperor Joker story arc, Joker managed to get his hands on the vast majority of Mr.

Mís powers.

And if you thought Joker was terrifying normally, youíre in for an unpleasant surprise.

He rebuilt Earth in his own image, as he wanted it to be, and spent much of his time just

torturing Batman.

Even with 5th dimensional powers, all Joker really cares about is Bats.

Itís kinda cute.

Kind of.

Number 1: Making Batman not be sulky for a moment.

Iíve referenced this in past videos but I think itís worth another mention because

it was a pretty cool scene.

In The Killing Joke, Joker and Batman have a surprisingly chill discussion, where Joker

tells Batman a joke.

Itís full of subtext, talking about two inmates escaping an asylum, but the most shocking

part of the scene comes just after the punchline.

After a ripe pause, we see Batman not just wipe his grumpy face off, but even laugh.

Not a chuckle, not a grunt, a full on belly laugh.

And I gotta tell yaÖ it was unsettling.

But also extremely cool, seeing the pair laugh together like old friends.

Considering the dark knightís constant brooding, this might be Jokerís most powerful ability

of them all; even if the joke itself wasnít that funny.

Thatís it for today!

Hope you guys enjoyed, if you did please smack that thumbs up button and subscribe to Top

10 Nerd for more videos!

Can you think of any other powers the Joker might have?

Share your ideas in the comment section down below!

I look forward to reading them!

Until next time, Iím Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey with Top 10 nerd.

Don't be a [profanity] Who drops litter from cars? #WiseonWaste http://bit.ly/2jFMdlu - Duration: 1:16.

Q. Hi Janet. What issues have you been finding when you've been out today? Well, it's a weekly

issue of finding things in the middle of the road and on the gutters, that come

out of cars. We call them 'from the tossers'; things like cans, Greggs

packets - whoops - crisp packets, empty fag packets, things like that, bottles, and people

rather than keeping them in their car in a plastic carrier bag,

they think our streets are their bins. Now there are some lovely things

that you can buy on the internet. I have two of them just here. Here's one.

A little car bin. It's plasticised inside, it's got a bit of velcro on the bottom

which you can stick into your car and then you can put your rubbish in and every

day you can take it home with you and empty it. And here's example number two.

Deluxe model. With a lid to it as well. Again, waterproof inside and a little bit

of velcro on the bottom. What's better than that?

Q. And what would your message be to our motorists then? Don't be a tosser.

BOMBSHELL Flu vaccines don't work in the elderly, new science sh - Duration: 5:13.

BOMBSHELL: Flu vaccines dont work in the elderly, new science shows U.S. media

total blackout

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the same authority that determines

the national vaccination schedule, notes that those most at risk of complications from the

flu virus are children younger than 5, but particularly those under the age of 2; pregnant

women; people in nursing homes; and adults over the age of 65.

The elderly are therefore among the most vulnerable members of society when it comes to influenza.

It makes sense, therefore, to believe that the flu vaccination would need to be especially

effective for that demographic.

A recent report by Public Health England (PHE), however, has revealed that though it seems

to have been slightly more effective at preventing influenza among children than in previous

years, last years flu shot was totally ineffective for the elderly.

Experts believe that the shot was ineffective because it did not protect against the most

common circulating strain the H3 strain.

This is because the flu shot is essentially a game of chance each year; experts have to

try to predict in advance which three strains of the virus will be in circulation in the

coming winter.

Even in a good year, their strike rate is only 50 percent.

Of course, instead of admitting the uselessness of the vaccine, health professionals are blaming

the elderly themselves.

A representative of PHE told BBC News, As people age, their immune systems are often

weaker and therefore their bodies may not respond as well to a vaccine as younger peoples

bodies.

The U.K.s Daily Mail reports that instead of admitting defeat and encouraging seniors

to pursue proven, natural flu prevention strategies (more on that later), health officials continue

to punt the flu shot:

Despite the vaccines lack of success in the elderly, experts still recommend older

people continue to have the injection.

In other words: Its useless and we know it, but you need to have it anyway.

(Related: Keep up-to-date with the real developments in the medical community at Medicine.news.)

Even worse, medical experts have decided to double down on the insanity by introducing

high-dose jabs that work to boost the bodys immune response to receiving the vaccine.

In other words: Its useless and we know it, but dont worry because were going

to make it twice as effective (doubly useless), so you need to be sure to obediently keep

getting it each year.

(Related: Flu vaccine paradox spreading globally as more vaccinated people catch the flu.)

For those who are reading this with increasing alarm, there is good news: There are at least

four easy, natural and effective ways to work with your body to build up your immune system

and prevent the flu.

Sunshine: Experts have recognized that vitamin D3, a hormone which your body manufactures

when it is exposed to direct sunlight, kickstarts your immune system.

If you are not able to get enough direct sun exposure, get a blood test to check your levels,

and supplement if necessary.

Astragalus: This herb, a staple of ancient Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, is an adaptogenic,

which means it regulates your immune system up or down, as needed.

Start taking this supplement well ahead of flu season to achieve maximum results.

Echinacea and golden seal: Both of these herbs are powerful immune boosters, proven to prevent

the flu and other viruses.

Ask your natural health practitioner to prescribe the perfect dose so that you can be ready

for winter.

Lifestyle and dietary changes: If you arent already doing so, start including fresh, raw,

organic garlic in your daily diet.

Hydrating with pure, filtered water is also vitally important.

Sufficient sleep and daily exercise are also essential to building the immune system, as

is reducing stress as much as possible.

Of course, it goes without saying that those who are serious about optimizing their immunity

should avoid GMOs and increase their intake of fresh, organic fruits and veggies.

Monster Factory Presents: Just Like Art — CHOMP MOM - Duration: 8:06.

JUSTIN: Oh, oh, it's retracting its ears to give it more mouth strength!

JUSTIN & GRIFFIN: Oh god!

GRIFFIN: Hi, I'm Griffin McElroy.

JUSTIN: And my name is Justin McElroy,

and I've waited long enough to say this: I am an artist.

GRIFFIN: Well, we're both artists. But we're also the creators of Monster Factory,

a series in which we take your most beloved video games

and make terrible, terrible things inside of them.

Things that usually live on the Internet, but this time around

we have a more prestigious target in mind:

the big famous Museum.

GRIFFIN: Last time, I think we crushed it.

We made some truly poignant and moving —

I would say like, turn-of-the-century, sort of pastoral occult —

was sort of the direction we took it in.

This time, I'd like to explore a different genre.

A different medium, if we can.

JUSTIN: More, yeah, a dark period. Is this a different period for us?

GRIFFIN: I think we're entering our blue period. Somebody get this kitty its medicine, oh god!

I mean, do we start with the face and then get to the body?

That seemed to work for us pretty well last time.

JUSTIN: Right. The face is the window to the body.

GRIFFIN: Just like God said in the Bible.

Yeah see, this is kind of the direction that I'm — sort of a Five Nights at Freddy's —

BOTH: Oh my Christ child!

JUSTIN (laughing): What's in there?!

GRIFFIN: Can we get a zoom in and enhance? Enhance!

BOTH: Dehance, dehance! No!

GRIFFIN: Oh my god, it's like something out of Silent Hill.

Ohhhhhh, yes. (laughing)

Ohhhhh, yes!

I'll have what she's having!

No, I won't!

BOTH: Ohhhh, yes! Ohhhhh, Daniel!

JUSTIN: Lustrous, I like that.

GRIFFIN: Yeah, she got that Herbal Essence.

JUSTIN: Somebody got their snoot in the jelly, eh?

GRIFFIN: Yeah, somebody's got a little jelly snoot!

Oh, bad kitty. If my kitty got her snoot in the jelly I'd be so peeved off.

JUSTIN: Well...

GRIFFIN: Hey, it's having fun now!

"Oh hi there! I hope you put on your 3D glasses that came in this week's TV Guide!"

And then she snaps at you!

This, I mean, whatever she is, she has recently eviscerated.

It's definitely — she's fresh off a hunt, and

what's the point in getting cleaned up? It's just gonna get nasty again.

Oh! It literally just winked out of existence!

JUSTIN: We gotta rebuild. I don't remember any of this!

GRIFFIN: It's not gonna be as good this time.

GRIFFIN: Whoaaaa, I got erased?! Whoa! JUSTIN: Not me!

GRIFFIN: Why does surprise make the ears turn into a Mickey Mouse?

JUSTIN: By the way, football, if you're listening, you are free to use this as a new mascot.

GRIFFIN: Helllllll yeah.

JUSTIN: Intimidating and very forceful, but also, like... a little bit feminine.

JUSTIN: She's on a puzzle. She's doing one of those great Skyrim puzzles.

GRIFFIN: Fuckin' shit. This is — this might be art, like a little bit, maybe somewhat.

JUSTIN: It's veering into art.

We should put in like, 'Vox media called and they want us to put in a disclaimer here:'

'If you look directly into the mouth without the special glasses for too long, that's not on us.'

'Because you will lose your soul.'

GRIFFIN: Do we like the huge, huge powerful arms?

JUSTIN: I love it. I wish you'd uncross them, just let those bad boys go.

GRIFFIN: I've never seen hands be hateful before. But here we are.

JUSTIN: I do like that you're adjusting these sliders without putting the camera on the hands.

They're kinda attempting to no-scope.

GRIFFIN: Okay, I hate it. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

JUSTIN: I don't think that's art anymore. It's past art.

GRIFFIN: No, no, no, no, no, no. It's gonna take too long to fix all of em though. Ugh, Justin.

JUSTIN (laughing): Just leave it. Oh well! You know, art's messy.

GRIFFIN (laughing): You think Jackson Pollock was like, "Oh no, too many drippy drops!"

GRIFFIN: Shit. Yeahhhh, I forgot about that one.

GRIFFIN: Fuck. JUSTIN: (laughing hysterically)

GRIFFIN: No that's good! I don't know if those are her legs

or she's just wearing some fucking straight-up Juggalo JNCO situation,

but I'm super duper into it.

JUSTIN: But I still want this sword to look, like, ridiculous in her hands.

GRIFFIN: I want it to look like some big big anime bullshit.

JUSTIN: Yeah.

GRIFFIN: Alright hold up, let me count: one, two, three, four, five.

GRIFFIN: What's this finger?! JUSTIN: What's that doing?

GRIFFIN: One, two, three, four, five.

What's this finger doing? Who is it?!

God, I hope you understand that Todd didn't — this is not Todd's wish or dream.

JUSTIN (laughing): It's all Todd's plan. It's all Todd's grand design.

GRIFFIN (laughing): And he programmed it.

That's why it says, "SOS! Please, I'm Todd Howard, you've got to get me out of here!"

"They made me do a left scrotum and a right scrotum!"

Not being able to see her lower jaw is really, really something else.

JUSTIN: Chomp Mom! Powerful!

GRIFFIN: Hi, welcome to Skyrim. Here's fuckin' Groot, how's your game?

You havin' fun? You enjoying — I know it was on sale on Steam — you havin' fun?

Cause Groot's fuckin' you up.

This is the tutorial. Groot's gonna fuckin' fuck you up.

Welcome to Skyrim. I'm Todd.

What were you saying Justin about the uh, scale of the sword

and not wanting it to be too big?

JUSTIN: It's just... pretty...

...that's very anime, I think, for this.

GRIFFIN: Hey Faendal!

(Both laughing hysterically)

GRIFFIN: She's on the hunt!

JUSTIN: Come on, chicken! You're kid food now.

GRIFFIN (laughing): Now you're kid food!

JUSTIN (laughing): Hey everybody, your chicken's kid food!

GRIFFIN: Alright. So this tree can be like, in the background

JUSTIN: I'd raise a family here for sure.

GRIFFIN: Yeah this is good. This is good, actually.

So let's, um, let's set the scene.

So we need some wolf kids.

JUSTIN: Maybe like 50.

Yeah, this is pretty much rad.

JUSTIN: Hell yeah. GRIFFIN: Yeah this is very good.

GRIFFIN: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. BOTH: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

GRIFFIN: Do we want to get some venison, like we just are feeding the children?

JUSTIN: I love that.

GRIFFIN: Oh shit!

JUSTIN: That's rad!

GRIFFIN: This one motherfucker on the left wasn't ghost riding the whip!

God! We're losing a lot of good wolves.

Well now we need more kids, Justin!

JUSTIN: God. If this isn't parenting...

GRIFFIN: OKAY!

JUSTIN: Oh that's goooood.

GRIFFIN: This is gonna look real pretty hanging...

...just take down fucking 'Starry Night' cause that one's bullshit.

Who wants to see a bunch of stars? I wanna see Chomp Mom feeding her kids!

JUSTIN: That's new! Everyone's seen that other one.

ALIEN BASE ENTRANCE THAT THE GOV DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT! - Duration: 2:06.

ALIEN BASE ENTRANCE THAT THE GOV DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT!

The gap is big!

I imply its 500+ meters throughout, large sufficient for the US Navy to construct a

submarine base down there.

This is very large.

Many of us spotted UFOs occurring before, during and after major natural disasters such

as Hurricanes and tsunamis.

As we know tsunamis are a consequence of the immense energy released by the displacement

of these plates, forming giant waves that advance towards the coast at speeds of up

to 500 km / h.

If there are bases of extraterrestrial beings deep in the sea, they are very likely to know

beforehand when these natural disasters will occur.

Perhaps this is why reports about UFOs are more frequent in the affected areas.

In many of the reports of UFO sightings in the sky, the presence of OSNIs in the oceans

has also been recorded.

Is it possible to have an extraterrestrial submarine base?

If we consider that 71% of the surface of the Earth is covered by water, in the hypothesis

that aliens do indeed inhabit our planet, they are very likely to live in the unexplored

depths of our seas and oceans

Kids Pay the Price - Duration: 0:36.

I'm a social worker.

I would rather keep a child in foster care than allow them to be adopted by a gay couple.

I work with kids who need a home.

I believe if a child is gay or transgender, they should be placed with parents who will

work to straighten them out.

I believe that if you spare the rod, you spoil the child.

If a parent doesn't agree with me, I shouldn't have to let them adopt.

We have laws governing child services agencies for a reason.

When states allow adoption decisions to be based on a worker's individual beliefs,

rather than the best interests of children, it's children who pay the price.

HEALTHY VEGAN RECIPES + VEGAN SNACKS TASTE TEST // WHAT I ATE IN A DAY #81 | Mary's Test Kitchen - Duration: 10:38.

Hello friends and not yet friends,

Welcome back to another What I Ate Wednesday here on Mary's Test Kitchen, the trying to

be weekly show where share all my tasty vegan eats and everyday recipes.

I'm so happy that this week's show is being sponsored by my new favourite online store,

Thrive Market.

I'll tell you why in a bit but first let's see what's in the box!

Ok, I've already opened it and arranged everything so you can see it all pretty.

I ordered some fun vegan things that I've not tried before.

Mostly because these premium products normally have premium prices, if you know what I mean.

Luckily, Thrive Market sells them for way way less.

Got some pantry basics too.

I love that Thrive Market has their own store brand which makes some of these items even

more affordable.

Like these chia seeds.

Organic, sustainably farmed.

For 50% less than regular prices.

And if you check out the link in the description, you can get an even bigger discount but we'll

talk about that later.

With those I'm making one of my favourite little cozy drinks with fresh lemon juice

and thick juicy slices of ginger.

With hot water, you don't have to wait long for the chia seeds to plump up and get that

jelly effect.

Adding wee bit of maple syrup to that.

And it's so delicious.

You can't really taste the chia seeds, they're of a fun texture like in bubble tea, and they're

really nutritious.

Gots to get those omega-3's.

Y'all know, I use chickpea flour quite a bit but never tried the sprouted kind so I was

pretty curious.

Again, I got Thrive Market's own organic, sustainably farmed brand in recyclable BPA-free

packaging.

Garbanzos AKA chickpeas are are great source of protein, iron and good complex carbs so

perfect for breakfast. This recipe is kind of a vegan omelette.

Sort of.

You just mix the sprouted garbanzo bean flour with turmeric, ginger, chili flakes if you're

into it, and salt.

And water.

It makes a thin batter.

You might even wonder to yourself, "Is this too thin?"

The answer is no.

Let it sit for 5 minutes so the flour can fully hydrate and meanwhile, heat up a pan

with a bit of oil over medium heat.

I accidently poured too much oil.

I am clumsy so that happens a lot.

When your pan is hot, mix up the batter again and pour in about a quarter cup.

The layer should be fairly thin.

Then leave it the hey alone for 5 to 6 minutes.

The top will get dry to the touch and the edges will start to curl up and you'll should

be able to get your spatula under it pretty easily.

Cook this side for another minute and there you go!

Repeat with the rest.

Halfway, I decided to add some green onions to the mix.

You can add other herbs too if you wanted.

And then we have our stack of scrumptious savory chickpea or garbanzo bean crepes.

And I'm having those with some leftover garlic spread and salsa.

These would be amazing to dip in curry or use as a wrap too like dosa.

Leftovers can be refridgerated and you can just heat them up again and they are still

fantastic.

After breakfast, it's a bit safer to start tasting all the fun vegan goodies which are

super easy to find on the website because they have a vegan filter.

Just one click and you're shopping just the vegan stuff.

Predictably, I started with chocolate.

The chocolate is pretty dark, you guys know I prefer more milk chocolate like, but with

the smooth pb, delicious.

I kind of accidently ate an entire bag with only one going to my boyfriend so..oops.

Let's have fruit as a follow up.

This brand is so cool because they're fair trade, sustainably sourced, and totally naked.

Lpok at these ingredient.

That's right.

Just one.

Like dried fruit should be.

The mango tastes like mango fruit leather.

But I fell in love with the dried pinapple.

This is my new favourite snack in the world.

You know how in a bag of chips, there's one or two super flavoured chips that are incredble?

Well,in this bag, the dried pineapple is all delicious but there are some where you can

tell the pineapple was just super ripe and especially sweet.

They're amazing.

With all that sweet, you've got to balance with salty, right?

This is my first time trying Louisville Vegan Jerky which I have heard so much about.

This texture is so cool.

Very meaty texture, not stringy like I remember jerky being.

Although, it's been at least 6 or 7 years since I've had meat jerky.

It's really salty.

A bit more sriracha-y than maple-y.

Overall, I find it a bit too salty but that didn't stop me from eating half the bag.

I forced myself to stop so my boyfriend could try it too.

And he went and ate the rest of the bag.

He's not even vegan.

So now we have to get all the other flavours.

That was a lot of snacks so I didn't really have a real lunch.

But I wanted to try something else with the chia seeds.

A couple tablespoons of Thrive Market chia seeds.

The same amount of sunflower seeds.

A quarter teaspoon of salt.

And about half that of black pepper.

I'm blending just so the sunflower seeds get broken down some.

Then add three tablespoons of water.

Just mix it about.

Then dump that on to some parchment.

I know it looks kinda suspect right now but go with it.

Roll it pretty thin.

Then the parchment peels off super easy.

Make some cuts for cracker shapes.

Then bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 300°F or until they are totally crisp.

Just the salt brings out so much toasty flavour but I bet they would be good with nooch mixed

in, or onion and garlic and dill for a ranch type flavour.

So many possibilities.

And naturally gluten-free.

The easiest crackers I've ever made, quite possibilty the tastiest, and certainly most

satisfying and healthiest.

Seriously, you need to make them and tell me what you mix in and what you think of them.

I'm obsessed!

Speaking of obsessed, I'm actually obsessed with Thrive Market, not just because of the

deals and how awesome their website is to shop.

Their tagging system to filter what you want is super well done.

But I really respect them as a company.

They embody everything I want from a business in a being good people kind of way.

Their mission is to make healthy food accessible to everyone so they buy directly from suppliers

so you can get those health food products at affordable prices 25 - 50% off retail.

It's like a buying club so there's a yearly membership but you'll save so much more than

that cost.

Plus, they donate memberships to families in need.

Having grown up in a low-income immigrant household, I know how much that can mean.

Anyway, if you sign up with the link in the description now, your first month is free

(you can cancel anytime) and they're offering you 25% off your first order.everything

Plus free shipping.

Right to your door which, isn't that the greatest way to get groceries??

Guys, we're living in the future!

The future is bright, but not the weather right now.

Perfect chilly day for this dinner.

I'm trying the Pacific foods seitan and Hak's Paks thai green curry sauce.

The ingredients in the seitan is really different from other store-bought seitan, more whole

foods based which is nice to see.

There's a little liquid in there so be prepared.

Not like me, spilly mc spillerson.

The texture is quite soft, seems more beany than

my usual homemade seitan.

I figured I would brown the seitan first.

I should have taken it out of the pan but I just moved everything over to add my veggies.

Chopped carrot.

Then after a bit, broccoli and cauliflower.

The sauce is for one pound of veggies or other stuff and I have way more than that but I

rarely follow directions precisely.

So I added a little extra water to cook those veggie through.

And after 15 minutes, it was pretty well done.

I added a little soy sauce.

The sauce is quite sweet.

Tasty but sweeter than green curries I've had before.

Like I said, I should've taken the seitan out at first and added it in last because

it got pretty mushy.

That was dinner.

And that was my food day.

Is it REALLY necessary to eat every 2-3 hours for a faster metabolism? - Duration: 10:21.

I'm Coach Dan Long with Get Lean In 12,

and inside this short video today I'm

going to reveal if it's really necessary four

to six small meals per day to lose belly fat.

And I'm going to accomplish this by talking

about intermittent fasting.

This is one of the hottest trending subjects in the weight

loss industry right now, and there's

all kinds of conflicting information

out there about proper meal timing

and how fasting fits into the equation.

I'll simplify it all right here today.

If you're watching this do us a favor

and put your name down in the comments below

and tell us where you're from.

My name is Dan Long.

I'm an internationally known fat loss expert

who, over the last twenty years, has trained

numerous well-known professional athletes

and celebrities from baseball and football players

to a-list actors.

I've even started a nationally televised fitness reality

TV show last year.

Although this all might make my life sound a little glamorous,

trust me it's really not.

Most of the time I cherish being a very busy 44-year-old husband

and father of three children who knows firsthand

how hard it is to stay in shape while dealing

with the daily grind.

This is exactly why I most enjoy improving

the bodies and lives of every mom, dad,

and everyone in between.

And at the end of this video I'm going

to introduce you to the exact 12-minute metabolic movement

system that I've used time and time again

to get my clients, both the famous and everyday Joe

or Jane, the body that they desire.

Here's the key, this system is specifically

designed for the current hormonal condition of people

over 35 years old, and it works in tandem

with the intermittent fasting tips

I'm going to share with you right in this video.

If you're in your 40s, 50s, or 60s,

this information could very well change your life

for the better, so just keep watching.

Intermittent fasting-- people who frequent bodybuilding

or fitness blogs typically have heard of intermittent fasting.

It's very, very trendy in today's day and age.

However, I have discovered, from talking to friends and family,

most people don't even know what it is.

So inside this video, I'm going to talk

about three different types of intermittent fasting

and how many days per week to do them.

And then I'm also going to reveal how to actually double

the fat burning effect of intermittent fasting in only

just 12 minutes per day.

But the first thing to understand

is that intermittent fasting is simply

moving the time in which breakfast is consumed.

If you look at the word, I'm sorry,

breakfast-- it actually is just break fast.

So it simply means break the fast.

So no matter-- if breakfast is at 8:00 in the morning,

or eating at two in the afternoon,

it's still breakfast because it's breaking the fast.

And that's what intermittent fasting is all about.

It's simply using a feeding window

and then following that window with a fasting window where

you consume nothing but water.

And then for those lean individuals out there

who don't belly fat have to lose,

people can still apply this protocol

to maximize fat burning hormones, have more energy,

and stay lean year round without feeling guilty for not eating

every two to three hours to, supposedly,

keep your metabolism elevated.

I just recommend consuming some amino acids

when fasting, for people who are learn, to prevent muscle loss.

Now most people think that if we go 12,

14, 16, even 24 hours without eating

we're programmed to believe our metabolism

is going to slow down.

And the scientific research about intermittent fasting

proves and confirms this is completely wrong.

The body will not lose muscle, and the body's metabolism

will not slow down.

In fact, more belly fat will be lost.

Plus better control of the body's appetite and diet

can be achieved by following this.

So the first one is called 16:8 or 14:10.

Martin Berkhan actually created the 16:8 protocol

with his lean gains protocol.

The 16:8 protocol is simply fasting for 16 hours

and feeding for 8 hours for five days a week.

This is most people's favorite.

It's what I use during the summer to stay lean.

It also allows me to go ahead and have

a dessert, and some red wine, and some cocktails, three

or four nights a week without gaining any belly

fat during the summer.

So, for example, the last meal of the night

is at, say 8:00 or 9:00 p.m, right after that meal just

wait a full 16 hours before food is consumed again.

So if 8:00 p.m was the last meal, noon the next day

would be when to break the fast.

No need to skip breakfast.

Just push breakfast back to noon.

If it's 9:00 p.m push breakfast back to 1:00 p.m.

And so on.

Now this is for men.

For women, because of the hormonal condition of women,

and because their metabolism are different than males,

I recommend using the 14:10 protocol instead and not

fasting quick as long.

So if the last meal was finished at 8:00 p.m.

Then go ahead with 14 hours and consume the first meal

the next day at 10 a.m.

So pretty simple protocal to follow.

And men and women will find if they try this a couple times,

the first time people might feel some hunger pains.

But that's actually the indication

that the body is releasing more growth hormone.

So following any of these protocols,

remember, if hunger sets in that's a good sign.

The body is releasing more growth hormone

and gaining back control of ghrelin, which

is the body's appetite hormone.

Next one up is called Eat Stop Eat from my great friend Brad

Pilon from Canada.

Brad came up with this years ago and it's simply

a 24 hour fast that's done one to three days per week.

This works best, and it's not easy.

It's tough.

Especially the first couple times.

Especially for me.

After it's tried a few times it's pretty simple to do.

The best time to use this one is after a cheat day.

So Monday is the best day to do this.

So, for example, say I gorge and have fun all weekend long

and eat cheat food on Sunday.

I would eat my last meal at 8 p.m

and then I won't again until 8 p.m.

on Monday night.

Now this is a little more difficult, like I said,

but people drink lots of water and understand the health

benefits they can push through and lose more belly fat

by using this exact protocol.

Now, again, that's Eat Stop Eat.

I do recommend not using this more than one to three days

per week because the body will simply burn up muscle

after a while.

It's going to be hard on the body's system.

The next one up is called the 5:2,

and I don't really have a ton of information about the 5:2.

I just see it out there are a lot right now.

But, basically, the protocol is to eat a very low calorie

diet Monday through Friday, somewhere around 800

to 1,000 calories.

Now, that's pretty low, but to lose more belly fat

Selina Leem | This is Our Land | Marshall Islands - Duration: 2:06.

There was this one moment where we had one of the king tides coming again

and there was one lady she was sitting outside in her wooden bed,

she was looking out into the water.

And she just saw them constantly coming in and then washing into the land

and so she was sitting there, she was just looking at the water

and she was like what is happening to us?

Like this has never happened before.

Yes, all these droughts and king tides and such happens there are normal

but then the problem is with climate change

things are becoming more massive and are happening much more frequently.

We've experienced a lot of rising in sea level.

This is making us so much more vulnerable

and extremely in danger of becoming uninhabitable.

It's more of a religious belief

that the world is coming to an end.

Whereas others are saying okay no this is not,

it's due to what bigger countries are doing with the carbons that they're emitting to the air

and we're the one being affected by it.

People would think why would we care about 72,000 people

living somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific.

This mindset itself it's unsettling

and it's something that we need to change.

This is something that our ancestors found and lived for

It's our gift from our ancestors.

And so we would like to take this gift and then pass it on to our younger generations.

We're all humans, we all deserve our rights

and this is our land.
