Youtube daily report w Nov 11 2017

nothing grabs your I quite like shiny and when it comes to shine nothing beats

a good metallic sheen from mirrors to jewelry medals are prized for their

ability to glitter like well gold their shininess is basically a built in

property and there's a good reason why it's a quirk of the weird way their

electrons behave in a metal atom the outermost electrons are only weakly

attached to the nucleus when a bunch of metal atoms come together in a chunk

these outer electrons wiggle free creating what scientists usually think

of as a negatively charged sea of electrons flowing around a network of

positively charged ions this moving sea is a big part of what makes metals metal

for example you can hammer them into different shapes without cracking them

because the electrons can move to compensate for the atomic nuclei

shifting around and all those free electrons are great at conducting

electricity that's also why metals are shiny what we call shine is actually

reflected light but it doesn't just bounce off the surface like a tennis

ball instead when a wave of light hits the sea of electrons the electrons

absorb the light waves energy which makes them wobble a little that movement

generates a second wave of light one that radiates back up from the surface

that's what we see is a shine the free electrons and metals are especially good

at this vibrating to match visible light thing but different metals shine in

different ways that's big as depending on the metal the sea of electrons will

have a different mass and density which affects how freely the electrons can

move and therefore whether they can vibrate to match the incoming wave most

metals are silvery because they reflect most visible light but not all of it

which makes them a little darker than pure white a few metals like gold and

copper aren't able to reflect the bluest wavelengths of light so they shine with

a reddish or yellowish hue and there are no guarantees that a metal will reflect

higher energy waves like UV and x-rays at all waves that aren't reflected

penetrate into the metal where they can either be absorbed or pass right through

depending on both the type of metal and how thick it is silver for example is

one of the best reflectors of visible light which is why it was one of the

first metals used for mirrors but it's terrible at reflecting UV rays if I

locked you in a thin the silver box and put it in direct sunlight it would be

completely dark in there but you could still get sunburned you know

hypothetically metals like tin and aluminum are much better at reflecting

ultraviolet light which is why they're used in roofing lead on the other hand

can reflect even the high-energy x-rays that penetrate most metals making it an

ideal way to protect parts of your body that your doctor doesn't want

x-ray that's also why Superman can't see through it so metals can shine in lots

of different ways but it all comes from the same thing a bunch of electrons

moving around thanks for asking and thanks especially to all of our patrons

So, about LEGO Batman Minifigures Series 2 in 2018... - Duration: 1:10.

Hello, just2good here,

and today someone got their hands on a checklist for

2018's LEGO Minifigures Batman Series 2.

Now, in case this is like a factory leak,

I can't show a picture here but you can check it out,

linked in the description,

which shows all the minifigs of the series.

I'll save my full thoughts for when pictures are officially revealed,

but I have to say,

there's a lot of good but some pretty bad choices.

For the good choices,

it literally boils down to everything but five minifigures -

those five minifigures are these beach versions of Batman, Joker, Robin, Batgirl, and Alfred.

For some reason, they waste five spots

with these uninteresting versions that didn't appear in the movie.

They give us a another Beach Batman

that looks like an inferior version to the one in Series 1.

It's odd that there's only two versions of Batman in this series,

the other being a mermaid Batman.

But I love obscurue villains they're giving us,

like Black Canary,

Clock King,

Hugo Strange,

Proffesor Phsophurus,

and Black Vulcan.

Also, I love the Wonder Twins,

but I'm sad none have a the monkey.

It's nice to see the General Zod and Jor-El

from the movie in this set as they have great recolors of useful hair pieces.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Peace out.

Bye.

Inspire students with the power of storytelling - Duration: 1:42.

I think that giving kids the tools to be able to tell their own stories is one of the most

powerful things, and one of the most powerful gifts that you can give a young person.

There's no limit to the stories you can tell.

This high school student wants to take down the empire of his parents...

But her obstacle is that she lives here in L.A. and her parents live in El Salvador...

The main character with the maniac, they try to have a little scuffle, and the maniac tries

to kill the main character.

You can do all the special effects that you want but without great characters, without

great stories, what do you really have?

In the process of our protagonist going to achieve his goal, isn't there some sort

of switch in there where you realize, or something changes his mind to a different goal?

Dialogue can reveal the nature of a relationship between two characters. In other words,

that's exposition.

I think it's important for me to tell my story because it shows that when you have

a goal and you're willing to get to it, you can actually get to it.

Please support this program, it's a wonderful experience for the kids.

It gives them some great opportunities, and all it takes are a few clicks to give.

Thank you for donating to AFI.

I want to thank you for helping us make this partnership with AFI a reality.

Thank you!

10 Things NASA Don't Want You To Know - Duration: 7:14.

• How did a man have sex on the moon without even being an astronaut?

What did the government cover up about the Challenger explosion?

From conspiracy theories that came true to where drinking water comes from, here are

10 things NASA wishes you didn't know about.

10 – Sex on the moon…sort of • In 2002, Thad Roberts was a 25-year-old

intern at NASA.

He worked at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

• And he had the bright idea to steal some moon rocks from his job site.

And not just one or two of them – he stole 17 pounds' worth of moon rocks retrieved

from the Apollo moon missions, and started selling them on the internet.

• But before he put them up for auction, he scattered them out on his bed, and he and

his girlfriend had sex on top of them.

• Roberts went to jail for 100 months, but at least he got to say he was one of the first

two people to sorta-kinda have "sex on the moon."

9 – Weaponized space • The threat of a huge asteroid colliding

with Earth and wiping everything out is very real, and it's one NASA is tasked with creating

a counter-measure for.

• Currently, the best counter-measure they have is right out of a movie – they just

throw some nuclear weapons at it and hope it moves aside.

• But former Apollo astronaut Rusty Schweickart believes NASA is just using "asteroid protection"

as a front, and that their real aim is simply to put nuclear weapons in space.

• He now runs an organization researching better ways to divert a potentially life-extinguishing

asteroid.

8 – Chinese space race • China has a growing and expanding space

program.

After years of the United States being the leader in space exploration, China appears

set to take over and lead in the future.

• The US is expected to retire the International Space Station in 2024, which will leave China

as the only country with a persistent presence in space.

• China is also on pace to become the first country to explore the dark side of the moon.

• The Chinese space program is still way behind American and European space program,

but they're investing in it heavily, and are learning fast.

At this rate, they'll be the leaders in space exploration within the next decade.

7 – Hacking vulnerabilities • In 2000, NASA was hacked by a 20-year-old

man from New York.

Two of their computers – one of which was used for satellite design and mission analysis

were taken over from miles away.

• So, was the hacking an attempt at uncovering state secrets?

Nah.

• He used one of the computers to host a chat room with other hackers.

The other he used to collect passwords, steal credit card data, and spam pornographic advertisements.

With the passwords he uncovered, he earned access to another 800 computers.

• He'd gotten away with it for two years before he was caught and punished for it.

6 – Challenger coverup • The Challenger explosion in 1986 is one

of the most infamous events in NASA's history.

• The official story was, for a while, that the shuttle had exploded, and everyone on

the ship was simply vaporized in an instant.

• But that's not what happened.

That explosion probably didn't even cause the cabin to lose pressure.

The Challenger continued to ascend, three miles up into the atmosphere, with the crew

fully conscious, and, most likely, uninjured.

• But the launch was botched, and the shuttle didn't have the momentum to escape Earth's

gravity.

So it eventually fell into the ocean over the course of two-and-a-half minutes.

• Some of the emergency equipment in the cockpit was manually activated by those on

board, so we know for sure that at least some of the crew survived the initial blast.

It would probably have been better for them if they hadn't.

5 – Space Urine • One of the big problems in space is getting

fresh water.

Humans need water to live, and space doesn't exactly have an abundant supply of it.

• So in 2003, they figured out a better solution than simply shipping water via cargo

rocket.

They just told the astronauts to drink their own piss.

• A new distillation process takes all forms of wastewater – urine, shower runoff, sweat,

and even lab rat urine – and purifies it until it is drinking water of even purer quality

than what comes out of your tap at home.

• These days, around 93% of all wastewater on spacecraft is reclaimed and reused… except

by Russia.

The Russians still absolutely refuse to drink purified urine.

4 – James Webb telescope cost • The James Webb telescope is the proposed

successor to the nearly 30-year-old Hubble Space Telescope.

• But the process of trying to get the Webb telescope built and launched has been… bumpy,

at least.

It was initially proposed with a lifetime cost of 5 BILLION dollars.

• But now it has an estimated launch date of October 2018, and that figure has been

revised… to 8.7 billion dollars.

• That includes development, launch, and five years of costs related to running the

telescope.

But there's not really a good explanation as to where that extra three and a half billion

dollars went.

3 – Military Space Shuttle X-37B • In May 2017, the United States Air Force

announced the successful landing of the X-37B, a small, unmanned space shuttle.

• Which is funny, because nobody knew that the X-37B had even taken off… or that it

had been flying in low Earth orbit for about two years.

• The Air Force has two X-37B shuttles, which were developed by Boeing with NASA heat

shielding technology.

They've flown several times since 2010, but what the Air Force plans on actually using

them for is anyone's guess.

2 – Operation Paperclip • Nazis are bad, evil people responsible

for the mass genocide of millions of people.

• But the reason Germany had such success overtaking most of Europe is that they had

some brilliant scientists and highly-advanced weaponry.

• Operation Paperclip is the name given to the United States' scramble to recover

discarded tech and scientists.

In some cases, their history as • Wernher von Braun was the chief developer

of the V-2 rocket, the first-ever ballistic missile.

And he, along with many others, ended up joining NASA as high-ranking officials, some of which

were instrumental in landing on the moon.

1 – Original moon landing tapes missing • And speaking of landing on the moon, NASA

has something to admit.

• Apparently, the original recordings of the moon landing from 1969 have been taped

over, like your parents' wedding video.

• They were apparently part of a batch of 200 thousand video tapes that were erased

and re-used to save money.

• The good news is, digital copies of the recording – which were actually remastered

to look much better – still exist.

But this is fuel to the conspiracy theorists who believe the moon landing

was a hoax.

Report Trump Rejected 5 Women Sent to Hotel Room, "We Don't Do That Type of Stuff" Bodyguard Says - Duration: 4:53.

Report: Trump Rejected 5 Women Sent to Hotel Room, We Dont Do That Type of Stuff

Bodyguard Says.

BY BEN MARQUIS.

Ever since it was made public by BuzzFeed News in January, there has been plenty of

discussion about the dossier compiled by a former British spy on behalf of Democrat-aligned

political opposition research firm, Fusion GPS.

It leveled all sorts of unproven allegations against President Donald Trump.

Trumps longtime bodyguard and chief of security Keith Schiller was called before

the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday for a four hour, closed door hearing, where

he testified under oath about a number of issues, including the dossier, CNN reported.

Schiller either denied or couldnt recall any of the accusations put forward in the

dossier, despite repeated and repetitive questions from his congressional interlocutors.

NBC News reported that Schiller explicitly denied one of the more salacious allegations

in the dossier.

It claimed Russian hookers were sent to Trumps hotel room during a trip to Moscow in 2013,

where they were said to have engaged in certain activities that were caught on tape and held

as blackmail by the Russians.

In Moscow for the Miss Universe pageant, it was claimed that a Russian participant in

the event informed Schiller that he would be sending five women to Trumps room

for his entertainment, but Schiller testified that he rejected that offer.

We dont do that type of stuff, Schiller stated, according to two sources familiar

with his testimony before the committee.

Schiller recalled telling Trump about the offer later in the day and noted how they

both laughed it off as ridiculous.

He testified that Trump went to bed alone that evening with Schiller posted outside

his room for a time before retiring for the night himself.

Though he admitted that he didnt know if anything had occurred after he had left his

post outside the room, he nevertheless testified under oath that he was confident nothing happened,

certainly nothing involving Russian prostitutes.

Schiller also made sure to note that Trump was always well aware that he could be under

surveillance at any time, and made a habit of warning his associates to always be careful

of what they said and did, particularly in a foreign country.

It was also reported that Schiller testified to his reaction upon first seeing the Russian

prostitute allegation put forward in the dossier, in which he claimed to have stated, Oh

my God, thats bullsh**.

It is worth noting that Schillers rejection of the prostitutes is not a new story, but

was first reported by The Daily Caller back in January, shortly after the dossier was

first made public.

At that time, an unnamed adviser to Trump was asked about the contents of the dossier,

particularly about the Russian prostitutes.

That adviser told the reporter that he knew for a fact that the supposed incident never

occurred, and named Russian pop star Emin Alagarov as the individual who sent the women

up to Trumps room.

Emin was the son of Russian billionaire oligarch Aras Alagarov, who had partnered with Trump

to host the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow.

When Schiller received word of Emins offer, he flatly rejected it and posted guards outside

Trumps room to ensure nobody entered.

Based upon Schillers testimony, it would appear that he then took over for those guards

at the end of the evening when Trump had gone to bed, alone.

Once again, we see one of the anti-Trump medias narratives utterly blown out of the water.

They have tried repeatedly to smear Trump as some sort of womanizing sexist, the sort

who would take full advantage of Russian hookers sent to his hotel room.

But unless Trumps most trusted associate and former chief of security just lied under

oath to Congress, none of that ever happened, and wouldnt have happened, as We dont

do that type of stuff.

Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter to let everyone know that Keith Schiller just

shot down a big part of the anti-Trump dossier while testifying under oath

to Congress.

Peace out.

Bye.

October Wrap Up [CC] - Duration: 11:31.

Hi everyone! My name is Frede

and today I'm gonna be talking about the books

that I read in the month of October.

Now October is Black History Month in the UK,

and because up until October basically I thought that

Germany didn't even have a Black History Month,

which it does. Apparently February is Black History Month in Germany

just like in the US. Which I didn't know.

But yeah, so Black History Month in the UK is October

so I tried to focus my reading on black writers.

And I did do that, 6 of the 7 books that I read

are by black writers. But only one book is by a black British writer.

So I could've done a bit better with that.

So the only book that I managed to read by a black British writer

is the last book that I'm gonna talk about

because as always I'm gonna go in chronological order.

And the first book that I finished in October was

Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates.

I feel like I don't have anything to say about this book

that hasn't been said already.

I really, really loved this.

It's- it seems very short but there is so much in here.

And I feel like the fact that it's written as a letter addressed to his son

makes it very, very powerful. Because you have

Ta-Nehisi going through his childhood, his adolescence, his young adulthood,

and contemporary situations in America,

and trying to communicate to his son how he can

navigate through life basically in America,

and what it means to be a black man in America basically.

Some of these parts and the way he wrote this

really pack a punch. And this is something I'm going to say

about a lot of things because I read a lot of

very impactful things last month.

So overall for me this was an amazing book.

Although maybe content-wise there are things you've heard multiple times

when you read about people's experiences with racism,

I always kind of want to read individual experiences

and this was very much individual experience.

So I really, really loved this book.

The second book that I finished in October was a book

that I started at the end of January.

And the reason for that is because it was a pdf,

and the only way I that can read pdfs is either on my phone

or my computer, and I hate reading on my phone and my computer.

So I never read it but it was an amazing book.

And that's bell hooks's Ain't I a Woman?

Now this book was written in the 80s I believe.

And bell hooks looks at the contemporary situation in America

and how a lot of black women very much struggle to

identify themselves with the feminist movement.

And she goes through history and looks at why this is the case.

Because her argument is that black women in America

have always been in a situation where they were

in a very particular position

because they were black and because they were women.

And because of that were very often excluded by white women.

So she looks at slavery, she looks at the suffrage movement,

and then about the gradual development of the women's movement.

And how white women have always excluded and

discriminated against black women.

And that's bascially what this book is about.

Because I read this over such a long timespan

I can't really go into any details because it's not so fresh in my memory.

So I'm gonna try to at some point get a hardcopy

of that book and reread it.

Because I think it was a really, really good book.

When she talks about certain issues she always gets quotes

from different people from that time period to prove her point,

and I think if you're trying to understand what

intersectionality means and why that's very important,

you should definitely read that book.

And even if you already consider yourself an intersectional feminist

it's- in my opinion it's a must-read.

It's a really good book.

The next book that I finished is a book that I also don't have here,

because it was a library copy and I had to take it back

to the library. But that was Zami by Audre Lorde

which is her autobiography. She basically recounts how she

grew up as the daughter, the third daughter of immigrants to the US,

how she grew up as a black girl in predominantly white surroundings,

and how eventually as she got older, she realised she was into women,

and how that affected her life, and

the way she stood in society basically.

And then also obviously the way that her writing

became a part of that. And how that all played together basically.

What I loved about this book was that you could see

certain historical events or periods through this very

personal and individual perspective of her.

And you get a very good look into LGBT spaces at the time,

because Audre Lorde talks a lot about how she

was a lesbian, so in that part she was an insider of that group,

she went to gay bars and had girlfriends,

but then she was also very much an outsider

because of her blackness. And because of that she

sometimes wasn't let into bars, and even her girlfriends,

or at least those who were white,

treated her in a weird way.

How she wasn't able to communicate about these problems

with racism that she was encountering in these relationships,

because her girlfriend or her friends who were white

or other people thought 'okay we are all gay, so we are all

oppressed in the same way' or 'we're all women and this

is why we go through the same thing'

which obviously isn't the truth. And she really managed to

throughout the entire book show how she was always

at the same time an insider and outsider of a certain group.

It's written beautifully and sometimes also very graphically

and disturbingly. So she had an illegal abortion

at the time, she was pregnant and legal abortions weren't a thing at the time

but she had an abortion and she talks about that and it made me feel

physically sick to read that.

So I think if you can't handle

I don't know, graphic descriptions about blood and wounds, don't read this maybe.

Also she kind of talks about sexual assault and suicide,

so be aware of that. But I really, really loved this book.

What I also really loved about it was that

even though she really established herself to be very different in a lot of ways

and taught me a lot of things that I didn't know,

at the same time, this book also kind of managed to make me feel

kind of connected to my own queerness in a way that I haven't felt in a long way

because I'm bisexual and I've been dating my boyfriend for about 1.5 years,

and I'm really, really happy in this relationship,

but, I don't know, this is probably something that a lot of bisexuals experience

that you're in a straight-passing relationship,

and then you feel kind of weird about your queerness because it's such an important thing,

but it's not actually a part of your relationship at the moment,

so because of that, I really, really appreciated this book.

Because she really writes in a way that you can identify so much with what she writes

and yeah, I just- I loved this book so much and I would really recommend everyone to read it.

If you can deal with the not so nice parts of it.

The next book that I finished was Citizen by Claudia Rankine.

I've basically been wanting to read this book ever since I saw that gif of the woman

sitting in the back of a Trump rally and reading this,

and I was not disappointed. This was really that kind of poetry that I get along with very well.

I always find it very difficult to talk about poetry

because it's so personal, and I'm not the most eloquent person [laughs]

so I think it's always very difficult to properly elaborate on why I liked something or why I didn't.

But I thought the way this was written, kind of always addressing you, like 'You're walking down the street,

and this woman is looking at you strangely', I think that worked really, really well.

Also, Claudia Rankine referred to different things that happened,

and it was so interesting because you could look these things up and-

so some of these poems were almost like little essays but not really, and it was fascinating.

Also sometimes there are like pictures in between

which had such a huge impact and which worked so well with the text.

So I don't feel like there's much that I can criticise about this.

Those were the books that I read in the first half of October.

And then I went back to uni and didn't read so much anymore.

I'm really busy at uni this semester, I've got a lot of reading to do,

I've got lots of presentations, and papers, and just so much stuff.

I'm also learning Spanish so I gotta study a lot for Spanish,

so I've three more books.

And the first book that I read when I went back to uni

was the first novel that I read this month.

And this is also the only book that wasn't written by a black author.

And that is It Devours! by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor.

This is the second Welcome to Night Vale novel, and I just had to get it, I love Welcome to Night Vale.

So I pre-ordered it, and I read it pretty fast I think, and I really enjoyed it,

but I will be talking about this book more in a separate review video.

The next book that I finished was A Narrative of the Life-

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave.

So basically Frederick Douglass's autobiography.

Which I also had to read for uni, and this is an edition where there's also Harriet Jacob's autobiography

which I'm currently reading. And I've read excerpts of Douglass's autobiography before,

but I hadn't read the entire thing. I think it's really difficult to say much about this because

this is just his life, I can't really say anything about that, but I think he wrote this in a very comprehensive way.

And I can imagine how back at the time when this was published, this was very impactful on people.

So that's kind of all I can say really but I thought this was very interesting and I'm currently reading

as I said Harriet Jacob's autobiography

which I think is very interesting because obviously you have a woman's perspective,

which Frederick Douglass doesn't talk about women much,

so yeah I thought this was a very good autobiography.

And the last book that I finished was the only book by a British writer that I read,

and that is Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge.

This was basically everything that I expected it to be,

and I really, really loved this book.

So basically Reni sets in talking about how a couple of years ago she wrote a blog post

in which she said 'I'm just done, I'm not gonna talk to white people about race anymore'

and then because of people's comments she ended up kind of writing this book,

and it's so well done. She looks at Britain's history with racism, she looks at white privilege,

she looks at racism as a system, she looks at feminism and how that relates to racism,

and she looks at class and how that relates to race.

Her arguments and the things she was talking about which were sometimes on a kind of theoretical level

always intersperse with her own personal experiences.

And I can't really say anything negative about this.

It was structured really well, she makes very strong points,

and I think must read for everyone, especially for British people. [laughs]

I'm also gonna be linking a review video down below because Hélène at booksbyleynes

did a review of this book a while ago, and I thought this was a really good review of this book.

And basically she says everything that I would say

otherwise, and she has more time in that review video than I do.

But yeah, I thought this was a great book and I'm glad I read it.

So those were the books that I read in the month of October,

I'm gonna see how much reading I'm gonna be able to get done now that I'm back at uni,

as I said, I've just been so busy. And if it hadn't been for the fact that I had to read this for uni

I wouldn't have read Frederick Douglass's autobiography.

So I'm reading much less than I used to do when I was on break. So we're gonna see how that continues.

If you read any of the books that I talked about today let me know what you thought of them,

I'm not quite sure what my favourite book of October was,

maybe Zami or Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race,

I think those were the most- I think those were the two best books that I read last month.

Let me know what your favourite book was that you read in last month, thank you for watching,

and I will see you in my next video. Bye!

YOUR MUSIC STUDIO'S REPUTATION WILL MAKE OR BREAK YOU | Grow Your Music Studio - Duration: 8:12.

- Hey there, it's Daniel from growyourmusicstudio.com.

In this video, I have two things

that I wanna share with you.

One, an exciting announcement, I would say,

and I wanna share an interview with you

that I recorded last month.

First, the announcement.

I'm really excited to talk to you a little bit about

the direction I see the blog going

over the next six months to a year.

Something I've noticed in the piano teacher community that's

come up on Facebook, as a member of MTNA,

as a member of a lot of different piano teacher groups,

I'm getting the sense that there is kind of a trend now.

I'm hearing this from people who read my blog,

who I talk to, clients that I work with,

as if they're never doing enough,

as if there's always more to do.

You know, there's always another worksheet

that you can download from a blog,

there's the 26 tips that you can do

to improve studio retention,

as if they need to be doing more to grow their studios

to increase the quality of their programs.

Now, what I wanna say is that

I don't wanna contribute to that weight,

to that sense that what you are doing

as a business owner isn't enough.

What I wanna do with the blog

over the next six months to a year

is really emphasize the core message

that I have been preaching and teaching on the blog

for the last 18 months, and that is this:

that what you're doing is enough,

that really, what you need to do is find

a simple way, a simple system to attract students,

and then you need to work that system.

You don't need to be downloading lists of,

like, 100 more ways to grow your studio,

or the 17 tips you need to increase studio retention.

You don't need that stuff.

What you need is a simple system that works

and is predictable,

and it's what I've been teaching for the last 18 months.

And really, just to be quite simple

and to lead into my second point,

really what I have said and what I have taught

over the last year and a half is

buy ads, send traffic to your website, and sign up students.

That is really the message that I have been teaching

and will continue to teach.

I really don't get into this kind of endless treadmill

of all these different tips,

and all these things you need to be doing,

and all of this stuff that you need to add

to grow your studio.

That really is my core message.

It's the way that I keep my studio full,

and it's the way that I know

a lot of successful studio owners

keep their studio full.

Find what works, work it, and then relax.

Focus on what you choose to focus on,

and whether that's personal enrichment,

reading books, or innovating,

or writing your own curriculum,

or adding a bunch of apps to your studio.

Whatever it is that brings you joy and brings relaxation.

What I don't wanna see,

what I don't wanna hear from folks is

this sense of weight that they should be doing more.

So that's the first thing.

The second thing is, just by way of demonstration,

I wanna share with you an interview

that I recorded last month

with a really powerful studio owner named Greg Genter.

This was actually a smaller part

of a larger interview that I recorded

about group lessons,

but in the midst of that interview,

he shared some really powerful thoughts

about his marketing system,

and those powerful thoughts actually really neatly line up

with the way that I view marketing a piano studio.

And again, the reason I wanna share this with you

is I wanna show you how simple it is,

how simple the system can be

to make your studio be attractive

to new or prospective parents.

He has a studio of 250 kids,

and he's keeping that studio full

almost purely on a digital advertising budget,

using mostly and only Adwords.

So, without further ado, here's that video.

Enjoy and I'll see you in our next video or blog post.

I'm a marketing junkie.

I've spent way too much time

reading books and doing this sort of thing.

I know from my relationship with you

that you aren't necessarily that obsessed.

You have your different obsessions,

like writing a curriculum for three years.

But your studio is well over twice my size.

I'm just curious what you have found, as a studio owner,

so kinda moving a little bit on from the group lessons to

studio owner, or a studio that needs to fill a lot of spots

because the group lessons create

so much room in your schedule.

What have you done, what have been the marketing things

that you've done to fill

a studio of your size, and growing?

- Right, yeah, well, sure.

I do love the game of business, I do.

I love the idea of being a small business owner,

and I don't treat it like a life and death thing.

I don't stress over numbers.

I treat it like a game.

It's a game I work hard to win,

but at the end of the day, I tell my wife this

and she's not, like, but it's like,

hey, if I ever go bankrupt, we just move in with my dad.

It's not that big of a deal, he's a nice guy.

- And I know, for a fact, Greg's dad

lives literally one street over from him.

When I went to MTNA Baltimore this year,

I stayed at his dad's house for a couple nights.

- It's nice, it's nice, so there's extra rooms.

But I have that safety net.

I guess that helps me relax, maybe.

I would say, as far as marketing,

disconnect yourself emotionally from the money

and just look at it like a game you wanna win.

I would say just three specific things.

Number one, word of mouth is always gonna be

your best marketing tool.

So, vigilantly guard the reputation of your studio.

If you say yes to a pool of students that

rob you of your joy,

they go out into the community

and they don't really care, they don't practice,

that is your reputation.

Your students are a reflection of you.

Be careful with your reputation.

Vigilantly guard it.

Make decisions that will help your name

and not undermine your name.

I'd say that's number one.

At the end of the day, I believe that a good service

will survive with bad marketing,

but bad service will die, even with good marketing.

- Absolutely.

- Okay, so I would say guard your reputation

and work hard, invest in yourself,

say yes wisely and say no wisely.

That's number one.

Number two, right down the middle of the road of marketing,

I love Google Adwords.

That is a, it's like a dial.

You can just turn it up when you want a little more students,

you want a little more web presence.

You can turn it down if you start to fill up.

I like digital marketing a lot more than print marketing.

Print is getting, like, comparing the two dollar for dollar,

I can't get returns on print that I get in digital.

I actually no longer do any print ads.

It's all digital.

If I have an extra $100,

I just put it into digital because I know

I'm gonna get fives students from that

and I might get one student from print ads.

- It's gonna sound like that I coached you to say that,

because that has been what I've been preaching on my blog

for over a year now.

(laughing)

- Well, it's true for me.

I have to agree, then.

The other thing that I'm really

starting to love more and more is just Facebook Ads.

I still don't do it enough.

Every time I put, this year,

leading up to the summer camp curriculum

that we're running this summer,

I've put in a couple Facebook ads.

Every time I run one, I get at least one or two signups,

and the Facebook ad I run is $75.

Our summer camp registration is $167.

So it's like, you know, it's like when we were young,

I think we both played Sims 2.

There was that tree where you could just

take the Simolians off the tree.

It was like free money, or you'd get cheat codes

you'd put in, like, kaching.

And you're like, "Hey, I want some extra money,

"let me put in the cheat code," and you get your money.

I feel like Facebook ads are like

a cheat code in business right now.

It works that good.

What's on My iPhone | Photo Editing & Tyopography [CC] // aGirlWithLyme - Duration: 22:57.

[Intro Music. Vincent Tone - New Summits.]

Hi guys so in today's video I am going to show you what's on my iPhone. If you

haven't noticed I don't actually have an iPhone this is an iPod - I believe this is

the 6th generation, it's basically a light version of an

iPhone. I don't have an iPhone because I don't have enough friends to text

and call, I hardly leave the house, I really don't even need one. If I can go

somewheres with a Wi-Fi connection then I can like you know, text my brother, or

my sister or anything to get a hold of anyone that I need. But I do a lot of

things on my iPod. I used to edit all of my YouTube videos using my iPod, I make

my YouTube thumbnails using my iPod - which I am going to have a video on, both

on how I make my YouTube thumbnail on my iPod, as well as how I edit my YouTube

videos on my iPod. I also edit a lot of my photography on my iPod as well, and I

make all my typography quotes on my iPod as well, and most recently I've been really

into playing games on my iPod. Okay so my iPod - you can see this is probably like screen

inception cause I have a screen right here showing everything that is on my

iPod. We're going to go app by app, folder by folder. So let's get

started. The first thing I have in the upper left hand corner is well, the usual, I

have calendar, I have camera which you can now see the camera, that I'm filming

on, this is so, probably like really weird. I have my photos, I have my photos - I just took

a bunch of selfies, so yeah that's that. Okay first folder over here is folder

that is productivity. In this folder I have Evernote. When I make a video I put

all of my scripts into Evernote, and I will read - see this is a script for this

video so I'm not an idiot and don't forget what

I'm saying. You can see my whole intro I just did - hey guys so what's in

today's video, I'm gonna show you what's on my iPhone. And then you can see that

and I have all my scripts, these red dots are all the videos I have to film

today. Okay next one I have is my Google Drive, this app keeps crashing on me and it's

really annoying, but I have like a lot of photos which the thumbnails for these

photos hardly ever load. Over here is Day One, I featured this in my Chronic

Illness Health Apps, um this is password protected, I'm not going to go on this

but this is my journal, this is what I use for journaling, I use it to talk

about my health, talk about things that happened during my day, my feelings- that

that sort of thing. Planner Pro ,this is basically a calendar but I like it

better then the calendar that comes with an iPod, it's much easier and it's

color-coded so all the red dots you see are days that I post videos. So yeah

that's that. Over here is a Wunderlist, this is a great app for to-do's.

There's a lot of to-do's in this list, I organized everything by the day and what

I have to do, like these are all my to-do lists, like I have a lot and they hardly

ever get accomplished, really great app. Hootsuite - Hootsuite - I can't pronounce

that correctly it's so annoying, um but these are just my Instagram accounts - I have

my Instagram account for photography, and my Instagram account for, well my

@aGirlWithLyme account. This is how I schedule my quotes and also my Photography,

it's really simple, quick, and easy. So yeah, I have some of these to post, I keep

forgetting to post things because I've been kind of busy lately editing scripts,

but those are some things that need to be posted. So that's the first

folder, the second folder we're going into is Photography.

This is some of the Photography apps that I use quite frequently, DesignLab is

something that I use a lot, this is what I use to edit all of my YouTube

thumbnails with, really great, I love this app, yeah so I was making my social media

post notifications which you probably would have seen this video today. So I

use this app to make them. Next one is iMovie. I still have to import my videos

into iMovie after they're all edited because I can't upload it on my computer

because it takes forever, it is so much faster using my iPod so that's why I

still have iMovie on here, and if I make like a short little video that I want to post

then I'll post it. Camera Connect - this is for my camera which I'm filming on now, to

connect to my iPod. The next app I have is Facetune. I think like everybody has this

app, I don't use this to photoshop my face at all - I don't like it for that, it

looks so fake and artificial, I absolutely hate it for that. But what it

is good for is for brightening up the backgrounds in photos, so say if I take a

selfie against a white wall, the wall doesn't really look white - it's dark, so I

will use this app to make the background brighter, I'll make things in pictures

that are white, whiter so that's kind of what I use this app for. Word Swag - I love

this app. This is, basically just, you can type in a text, you can select the photo -

I'll show you, I give you a little demo. I select the marble, crop and then

you'll change your text, and then you can choose, color and different

looking topography. I really love this app, it's really quick and easy for making

Typography posts, especially when I feel kind of lazy and uncreative, so I really like

this one. Layout - this app is by Instagram for collages. So you can put a collage, I

really don't use this one a whole lot anymore.

Next thing Enlight, I don't know how I feel about this app, I kind of like

it, I kinda don't like it - I really don't even use it that much, I think I haven't

even used this since I got my new iPod. Blur Editor. When I make my

YouTube thumbnails this is how I get the background of my thumbnail to look kind

of blurry, so my face and my body is more in focus.

It makes your thumbnails a kind of professional too. Pic Jointer - this is

great because I can select multiple photos for a collage, and then put it in

like 16:9 which is the frame crop for YouTube thumbnails, so whenever you

see a collage on my YouTube thumbnails, I use that app. VUE - I really love

this app because you can make short, little, quick cinematic videos. Steller - I

love this app. Um, this app you can make, um here I'll show you some of the ones I've made -

it's like a little story I guess. These are some of the ones I've made, my

favorite here is the Wild flowers of Nova Scotia, yeah I really love this app,

you can just post photos, and then post the caption to make like photo stories -

that sort of thing, so yeah, that is that app, really great, I love it. Hype Type - I

recently downloaded this, I've only had it for a few days - but if I want to put a

photo, and then photo is there, and you get that little thing - these are great

for Instagram stories. Um, so if you want like a moving text to put in Instagram

stories get this app, you do have to pay to get the watermark to go away, and it's

like four dollars. Next ever we have Typography. I do a lot of Typography, I

have a lot of typography apps, I'm not gonna go into too many of them, there are

ones that I like better, I use Studio, Typorama, UrWall (Unsplash) is where I mainly

get most of my photography backgrounds for making typography, you have some

really, really good photos in here that are really professional, good quality,

they don't look crap, they're always really great, like it looks like an

amazing Instagram feed pretty much. The next one I really like using is Mood, you

just type in the text that you want, and then you can select whatever kind of

style you want it to be. Superimpose - I don't use this a whole lot anymore

but I used to use it a lot - it's good for taking away backgrounds and stuff like

that and superimposing things on one another. But yeah Pixabay is also another app

that's kind of like your UrWall. Pic Lab this is a really good app for

Typography as well, it's the same thing as this app over here DesignLab -

it's from the same creators. I've had both of those apps on my iPod for over three

years now. The next app I have is GIPHY, it's just a bunch of GIFS, everyone

knows that. DeviantArt - you can find backgrounds to use on Typography on

there. You got Canva which is a pretty good app it's just kind of hard to use,

um it's not that it's difficult, it's just that if you want a template you got

to delete everything that's on it unless you want the specific template, but there's not

really a thing to choose like your own design sort of thing. I made this here

Typography quote using this app which not even showing up the text now, but anyways,

yeah I haven't used this too much but it is a nice app, um I think it'd be easier to

use on an iPad though. Over - this is also a great app for typography, you just need

a subscription service to get any of the pro stuff which is like $60 and I'm

debating whether or not I want to spend that much money for subscription service

on an app. Some other apps I use are Vanilla Pen, Word Dream, PicSee, Font Candy,

Photofy, Rhonna, File New, Eraser - this is great if you have a photo and you want

to erase a white background so you have a transparent background, perfect for this, it's free,

works great, doesn't degrade the quality - great app. I use ByeCrop if I have a

photo that I'm going to post, and I want to post a full photo to

Instagram, but of course Instagram crops it - I use this app, it's pretty handy

sometimes. Pic-it-collage - I don't know why I have

that on here I don't really think I've used this a whole lot. Sketches - this is - I

do create some of my Typography backgrounds with this app - if I

really can't find one I like, this is one I created, and haven't saved yet, so

you can see doesn't look the greatest because I'm crap at art, but yeah. Blend

these are all kind of gradient makers, so I can have different backgrounds. Legend

is moving text, so you can just click next, and then you have a bunch of

options for moving text. I was really hoping this could work with Instagram

stories, but it does not so I think I'm just going to have to use this as kind

of like moving typography. Let's move over to entertainment. We have YouTube of

course, I got Netflix of course, I have Roku its like a Roku remote, you can

stream things. I have YouTube studio, which is basically all of my videos on

here, and it shows me - if it loads - it shows me watch time, subscriber change for

the month, and my revenue, how many people have viewed my videos, comments, likes and

all the comments. Rocket Roku - this is a really good app if you have a Roku and

you find a video online say if you're Canadian you go on the CBC website which

is loading right now, and you want to watch a video like you know, Murdoch

Mysteries but you don't want to watch it on a tiny little screen and you want it on your

big nice flat screen - get this app because then you'll be able to play the

video, and then cast it, and yeah it works really well. Next up I have SoundCloud, I

love SoundCloud, it's pretty much the only place where I listen to music, I

deleted Spotify because you need a subscription which I'm too broke to pay

for, so I stuck with SoundCloud - it's much easier, I'm - I like the music on there

better I mean I know Spotify will have - probably have some of the same music, but I

like SoundCloud much better. Patreon, um I haven't even use this app yet because I

am debating whether or not I should even sign up for Patreon. Next I have is Vimeo,

I really like this for watching um, some more kind of cinematic videos, it's

a lot different from YouTube so that's kind of why I like it, it's more

professionally geared and not casually as YouTube is. Indie Shuffle is also a

great way to discover, not kind of undiscovered music and niche music

that I guess isn't mainstream. Ok then we got notes, Google Photos which is just

basically backing up all my photos on my camera roll, which I have like 3,000 of. We got

Pinterest, everyone uses Pinterest. And got Pocket - this is one of my favorite

apps, you can I guess clip and save pretty much any article you find on the

internet, and this is my list, I have a lot of articles. Got Gmail, got Flickr - I

do have a Flickr account for anyone that's wondering, I can't remember user

name - probably just search me up, but yeah, it's basically just whatever photos I

post to my photography Instagram I post to here as well. Ok, over here we have

VSCO. VSCO is probably my favorite app and an app that I absolutely cannot live

without, I edit every single photo using VSCO. I don't know what I would do without

this app, because I have tried various other photo editing apps and they're all

crap, the filters suck so, so bad! This is the only app I will use to edit any

of my photos, hands down best app. If you want photos to look good get this app.

But yeah, here are some of my photos - most of them are unedited because I

really haven't had much time to edit because I've been busy writing scripts for

YouTube, but yeah. I have a lot of photos, these are some of the edited photos. I do have

the VSCOx subscription, because it's honestly something that I - I definitely

would pay for, I can't remember how much I paid for it, but yeah, it's totally worth

it, it is so, so worth it. I love this app. Um and yeah, here's my profile,

I have some pictures from the beach, um some pictures they're just rocks, and

I basically put my best Photography uploaded to here.

Next up over is Instagram, this is my instagram feed, over here is my page you can see, I asked you to ask me

questions for my Q&A, I only got one comment on that I didn't add any tags, I posted that

last night before I went to sleep, so yeah, my Instagram feed. Now we have twitter, we

have Flipboard. Flipboard is a great app to find out news, to kind of share news -

that sort of thing, really great. We got tumblr, everyone knows what tumblr is, we got Snapchat - which I hardly

ever use Snapchat anymore. We got Facebook which is you know pretty

usual, we got Facebook pages which is how I manage my Facebook page, which I really

don't post on much anymore. We got messenger, got messages - which is iMessage.

We got Symptomz which is one of the apps I showed in my Apps for Chronic Illness

video. Next up is utilities which is you know, basically apps that no one

really uses. In this folder we have kind of reading - this folder just says folder but

it's more reading. I have iBooks, I have Goodreads, I have Save Our Seas -

which is a um, I think it's like a magazine kind of thing, and they publish bi-

annual issues, so we got winter and summer, yeah this is just abou the ocean

and stuff. Okay next folder is just other - we have clock, we have Living Earth

which is probably on of the coolest weather apps if I am to be honest, and the

globe on it spins and it's like, so cool - I really love this app, and the weather

is actually pretty accurate on it as well. Next app we have is reminders,

everybody you know uses reminders - I use a lot of them. We have Binaural Sleep -

this is an app that helps me to sleep when I can't sleep, uh we

have Round which is an app that reminds me when to take my medication.

We have Internet traffic. We have Widgets, which is really great because it allows

you to have different - here I'll show you, bring down my Notification Center, and I'll

show you the kind of widgets I have, I have my Living Earth, Planner Pro. I got

news, I got Flipboard, got my Evernote, my pocket, storage - which is from the

widgets, so it tells me how much storage I have on my iPod, my battery - it tells me

how full I am, I got a calculator, it got Network which

tells me how much I've used, which is never accurate.

I have run time, I have VSCO, Mail, Music, Notes,

Wunderlist. So that's kind of all I have in my Notification Center- widgets

sort of thing. And then I have One Password - which is where I keep all my

passwords, and then I got Settings, iTunes Store, App Store, Apple Store, JW library - I

am trying to be a Jehovah's Witness so this why I have this on here. Next is

shopping - I have Amazon, I got Indigo, I got Flipp which is just local fliers, I have

AU mobile which is Artifact Uprising - that's where I got my

photo prints a while ago, and I have the Google Arts and Culture which I really

love looking on this app because you can find so many cool things.Okay so

moving onto games - the first game we have it is solitaire - I've been playing

this a lot when I'm - when I have insomnia at night. Next game I have is a Hexus,

the other game I have is Mahjong, I have mermaids - which is basically - I can't show

you, because every time I keep trying to show you it kicks me out of the

recording, I wish I could show you because I really do like the game, it's

basically you can sing for mermaids, collect coins, buy decorations - it's a

very you know, kind of, probably what a twelve year old would play but I like

playing it, and we have Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries - oh it's just simply

Miss Fisher, um it's kind of a murder mystery and you gotta find out who

killed who, and it's based off of the TV show Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and

it's such a good game, I'm on the second episode -

which they only have two - but oh my god it is such a good game, I absolutely love

playing it. Uh, the next app I have is IMDB or the Internet Movie Database,

um I use this app a lot to you know, kind of find what movies I want to watch,

read reviews on movies, that sort of thing.

And the next thing I have is the Ocearch Shark Tracker, um if you don't know

what Ocearch is, it's a researching vessel- organization- group, it's a bunch of

scientists that have tagged Great Whites, and other sharks, and other sea critters,

and are tracking their progress - we've actually had um quite a few different

sharks in around Nova Scotia, I think it's this one here - Hilton, so you can

click on the shark that is tagged, and every time it breaches the surface it'll

ping so yeah, this is in around the South

Shore of Nova Scotia here - South 'sure', oh my god I sound so Nova Scotian when I

say that, but yeah - that shark has been hanging around all summer and has been

freaking people out, but it's so funny because I think it's amazing. This is Planoly

which is a really weird name for an app, but anyways this is an app that you can use

kind of plan out your Instagram posts, which I like to use, it's quite visual

so you can see here I have a post already lined up to go, I want to post

this here photo sometime today. Also down at the bottom which I forgot to show you -

I have TextNow - which is basically you can text phone numbers, which you usually

can't do in - on on an iPod, so say my brother has a cellphone,

I could text his cell phone, I can also call any number. I also have Mail, Safari,

and Music. So yeah, that is pretty much what's on my iPod, and if you want to see

my lock screen then here it is. So that's pretty much all the stuff that's on my

iPod. Thank you guys so much for watching this video, please be sure to give it a

thumbs up, subscribe if you're new. Please be sure to hit the notification button

down below to get notified when I upload new videos. All my social media links

will be in the description below, and I hope to see you guys next time, bye!

How to Stop Hair Loss with Coconut Water and Lemon

Hair loss is one of the most common problems in both men and women.

Stop hair loss in order to avoid this obvious sign of deficiency of essential nutrients.

How to make a homemade coconut water and lemon treatment

The preparation of this hair treatment is very simple.

Compared to commercial products, its also much cheaper.

Its suitable for all types of hair.

After all, it regulates the production of fat without affecting the natural moisture

of the roots.

Ingredients

1 cup of coconut water (250 ml) Juice from one lemon

Steps

Mix the coconut water and lemon juice together and pour in a spray bottle.

How to apply

First, untangle your hair with a soft bristle comb and separate into several sections.

help the scalp absorb it.

Leave it on for 30 to 40 minutes and rinse as usual.

Repeat the application 2 or 3 times a week to control this problem in a short time.

Important note

Although the constant use of this product can really reduce excessive hair loss, it

is necessary to clarify that its effects must be complemented with a healthy diet.

The consumption of foods rich in antioxidants and essential amino acids is crucial to combat

this problem from the inside.

Its also important to point out that limiting the use of heat elements and chemical treatments

in the hair can also help.

After all, these things can interfere in the effects of the remedy.

The truthful blood oath that corrupted the flower on my chest

Rebels will sing my name that'll follow the call

The tiara of vermillion is being protected eternally in the ancient white of forgetfulness

A patriot who will sing will be burned at the moment of this ending

If the god of fantasy

Mythology doesn't answer

Praise! (Das)

Fear! (Feen)

The distortion of the world! The weight of surviving!

If those happen, I'll answer these voices

Our distortion! Our weight!

That's our aim! The color tone-echoer propaganda!

The silver shining meshia will regain the world in colors

The witch of the wind snow is the traitor who'll pass away

The harp of the ruins rings and the battle maiden stands up

If the victorious mysterious-named star dies, the patriot will keep on singing

In this world which god desires,

If something happens out of desire

What Your Facebook Profile Looks Like to a Stranger - Duration: 2:10.

In this video, you'll learn how to see what your Facebook profile looks like to a stranger.

Anyone on Facebook has the ability to search and click on your personal profile.

Depending on what your privacy settings are, they may be able to see your posts, friends list, photos,

and other information about you.

Every once in awhile, it's a good idea to see what your profile looks like to a complete

stranger, so you can update or change your privacy settings accordingly.

Let me show you how you can see what a stranger sees on your profile.

In order to do this, you'll need to sign-in to Facebook using a computer web browser.

After you have signed into Facebook on your computer, go to your profile page by clicking

on your name in the top bar of the screen.

Right now you have access to all of your profile information

because you've signed in as yourself.

To view your profile as a stranger, click the 3 dots next to "View Activity Log"

and then click "View As…"

You can close the little tip box in the top left by clicking OK.

Now, you are viewing your profile as the public sees it.

This means that if a random stranger clicked on your Facebook profile, everything you see

now is what they would be able to see.

After doing this on your own profile, you might be surprised by how much of your profile

is visible to the public!

Don't worry!

Over on our "Learn How" page, we are creating videos to show you exactly how to change your

privacy settings to make sure your photos, friends list, posts, and other personal information

are hidden if you want them to be kept private.

If you want to learn how you can protect your personal information on Facebook, or if you

want to learn more about how to use technology, come click the Like button on our Facebook

page to watch all our free videos.

Please share this video on your timeline so your friends and family can learn how to see

what their profile looks like to strangers.

Thanks for watching!
