Hey Welcome to Zach's Tech Turf and Weekly Download episode number 75, which is my tech
and PC gaming news series.
Today I'm gonna be playing some Dead Cells, which I've never shown on the channel before,
while I give you this news and I got myself a cup of joe for today's episode.
Make sure you guys let me know in the comment section what you're sippin' on, let's
get into it.
We're gonna start with the tech news like always, but just know there are a ton of free
games and game deals we gotta cover later on in the video, so make sure you stay for
that.
To start off the tech news with some free tech, yea you'll see that free seems to
be the theme for this week's episode, Newegg is offering up this CPU cooler for free, provided
you complete the mail in rebate.
This Rosewill AMD air cooler will initially cost you 16 bucks but there's all a $16
rebate so it'll eventually be free.
Not only just the air cooler however, as of writing this video there's also a 15 foot
HDMI cable and a 3 foot display port cable that are free after rebates as well.
If you don't mind doing rebates, eh, you might as well snag these up.
Next up Fractal Design just released their newest case in their premium PC case line,
the Define R6.
The Define R6 is is aimed at keeping your PC as quiet as it can be and there's currently
a $130 version without tempered glass and a $150 version with the glass.
Most of the case is modular and it looks about as premium as it gets as you should expect
from Fractal.
Jayztwocents just released a video this week about it and titled the video quote Possibly
the Best Mid Tower Case of 2017.
AOC announced some new monitors that are coming in the next couple months, and although new
monitors are constantly be released, these are worth talking about.
There's 3 different models here, but they all include FreeSync, that red and black color
design, fully adjustable stands, and they're all pretty much bezel less.
As you've seen from my personal setup, whenever you have multiple monitors the bezels do look
kinda dumb, and these monitors would be perfect for multi monitor gaming setups.
THey are also all TN, which is superior for competitive gamers, and TN panels have come
a long way in terms of color reproduction so yea, check these out in the link in the
description if you're interested, I link everything I talk about down there every week.
Next up there's a humble software bundle that everyone is talking about this week,
and that's because Vegas Pro 14 is in the $20 bundle.
Vega Pro is a high end video editing software suite and this thing usually goes for $200.
Right now it's actually on sale on Amazon down to 150, but you can snag this in a humble
bundle for just 20 bucks.
If you're thinking about getting into content creation but don't wanna shovel out the
few hundred for Final Cut Pro or the monthly subscription to Adobe Premiere Pro, then this
might be your best bet.
Before jumping into the PC gaming news this week, I wanna quickly let you guys know about
NordVPN.
NordVPN is one of the highest rated VPNs or Virtual Private networks, that allow you to
browse the internet privately, securely, and with no history logs whatsoever.
It's super easy to use, all you do is select which server from around the world you wanna
connect to, and you're done.
Enjoy clutch features like double VPN protection for extra security, an internet kill switch
for the very rare time the VPN disconnects, super fast peer-to-peer downloads, and unlimited
bandwidth for just above 3 bucks a month if you sign up for 2 years.
I actually signed up for a year of NordVPN at full retail price way before they hooked
me up with a referral link and a discount code for you guys, so I obviously recommend
them as my go to VPN service.
Head on over to nordvpn.com/zach or click the first link in the description to learn
more.
Alright so to start off the PC gaming news this week, we gotta talk about the abundance
amount of game deals and free games going on this week.
To start, Ubisoft is hooking us up again with some free games, just like they did last week.
They are giving away Assasin's Creed Black Flag, World in Conflict, and also Watch Dogs!
All you have to do is open up your UPlay app and redeem them to your account, and I would
highly recommend doing that because both Black Flag and Watch Dogs are some pretty solid
titles, especially for free 99.
Moving over to Twitch Prime, if you have an active Twitch Prime account, everyone that
has Amazon Prime has this by the way, then you can also redeem Super Hot for free.
Super Hot is a very unique FPS game where time is frozen except when you're making
moves.
Here you have to shoot bad guys and avoid their bullets and I've actually been dying
to check this one out because it rated pretty high when it released.
You do have to redeem the game through the Twitch Desktop app which is a bummer, but
hey, it's still free.
And moving right along to GOG.com where you can redeem Oxenfree for free.
Oxenfree for free, Oxenfree for free.
Anyway, Oxenfree is a unique story driven mystery type game that I personally haven't
tried out for myself, but this one also rated pretty high a couple of years ago.
All you have to do is either go to GOG.com or open up your GOG Galaxy software and redeem
the title.
And to top it all off, over on Humble Bundle they are currently doing a huge Indie Mega
weeks sale where a ton of great indie games are at some baller prices.
Just to name a few, Stardew Valley is 34% down to $10, Hollow Knight is 34% off down
to $10, Ark Survival Evolved is 40% off down to $36 and The Witness is 50% off down to
20 bucks.
Pretty solid deals if you ask me, although keep in mind that the Steam Winter sale is
coming soon and I don't know if those deals will be better or worse than these.
And to wrap up the tech news this week, there's a new game that was released that I'm sure
some of you will be interested in, and that's Bridge Constructor Portal.
A new Portal game, whaaat?
Well not really, it's a mashup between a Bridge Constructor and the Portal series and
it actually does use the official license of portal so it's completely legit.
It looks like you're basically just designing bridges but in the portal theme, so kinda
like creating your own Portal puzzles.
Don't judge me here, but I've actually never played a Portal game even though they're
like some of the highest rated PC games of all time, but to me it seems like if you've
been itching for some more Portal action this should help you out a bit.
Let me know if you pick this one up.
Well that wraps up Weekly Download episode number 75.
