(Singing) I know my God has made the way for
me. I know my God has made the way for me.
ANNOUNCER: Join Kenneth Copeland on today's Believer's Voice
of Victory and learn how to strengthen your faith by
speaking the Word only over your situation. It is the
corresponding action that brings results. Now let's join Kenneth.
KENNETH: Now, we're going to be talking about the
basic fundamentals of faith, the very basic
fundamentals. Let's go to the 5th chapter of Mark, Mark 5.
The basic fundamentals of faith are very, very simple. Verse 25,
"A certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and
had suffered many things of many physicians, and spent all that
she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind." Now
notice. "When she had heard, she came in the press behind and
touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his
clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway," or immediately,
"the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her
body that she was healed of that plague. Jesus, immediately
knowing in himself that virtue--" or I read a
translation today that just said, "healing power," "--had
gone out of him, turned him about in the press and said, Who
touched my clothes? His disciples said unto him, Thou
seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who
touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done
this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing
what was done in her, came and fell down before him and told
him all the truth. He said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath
made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of that plague."
The number one step, or the number one basic fundamental, of
faith is, believe the Word, then say the Word. That's the first
thing. We read that in Mark 11:23. Let's look in II
Corinthians 4:13. II Corinthians, Chapter 4, 13th
verse, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it
is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also
believe, and therefore we speak." That's just basic
fundamental. We believe. Believe what? Believe the Word. And
therefore we speak. Speak what? Speak the Word, or speak what
you believe. In fact, what you say is your faith speaking.
Amen. "Well, Brother Copeland, I don't know whether I believe
that or not." Well, your faith just spoke it. (Laughter) Right
here. It's that basic, it's that fundamental, because the human
being was created to speak. Words were not given to mankind
primarily for communication. Words were given to mankind
primarily for release of power-- AUDIENCE: Amen. KENNETH: --for
creative use, because we were created in the likeness of God.
Now, God communicated with Adam, but God also used His Word to
create the whole universe. Amen. So the words were primarily as a
release of power and creative force. So, number one, believe
it, then say it. Romans 10:10, and we've got three witnesses
here, Mark 11:23, II Corinthians 4:13, and now Romans Chapter 10,
the 10th verse, "For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation." That is the basic fundamental of faith. AUDIENCE:
Yes, sir. KENNETH: Now, to believe it then say it is so--it
is so basic. It's--it is the--the first step into faith.
Now, you can get--you can get so--so detailed and go--and it's
not a wrong thing to do, to go off and study in different
directions. But if you're not cautious about what you're
doing, you get away from the basics. This is basic. And like
I said earlier, it is so simple, you've got to have help to
misunderstand that. (Audience Agrees) Believe the Word, then
say it. Amen. All right, the second basic fundamental of
faith is, act on your faith, act on the Word. Number one, believe
the Word, say the Word. Number two, act on the Word. Become a
doer of the Word, not just a hearer only; acting on your
faith. Now, is this what happened to the woman with the
issue of blood? Well, let's see. ABC of faith. A, she heard.
Let's get back over there in Mark, Chapter 5. A, "When she
had heard of Jesus--" "Well, Brother Copeland, what do you
think she heard?" I can tell you exactly what she heard. I don't
have to think. I know. Romans 10:17, it tells me exactly what
she heard. It had to be the Word because faith came. (Audience
"Amens") Huh? "Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of
God." It had to be the Word because faith came. Somebody
say, "Amen." (Audience "Amens") Ha-ha-ha. Glory to God. I knew
you'd like that. She heard. I would like to know what she
heard. Maybe we'll get a chance to talk to her about it. I'd
like that. I mean, we talked--I've talked about her,
you know, for 51 years. Maybe I get to speak to her at least a
little bit because she's a--she's a champion now. She's
in the Book. Hallelujah. Glory to God. "When she had heard of
Jesus," she did what? She said. She heard, and then she said,
"If I may but touch his clothes, I shall be whole." But that's
not enough. She believed it, obviously, because faith came.
And she said it. It said she said it. But that isn't enough.
They don't get it. Now--now, follow me on this. Let's follow
through on this. "I know. I know if I--ho, if I could touch the
hem of His garment, I know if I touch His garment, I'll be made
whole. I know it. I know this. I just know it. I just know it. I
just know it with all my heart if I could just touch His
clothes. But--but--but look at--look at that mess out there.
Look at this mess, and look at me. I'm skin and bones. I--I
can't get out there. Look--look at me. I'm bleeding now. I
got--I can't go out there. I can't do it. I can't do it. I'm
too weak. No, I can't do it. I can't--no, I can't do it." One
translation translates this, "and she said, and she kept
saying." You know she had all those thoughts. But what
did--what kind of thought? "Look at me. Look at that mess of
people out there. That's Jairus. I used to go to that same
synagogue. I--you know, I was part of that synagogue.
And--but, hey, I'm bleeding now. I can't get out there. I can't
do this. Even if I was to get out there, even if I made it
that far, hey, he's got the authority to stone me for this.
I can't--and I--I don't want to be a violator of the law anyway.
I don't want to violate the law. I don't want
to violate God's Word. I just can't." Look,
see, feel. "I can't," all based in the physical
senses. All of it's based in physical ideas and
physical senses and too much thought, too much thinking about
it. "Well, you know--ya-ya-ya-ya, I just can't.
I just can't do it. I just can't. Oh, Lord, oh, I'm
bleeding worse than I've ever been. I just can't do this. I
don't--I--maybe if I hadn't already got all cut up and beat
up and all that, but--but I--you know, I just--besides that, I
get out there, even if they didn't stone me, I'd be in
trouble. I might lose my place to live here. I've lost
everything else I got, and I--I just have so little left. I just
can't afford to lose anything." You just keep thinking like
that, and keep talking like that, and keep thinking like
that, and keep talking like that, I don't care how much
Bible you believe. (Laughter) It ain't going to work. You can
talk the Word all morning and talk this other stuff all
afternoon, you will negate every word of faith that you ever
said. (Audience Agrees) And the more--whatever--(Clears Throat)
Excuse me. Whatever you talk about the most will get to be
the biggest thing in your mind. (Audience Agrees) It'll get
bigger and bigger and bigger. It'll turn to a giant and you
will turn to a grasshopper. (Audience Agrees) Amen. But the
more you talk about Jesus and the more you talk about how big
He is, and the more you talk about how wonderful He is, and
the more you talk about what He said in His Word, that--you
said, "Whosoever, dear Lord, that means me. If I'm a
whosoever, then I can do this thing. Glory to God." (Cheers &
Applause) "I've got the faith of God in me." You just keep
talking that, you just keep talking that way. You just keep
listening to tapes like that, and you keep talking that way
and talking that way. "Glory to God, I believe it. I believe I
receive it. Glory to God, I believe my--hey, I know this, I
can tell you this. I can tell you right now what's wrong with
me is under the curse of the law." (Audience Agrees) "What's
wrong with me is under the curse of the law." AUDIENCE: Amen!
KENNETH: "Deaf ears are under the curse of the law." (Audience
"Amens") "But I know that the Bible said, in Galatians 3:13,
that Christ Jesus has redeemed me from the curse of the law,
therefore I no longer have deaf ears. Glory to God." (Applause)
"No, I have hearing ears. I have seeing eyes. I have walking
legs. Hallelujah." (Applause) Hallelujah. AUDIENCE:
Hallelujah. KENNETH: "An issue of blood is under the curse. But
Christ Jesus redeemed me from the curse, therefore I no longer
have an issue of blood. I have healing! I have health! I'm
healed and well and strong! Hallelujah." You keep talking
that. You keep talking that to yourself. Get up talking that in
the morning. When you get up in the night, you get up talking
that way, you get up thinking like that. Glory to God.
AUDIENCE: Come on. KENNETH: Don't you let the devil get on
you and start discouraging you. (Audience Agrees) No, no, no,
no, don't do it. But if he can get you over in the, "Oh, look
at me. Oh, I'm so weak. Oh, I'm just skin and bones, oh, no.
What am I gonna do? Oh, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'm 200
pounds overweight. What am I gonna do? I can't do this. I
can't--ya-ya-ya." Really? (Laughter) You can talk yourself
into or out of anything. AUDIENCE: Amen! KENNETH: But
this is the key. Oh, this unlocks the treasures. Because,
see, this and Jesus are one and the same. (Audience "Amens")
(Applause) Hallelujah! Oh, we worship You. Come on, let's just
praise the Lord here for a few moments. Just praise Him and
worship Him. Bless the name of the Lord. Bless the name of
Jesus. Bless His holy name. Glory, glory, glory, glory,
glory. She heard, she said, she came and touched. I said, "She
heard, she said, she came and touched." I said, "She heard--"
AUDIENCE: She heard. KENNETH: "--and she said--" AUDIENCE: And
she said. KENNETH: --and she got out in the street! Hallelujah.
She got out where it was dangerous. She got on out there.
It was--hey-hey-hey! Amen. (Audience "Amens") AUDIENCE:
Glory! Amen. KENNETH: She's afraid somebody's going to catch
her out there. She intended to go touch Him, get healed, and
sneak out. (Laughter) But what happened? When she touched that
garment, she didn't know how all this worked. You don't have to
know how all it works. She didn't know that she was--she
was putting a faith demand on that healing power with which
He's anointed. And the moment she did, it flowed out of Him,
and He stopped and said, "Who touched my clothes?" Well, that
frightened her. She thought, "Oh, no, I'm caught." (Laughter)
"I'm caught!" Amen. "Hey, somebody touched my clothes. Who
touched me?" Fearing and trembling, she told him all the
truth. So she heard, she said, she came and touched, and then
she testified in the truth. Now, this took a while because she
told about all the doctors. AUDIENCE: Yeah. KENNETH: She
told about all the--that it had cost her everything that she
had. She must have gone into some detail here. You know, "I'm
driving a nice car, but, boy, they got that. And I--I had a
nice place. I'm living in the streets, and I'm living there in
that back room over there." Now, this--this casts the light on
somebody else, Jairus. Jairus believed the Word. AUDIENCE:
Yes. KENNETH: Now, what word had he heard? Let me just talk to
you just for a moment here. You'll like this. Particularly
the preachers, you'll like it. You remember when the centurion
sent word to Jesus about his servant? Jesus said, "I will
come and heal him." Now, there's the will of God on healing. "I
will come and heal." Now, what did the--what was the testimony
of the people? They were talking to Jesus. "This man built us a
synagogue." Huh? Where did this take place? Capernaum. Jairus
was the leader of that synagogue. AUDIENCE: Yeah,
right. KENNETH: Whoo-hoo! Oh, yeah. Jairus was leader of that
synagogue. AUDIENCE: Yeah. KENNETH: That's Jesus' old
synagogue. AUDIENCE: Amen. Yes, sir. KENNETH: This stuff gets
better and better, doesn't it? (Laughter) Well, of course. He
knew Jesus personally. They lived almost next door to one
another. Jesus' home was right there in Capernaum. AUDIENCE:
Yes, sir. Yes. KENNETH: And check it out. Follow Jesus when
He went into Jairus' house and raised his daughter from the
dead, check it out now. It said he left there. Two blind men
followed Him into "the" house. AUDIENCE: Yes. KENNETH: So it
was right there next door, just right close to that synagogue,
Jesus' house. AUDIENCE: Ah. Glory. KENNETH: They just
followed Him right on in. AUDIENCE: Right. Wow. KENNETH:
Got in there, and He said, "You believe I can do this?" They
said, "Oh, yeah, Lord." He said, "Be it done unto you according
to your faith." AUDIENCE: Hallelujah. Yes, yeah. Whoo!
KENNETH: Where do you think they got their faith? In the same
synagogue, man. What's the matter with you? AUDIENCE:
That's right. (Laughter) KENNETH: What was His custom in
the synagogue? Stand up and read and preach on the anointing!
Amen. (Audience "Amens") It's "Amen" time right here.
(Audience "Amens") Hallelujah! (Audience "Hallelujahs") Thank
You, Lord. Thank You, Lord, thank You, Lord, thank You,
Lord, thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord. The fourth
fundamental, faith will not work in an unforgiving heart.
ANNOUNCER: We hope you enjoyed today's teaching from Kenneth
Copeland Ministries. And remember Jesus is Lord.
