Hey guys, it's Nat and today I'm going to be unboxing the August Fairyloot box.
So, this month's theme is, like, something to do with pirates and I've not read a lot
of pirate books, but recently I've been really wanting to, so I'm excited for this box.
And here is the first peek and ... I'll just take out the spoiler card.
Yeah, "Mutinous Pirates" is what the theme is and this is so gorgeous.
Amazing art as always.
And as always I will be leaving links to all the curators of this box in the description,
so you guys can check out all of these amazing bookish small businesses, so without further
ado let's just see what the first item of the box is.
Okay, alright.
Oh no!
Alright, I think I fixed it, hopefully.
Okay, that was a little scary, but it's this cute little, like, banner with a quote, hold
on, it says, "When people say impossible, the usually mean improbable."
This is a Nikolai quote and I love this, oh my gosh, I'm so happy.
Aw!
Nikolai is my favorite from the Grisha trilogy, I love this!
Well, he's not my favorite, but he's one of my favorites, I do love him.
So, that hanging flag was designed by Reverie and Ink.
They've been popping up a lot lately, not that I'm complaining, they are amazing, but
I just feel like I've been seeing them a lot lately.
Okay, so the next thing is in this cute little pouch and it is a water bottle.
Oh, that's cute.
Okay, it says, "Why is the rum always gone?"
I don't know if you can tell 'cause it's kinda clear.
That help?

Oh my gosh, that does help, okay cool.
So, this is a Pirates of the Caribbean quote and it was designed by KDP Letters and it's
so cute oh my god I love it, that's awesome.
Alrighty, what's next?
Ooh!
This is awesome.
I have always wanted one of these *laughs* it's a pirate wax seal, oh my gosh, I'm gonna
take it out so you can see the design of the seal.
One second.
Okay, so this is like a cool skull and, like, crossed swords design, if it would focus,
you can kinda see anyways, but this is really cool.
My gosh, and this–the wax is like this glittery gold color, it's so cool, oh my gosh.
I can't wait to use this, I'm so excited, oh my god.
So, the wax seal was made by Fairyloot.
*sings* Ooh, a candle!
Okay, I don't know this, okay, so this is um Elian I think that's how you pronounce
that?
And it's Prince of Midas.
The scent is sea mist and musk.
Ooh, that's nice, I like that and it's glittery on top.
So this candle is inspired by To Kill a Kingdom and it was made by Nerd Poured Candles.
This is awesome, I love me some bookish candles, so ... Ooh, a pin!
No, it's not a pin.
Okay, *laughs* I thought it was a pin, it's actually a magnet and it says, "Oh, the ridiculous
things one has to do when one is a pirate."
And this is really cute, it's like, I don't know if you can tell, but there's like a treasure
chest in the background there.
That's really cute.
And this magnet was designed by Miss Phi, I think that's how you pronounce that.
So, the next item was made by geeky clean, it is this Sweet Peat sugar scrub soap it
says, "Sweat Peat Botanical Magic, Use: Dissolution of internal organs."
There is also a disclaimer on the spoiler card that it will not dissolve your internal
or external orga–organs and it has to do with the book.
So, this is an item related to the book of the month and I'm excited.
I wonder–does it smell good?
I'm sure it does, but I don't know how to open it.
Ooh, this is interesting.
I don't know, it just looks like a really nice texture.
Mm, that's nice, it's just like a nice, fresh, clean scent.
I like that, okay.
This is really cool and I like that pretty blue color.
So, the next item is what I've been most excited about for this box and it is a King of Scars
sampler, ugh, I'm so excited!
I cannot wait to read this.
I wonder if there's like, I think in a past sampler, there's been like a design–ha ha!
There is a design!
Okay, so it folds out into this really cool, like, poster and it says, "Privateer, soldier,
bastard, survivor, ruler, monster."
I love this, this is awesome!
Oh my gosh, this is so cool!
Okay, so it's like–this is like a little information card for these like cool special
editions of books.
They were actually designed by MinaLima and they did a lot of the prop design for the
Harry Potter movies, so this is really cool.
Oh my gosh, I love these, I'm getting some of these editions, definitely.
There really cool, oh also, on the back there's Secret Garden art.
Oh, that's so cool!
These editions are from an imprint of Harper Collins, so that's really cool!
And we've made it to the book of the box, it's time.
Okay, so as always we have the bookmark that matches the art on the spoiler card.
We also have this cute little, I–this has to do with the book obviously, I don't know
exactly what it is.
Then, we have the letter from the author and the character art on the back, which is done
by the same person who does the art for the spoiler cards every month and it's taratjah,
I don't know how to say it, like, but it's–I'll leave links to her stuff down below so.
So, the book of the month is These Rebel Waves by Sara Raasch and it has green stained edges, oh my
gosh, it's so beautiful!
Oh, I'm so excited, I loved Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch, I do have to finish that series,
but I loved the first book and I can't wait to read this one, oh my gosh, yay!
Also, this was signed by the author, ooh, this is so exciting, oh my gosh, I love this.
Oh, what does it look like naked?
Not too exciting, it's just black, green spine.
Okay, so I'm just gonna read y'all the synopsis, 'cause lately I've just been lazy and I am
not great at summarizing things on my own, so ... I don't know how to pronounce this
first character's name *laughs* Ah-duh-luna or maybe Ay-duh-luna–anyways, she's a soldier.
Five years ago, she helped the magic-rich island of Grace Loray overthrow its oppressor,
Argrid, a country ruled by religion.
But adjusting to postwar life has not been easy.
When an Argridian delegate vanishes during peace talks with Grace Loray's new Council,
Argrid demands brutal justice–but Lu suspects something dangerous is at work.
Oh, I like that she has a simple nickname, I like that.
Devereux is a pirate.
As one of the stream raiders who run rampant on Grace Loray, he scavenges the island's
magic plants and sells them on the black market.
But after Argrid accuses raiders of the diplomat's abduction, Vex–another simple nickname,
which I like–becomes a target.
An expert navigator, he agrees to help Lu find the Argridian–but the truth they uncover
could be deadlier than any war.
Oh gosh, another hard name.
Okay Be-nat, Be-nah maybe, I don't know, it looks kinda French.
Anyway, he's a heretic.
The crown prince of Argrid, he harbors a secret obsession with Grace Loray's forbidden magic.
When Ben's father–thank goodness–the king, gives him the shocking task of reversing Argrid's
fear of magic, Ben has to decide if one prince can change a devout country–or if he's building
his own pyre.
As conspiracies arise, Lu, Vex, and Ben will have to decide who they really are, and what
they are willing to become for peace.
Does this have a pronunciation guide?
'Cause I really think people need to follow Sarah J. Maas's example and add pronunciation
guides, if they're gonna use these, like, ridiculous fantasy names, they're so hard!
I don't see one, it's fine.
And they have easy nicknames, which is nice.
Anyways, I am really excited to read this.
Alright, so we've made it to the August Fairyscoop, we have the interview with the author, some
recommended reads–ooh, I wanted to read Pacifica, I totally forgot about that book.
And then we have the next month's theme, which is Starcrossed Swoons, so the September box
will feature items inspired by Twilight, Strange the Dreamer, A Court of Thorns and Roses,
Shadowhunters, and Shadow and Bone.
Oh, I've read most of these.
Hold on ... yeah ... oh my gosh, yay, I've read all but one of these, that's so nice.
I haven't read Strange the Dreamer yet.
I want to finish the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy before I get to that, but–I
know don't have to, but I want to.
And the book of next month's box will have an exclusive cover, sprayed pages, and will
be signed by the author.
