Youtube daily report w Sep 23 2018

hey guys and welcome back to my Channel today we are cleaning again right now

I'm just getting everything organized because we are going on a beach trip for

Jason's 40th birthday which is today Thursday September 20th so it's so I

want to get this house cleaned up before we go so that way when we get home the

only thing we have to do is our laundry and that's it

so today while I was in this store I went and found this new diffuser and I

wanted to give it a try laguna moon sent me all of these amazing essential oils

and i wanted to give them a try so the one that I picked for today is orange

and it smelled amazing I filled up my diffuser with water and then I added

about 10 drops of the orange and you could smell it throughout the whole

house while I was cleaning

so I was playing around with this diffuser and it turns colors how cool is

that this will be really pretty at night with no lights on now I'm just going to

start cleaning up and getting everything organized and off my counters so I can

wash them

in my last cleaning video I could introduce you guys to Grove

collaborative that is where I get all of my cleaning supplies now they not only

smell amazing but they also clean amazing as well if you guys can see

last night and then back to cleaning my kitchen

now I'm going to use my pumpkin dish soap from mrs. Myers and wash the cup

because that cannot go into the dishwasher and then I will put the rest

in the dishwasher

now I'm going to take this method cleaner that I got from Grove

collaborative as well and I'm just going to wash out my sink I know on the bottle

it says for the bathroom cleaner but I use it for my sink as well

once I'm done with the kitchen I'm gonna quickly clean my bathroom it doesn't

really need to be done all that much because I did it on Monday and I deep

cleaned it scrubbed it really good so I just wanted to wipe everything down and

make sure there was no dust or hair on the counters

now I'm just moving on to the living room and I'm going to dust this with the

all-purpose cleaner

now moving on to my room I'm just going through dust my little cabinet and clean

it out because Sophia seems to store all of her belongings in my cabinet and then

I'm going to clean the sheets and also clean the top of my TV stand

now I'm gonna quickly sweep my floors and vacuum I scrubbed my floors

yesterday but every day they need to be cleaned because we do have three cats

the last and final thing I like to do is take my essential oils and I am taking

chamomile this time and putting it in Sophia's humidifier she loves this thing

she uses it every single night well thank you guys so much for watching I

This is the first episode of a series of videos named "Change your accent with me"

As I said, this is the first episode of a series of videos

in which I'll teach you how to speak with any specific accent

I'm planning to make videos on how to speak with the American, the British, the Canadian and the Australian accents

However, depending on the number of likes and views

I might go into this topic even deeper

and talk about specific accents like the Californian accent

of the accent from a specific city

such as Manchester, London, Sidney

so on, so forth

This is the first episode and I think I'm actually insane because

because I'll do something that some of my friends told me not to do

because in one video, in this video

I'll teach you the ultimate technique for you to master any accent

that you choose

Yes, you'e heard me...After watching this video

this only video, you'll be able to learn

how to speak with any accent that you've chosen

My friends told me to keep this video for the last episode

Nevertheless I'm not a patient person

and I don't like holding back knowledge

so, get a pen and paper because from this moment on

I'll teach you the ultimate technique to learn any accent

So the first step is, think of a person whose English you look up to

Someone whose English you admire

So, think of someone you really admire as an English speaker

This is the first step...Think of someone you would like to speak like

Ok, I'm not going to choose a person

I'm going to ask my subscribers to choose a person

so that I can use him or her as an example here

I'll go right now to our group on Telegram and I'll ask them

to tell me one person whose English they admire

The problem is that it's 2:30 a.m. now

So, I asked in the group for a name of a person whose English they looked up to

and the first person who answered my question was a girl

and she said "Shawn Mendes"

Alright, I'm going to do that then, I'm going to use him as an example

This is the first step, choose a person

and we've done that, we've chosen Shawn Mendes

The second step is, go to youtube and search for this person's interview

I like interviews because this is our opportunity to listen to this person's real accent

as opposed to when they're performing

singing or acting

When they are at interviews, they speak naturally, the way they normally do

on a daily basis and that's what we're looking for

The third step is, download this video and turn it into MP3

and this is how I do it:

I just add a "double s" before the word "youtube"

and then I download it

After that, I use a program named FORMAT FACTORY

in order to turn the video that I've just downloaded into MP3

If you don't know how to do that, just look for me in our group on Telegram

and I'll teach you how to do this part more carefully

The fourth step is, listen to this MP3 as many times as possible

While you are on the bus, on the train, driving to work

Wherever you are...Taking a shower

Listen to this interview a lot...A whole day...

For two days in a row, if possible

The fifth step is:

Go back to Youtube and watch this interview again

but this time you're going to slow the video down, just like this:

to the slowest speed

Now...This is the tricky part:

You're going to repeat what he is saying right after him

You will almost try to speak simultaneously with him

You're going to try to repeat what he is saying syllable by syllable

little by little

imitating his way of saying things

So, he says something and you repeat what he is saying immediately after him

like a fraction of a second after him

It'll be easy because he'll be speaking really slowly

"So, with that being said, I..."

Ha! He sounds just like my drunk uncle!

and that's exactky what we're looking for

You'll do that many times. Each time you do that, you will speed up the video a little bit

until the moment you reach the normal speed of the video

"I took that to heart and I really just...

...let myself create music that...

...I thought was good...

...and I didn't think about genre, so...

...when it comes to songs like "In My Blood"...

...which is more rock...

influenced and then you go to "Lost in Japan"

...which is on the other side of the map like an R&B sense...

...I really just...

...My thing was to make good music and to not...

and you repeat everything he is saying right after him

with the video at the normal speed

The secret is: never pause the video

and it's ok to miss some words

No problem if you can't say every single word

It's not really important

The important is that you try to imitate the way he is speaking

The way he is saying things

Do that as many times as you can

Remember... No pain, no gain

After you get tired of this interview, do the same thing

all over again with a different person

and Shawn Mendes is Canadian, so

Now we know that you like the Canadian accent

After having done that many times with the person that you've picked

You can pick another person from the same nationality

because you're going to practice one specific accent

Remember

So, if you've chosen a person with the British accent

keep choosing people with British accents

if you've chosen a person with an American accent

Keep choosing people with American accents

In our situation we've chosen Shawn Mendes...So...

So, we've got to think of other Canadian people

hmmm for example...

Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber, Jim Carrey

So on so forth

and we'll do the same process again from the start

If you do that for six months I guarantee that you'll start speaking just like a Canadian person

You'll speak with a Canadian accent for sure

You can do it with any accent, give it a try

This is the first video of the series "Change your Accent"

I'll bring here more techniques that you can use in order to change your accent, if you want to change it

And as I said before, it's not important to change your accent

I don't think you should do that, but...

If you want to do that, it's a fun way to do it

and I think it's a nice process

In the next video I'll talk about the specific accents

that you can learn

I'll probably start with the American accent, but

I'm not sure about that yet

I Tried Kourtney Kardashian's Detox Lemonade For A Week - Duration: 6:50.

so Kourtney can have her lemonade,

and every now and then, they let him out

- Hey, guys, today I'm gonna try

Kourtney Kardashian's Detox Lemonade recipe.

It's available on her app.

She has you put activated charcoal into the lemonade,

so the lemonade is actually black.

She claims that the charcoal has detoxifying properties

so it flushes alcohol and stuff out of the system,

and it also reduces bloating.

It's important to note that neither I,

nor Kourtney Kardashian, are medical experts,

so this isn't like a medicine or a cure-all.

Kourtney recommends talking to a doctor

before you start drinking this detox lemonade,

and we spoke with our research team here at Buzzfeed,

and they said to consume it no more

than a few times a week, just to be safe.

I kinda wanna figure out, is it actually worth drinking,

or is it one of those goopy Gwyneth Paltrow drinks

that rich Calabasas mommies drink

to feel better about themselves?

So now I'm gonna make the lemonade.

It's a three step recipe.

Step one is putting everything in the jar.

Step two is stirring the jar,

and step three is drinking it.

You start with eight cups of water.

Kourtney would probably be using Dasani or Avion,

or something bougie, but we're going

with Crystal Geyser today 'cause we're on a budget.

Three to five large lemons.

We went for five lemons.

You can go big or go home.

The Truth About This America's Got Talent Star - Duration: 4:15.

British teen Courtney Hadwin is most definitely on her way to becoming a star, thanks to her

jaw-dropping audition on Season 13 of America's Got Talent.

She was sent straight to the live shows by Howie Mandel, and her version of "Hard to

Handle" has already been watched more than 48 million times on YouTube.

Part of the attraction is that Hadwin seems to transform from an awkward teen into a seasoned

singer as the music kicks in.

But is she really that shy off-stage?

And where has she been hiding all this time?

Let's take a look at the singer's surprising rise to fame.

"Welcome to AGT, and what's your name?"

"Courtney."

"And what's your talent?"

"Singin"

Humble beginnings

Hadwin hails from a former mining village in northeast England.

Her mother Ann-Marie told The Sun,

"Hesleden is small.

[…] There isn't really much in the village.

You have to travel out to do things."

According to her grandfather, Tom Storey, the teen started busking in 2016, to pay for

a vocal coach, often traveling the entire length of the country in search of prime locations.

Storey told the Daily Mail,

"The shopkeepers […] love Courtney but the other buskers don't.

They keep asking her to move away because she is always the big attraction.

[…] It doesn't go down well with them."

"People don't really expect me to perform the way I do"

Local talent

Hadwin started gaining buzz in June 2016 when a video of the then-11-year-old was uploaded

to her school's Facebook page.

She told Chronicle Live at the time,

"I haven't been able to walk down the corridor at school without someone stopping me and

saying 'well done.'"

The Brit had already made the finals of TeenStar UK 2015, and the following year she was a

grand finalist in the Open Mic UK contest.

She didn't win, but she didn't give up.

Her mom told the Hartlepool Mail in 2016,

"She comes in from school, does her homework and then she practices singing every night."

"I don't know how I've become the characters, but it's just so much fun"

Taking on the haters

In 2017, Hadwin brought the house down with her blind audition for The Voice Kids U.K.,

and even made it to the finals.

But sadly, she was targeted by online trolls after the show aired.

Storey told the Daily Mail,

"Online, people were quite cruel, saying she was not a singer but a shouter.

[…] She came through it, but it was upsetting."

The aspiring singer took it all in stride, telling The Sun,

"I tried to focus on the positives.

It didn't surprise me, really, because I seem different to other people."

But angry viewers struck back again after Hadwin advanced to the semi-finals of America's

Got Talent.

"Bloody hell, Courtney.

You're like this shy little thing when you first came out and then you sing and you're

like a lion."

One user tweeted:

"Courtney Hadwin said she'd never performed [before] an audience that big and she and

her dad acted like they didn't know if she could perform cuz she's so shy.

But she was a finalist in The Voice UK!

So act is fake!

[You shouldn't be] allowed to compete if you've been on other shows!"

"I'm just scared to go on stage because it's a really big experience"

Others took issue with the fact that she had a lot of experience even without The Voice

Kids.

"She's really shy.

The U.K. 'doesn't get her'

You might be wondering why Hadwin didn't go straight from The Voice Kids UK to Britain's

Got Talent.

According to the singer, she chose to audition for the American version because all of her

musical heroes hail from the States.

She said, via The Express,

"I remember singing and then getting to a certain point in the song and seeing people

enjoy it, which made me really happy.

I must've been doing something right."

"I remembered that people like Janis Joplin, they didn't listen to anybody and they got

what they wanted in the end"

Looking to the future

After her big audition, Howie Mandel compared Hadwin to one of the most influential acts

in history, telling Access Hollywood,

"It harkens back to [when] I was a little boy and I was sitting at home on Sunday night

watching The Ed Sullivan Show, and I saw the Beatles"

"I feel it's the same thing with this little girl."

And Mandel's not the only one who's all about Hadwin's talent.

Julie Miles, Hadwin's vocal coach, told Hexham TV,

"She's already just won the hearts of just so many people, worldwide"

A $325 Smart Home Security System You Can Install Yourself - Part 1 - The Components You Need - Duration: 10:46.

Hello everyone. Thanks for tuning in again. I'm going to start a brand new

series here on Automate Your Life and it's intention is to solve real-world

problems with smart home or home automation technology. Now what we're

going to do today is I'm going to start a three-part series called the $325

smart home security system and this is going to give you the opportunity to

create your own home security system using smart home technology, and of

course you're not going to have to pay any of those home monitoring fees that

you see on TV, and in the commercials. So today's video is what I'm going to tell

you you're going to want to buy for this $325

home security system. This is just the components, part two I'll show you how to

actually get those all installed in your home, and then part three is an optional

piece that I'm going to show you to save a little money. It's a little harder to

set up but ultimately I think it's worth it because it will save you a lot of

money, so let's get going. Alright so now for me when we talk about a home

security system, I'm thinking about three different components. The first being

obviously we don't want anyone who's not supposed to be in our home to be in our

home, so kind of the the actual security side. You want to know if someone's here

and you want to be able to phone the police. Now second to that is leak or

flood detection. Water damage does a lot of damage to a lot of homes now, and I

think if you've been paying attention to your insurance policies, they're not

always fully covering you in all of those situations. The other thing is of

course fire detection, fire or smoke detection, and that's actually probably

the hardest piece in the smart home sector to find, kind of a cost reasonable

solution actually. So those are the three things that I'm going to be solving for

you here today. Now the first component is the hub and

the hub is really important because most of the sensors that you're going to use

in this are ZigBee protocol, and ZigBee is kind of the protocol that has won out

here at this point in terms of sensor technology. We've seen z-wave as well,

that's a great protocol as well, this hub, and I have one in my home it does

incredible things when it comes to home automation. One of the other things that

it does so well is it actually monitors both leaks and the security system in

your home. It becomes an in-home security system and that's base features here

from the Samsung Smartthings System. So that's a $90 USD hub for you this is

probably the simplest thing to install in your home. So that device is a Samsung

Smartthings Water Sensor or water leak sensor. Now the water leak

sensor is a $25 piece from Samsung, if you were to need multiple usually from

Samsung what you can do, you can either wait for a sale or you can go

ahead and you can buy in multiples of 3 or 5. They sell them for cheaper at that

point, but for most people if you're in your furnace room or your room with your

hot water tank, that's where you're going to need this sensor. What I've seen over

the last six months in my home, I've had one of these and it has been nothing

short of perfect. I have had one minor leak while that was here, and it did

alert me to that. The other thing is I've tested it multiple times and I haven't

had to change a battery in it, and you would think with so much monitoring

going on, that you you would have to do that. So the next thing I'm buying in

this system is to cover what's normally the two main doors in everybody's

household. So you're usually going to have a front door and a back door and

those are obviously easy entry points for people to come in,

and so what I'm going to buy is the Samsung Smartthings multi-purpose sensor,

and I'm gonna buy two of these, and you can see, hopefully you can see, the two

sensor or the two pieces of this sensor. They essentially work together in terms

of an electromagnetic signal, basically if they're close together, then

Samsung knows that the door is closed, and if they're split apart then Samsung

knows that the door is open. Now funny little piece here, these actually work on

your garage door if you'd like, and lots of people have been using them for those

as well. Now in general people have a few more places that are considered entry

points for people into their homes, and I kind of think about lower level

screened windows, where somebody could break the screen out and then maybe take

the window itself out. So what I'm going to recommend there is two more of a

Samsung Smartthings device. It's a motion sensor and these are $25 USD apiece, and

they work anywhere from about the zero to the fifteen foot range in terms of

distance, so you actually point these motion sensors towards the entry points

in your home, a couple of the windows kind of off to the side, you don't want

them looking out the actual window, cause they'll pick up motion and changes in

light outside, but they are very good inside the home at picking up motion

when people are that 0 to 15 feet range away. So overall when you look at it, this

gives you four points within your home that you're able to monitor, that you

know are easy entry points for people into your home. So now with all of those

devices purchased from Samsung, you're gonna go out and you're just gonna buy

those just from, Samsung and as I said earlier, with most of those detectors if

you needed another one, you would be buying a 3-pack and the price per device

goes down with Samsung. So that's a deal I've seen almost

always there with Samsung. Now after we purchased all of those things what we

have left is $120 and that leaves us enough to

purchase a Nest smoke and CO protect smart home monitoring sensor. So this is

going to protect you from fire, and of course carbon monoxide, which is a big

killer now in the United States and Canad,a and around the world. So it's a

really important component to your smart home and it gives you the opportunity to

sense those things when you are either at home or away, and you're going to get

notifications both on your phone or a tablet and also of course the audible

alarm in your home, which is very important if you're in the home and

we're talking about smoke or carbon monoxide. One little option here that

I'm going to give you, and this is something we're going to explore in the

last part of this series, and what this option is, it's called WyzeCam 2. Now

the WyzeCam 2 is a small camera device. I'm going to give you one little option

here that allows you to remove some of the cost and complexity from the system

it's not a perfect solution, but for a lot of people this will save them a lot

of money, and so people are gonna take that right now. What this is is the WyzeCam 2

and this is the device here. This is all you get when you buy one of these.

It's a$20 USD camera that you can purchase, and it's a smart

home camera. It has the capability of doing three very important things. It's

capable of motion detection and sound detection when you're away from your

home. Now on top of that it can also listen for different types of alarms, so

it can listen, and specifically in the settings for this little camera, is a

carbon monoxide sound or alarm detection function in a smoke alarm detection

function. So it uses those standard sounds that you're going to get from

your regular home monitors, and it will send you those

notifications. Now what I'll tell you is that this device then can replace a

number of the components that we've been talking about today, so it could replace

potentially the Samsung Smartthings motion sensors, which is $50 worth of

equipment here and it could potentially replace the Nest Protect CO and smoke

alarm that we just talked about. Now that would give you a savings of $170

for a $20 camera. I'd say you're probably going to need a

couple of those just to make sure that you're covered throughout your home, but

ultimately this could replace it. What I'm going to tell you about this little

device is it is imperfect, and you will have to do a little bit of extra setup,

and a little bit of extra work. So come part three in this series, you're going

to have to decide whether or not you want to head down that path. All right

there you go guys, those are all the different components, you can go ahead

and look them all up. There's links all down below to all of the devices that I

recommended today. You can go ahead, research all those items and stay tuned

for the next couple of parts in the series. So part two I'm going to show you

how to set up the most complicated components of the system, so that's going

to be the Samsung Smartthings, that's a large security system, and I'm

going to show you how to, right from the box, set those up get them working in

your home, and get you set up with both a home security system and a leak system.

So that's part 2 of this series, the third part is going to be what I just

talked to you about in terms of the WyzeCam 2, so I'm going to show you that

option and how it can go ahead and replace all those different components

to that security system, and become a very key and critical piece just for

I'm 18, I'm an adult.

Hi guys!

I'm Abby.

So, when I was 12,

I took a creative writing class

in middle school,

and the way that the teacher

had this class set up was

very, very odd.

It was all about quantity,

and not about quality,

so as long as you wrote something,

you got points for it,

and you got a 100

at the end of the class.

He would give us prompts sometimes

to write about, but other than that,

we could literally write anything we wanted

and get credit for it.

I took that very literally,

and when I finished this class,

I kept these two binders

filled with things that I wrote.

And I promised myself

that I would not read them

until after I was done with high school.

I am done with high school now,

and I have not looked at these

since I was 12,

and I'm kind of dreading doing it,

but I figured if I'm gonna look

through them I might as well do it

in a video, and so

we can be embarrassed together.

Now, like I said, some of these things

were prompts that he gave us

to write about,

and then some of them are literally

about nothing.

I'm really scared to look at these things,

so

Let's get started.

This first binder has this

really beautiful calligraphy

on the front.

I'm

I'm so scared.

I'm literally embarrassed

reading something that I wrote

when I was 12,

which was like,

not that long ago.

I'm gonna flip to the back,

because that's where the oldest stuff is.

(clears throat)

This is a page that we wrote

describing ourselves, and it starts out

with "I am intelligent."

And "intelligent" is spelled

I-N-T-E-L-L-E-G-E-N-T.

Good.

For this assignment,

he gave us this sentence.

"There was a crazy lady,"

"and she started to dance."

And then we had to write

from there, and I wrote,

"There was a crazy lady,"

"and she started to dance."

"I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck."

"I don't know what to write,"

"and I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck."

"I really don't know what to write."

"I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck."

And at the bottom of this page,

he put a smiley face,

and gave me points for this.

Quality writing.

This is a fine piece of literature.

So, this page starts with

"Hello Mr. Comerford."

And he wrote, "Hi."

"I'm sitting in Mrs. Pitt's class"

"because you aren't here,"

"and I finished my scary story."

He wrote, "Good."

"I don't have anything to do,"

"and I would make my story longer,"

"but my character was already eaten."

And he put, "smiley face."

Oh my god.

And it continues.

"I have nothing to do."

"Hey, I know a song that uses that same line."

"Mrs. Conner gave us the most interesting fact."

Literally writing about nothing.

"Donald Duck cartoons were banned"

"in Finland because the animals don't wear pants."

Oh my god,

- This is an assignment for school.

I turned this in to my teacher,

and I was writing the lyrics

to a Mary-Kate and Ashley song.

And I got points for writing this.

I literally don't know what either

of those are, and I've never known

the difference.

Me trying to act cultured.

hello guys today's video is all about essential oils and the carrier oils and

you must have guessed by seeing all the oils today I'm going to make a DIY

anti-aging serum and this is not the first time I'm using the serum actually

it's my almost fourth or fifth time that I'm making the batch of the serum and

after seeing the best result I have decided to make a video on it

otherwise I would not make it I have been using the serum around it's been I

think eight months around I'm using I'm going to make a recipe and I'll tell

you how to make any any sort of serum how to make any sort of DIY face serums and you

can switch the oils whatever you want just you have to remember the formula of

making this essential oil and then you can make any any sort of DIY face serum

according to your own skin if you're using like I'm using 10 ml bottle this

bottle is of 10 ml so if I'm using the carrier oil and my nourishing oil I will

use the 5 drop of I will make the 5% dilution so I will make the five drops

of frankincense oil essential oil and 5 drops of lavender oil and why I'm doing

this and how I know that how much I should put in my bottle I have

linked below a calculator which is the essential oil dilution calculator you

just have to put the bottle you are going to use and then it will tell you

the results how much drops you need okay now I am going to make the mixture I

have already told you the quantity why I have two dropper bottle because one I'm

going to make for my friend and this is for me actually which I will remake it

now first I'm going to make it for my friend so what I am going to do I am

going to add the almond oil in a bottle and I feel almost half of the bottles

with the almond oil you know 1/2 or you can add less

okay so you can see it's not almost half but it's just a sort of half

now here comes to your rosehip seed oil and I just want to show you how light it

is if you want to keep the things simple you can simply use the rose hip

seed oil you don't have to add other essential oils and now here comes to

lavender I have to add five drops of lavender one two three four five oops

you have to be careful with that

Frankincense essential oil is heavier than the lavender one just like

one Go go go come on to

you have to shake the blend very well because every oil has different

concentration level so what are the properties of these oil I am going to

explain one by one first I'm going to explain the property of rose hip seed

oils the rosehip seed oil has several antioxidant properties this is why it is

good for anti-aging it actually moisturizes your skin

without feeling it a greasy or heavy and it does not give you any sort of shine

this is a good thing about it and the good thing about rose hip seed oil it

does not give you break out in most of the population it does not give you

break out it's good for acne skin - then it comes to the frankincense seed oil the

good thing about frankincense seed oil it has the ability to prevent any blemishes

scars and hyperpigmentation which is caused by the acne and yes it's true

and then there is lavender essential oil oil is very soothing for your skin

especially even on the skins that get irritated very easily but it reduced and fight the appearance and formation of scars and this is a good

thing and we know about the almond oil is one of the best oil

because it reduced the scars and the dryness on your skin it actually

don't get absorb on your skin very quickly it's a sort of heavy oil but

when you mix it with other bland so it does not give you a bad mixture it

actually gives you a very light mixture how to use this essential oil just drop

usually three drops are more than enough for your whole face

body can give you significant benefits and help improve your overall health.

It is an extremely important part of a healthy lifestyle.

When you go to bed, the undigested toxins move from your small intestine to the large

one, and then finally make their way to the colon.

Once they're in the colon, they are excreted in the morning.

This is why you should sleep on your left side; it helps this process run more smoothly.

In fact, experts also suggest that after a big meal, people take a quick power nap on

their left side.

It will help digest the meal and give you more energy.

side, but instead, sleep on your left side.

By sleeping on your left side, you allow for a smoother blood flow towards your heart.

The best position to sleep for pregnant women is on the left side, with their knees bent

This occurs as the muscles in the roof of your mouth, tongue, and throat begin to relax.

The more narrow a person's airway is, the more powerful the airflow becomes, and the

louder the snoring.

Sleep specialist W. Christopher Winter told CNN that by sleeping on the left side, you

are actually keeping your tongue and throat in a neutral position.

This will help keep your airway clear so you can breathe properly.

It's also known that sleeping on your back makes snoring even worse because it pushes

your muscles to the back of your throat.

Now that you're aware of the reasons why you should sleep on your left side, keep watching

for tips on how to ensure you get a good sleep.

The first tip is to try and keep in sync with your body's sleep cycle, or its circadian

rhythm.

The National Sleep Foundation says that the easiest way to do this is to go to bed at

the same time every night.

This will help set your body's internal clock.

all together.

Most people don't know it, but caffeine is one of the major factors that can affect

the quality of a person's sleep.

If you toss and turn all night and find that you wake up multiple times throughout the

night, try to limit your caffeine intake.

Believe it or not, people who drink multiple cups of coffee a day, or drink coffee in the

evening have disrupted sleep cycles.

If you tend to drink coffee in the early evening, the caffeine can impact the quality of your

sleep.

So limit your caffeine intake and see if your sleep improves!

Avoid the Light: If you are familiar with the compound melatonin then you know that

it is essential for a good night's sleep.

The brain produces more melatonin when it is dark, so avoiding any sources of light

when you're trying to sleep is essential, says Sleep-Better.org.

If there is light present, melatonin will make you feel more alert, so you won't be

getting any sleep.

If you are one of those people that need the television on in order to go to bed, I would

recommend lowering the brightness so you can fall asleep quicker.

Before going to bed, you should put away all electronic devices (yes, this includes your

phone!) and avoid watching television.

Watch What You Eat and Drink: What you eat and drink during the day will have an impact

on your sleep at night.

According to Sleep Education, a study found that drinking coffee up to 6 hours before

going to bed reduces your sleeping time by one full hour.

And if you're eating dinner, try to do it at an earlier time, especially if you're

eating spicy foods.

Spicy and acidic foods can cause heartburn, and anyone who's experienced heartburn knows

you're not getting any sleep until it goes away.

Clear Your Head: One of the most common reasons why people can't sleep is they have too

much on their mind.

Whether it's stress or anger, it can make it difficult to have a good night sleep.

The American Psychological Association found in a survey that 43% of adults dealing with

stress have a hard time falling asleep.

If you're suffering from anxiety, there are steps you can take to help calm your mind.

If it's stress that you're dealing with, you might want to learn how to manage your

time efficiently and handle your stress in a productive way.

The more you overstimulate your brain during the day, the harder it's going to be to

shut it off when it's time to go to bed.

One way to reduce stress and clear your head is through meditation.

Meditation allows people to clear their minds of the everyday stresses in their lives.

To meditate, sit or lay down and relax your body.

Close your eyes and begin breathing in and out.

Clear your mind of all thoughts and continue breathing.

When you notice that your mind is getting distracted, try to clear the thoughts away

and just continue to focus on your breathing.

A short, 5 minute meditation might work for you as you begin, and you can gradually increase

the length as time goes on.

It is a great way to reduce stress and can improve the quality of your sleep as well

as the quality of your life.
