Youtube daily report Sep 23 2018

Today we'll watch a music video recommended

By our Russian subscribers

It's a music video called '#ЖИТЬ'

It doesn't have a title and the artist's name

It only has a hashtag

So we had some trouble while searching

'#ЖИТЬ' means 'live'

Because it's unique, while searching for what song it was

I found several information

At December 25, 2016

At the Russian Black Sea in the Sinai Peninsula

A Russian military aircraft had crashed

And 93 people had died l

And this year, at March 25, 2018

There was a fire at a shopping center in Siberia

It was also reported in the news at Korea

At the first they had reported 37 dead

But because there were many missing people, they reported more people to be dead

It was a sad accident that dozens had lost their lives

This song was written to honor the victims

Actually when the shopping mall went on fire

It was said that this song was aired various times on the Russian television

Maybe that's why it's a song to honor them

This song was sung by 27 singers

We'll go watch what song it is

It's a song released on 2016

It has scenes from 2018 on it too

So I thought it was a song released this year

It's a music video before the accident

I think my explanation was wrong

The content, as you guys could see

It's said to live

People hurt, terrors, fire, accidents

Victims

Because we need to keep on living towards hope

Because I know a bit about Russia's cultural backgrounds and some words

As watching the music video

The content touched my heart

We could watch the lyrics in English

And the Russian lyrics weren't that difficult so I did understand a bit

It's touching

The lyrics were really good

I liked that 'ЖИТЬ' kept repeating

Although they sang it in Russian

I could feel it with the English lyrics too

Felt as if it gave hope

There were various reactions of this music video

So I was curious what music video it was

But it was a good song

Why did you get so sore?

It's not easy to speak

So when accidents like such occurred, this song

Was broadcasted several times

It also ranked first place on Youtube for a few days when it went viral

The fact that songs like such exist

Give strength to people

It was a good song

What does I WANT TO PRACTICE MY ENGLISH mean? - Duration: 11:12.

Hi there, Vladimir here with another video about how to learn English

We've all heard the expression: practice makes perfect

And I believe we all agree with the validity of that statement

Practice does make perfect,

we need a lot of practice in order to perfect the skill or knowledge

we are trying to acquire,

it takes time and repetition

my question to you is:

What does

I need to practice my English

mean?

What does it mean to practice one's English?

I need to practice my English, it's what everybody thinks and wants

But what does is mean?

For 99% of people

practice English means: practice speaking English

Practice the language = practice speaking the language

And parallels are being drawn between

learning a foreign language and learning other skills

You hear people say:

To learn the piano, you need to practice playing the piano

hit the piano keys

To learn swimming, you need to go to a pool

practice swimming

To learn tennis, you need to play tennis

grab a racket and hit the courts

To learn to dance, you need to dance

You can't just stay home,

read books and watch TV

and expect to learn the piano, swimming, tennis, dancing

You need practice

By the same token = for the same reason

In order to learn English you need to go out and practice speaking it.

Enough reading books you are good at reading anyway

Stop watching videos

and go out and find somebody to talk to.

The most useless and expensive advice being:

Go to the country where the language is spoken and talk with the locals

Learn by speaking

just speak

don't worry about mistakes

just speak

Practice makes perfect

practice your speaking It is how we learn

No

This is such a bad analogy bad advice

a flawed argument

put forward by people who have never mastered a foreign language themselves

For 99% of people,

Practice English means: practice Speaking English

That's the wrong meaning and here is why:

First thing first

There is no such thing as practice speaking English

There is no such thing as practice your speaking

You don't practice your speaking,

you practice giving your opinion on a certain topic in English

you practice sharing your thoughts and feelings in English

And for you to give your opinion on a certain topic

cryptocurrency

you need to read about that topic in English

You can't read about crypto in your native language

and expect to have a fluent conversation about crypto in English

I often give examples with cryptocurrency

because it is something that caught me completely by surprise.

I woke up one morning and everybody was talking about

crypto and the blockchain revolution

and I was completely left out of the crypto conversation

I was complete lost

But I did not blame my lack of speaking practice for my ignorance

If I want to take part in a meaningful convo on cryptocurrency and blockchain

I need to read a lot about crypto

and not just one article but many, many articles

and books, and videos

There is no such thing as practice speaking English

There is no such thing as practice your speaking

You don't practice your speaking,

you practice giving your opinion on a certain topic in English

Speaking is not tennis, not piano not swimming, not dancing

Language is not a motor skill!

Language is a cognitive skill!

Language is knowledge / information

Information about your thoughts and feelings

about the world around us

about the stock market

about the weather

blockchain

Language is information

And the way we learn information is not through speaking

not through output

We acquire information through reading and listening

but primarily though reading,

through Input

Input before output

Input is what we mean by practice English

You need to have the information before you talk about it

You need to know about the stock market, before you talk about the stock market

You need to read about the stock market, before you talk about the stock market

You need to read about the stock market in English

if you want to talk about the stock market in English

You may be a Nobel prize winner in Economics

from France

with lots of knowledge and experience

but you still need to read about Economics in English

if you want to have a smooth and fluent conversation in English

once again,

In language learning,

practice means Input

it means

Reading and Listening to interesting and useful information

Practice means

the time and effort you put before you go out

and share the knowledge you've acquired

You read and learn enough about

cryptocurrency

or quantum physics,

or the stock market

and then you go out and talk about those things with other people

It's the same in out native language

You don't call up your friends telling them

lets meet up to practice our speaking

you say: let's catch up exchange information/news

Practice means Input,

Reading and Listening but mainly reading.

Practice doesn't mean Output, doesn't mean Speaking

Speaking the culmination of a lot of Reading and Listening

If we need to draw a parallel between

language learning and playing the piano, or dancing

then we need to say that

It takes a lot of practice before you get to Carnegie Hall

The practice is the time you spend with the piano at home

before you go out in front of other people

Practice is the time you spend in front of the mirror

before you show off your dance moves in front of an audience

The more you practice the better the moves

The more you read the better the conversation

When I say:

You need to practice your English

I mean: you need to focus on Input

Read and listen to interesting and informative content

not textbooks

Read and Listen to interesting and informative content

and do it daily

It is how you practice your English

Write, start a blog or a diary

If you can't write it, you can't say it

If you can write it, you can say it

Writing is a great practice

And of course speak, speak when you get a chance

speaking is important

we are social animals we want to talk

we need to talk with other human beings

Speaking is important, but don't force it

don't think that your lack of speaking is the main reason your English sucks,

no it is not, far from it

The amount of time and money people waste because they think

they need more speaking practice is truly staggering

Make sure you have things to say before you pay for speaking practice

We don't learn by speaking, we learn by reading and listening

There is a reason why we have 2 eyes, 2 ears but only 1 mouth

This video is for reasonable people,

which unfortunately accounts for a very small percentage of people on YouTube

It is very frustrating

sad

depressing

Everything I say draws on a wealth of experience

as both a learner and teacher of English

Hundreds of students Thousands of lessons

Unrivaled experience

I wanna end on a positive note

The fight is for the 1%

Everything you need to know about how to learn English

is in my book Virtually Native

which is available on Amazon and virtuallynative.com

♿️MOTIVATIONAL WHEELCHAIR MORNING ROUTINE | How I clean, Tidy, and Organise - Duration: 18:12.

good morning everybody and welcome back to my channel wheelsnoheels today is

very very grey but the sun is shining when you're all here that is cheesy as!!

Today I am filming a vloggie style video and I'm going to be showing you my

wheelchair morning routine so it is now about 9 o'clock

Its just gone 9 o'clock actually and I'm gonna start it here because normally

during the week I wake up at 7:15 and the morning goes a bit like this from,

7:15 until 9:00 it goes like this (high voice) daisy, daisy

Daisy get ready fr school. daisy, we are going to be late, daisy brush your teeth,

daisy brush your hair, Come on man we are going to be late.

so yeah I didn't really want to be Vlogging while I'm getting daisy bell'

ready for school but I will organize her lunch and her water bottle get her

clothes ready make sure she's dressed and brushed her

teeth and ready to go and it can be a bit of a rush and a bit of a challenge

and a bit of a task, during that time as well I also sort of straighten out and

tidy up the bedrooms I make the beds and I sort of straighten out downstairs as

well then I usually get home at about 9 o'clock I go straight to my laptop I

turn on my laptop and I put my favourite youtubers on and then during this time I

listen to them while I clean the kitchen

yeah between like nine and ten is my golden hour to get like um household

chores done and that kind of stuff and I watch my youtubers that I like, I like

to watch more sort of inspirational talks motivational talks and sort of

like business development and that kind of stuff on YouTube, now to try and fill my

brain with like positivity and I'm all about trying to be as positive as

possible and never talking in lack, so I would never say I didn't have enough

money I didn't have enough this, I don't have that and oh I wish I could do

this and they wish I could do that. I always try and put it in a positive spin

like "I'm lucky that I have money to provide food for my family" not "oh my god

I don't want to do the grocery shopping." it's all about trying to trick your

brain into my positivity as much as possible

oh hello didn't see you there, now for my favorite part of the morning

self-care and I feel really tired and poo this morning, okay let's give the old barnet

a brush.

I think these kind of things always make you feel a bit better when you've done a

bit of self care and self-love and sort of made yourself feel better

this is my daytime skin routine that I do most day, so the fist thing that

I use is a little bit of a glycolic acid pixie skin treats and it's got my name

on it!! yeah this one is a five percent which is like the middle of the range

then you can get like seven percent and higher ones as well I find the five

percent is fine it can be quite drying depending on your skin type.

Its got rose water in it and smells gorgeous it does feel really nice and refreshing

on the skin and I like to concentrate on the T zone because that's where it kind

of gets all like dim and a bit grim (so nice) now I sort of like wait for it to dry a

bit then I put on a day cream, now sometimes I use this one by the Body

Shop which is really really lovely( I really didn't want to be one of those

people but that's why they do it) the aloe vera and it's got 15 SPF 15 which

is not really enough, you should have thirty at least there's not much left there we

go proof that I do use it and do really like it. Did I say that it's quite

oily so if you've got oily skin I would not recommend this one but my skin is

sort of normal, normal to dry so I really like it because it does sort of stay on

the skin it's not very good to put makeup over the top of. A dry shampoo

which is a god send for us spoonie's if you can't be... I say can't be bothered...

if you're unable to wash your hair which sometimes we don't always have the

opportunity. There we go and today is one of those days! Done um but yeah I'm going

to try and tidy up my room a little bit mm-hmm cuz it looks all nice and tidy when I'm

like here, but it's really not. let's tidy now I don't know about you

but I actually do a lot of tidying up from the floor, I find it a lot easier

rather than having to keep bending down and pick things up that puts strain and

pressure on my back so what I do is my chair to floor transfer and then I'm

going to sort through that pile of clothing there. so here we go.... cue montage

so what I'm doing is I'm sorting them out into little piles they these are my

jeans that I am going to hang up and then... what we got here? here t-shirts

I'm putting them back into you like the t-shirt pile the jeans pile oh yeah this

should have gone in the wash I am such a messy eater

it's so embarrassing anyone else the messy eater ?I find like the

coordination and stuff bit tricky sometimes!! bikini I'm not sure gonna be

needing that so much!!! a homemade banana random! I love this t-shirt from my best

friend's boutique darling and gold .com she's got some amazing things in there

really really nice stuff just founds a few barbie things. I was playing with the

Barbies earlier. Oh now I sorted them into the piles then now we need to hang

them up

here we are I know that pile doesn't look like it's sorted but it.

I like to use all of the same kind of hangers and I like all wooden

hangers they're not the best because they do take up a lot of space but I do

have a bit of a capsule wardrobe I don't have that many clothes so it

doesn't matter so I'm just gonna hang these up ready to go back into the

wardrobe

just before ten o'clock my golden hour I like to get in a little bit of exercise

so whether that's Pilates doing a bit of weight exercises or doing some wheelchair

yoga or mindfulness or something like that. That is what I'm gonna do today I'm

feeling weighty but yeah I've got a whole video about my para..... my

paraplegic workout routines so go and check that out if you want to

know a bit more about it in detail....

If you put this behind you like that and then I roll back on it back, back on the wheels and

then you can roll back onto the band and then lock your brakes then you can do

sort of different weights. your arms up like that

sweat now my golden hour is nearly up so it's ten o'clock and this is the time

being a creature of habits that I have my breakfast which will usually be toast

or crumpet

all right so breakfast is over the golden hour is over and it's time to

start work so I do find that when you are working from home it's really good

to sort of have a routine and a schedule otherwise you can get a bit sidetracked

and waylaid so yeah now what I'm gonna do is I have emails to check through and

I also have comments from you guys to go through as well. I really loved that

people will leave comments and we can go through and we can chat and I can get to

know some of you as well and help you because that's what my channel is all

about I love to be able to help people through something rather tragic that

happened to me help you and offer you advice or anything like that, that you

may need or support. So I'm gonna go through the comments. Now yesterday my

autumn wheelchair outfit guide went live so I'm going to go though the comments

now which have all been very complimentary, they thank you for that,

hi guys so I have just finished doing all my emails and comments and catching

up on things like that, now about half-past eleven so I don't have

anything to edit so I am going to get ready and start filming. We're gonna film

today I'm going to be filming my pet peeves of my wheelchair hopefully that

will just feel light hearted fun video I really want to put some fun back into

some of my videos I think I've got some good sort of informal video informative

videos that kind of need a serious side to them and then I've also got some more

funny light-hearted videos as well so I really wanted to do some of those. I'm

going to do my pet peeves and I think I'm also going to do how to get over a

life-changing injury. feeling a bit like tired and I'm getting

a bit tired in there so I don't know it's like I'm gonna like go full on with

my makeup today I'm just gonna do some of my like my light everyday makeup I

kind of just want a bit of something so I don't look like the Grim Reaper and

frighten children when I can pick up my daughter from school. so I like to use a

really nice heavy concealer under my eyes because um so I like to use a

really high coverage one my sister is also loved so good under eye concealer

she is loving Bo-ing by benefit at the moment and she says she really highly

recommends it cuz it doesn't go into your creases, this one I put it in there

as well cuz I get really like sallo in there um that one I'm using is it

Chanel one i know chanel is probably not for everybody

but I don't buy it that often and I find it really really does the job sometimes

in life do you get what you pay for and I've been happy with this one

eyebrows. Ka- brow by benefit this is really old and crusty

my sister picked this up from boots and it's mabeline the colossal volume

Express waterproof mascara which actually has quite a big wand and but I'm

so impressed really really impressed with this one you do to get the full

effect you do have to put it on a lot of coats so I do find that in that respect

it is quite hard work whereas with my Mac one I would probably only have to do

about that much and it would be fine whereas I feel like I probably need to

go a bit longer with the strokes

really really built up the only problem that I'm finding is it's really hard to

get off in the evening because it's waterproof so if anybody knows any good

eye makeup remover for waterproof mascara I would love to know hey there

I think that looks a lot better than it was before but because I said that is

how I would do it for every day or I would leave off the brows and it sort of

just makes me feel a lot better but because I am filming I'm just gonna put

a little bit of face powder on this is the Studio Fix by Mac easier than having

to worry about blending foundations and wetting Beauty blenders and and I also

hate the feel of foundation on my face I think it just gives a very very subtle

coverage and it just makes me feel a lot better and I've moved over to the new

autumn shades and this is matte mhur by Mac and I I really really love this

shade I actually I'm hoping to get into town cuz I do you fancy getting more of

a red shade

what do you think yeah that bet huh hey that is it for my

morning wheelchair routine I hope that it was sort of entertaining for you or

you found it useful if you've got any tips make sure you leave them down below

you've got any questions or any videos you want me to film in the future then

let me know but I am now going to get on and film some more videos for you guys

make sure to subscribe if you haven't already and to hit that Bell

notification if you have subscribed because sadly I think some of you are

missing some of my videos which is just a tragedy so I look forward to seeing

you in my next video thank you so much for watching and I'll see you soon

WHAT I'M TAKING HOME - Duration: 11:33.

that's how the world it's your girl jelly and today I'm getting the boarded

wait deported from Israel they just don't

want me here anymore so I guess I have to go back to the America get some work

figure it out over here so then I can come back and live Legally over here

so this is our suitcase I'm gonna be traveling it today it's just our og oh

hey guys I am gonna miss this view the most like I might miss it more than

Elijah Brian just kidding hello I love eyes so if you're watching this I'm

sorry baby I love you just came out it's kind of crunchy but this view is

literally unreal look at it like the right sees right there

okay hopefully this video is not like that cringey she's like hopefully this

video is not that country because

and I feel like I might Kanta that makes me cringe sometimes okay so Eliza and I

have decided that I'm gonna take just like the bare minimum like stuff that we

don't need um so it makes going home a lot easier on us so he won the MVP

trophy of the tournament his first tournament here and a lot and I'm gonna

take home the trophy because I really want this safe and I definitely don't

want to leave it behind so I'm gonna take this for sure I'm just so proud of

it because this is so cool like and the cool thing about it is that it has like

a number three on it I don't know if you guys can see that so the guy has a

number three like this is totally him the only thing that they're missing out

is on the hair they picked the wrong hair for the guy but now everything else

matches so so another thing that we're taking are his church shoes just because

they take up a lot of space and when we do live three hours away they said it's

a little bit more casual and we decided that we rather spend something at Zara

which is like a lot less expensive that we can leave here when we're done with

our trip when we're done living here versus leaving these expensive shoes so

I'm gonna take those back so our families are also coming to visit us so

it's like they can take some stuff home to when they come to this s but I know

this is like a free opportunity I'm going home so I might as well take as

much stuff that we're not gonna need home so I can bring someone stuff home

like I'm gonna buy a comforter and bring it hopefully they'll let me go through

but uh so we just need to get rid of some stuff that we don't need like I

have a ton of shoes but my like all those are my shoes

but I was thinking like when we're done living here I could just throw those all

way so it's not like cuz they're not like all that expensive some like yes

some of them I'll be keeping that some of them I just

Chuck but okay so another thing that we got that didn't work out where our

converters and these are still asleep one of the main things that we needed

and they don't work um I think it's just like though this is to spur Europe it's

not for the Middle East I don't know but these network out and it feels like my

blow dryer is gonna catch on fire every time I turn it on and the lion is rapid

reboot is gonna like blow up because we're not using converters so I'm gonna

definitely go and return them we bought the video bomb and they're really pretty

expensive they're like we total we've got the other things but total looks

like $100 so we're definitely gonna return these because that's definitely

always money and we need them for sure to like you know blow-dry my hair and do

this rapid breezes so if I burn off all my hair that means that we didn't get

the converters and if Elijah's like slow up yeah we just think it to cover okay

so I has about to travel to Tel Aviv on Saturday and I'm gonna be gone and

usually like help him pack just like you know go through his bag with him or like

help him make a list just so you don't forget and he does the same thing for me

because I feel like when you're under stress and you're about to go on a

travel like on an airplane I feel like you just get like airplane brain and you

just forget everything so I'm gonna help him pack that really quick just so he

doesn't like forget a toothbrush when he's out on the road

would just be horrible okay so here are some of the little basic side attacked

in his bag so I packed a toothbrush really had a big pimple I packed a ton

of emergencies so he doesn't get sick I packed some Jake will because I feel

like on a fight there's always like a 50% chance that you can't get sick and

they can't so there's some dub deodorant and then the rest he can pack so we only

have big toothpicks so I think that won't work because he's gonna just bring

it as a carry-on just to go get a small shoes for toothpaste and then is like

clone and stuff stuff trophy in there that I showed you guys and I just

wrapped it up in all and this is the mini suitcase and we put this mini

Suki's inside this big suitcase because this is under 50 pounds and it's pretty

much empty so you don't have to carry two suitcases and put this in the

overhead because you guys that is one of the things I hate to do is put a

suitcase up and overhead karma it's seriously so embarrassing especially

when it's super heavy and big and bulky I just struggle so I'm gonna put it's

gonna be like Inception it's gonna be like a mini suitcase inside bags again

so a lot of you guys might be asking why I'm bringing the mini suitcase it's

because when I come back I'll have an extra suitcase that's like this is the

Last Supper with jelly bells fortune heads back

to the u.s. survey sour OG ax for helping me chase these dreams you know

they've been with me since my pre-draft work does it's everything so shout to

them to help me get these pennies as I travel this world let's go updated our

phones and we want to try the new measuring thing out I'm going to see if

it measures me house Holly him so I'm usually on six four six five with the

hair give or take so let's see if it's right let's see the app Joe okay okay so

you're gonna add your point all the way down let's say your ad

we're five-nine five-ten come on that's crazy so obviously this thing's not

super accurate it's really hard to do it like it really likes to do it on like

services like these so I tried on this like watch I'll measure this cup right

here I take this I click yeah what's to say there to be asked how where

sometimes I move it to there and it says eight and a half inches or what I don't

know so it does really well when you have

like on flat surface it's not like that but what about water do you measure up

to your own hey guys I'm all packed up and here's not a book bag that I have

all packed up so I didn't show everything you guys got off show you

guys a video of what I bring back into Israel so goodbye so that's the place

hey mom's gone so a party a house full set for the boys so yes of course we

love our Oh Geo bags but the wage in packs

nothing's fitting in the car I mean if the rig 9800 would even fit in the

backseat I mean they fit in the backseat but it wouldn't fit in the trunk and

last night how many bags do we have at first I don't know how we did

but you guys like just to give you a comparison of how big the Oh Geo bags

are they're the size of our car they're huge but they're super lightweight and

they're so convenient they feel like so much of your stuff

Oh

well Jen is gone

I'm aha nobody obviously I'm sad it's like it's not that I'm sad cuz like I

can't survive without it's just like she's my best friend you know like and

I'm not I'm not an emotional guy so it's just like I don't know we do everything

together so it's just like I'm looking at my best friend and come up with along

with that she makes my life ten times she makes me the basketball player that

I am I mean when I come home I don't have to worry about my clothes being

washed or my fried food being ready it's like things that I take for granted and

it's just I want to tell her I'm super grateful for her and if you have a wife

in and or a girlfriend that does a lot for you this just tell them thank you

like so that's the least you can do but hopefully the safe flight and obviously

I love are all mister and if you guys want to see why she had to

leave just cuz up here if you're new to our channel we're posting every single

day for a month so go and hit the bail notification get notified when we do

post again love you guys and we'll see you next time

Hanz De Fuko Hairspray vs. Wella Silvikrin Classic | Brand Battle - Duration: 7:26.

Hanz De Fuko Style Lock Hairspray versus Wella Silvikrin Classic Maximum Hold Hairspray.

This is Brand Battle.

Hi guys, how are you?

I'm Robin.

Welcome back to my YouTube channel and welcome back to Brand Battle, the series that two

competing products head to head in the ultimate showdown.

Now, this is the battle of the hairsprays because we've talked a lot about hair products,

but I wanted to think about that finishing process.

Which hairspray is going to hold it all day?

Now, in this one we have 22 points up for grabs; not 20, but 22.

Now, as we know, not all categories are equal so the points work like this.

Now, the products I have are Hanz De Fuko Style Lock Hairspray.

This product they say has been three years in the making.

They say it has an extreme hold; the fine mist goes on dry and locks in any hairstyle

imaginable.

It's the ultimate "stay-put" spray.

Now, this one is a premium product.

It's roughly about $23or £24 versus this budget product which is Wella Silvikrin Classic

Maximum Hold.

You guys know I've spoken about this one a lot.

This says it gives reliable, long-lasting, maximum hold and keeps your style flexible.

So it's going to be interesting to see, is it worth paying slightly more for something

which might give a stronger hold?

Now, into ingredients; looking into Hanz De Fuko's, you do have alcohol on the top there.

You then have various other compounds and things that are just like, what is that?

They do have a few things in here which say "certified organic by organic certifiers".

I'm a bit like, a hairspray, what's organic about hairspray versus the Wella Silvikrin

Classic one which sounds like we expect; alcohol again on the top, you have butane, propane,

isobutane, loads of various things.

So really, I mean ingredients, you're not going to get the best from a hairspray anyway,

but just because it's got a few certified...I might be dragged into this, this sort of marketing

thing.

I'm going to give the points for ingredients to Hanz De Fuko.

Now into packaging, the Hanz De Fuko one is in this spray paint can also with this sort

of spray paint style Hanz De Fuko on the side.

I kind of like this.

It feels really young.

It's different from any other hairspray; it's also chunkier versus the Wella Silvikrin Classic

one which doesn't blow my mind but it's just...It's just a green tub with some pink on it.

So the point for packaging is going to go to Hanz De Fuko.

Now, into smell; we should not be smelling hairsprays guys because they are solvent but

when you have them in your hair they do have some smells.

The Wella Silvikrin Classic one has a slight sort of floral scent but it still smells like

solvent versus the Hanz De Fuko one which smells more like a solvent.

So the point for smell of a hairspray goes to Wella Silvikrin Classic.

Now, we're moving into application here.

I've made sure that I've used the same pre-styler, the same styling product, before using these.

The Hanz De Fuko nozzle and application is so direct.

You can really feel the power from this, it certainly shoots out.

One issue with that is sometimes you feel like you might saturate just what...sometimes

I have done it...but you will saturate one area too much.

You really have to move it quite quickly versus the Wella product which gives us a lighter

mist and is better for all over coverage.

So the points for application go to Wella Silvikrin Classic.

Now, in terms of drying, the Hanz De Fuko one says that it goes on dry and it really

does.

As soon as you've used it, it dries, versus the Wella Silvikrin one which does dry really

quickly.

I've never had any trouble with it.

But because it dries so quickly the points go to Hanz De Fuko.

Now into finish; with hairspray guys, it's not a styling product - well I do use it as

a styling product - I wanted to look natural.

I want a styling product or the pre-stylers has done its work and I just want this to

lock into place.

With the Hanz De Fuko one, sometimes I find while using it you get a slight residue in

the hair.

You can see that you've used a hairspray versus the Wella Silvikrin Classic one which you

can't see, like it looks really natural in the hair.

So the points for finish go to Wella Silvikrin.

Now, hold, this is the big one.

This is where most of the points go in this because these are maximum hold hairsprays.

We want it to lock, we want it to freeze, we don't want it to move.

Here's what happened.

This hold is insane.

I have noticed this, every time I've used it, it literally is just solid.

It has the tiniest bit of movement, like the tiniest bit.

Hair definitely dropped and yeah, I mean it can be pushed back in but that is droppage,

isn't it?

Really very easy in this one, it felt stable, it felt firm, it felt like it could keep on

going all night.

The points go to Hanz De Fuko.

Now, both products washed out no bother, but the Hanz De Fuko one did just leave slightly

more residue in the hair.

So the points go to Wella Silvikrin.

Now, price; this is where we go like this.

They are polar opposites.

The Hanz De Fuko one is expensive.

This is about £24.

I've found it in various places linked below or at $23 in the US.

This is so expensive versus the Wella Silvikrin Classic one which comes in various different

sizes and this is cheap.

I actually get them in Lidl for about £3 or £4.

You also get Superdrug, Boots, wherever, online, Amazon and they're not expensive.

They're always on offer.

The points for price and value very, very easily go to Wella Silvikrin Classic.

So, there we go.

We have a verdict.

With 10 points, we have Wella Silvikrin Classic versus 12 points for Hanz De Fuko.

And I have to say, the hold of this is epic, but do you have $23.50 or £24 to spend on

this because I don't.

A hairspray at $23, I just find it like so ridiculous.

Where is that money?

Like, actual three, four, five pounds does the trick; never had any trouble.

I'm not going to be buying this.

I just think that is ridiculous for a hairspray.

I resent this.

I wouldn't buy it.

If you've got more money than sense, go for this one; the hold is epic, but if you're

like me and just want to rely on having a good pre-styler and a good styling product,

use this one.

There you go.

The points don't always equal exactly what I think but that's the way it goes.

Thank you very much for watching; I really hope you've enjoyed this one.

We're going to have a couple more Brand Battles and then that will be it for this season,

then we might take it back at some other point.

If you're new to my channel and you've not yet pressed subscribe then please do.

Press subscribe right now; the button is there.

The Seven-Year Cycles of Child Development - Duration: 9:11.

Hello and welcome to another Sunday with Sarah. I'm Sarah Baldwin and I'm here

today to talk to you about some of the philosophy behind Waldorf education and

the seven-year cycles in human development that the founder of Waldorf

education, Rudolf Steiner, talked about. Now, when I first heard these ideas 25

years ago when I began my Waldorf teacher training, the ideas seemed

different to me but now they make so much sense after all my years watching

so many children grow and having taught so many classes. So, I hope to describe it in

a way to you that makes it simple and easy to understand. So if you think about

a child's first seven years of life, so much goes on during that period. So a

baby comes into the world, they are kind of at one with their mother, and at one

with the world. And their physical bodies are still developing. It begins in the womb

but after birth the child's inner organs are are still forming. Their bones are

growing and getting stronger. The end of this period is usually marked by the

change of teeth and the child losing their baby teeth and the adult teeth

coming in. And in Waldorf education this is the period of time, these first seven

years, that's approached with goodness. We talk

about goodness, beauty and truth. And so these first seven years we are trying to

teach the child that the world is a good, safe and loving place and

that's the kind of environment we want to create for them in a preschool or

kindergarten and that I would encourage you to try to create at home, feeling

like they came into a kind and loving world. This is one reason we use fairy

tales in these early years, because

fairytales always have a lesson that good always overcomes evil which is

very satisfying for a young child. During this period, these first

seven years, a child really needs to be in movement. This is one reason we don't

teach academics in a traditional way during these first seven years

because a child is learning through moving his body, through jumping and

skipping and swinging and climbing rocks and also through fine motor skills so we

teach them how to sew and they draw and we actually know now that a child's

brain is developing through large motor movement and through

small motor movement. By the end of this seven-year period, a lot of the

physical body is now formed. The child is ready to separate more from the mother

and become more of an individual and modern research has confirmed that this

is an age, you know six going on seven, that a child now is ready to sit at a

desk for a longer period of time and focus. So in Waldorf education this is

when the academic work of learning the alphabet and learning math ideally would

begin. Trying to force it, I've talked about this in other videos, trying to

force that earlier can sometimes be really detrimental to a child when the

different areas (physical, emotional, cognitive) haven't all caught up. By the

age of seven, they're entering a new phase of life where those areas are

caught up and this is the age to begin academic learning. And this is the age of

beauty. This is the age when a child's imaginative life really comes to life.

They're living in a world of imagination and we want to feed that. And their

feelings: it's a period of life where their feelings really

come into play and we want to feed those those feelings by surrounding them with

beauty. So in Waldorf education we give them

beautiful art materials, real art materials, really good quality watercolor

paints and beeswax crayons and good paper and teach them handwork.

They learn to knit with real wool yarn and natural materials and this all

feeds that child's yearning for beauty. And so this phase of human

development lasts from 7 to 14. During that period, there's what we talk

about is the nine-year change and this is a period where a young child is at

one with the world and thinks that the world is, you know, a good place and

it's when they tend to become aware that there's also evil in the world and it's

when they start to individuate some from the parent. A lot of children at this age

think they can't possibly be related to their parents, they must be adopted. It's

an awakening, it's kind of like a mini adolescence. So that's something to be

aware of if your child is approaching or in their ninth year, like 8 turning 9.

And then another major shift happens at the age of 14. So the next period is 14

to 21 and this is the age of truth. We talked about goodness, beauty and truth.

Starting at the age of 14, this is when the growing child or young adult

starts to really question what is true. This is when they begin to start

questioning authority. It's quite natural. These are the high school years.

And so we want to, in Waldorf education we start having them read books and

stories about searches for truth and justice and it's a

very idealistic age so we want to engage children in that. And this phase of

life ends not just at the end of high school but at the age of 21, which now

modern research shows is when the brain is really, usually finally developed. The

brain is still developing through all those years and even if a if a person is

legally an adult at 18 we know that their brain is not fully formed at 21

and Rudolf Steiner said that this is when the kind of individual, the ego he

calls it, the person who that child grows up to be really begins to emerge.

So that's another nutshell but also it's important to know these seven year

cycles don't end it 21. They go on throughout our life. There's a period

from 21 to 28 and if you look at those seven year cycles you often find in

an adult's life that those can be pivotal years, years of personal change and

growth in a person's life. So I hope that makes some kind of sense to you or gives

you some insight into the philosophy behind Waldorf education. I know for me I

just find it very deep and remarkable the way that Waldorf education meets a

child where he or she is at by honoring that development. So again, if you are

enjoying these videos be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel called

Sunday with Sarah and if you have questions for me, I'd love to answer them.

Leave a comment below or you can write to me at sundaywithsarah@bellalunatoys.com

and I'll do my best to answer your question in a future video. So have

a great week and I will see you next time. Bye.

How To Go From A Basic To An Advanced Response In English - Duration: 17:23.

Tell me about yourself.

Well the basic response to this is

I am American and I am very friendly.

However, the advanced English response is a lot longer.

So, how did I do this?

I used this formula: F+P+E

And today, I will teach you how to just like I did.

Welcome to Speak English With Tiffani.

I am teacher Tiffani, let's jump right in.

Alright, the basic English response.

This response focuses on giving the most general

piece of information in response to a question

or when speaking about a topic.

Now, the formula we use for the basic

English response is just F.

That's right, just F.

And it stands for fact.

What you do is, you give the fact that answers the question

or expresses what you think about the topic.

Now, there are two purposes for this.

The first purpose is that by stating the fact,

you show that you understood the question.

And the second purpose is by stating the fact,

you show that you have knowledge

or an opinion about the topic or question.

So let's look at this in real life.

Let's say for example someone says to you,

"Tell me about yourself."

Well, you can say, "I am American and I am very friendly."

Remember, this is the fact.

I am American and I am very friendly.

Alright maybe they ask you, "How was your weekend?"

Well I could say, "It was good."

Why, because this is a fact.

Or let's say they ask you, "How was the movie yesterday?"

Well you could say, " It was funny."

That is a fact.

It was funny.

And let's say for example, they say,

"Do you prefer juice or soda?"

You may say, "I prefer juice."

Giving the fact, the general information.

Or let's say they say to you, "What's your future plan?"

You may say, "My future plan is to travel abroad."

Again you've given the fact,

the general piece of information.

Which is what makes these answers

or responses basic English responses.

However, the advanced English response is different.

You see, this response focuses on giving the general

piece of information plus the extra information

needed to support your response.

Now, here's what the formula looks like: F+P+E

Now, remember, before for the basic English response,

we did have the F right here, okay?

So we already know the F which stands for fact.

However if we move on to the P which stands for proof,

this is what we see.

You see, you give the proof that the fact

you gave is true or a good response.

Now, lets look at the two purposes.

The first one says by stating the proof,

you show that you can support your statement.

And number two, by stating the proof

you show that you understand the five W's.

Now, very quickly, remember if you need to refresh

your memory on the five W's, you can click the link

in the top right of the screen.

But remember, the five W's are just

who, what, when, where, and why.

And by giving the proof, you show that you

understand the five W's alright?

And finally the E.

The E stands for example.

You see, you give the example that

is connected to the proof that you gave.

So the two purposes are:

By stating the example you show that you can

connect your thoughts to real situations.

And purpose number two, by stating the example

you show that you can think logically in English.

Which is important to advanced English responses.

Okay, now let's go and look back at the examples

again that we looked at for the basic English response.

Now, it says "Tell me about yourself."

Well remember we know that the first part is the F the fact.

So, what's the fact?

"I am American and I am very friendly," okay.

Alright that's a fact that we had in our

basic English response but, now the next thing

we need to do is look at the proofs.

Now, for this one, we have two.

We have one that says, "I am American," which is the fact

and we also had, "I am very friendly."

So, we're going to look at those separately, alright.

So again for the proof so we have two

that we're gonna try to prove.

Alright, so let's go on.

"I was born in Arizona," right here,

"which is on the West coast.

"But I moved to Maryland, which is on the East coast,

"and I still live there now."

Alright, these things are all connected

to this fact right here, I'm giving proof.

Now, let's keep going because

we still have to look at the very friendly, right here.

Alright.

"Growing up, I had lots of friends,

"I had lots of friends,

"because I enjoyed spending time with people.

"I still enjoy hanging out with my friends

"and meeting new people.

Alright, I'm getting proofs that support

the fact that I'm very friendly.

Now, we have to move on now, to the what?

You got it.

To the example.

Alright so here we go.

Actually, my friends and I went on a road trip last year

and we stayed with a family that we didn't know

and I'm still in contact with them to this day.

Alright so what happened?

Yes, we have the example taken care of

but I wanna explain something to you really quickly.

Right here you see this term "road trip."

Now, I want to tell you what that means.

In English, a road trip is literally used to mean

a journey taken by car or bus.

Okay, so make a journey by car or bus.

In English, we say road trip.

Again, road trip.

So what happened, we've taken care of the entire formula.

The F for fact, the P for proof, and we had two proofs,

and again the E for example.

So, we have an advanced response.

Now let's look at it again

in comparison to the basic response.

Alright, so again when we had the basic

it was just the fact and what happened?

We said, "I am American and I am very friendly."

Well this is still a part of our advanced response.

It's right here and it answers the fact.

But now we have extra, again the proof.

We have it all right here.

This is the proof we have right in this section right here.

And we have the example in this section right here.

So now you can see the differences

and also the similarities, okay,

from the basic to the advanced.

Alright now, next, it was "How was your weekend?"

So, let's get started again.

We're gonna start with the fact.

So, we're gonna use blue for F this time just change it up.

Alright, the fact, "It was good."

Well, that was the fact "It was good."

Now, let's keep going to give proofs

that show it was good.

It says, "I spent Saturday resting at home,"

Resting is good.

"because I didn't want to work.

"then on Sunday my family and I

"spent the day at an amusement park together."

Okay, now I do want to explain what the amusement park is.

In English we say amusement park.

Now, an amusement park, let's write it right up here, okay.

An amusement park is just a large outdoor area

that has lots of rides and amusements, okay.

So a large outdoor park

but the key is

there are rides

that people can go on, there's also shows,

and sometimes there's food.

So, different things like that

and we say it's an amusement park, okay.

So again, amusement park.

Now, this is the proof that we needed

that said it was a good weekend.

Now let's keep going.

The next thing is we need to give an example, okay.

We said, "But, the best part of my weekend

"was when my favorite uncle surprised us

"and came to visit us on Sunday night."

Alright so, "the best part of my weekend"

and then I say, "when my favorite uncle surprised

us and came to visit us on Sunday."

But, I keep going and I say,

"We spent hours talking, laughing,

and eating delicious food."

So what happened?

Yes, I told you "It was good," I gave you a fact.

Then I gave you proofs, what I did on Sunday

and even on Saturday.

But then I gave you an exact example of why it was good.

Alright so again if we compare this advanced response

to the basic response, again the basic response was,

"It was good."

That was a fact.

But then what happened is, for our advanced response,

we brought that down into our advanced response

and made it the foundation of our response

and then we continued by giving proofs

for why our weekend was good, right here.

And then we ended by giving the example right here.

An exact example from our weekend, okay.

This is our advanced response.

Now, the next one was, "How was the movie yesterday?"

And for this one, this is how we answered it, okay.

"It was funny."

Now again this is the fact, "It was funny."

But now, we need to prove, we need to give proofs

that show why it was funny.

Alright, here we go.

"The movie theater was packed when we went,

"so my friends and I had to sit in the back."

Now, this is what we're doing,

we're giving the background information.

But I want to explain this term "packed" right here.

Packed.

So, in English, this term "packed" just means

to be very full of people, okay.

To be very full of people.

It means there were a lot of people

there watching the movie, we say "packed."

Alright now, let's keep going.

"Then we said I could see people smiling

"even before the movie started.

"Everyone in the theater laughed hysterically

"throughout the entire movie."

Now we're giving proofs.

Now before I continue,

I want to explain the term "hysterically."

Now in English we use this often

but the term "hysterically" just means,

with wildly uncontrolled emotion, okay.

With wildly

uncontrolled

emotion.

Laughing hysterically.

Uncontrolled emotion, alright.

So, again we've given the proof

but now we need to go to giving our example.

Alright, so let's continue.

We say, "My favorite scene was

"when the two main characters tried to escape their teacher

"but they got caught by their mothers.

"It was hilarious."

So, I've given the example.

Now again, let's look at the comparison

between our basic response and now the advanced response.

So again, the basic response was "It was funny," the fact.

But now, this becomes the foundation for our

advanced English response, the fact.

And again, we gave our proofs, the movie,

starting right there and then we continued all the way

down here for our proofs when we talked about the

other people at the theater.

And we got more detailed with the example

when we said what the favorite scene was from the movie.

Alright that gave us the advanced response.

Okay now, let's look at the next one.

"Do you prefer juice or soda?"

Now, again we're going to start with the fact.

The fact is, "I prefer juice."

Okay, that's the fact.

Now, we're going to look at the proofs of that fact.

So, I say, "Growing up my mom didn't let us drink soda,

"so I don't really crave it."

Now, let's pause really quickly

I want to explain this term "crave."

Now the term "crave" just means to have a strong desire for.

To feel a powerful

to feel a powerful

desire

for something.

For example, children usually desire

or crave candy or ice cream.

They crave these things, alright.

So, let's continue.

"Plus, I really love fruit.

"I usually eat at least two to

"three apples on a daily basis.

"So, when I have to choose between juice or soda,

"I automatically choose fruit juice."

Alright so we've answered the proof.

Now we're gonna give an example.

Okay, here we go.

"Yesterday, my mom and I went to the store to pick up

"a new organic orange juice that we heard about on tv.

"it was pretty delicious."

So I've given the example.

So again, if I'm comparing my basic response

to the advanced response I just gave,

we can notice again, "I prefer juice," was the fact.

And it becomes the foundation for my advanced response.

Then when I'm giving my proofs,

Let's put the check mark here first,

when I'm giving my proofs, it's this portion right here.

And the next thing again we do,

we need to give the example, which starts right here

and becomes this section right here.

Remember you can choose how many sentences

you do for each part of the equation,

it's up to you, alright.

Alright now the next one was,

"What's your future plan?"

Alright so we're gonna start again with the fact.

The fact is, "My future plan is to travel abroad."

Now, all we need to do is give the proofs.

So, let's continue.

"I have always wanted to do a trip around the world.

"I think that experiencing other cultures

"is one of the most important things

"anyone can do in their lifetime.

"So, I really want to travel more."

Alright, so I've given the proof that

yes, I want to travel abroad but,

now I need to move into the example.

So now I'm saying, "Next year I am planning to do a trip

"around Europe with my best friend.

"We are planning to visit all of the European

"countries over a 2 month period.

It will be the first of many trips."

So I'm giving a specific example

because I want to go to Europe.

So again let's look at this in

comparison to the basic English response.

So, my basic response was,

"My future plan is to travel abroad."

That's a fact and it becomes the foundation

of my advanced English response.

And now after we check that we move on to the proofs

which is this section right here.

Okay, remember again I stated before it's up to you

how many sentences you want to use for each.

And for my example I talked about next year my plan

with my best friend to go to European countries.

Alright, so, that's the comparison between the basic

and the advanced English response.

5 SLOW Cars That Fool People Into Thinking They Are Fast - Duration: 8:00.

On my last video I noticed quite of few you wanted me to create a video on slow cars that

look fast.

And guess what I did?

I listened and now I'm delivering.

But I feel like I have to say something before I began the list.

Because if I don't I can already see the comment section with a bunch of angry viewers typing

away.

The only thing i factored in was straight line performance and nothing else.

That said, let's begin

Firstly car is the Subaru BRZ.

This is probably the car I'm gonna get the most hate for including so I decided to put

it first on the list and get it over with.

If you look up this car in online forums there are endless debates and discussion about the

amount power the BRZ outputs.

Some saying it's slow, others saying it's fine, some saying it shouldn't be about it's

power but more about how much fun you have while driving it.

Here is my take on it.

It's slow *triggered BRZ owners*.

It carries a 2L 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine that produces 200HP and 151lb-ft , New

ones having both HP and Torque numbers increased by 5.

The BRZ completes a 0-60 run in 6.2 seconds.

Definitely not the slowest but if you had to judge it's straight line speed by its sporty

appearance you'd think it's much faster than that.

You know the opposite of a sleeper ouch.

But time to give it some credit, I've drove one of these before and I gotta admit they

are fun to drive especially swinging around corners which honestly it's the BRZ's specialty.

It can be the ultimate toy for the track.

It's great on corners, it's electric steering offers great responsiveness, to put it simple

this car will do anything you ask it to do on a twistie trdack.

Some even say that the handling feels like those of a Porsche.

This is a car focused primarily on fun factor when driving.

Sure it's not all that fast but honestly it doesn't have to be.

Just look at how widely successful the Mazda Miata is.

Not that fast, but fun to drive.

In fact the BRZ is pretty much a Miata with a coupe body.

Which one would you prefer?

A Subaru BRZ or Mazada Miata?

For around 26K you have choices.

If you want a fast car for straight line performance, get a mustang.

If you want to take a turn at 80MPH then the BRZ is your car.

Next car is the Delorean DMC-12.

This car doesn't need an introduction.

It appeared as Marty McFly's time machine in the back to the future films back in the

early 80s and early 90s.

It hurts me to mention this car in this video because it's such an iconic car today, but

it has to happen.

Strip away the the rocket boosters and the time travel abilities and you're left with

a car that painfully under performs.

It carries a 2.9L V6 engine that was designed for Renalt, Volvo and pueguet sedans.

It produces 130HP and 153 lb-ft of torque.

0-60 happens in 8.8 seconds while some say it'll take more than 10 seconds if equipped

with the automatic transmission.

It's top speed is apparently 130MPG, but get this you wouldn't be able to tell by looking

at it's speedometer that only went up to 85MPH.

Either way for a car that attracts more attention than any passing Ferrari, the Delorean is

a huge let down in the performance category.

by looking at it's outside appearance and it's gullwing doors you'd think it'd be

much faster.

I mean any car that has gullwing doors has to be fast right?

Wrong.

Looking back at history it was supposed to be lighter and more powerful than the production

version turned out to be.

Despite all the delays, it was still not ready when sales began.

Not only did the car underperform it also had a price of 25K which equals today to around

72K.

Which was more expensive than a Porsche 911.

So as you can imagine it didn't sell well, only around 9200 of them were made, and after

John Delorean got arrested for drugs the company went bankrupt.

3rd car is the Hyundai Veloster.

Well we can start with it's name.

Veloster, as in velocity right?

Maybe slow velocity but definitely not fast.

I mean it's gotten to the point where there reports from owners asking others if something

is wrong with their car because it's lack of performance.

I'll be honest I'm guilty of judging this car as being fast when first seeing it on

the road.

I mean it's exterior screams sportiness.

It's coupe like look, blacked out window pillars, it's designed resembles those of a motorcycle

helmet.

This is a car many were excited for when Hyundai first launched the Veloster.

But the reality is it lags behind pretty much every hot hatch competitor.

I mean it it has a hatch but when it comes to performance it really isn't that hot.

It carries 1.6L 4 cylinder engine that produces 138 Horsepower and 123lb-ft of torque.

It runs a 0-60 in around drum roll please 9 seconds.

And even if you opted it in for the turbo model it only runs a 0-60 in 7.3 seconds.

I get it what much more can you ask for a car has a MSRP of around 18K.

But that's besides the point.

It's quirky and sporty exterior makes you believe it runs much faster than that.

Especially the turbo model with it's red turbo badging though-out the car, the dual muffler

tips and a optional dual clutch transmission.

Well let's look at it's positive for a second, it looks stylish, you get a quirky 3 door

design, and you get great gas mileage.

29 city and 40hwy.

Back to the negatives.

It's slower than a Honda Odyssey minivan :)

4th slow car on the list is the Fisker Karma.

According to some sources the first ever electric plug in luxury sport sedan.

This is a car doesn't fail to attract tons of attention from spectators.

It looks absolutely stunning in my opinion.

It also looks like a very capable car when it comes to performance.

It has the looks of an exotic car, it carries 22 aluminum wheels, and has Brembo brakes

equipped.

Idk about you but most would probably guess this car can rip through the drag strip.

But sadly that's not the case.

When we think of electric cars we think about Tesla.

Super fast, instant torque, gasoline car killer.

Well the Karma is the total opposite when it comes to performance.

It does carry a 2L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine supplied from GM but unlike most Hybrid

vehicles the engine doesn't power the wheels at all.

It powers an 175KW generator that supplies energy to the batteries.

Sort of like the Chevy Volt.

You get two driving modes on the Karma.

Stealth mode that runs purely electric without the help of the generator and sports mode

which kicks in the generator to give the car boost in performance while charging the battery.

In stealth mode it can run a 0-60 in 8 seconds and when switched into sports mode it can

achieve a 0-60 in around 5.9 seconds.

Top speed is 96mph on stealth mode and 125mph for sports mode.

And yes I know the thumbnail was a bit click baity.

But technically I wasn't lying.

Honestly both modes are still slow especially for a car that retailed for over 100K.

And of course it's weight of 4500 lbs doesn't help.

Good news for those interested in owning a Karma.

You can find them now for around 40K, but beware reliability can be a concern.

The last slow car on the list is the mitsubishi Lancer GT.

The lancer is probably the most recognized Mitsubishi in the US.

While the lancer is not on par with the Evo, you would think it would at least share more

of the same gene pool.

If you're expecting that you'll be dissspointed.

Its not as sporty as the aggressive looks suggest.

Its a shame because it's one of the better looking sports sedans out there for it's price.

It's comes with a nice spoiler, 18 inch wheels, a sports tuned suspension, and a shark like

front end that is instantly recognizable among others on the road.

It carries a 2.4L 4 cylinder engine that produces 168HP and 167lb-ft of torque with an option

of a 5 speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.

It completes a 0-60mph run in 8.3 seconds and the quarter mile in 16.4 seconds.

To be fair the Mitsubishi Lancer GT only retails for around 20K new and it's key competitors

are the Mazda 3 touring and Kia forte Xs.

And just like the BRZ it's good on twisty roads vs striaght line acceleration.

The earlier models Lancer Ralliart and Evo is definitely better for car enthusiasts looking

for more speed.

But still they are nothing like the eighth generation lancer evos.

If you enjoyed the video make sure and hit that like button and if you haven't already

make don't forget to subscribe that way you don't miss my next video.

Let me know what you think, do you think any of these cars don't belong on this list?,and

if you think there is another slow car that looks fast make sure and comment below and

let me know what that is I have a feeling this comment section will get very spicy.

Anyways guys thanks for watching, till next time .

How to Buy a Used Car from a Dealer - Duration: 11:43.

buying a used car will always suck because you don't want to get ripped off

and you don't want to end up in a car that you totally regret buying now in

this video I'm going over the three key steps on how to buy a used car from a

dealer so that you can buy one knowing that you're getting the best value

possible if you just found this channel I'm Jason with honest finance and I make

a lot of videos on different financial topics so if you are interested feel

free and subscribing or at least give this video a like and now onto buying a

used car so if you're shopping for a used car there are definitely some

advantages over buying new to consider I mean think about the fact that most new

cars lose about 30 to 40 percent of their value in just the first five years

and when most of these cars are five years old they're probably only gonna

have about sixty thousand miles on them so that is a really good deal

considering it's 40 percent cheaper than it was when it was new think about it

like this would you rather buy a brand new crappy

little commuter car with roll-up windows for $15,000 or would you rather buy a

used car with 60,000 miles for the same price with every single feature on the

planet upgrades depreciate the most on new cars so if you want Bluetooth

leather seats and all that kind of stuff then buying used is something to really

consider and not to mention the used car is probably a lot safer too because it

was more expensive to begin with keep in mind that the best value for a used car

is when they're only about two to eight years old and they only have 24 to 96

thousand miles on them this is the best time to buy a car because it'll be

plenty reliable and the worst of the depreciation is over with now obviously

your budget is important here so make sure to buy a car that you can afford

but just keep in mind that its best value is gonna be before it hits ninety

six thousand miles and sometimes buying a new car like a year-end one might not

be that much more expensive than a used one so it is something to consider but

if you are open to buying a new car then you can watch this video right here now

you've got to understand there are three key steps in order to get the best value

in buying a used car from a dealer you've got to do a lot of research on

the car you've got to get the best price for the car and you've got to get the

best financing for the car as well now when it comes to buying a used car

research is huge because they still cost a lot of money

and the last thing you want is some random repair bill right after you buy

the car you'll want to check Edmonds comm TrueCar comm and Kelley Blue Book

for the best online research for car buying these websites will help you

decide which car is right for you and what you should be paying for it

the first used car I ever bought was a huge mistake because I didn't do enough

research before I bought the car I paid about three thousand dollars too much

for that car and I found out after the fact that it was a rental car and it had

been smoked in and to all you smokers out there do not smoke in your car

because the resale value will go down because of the smoking now obviously you

need to research the car safety and its resale value but also pay attention to

its repair costs and the maintenance schedule as well trust me you don't want

to buy a used car that's right on the line to needing a bunch of repairs done

and you'd be surprised at how many cars out there don't require any maintenance

until a hundred thousand miles so keep that in mind when you're doing your

research cars are so advanced these days that the hundred thousand miles stigma

needs to end for most of the cars out there and also before you buy a car make

sure to call up your car insurance and find out how much more it's gonna cost

you for the new car that you're looking into you don't want to go buy a car and

then after the fact realize that your car insurance costs way more because of

the car that you just bought so just call up your insurance ahead of time so

that you know how much more or less the car is gonna cost to insure so once

you've done your research and you know exactly which cars you want to go look

at and go check them out at a few dealerships you'll want to visually

inspect the car for any dings scratches stuff like that and you'll want to take

it for a good test drive as well and it's a good idea while your test driving

to check what's called the engine run time because this is going to give you

the best indicator of the type of miles that have been driven on the car so

let's say that you're driving a truck with only 50,000 miles on it but it's

got an engine run time of thirty three hundred hours all you're gonna do is

take fifty thousand and divide that by thirty three hundred which is going to

give you 15 which is how many miles per hour that car has averaged over the

course of its life and in this case 15 would be a bad indicator that the truck

has been to a lot of work sites or that it's done a lot of city driving but

let's say that the average came back at like 30 or four

miles per hour then that's a lot better to me knowing that the car has done a

lot of highway and freeway miles instead of City most of the newer cars these

days do log engine run time so just pay attention if you're looking at a newer

car here's just a quick look at the log that's currently running in my car no

matter what time of year it is make sure to check the AC and the heater just to

make sure you don't have any surprises when you actually need to use them and

make sure to check all the controls in the car and even turn up the radio to

make sure that the speakers aren't blown because trust me this happened to me

when I bought a used car and that sucked you'll also want to hop out of the car

and make sure that all the lights are working because trust me this is the

only chance that you're gonna be able to get the dealer to fix these types of

problems now if it's winter time when you're looking at the car you're not

gonna be able to tell if it's been smoked in because it's too cold outside

but you can at least check the ashtray for any signs of use if it has one I

bought my used car in January and I had no idea that the car had been smoked in

until about four months later when I was deep cleaning the car and I found a

cigarette butt in the middle of it now that just pissed me off because the

salesman told me that the car hadn't been smoked in which it obviously had

been now once you've found a few cars that you're legitimately interested in

buying asked to look at the CARFAX or buy one yourself most dealers will

already have the CARFAX available so hopefully you don't even have to buy it

the CARFAX will give you a really good representation of the car's history but

keep in mind that some stuff can still squeak through the cracks it'll tell you

how many owners the cars had the status of the title and it'll even tell you how

the car was registered to those owners so if you find out that the car's had

like 10 owners then that's a huge red flag because the car's been around the

block way too many times now I found out later with my used car that it was

actually registered as a rental car which I'm not down with because we all

know how we treat rental cars if I'd looked at the CARFAX like I should have

then I would have realized that it was a rental car and I would have looked into

something else I would stick with a car that had less than two owners that drove

it as a personal vehicle and if it's a lease trade-in then this is a good thing

too because it probably implies that the car has really low miles and it's been

well-maintained and if the car has a branded title you're gonna want to do a

little more research on it to find out what exactly happened at the car so that

you know if it's worth the risk and buying it now once you're confident that

you're buying the right used car asked to take it to your local McCann

that you can have a few things looked at and if you're looking into a certified

pre-owned car it's pretty justifiable that the tests have already been checked

but it's always a good idea to get a third party's opinion because they're

not invested in the sale this can cost up to a hundred bucks but trust me it's

worth it especially if you're looking at a car with a lot of miles the first

thing you'll want to have checked is your computer because you're gonna want

to see if it has any trouble codes on it and then after that you're gonna want to

check what's called the drive cycle monitoring just to make sure that the

computer hadn't been reset to hide any problems now just check under the car

for leaks and wear and tear and then also have them check under the hood for

fluids and belts and stuff like that and once again now is the time to

double-check everything just to make sure you don't have any surprises down

the road and if the car's got any normal repairs that it needs like tires or

brakes then definitely have the dealership pay for it because it's in

their best interest to still get the sale because if the dealership has a

shop they can fix all of this stuff for chief because it's at their cost and

normal wear and tear is gonna have to be fixed regardless so just have them do it

now while it's cheaper for you and at this point if you do find any huge red

flags with the car then it was probably worth paying that hundred bucks to have

it checked because nobody wants a problematic car now once you've found

the right used car let's cover price because that's kind of a big deal and if

you've made it this far could you please give the video a like because that will

help me out a lot thanks used cars are a bit harder to

know how much the dealer paid for them but as an average just figure in about

ten percent but if you're looking at a really old car the numbers are gonna be

all over the place so the only way to know if you're getting a good price for

a used car is by checking the websites that I listed earlier the average price

paid is a really good representation of what others have paid for the same car

in that same region but just keep in mind that demand has a lot to do with

the value of the car that you're looking at so if you live in snowy Utah like I

do then you'd understand that two wheel drive SUVs don't sell very well the

four-wheel drive models is what everyone is looking for up here so unless I go

down to Vegas to buy a car I've got to understand that that demand is stuck in

my local area but if you are willing to go outside your region to buy a used car

then you're probably going to find the best deal but it is a bit of a hassle to

have to drive 400 miles just a test drive a few cars now once you know the

average price paid in your you're gonna want to make sure that you

buy the car for less than that average understand that dealers have bills to

pay too but trust me it's a lot better just to give them a quick 500 bucks

rather than three thousand dollars if they were willing to sell the car

regardless so at this point just tell the dealer that you want to pay five

hundred dollars over what the low average price was paid for that car and

be sure to mention any dents dings or anything that you want fixed at this

point because they'll either fix the problems or they'll just charge you less

for the car to have the problem solved now the key to negotiating is to be

confident and polite because nobody wants to have to deal with an asshole

and if you've got a timid personality then I would highly suggest faking your

confidence because you're always gonna get screwed when you're trying to buy a

car now if you do need a little more help when it comes to negotiating a car

deal check out this video right here now once you've got the best price for the

car it's time to cover financing which can really screw you if you're not

paying attention the financing department has even more ways to make

the dealer money so you have to be paying attention to everything that

they're doing now as far as interest rates go dealers can actually get you

really good rates just so long as they're not taking a cut most

dealerships can get you really good rates from all the big lenders so just

go ahead and use them because it's a lot more convenient now financing an

interest and stuff like that can get really techie so if you need some help

just watch these videos right here so once you've got your financing all

settled the salesman is gonna offer you extended warranties and stupid carpet

cleaning and stuff like that but you've got to understand that all of these

services are negotiable so do not pay full price for any of them and if you

are interested in any of these services just tell the salesman confidently that

you want to pay invoice for them and trust me he'll probably sell it to you

at cost because it's most likely still in his best interest to get the sale

even if he doesn't get a commission they're still monthly and quarterly

goals that are still gonna be worth it to him now as far as fees go just

understand that these are sneaky ways that the dealer can make more money

the only fees that are legitimate are taxes and license and registration that

is it now taxes just plain suck but there's no way of getting out of them

but if you have to pay sales tax on anything then that's how you can tell

that it's a fee because you're never gonna have to pay tax on a tax so if

you've got some stupid doc fee that's like 300 bucks plus tax then that's a

fee and you can get out of it just tell the salesman confidently that

you do not want to pay it now if the salesman tells you that the fee

be removed because it has to be documented then just have them

compensate with the price of the car or your trade-in so that you can get out of

it just have them either lower the price of the car for 300 bucks or add three

hundred dollars to your trade-in that way the fee is at least documented but

now you can get out of it in a different area and trust me at this point the

salesman is not gonna love you but you're too far into the game for them to

lose the sale now once you've got everything signed and documented then

you can truly drive away knowing that you just got the best deal on a used car

possible now once again I'm Jason with the honest finance channel if you are

interested in any of this type of content feel free to subscribe or at

least give this video a like that's all

A Ciência do 2001 (Ft. Simon Says) - Duration: 8:14.

The Movie 2001: A Space Odyssey is a science-fiction classic, and one of my favourite movies ever.

And one of the things that most contribute to that is the science in the movie.

The Science of 2001

The onyrical tone in the movie contrasts immensely with its scientific realism

And that effect is all the more effective the bigger that contrast.

The best way to achieve that is by increasing the scientific rigour

Roll it

Add to this the fact that Kubrick was producing the movie right in the middle

of the 60's Space Race, and he was basically competing with NASA

If he made a mistake in his representation of space

the movie would seem immediately outdated or, worse yet, wrong!

To avoid that, Kubrick got technical consultants from over 50 organisations

and recruited aerospace engineers to guarantee the scientific realism of the movie

The space suits were designed by the same illustrator who worked with NASA

and engineers were consulted to make sure the breathing inside the suit sounded right

The process of suspended animation, and the cryogenic chambers

was imagined by sepcialistas based on the best medical science of the time.

The design of Clavius Base, the lunar rovers and bases, was done by NASA scientists

who made sure every technical component, button or screen, had a specific functional purpose.

Even for the explosive bolts they got technical consultants!

Discovery One itself was based on the EMPIRE spacecraft, projected by NASA in 1962

which would me moved by four nuclear engines, and would transport a crew of eight to Mars.

Discovery One's design shows extremely realistic engineering

that would have never been designed for atmospheric flight.

Most other spaceships in the movies of the time (and today as well)

have an aerodynamic, "futuristic" design, that is absolutely superfluous in the vacuum of space.

I'm looking at you Star Trek!

Equally, there's no cheating in space travel.

The spacecraft DIscovery One takes several years to reach Jupiter

And communications with Earth suffer a delay of several minutes or hours, the farther away they are.

In space, no one can hear you scream! (shut up!)

...because there is no air to transport sound.

2001 is still one of the few movies to depict space as being completely silent

I'm looking at you Star Wars fan!

And if there's no air to transport sound, then there's also no medium for heat exchanges.

Which justifies that when Dave exposes himself to the vacuum of space, he doesn't immediately freeze.

I'm looking at you Sunshine!

Even the representation of the absence of gravity is particularly well made

Once again, NASA engineers and scientists were hired to guarantee

that actor's movements in zero gravity were realistic.

The spatial disorientation inside the rotating ring that generates artificial gravity

is surprisingly similar to what we see in videos of astronauts inside the International Space Station.

But my favourite part of of the movie is HAL9000.

And to be honest, who doesn't like nice Artificial Intelligences with homicidal tendencies?

Kubrick consulted with scientists from IBM, at the time at the vanguard of computing

who helped him make an incredibly futuristic representation of an Artificial Intelligence.

Currently, one of the most exciting areas in Artificial Intelligence development

is that of Machine Learning, that allows computers to obtain new information or abilities

without these having to be programmed from the start.

This involves Supervised Learning,

where the computer analyses relations between predefined input/output pairs

and learns an algorithm that then allows him to interpret new examples

This is evident at the end of the movie, when Dave is slowly breaking apart HAL's brain

and he starts singing the song Daisy Daisy

and this is indicative of the Supervised Learning process that put him on track to becoming an autonomous AI

On the other hand, Deep Learning uses Artificial Neural Networks

that allows computers to interpret non-catalogued information,

and learn by themselves the best way to use it

In the movie, when the astronauts want to talk in privacy, and turn off the communications so HAL doesn't listen,

he is capable of interpreting their lip's movements and understand perfectly what they are saying;

something that would only be possible through Deep Learning.

Even HAL's descent into homicidal madness is plausible!

The contradictory instructions he receives and that lead him to insanity

are the type of problem AI programmers have to deal with today.

2001: A Space Odyssey would come out in April of 1968, only one year before Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

And even 50 years later, it is still one the most sophisticated and realistic movies ever made.

A huge thank you to Diogo Simão and Ana Monteiro, who produced and directed this video.

I made with them a review of 2001: A Space Odyssey, for the channel Simon Says!

So go and check out the channel Simon Says! the review will be there very soon.

and in the meantime subscribe for the best movie reviews you'll ever want.
