Why Russians run away from you / Be careful with asking "How are you doing?" in Russia - Duration: 5:18.

Hello This is Sveta. How are you? How we doing? How are things? These are

the questions you can often hear in english-speaking countries and very

rare in Russia. European greetings tend to be quite long because they say both

hello and how are you doing. If you greet somebody you tell him hello

how are you doing and he he is supposed to give you a

very short and positive answer. Like I'm fine thanks what about you. And then you

kinda repeat the same short and positive answer. You can say I'm great thanks. In

Russia things are quite different. Because if I meet somebody and it is not

my best friend and it is not my relative then I would just say hello to him

and that's all. If I meet my best friend then I will say both hello and how are you doing (not how do you do!)

But the nature of that question is different. Because that friend may answer

me in three different ways. If he's fine then just in English he will say I'm fine thanks

what about you. If he is great and if something really good had happened to

him recently or if he is a son of a millionaire

then he'll still say I'm fine because we see this answers like I'm great or I'm

better than everybody else we see it as bragging and we tend to avoid it. But

later in the conversation he will still tell me the truth.And if his life doesn't go the

way he wants his answer will be quite long. And this is the main difference

between our languages because in English you always get a short answer and in

Russian you may get a very long answer. That's why you only ask this question

when you have time to listen to the long story.

And if you're not ready to listen to it then you do not ask this question even

if it's your your best friend. And that's why we rare ask this question. And of

course I understand that asking this question in English is just a formality.

It's just it's like a second part of a complex formal greeting. But Russians

still see this question as a real question and that's why they tend to

answer this question in their Russian way. If you are an English speaker and you are

in Russia and you talk to a random Russian and you tell him Hello! How are you?

Then that Russian will get really confused because he will not understand

why you ask him this question. Because you're not his relative, you're not his

friend. And then he might either either answer nothing and try to leave you as

soon as possible or he will like answer you in a Russian way it means he may

complain a little bit and tell you about his life. And it will create a

misunderstanding because you as an English speaker you expect a short and

positive answer and he as the Russian he may tell you a lot about himself and he

may not understand why you ask him such an intimate question. Of course when we learn

English we also learn the true nature of these kind of questions, but still if

we do not live in an english-speaking country we tend to forget about it

and we tend to see these questions as real. And also if I meet an English

speaker in Russia and I have to greet him then it's also kind of difficult because

I know that I'm supposed to say "How are you doing" but it's like I have to overcome

myself, I have to force myself. Because my nature tells me that "you do not know

that man and you cannot ask him such a question". That's why it's kind of

difficult sometimes. Ao keep it in mind when you're in Russia or when you talk

to a Russian. And do not take it personally if a Russian say just "Hello" to

you and doesn't ask you "How are you doing?"

It's just our Russian language influences there our English language.

you don't have an app if you simply just send out an insert card or send out a

follow-up email you can advise your customers to contact you through

facebook Messenger and get them to sign up to your money chat list this way

again having a list of your previous customers our money chat is extremely

powerful because this is going to make it even easier to launch new products if

someone has came through purchased a product of you in the past whether

that's on Amazon of your own e-commerce site and they new advertise your new

through Amazon simply ask Amazon you know how do I do this with a product how

do I do that with a product can your product be used this way and then Amazon

send this message on to you it's a lot better if the customer can deal with you

direct ask you these questions direct and you can give them an answer like

that like you will get a notification through your Facebook page as soon as

someone sends a message to you you can have this customer on a list so that you

can contact them further with a simple broadcast on mani Chasse you can keep

this customer up to date with your brand what it is your brand's doing what's

your brand working on get ideas from this customer about how to develop your

brand so that your brand is truly a customer centric brand you can get

product ideas from them and new improvement ideas from them as well but

I know firsthand from being a seller that the most question you're going to

always ask before you dive in and do a load of work is you know how can it

actually impact my bottom line how is it actually going to make me money and

LEGO Star Wars Elite Praetorian Guard Battle Pack review! 75225 - Duration: 9:48.

hello everyone this is the Lego Star Wars Elite Praetorian Guard battle pack

and this is a pretty straightforward figure pack but I actually have issues

with the selection of figures in this pack so I'll talk about that but first

let's just take a look at the figures themselves up close each of these

Praetorian guards has a unique weapon equipped by default and there's also one

additional weapon included in the set you can see how those are a built in

obviously this set does give you a very generous number of nice red colored

lightsaber hilt pieces for making your own custom stuff if you like looking

beyond the accessories here you get three figures with two different helmet

styles - a one style one of another and the torsos are identical the hips are

identical the legs are identical notice that these have standard style legs

unlike the first Praetorian guards that we got in the original set to include

them and yeah everything is just the same between them they do not have any

faces their heads are just plain red minifig heads with no prints whatsoever

which i think is perfectly fine you know we never see their faces in universe

anyway at least up to this point hey we have not and yeah it just makes

everything nice and even I think that the prints on those torsos are very good

and introducing versions of these with regular legs instead of using the same

kind of robe style lower piece again just gives us more variety which is

certainly a good thing and then there's this dude and let me not mince words

this is a filler figure it's just a regular first order stormtrooper which I

think looks very good personally they've they've updated these doesn't really

change anything for me I think they looked good

to begin with they still look good with the exception of the blaster you know I

hope that one day Lego will wake up and just give fans what they want and

include a regular good-looking you know more slightly more scale realistic

blaster that doesn't actually shoot as an option for people who want that for

the many adults and teens and kids and kids and kids who want good looking

little blasters that don't shoot you can still include the stud shooters

in a set but include the good-looking blasters also because it hardly cost

anything to produce and to include angry clone face under there it's tired by now

but it is what it is I think figure itself looks good but doesn't belong in

this pack before I talk about the side build let's talk about this number of

Praetorian guards here in the last Jedi in that wonderful scene where we get to

see these wonderful red dudes who are so cool there are eight Praetorian guards

so why would Lego not include four Praetorian guards in a Praetorian guards

battle pack so that you could just buy two of them and have a full team oh I

already talked about that my my issues with the the math here when the pack was

first announced the battle pack was and shockingly I got a lot of pushback from

viewers about that saying that well there's some very very basic arithmetic

that hi Jane obviously just can't comprehend if you get two of these

battle packs as they are designed by Lego who knows what they're doing you

get six Praetorian guards all right one two three four five six simple math then

you also buy the Stokes throne room set you get two more six seven eight you get

eight in total which is the correct number uh duh well now that this battle

pack has actually been released and I can talk about it in person let me

destroy that retort the set that includes these two cost $70 nobody wants

to pay $70 for two Praetorian guards the rest of the set was not worth the rest

of the seven dollars anybody who just wants

Praetorian guards should be able to buy eighth praetorian guard pack and should

be able to buy two of them since each pack comes with four figures should be

able to buy two of them and get eight spending $30.00 us rather than having to

spend $30.00 us here and then another $70 for these two final figures a total

of 100 which sounds better to you how will tell you which sounds better to me

$30.00 to me sounds better than 100 to get a full pack to get a full team of

Praetorian guards this was a total mistake the math is simple should have

had four Praetorian guards in this praetorian guard battle pack all right

what about this side bill here this is interesting to me

I believe it's non-canonical it's not supposed to be part of snoke's throne

room or anything but it follows along with the color scheme which is kind of

cool this is a weapon stand off to the side which has some clips on it to hold

on to the extra weapons you can change out so you have that chain I don't

recall the exact name of that style of chain equipped melee weapon but you also

get a couple of extra studs there for your stud shooter and there's a droid

yeah I like Star Wars droids well training droid or the blaster and a

lightsaber that he holds on to so you can pretend that this can be used for

the sake of training that looks much better

like that stand is included and speaking of stands well that's what all this here

is just a big stand for a couple of figures to fight to do some training I'm

not going to go ahead and do the full proper posing of two figures but the

idea is that you put one here and then you put one over here and this isn't the

best matchup with long and short weapons but it's all good you know and then you

know they're supposed to try fighting against each other and that's

you know it's still a little training scene I think it's cool

and I think this is a nice way to display at least a couple of these dudes

you know and if you get a couple packs then the extras just stand around this

one's just kind of waiting his turn or something yeah it's it's all good you

know a little bit of structure I think is is nice to have rather than a vehicle

rather than making up a vehicle or something for these you know yeah

I'm perfectly satisfied with this small build I really like the color scheme it

really works works well with these guys obviously I mean it's easy to do red and

black but I just think it looks proper and makes enough sense you know unlike

the inclusion of just three Praetorian guards in an elite Praetorian Guard

battle pack rather than four yeah major major missed their major mistake I don't

like it not happy about that I like the pack

with the exception of the inclusion of an a totally unnecessary filler that

makes really dumb math work I don't like dumb math I don't like

forcing people to spend more money than they ought to there was there is no

sensible reason to to set up the math the way that they did if that was their

intent you know expecting people to get snoke's throne-room for $70 when most

folks want the Praetorian who are interested in that at all what the

Praetorian guards I guess Snoke you know had some value in

that throne room set but he didn't really do much in the Star Wars universe

as we know at least in the cinematic stuff so I think really the red dudes or

what it's all about this should add four red dudes and everything would have been

perfect I built this set over on my build channel of course you can check

that out via the link in the end screen here momentarily it'll also be linked

from the pinned comment it's a combined video

one other small set build at the same time since this is so small at the end

of that build process I was left with these pieces as spares which for such a

small set is a great selection because it does include a red lightsaber hilt a

gunmetal gray lightsaber held one of these very useful small robot arms a

couple of hollow studs and one of these machete pieces I mean just for how how

small the set is this is a great little haul of of excess items that's all I had

to show for this video though so I will move on and talk to you later

Bail-ins. Let me explain quickly what that is. Banks have a hard time because

they often make terrible mistakes; that is they invest money by loaning it out

to people and businesses who can't pay it back. When that happens the bank is

supposed to use the capital of the people who got together to create the

bank, the capital of shareholders if they sell shares to the public, to deal with

their mistakes. To fix the damage of folks they lent to who can't pay it back.

It's the job of the bank not to lend to people who can't pay it back. So when

they don't get repaid, like happened on a massive scale in 2008-2009,

you know what the banks do. They don't want to use up their own money so they

go to the government to get a bailout. The problem is the politicians who give

banks big bailouts, as they did, get to be hated by the mass of people who

understand very well what's going on; that private banks to make private money

want the government to bail them out and they don't want to have to do it. But the

banks don't want to do it. So here's what the banks and the politicians got

together. They found another sucker. You know who it is? The depositor. It turns

out that the laws have been rewritten, starting with a bank in Cyprus that went

belly-up a few years ago, to allow banks when they can't recover money they lent

(and should not have lent) they don't now have to go to the government to get a

bailout they can get a "bail-in". You know what that is? Taking money from the

depositors who put money in the bank and simply taking it to recoup their own

capital that they can't get back from the people they lent to. Is it legal to

have a bail-in, to take the money of the depositor and not give it back to them?

The answer is yes. In many countries including the United States the laws now

allow a bail-in. Should that upset you? Uh huh.

LEGO Star Wars Inferno Squad Battle Pack review! 75226 - Duration: 9:09.

hello again this is the lego starwars Inferno Squad battle pack another set

that's based on a game Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the main campaign

they're from and also a bit of backstory that was written for her book let's take

a closer look at the figures first because they're the most important

things I actually have questions about some of the figures but not this one

this is I had in versio the main character from the battlefront 2

campaign you play as her as the player character and I think that she is

captured pretty well here yes as this figure the flesh skin tone as opposed to

light flesh looks pretty appropriate the hairstyle looks pretty good the torso

print for her I believe is exclusive notice it's a female torso which totally

makes sense for this one you has a named character it's not overdone with the

waist lines it just looks well it just looks right to me this is just well done

there's the alternate face which also looks pretty good and that print is

really good with the teeth being very very white you know good opacity on that

it's good to see one thing that is not working for me here is the fact that

there is no helmet included for her she did have a helmet also let me just pull

the helmet off one of the other characters though so that's what that

would look like and there's the problem I'm sure that's why they didn't include

a helmet for this one because they wanted to include two faces you have to

choose either or if you're gonna go with the you only actual flesh colored head

rather than a black head with a balaclava style like they used to do

with just a single face printed on one side the other three figures in the set

are outwardly identical they have the same helmets and the same prints for all

of the parts of the bodies all four of the figures in this set

have the same hip and leg prints and this one has the long gun which means

that it should be the sniper of the bunch whose last name is del Nico and

let me just let you see that print on the back of that torso first notice here

again you're able to see the skin tone very clearly for the head which is just

not ideal if you ask me I really wish they would go back to the black based

heads for these and just to the balaclava style and really was the best

compromise if they could do it properly so angry clone face here obviously del

amico is not supposed to be a Jango clone but looking past that just looking

at the features of the face they actually kind of do look like a del

amico face I can I can see it I can see it making sense if I could get past the

fact that Tet has been established as a Jango clone face I yeah I could see that

matching up but it's not necessarily the best match in this set in my opinion

that honor actually goes to this figure which again outwardly identical nothing

different to be seen here externally except for the different weapon that

happens to be in hand but again everything else is looking the same but

for the face I got I think those sunken eyes look like what they came up with

for the rendering for del amico but yeah that's that's just me I mean

certainly the the angry expression with the bigger mouth made more sense when he

was being expressive but I think we had a relaxed face this might have made a

little bit more sense but Lego has not officially given names to these

characters and let you know which is supposed to be which so it's entirely up

to interpretation and here's the last one he has a launcher now this totally

makes sense as a use of that spring-loaded shooter piece totally

makes sense that looks really good and it fires as well so

perfect use of that I'm glad this one does not have just a regular non-working

shooters this is perfect but some of the others should have had some some nicer

looking non-working shooters you can include both Lego you can do it it won't

cost you much it's pennies if that the face for this one yeah that's ask

that's totally asked has that very straight horizontal mouth in-game that's

that's what I see there notice this one also has the the utility

belt in black I guess that's one thing that does different between them you can

put that on whichever figure you want but only one of them is officially

included in a set but yeah there you go I'm not sure if you noticed what I did

there but I mentioned three official characters while talking about four

different figures infernal squad in the game has three members which is an odd

number literally and figuratively for a squad and as it turns out I didn't know

this previously Ferno squad did originally have four members per the

book that they came up with for some backstory and the fourth member didn't

make it into the story by the time of the the game the fourth member should

have been I mean none of these really is really work for that the fourth member

should have been a woman so yeah really none of these work for that I don't know

which one is supposed to be the odd one out here but yeah it's a little bit of a

Miss I don't know if Lego just didn't have the information for that but yeah

there should be two women in total an extra helmet would have been nice but it

would have required either a single face here or a conversion to a more sensible

black based head for all of these these battlepacks tend to have side builds and

this one has a single-seat attack speeder with lots of weapons on it

including two working stud shooters which are again nice to have here

this thing's very switchable and those stud shooters are easy to fire off with

causing any issues with the structure of this is there actually the kind of wings

are attached with with Technic bits Technic connectors Technic bricks and

they're all fairly sturdy so that's pretty nice

Lego officially just describes this as a TIE fighter style speeder yeah it's a

bit of a stretch it's it's a made-up thing as far as I know but there may be

there may be things in the expanded universe that look similar to this

I'm just not familiar with with any such I almost see a little bit of the wing in

it just a little bit just a little bit I said but like I said it's a it's a

made-up thing and I think it's perfectly fine would have been better if it could

have held at least two people but it looks star wars it looks fun it's

playable and it's definitely massive also if you want to get multiple battle

packs you can and you can just build up more of exactly this and it won't look

too weird it's an interesting choice for a Lego set prior to the announcement of

this thing I never would have expected them to do a battlefront 2 campaign

based set but they did you know I like TIE fighter pilots I think they look

great usually and these here with the extra red in them look very nice I think

that I didn't was done well the build is pretty good and yeah the whole thing

turned out alright my only personal problems with this are well first of all

not being able to properly helmet the main character up but also just you know

the hits yes are you talked about plenty by now questions I have about those but

all in all just as as a toy it's a pretty good toy and pretty well produced

here's the small number of extra pieces included in the set and wonderfully one

of the pieces is an extra utility bill thing in black great thing to have as a

spare you can find the build for this set small as it is combined with one

other build over on my build channel I will link to that

Courage, Not Confidence, For Facing Fears | Chris Masterjohn Lite #108 - Duration: 6:13.

This is why you need courage, not

confidence, when facing your fears.

Hi, I'm Dr. Chris Masterjohn of

chrismasterjohnphd.com, and this is

And today we're going to talk about why

courage, not confidence, is what you want

when facing your fears.

In the last episode, I talked about how using

100 milligrams of GABA before, in the

60 minutes before you face your fears

can help protect your immune system from

the stress response. And even though this

is a nutrition show, it's good to branch

out into related disciplines every once

in a while, especially in mental health

because although nutrition is very

important to mental health and is often

neglected and really needs to be talked

about, there still is so much more, like your

mindset and emotions, that all play in to

your mental health. So, I'll tell a story.

A few weeks ago, I was snowboarding for

the first time in, well, for the first

time since last year. And I'm pretty

afraid of heights, and so I had a little

anxiety about getting on the chairlift

the first time around. And I was looking

inside myself for the confidence to not

have anxiety about it to confirm that it

was okay to get on the chairlift. And

I was having some doubts about that

because I did have some anxiety

about it, because I am a little afraid of

heights, and because the only way I would

be able to use that approach to have

that confidence, to find that lack of

anxiety, would be to BS myself, and if

I'm BSing myself, then that,

the whole system of how I'm supporting

myself through BS can fall apart as

soon as it becomes obvious to the rest

of my brain that I was BSing myself.

So, then I thought of something that I

had literally just read the night before

that made me hop right on the chairlift

and have a great time. And that was this

excerpt from Tim Ferriss's book "Tribe of

Mentors," which is shown on the screen.

So, the relevant chapter is written by

Deb Millman, who is an influential designer, and

she is the host and founder of the

podcast Design Matters. And here is the

quote that is relevant. Ferriss asks

Millman, "In the last five years, what new

belief, behavior, or habit has most

improved your life?" And Millman responds,

"After a Design Matters interview with

the great writer Dani Shapiro, we

started to talk about the role of

confidence in success." She went on to

state that she felt that confidence was

highly overrated. I was instantly

intrigued. She explained that she felt

that most overly confident people were

really annoying, and the most confident

people were usually arrogant. She felt

that over exuding that amount of

confidence was a sure sign that a person

was compensating for some type of

internal psychological deficit. Instead,

Dani declared that, "Courage was more

important than confidence. When you are

operating out of courage, you are saying

that no matter how you feel about

yourself, or your opportunities, or the

outcome, you were going to take a risk

and take a step toward what you want.

You are not waiting for the confidence to

mysteriously arrive. I now believe that

confidence is achieved through repeated

success at any endeavor. The more you

practice doing something, the better you

will get at it, and your confidence will

grow over time." So, there's a few things

that are in there. There's the importance

of humility, there's the fact that you

build confidence by doing the things

that you're not confident about, but the

big thing that helped me in that instant

was to realize that courage is what you

seek to face your fears because by

definition, if those are your fears, you

are not confident about them. When you're

confident, you're confident of your own

capabilities, and if you don't have that

trust in yourself, then looking for

confidence just is a means of BSing

the confidence. What you want to look for

is the courage because the courage can

be real, because it's the courage that

allows you to face up to the

things that you don't trust that you're

good at, the things that you are afraid of.

And when you do, you just might want

to take 100 milligrams of GABA

I stepped on a snake! - Duration: 3:48.

It was a hot Sunday morning and I was inside my room reading a comic when I

heard a cicada singing outside my house normally I would just ignore it

but this one was close, very close I could tell judging from the noise it

was making it was pretty loud. Naturally I wanted to catch it and keep it as a

pet. I used to have one a few years prior to that incident but it flew away after

I had it for only an hour or so. I came out of my room and saw it resting on a

tamarind tree but I was really surprised to see it, there was something different

about it it was a cicada In every aspect manner but to me it was an entirely new

species. I had never seen nor heard of this creature before. yes I do hear them

singing every summer but I always thought it was the rhinoceros beetle

that was making that noise don't ask me how it was just a hunch that I had

and the pet that I mentioned before I was actually talking about the

rhinoceros beetle anyway after seeing the cicada for the

first time in my life I felt that I had to catch it. The cicada was resting in a

pretty low and exposed part of the tree however it was out of my reach so I went

back to my room and took out a bamboo stick to try and catch it. Now some of

you might be wondering how the hell did I find a bamboo stick inside my room

well! I was going through my ninja face at that time okay and since I didn't have

a real katana or a kendo stick I substituted it with a

bamboo stick now bug off. Anyway I came out of my room with the bamboo stick and

slowly tried to approach the cicada but I was not gonna let it escape me I

started following it it was fast but I was able to keep up with it.

Now at that time my house was located just 30 meters away from a river and that

damn cicada was heading straight for the trees near the riverbank despite the

fact that there were plenty of trees nearby. I was so fixed in chasing the

cicada that I didn't even bother looking at where I was going and just a few

meters away from me there was a snake behind the bushes it was a pretty large

snake about a meter long or maybe slightly

less. I don't know if the snake saw me coming or maybe it didn't get enough time

to react which was a good thing by the way, I headed straight for it and then I

instantly felt a weird sensation the sensation was almost very similar to the

time I stepped on my dog's tail except it was much softer

I instinctively turned around to see what it was and then

*screaming*

Man that really scared me normally

I'm not really scared of snakes but at that time I was ah! who should i put this surprise

scared it was kind of like when someone creeps up from the corner and goes

Weh! and you get scared and jump in surprise yeah it was kind of like that

anyway after realizing what had happened I was able to quickly gain control of

myself I looked at the snake for a couple of

seconds doing its weird thing that's snakes to whenever someone steps on them

and I realized that I had actually stepped on his head I was very lucky if

I step anywhere else other than its head things would have been fatal for me so

thank God anyway I was still holding the bamboo

stick with me so yeah I killed it. I'm sorry if you love snakes or animals in

general but what can I say, I had to kill it beside it was too close to my house

anyway. After I buried the snake I realized that the cicada I was chasing was

gone. I knew where it went but seeing that there were more trees and bushes in

that area I was like nope not worth it.
