Can Netflix Really Keep Increasing Prices? - Duration: 4:26.
Chris Hill: Fourth quarter subscribers for Netflix came in lower than the company had predicted.
Still, shares of Netflix up this week, thanks in no small part to the price increase the
company announced two days before they released the earnings.
Andy Cross: It was an impressive quarter, continuing to build on as they are building
this behemoth of a media company with 139 million global subscribers, 58.5 million in
the U.S., 80.8 million internationally. Growth was up 30%.
They continue to see they need to make the investments as they're building out the platform
that they can serve.
They offered up a lot of interesting content stats which I found very interesting.
Analysts have been looking forward to this.
The one that I found the most interesting is that they now in the U.S. have about 10%
of TV screen time per day.
That's about 100 million viewing hours in the U.S. per day on Netflix.
When you think about the volume of content they have, the ability to show that to
those subscribers, it continues to impress me.
However, it's expensive, and the free cash flow line continues to be negative.
Hill: You look at the subscriber number, Ron, yes, they came in a little bit lower than
they had guided, they still came in close to nine million.
Ron Gross: The growth, obviously, is impressive.
Playing the expectations game with that, you're going to be ahead or behind in any given quarter.
But very, very impressive.
Speaking of pricing power, getting back to that, it clearly seems that Netflix does have pricing power.
That doesn't extend into perpetuity.
At some point, they're going to raise prices, and it'll tip the scales to where some people
will say, "That's too much for me.
I'm not actually utilizing Netflix, I'm not enjoying the content enough to pay the price
that they're charging." But it doesn't seem that that will be anytime soon.
Cross: Can I go back to that stat I said? It's 100 million hours of video per day.
That's about 1.7 hours per day per membership in the U.S.
That's about 51 hours per month. The average price for Netflix subscriptions is about $10.
That's like $0.20 an hour that we're paying to use Netflix.
So, when I think about the ability for them to keep raising prices as they need to deliver
this content, I do see room for them to grow in that regard.
Hill: We talk about Netflix in the competitive landscape going up against the likes of Disney, Hulu, etc.
I thought it was pretty smart of Reed Hastings to talk about the competitive landscape, not
just in terms of those companies, but also broadening it to talk about things like YouTube and Fortnite.
Certainly for younger people, that's taking some of their attention, as well.
Jason Moser: I think that's the key, understanding that they're in the entertainment industry.
It's not just streaming video. Fortnite is a good comparison there.
Just to go back to the price increases for a second, because I do feel like Netflix has
earned that right to boost prices incrementally.
They're going to be able to do that for a little while longer.
The question for me is, how far can they go?
If you just look at the math here and say Netflix raises prices by $10 a month on all
U.S. subs today, that gives them an additional $7 billion in revenue per year.
The problem is, that money's already been spent. And they're going to have to keep on doing that.
Part of the downside of the binge-watching movement is, the content lasts a much shorter lifetime,
which means you have to come out with more content.
Their business model is in the line of producing a ton of it.
It's going to be expensive to do, but they've proven very worthy of maintaining that subscriber base.
Gross: You counter that with a company like Costco, which also appears to have some pricing
power with their membership fee.
But every time they raise that membership fee, it accrues to the bottom line.
It's incremental profit because they're so profitable in the first place because the model just works.
Moser: Yeah, the argument with Netflix is, eventually, those price increases will trickle
down to the bottom line. But it's still in theory right now.
We have to wait and see.
Cross: They did raise $800 million in notes, at one point $1 billion in euro notes, during the quarter.
Continuing to put debt on the balance sheet that they hope they can recover from down the road.

The exact answer is important to know, because it's too easy to
misunderstand the visa, and either to rush sometimes ending in
losing money on non refundable plane tickets, or getting your
frazzled Fiancee on the aircraft before she's had time to say
goodbye to family and friends, or to delay and find out at the
airport that the visa is expired.
I want to help you do your planning better.
And at the end of this video will give you three tips on what
to do to avoid last minute surprises and problems with your
Fiance Visa.

Now, let's talk about "How long does your Fiance have, after
K1 Visa approval to travel to the USA?".
After a lengthy and complicated process your fiancé has finally
been given the opportunity to interview at the US consulate.
The interview has gone well, all smiles at the end.
And about two weeks later the package arrives via courier
to your partner's home with her or his passport
inside and the visa allowing travel to the USA printed on one
of the pages.
The visa is stamped into your Fiancee's passport.
Look for the Expiration Date.
The Expiration date is the very last day that your partner
can board an and start travel to the USA.
This means your partner could wait until 11:59 on that date,
to pass through immigration at her or his country to board
the aircraft.
As long as the travel began before midnight, even if arrival
in USA is a day or so after the expiration, it still counts.
She or he will be allowed to enter the USA.
Of course I would never recommend waiting till that last minute.
Too many things might go wrong, like the aircraft being
delayed.
When making your travel plans, it's important to look at and
be sure you know the EXACT expiration date.
You should check because you might be surprised that the time
available is not the 6 months that is expected.
The visa should be valid for 6 months.
However when the 6 months starts is not the day of the interview and visa approval,
instead the clock started ticking before the interview.
Before the interview your fiancee went to a medical clinic that
was appointed by the consulate and underwent a full medical,
health check up, and had all vaccinations verified.
US immigration wants to make sure that your partner is
relatively healthy on the day of arrival.
And the CDC considers a medical exam to be accurate for only 6 months.
So instead of the visa being valid for six months from the
interview, instead it is for six months from the medical
examination.
Usually this does not make any material difference when
the medical was taken a few days or weeks preceding the
consular interview.
But some fiancee's are so eager that they organize their medical examinations months
early.
And if this is what you've done, Double check the expiration
date because instead of a leisurely approximate six months
after the interview you may only have two or three or
four months remaining before the visa expires.
Here are my tips for today.
#1.
Schedule the medical close to the time of the consular interview.
Between one and three weeks prior to the interview is the sweet spot,
that gives ample time to get the medical accomplished despite,
possible weather problem, such as rain and floods, and
power outages, but still allows plenty of time for the validity period
for the visa.
#2.
Check for typos.
The first thing to do once the visa arrives is to closely examine
it for any typos.
If your fiancee's name has been spelled wrong,
you will need to return the visa to the consulate for reprinting.
This does happen, and if you don't catch it, your fiance will be
turned away at the airport when attempting to board.
#3.
Don't book flights, chapels, honeymoons until AFTER Visa
arrives and has been checked.
Regardless of how many visas arrive on time within 2 business weeks of the interview
without any typos, there all always the exceptions.
Sometimes a delay at the consulate, or courier, or anything.

Three boys were coming home from school when they found themselves in the middle of a harrowing situation
A deeply troubled man was sitting on the edge of an overpass with a rope around his neck about to take his own life
Devonte Cafferkey, 13, Sammy Farah, 14, and Shawn Young, just 12 at the time, didn't panic
In fact, the incredible quick-thinking, heroism and compassion of the boys, who go to St Mary's High School in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, saved the man's life
They tried to keep him back from the edge, talk him around, and when he went to jump, they grabbed onto him and refused to let go
As Shawn then calmly rang for help, two other passers-by came to the boys' aide and the man was rescued
The three children are now to be recognised nationally for their bravery at the A10 overpass in Waltham Cross, last September
Shawn's mum, Carol, has been amazed at the boys' maturity and said they have "just got on with it" since their life-saving efforts
"They were coming from school and loitering around, Shawn was telling them to hurry up," said the 52-year-old
"If they had been messing around a bit longer, who knows what they would have come and met instead? "I feel like they were meant to be there to help him
"Shawn told me what happened when he came home. "I let him finish the whole story and the whole way through I was smiling because there was nothing I could add to it
"While trying to keep the man back and talk him out of suicide, he passed the boys his mobile phone saying 'if it rings, don't answer it'
" The boys were helped by 47-year-old Joanne Stammers, who is registered disabled with Klippel–Trénaunay syndrome, a rare disability that makes her highly prone to blood clotting
Despite her condition, which prevents her from working, Joanne took over from the boys and held onto the man "for what feels like forever" and was left with bruising all over her arms
Another man, James Higlett, did his part in saving the man's life. All five will receive awards from the Royal Humane Society, a charity promoting life-saving intervention
Shawn's mum Carol is immensely proud of the boys' behaviour. She said: "I am extremely proud of all three of them, they are all good boys and it's nice that they are getting recognised for doing something good in the community
"Quite often in the national news there are a lot of negative reports about young people so it is nice to have something positive
"They are very young and I marvel at how they are all dealing with it." "Every time I speak to them I learn something new about what happened
"For example, the man was passing out and got heavier for them, I didn't know that until recently
" Jacqueline Cafferkey, Devonte's mum, found out the good news a couple of weeks ago and described it as a "huge achievement
" The three children picked up Special Achievement Awards at the Broxbourne Youth Awards for their bravery
Joanne described the award as a "great honour" and said she is still in touch with Jacqueline
"It's amazing to get this award, it's obviously under sad circumstances but it's also great that the kids are getting something for what they did," she said
"I am really pleased for them and I hope other children can see it's worth stopping to help someone
" Joanne, who was on her way back from visiting her mum in Waltham Cross when she saw Shawn calling for help, told the Hertfordshire Mercury she "hates" going under the bridge now and avoids it when she can
She still sees her mum once a week and pays special attention to any bridge she goes under now to make sure nobody is standing by the edge
The heroes that day were nominated for these awards by Hertfordshire Police. A date for the awards presentation has not yet been set

the setting we will be using for the game is a Native display resolution of 1366 by
768 with everything set to low with Texture being on medium.with that we get about 10-30
frame per second.
The game shatters a lot which is not good.
So my final verdict on the game is not playable ... though some might disagree, I believe
this game is not for this GPU.

so so far the game is actually good erm its very good to play I believe I believe the
makers were targeting the game to be close to the original as possible and in my opinion
they succeed in doing that so yes the game is pretty awesome though its a shame we can't
