Hi, I'm Larry and welcome to Day 5 of Figuary: Figure Drawing Month.

Let me make a suggestion, save your Figuary drawings.

Don't throw them out right away.

Keep them till at least the end of month.

Reviewing your drawings is a way to track your progress.

But more important it can serve as a roadmap to where you need to go to improve your drawing skills.

Eventually you'll go about the process of culling your drawings, keeping the good, weeding

out the average and the mediocre.

It's a way learning to discern what makes a good and a bad drawing.

I wait till I finish an entire sketch pad, perhaps two hundred pages, before I review.

I might keep a dozen or two drawings.

But as I work in newsprint (not the most archival paper), I know my drawings will eventually be tossed.

For that reason, I might take a photo for my records.

Just some food for thought.

in this video i'm going to show you spider plants hanging garden

here some spider plants

now i'm going to re pot these plants in plastic pots

soil mixture is equal part of the garden soil and coco peat and some compost

after 3 weeks later plants are grown well

now i'm going to hang these potted spider plants

making the hangers using nylon thread

two months later all the plants have grown well with babies and flowers at the ends

Herb Roasted Cornish Game Hens - Duration: 3:17.

Today we're making a romantic dinner for two.

[ music ]

Come on in, welcome to my home.

Today we are making a romantic dinner for two.

However, the irony is these are Cornish hens.

They were supposed to be bigger

They're not. These were all I could get

at the time but we're just going to go with it. Everything which you're going to see,

down in the description which has all the ingredients listed, it will work

for whatever size Cornish hen that you have,

but these are really small so it's sort of funny.

First thing I'm going to do, I'm going to place the Cornish hens into my baking pan.

Small baking pan. After washing my hands, I'm going to take this,

This is just about, probably, I'm going to take about an 1/8 of an onion you can use

less you can use more.

Place that inside.

One clove of garlic, which has been smashed.

Placing that inside.

[ silence ]

Now I've got oregano, basil, and rosemary.

I'm going to give these a quick shake,

sprinkle some inside the birds.

You can do that before

the onion you can do that after the onion once again after washing your

hands I'm going to drizzle a little bit of olive oil

[ drizzling oil ]

You can rub that into the

bird just remember, you are, you are touching a raw bird so make sure that

you wash your hands afterwards

I'm going to take pepper, just a little bit a

little bit of salt,

[ sprinkling salt ]

and then sprinkle a little bit of our seasoning over top of the birds

I'm gonna cover this with foil normally I would have done this in a

roasting pan but they just looked so sad in the roasting pan I'm gonna cover this

with foil and let it roast for about an hour and 15 minutes until they are done.

Alright my hens are out of the oven they are slightly under cooked because I still

have to take all this down before or dinner time, so I'm going to rewarm,

I'm going to warm them up a little bit later and I didn't want to overcook them.

Now you should cook yours he'll probably take about an hour and 15, an hour.

You then just nicely brown them and they will come out so good and so wonderful

I'm sure I'm inserting shots of what it looks like on the final plate I don't

want to do right now because we're really going to eat this.

Five Things I Wish I'd Known Before Entering Revenue Management- Pt. 3 - Duration: 3:27.

the insights you need for the week ahead

in order to outrun your competition

and take your hotel's revenue optimization efforts

to the next level without breaking a sweat.

This week, we're going to talk about

the number one thing that I wish I'd known

before embarking on a career in revenue optimization.

Without further ado, number one-

idiots, assholes, and saboteurs

exist in the real world too.

I remember sitting down and talking with my friends

about my frustration level with

certain members of my group-based project teams.

They often weren't pulling their own weight,

and the work that they would submit

often needed serious retouching

before we were able to turn it in.

Little did I know that during my career,

my success would depend on working with those

that nobody wanted in their project group during college.

The single most important thing you can do

to ensure your success in revenue management

is to hone your communication and collaboration skills

and to learn how to build a revenue management culture

with the team around you, regardless of their skill set

or how you feel about them personally.

No matter how effective you are in your job functions,

you can only go so far alone.

If you don't have a team, a network,

and a support system around you, you will fail.

A key to building this culture is to take the time

to understand what makes your team click

and work within that framework

in order to carry out your agenda.

You can accomplish far more by

showing people how helping you achieve your goals

will allow them to accomplish theirs

than you can by trying to strong arm them

into something without showing the benefits.

And a funny thing may happen when

you work with people to gain consensus.

You may find out that they're not

idiots, assholes, or saboteurs after all.

Now I'll conclude with this.

It's important to remember that

at varying points throughout your career,

you will inadvertently play the role

of idiot, asshole, or saboteur yourself.

One of my biggest failures occurred

during my early years of my career

when I was tasked with leading my first reservations team.

I was coming into a situation

where wholesale changes were needed,

but rather than taking the time to get to know my team

and figuring out how I could motivate them

to help me make these changes,

I simply mandated what needed to happen.

I hadn't built up the requisite leadership capital,

and I was a bit overbearing.

As a result, I turned over an entire team.

While it worked out in the end,

I've always wondered how much more quickly

I would have been able to implement the changes

had I been more focused on leading

rather than barking orders.

I've also had more than my fair share

of turns playing the idiot, which I find often happens

when I spend more time speaking

than I do listening and seeking to understand.

Fortunately, throughout my career,

I've had the opportunity to work with leaders

that have shown me grace at each turn.

And for that, I owe them everything

that I've been able to achieve to date.

Improve Your Vocabulary: 25 English adjectives to describe people - Duration: 9:51.

Hi, there, and welcome back to engVid.

Today we are looking at 25 words that can be used to describe people.

This video is mainly for those at the beginning of their journey learning English; but,

of course, you may just pick up a few new words if you're an intermediate, too.

So, these are predominantly adjectives.

Okay?

And what we are going to be doing is seeing whether they say a good thing about someone

or a bad thing about someone.

Okay.

So, if it says a good thing about someone, we'll put a smiley face; if it puts a bad

impression about someone, we'll put an unhappy face.

First word: "huge".

Now, do you think it would be good to be called "huge"?

If you're a guy?

If you're a girl?

It probably depends.

Most guys want to go to the gym and get really big; but many girls, the sort of stereotypical

perceived body perfection is slightly smaller.

So, I will put...

Say it to a guy; not a girl.

"Agile".

"Agile" means that you are graceful.

If you think of the animal, the deer, it moves very gracefully.

So, "agile", I think that's a positive thing to say to someone.

"Feeble".

"Feeble" means weak; pathetic.

No one wants to be called "feeble".

If I was going to describe someone as feeble, I would say: "The Liverpool football player

was feeble in their effort to stop the goal."

"Tasteful".

"Full" means full of; you have a lot of it.

"Taste" means being able to choose good things; having good taste in art, in music, in food,

in clothes.

Okay?

If you're tasteful, it means you make good decisions.

Obviously we want to be described as being tasteful.

"Slight" means small.

Okay?

So, "slight" sounds like we're not very important; we're just sort of a bit small.

We don't want to be called "slight".

"Dishevelled".

"Dishevelled".

This means messy.

Okay?

Unorganized; a bit chaotic.

We don't want to be called "dishevelled".

"Grubby".

"Grubby" is another word for dirty.

Generally, people don't want to be described as being dirty.

"Unkempt".

"Unkempt", so the prefix "un" means not; "kempt" means looked after.

So, if you are unkempt, we get the idea that maybe the person has not washed for some time,

they haven't brushed their teeth, their clothes are falling apart.

So, we don't want to be unkempt.

Grease.

"Greasy", "greasy".

Maybe you have seen "Greased Lightning", the song from the hit Grease.

So, "Greased Lightning", the car is really slick and it's all kind of new, and it's going

to impress everyone.

But if we're applying grease to a person, it's not such a good thing.

We don't want kind of petrol and things in our...

In our hair.

We don't want our skin to be greasy.

So, this has two meanings: "Greasy" in terms of sort of hair and skin, but also "greasy"

means we don't really trust that person; they're a little bit suspicious.

"Bonny".

"Bonny" generally is applied to a baby.

You would say: "That's a bonny baby."

It means: Good-looking; looks healthy.

"Attractive".

Okay?

If we're attracted to something, we want to go towards it.

Yeah?

We want people to like us, we want to...

We want to be attract-...

Attractive.

"Exquisite" - one of my favourite words.

"Exquisite" means sort of near perfection, just absolutely fantastic.

Of course, we all want to be exquisite.

"Youthful".

Again, the suffix: "ful" meaning full of; "youth", young, full of young energy, lots

of...

You know, really playful.

Thing of Tigger from Winnie-the-Pooh who goes boinging over trees and things.

"Youthful" is fun.

You want to be fun.

"Fresh".

So, "fresh"...

"Fresh as a daisy", you say.

We feel fresh when we have had a shower in the morning; we're ready for the day.

Yes, we want to be fresh; we don't want to be all tired.

So, "fresh" - good.

"Gorgeous".

Another way of saying "beautiful".

Yeah, it's...

It's...

It's...

Again, you would say it to someone you find attractive.

Rath-...

So, you wouldn't describe a friend as being gorgeous.

"Radiant", this means shining.

Okay?

"The light was radiant."

The person is...

So, it's as if they seem to give off an energy, a good energy, then they are radiant.

"Scrawny".

The idea I get here is all sort of bones and not very much flesh on the person.

So, "scrawny" - just bones.

We don't want to be just bones.

"Moody".

Okay?

So we can see the word "mood".

We've got three main emotions: Joy, sad...

And what?

Angry or...

And anger.

Okay?

"Moody" is looking at the two ones of sort of anger and sadness; they're more filled

with perhaps anger than they are moody.

Not such fun to be around.

"Gloomy".

I don't know if you know Winnie-the-Pooh; seem to be talking about it a lot in today's

lesson, but Eeyore is the gloomy, the rather sad donkey.

Okay?

"Life's not very good."

Gloomy Eeyore.

"Plump".

There aren't many girls who would like to be described as plump, so don't call them

that.

Okay.

"Plump" means a little bit fat.

"Smart".

Two meanings, here.

First of all, you could say that someone is smart, meaning that they are clever or intelligent.

Also, it can describe their clothes; they dress in a smart manner.

It means they look good; they don't look messy.

Quite the opposite of being "dishevelled", so that is a positive.

"Uncouth", this is about bad manners.

If someone has bad manners, they are "uncouth".

"Uncouth" - bad manners.

"Clumsy".

"Clumsy" is when you sort of knock things over, shoelaces undone...

Yeah.

"Clumsy", quite the opposite of...

Can you spot the word?

It's the opposite of in the top row, somewhere over here - the opposite of "agile".

"Cheerful".

"Full" of "cheer".

So, "cheer" means sort of happiness, full of happiness.

Good fun.

"Immaculate".

"Immaculate" means sort of perfect.

Okay?

So, up to you whether you think that's good or bad.

It's certainly probab-...

I would say it's more positive than negative; the negative being that it might be a slight

pain, that person, but that's just my opinion.

What I want you to do now is I want you to think of a person to describe.

Okay?

So think of someone, just could be anyone; a good friend, family.

Okay?

Jot it down on a piece of paper, and then pick five of these words to describe them.

Which ones would you use?

Just have a quick look.

Does it build a picture of them?

I hope so.

Valentines Day is just around the corner

So I thought I'd give you some suggestions on what you could get your loved one for that special day.

I think this video will focus on what to get your Mr. for Valentines.

To start,

Us fellas are pretty easy to please.

A stinky sock....A chewy bone..And a belly rub!!

Ahhh wait....

I guess I should stick with humans for this one.

OK...

So if you want something fun...

Go with Video games!

But none of that new stuff!

I'd prefer Zelda, or Mario Kart...

Maybe a little Donkey Kong to kick it old school.

Or you could take him

Paintballing...Then you could hurt him if he didn't get YOU something nice! Heheh

Now...

If you're looking for something practical

You could get him a watch.

Then he has no excuse for being late to see you!

Or some tools... so he can make you something nice.

A wallet...

So he can hold money in it....to also buy you something nice!

You could try cologne...

But make sure it's one YOU like since you're the one who's going to have to smell him all day.

Now...

If you want to go the romantic route...

Try some boxers with hearts on them.

And I mean the underwear...not the dog!

Candles are nice too... Especially if he's afraid of the dark!

OR...Maybe you can get him a t-shirt that says "I love my Pug"

Or some other dog.... if he's into that sorta thing.

Fancy dancy sunglasses might be fun too!

Prince Philip health update: Philip 'more frail' after crash - how is Prince Philip now? - Duration: 2:30.

 Prince Philip, 97, was left "somewhat shaken" after the car crash which involved his Land Rover colliding with a Kia near the Queen's Sandringham state in Norfolk

The Duke of Edinburgh escaped uninjured, Buckingham Palace confirmed, but two women in the other involved car were hospitalised

One suffered a broken wrist. A nine-month-old baby escaped unharmed. Royal sources have now revealed Queen Elizabeth II's husband has been "struggling" since the horrible accident occurred

How is Prince Philip doing after the car accident? In a letter to Emma Fairweather, 46, who was injured in the crash the Duke of Edinburgh conceded: "I was somewhat shaken after the accident

" A royal source has also revealed the accident has left the 97-years-old Duke "struggling" and "more frail"

 The source told The Sun: "He has been visibly more since he was pulled from the wreck

 "The truth is away from public eyes this has shaken him really badly — as it would anyone

 "The idea he may have hurt someone would mortify him. "He's faced criticism for not being in touch with victims sooner

 "But anyone who has been in a crash knows for legal reasons you have to be so careful about apologising and making contact

" The Duke of Edinburgh has since penned a letter to Ms Fairweather, saying he was "deeply sorry"

 In the letter, Prince Philip wrote: "I would like you to know how very sorry I am for my part in the accident at the Babingley cross-roads

 "I have been across that crossing any number of times and I know very well the amount of traffic that uses that main road

 "It was a bright sunny day and at about three in the afternoon, the sun was low over the Wash

In other words, the sun was shining low over the main road. "In normal conditions I would have no difficulty in seeing traffic coming from the Dersingham direction, but I can only imagine that I failed to see the car coming, and I am very contrite about the consequences

" The Duke added: "I was somewhat shaken after the incident, but I was greatly relieved that none of you were seriously injured

 "As a crowd was beginning to gather, I was advised to return to Sandringham House by a local Police Officer

 "I have since learned that you suffered a broken arm. I am deeply sorry about this injury

I wish you a speedy recovery from a very distressing experience." The letter was signed off "Yours sincerely Philip"

 Aatish Taseer made his explosive claims in an article written for US-based Vanity Fair Magazine in which he discusses the future role of the Royal family, and speculates about what the Prince's wife, Princess Michael, thinks of Meghan Markle, revealing how she once told him she disapproved of royalty marrying "commoners"

 In the 2018 article which has resurfaced, Mr Taseer said: "For three surreal years, Ella and I hung about Kensington Palace

Celebrity Big Brother is here, but for those of you tuning in tonight, you may notice that it's not airing at its regularly scheduled time.

Tonight, the show will air at 9pm ET/PT.

A lot of drama has surrounded the show recently.

Recently, Joey Lawrence, who was evicted last week, opened up to EW about why his experience on the show wasn't particularly fun.

Asked if he agreed that there was a lot of tension in the house, he said, "I totally agree.

Last season, there were a lot more people who were in the right mind to play this game.

This year, people came in hot and emotional.

These are grown adults throwing f-bombs.

With all the stuff going on in the world today, people want to turn on the TV and watch people having fun with the game.".

Asked if it's all coming from the women, he said, "I do.

There are a couple of sneaky, very manipulative guys like Rick [Williams, former NFL player].

I don't know him personally and we didn't have more genuine moments, which is unfortunate because you want to be able to get to know people.

That's part of the game.

The women are very emotional.

It's not fun when people are throwing personal insults and dropping f-bombs in the house.

It's pretty crazy.".

He goes on to say it was exhausting trying to get a word in edgewise.

"They suck up all the energy in the room and then a few of them get extremely angry and personal.".

That being said, Joey has admitted that he didn't have much of a game plan on the show.

This was made all the more apparent by the fact that his motivation to win Head of Household was so that he could have access to a private bathroom.

After he left the house, Joey had an interview with Parade, during which he said he knew he was going to get voted off.

"… it was pretty predictable.

I knew that was the way the house was going to work.

It was fairly unanimous for both Jonathan and Ryan as well, except for one person.

That's what they wanted since Day 1.

Now it'll be interesting since they'll have to turn on each other.".

FIGUARY: Figure Drawing Month—DAY 5 - Duration: 17:10.

Hi, I'm Larry and welcome to Day 5 of Figuary: Figure Drawing Month.

Let me make a suggestion, save your Figuary drawings.

Don't throw them out right away.

Keep them till at least the end of month.

Reviewing your drawings is a way to track your progress.

But more important it can serve as a roadmap to where you need to go to improve your drawing skills.

Eventually you'll go about the process of culling your drawings, keeping the good, weeding

out the average and the mediocre.

It's a way learning to discern what makes a good and a bad drawing.

I wait till I finish an entire sketch pad, perhaps two hundred pages, before I review.

I might keep a dozen or two drawings.

But as I work in newsprint (not the most archival paper), I know my drawings will eventually be tossed.

For that reason, I might take a photo for my records.

Just some food for thought.
