Riverdale Recap 1x01: I Was a Pretentious 15 Year Old Too - Duration: 11:45.

My name is Jughead Forsythe Dementia Raven Way.

I'm a goth.

I see Archie walk in to Pop's.

I stick my middle finger at him *Lindsay cackling*

*"Sugar Sugar" by the Archies plays*

"Hey everybody!

Welcome back to Tanner's Books and Beyond, I'm here today with my friend Lindsay."

"Hi!"

"And we're gonna be doing a recap of the first episode of Riverdale!

The new Archie show on the CW!

It's darker and sexier and grittier. It's not your dad's Archie!

"There's death."

"There's death!"

"There's sex!"

"There's...pop culture references.

Let's see, we should just do a plot run-down?

I guess?"

"Yeah, pretty much."

"So the show starts off with Jughead - Jughead is our intrepid reporter, omniscient narrator-type guy."

"He's writing a novel about this."

"Yes, so he's basically us when we were sophomores."

"Yeah."

"And they're all sophomores!

All of these hot, ab-tastic boys, they are all supposed to be fifteen, sixteen."

"Fifteen. Remember the boys that you met in high school who were fifteen.

If I remember correctly, most of the like, the fourteen, fifteen year old boys I remember

were shorter than me. And I'm 5'2."

"Oh god!" *laughter* "All of the boys at Riverdale have gone through puberty -" "They all were

hit by the same puberty truck?"

"Apparently. Everyone was hot by grade nine and Archie was the outlier, and now grade ten has rolled

around and oh, now Archie has joined the hotness club too!

This summer, the unthinkable happened.

There was a death." "In Riverdale!"

"In Riverdale...the town with Pep!"

"That's what it says on the sign!"

"Welcome to Riverdale, the town with Pep."

"It was funded by a rogue group of cheerleaders."

"From the fifties!"

"Cheryl Blossom and her brother Jason, they go out on their incest boat -" *Lindsay cackling*

"They don't say anything, but the subtext is so obvious.

Holy smokes."

"The boat date, the convertible..."

"Something happens and Jason dies."

"They never find the body."

"Dilton shows up in his boyscout shorts.

His only appearance! A non-speaking role!

He just shows up in a boyscout outfit with little binoculars, sees Cheryl drenched on

the shore like a Ring ghost."

*laughing*

"But it's always, it's always the boyscouts that find the bodies."

"Cheryl's like 'Jason died in a tragic accident!'

Then the whole town's out watching, and then a lady we later find out is Betty's Mom is

like 'I hope he suffered and he BURNS IN HELL.' Wow. Chill."

"Take about twenty percent off that."

"Jump ahead to Betty trying to get ready for her 'date', her friend date with Archie, Kevin

is there and he's just sitting there like 'So girl.

You gonna ride that tonight?'"

"Well, he was already established as the gay best friend character."

"Kevin has managed to be gayer here than in the comics.

They go to the Chocklit Shoppe -" "Pop's."

"Yeah! Betty and Archie, they go to Pop's Chocklit Shoppe.

Veronica shows up, freshly moved from New York because her dad got arrested."

"Embezzlement, apparently he's like...one of those Wallstreet guys like Bernie Madoff

or whatever."

"So Veronica walks in dressed in her all black with her pearls, comes in SLOW MOTION WITH

HER COAT BILLOWING BEHIND HER" "IT'S A CLOAK!"

"LIKE THE QUEEN OF THE VAMPIRES!"

"Dark lipstick and all."

"Meanwhile Betty is trying to talk to Archie about maybe becoming more than friends, and

Archie is just like 'uh-huh, uh-huh, ahhhh'."

"You can see right there, Betty is just going 'why am I even attracted to you'."

"Archie just, like, allows Veronica to ingratiate herself into the group, and she's like - she's

super nice!"

"Yeah!"

"Veronica's the nicest character on the show!"

"Yeah, and apparently Veronica's into Truman Capote." "Heavily."

"Yeah, which, you know what? Cool. I was a pretentious fifteen year old too.

I was reading Shogun."

"They jump ahead to the first day of school, Archie is trying to balance being on the football

team, helping out his dad at work, and becoming the music guy."

"Of the white guy with guitar..."

"Early 2000s Canadian folk."

"Yeah, it's not City and Colour.

I know you're trying to go for Dallas Green, but you're not Dallas Green."

"So first he goes to Josie of Josie and the Pussycats, and she immediately goes into beat

poetry mode, it's like - they didn't go for sassy."

"Slam poetry! There was an actual metre to it!"

"And then...what happened after that."

"There was the whole trying to talk to Ms. Grundy thing."

"Oh yeah."

*various disgusted noises*

"Archie banged Ms. Grundy. They did the do."

"It wasn't even a subtle, like, oh maybe they did, maybe they didn't? No.

She rolls up in her beetle like 'you need a ride in this heat?'"

"Wink."

"He's like 'uh, ok', and then immediately goes to them banging in the beetle.

And remember in the comics Ms. Grundy is an old school teacher!"

"I remember there was an episode of Archie's Weird Mysteries where all the adults got turned

into teenagers, and she got together with Reggie."

*sighs* "So there's precedent."

"Oh god! There is precedent!

But anyways, at first I was like okay, maybe she actually regrets the...statutory rape...but

then it comes out like, no, she doesn't wanna be seen with him because she doesn't want

people to find out they heard a gunshot on the day Jason died."

"Well there's also the fact that they were on a date."

"They were on a straight up picnic."

"So then Betty and Veronica were hanging out."

"Then Kevin storms in and Veronica's like 'oh thank god!

The homosexual is here!' That's almost exactly what she says!" "Yeah!

Well she's probably assuming everyone is boring, and coming from New York...anyway Kevin drops

in and does all that, then he drops the whole 'Oh!

You're Veronica Lodge!

I heard about your dad!' and Veronica's like...thanks."

"We find out Betty and Cheryl have beef because Betty's sister dated Cheryl's brother, and

it was badness." "Yeah, a lotta badness.

And of course, Cheryl's gotta be a big bitch about this -" "The biggest bitch!"

"You know, I'm just gonna say it, she seems like a psychopath.

She would so fit in with the cast of How To Get Away with Murder."

"Yeah, this show is basically How To Get Away With Gingers."

"Hah!

All the gingers."

"All the Gingers!

Veronica and Betty do some really shitty cheerleading and Cheryl's like 'I need fire' and Veronica's

like 'uh, well, me and Betty will now make out for your titillation!'"

"And Cheryl's like 'oh, that was so '94'. And Cheryl's sitting on a fucking throne!

They're not being subtle about the whole queen bee thing.

At least in Bring it On, like, the girls were sitting at a desk with shitty chairs."

"Cheryl's basically 'I'm rich, and my brother is dead, which means I am now the queen.

I have appointed myself god-empress of Riverdale'."

"'I am now Cersei Lannister without having to cut my hair'.

I'm pretty sure she did bone Jason, so she is effectively Cersei."

"Well and the whole Blossom family seems fucked up because later, at the semi-formal she's

like 'and now in memory of Jason, Josie and the Pussycats will now perform the song that

my parents were listening to when we were conceived."

*suppressed giggles*

"I don't know how people could dance to that!

If this were a normal high school thing, you would hear a record screech, SILENCE!"

"Can you believe that the kiss is not the gayest thing that Veronica does?

Because after that they get onto the Riverdale Cheer Squad and Veronica tenderly zips up

Betty's cheerleading outfit, and then she holds her by the shoulders and is like 'how

does it feel to be a vixen?'

She's totally in lesbians with Betty."

"Screw Archie!"

"They're emotionally fucking already.

What else happens at the dance?

Kevin barges in and runs up to Betty like 'hey guess what?

Moose has a big dick'.

And then runs away again."

"Yeah, so apparently Moose - he isn't out of the closet and he hasn't accepted the fact

that he's gay yet, but he's probably gay."

"I'm holding out for Bi Moose, too."

"After the dance there's the after party because Cheryl - she even has minions!

She has two girls dressed all in black winging her when she says 'I'm in the mood for chaos'."

"Cheryl's afterparty -" "Of course there's seven minutes in heaven." "Of course.

Veronica and Archie get stuck in the closet together."

"And instead of being normal people and awkwardly standing together playing whatever,

solitaire or something on their phones."

"To be fair, they try and just get to know each other, and Veronica spends - of the seven

minutes I think she spends six minutes and fifteen seconds trying to get Archie to get with Betty."

"And Archie's just like 'you're hot! Let's kiss'."

"And Veronica eventually gives in, and immediately regrets it."

"Which is actually good on her."

"Everything she does before the kiss and everything after is just with Betty's self-confidence

in mind, basically.

After that it ends pretty quickly.

Archie finds Betty and is like 'I can't love you the way you want me to!'

And then he finds Jughead sitting in a booth at pops and being emo with his novel."

"Trying to be so deep with his novel."

"He finds Jug being none more goth...the writing of that convo was so stilted,

I don't even know what they're talking about.

I think they're talking about their falling out, but it sounds like Jug also had a crush

on Archie?"

"So, yeah, in the end Kevin and Moose, they're trying to do the do.

They get out of the car, they're like 'let's start with Skinny Dipping' -" "And then Kevin

trips over a corpse.

He takes it pretty well!

*laughter*

He trips over him, and he's like 'oh my God, Jason, he's been shot!'

Whereas we'd be going" AAAAHHHH GOD!

"I hate when, y'know, I go out into the woods to have sex with a closeted guy and I trip

over a corpse."

*laughter* "So that's, that's pretty much the pilot, and over all I thought it was pretty good.

It was way better than people - way better than I thought it was gonna be."

"Yeah, not so melodramatic, trying to be How To Get Away with Murder."

"Yeah, is it like the Emmy-award winning newest -" "Oh god no.

This is trashy."

"But so far, really the main character is Veronica."

"Yeah! She's the one with personality and is actually doing stuff.

But yeah, this is not comic book Archie."

"It's not anything to write home about, but it's good.

It's fun. I'm excited to keep going.

We're gonna try and do these weekly recaps every week.

We're gonna try and do these weekly recaps weekly!

But yeah, that's...what happened...in a little town called Riverdale.

And we'll find out what happens with this weird mystery next week."

"Did'ja get it?"

"I got it." "It's a weird mystery!"

"I know." "Archie's Weird Mystery!"

"I know, I remember watching it." "Okay."

Blocking the path that's always been

The goal is no longer in sight,

But still, I'll continue to fight

'til not a single, regret is left within my heart!

So I'll call out to the moon!

'Cause I know my voice will reach you!

Those same bells ring once again,

the sun's about to set, on this day but

The end is just a new beginning!

Up here, I can see clearly,

The world, not through an iron cage

There's a blazing light of hope that's shining everyday!

Your fate and mine, have intertwined,

our hopes have become one and

we'll overcome reality…

That world of our dreams.

That perfect world you've dreamed of,

You're free to breathe and live your life

SHOT Show 2017 New FAL Options from DSA Firearms - Duration: 7:02.

Welcome to our continuing coverage of

SHOT show 2017. That's right, the Shooting

Hunting Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas

Nevada with almost 65,000 people in

attendance and thousands upon thousands

of brand-new products.

We're going to cover it throughout the

week with regular updates. So stay tuned.

Hi this is Joel Persinger. I'm the GunGuy.

Thank you very much for watching my

channel. I really, deeply appreciate it.

I'm out at SHOT show. This is the second

day here and trying to do videos with

everybody at this place is insane.

But we're having a great time cruising

around. DSA is a great company. We

stopped by to talk with them. They've got

some really cool new products.

I'm gonna let Mike talk about those a

little bit. I notice you have the gun

that doesn't have the special stuff on

it.

Absolutely. But I think you're going to

show me some special stuff on another one.

I am. We're going to start off by showing

the traditional FAL. This is a fixed

stock 21 inch model and as stock standard

as they come.

This is the rifle that's pretty much

made all over... was made all over the

world and all over the U.S. This is what a

lot of people built out of parts kits.

It's a stock standard configuration.

It's a great rifle. For people who aren't

familiar with the FAL, it's got a lot of

great features for the classic military

rifle. It has the last shot hold open on

the empty magazine, which is something

that the HK and the AK did not have.

It has a fully adjustable gas

regulator. A single shot gas plug, so

you can actually turn the rifle off for

single shot mode. It has a non

reciprocating left side charging handle.

You've got your bolt hold-open device

right here that closes the action.

It's got a centrally-located magazine

release that makes removing the magazine

easy. It's got a rock and lock design.

This is actually, unlike

a Mini 14 or something, this is a true

tried-and-true battle rifle. Absolutely.

In service for nearly 60 years.

Adopted at one point in time by

nearly 90 countries. Manufactured

by over a dozen of them. And chambered in

what? 7.62x51. .308.

Full 308 power. This is

affectionately known as the right arm of

the free world. The Cadillac of battle

rifles. So you've taken this and

you've made it better?

We have made it better. How have you done that?

We've done a number of things. I'm going

to set this bad boy down and I'm gonna

grab something that we're really proud

of. This is the exact same fundamental

rifle as the one that I was just showing,

but what's special about this is it has

gone through what we refer to as an

upgraded military package.

We have provided the parts and

accessories and upgrade pieces to

foreign countries that adopted the FAL

rifles

in order to take it from these

traditional configurations that are

behind us and turn it into a modern

firearm that they can use for today's

type of conflicts and engagements.

Ok, one of the things I like to do on

my channel is answer the why.

So we've made a lot of changes and

we've got rails and other things... The

biggest reason that people are

looking to upgrade the rifle is Optics.

That is one of the biggest reasons why

people want to take their rifle from these

into something and make it look like

this.

The ability to mount optics on it

whether it be scope or red dot. This

particular is a Meprolight. Very popular

in other parts of the world. And then

one of the other things that this rifle

has, is it has a full rail interface

handguard 1913 picatinny spec. This is a

load-bearing handguard. That means that

you can mount anything that you want to

it including lasers.... Regardless of

weight...

Laser designators,

M203 40-millimeter grenade launchers. I

want one of those! I'm in California. Can

I get one of those?

Grenade launcher? I'm not

familiar with your laws, but probably not.

I want you California politicians I want

you to see me hold this.

Haha! I can't do it in California, but I can do it

here. So there you are. I'm feeling so much better now.

I interrupted you. I'm sorry. It's really OK.

So, those are some of the

features that are included in the

upgrade package. One of the other big

features in that package is the fully

adjustable side folding stock. That is

extremely cool. That makes that package

nice and compact. Absolutely.

It shortens the whole thing up

substantially. One of the really nice

things about the FAL side folding

stock is it locks in place unlike Galil

stocks or some of the other stocks

out there. So its not gonna flop back

out. No, it is not going to flop

around and it also gives you the ability

to fire while folded. You can still get the trigger.

If you're coming out of a vehicle of any kind, you

don't have to worry about deploying the

shock in order to be able to effectively

fire this rifle right out of the gate.

One of the reasons I like this as much

as I do, is because first of all, with a

308 you can ring the gong pretty far out

there. With a 556 you're out to a certain

range, you're done and even if you get

something out there at some point it

loses a lot of energy and a lot of velocity.

When you're my age, I'm pushing 60, if

you don't have optics your screwed. You can't

see the impact. Right.

I'm not going

to make that long a shot

no matter what I'm doing.

So having the authority of a .308...

absolutely... and then the

ability to actually hit what you're

shooting at a distance because you can put

optics on it, to me is huge. And this scope

mount that's featured on this rifle is our

number one selling upgrade both here and

abroad. This is a universal scope

mount. It fits any FAL that was ever

produced, whether it be metric or inch

pattern. There are to very distinctive patterns

that were manufactured over the years.

Inch patterns are the Commonwealth guns,

the guns of the British Empire. Yeah, I've seen

a lot of them. This scope mount will work

on any of them. Its universal and requires no

modification of the receiver. Like I said,

number one selling upgrade. I gotta to tell

you, this has been one of my... not

with all the goodies, because I've never

seen that till today... but it has been one

of my favorite rifles for a very, very

long time. They're just absolutely bullet proof.

The balance of them; the weight to them,

even though they're a little bit heavier,

the the weight actually plays out on the

balance that works perfectly.

Once people get ahold of FAL, they generally

never... They never go back. Mike,

thank you very much for your time today. I

appreciate it. Please check out DSA. They do

do some great stuff. They have a lot of

terrific products. Whatever you do

have a great time and come back, because

we're going to have more interviews and

more stuff from SHOT show here in Las

Vegas as we go through the week.

Thank you again for watching. Have a

wonderful week and be safe.

【REACTION】モーニング娘。'17『モーニングみそ汁』(Morning Musume。'17[Morning Miso Soup]) 【星野花】 - Duration: 7:57.

Hello everyone! Hana here~

Today Morning Musume'17 has out of the blue uploaded a music video for 'Morning Misoshiru'

And today I am going to react to that music video

And this song 'Morning Misoshiru'

is actually a self cover

It's a self cover of the groups debut single 'Morning Coffee'

But because this new version has a tie-up with a CM

So match with the CM the song became 'Morning Misoshiru'

Also Maa-chan (Sato Masaki) is currently taking a break of the group because of health reasons

And when I heard that she won't appear in the next single

I was a little sad

But it seems that Maa-chan appears on this music video

So I'm looking forward to it

I want to see Maa-chan~

So let's check this music video!!

So cute!!

It looks like a sleepover

Maa-chan!!

Just by seeing Maa-chan I feel so happy

Everyone looks adorable

Haruka looks so cute~

Wait a minute, isn't the quality of this very high?

Nature~

I love nature so much

The new members!!

Maa-Chan!~

This campfire concept makes me think of the music video of 'Aruiteru'

MaaDuu~ (Masaki and Kudou)

Ah! Cute!!!

Everyone is eating miso soup ... Ah! Maa-Chan!

I feel so happy seeing Maa-chan

I love this kind of music video

The quality looks really high

Everyone is so cute~

Iikubo Haruna's hairstyle is suiting her so much

Cute~

The quality of this music video was so high

I'm surprised

And the sets look very beautiful

The concept is like a campfire in the middle of the nature right?

I like those kinds of concepts a lot

It made me remember the music video of 'Aruiteru'

You know, it made me remember that campfire at the end of the music video (of Aruiteru)

And it's so nice to see them smiling and having fun

'Morning Coffee' is such a good song

Oh wait, ' Morning Misoshiru'

'Morning Misoshiru' is such a good song :D

And Maa-chan appears~

She's so cute

And I am so happy to see her

Kaga Kaede and Yokoyama Reina appeared too and it was a curious feeling

Those two are very professional

And I think that they suit the group a lot

I like this lineup of Morning Musume with the 13 members

I want them to make more music videos like this

After all fans want to watch their idols' natural smile

And the next single has been announced too

Maa-chan isn't going to appear on the next single....

But health is very important

So I want her to rest until she's recovered

And when she's recovered I want her to comeback to the group~

The next single is also the debut single of the 13th generation members

And although it's unfortunate that Maa-chan isn't taking part

I am looking forward to the debut single of the 13th generation members

So It has been Hana, let's meet on a new video~

What Books Should I Give Away? - Duration: 2:23.

Hi Debbie Mack here and I think the microphone is working now so let's see how this goes.

I'm getting rid of some of my books which is tough since I love books so much and I'm

finding books that I forgot I even had in the process and I thought I would show you

some of those.

I have the complete Sherlock Holmes novels "A Study in Scarlet" and "The Sign of Four".

I forgot I had those.

And Ernest Hemingway, "A Farewell to Arms".

I think the most exciting thing I found of all was this book William Goldman's

"Adventures in the Screen Trade."

This one's a classic and I can't wait to read it because I don't think I read it the first

time when I got it ... so ... sorry about my hair hanging in my face but it's just so

exciting and I've been going through and looking through my books and making the tough decisions

about what to give away and what to keep.

It's really hard but when you have to at some point you have to let go of things and then

trying to give away books that other people will enjoy that I know I've enjoyed that don't

had sentimental value for me which that's tough because a lot of books do so.

Anyway, that's what I've been up to today.

It's Saturday and I'm trying to give away books.

It's a tough choice ... Anyway, that was it for now and I'll talk to you later.

How To Speak English Fluently - Duration: 3:50.

Hi guys!

Sometimes when we are learning a new language we don't think we have anything to say.

Or we do not feel confident about starting a conversation or answering questions.

I'm going to give you three suggestions on to be prepared to speak and these worked for

me when I went from only using English to in a short period of time only using another

language.

I moved to Thailand and I started working in a kitchen for an older Thai "Auntie" who

did not speak English.

It was my job to use her language to help learn how to make the food.

The first thing is make sure you have basic grammar and words for the things that interest

you.

There are so many words in every language but we use a limited number of them.

So focus on the words for the things you are going to do or the thing you are going to

study.

The second is don't be afraid of making a mistake even in front of a tough Thai chef

"Auntie".

The woman I learned from was called "Auntie Dham" and she did not smile very much.

She had a lot of food to prepare but she was willing to take me on as kind of an assistant

chef and teach me.

But everything she said to me was in rapid-fire Thai.

So I just focused on listening for the keywords in what she was telling me to do or how she

was explaining something.

I knew in time I would understand most of what she said, but in the meantime I knew

the words and I listened for the keywords.

The third thing was to not be afraid of making mistakes.

If I said something incorrectly, she or one of the other cooks would correct me and I

would make note of it.

I became a good student in terms of writing down in a notebook when I made a mistake.

I would get embarrassed a little bit and turn red in the face.

I was often red in the face because it was about 35 degrees Celsius in the kitchen but

that's OK.

I really wanted to immerse myself in a language, a culture and its food.

And so this idea of knowing the right words, listening for keywords, not being afraid to

make mistakes and then learn from them allowed me to be successful and later run my own kitchen

speaking only in Thai to the staff and running a cooking school as well.

So you can do it.

Just be prepared and study well and that way when someone says something to you in English,

your mind will not be (like) a blank piece of paper.

You'll be ready and evolve over time, knowing the words, listening for keywords and not

being afraid to make mistakes.

If it worked for me, it can work for you.

So I wish you a very good study (experience) and prepared and please follow these videos on how to speak.

They are about my 30 years of speaking experience in English and also my experiences being like

you; studying a foreign language and having to use it.

Safeopedia - How do you treat a Near Miss? - Duration: 2:49.

As safety professionals we may spend a

lot of her time trying to uncover unsafe

conditions and unsafe behaviors

that's the whole purpose of doing a

hazard assessment. Well there are two

events that can uncover these for us and

those are accidents and near misses.

Hi Bryan McWhorter here for Safeopedia, now let's

take a look at your misses. As I said

they provide an opportunity because they

uncover an condition or unsafe

behavior and unlike an accident no one

got hurt. So that near miss is somewhat

gold for us it's an unsafe condition or

behavior waving his hand getting our

attention. So the first step is make sure

that your employees take these events

serious as well. You want them reporting

them just like they would an accident

so you want them to see that these are

opportunities to keep themselves and

co-workers safe.

Okay, let's walk through how to treat a

near miss. First of all you want to treat

it just like you would an accident.

It's important to recognize that OSHA or

any safety management systems such as a

certification system like OHSAS 18001

they're going to want you to treat it

just like an accident and you have to

validate that you've captured

near misses and you've done full

investigations and put control measures in

place. So first of all capture the

near miss make sure that they're all

being reported. Log it, you know write the

event down. In the past when I was a

safety officer for a large manufacturing

factory I treated them the same as I

would an accident and i use the same forms I

would do my investigation collect

evidence and make sure control measures

put in place. So just follow that treat it

like it was an accident.

Now once you put your control measure

place you want to validate that is

actually working so set up a 30 60 and

90 day review. If there's a new guard put

in place you want to make sure that

employees haven't removed it. If you're

required new PPE again you want to make

sure that employees are actually using

the PPE. So you just need to validate

that control measure is in place and

effective. So, again, near misses they are

gold to us and that they've uncovered an

unsafe condition or an unsafe behavior

without anyone getting hurt. So these are

opportunities. If we're spending time

doing a hazard assessment looking for

unsafe conditions and behaviors that's kind

of nice to have them actually expose

themselves to us without injury.

How To Speak American English Without Fear - Duration: 5:15.

I like to talk about what to do in English if you are nervous in a conversation or when

you have to talk to people you don't know.

I use the guitar as an example because I perform concerts and play with other musicians.

Some of these other musicians are much better at playing the fancy parts on the guitar than

I am.

They have been playing a lot longer and they practice more.

And it can be the same for you in English.

Maybe you are speaking with a native speaker and they speak quickly and you have to try

and keep up.

What I would tell you is learn the very basics of English.

All the words that you need to know in the areas that interest you.

And then if you are nervous, you can acknowledge it.

We all can feel shy or be nervous.

I am by nature an introvert but I try to mask it or overcome it by performing - it helps

me get out of this shell that's safe for me and experience more things and that's been

the case for singing and playing guitar and speaking.

It is all a way for me to go outside of the little box that I live in and experience more

of the world.

And by speaking and singing and playing guitar even at this basic level, I've been able to

meet people who are very kind and charitable and want to encourage me.

In a situation where you are in front of people, remember in general they are cheering you

on or rooting (supporting) for you.

They want you to succeed.

They know that English is your second language.

And so look for someone in the crowd who is going to give you a positive reaction.

Look for that smile or their eyes open, not the guy focused on his smartphone or mobile

phone.

But takes that person's interest and direct this joy you have and what you want to say

to that person.

Also breathing deeply and kind of clenching your fists and releasing them and doing that

three times helps get rid of these kind of nerves.

It's called "stage fright" where the stage is where someone performs.

Many many famous performers who perform in front of thousands or ten thousands and hundreds

of thousands of people experience this "stage fright" whether its an actor or even musicians,

many of them admit they actually get sick before the performance but when they are out

there and they hear people cheering because they want to hear their favorite song or experience

it, they get energy from the crowd and they are no longer nervous, they can go and perform

and do what they love to do.

So that is my suggestion for you - look for somebody in the audience.

You can acknowledge that you are nervous and then go on.

It also helps to greet people when you are in a situation - acknowledge people and look

them in the eye and get them on your side.

Let them know why you are there.

You are there to give a speech, you are there to introduce yourself, you are there to work

with somebody.

Let them know you are brave enough to say "Hello!"

And they will appreciate that and that brings them to you as a supporter and someone who

is interested in you.

All of these techniques have worked for me for many years since I started trying to go

from being an introvert to an extrovert.

I still do like to spend time alone or with a limited number of people, but I also perform

because I like to play the songs I write and play along with other people who have similar

interests to me.

Those are the people I find I can have the most interesting conversations with.

So I would encourage you to do the same.

Acknowledge that you are nervous, reach out to the crowd and be prepared to learn from

them and remember, people are on your side, they want you to succeed in English so if

they correct you, if you say, "My father, she is very tall" and someone corrects you

in English that your father is a "he" or "him", it is a small mistake but you can learn from

it and thank that person for helping.

They do want to help you in general.

People are not out to get you or to punish you.

They want to help you.

So give yourself the opportunity to be helped by going out in public and speaking with people

and interacting and taking a risk.

It is very much worth the effort.

Thank you for watching these videos and please subscribe so I can teach you more.
