I'm not going to hold back!

Pulling ahead in the straights is low...

...but this is a time attack.

That 86 isn't going to be in my rearview mirror again!

What?! The gap is shortening?

His car's getting closer?

It's just my imagination...

No way could something that impossible happen.

What's happening?

I feel like I'm going insane!

To be caught by a less powerful car...

...is the biggest disgrace for a racer!

Damn it!

Damn it...

What's wrong?

Today of all days, the FD feels awfully slow!

Has the secondary turbine stopped spooling?!

It's a hairpin turn and he's not slowing down?

What's he thinking?!

What was that, just now?

Nightmare Forest: Alien Invasion - BoardGame.new() - Duration: 5:42.

Today we are reviewing a game sent to us by our friends at SolarFlare Games.

This is Nightmare Forest: Alien Invasion now on Kickstarter.

Before we get started, I just want y'all to know this is an early review copy so my

game is not going to be indicative to the quality of the game,

but it is going to show you how the game is played.

Nightmare Forest is under attack again, and this time we've gotta survive and fight off

a bunch of Aliens from outer space before it's too late.

(These folks really can't get a break can they? Who lives in this town?!)

Unlike the fend for yourself runner Nightmare Forest: Dead Run, Nightmare Forest: Alien

Invasion is a cooperative game that can be played with 1 to 6 players.

To setup this game, separate the 4 levels of forest cards and shuffle each of the decks.

Draw two cards from levels 1 through 3 and a single level 4 card for each player in the

game.

This will become your forest.

Shuffle the cards and lay out the forest as shown in the diagrams in the rule book.

Each player will then be given a player card, a Standee, the active

side face up, and a equipment card from the deck.

Deal each player 2 cards from the Ability deck.

Each player will then look at their abilities, discuss with the rest of the team and choose

the ability that they think will fit the team best.

After an ability is chosen, the players will take wound tokens equal to the health on their

ability card.

Each player will then place their character Standee outside the forest.

Characters are not allowed to occupy the same space during the setup of the game, so all

characters will need to enter the forest from different locations.

Finally, lay out the turn card and choose a difficulty.

An easy game will have 9 turns, normal game 8, and hard game 7.

Now, let's fight those aliens!

Every turn, all players will have an opportunity to take actions, using dice, to help clear

the forest.

It is not required for players to go in a specific order, and players don't have to

complete their turn before allowing another character to start acting.

There are four types of actions a player can take.

A player can clear a forest space, choosing a forest location adjacent to their current

location, flipping over the card and fighting the alien or dealing with whatever lies

underneath.

To fight an alien, the player will choose what weapons they want to use (if any) and

then roll dice (if necessary) for any remaining damage that needs to be dealt.

If a player deals damage equal to or greater than the alien's defense, then the alien gets

placed into the communal experience pile and the player gets one die back to their hand.

The player may then choose to move into the space for free.

(I'll chat about movement in just a second)

If two players are in the same space, they may choose to attack the alien together each

using weapons and die as they normally would.

Unlike attacking solo, any die used during a joint attack is lost.

If a fight against an alien fails, the alien will counter attack all players who fought

against them by rolling dice equal to their level and applying the damage to each player.

Besides aliens, the forest can contain other trials such as plasma mines and turrets which

will hurt all players surrounding the spaces where revealed.

As well as energy snares which can keep players from being able to move throughout the forest.

The forest isn't all bad though, you might just run into a hidden gear cache allowing

you to gain extra gear, or find a survivor who will provide you an additional ability

on your mission.

Another action a player can take is to move throughout the forest.

Very simply, a player may spend one die to move to any adjacent empty space in the forest.

If the player chooses to move diagonally, they may suffer an ambush attack.

For each card you pass in a diagonal movement, you will roll dice equal to it's level.

If you roll that many damage marks, then you will roll those dice again to determine damage

dealt to the player.

Once you've dealt with all ambush attacks, the players turn will proceed as usual.

A player can also choose to spend die to search for gear in the forest.

To search for gear, roll a die.

If it comes up with a single damage you get a single card.

If it comes up with double damage, you will get two cards from the equipment deck and

choose which one of those you want to keep.

The last possible action a player can take (outside of any actions provided by the players

ability cards) is to spend communal experience to reroll die, heal, or level up.

Each player can level up 3 times, each time gaining a +1 die token and being allowed to

roll additional die on their turns.

Once all players use their die and complete their actions for the turn, the turn token

will be moved down the turn board.

To win the game, all players must survive and the forest must be cleared of all aliens

(and alien technology).

If a player dies, or the turn mark reaches the skull, the town surrounding Nightmare

Forest is invaded by the alien forces.

So that's the game of Nightmare Forest: Alien Invasion.

Personally, I prefer this version of Nightmare Forest over Dead Run because I find this

game requires a bit more strategy.

Dead Run is a great way to learn the fight mechanic of this game, and that fight mechanic

translated beautifully into a game that has a bit more strategic depth.

It's particularly neat to watch these games build on each other. There is a promise

of a third game that will build even further with this mechanic.

In my play tests, the game ran a bit longer than I'd like but was still within the 50

minutes mentioned in the rules.

I can see that being pretty easy to change up by scaling the forest to different sizes

and setting the turn marker to a lower turn value.

If you're interested in seeing more about this game, check out the Kickstarter which

is live right now!

Before you go, we're currently raising money for some amazing charities.

All proceeds from these safety pin stickers will be split evenly amongst six charities

we think are doing amazing things.

Help us help others in a real and amazing way.

Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe this video.

I will see you next week Weirdlings. Goodbye

5 Days Of Personal Acceptance And Self-Confidence | Try Living With Lucie | Refinery29 - Duration: 7:05.

I'm Lucie Fink and this week is 5 Days of Self-Love.

Hey guys!

It's me, Lucie.

A little while back, my video team surprised me on set with Drew Barrymore.

Check it out!

Hi.

Hi, how are you?

Oh my god!

What is happening!

The makeup artist couldn't come so I came instead.

She was one of the sweetest, most free spirited, most self-confident people I had ever met

in my entire life.

And a few days after I had met her, I stumbled upon this quote of hers:

"I think happiness is what makes you pretty.

Period.

Happy people are beautiful.

They become like a mirror and they

reflect that happiness."

Self-love.

It's not always an easy thing to understand or to achieve.

Real, genuine self-love grows and accumulates over time when we actively take care of and

appreciate ourselves and do things to help us grow mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Each day this week, I'm going to do something different to help bolster and build that self-love.

Day one.

One of the most important ingredients to self-love is self-esteem.

Although it's a little awkward at first, standing in front of the mirror and reciting

affirmations is a great way to help build and grow that self-esteem.

I accept myself and love myself.

I radiate love and respect.

My mind is full of gratitude for my lovely and wonderful life.

I'm doing two other things today that are so closely tied to self-love: journaling and

meditating.

I journaled before and after work, making a list of things that I'm grateful for in

my life and sat right here on my bed after work, meditated for 20 minutes and got some

much needed Lucie time just thinking and breathing.

Today is all about practicing self-love by appreciating

and taking good care of your body.

I think one of the best ways to do that is to learn about

nutrition because knowledge is power.

Christy Harrison is the nutritionist I've been in touch with for previous episodes of

Try Living With Lucie from 5 Days on a Juice Cleanse to to 5 Days of Paleo, she's always

given her input and she's great.

Hi!

She came over to my apartment today and taught me her approach to having a peaceful relationship

with food: intuitive eating.

We're all born as intuitive eaters.

It's a very self-loving sort of practice.

It's tuning into your body, your hunger, and fullness cues

your desires for specific foods, your satisfaction, and using those to guide your food choices.

I'm thinking about what sounds good to me and not cutting out gluten or dairy or

sweets or any of the things that are sort of trendy to cut out right now.

With this diet culture, there's just...you don't know who to listen to or what's right.

I feel like the best thing I can do is just listen to myself.

Yeah!

So if I'm going to be intuitively eating for the rest of this week

you wouldn't actually tell me what to do.

You would just say, "Do what your body tellsyou."

Yeah.

So just open the fridge, see what you've got.

Right, see what you've got.

Honoring your hunger and your fullness and also what your body tells you.

Thanks Christy!

After speaking to her, I ate intuitively all day.

Today took me back in time to a place before the media told me what I should be eating

and how I should be feeling after I ate certain things.

Who knows, more than my body, when I'm hungry and when I'm full?

Nobody.

Even the people who tell you, "I have no regrets," have regrets.

Step three to garnering self-love is learning how to forgive yourself.

I know there are a ton of ways to clear your mind and eradicate those feelings of regret

but today I tried something new and fun.

A write and burn.

I listed out my top five regrets on small pieces of paper.

They're personal so I'm not going to share them aloud.

Folded them up, lit them on fire, and watched them burn away.

It was beautiful.

Of course I know this is not actually going to burn up and get rid of those thoughts forever

but this is definitely a great method to ease some of that anxiety and let go of some of

that burden.

I've heard that waking up and setting a clear intention or purpose for the day is

one of the keys to learning how to accept and love yourself.

This morning I woke up and wrote down three intentions.

Number one: be patient with yourself and others.

One of my biggest pet peeves?

Slow walkers in New York City.

Normally when I'm stuck behind them, this is how I feel.

Sir!

Excuse me!

Excuse me!!

Sir!

But in situations like that today, I just took a deep breath, smiled, breathed, and

let it go.

Like this.

Excuse me sir.

And that feels really great.

Number two: Don't say anything negative about yourself.

I think one of the times that we all do that is when we get a compliment and we deflect it.

It's almost like the moment someone says something nice to us, we need to shut it down

or else it gets really awkward.

Instead of doing something like this

I love that sweater!

Oh this? No.

I think it's like too shiny, right?

Rewind!

Do it like this.

I love that sweater!

Thank you!

Number three: have fun.

When was having fun the most fun?

When we were kids.

So to have fun, I went to my camera man's apartment and spent my whole afternoon playing

Nintendo 64.

I used to play these games every single day after school so it really brought me back.

I felt happy and carefree and you really feel a lot more love for yourself when you're

smiling, laughing, and not taking yourself too seriously.

First place!

After years of playing that game!

Happy Friday!

The last step to practicing self-love for me is...Drum roll please.

I love my job so much!

Treat yourself!

I started today by writing a list of some of the things I love most in this world and

then I preceded to do each and every one of them.

Here was my list.

Eat a huge bowl of fruity pebbles.

Read two chapters of a good book.

Take a hot bath.

Watch Modern Family.

Video chat with my twin sister.

Buy myself pizza.

Connect with the Instagram art community.

Eat cookies.

And do karaoke in the living room.

Those are some of the things I love doing and by actively allowing myself to enjoy and

indulge in some of the things I love, I was in turn, loving myself.

Now I want to know how you practice self-love.

Comment below letting me know what would be on your list and as always, let me know what

you want to see me try next time on Try Living With Lucie.

And if you want to send me pizza, just look up the Refinery29 address and just mail it over.

Thanks.

[#6] RM8, ГДЕ НОВЫЕ МОДЕЛИ??? PROJECT REPORT. 20 000 SUBS!!! - Duration: 10:14.

Hello, my dear viewers. I did not showed new models for a long time.

Frankly speaking, I have a lot projects in work. Some of them leaked at my video or Instagram account

So I decided to record this video to show my work in progress.

There is also a good date in January - I have reached 20000 subscribers!

Thank you for you subs, interest, comments, likes and dislikes.

Hope my videos are fun to watch, and inspire for your own creations

Or you can inspire and teach me with you comments and constructive critics!

In this video I will open my current projects and what you will see at my channel soon and very soon

My traditional "dish" is Toyota FJ 40-series

From first FJ40, then FJ45 with two body types and ICON versions

There is also a crawler version

Almost ready. Need some details to add before film it.

Drive with 1x XL, M motors for steering and winch.

Chassis is based on FJ40 chassis: standart FJ frame, with new axles with portal gearing

Of course no servo motor, because it use M motor now

More details later. I did some snow test. And it worked well, especially with BuWizz!

Tires are custom from RC model, not LEGO

This is stock FJ40, but with custom (not LEGO) 74 mm tires

And this tires touch wheelarches and chassis. This is bad

That's why I am trying to do new axles with portal gearing (inspired by ZBLJ)

This make possible larger tire with less transmission stress, and more groung clearance

Hope this new axles can easily change stock axles^ without modifiying frame

FJ45 Pickup

This is not the same as in my old video with snow plow.

Better durability - in LEGO this means less gears, and lighter weight

I have to remove weak 2 speed gearbox, and remake suspension.

Now it is very close to FJ40 stock short base chassis.

And the most succesfull improvement here is new battery box placement

Because of long wheelbase, it was possible to place small (AAA) battery box right in the middle of chassis

So the cargo compartment is free of battery box now!

Toyota FJ 45 Troop carrier

The same long base as pickup with wagoon body

It is so black - I need to move to the side to make it visible

Battery comaprtment is also hidden in the frame, under the front seats.

So only thing you need to place in the saloon is IR reciever or Smart Brick, which is preferrable here

I am happy, when find such succesful ideas, like with battery box:)))

Black and chrome is cool. FJ ask for Luxury! more Luxury improvements here) right?

ICON that is ready. And instruction is aslo ready, but....

May be share it at LEGO ideas? Would you vote for it?

This is extra length FJ43 Baja version, not ready yet

Almost the same, but with another suspension

Rear is 4 link without panhard, and front is lifted half stud

Long wheelbase need more clearance for good offroad performance

Working with Hilux was not limited with this custom beast

As you can see from my instagram (link below), I did stock version also

Modified body/cab, new doors, fenders and another chassis

Chassis is stock-like without lift: 4x4 with axle differentials

Based on FJ40, but improved front axle and improved link steering mechanism

This is stock 1984-1988 hilux, which was not killed by Jeremy Clarkson, Top Gear

This one with Xtra cab in black was filmed in "Back to the Future"

Small wheels and stock chassis. But model have cool thing

It is modular

This was idea from the start

I can easily remove cargo compartment and cab with just some pins. I really missed this in FJ40

Before release it, I want to build one more version

And there is something more about this model...

First generation Toyota 4Runner, which was based on this Hilux

This old not finished moc. Truggy Hilux should have been finished long before this

It is very strong, even with large tires and without portal gearings

Reason is light - weight . Chassis was based on Jackson's chassis.

But steereing system is mine. And it is too wobbly. Too many backlash

This is really big problem

Front axle is fixed not strong enough

And steering system is also have backlash because of geraings and worm gear.

Total backlash is huge. Too huge to drive this model thru obstacles...

see this:((((

To solve this I need to put servo motor right on the front axle or...

or add linear actuator to axle as power steering element

I will leave it ...may be I can find time for it later...

2 small sport cars

Both based on RC buggy motors

Rear wheel drive, very fast!

They have some visible differences...

But there is also a difference inside

I will tell more in special video

Another small model - Toyota LEVIN AE86 "Hachi-Roku". Drifter's JDM dream

Model is finished. Need time to make video...

This is "civil" model with L motor (no RC this time). Drive slow and safe)

No fast driving

But I am not rm8, if I will not pimp it up!

Stage 1 - Buggy motor-charged!

And this one will be faster than previous!

This projects frozen...

Drift chassis with nice 3D printed wheels from sevenbrick, FJ cruiser and big AE86

It asks for more space to drive. So we are waiting for asphalt, spring, summer...

No new LEGO sets yet...so I am going to review this nice creator and ideas sets

But arriving of 2017 Technic can change my plans)

I already built one...

Cool thing:)

May this will be the first)

I did not reviewed Xerion from 2016 yet

no need for this, but I can do express review with more accent to Tires

Epic Madoca's model - Shaman 8x8!!!

With white-blue МЧС (911) livery

I would like to make express review of it, and add some real footage!

Yes, we've been at Avtoros factory not far from Moscow with Desert Eagle and Madoca alive)

That was my projects report video. Hope this will organize me to finish all of them faster!

Bye!

No, I also have something to tell you

It is idea that I want to share with you and listen to your feedback

Current channel is not good for sharing videos with tutorials and short live movies with "poor montage".

Sometimes I want to filme short and fast videos without much time spent on videoediting

I mean videos where I talk much and share my experince in LEGO Technic.

And express reviews

So I am thiking of second channel for such "fast" content, which can create more often

I can't promise english subtitles, because don't have enough time for it.

For example this video takes about 2 hours to make english subtitles for me. So it ir really hard to make..

So leave your feedback about idea of 2nd channel below

That's all. Bye!

Men's Dress Shirt Styles - How To Choose the Perfect Collar, Placket, Cuff & Fit - Duration: 12:35.

Welcome back to the Gentleman's Gazette!

In today's video, we discuss shirt styles such as the collar, the placket, the fit,

and anything else that goes into a shirt.

With the

recent popularity of made to measure shirts and custom shirts online and offline, you

get lots of options.

Now that can be a blessing or a curse, depending on what you need and what you don't.

First of all, a shirt has to fit properly and oftentimes, you're confronted with different

terms such as classic fit, standard fit, slim fit, trim fit, modern fit, so what exactly

does that mean?

First of all, the shirts that your father or grandfather wore was probably a classic

fit.

The primary goal of the classic fit is comfort so you'll have more space in the chest, you'll

have wider sleeves.

Overall, it's a roomier cut with excess fabric.

The idea is that it gives you mobility but when you tuck in your shirt, you have some

hang over.

It's not the most attractive of styles.

For that reason, it's not very popular with modern young men who want a more trim silhouette.

In response to that, the so-called slim fit was created.

Basically, everything on the shirt is slimmed down.

The torso is slimmed down sometimes with the use of darts in the back.

The chest is smaller, the shoulder width is smaller, and oftentimes, also the sleeves

are much slimmer.

The problem encountered with slim fit shirts is oftentimes just everything is made slimmer

without giving thought to mobility.

For example, if your shirts are too slim, you can't actually move anymore and actually

constricts your movement.

That's actually terrible and even in a slim fit shirt, you should still be able to move

around freely.

Therefore, the modern fit or contemporary fit was introduced which is somewhere between

the classic fit and the slim fit.

It usually features a slightly tapered silhouette, sometimes has darts, sometimes not.

It is an attractive look but it doesn't compromise comfort and mobility.

Personally, this modern contemporary fit is my favorite because it combines the best of

both worlds.

Now sometimes, you may also come across something called the super skinny fit and that just

means that everything is tight.

The problem is that it's so tight that you easily get wrinkles all over the place and

it's not just uncomfortable but it also looks bad and you should avoid it at all costs.

Once you've determined what fit is right for you, it's time to choose the details in the

shirt.

First of all, let's look at the placket styles.

The placket is the material on a shirt front that's underneath the buttons.

Right here, you can see the so-called traditional front placket which is an additional piece

of fabric strip that is sewn onto the top.

It creates great symmetry, it's therefore very popular for a classic shirt.

It's also called American placket and it's definitely the most conventional style so

even on less expensive dress shirts, this is probably what you'll encounter at least

in the US.

The other very popular placket style is the so called French placket as you can see here

on a checked shirt.

Unlike the Amercian placket, it's simply a flat, smooth edge that's folded over and sewn.

Once buttoned, it creates a clean, nice silhouette and personally, I like it a lot.

For summer shirts or pop-over shirts, you'll often encounter the 3/4 placket which means

the placket doesn't go all the way down and it's more like a polo shirt, just very deep.

You have to pop them over your head to put them on therefore, they're merely good for

casual, outside events or the beach.

Another placket style you usually see in evening wear is the fly front placket.

It's called that way because the buttons are hidden with an additional piece of fabric

and personally, I don't like it at all.

When I wear a tuxedo, I use shirt studs because they're decorative.

For dress shirts, I wear a traditional placket or French placket.

Some people like that hidden fly placket, if you do, you can wear it otherwise, I suggest

stay clear and go with classic options like French or American placket.

Next up, let's discuss collars because the collar is probably the most visible part of

the shirt especially if you wear jackets.

The purpose of the shirt collar is to flatter your face.

In order to do so, it has to be in harmony with the V-line created by your jacket and

the upside down V created by your collar.

Ideally, if you have an oval face, you want something that's slightly more spread to balance

it out.

If you have an oval face and you take a collar that's very pointed down, you just elongate

the loook of your face and it's not flattering anymore.

On the other hand, if you have a quite round face or horizontal face and you use a widespread

collar, the width of your face is even more accentuated.

In those cases, you should choose a collar with points that face more down.

Probably one of the most popular collars today is the spread collar.

It's called that way because it has a certain spread and it's used for dress shirts and

casual shirts alike.

It works with or without a tie and it's quite versatile unless you have a very wide face.

In that case, I would stay clear of them.

The other popular collar style seen today especially in the US is the so-called button

down collar.

It's particularly popular for the oxford cloth button down collar shirt.

If you want to learn more about this specific style, please check out our in-depth guide

here.

The hallmark of a good button-down collar is that so-called collar roll or the S-curve

which is achieved by having extra material between the button and the top of your collar

and it just creates a nice curve roll.

Apart from the classic button-down collar, you can now find the so-called under button-down

collars.

There's simply a button placed underneath the collar so it's invisible.

It has the same function to keep your collar in place, at the same time, the collar can

be very soft and it looks like a regular collar and you have that added comfort.

The classic collar is called that way because that's probably what your grandpa wore.

It's a collar that is not too spread, tips are not too long but not too short and overall,

it's a very unexciting collar but it works well with a four-in-hand tie knot.

To learn how to tie this knot, please check out our video here.

In recent years, smaller collars have become very popular but most of the time, they're

not very flattering especially if you wear a tie or a bow tie, it simply looks like a

child collar or like a shirt that was handed down to you from your older brother.

If you really want to, you can wear a small collar with denim shirts or casual pants like

khakis but please do not wear it with a suit or any form of neckwear.

For evening wear such as white tie tailcoat and tuxedo, men would traditionally wear a

detachable wing collar as you can see here.

Now, that's a rather stiff collar and it's hard to find these shirts anymore today because

it's a separate piece and the idea was that you were able to wash it separately but today,

most men find it to be a lot more complicated.

As a consequence, shirts with this kind of collar usually come with an attached collar

or most of the time, men actually prefer a softer collar with their tuxedo because that's

what the Duke of Windsor introduced in the 30's.

He wanted everything to be soft therefore, with tuxedos today, it' perfectly accurate

to wear a turndown collar shirt in white that is a soft collar and you don't have to go

with those attachable ones.

Another collar that's not very popular in the Western hemisphere is the so-called mao

collar.

It's simply a short, stand up collar.

It's very easy to tailor and it's sometimes worn in combination with the Nehru jacket.

To learn more about the jacket, you can check out this guide.

Overall, I really dislike the look of the mao collar.

If you like the style, go for it.

Another collar that I like a lot is the so-called club collar.

It has rounded ends so you're not going to have a collar tip but they're just rounded.

If you like to wear collar bars, you want this club collar with a pinhole so you can

actually wear it comfortably and it elevates your tie knot.

It creates a really debonair look.

To learn more about collar pins and clips, and bars, please check out this video here.

Another collar I'm quite fond of is the medium spread collar , which I'm wearing here right

now.

It's basically not classic but not too spread.

It's kind of in between.

I chose to go with rather long points simply for a different look.

Not all medium spread collar have points that are long but the advantage of going with a

made to measure shirt is that you can really choose and design your very own collars according

to your very own wishes and design ideas.

A collar that was quite popular in the 90's, you saw it in movies like Wall Street, was

the so-called tab collar.

The little tabs on the collar elevate your tie in a similar fashion to a collar clip.

A very popular style lately has been the so-called extreme cutaway collar.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of it because it's just cut away so far, you cannot really

wear a neckwear that looks flattering.

Because of the widespread, your tie knot has to be extremely big or you see the band of

the tie and it just looks odd.

Maybe you can get away by tying a double Windsor and you can learn in this video how to do

that.

Next up let's discuss shirt cuff styles.

The most traditional dress shirt cuffs are French cuffs or double cuffs.

They're folded over and fastened with cufflinks.

Today, most dress shirts come with so-called barrel cuffs or button cuffs and they feature

one, two, or three buttons.

One or two is more traditional, three is a little more contemporary.

A combination of those two styles is the so-called James Bond cuff because it is actually buttone

but folded over.

It's also known as the cocktail cuff.

Apart from that, you can have straight cut cuffs, or slightly angled ones, or rounded

ones, but apart from these three basic styles, there's not a whole lot of variety in that

department.

Personally, I think with a suit, a French cuff shirt with cuff links is better.

For a casual shirt, you can go with button cuffs.

Most traditional shirts have a hem that is longer in the front and at the back and cut

up in the middle so you don't have excess bunching of fabric.

You want your shirt to be much longer especially in the back because you don't want it to come

untucked.

If you want to wear your shirts casually and not tuck them in, go with a straight lined

hem because the long ends look unflattering if you don't tuck them in.

Okay, now let's take a look at the back of the shirts.

Traditionally, you can find a so-called split yoke in the back which originally was there

to compensate for sloping shoulders.

Today, it's simply a detail that helps in matching the patterns and the sleeves more

easily.

It doesn't really add value unless it's a true custom shirt where they adapt it to your

shoulders.

In terms of pleats, traditional shirts oftentimes feature a center pleat down the middle.

It's like a box pleat that gives you more room.

Alternatively, you can have these side pleats which give you a little more room when you

move your arms or sometimes there are no pleats at all.

Personally, I like the idea of greater mobility that's why I usually choose some side pleats

or no pleats at all.

I'm not a big fan of the box pleat because there's just too much fabric.

If you choose to go with a contrasting collar or contrasting cuffs, I suggest you stick

to white, it's very classic and it usually gives the shirt a more formal look.

😈 UNPOPULAR OPINIONS BOOK TAG 😈 | Drinking By My Shelf - Duration: 4:53.

Hello! Welcome back to Drinking By My Shelf

My name is Emma and today I'm going to be doing

the Unpopular Opinions tag.

I just realised that I should probably be sipping on tea

in this video but it's too late for that

so I'm just sipping on water.

And yes, if you're wondering. I did film this

immediately after yesterday's video but

I put on a cardigan so it looks like a

different day. It's all about keeping the mystery alive.

I got you. I was not tagged in this video

but it looks fun so I'm gonna do it anyway

because i like pissing people off

So I'm going to tag some people at the end, probably

or just consider yourself all tagged, I haven't

decided yet. Question number one: name a

popular book or series that you did not

like. The Wrath and The Dawn. Every one

fuckin' loves it. I thought it was bad.

Also Lord of the Rings. It was long and shit, wasn't it?

Did people really like it? I didn't like the movies either.

Question number 2: Name a popular book

or series that everyone seems to hate

that you love. People don't hate them but

they arevery harsh about it.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

It's like the best one. I mean it's the second best

one because Order of the Phoenix is

obviously the greatest . But everyone's always like

"you can skip that one, it's the worst one"

It's not! It's fucking excellent.

I love the book, I love that movie version,

I love the snakes and the spiders, it's a fucking

beautiful story, I don't know what

everyone's problem is. And Gilderoy

Lockhart! I mean, it's a work of genius.

Question three: a love triangle where the

character ends up with the one that you

didn't want them to end up with.

It does say in the question to warn people for

spoilers, so here's your warning: I'm about

to spoil Twilight for you, but I think you

probably got it at this point.

Edward and Bella!

No! Their relationship was so stupid

and poncey and boring and toxic and

he was a vampire and he wanted to kill her

and they didn't really say anything to each

other. I loved Jacob. I fancied him

even on paper, even before I saw that Taylor Lautner

was going to be him. I remember

reading New Moon in the bath and being

like ooh it's getting a little steamy

in here (probably from the steam from the bath)

but I loved him. And he loved her for real!

Like friendship that turned into love

You can't beat that old chestnut

Whereas Edward and Bella

was like weird magical love.

And then at the end Jacob turned into weird

magical incest love and I hated that as well.

I used to have a t-shirt — I've still got that

t-shirt, who am I kidding — it said Team Jacob

on the back, and on the front it says

'The Cullens don't come here' which I thought was funny

cause it was on my boobs, and like, they don't *come* here

That's a dirty joke. And I wore it

to a midnight screening of — I think all

of the midnight Twilight films that I

went to

So, that's how I feel about that whole

situation. Question four: a popular -

what's the question? A popular genre that you

hardly reach for. Um, fantasy. I don't

really like fantasy, and people love it

on booktube especially, I swear it's like the most

popular one. Question number five: a beloved

character that you do not like. Snape.

Why has everyone decided to like Snape?

He was an arse! Like I know he turned out not to

be a total villain, but like he was still an arse.

He was still abusive. The whole reasoning

that it was just because he loved Lily makes him

even creepier in my mind. Oh he's just a

nice guy who didn't deserve to be friendzoned

by Lily, that's just bullshit. I do not like

that guy. And then in Cursed Child, they made

him into this like super idealised version of

him that fits the kind of fan vision

So then I was reading that and I was like, well of course

I like him now, but that's not what he was like

in the book. He was not a good guy, he

just wasn'tt like Voldemort-evil. He was

still a bad person.

Don't come at me with your whole Snape

obsession because i hate it.

Question number six: a popular author that you can't seem

to get into. Shakespeare? Question seven:

a popular book trope that you're tired of seeing.

Heteronormativity. Question number eight:

a series that you have no interest in

reading. A Song of Ice and Fire. People keep

telling me to read it. i'm not going to read

it. I'm not watching Game of Thrones

either.

I don't like that kind of shit. I don't

like action, I don't like gore, I don't like

fantasy or dragons or kings and queens ruling

kingdoms, like I'm not interested in any

of that. So stop recommending it to me.

I also can't really think of a series that I am

interested in reading, which is a shame because I

love the idea of getting into a series.

Like I loved reading Harry Potter, I love

that you get super into the characters

that's great, but most of the popular

series are fantasy and I don't

want those. I mean, is Harry Potter fantasy?

I guess Harry Potter's fantasy. I'm just talking

shit, aren't I?

And then finally question 9: which movie

or TV show is better than the book?

None of them. This does not exist. Nope, not

even that one. Don't say it. Nope.

Not that one either. That one, I know what you're thinking but

no the book was still better.

So there's all my unpopular opinions

sorry to all my new enemies. Leave me a coment

below telling me how much you fucking hate

me now, that's fine, but while you're at it

give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to this channel

for new videos every Thursday and Friday. See you next time!

Bath & Bodyworks Haul - Acquisti Bath & Bodyworks| Giugizu - Duration: 8:09.

>> Hi ya'll and welcome or welcome back to my channel

in case you don't know me I'm Giuliana and I upload new videos every monday and friday

so if you haven't yet subscribe in order not to miss any of them!

That said let's get to today's video, which - as you may guess from the title - it's a Bath & Bodyworks haul

In case you don't know this brand I give you some basic infos

it's an american brand that produces fragrances, candles and body products, like creams, hand santizers

shower gel and it's from the same family of Victoria Secrets

and until last year it was basically impossible to find it, not only in Italy, but in Europe too

but now I'm glad to say that finally 2 stores opened in Italy, one is in Milan

and the other one is inside the "il Centro" mall in Arese, the same mall when you can find Primark too.

The peculiarity of Bath & Bodyworks is that they have some amazing fragrances

and every time I travelled to the U.S. I filled my luggage of candles and shower gels

which, as you may guess, is a bit of a problem, as my luggages ended up being super heavy

That's why I was really excited to find out that

we now have 2 stores in Italy.

so I drove to Arese to visit the store and I ended up buying a few things

because if you know me you are aware of the fact that I do love me some shopping spreas

That said I have to tell you that if compared with the American Bath & Bodyworks stores

in the italian one there were a lot less products available, less frangrances and to my great sadness

a lot less candles too

Inspite of that I managed to buy a ton of stuff

so let's start with this Bath & Bodyworks haul!

Let's start with candles, there were only 4 or 5 available

and I bought the majority of them

The first one I got is the sweet pea one

that I think is one of their best selling fragrances if I'm not wrong

It's fresh, it reminds me of cotton in some ways, even if it's sweet pea scented apparently

Anyway I got the majority of them in the large size, with 3 wicks

as I want them to last as long as possible

and the peculiarity of these candles is that they smell amazing

Then what else have I got? The fresh cut Lilacs one

amazing

Then, let's see what else I have

This is the Mahogany Teakwood one, which is quite woody

a lot more complex and elegant too, less fresh, a bit more intense

I really love these big, plain jars by the way

they're a bit different from the ones you get in the U.S.

Then...

in this smaller jar I have the sea island cotton candle

that actually smells of fresh laundry and sea breeze, amazing!

There were a few more

but I think I have a good amount here

Let's see what else I got

I have 2 hand soaps

I love Bath & Bodyworks hand soaps because they always smell heavenly

I got the frosted cranberry one, which belongs to their winter line

just like this one, which is the snow kissed citrus

This one is really citrusy, as it's lemon based

but it's really sweet and fresh too

and inside it has some ...

tiny grains that have a gentle exfoliating action too

while the cranberry one

Gosh I can never remember what's the translation in italian

currant maybe?

anyway this is very fresh and lovely too

but this time there are no grains inside and it's a lot more foamy

and it's not exfoliating.

Then I have a body scrub, I never tried a Bath & Bodyworks scrub before, so I got this one because

I was intrigued by the glitters inside, let's see if I can show you

it leaves some glitters on your skin while it exfoliates, I like the texture and

the fragrance is Vanilla Bean Noel, so it smells of sweet vanilla

yep, it's really sweet and I think there's actually sugar inside

This is interesting and I can't wait to try it out.

I also got...

a body lotion in the fragrance mad about you

with vitamin E and karitè, let's smell it

mmmm, it's really hard to describe

it's floral and I guess it also from the packaging

but I don't know much more, oh this is their signature collection

and always from this Mad about you line I got the shower gel too

once again with vitamin E and karité

and we almost reached the end ...incredible

here we are, always from the Mad about you line I bought the body mist too

which is a light fragrance, less intense than a cologne or a perfume

Et voilà, those were my Bath & Bodyworks purchases

if you happen to visit Milan or Arese go check it out and ...

sniff? smell? I don't know where I'm going with that...

Go test their fragrances, because they're worth a try

If you enjoyed this video don't forget to give to a thumbs up

share and favourite it if you wish

and of course if you haven't yet subscribe to my channel in order not to miss any new video

Ok, that's really it for today

I remind you that on my blog you'll find more infos about where you can buy Bath & Bodyworks in Italy

together with the list of the products I bought

That's all, I send you a big kiss, while I eat my own hair

and I'll see you in my next one, ciao!

4 Terrifying TRUE Horror Stories featuring Demonic and Dark Entities - Duration: 35:56.

About a year ago, my sister and her boyfriend move into a new house in the South of Wales.

After the terrible things that happened in that place, I looked into the history of the

building.

There was no known ominous past.

It was clean - ordinary.

Which makes the events that I am about to describe all the more horrifying.

For a while after they moved in all was quiet.

Admittedly, the property did feel strange in itself, but we all dismissed that… that

was until the occurrences began to happen.

It initially began when my sister claimed her deceased boyfriend was near.

Her previous boyfriend had died in early 2013.

The loss had affected both of our families heavily, especially my sister.

When she said that she felt his presence, she told us that his spirit was there to protect

her…

To protect her from the darkness that lurked in that house.

It was after that that things got bad.

My sister told me that one day, upon entering the house, that it was like someone, or something,

was in the doorway preventing her from getting past.

Almost like she was not wanted in that place.

She and her boyfriend began seeing scratch marks and blood stains on the walls.

Only for them to disappear, mysteriously by themselves, after a few days.

On one occasion, my sister even found a wrench covered in blood.

But that too turned up clean a few days later.

They could not explain what was happening.

By this point, both her and her boyfriend were very afraid.

One evening I was ushered down with my mother and stepfather because the police had been

called to the house.

When we got there, we were told that my sister's friend had seen a body in the attic.

It had been rolled in inside of a mattress.

Yet, when the police arrived, there was no body and no mattress.

My sister was in hysterics, wildly throwing around accusations of murder, screeching that

it could have been her own dead body wrapped up in that mattress.

She was terrified for her life.

After her outburst, the police questioned my sister's mental state.

She underwent a mental examination the following week, which found her to be perfectly healthy.

Besides, she had not been the only one to see and experience these things in that house.

It was like whatever dwelled there was tormenting her.

They moved out not long afterwards.

We found out from a friend of hers that since then no one has stayed in that house for more

than a few months.

In the months that followed, I began to wonder whether or not my sister truly felt her late-boyfriend's

spirit there… or whether that dark entity had pretended to be him, so that she would

open herself up and in doing so become more vulnerable.

Recently, a planchette from a Ouija board was left on the doorstep of her new house.

My sister never used a board, and didn't even know what the planchette was until my

grandmother told her.

She discarded of the thing immediately.

Where it came from or how it got there is unknown.

I doubt you will get the chance to read this, but if you do and decide to use this in a

video, please do not use my name.

I won't bore you with all the small experiences I have had since I was a small child, both

angelic and demonic, but I will share something that, to this day, still haunts me.

It was the day that I learned curiousity does indeed kill the cat.

I have always had a slight interest in the paranormal, ever since I had my first few

inexplicable experiences, from dark entities calling my name; to hearing deep, cold breaths;

to even a gentle humming from a voice which I can only describe as as beautiful as Mother

Mary herself.

But, I guess you could say that I started getting more interested when I was about thirteen

years old.

I loved watching series about demons and ghosts on TV, especially A Haunting when they use

to show it on the Discovery Channel.

I enjoyed the thrill of being scared from it.

Call me odd, but I liked it when my imagination would scare me at night after watching these

shows.

Anyway, as I became more and more interested in the paranormal, I began watching a lot

of shows on demons.

It was then that I encountered demonology for the first time.

My curiosity was piqued.

After this, I started researching on my own, especially about exorcisms and demonic possession.

First, it was just small Wikipedia glances, but as time went on it grew into hours of

research.

Within a year, I was researching this stuff for around three hours on weekdays (what with

school and all that), and on weekends, I would spend up to six hours dedicated to my research.

By the end of it, I knew more about the Rites of Exorcism than was healthy for any teenager

to know.

However, my interest was far from sated.

The more I read, the more I wanted to read.

What had started as curiosity had slowly morphed into an obsession.

I was being seduced by the knowledge of something which was way beyond my comprehension.

It started going bad for me when I delved deeper into demonology, specifically, the

names of demons.

It was the names of certain demons that enticed me the most, mainly those within archdemon

reigns.

Names of pure evil which I dare not say even here.

During those times, I noticed strange things starting to happen.

I started getting less peaceful sleep, my mind clogged with horrific thoughts and utterly

violent images that weren't my own.

It is a difficult feeling to describe, feeling so completely drained of energy, my mind numbed,

yet preoccupied.

After more time passed, the intensity of my experiences increased.

Things within my room would move of their own accord.

I would heard odd sounds that nobody else did.

But, most terrifying of all, I felt as though a great darkness followed me.

The feeling of being watched was constant, even as I slept.

And I was not imagining this: I knew that something was watching me.

However, this only added to my curiosity.

So, I started researching how to contact demonic entities.

You know how they say that you should never mention the name of a demon out loud because

it will grant them entrance into your life?

Well, I broke that rule.

Too many times.

I just wanted to see what they really looked like, instead of them lurking in the shadows.

I tried contacting them, saying their names out loud, inviting them into my life.

Even at the time, I knew that this was going too far, that I was playing with fire.

But, oddly, I still wanted more.

For three years, this went on.

By now the feeling of being watched had intensified to the point that not a moment passed where

I was truly alone.

An ever-present darkness haunted each and every action.

In hindsight, I believe they were just waiting.

Not in the style of "you are not yet ready" but like that of an apex predator ready to

make their kill: they can see you, but you cannot see them, yet you feel them watching

you and waiting.

They wanted to catch me when I was off guard.

The first time I actually saw one of these entities was, surprisingly enough, inside

of a chapel.

It was in shadow form, but, as strange as it may be to hear, I knew it was a demonic

entity.

For those of you who have never encountered such a being, it is difficult for me to explain.

The best way of describing it is that you just know.

Every single cell in your body just knows and you know you cannot deny it.

I was being hunted.

Even after I stopped researching, they remained.

I had opened the door and invited them into my life, and that - I learnt - is a one way

door.

Because of this, I constantly felt dread.

Yet, I also felt utter hate, as dark thoughts uncontrollably oppressed my mind.

It was like they were trying to separate me from who I was.

I wanted it to stop, I wanted to quit, but it was as if these beings kept forcing me

to suffer because I was responsible for what I was going through - and I knew it was true.

Never did I actually speak to one of these things.

And for that, I am endlessly grateful.

Eventually, with time, their grip on me began to slacken.

I met a nice girl and I established a friendship with an ordained exorcist in my diocese.

Between the two of them, the darkness began to lift: I was able to smile again and feel

happy.

Ten years have passed since that time, and the curiosity has not returned nor has the

oppressive presence that once plagued me.

Yet, even to this day, odd things do occasionally still happen.

There are still times when I can feel eyes watching me.

It is rare and when it happens they feel distant, but those demonic eyes remain all the same.

Watching me, waiting for something to happen.

Although I cut my binds to those demons, they do not accept it as true to an agreement once

made when I was naive.

I do know one thing though for sure: never again will I try to dabble with something

that possesses powers beyond any comprehension the human mind is capable of.

If anything, now I use what I know as a warning.

There really are some things that are not meant for us mortals to understand, no matter

how much information there is about it.

Ultimately, the unknown is best left as the name states: unknown.

When I was about 10 years of age my brother and I lived with our great-grandparents in

a house in the country.

My mother rarely visited us, so each time she did we were pleased to see her.

However, her trip was coming to an end, and she had just let us know that she would be

leaving without us again.

I was very depressed.

I was sitting on the edge of the queen-size bed in the master bedroom of the house, when

I heard a voice.

"Hello?

Is there anyone there?"

Thinking that it was a visitor of my mother's in the living room, I answer, "Yes, I'm

in this room."

The voice said, "Can you help me?

Can you come in front of me?"

I said sure, stood up, and began to walk to the door that connected the bedroom with the

living room.

To get there I had to pass by my grandmother's dresser.

It was old and had a large dressing mirror on top of it.

As I passed by, I caught sight of something in the corner of my eye.

There was a woman in the mirror, looking at me.

Admittedly, I had been sick lately (just having recovered from the Measles) so I wasn't sure

if it was a delusion.

I asked: "Am I imagining you?"

I instantly felt uneasy.

The apparition had a presence of evil about her which made me sit down on the end of the

bed so that I wouldn't fall down.

I summoned up my courage, soothed by my faith in Jesus.

Since I was a church going Christian, I knew that He would protect me from the Devil and

his works.

I glanced up at her again.

Her hair was fashioned in such a way that did not belong to this time.

If I had to guess, I would place her in the 18th century.

Everything was surreal.

The woman in the mirror asked me if I believed in ghosts.

Cautious in my response to this strange figure, I told her that I had never met one, but had

read about them.

Then, slightly fearful and lingering over my words, I asked her if that was what she

was.

She responded by saying that she was looking for a way to move on, as she had died nearby

and was lost.

Again she asked me: "Can you help me?"

I don't remember the entire conversation.

However, after all these years her final statement has stayed with me.

She said that she was going to kill me.

She had no choice, she said, as people who met ghosts weren't allowed to live to tell

the tale.

Panicking, I remember jumbling together a sad story about my life.

That I was miserable and neglected by my mother.

That I had no friends and that no one liked me.

Parts of it were true, parts of it were not.

I hoped that my plight would make her feel sympathy and that she might spare me.

I told her that she was the only person who had talked to me in a long time.

That I would like to help her and be her friend.

She did not respond right away.

Eventually, she told me she was going to have to leave now, but would return again to talk

with me some more another time.

It was then that my mother came into the bedroom.

She shooed me out as she wanted to take a nap.

I was in the living room when I heard a horrifying scream.

My mother came running out of the room, visibly shaken.

My great-grandmother asked her what was wrong.

My mother answered replied: "There was a woman in the mirror."

We all went into the bedroom together and looked at the mirror.

There was no one there.

But, I knew who my mother had seen.

My mother refused to sleep in that bedroom after that, and so took my bed.

Since I had lied and told her I hadn't seen anything, she said that I could sleep in the

main bedroom.

A queen-size bed, I thought, not really a punishment.

Besides, I had already made a plan.

I had originally spoke with my minister on the phone about the woman in the mirror, but

he told me such things were just nonsense, and said it was probably because of the kind

of books I was reading.

I knew that I would have to deal with this myself.

I spoke with the ghostly woman two more times, giving her sob stories and mock despair each

time.

When the weekend came, I finally found the time to ride my bicycle down to the local

church.

I filled a bottle with holy water.

I took the water home and went to the mirror where I splashed it in the shape of a cross.

After that, I never saw her again.

Recently, I read a book titled 'Deliver us from Evil', written by a New York police

sergeant and an Exorcist.

In the book they documented a case of a demonic entity appearing as a woman in the mirror

of a family that they were helping.

It left me wondering if they had met the same apparition I had...

About a month ago, I moved into a moderately-sized apartment with the love of my life, Thomas,

and his pre-school aged step-daughter, Daisy.

The move came as a huge relief to the both of us: we were thrilled to finally be living

together.

Daisy was also ecstatic to now have her own "big girl room" where she could play and enjoy

her own space.

Moving can certainly be a stressful experience, having to uproot every single belonging and

haul everything multiple times, only to then settle yourself in an unfamiliar space.

So naturally, when things turned up in places other than where I had left them, I was quick

to dismiss it as "the chaos of the move".

I also attributed crankiness, short tempers, and the general feeling of uneasiness to being

in a new environment.

Even after what happened during our first night there.

I had been asleep for several hours, when - around half four in the morning - I was

jolted awake by the sound of a woman gasping.

It startled me so much that I instantly sat upright, flinging the covers from myself as

I wildly scanned the room.

I surveyed my surroundings: bed, dresser, and lots of boxes.

Eventually, my eyes adjusted to the darkness and I was able to see Thomas lying next to

me in bed.

The moment I focused on his sleeping form, he rolled over, lifted his head, and looked

at me.

Only, his eyes were firmly closed.

Regardless, the intensity of his eyeless stare burned into me, as his face formed an expression

of humor and snideness.

The expression terrified me.

Against every shaken fiber of my being, I laid back down in attempt to lull him out

of whatever dream he was in.

At that point, his head snapped to the side, our noses almost touching.

He wiggled his eyebrows, as if he was going to try to make a joke.

Chillingly, still seemingly asleep, he let out a little laugh and uttered: "How scared

are you, right now?"

After that, like a spell had been broken, he fell back into rest.

I couldn't blink, or breathe, or even cry.

It was all so startling, and on top of that I was completely exhausted.

At some point between 5 and 6, I finally fell asleep.

The next day, thinking about what had happened the night before, all seemed so surreal.

It couldn't have possibly happened.

I decided to attribute the whole ordeal to a waking dream.

We had so much to do, and I didn't have time to dwell on it.

We quickly got the apartment settled over the weekend.

As Daisy would be returning from a sleepover on Sunday evening, I wanted everything to

be perfect for her when she arrived.

So, I did the grocery shopping, decorated her room into something very aesthetically

pleasing for a 4 year old, and busied myself with fine-tuning her new home.

Her first night there was a rousing success: she fell in love with the place just as her

father and I had.

That, I'm comfortable to say, was the biggest sigh of relief of all.

We had officially done it.

The "chaos of the move" was through, and we could resume our normality: work, school,

meals, and the like.

The next week was largely uneventful, with the occasional instance of "how did this box

end up in here?" and "who left that light on?".

Menial things that nobody ever pays much attention to.

I didn't anyway.

But I certainly do now.

The next weekend we hosted a party so that my family could see our new home.

The apartment was a big hit with everybody, with the exception of my grandmother.

She had walked around the house with a skeptical eye, occasionally glancing over her shoulder,

and checking in cupboards and behind doors.

Although she is a very interesting lady, my grandmother is also very eccentric, so I didn't

pay much attention to her suspicious glances.

However, when we all finally sat down for dinner, throughout the entire meal my attention

was pulled away, time and time again, by my grandmother.

She sat at the end of the table, silently, gazing with great intention at our sliding

patio door.

After watching her do this for several minutes, I finally asked her what was so interesting

in our garden.

She acted like I had startled her out of some kind of trance.

Looking at me she said, "I keep seeing your white cat in the reflection, you didn't tell

me you bought a new cat."

We hadn't.

I leered over the table, into the living room.

Nothing.

No cat.

She quickly dismissed the comments as a product of a 'senior moment', and our happy evening

resumed.

But the white cat stuck in my memory.

Later that evening, after I had cleaned up the post-party mess, I began building a fire

in our living room fireplace.

The three of us were due to relax.

When, out of the corner of my eye, it was there.

The white cat.

It was big and as fast as a shot, darting under my table and away to the patio door.

I nearly fell over trying to stand, and give chase to the stowaway animal, but when I ran

over to where he had gone, there was no sign of any animal.

Afterwards, when we had settled in for our movie, I told Thomas that I, too, had seen

the white cat.

And that it had disappeared.

Being skeptical of anything paranormal, he shrugged it off with a rational explanation,

suggesting that I should not dwell on a supposed phantom cat.

Relaxing, I agreed.

We both chuckled at the concept and said that a cat ghost wouldn't be such a terrible inconvenience

in our home anyway, when - suddenly - Thomas leapt up off the couch.

He scolded me, saying that there was no cat, and there was no reason for me to be going

to such lengths to scare him.

I was confused to say the least.

"I know that you believe in this stuff, but I don't.

You don't need to brush stuff against my leg and try to get a rise out of me."

But, I had never touched him.

Besides, I was sitting at least 3 feet away, with Daisy between us.

Realising that I couldn't have touched him, confusion washed over Thomas' face.

He quietly apologized and sat back down.

The expression of shock and wondering stayed on his face for a little while.

When the movie was over, and everyone was in bed, I had trouble finding sleep.

I faded in and out of dreams of the white cat, and dreams of a woman that looked very

much like myself.

The dreams were bizarre to say the least.

The woman who looked like me would laugh and howl, then scrape dirt up out of the ground

and stuff it into her face.

Each time that she did, I would choke and spit and gasp for air.

But not her.

She would just howl and laugh and scoop up another handful of dirt.

Needless to say, I did not sleep well.

The next morning, Thomas was on shift to get Daisy out of bed.

As he did, I dozed, sleepily listening to them moving around the house.

I had faded back into light sleep when I was awoken by hurried footsteps coming up the

hall.

Thomas grabbed my shoulder, and shook it gently, asking: "How did you do that?

How did you?"

I was confused and tired.

Sitting up, I asked him to explain what had happened.

This is what he told me:

He had been helping Daisy pull her pajamas down so she could use the bathroom when she

had pointed out the door and said: "There goes Lovie!

Good morning, Lovie!"

Lovie was a pet name that she's always had for me.

When Thomas looked out the door and saw nothing, he had replied: "Where is Lovie?

She isn't there."

Yet, Daisy had pointed her finger out the door and insisted, "YES DADDY, SHE'S RIGHT

THERE!"

It was then that Thomas saw 'me' walking through the living room into the kitchen.

Messy hair, sweatpants, sleepy shuffle….

Whatever this thing was, it was a carbon copy of me.

Thomas went on to explain that he and Daisy had gone into the living room to follow 'me'.

"Lovie is hiding in the kitchen," Thomas had said, "she's gonna pop out and scare

us!"

Thinking it was a game, Daisy had took off back to her room.

Thomas had snuck around to the kitchen threshhold, as this was the only place where someone could

conceal themselves from sight.

Yet, when he looked inside, 'I' had not been there.

Only, it hadn't been 'me' in the first place.

As I had been dozing in bed the entire time.

It took about 10 minutes of me swearing up and down that I had been in bed the whole

time before Thomas realized that I was telling the truth.

I hadn't teleported out of there, I was never there to begin with.

Whatever he and Daisy saw wasn't me.

I instantly thought of the dreams that had plagued me that night.

Of the woman who looked just like me, the howling woman.

Just thinking about this made my stomach sink.

After this, I thought that there was something wrong with our apartment.

Yet, within just a few days I knew I was proven wrong.

Whatever was happening wasn't confined to the apartment anymore.

As I sat at my desk late one afternoon, wrapping up the day's activities, I heard the front

door to the office open and my managers hurry inside.

This wasn't at all odd for me: midwestern November weather is, if nothing else, windy

and unpleasant.

Yet, when they stepped into the area in front of my cubicle, I knew something was wrong.

When I saw the expression on their faces, I was taken back to Thomas' face the previous

weekend: confusion and fear.

They both started to speak to me all at once, loud and agitated.

I was starting to worry.

What had happened?

Did they see a car accident on their smoke break?

Was somebody hurt?

Finally, one of my managers, Kelly, was able to articulate her thoughts: "Where did you

come in?

What are you doing?"

She was not asking, she was demanding - shock painted across her face.

When my answers did not satisfy her (I hadn't been outside for hours) her demeanor changed

from confusion to anger.

"Do not lie to me!

You're not funny.

How the Hell did you get in here so quickly?"

At that moment, the cold, sinking feeling from the weekend before returned to my stomach.

I hadn't been outside.

After a coworker verified this, my managers finally stopped shouting at me.

The realisation hit that there was no joke or lie being played out.

My other manager, Mary, explained that she and Kelly had seen 'me' absent mindedly

pacing through the parking lot outside.

'I' was faced away from them, with 'my' hands folded up in a praying position under

my chin.

This is a particular quirk of mine, I'll often weave my fingers together and rest my chin

on my hands.

It's something I've always done it.

Yet, once again, whatever they saw outside wasn't 'me'.

Kelly and Mary continued to provide precise details of this thing outside.

Not only did it mimic my hand movements, but it also walked like me, copying my absent-minded

habit of stretching my legs by rolling from my heel to my toe to come up on top my tiptoes.

It was even dressed in the same hiking boots, leggings and college basketball sweater that

I was wearing.

Every detail matched perfectly, except for one.

Throughout this whole conversation, Kelly kept returning to the same thing, the reason

why she thought 'I' had been trying to scare them.

As this thing paced the parking lot, mimicking me in every way, it made noises like a cat.

As the reality set in that whatever had been seen outside wasn't actually me, nobody

knew how to react.

There was no panic.

Instead, two very calmly voiced questions hung in the air: First, if it wasn't me, then

what was it?

And, secondly, is it still out there?

I poked my head out the door and scanned the parking lot before slowly walked outside into

the bitter wind.

As I approached my car, I prayed that this thing was long gone.

I couldn't begin to imagine running into it, mirroring my image, dressed up as me.

When I was safely inside of the car, my phone rang.

It was Thomas.

He had arrived at the apartment about 10 minutes beforehand and, as he explained it to me,

every ceiling light that he tried to turn on had popped a light bulb.

Three in total.

When he had returned to the kitchen for new bulbs, he had suddenly heard sprinting feet

approach him.

Not hurried steps or even a hustle, but the loud steps of somebody charging you with a

purpose.

His military training took over, and at the prospect of having a violent intruder in the

house, he grabbed a ceramic knife from the counter.

Yet, when he had ducked and turned to face the assailant, there was nobody there.

There was nobody in the kitchen.

There was nobody in the apartment.

In fact, there was not even anybody in the complex hall or out the main door.

After I told him about the happenings at work, the only response that he could muster was:

"Let's get out of the house tonight.

Let's go see our parents, or your grandma.

Let's get out of the house."

That was an idea I got behind.

When I arrived home he met me at the garden gate with a collection of belongings.

I never set foot inside.

We thought that being at someone else's home would give us a small reprieve.

However, that thought was short lived.

At Thomas' mother's house, a closet door opened, and then shut, seemingly of its own

volition.

Also, a foul smell seeped into the house, almost as soon as we set foot through the

door.

I've seen enough horror movies to draw conclusions from these events: we decided that we ought

not stay for too long.

Thomas' mother shared in our confusion and fear.

Ultimately unable to help, she hugged us goodbye.

As we drove away, I looked on as every window of her house lit up, as every source of light

in the building was switched on.

Grandmother's house wasn't much better.

As we walked in her door, yet another light bulb exploded, not two feet from Thomas'

head.

We both rushed inside, thinking we could leave the presence out on the porch if we closed

the door quickly enough.

Having seen the white cat at the housewarming party, my grandmother was concerned.

She placed her hands on my shoulder and told me that I needed to cleanse the house.

She gave us a couple of white candles and instructed us to both leave our Bibles open

where the bulk of the activity was happening.

Yet, as much as I clung to those white candles, they did nothing to relieve the situation.

Neither did the advice from an old friend of mine, who has experience with spirit communications.

Strange things still happen in my house.

And, I am still haunted by my doppelganger.

This thing seems to take delight in following us everywhere, and scaring not only us, but

everyone we come into contact with.

I do not know what it is, I can only describe it as some kind or dark presence.

It's intentions are far from pleasant.

It terrifies me, and I feel unwelcome in my own home.

Like I am being forced out.

Whatever is in my apartment doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon.
