Today we continue the theme dedicated to soap bubbles

How to perform basic text editing using Sed - Yes, I Know IT ! Ep 07 - Duration: 4:17.
When programming, it is not uncommon to have similar changes
to apply to many different files.
It can be quite boring -- BUT, ... … as we are working mainly with TEXT files,
this can be automated easily.
Here, I have three files.
Two of them are really basic shell scripts.
The third one is a typical license file.
And I want to insert the license text on top of each script file.
Of course, it would be great if the YEAR and COPYRIGHT HOLDER were replaced by actual values
instead of placeholders.
THIS is clearly a work for SED, the stream editor!
SED is a standard Unix tool to filter and TRANSFORM the content of a text file.
Most if not all you can do by hand using a text editor, you can PROGRAM it using sed.
This includes inserting text, deleting lines or performing substitutions.
Speaking of substitutions, this is exactly what I need to replace my placeholders by
actual values.
First, let's replace the YEAR placeholder:
And we can do the same for the copyright holder:
In addition, shell comments MUST have a NUMBER SIGN at the start of each line.
So, let's do that change, …
... and store the output in a new file:
You've probably noticed I used the SUBSTITUTION command to insert text at the start of an
EXISTING line.
But sed does support plain INSERT and APPEND commands too.
For example, I can use them to add a new empty comment line before …
...and after the license text:
Finally, I don't really need those dashed lines around the license text.
So, let's get rid of them using the DELETE command:
Now I have that license file properly formatted, which is ready for inclusion in each script.
In that particular case, that means I want the license to be read and inserted AFTER
the first line of each script:
And here we are.
In this little introduction, I gave you an overview of the most common SED features.
Once again, it might seem overcomplicated when you have only one or two files to change.
But if you have many many files to deal with, or if you apply the same changes to some files
on a regular basis, it could be a real time saver!
Anyway, I hope that little introduction to sed gave you an idea of the power behind that
command.

Anonymous recently published a video titled �The Elimination of George Soros Has Started,�
and to be honest, I�m pretty excited about it. George Soros is a key member of the shadow
government disguised as a philanthropic billionaire.

but if you look a little closer, you�ll realize that every donation he makes has an
ulterior motive behind it, helping to secure his control over the political landscape and
in turn profit from it.
George Soros� History: How He Gained Political Power
George Soros� current net worth is $23 billion. After selling his company, Soros Fund Management,
in 2000, he�s been focusing on his �humanitarian efforts� through his philanthropic Open
Society Foundations (OSF). Soros started making strategic political donations to essentially
fund revolutions in different European countries and made a fortune amidst the chaos. He also
made a killing off European forced migration and other colour revolutions.
In 2004, Soros started making heavier investments in the U.S., stating, �I deeply believe
in the values of an open society. For the past 15 years I have been focusing my efforts
abroad; now I am doing it in the United States.� Could �open society� be referring to a
New World Order?
Soros has donated money to a number of �left� groups such as the Tides Foundation, Center
for American Progress, and the Democracy Alliance to influence campaign finance laws. As a result,
any democratic politicians that don�t support or express �progressive narrative� either
receive cuts to their funding or are targeted by the media. This would be easy for Soros
to influence, as he uses OSF to funnel money into Media Matters, which directly contributes
to mainstream media outlets such as NBC and the New York Times. (source)
Soros also heavily funded many of the �Black Lives Matters� movements. Don�t get me
wrong � I�m a strong advocate for equality and am happy to see people supporting one
another. However, Soros� investments in anti-discrimination movements seem to be politically
driven, intent on stirring up conflict.
According to the most recent tax filings of OSF, Soros donated at least $33 million to
support the activists in Ferguson in one year alone. According to the Washington Post, these
donations ultimately resulted in a nationwide movement, social media campaigns, more protestors,
and stirred crime in Missouri. Other Soros-funded groups were instructed to create �academic
research and editorials to disseminate to the news media to keep the story alive.�
In addition to funding these movements, Soros is actually tied to the creation of the term
�Black Lives Matter.� Kassandra Frederique, Policy Manager at the Drug Policy Alliance
founded by Soros, works directly with Opal Tometi, who runs the Black Alliance for Just
Immigration and is the co-creator of #BlackLivesMatter. According to those same tax filings, Soros
donated $100,000 to Black Alliance for Just Immigration in 2011.
The #BlackLivesMatters groups Soros donated to actually attacked Bernie Sanders and supported
Hillary Clinton. This isn�t surprising, as Soros is good friends with the Clintons,
taking on a senior role in the �Ready for Hillary� group and donating more than $15
million since 2013 to pro-Clinton groups and Super PACs.
Why Anonymous Is Targeting Soros
It�s clear that Soros could easily influence foreign policy wherever he has investments.
In a 2014 CNN interview, Soros actually discusses his ties to the conflict in the Ukraine.
CNN host Fareed Zakaria asks Soros, �First on Ukraine, one of the things that many people
recognized about you was that you during the revolutions of 1989 funded a lot of dissident
activities, civil society groups in eastern Europe and Poland, the Czech Republic. Are
you doing similar things in Ukraine?�
Soros responds, �Well, I set up a foundation in Ukraine before Ukraine became independent
of Russia. And the foundation has been functioning ever since and played an important part in
events now.�
Just to be clear, the �events� he is referring to are the conflicts and war that occurred
in the Ukrainian region of Donbass, which resulted in over 10,000 casualties, the displacement
of over 1.4 million people, and even a plane crash that killed 298 passengers. This was
good news for Soros though because he profited from the chaos yet again, including the acquisition
of the state-owned energy monopoly, Naftogaz.
Anonymous discusses Soros� link to the conflict in the Ukraine and how he was partially responsible
for the Western-led coup that overthrew the democratically elected government of Ukraine.
Anonymous also points out the relationship former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden held
with the natural gas company in the Ukraine. The good news, highlighted in the video, is
that George Soros is losing friends in power with the election of U.S. President Donald
Trump.
Soros� Ties to This Year�s �Women�s March�
I felt a very strange vibe around this year�s Women�s March. As a woman, I would have
loved to participate in a protest that actually empowers us and strives for gender equality,
but to me, that wasn�t what this was. I felt that the march was actually a political
move, one that was pro-Clinton and anti-Trump. As a result, I felt that I wouldn�t even
be welcome at the event, because I don�t support Hillary Clinton either. To me, creating
awareness simply about the issues without fighting someone else is the key here.
As it turns out, Soros, one of Clinton�s greatest supporters and largest donors, has
funded or holds close relationships with at least 56 of the march�s �partners,�
including �key partners� Planned Parenthood and the National Resource Defense Council,
both of which are anti-Trump. Other �Women�s March� organizations Soros is tied to include
MoveOn.org, which is pro-Clinton, the National Action Network, which has ties to the DNC,
American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Constitutional Rights, Amnesty International,
and Human Rights Watch.
Prior to the march, at least 33% of the �women of colour� who originally protested the
Trump election in the streets worked at organizations funded by Soros. To reiterate, I strongly
support equal rights for all people and consider any physical differences an illusory distraction
from the true essence of our being. However, it is clear to me that some of these gender
and racial inspired protests are not really about achieving equal rights.
There is a clear plan being played out here by the elite, which is to get us to fight
with each other and misplace our frustrations. They are literally tricking people into thinking
they�re fighting for equality, when these are actually just movements created by the
elite to distract us and create conflict. It�s still beautiful in a way because it
means that people clearly want positive change within society. Nevertheless, they are still
another part of the elite�s agenda.
What Does All of This Mean?
It�s important to see past all of the darkness and understand the true root of the problem.
There�s clearly a shadow government controlling the United States that George Soros plays
an active role in. The good news is that more people are starting to understand the gravity
of the situation at hand and, by raising awareness, we can start to create positive change.
Even other countries are publicly recognizing the role the elite plays in the U.S. government.
For example, after Bill Clinton accused Poland and Hungary of turning into a �Putin-like�
and �authoritarian dictatorship� last year, their governments saw right through
it.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb�n responded by saying, �The remarks made about Hungary
and Poland � have a political dimension. These are not accidental slips of the tongue.
And these slips or remarks have been multiplying since we are living in the era of the migrant
crisis. And we all know that behind the leaders of the Democratic Party, we have to see George
Soros.�
He went on to say, �The mouth is Clinton�s but the voice is of George Soros.�
It�s important to reflect on what role you, as a citizen, play in all of this. Are you
supporting the organizations that the elite govern? Are you participating in and falling
victim to the very systems that keep perpetuating their control over us? While it may be difficult
to admit, this is at least in part a reflection of you, because you are part of the collective.
This means that even though you are, in some way, part of what caused this, you can also
be part of the solution.

Events organized across Korea for Lunar New Year's - Duration: 2:36.
It's day one of the four-day long Lunar New Year holiday in Korea.
If you don't have any family gatherings to go to,... how about enjoying some of the special
events laid on around the country.
There are too many to tell you about in one report,... but for an introduction to two
of the best,... here's our Oh Jung-hee.
It's a four-day-long weekend... not at all short,... too long to waste.
During the holiday,... Everland, the largest amusement park in Korea, holds its Seollal
Folk Hanmadang Festival everyday at Carnival Square.
A range of Korea's traditional games are set up... for families, especially kids, to try
out new activities and for foreigners to experience Korean culture.
Staff dressed up as figures from Korean fairytales greet visitors and enjoy folk games, including
Tuho and Jegichagi.
Visitors are also free to try out Korean drums and twirl a sangmo hat.
"We came here because of the Lunar New Year holiday, and it's nice to experience little
bit of Korean culture here.

If you want to completely immerse yourself into the frosty winter season,... the Hongcheon-gang
River Kkong Kkong Festival in Gangwon-do Province is the place to be.

Visitors can't take their eyes off the hole.

Today, I have a question about taking a pay cut for an opportunity.
Well, this is a good idea or not.
This question comes from Alex and he says, "I've been working at an IT/Helpdesk position
at 40k a year for the last year while doing an internship for Devops/PHP dev(unpaid).
My IT job has told me that I'll be promoted to do data analysis (no salary mentioned).
Lately at my internship, I'm mostly just doing QA testing.
My internship has said that they want to eventually hire me on for the 40k pay.
Since I have no degree, this may be a good career opportunity.
After my promotion at my current job, should I take this pay cut for the opportunity?"
So this is a tough one.
I'm going to kind of genericize this advice.
I mean I don't have all the context and background to give like a fully—to fully
evaluate the situation, but I'm going to give some guidelines here that I think is helpful
in just about any situation.
Again, in this particular situation, it depends on, I would say, whether or not which opportunity
is going to potentially lead to more of opportunity to do development, what you think you're going
to do.
It sounds to me like it would probably be the internship, whereas it's more difficult—like
if you can get a position, if you're already an intern and you can get a position doing
development work, that's going to be easier than it is to go from like an IT/Helpdesk
position to dev.
It's very hard to make the transition from IT/Helpdesk to dev.
It's just because people assume that you're one way and they assume that you're the IT/Helpdesk
person and they can't see you as a developer role.
That becomes difficult to do.
With that said, let's talk about kind of the bigger principle.
I like to talk about principles because that's—I think we should guide our lives and our decisions
by principles rather than contextual situations because that can help us to make decisions
in the context of whatever situation we're in.
There's this principle that I talk about a lot, which is always, always in your career,
in your life, prefer to take responsibility over pay because—I talked about this before.
I think I was talking about this quote in House of Cards where Kevin Spacey was talking
about his character.
I've only seen one episode, but it was such a great one.
He was talking about how like this one guy—he was—he made a mistake of choosing money
over power and he got the Mick Mansion instead of whatever it was.
I can't remember exactly the quote, but it was a good one.
Essentially, this principle kind of expands to that area as well which is basically this.
If you have the opportunity to choose power or responsibility which is the same thing
as power, over money, do it because with responsibility, with power, you can get money.
Okay?
That's a key thing.
We could expand this to say in the software development field or in this specific situation,
we can expand this and say, if you have the opportunity to choose to do the career, the
thing you want to do that's in line with your goals and your profession over money, choose
that because if you go down that road, the money will eventually come if you've become
skilled in that.
Right?
You might be able to get a promotion as an IT/Helpdesk person, but you're still not an
IT/Helpdesk person.
Maybe you'll make more money than you initially make as a software developer.
I guarantee you.
IT/Helpdesk people, they're at the top of the game.
If you are the shit IT/Helpdesk person, you're not making more than 60—maybe $70,000 a
year.
If you were the shit programmer, if you're at the top of your game programmer, you can
be making $200,000 a year.
Maybe more than that.
If you're a freelancer, hell.
The sky is the limit or you become an entrepreneur in that case, but even just as a regular job.
So again, this kind of falls into that guideline, of that principle, is look at it and in situation
in general, say, "Okay.
Think for the long term.
Think where does this road take me in 3 years, in 5 years, and where does this other road?"
A lot of times we're tempted to take the pay.
I've done this.
I've made this mistake in my career before where I've switched jobs over like a 5k pay
difference or 10k pay difference and some people—somebody might say, "Well, that's
a lot of money.
I'm only making 40k.
If I can make 50k, that's a lot more."
Granted.
That's fine.
It's a lot more in the short term, but in the long term, is that really going to be
the best decision?
Is that really going to boost you up?
You can step ladder your way up making 10k and then 10k more and 10k more, but make sure
that you've got those opportunities.
That's a strategy.
That's fine but it's a long-term strategy.
In general though, you want to always choose responsibility or power over pay because,
like I said, you can always trade that.
If you're in a responsibility position, a high responsibility position, the pay may
lag behind.
Eventually, that pay is going to catch up.
Even if it doesn't catch up at your current company, when you switch companies—if you
had the choice between—let's just give you a scenario to put some practicality to it.
Let's say that you got a job as a software developer.
You had one job and you can make 70k a year, but you're managing a team and you're just
on your own, just the sole software developer for this company or you had another opportunity
where you can make 60k a year, but you're the tech lead and you're in charge of a team
of 5 developers and you're the technical lead for that.
That second position is better.
Even if you never make more money there, when you switch jobs, when you go and apply for
another job, now you'll be able to say that "I'm the tech lead.
I was over 5 developers.
I was the mentor" and you're going to be able to get a higher paying job.
Whereas, that other job might offer you more money in the short term.
That's how power, responsibility transitions into more money.
Not always right away.
Not always in the same company but over the course of things.
If you're doing big things, kind of another related principle, is something that Zig Ziglar
said.
He said that, "If you help enough people get what they want, you'll get what you want."
It's kind of the same principle, right?
It's like if you're reaching more people, if you have more power, if you have more responsibility,
if you're reaching a larger—if you're having a larger sphere of influence, the money is
going to follow that.
I promise you because that's the conduit which money flows.
It flows through power.
It flows through responsibility.
It flows through that conduit.
So you just have to understand that you need to make those choices.
