Youtube daily report w Aug 23 2018

hi I'm Erin, one of the hardest things about ranch life is that there is no

such thing as calling in sick regardless of how bad you feel I'm actually pretty

sick today and have been lost few days the work still needs to be done so today

I'm going to tell you all about what we have going on and how I'm going to deal

with being sick but still get the work done on our wyoming life

today's video is gonna be a little bit different than what you guys typically

see here on our wyoming life I'm really pretty sick I just have a cold but it's

really been wearing me down these last few days yesterday even I had to go take

a nap that's how bad it was in the middle of the day so we are getting

ready for our farm-to-table dinner which is coming up on Sunday and you know

everything is usually we're always busy here on the ranch but this week it's

just so much worse because of farm-to-table dinner the work that we

need to do every week has been about quadrupled the girls also started school

this year or this week on Tuesday they have their first day of school Kenzie

went into second grade and gray started kindergarten this morning I also had to

take link into preschool orientation he gets to start preschool next Tuesday so

we've been busy taking care of kids getting them ready for school and then

also I got this cold that Lincoln was so nice to share with me and so I really

just wanted to spend you know time of course getting better but the work still

needs to be done so I'm gonna show you the things that we've been doing to get

ready for farm to table mics here in the background actually getting the shop

ready to go we've had the place mode we've had some friends come out and help

and I even made my own little project list on the board of all the things that

need to get done before farm to table we spent the last couple of days crossing

things off but now it's Thursday and it's time for me to pick and wash

vegetables because we're still going to farmers market on Saturday so today I'm

gonna spend time picking and washing vegetables and I'm going to be picking

vegetables for the farm-to-table dinner also it's gonna be a really long busy

day just like the last few days have been so I'm gonna show you some of the

stuff that we've been doing to get ready for farm-to-table

Sunday morning you'll still get a video from us and then we're gonna actually

show that same video to the people that come to our farm to table dinner but you

guys on YouTube get to see it first and Mike's currently working on that

when he's not outside getting things ready for the dinner

and then Tuesday we'll probably have a recap of all the fun and exciting things

that are happening here at farm-to-table this week has been all about divide and

conquer so I watched as Mike and I tackle the farm-to-table project list

and we explore the ranch life and escape the ordinary

I just want to thank you guys for taking your time to spend time with us today

and thank everybody for all the birthday wishes that I got last week it was very

enjoyable to read all those comments and I enjoyed sharing my birthday with you

guys so thank you for that being sick this week has just been the most

inconvenient thing and maybe it was the stress maybe it's just been all summer

long of too much work and not enough downtime

unfortunately that is just the the way our ranch life is we are it's hard for

us to say no and I love doing the farm-to-table dinner it's one of my

favorite things that I look forward to all year long it's also one of the most

stressful things for us all year long and even then we started the prep and

the planning way back in February it seems like these last couple weeks right

before a farm-to-table things get really hectic so I think one of the things that

we've really learned being on the ranch almost 10 years now is that there is no

such thing as sick days and regardless of how ill I feel we just have to get up

and we have to do the work because there's there's people depending on us

and there's animals depending on us and Mike very rarely gets to well we never

get to have a day where we don't go do something so I think it's a true

testament to all farmers and ranchers that we we all get up out of bed and we

all go do the work that has to be done every day and I appreciate the hard work

that the ranch has taught us and now I'm gonna go get to work and get some

vegetables picked Mike's working and cleaning up the shop and you know come

Sunday at 4 o'clock there's gonna be 75 people here and and we will be ready one

way or another I am trying to get as much rest as possible we went to bed

really early last night I've been drinking lots of fluids taking lots of

vitamin C I do feel better today than I did yesterday so I think things are on

the mend and by Sunday I hope that I sound a lot better and I know I look

really tired and exhausted today but I do feel better than I did yesterday

so again on Tuesday Mike will have the farm-to-table recap video for you guys

bit of a surprise but you guys will see Sunday morning the video that we're

gonna show to our guests at farm-to-table dinner that evening so

thank you guys for joining me and I will see you later and and of course Lincoln

when he's sick wants to be really cuddly Oh cat all right starting over that

we've been doing to get ready for farm-to-table and then on Sunday no no I

just rambled on what do you do it yeah what what are you doing for a video on

Sunday so this last week has been all about farm-to-table and feel like I'm

rambling okay I'm done

The reason that stretch effect not sustainable. - Duration: 7:37.

Hi my name is youhei ozaki. Thanks for watch this video. This time talk about reason that stretch effect not sustainable.

I hear this question from my customer often. If I didn't stretch exercise everyday,my body become stiff soon. Or said with come out low back pain.

If you feel stress by stretch exercise into every day,I don't recommend it. The possible that self body improve with stretch exercise is low. I am thinking like that.

I do explain about that reason. I do explain for person that feel the pain increase by stopped the stretch exercise into every day. I use this string in explain.

This string is muscle. This string edge is muscle edge, joint part. This muscle by joint movement is can to move.

Case of do keep away 2 joints, can to stretch the muscle. But muscle of almost people is not this condition. Tied place of this string is stiff point.

In almost muscle have many stiff point. Most stiff point don't soften by stretch exercise. It is state that the stiff point did keep.

In stretch exercise is effective only stretch place soon. As long as remaining that stiff muscle, your body will come back past condition soon. Blood flow become bad by that stiff point.

And that is giving bad effect into around. The small stiff point can't to soften by stretch exercise. Or take a so long time into improvement.

I am talking about this theory with my many video. If you can to soften this stiff muscle, you don't need to do stretch exercise every day. Of course, exercise for increase physical fitness is very important.

The stretch for improvement of self body condition is not enough. I am watching many people like that. Even if person that do stretch exercise everyday, that person has many stiff muscle.

Case you feel body bad condition when you stopped stretch exercise, there is possible that doing stretch exercise with condition that keep stiff muscle into your body. Case of that,I don't recommend the stretch exercise. Please remember that.

Case of me,I don't stretch exercise more 1 years. But I never have stiff neck or low back pain. I don't running and also normal exercise etc.

You can to get healthy body with few time. There is factor that become unhealthy inside usually life.

That is working kind or human relation etc. I recommend this self care for you.

Please try it. Thanks for watch this video. See you!

You're Probably Consuming False Cinnamon All Your Life - Duration: 3:31.

In addition to being a delicious spice, cinnamon is full of benefits to our health.

To give you an idea, cinnamon is the spice with more antioxidants known, winning

including garlic.

In addition cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties, antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Studies have shown that cinnamon is capable of to increase our insulin sensitivity,

reduce blood sugar and reduce bad cholesterol.

This translates into a lower chance of developing heart disease and diabetes.

However, cinnamon is a very diverse.

In fact, there are several different types of cinnamon, and unfortunately, not all are beneficial

to health.

One of these types of cinnamon, the cassia, also known as cinnamon java and cinnamon-Chinese,

is one of the most common found for sale in Brazil, perhaps for its low price.

In addition to being of inferior quality, cinnamon may have harmful effects on the

body.

The problem with this cinnamon is its high levels of coumarin, a chemical compound

used in the manufacture of poisons for a mouse.

According to the German Federal Institute of Risk Assessment, this compound is

toxic to the liver, and even small doses of coumarin frequently

for a few months can cause damage to this organ.

In some cases, it can even cause jaundice.

But should you stop using cinnamon?

The answer is no.

The solution is to look for the right kind of cinnamon, cinnamon cinnamon, also known scientifically

as "true cinnamon."

Both canines have coumarin, however. true cinnamon contains only traces

of coumarin, while Chinese cinnamon may have up to 1% of its composition

compound.

Can you tell apart from each other only looking at them.

Chinese cinnamon has long sticks and well separated from each other, while that of Ceylon

shorter and more mixed fibers.

Color is also another important indicator: cinnamon has a lighter color in

relation to false.

Next time you buy cinnamon, look for the what type of cinnamon

You're bringing home.

One tip is to avoid buying cinnamon powder, because once they are ground, it gets very

difficult to differentiate one species from the other.

See you!

You Asked: Free things on and near ASU campus - Duration: 1:51.

So this is You Asked and today you asked about stuff that is easy on your wallet.

There's the yoga at Papago Park every Thursday at 7:00. It's a different yogi

every week so you never know what you're gonna get.

And there's also dogs, and they do like a mini rave after.

I go to the SDFC, go hit the gym, workout.

Free for students.

They want you to stay clothed,

they have like a shirt policy. Where'd you get all this stuff?

Dude, I actually got this at Culture Fest.

Definitely my favorite thing to do is go to Tempe Town Lake.

I love cycling and that's just a free place to go where you can ride your bike.

Also, all the sporting events: free.

Where do we get the free stuff? Where is that happening?

Free stuff. So the Hurts Donut car will come and they have free donuts out front of the MU sometimes.

The front of the bookstore is a great place to get free items.

They always have tables for different apartment complexes and

different stores around Tempe so they're always handing out free stuff.

These are free? Yes. Sweet.

Go to First Fridays every month. Downtown Phoenix.

I like, you know, the cool swag things you get at welcome events.

and events at the SDFC. Like water bottles, sweatshirts.

There's lots of clubs to do here and so I'm part of a club called

Bridges where international students can come and feel home away from home.

Also, fun clubs like

spike ball club, sports clubs.

I also enjoy hiking Arizona's beautiful outdoors.

You know what else is free? The secret garden. Five bucks if you want directions.

I Don't Care For Classics and That's Okay [CC] - Duration: 7:06.

[Sigh]

You probably expect me to be spilling some tea in this video, but this is actually cold coffee.

And from a practical standpoint, why would you waste tea?

Hi, YouTube, it's Kathy.

I'm here to talk to you about why classics just aren't for me and that's okay.

I'm also drinking decaf coffee because I have stomach issues and I put ice in it to make

it deliberately cold because it got to that disgusting lukewarm temperature that makes

everything undrinkable.

And it's pretty good.

Now I imagine a video like this might come with some controversy, so right off the bat,

I'm going to let you know that if you like classics, that is totally fine.

I am very happy for you that you enjoy them.

I have a naturally sarcastic voice, so if that sounded sarcastic, I meant it genuinely.

Also, that.

As with any genre that people choose to read, some people are going to like it, and some

people aren't, and it's totally fine if you do, and it's totally fine if I don't.

So yeah. I'm not here to spill any tea.

I'm just here to talk about why classics don't work for me.

So the reason why I'm bringing this up now is I'm currently doing the BookSwapAThon,

and one of the challenges is to swap the genre you would usually read.

So, read something you wouldn't usually.

For this, I decided to pick up a classic because classics are not things that I've typically

gotten along with in the past.

In fact, I did some research to find an extremely short classic because I knew I wasn't going

to enjoy this experience, and only 88 pages of this is actually the classic, and the rest

is, like, talking about that text.

This is Billy Budd by Herman Melville.

Sometimes it's called Billy Budd, [Foretopman] or Billy Budd, Sailor.

But Billy Budd - which ever one.

Basically, it's about a sailor.

That's all you really need to know from the title.

I got 4 chapters in, which is a whooping 18 pages, and I think I just have to DNF it.

I am a completist, and I would love to complete all of the challenges for the readathon, but

I just don't think it's going to happen.

Here's my thing with classics: I've been told, especially through the school system, that

if you are a reader, you should read classics, know where everything came from, and then

read all of the newer stuff later, and the newer stuff is fluffy whereas this is hard reading.

This is good reading.

This is the reading that will put hair on your chest, or whatever.

Although I can appreciate reading books and understanding the historical context from

which they came, and using them as a way to discuss society at the time the book was written,

often times the most impactful a classic has been [for me] has been in a classroom setting

where there is a teacher there to tell me what I don't understand.

I'm not going to sit here and say I am the most intelligent person in the world, because

I'm definitely not, but I am fairly intelligent, and half the time I do not understand what

I'm reading when I read a classic.

Let's pull up an example from this book, shall we?

I'm just going to pick a random page and start reading, and, uh, if you understand, please

tell me what's going on.

"Very likely it is no new remark that the inventions of our time have [been] brought

about a change in sea warfare in degree corresponding to the revolution in all warfare effected

by the original introduction from China into Europe of gunpowder."

That is the type of sentence I would have to read three times to be like,

"yes; warfare is effect by gunpowder. Okay, now I understand".

The thing is, though, the majority of my reading at this point in my life - possibly all of

it, let's be honest - is for pleasure, and if I'm not enjoying it because I have to read

every sentence three times to figure out what the author is saying - why?

Why would I do that to myself?

Yes, I understand that analyzing texts can be important, but I'm not writing a thesis.

I'm not here to figure out exactly why Herman Melville wrote this.

I just want to read a book.

And yes, I am that type of nerd who loves it when I learn new words, so you would think

that the fact that the vernacular is slightly different would be interesting to me, and

to a degree, it is.

However, the incredibly different syntax just takes me out of enjoying whatever I'm reading.

And I can sympathize; in my own writing, I write incredibly long sentences that need

a better structure.

It happens.

But at least I can make sense of my own sentences as they're going, as opposed to sentences in this.

"In this matter of writing, resolve as one may to keep the main road, some by-paths have

an enticement not readily to be withstood."

... What?

Also, the point of this video isn't to say classics are ridiculous and there's no good

part about them, because that is false.

Obviously there are people, many of them on YouTube, who are drawn to the classic plots.

I cannot tell you how many videos I've watched where people have said that Jane Austen is

their favourite writer.

And that's fantastic.

I can see the draw after I dig through about 12 layers of not understanding what she's

talking about to realize that yes, she is being really funny.

I just don't think that I'm up for that mental work every time I want to enjoy a book.

I can and do enjoy the plot lines of a classic, but I enjoy them much better in retellings.

In the last year or two, I've read a couple of retellings that I absolutely love, even

though I've never picked up the classic because I know it would be a slog, and I don't want

to ruin it for me.

And it's quite hesitation to put something like this out there because there's this perception

that if you don't read classics, you're not really a reader, which...

no.

Do you read?

You are a reader.

Have you listened to an audiobook and enjoyed the experience?

You are a reader.

Did somebody read a book to you and you were engaged by the experience, and enjoyed it?

You are a reader.

So at this point I basically want to open it up to a discussion in the comments.

If you are a classics reader, please let me know about why and how you read classics.

Is it mostly in an academic setting?

Is it for fun, and you just happen to understand the vernacular and the syntax, and it works for you?

Because that's totally great and I'm very excited for you if it does.

If you're not a classics reader, tell me about that as well.

But be nice.

Nobody fighting in my comments, please.

And one last thing I want to ask: if you know of any retellings of a classic, please let me know down below.

I love retellings of classics and I would love to read many more of them to get a better

understanding of these classics that I feel like I'm missing out on because I can't seem

to dig through all of the layers to understand why people like them.

I mean, on a logical level, I know why people like them.

They enjoy the characters or the plot of what for, like you would with any other genre.

But I personally find it very difficult to get to the plot or the characters or whatever

because I can't get myself through the language.

To me, trying to read a classic is like trying to read a grocery list with a few different

words smushed in there that I don't know, with a couple of connecting words to make

them into sentences that don't necessarily make any sense.

Or, to use a different analogy, I remember some of the French I was taught in high school,

but it's been a while, and it would be like me trying to read something in French.

If the book was of a lower vocabulary, I get most of it, but I would have to try really

hard to do it, and that's just not my jam.

I'm honestly a little scared that people are going to just say I'm lazy and don't like

to take up a challenge, and that's what reading is about, and that might be it for you.

I just happen to like different challenges, such as doing readathons.

I have done so many this year.

I'm doing one and soon I will be doing two at the same time, and that's not even the

first time this has happened.

So yeah, talk to me about this down in the comments below.

On the way down to the comments, if you hit that subscribe button, that would be very nice of you.

You can like and share this as you see fit, and I will see you very soon.

Bye!

Lately, I've been, I've been thinking I want you to be happier, I want you to be

happier

When the morning comes When we see what we've become

In the cold light of day we're a flame in the wind

Not the fire that we've begun Every argument, every word we can't take back

'Cause with all that has happened I think that we both know the way that the

story ends

Then only for a minute I want to change my mind

'Cause this just don't feel right to me I want to raise your spirits

I want to see you smile but Know that means I'll have to leave

Know that means I'll have to leave Lately, I've been, I've been thinking

I want you to be happier, I want you to be happier

When the evening falls And I'm left there with my thoughts

And the image of you being with someone else Well, it's eating me up inside

But we ran our course, we pretended we're okay

Now if we jump together at least we can swing Far away from the wreck we made

Then only for a minute I want to change my mind

'Cause this just don't feel right to me I want to raise your spirits

I want to see you smile but Know that means I'll have to leave

Know that means I'll have to leave Lately, I've been, I've been thinking

I want you to be happier, I want you to be happier

So I'll go, I'll go I will go, go, go

So I'll go, I'll go I will go, go, go

Lately, I've been, I've been thinking I want you to be happier, I want you to be

First Week Puppy Training - The 6 Skills To Teach First - Duration: 7:14.

- The first week home for a new puppy

is a very impressionable time.

And there are a few exercises that you should be doing

with your new puppy during their first week home

that will really help speed up the learning process.

In this video I'm going to teach you six exercises

that you can do with your new puppy

that will help them to become a well-behaved

four-legged family member who loves to listen.

I'm Ken Steepe, this is Hippy Hippy Shake,

welcome back to McCann Dogs.

(acoustic instrumental music)

(dog barking)

Now the first thing you need to keep in mind

is that puppies have tiny bellies

and they also have really short attention span.

So as you're working with your puppy

for the first couple of weeks,

keep those training sessions really short

and take advantage of all the natural training opportunities

that are presented to you.

For us, we'll often portion out

a little bit of the puppies food,

whether it's their breakfast or lunch or dinner or whatever

and use that for training.

We know that we have a motivated dog to work for food

because it's their feeding time

and we're also not giving our puppy too much food

over the course of the day.

Now the first thing I want to talk about

is the response to name.

Now, before your puppy knows their name,

it's just a word, they've never heard it before.

So we need to do something to build value on that word

and the first thing we're going to do

for the first few repetitions is just say their name

then reward them.

And it goes a little something like this, I'll say, Hippy,

then reward.

Hippy, then reward.

Hippy, then reward.

Now I'm making it really easy for Hippy right now

and I'm building value on that word.

But in just a few sessions

you'll be able to make it

a little bit more challenging for your puppy.

Now here's where we're going to increase

the challenge of that response name

a little bit for your puppy.

I want you to wait for a moment when your puppy's distracted

which probably won't take that long

because puppies are naturally pretty distracted

by all of the things in their environment.

But have a few treats in hand.

When your puppy gets distracted,

call their name and put a treat on their nose,

turn them in toward you and yes, reward

when your puppy is facing you.

That way they're gonna start to understand

that every time they hear their name

they need to turn in toward you.

And I'll show you how it goes, kind of like this.

I'll get her distracted.

Hippy.

I'll turn her toward me.

Yes, good girl.

So do that a few times.

And I'll try it again.

Hippy.

Turn her toward me.

Yes, good girl, very nice.

Hippy.

Turn her toward me.

Yes, good girl.

Hippy is starting to understand

that every time she hears her name

she needs to turn toward me

because something good is about to happen.

Now something you need to keep in mind

is that when you've got your puppy at home

avoid using their name all the time

unless you're training this exercise.

The last thing you want to do

is water down how important that word is.

So we use something like, "Here, pup, pup, pup."

or "Here, here, here." or something like that

until we're ready to train our puppy's name

and that way that name is always something valuable.

Another thing that we like to do

for the response to name training

is after you've had a few successful repetitions

of turning your puppy away from a distraction,

you and a partner will sit at either end of a hallway

and one person will hold the puppy

and get them really excited.

The other person will have some food

and they might use some exciting language

to really keep the puppy's focus and keep their attention.

Then they'll call the puppy's name

and that partner will release the puppy down to them.

It really builds motivation and drive

for an excited response to name.

In those first few days of your puppy coming home,

make sure you have an opportunity

to get them accustomed to their collar.

Now, when you pop your puppy's new collar on

for the first couple times, they may itch and scratch at it

and it's just them getting used to it,

it's like you wearing a new pair of glasses

or something like that.

But it's going to be important down the road

for you to keep your puppy safe, keep your young dog safe

that you can have a collar on them safely,

you can clip a leash to it.

And even more importantly, be able to put on a house line,

which is something we talked about in a previous video

and I'll link that in the card above.

Puppies explore the world with their mouths,

so a great way to engage with them

is by using something like an interactive toy.

I've got this Bungee Tug here.

The other great thing is for those of you

who want to do dog sports in the future

or you want your dog to have a great retrieve or a fetch.

Having toy driving your dog is going to be really important.

The other great thing

that you can start doing with your puppy

is laying the foundation for their out

by engaging with the toy and then presenting some food,

Hippy's gonna start to learn what the out command means.

So let's get started.

With your puppy I want you to get that interactive toy

and animate it on the ground.

Make it look really exciting,

so that your puppy get gets interested in it.

I'll show you with Hippy Shake.

Ready?

Okay, get that tug!

Tug, tug, tug!

So when your puppy gets...

Hippy Shake's got it now, she's starting to tug on it.

When your puppy gets a hold of that toy

and it seems really excited about it,

you're gonna say, "Out" and then you can present the food.

Very nice, good girl.

We'll try it one more time to get her even more excited.

Ready?

Get that thing.

Oh, she's very excited now.

Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.

You can see how much she loves playing this game.

I'm gonna tell her "Out" and then present the food.

The great part about using these interactive toys

is that not only does your dog have fun playing with the toy

but they begin to understand that the toy is only fun

when they get to play with it with you.

Now another exercise will always do with our young puppies

are some luring exercises

and that's simply teaching our puppy to follow food.

Now following food is going to be really helpful

if you want to train your dog to do any tricks

or you want to teach your puppy to walk on a loose leash.

It's even helpful for things like the down and sit command.

But with our puppies, as they're eight, nine, 10 weeks old,

we're just going to lure them around a little bit.

And when they really commit to that food,

we might make it as challenging or as easy as your puppy

is capable of following.

We're just going to lure them around,

we're not gonna give them any commands,

we're not going to ask them to do anything.

All they need to do is follow that food.

Now if your puppy gets distracted easily or doesn't like,

seems to not be that interested in the food.

You might need to reward them a little more frequently

or pick a little higher value food reward.

Now don't make it too tough,

you just want to maybe turn your puppy a little bit.

Yes, and reward.

You might want to...

Let's see if I can get Hippy Shake to just move around.

She went into a down position.

I can, yes, reward her.

We're not really looking for anything specific

but we definitely want our puppies to follow this food.

Okay, buddy.

And these luring exercises

are really going to help you down the road

with some of your obedience training.

Now we often talk about the value of a crate

when you're training a puppy

And whether you're using it

as a safe place for your puppy to be

when you aren't able to supervise them.

Or you're using it as a limited space area

so that you can speed up their potty training.

The crate is a really useful tool.

Now, something we need to do with our puppies

is have them build a positive association with that crate.

And a great way to do that

is by feeding your puppy each of their meals

inside the crate.

So I'm just gonna tell Hippy Shake, "Okay"

and then I'm gonna put her dinner inside here.

Now if you have any challenges with your crate training,

we posted a video not that long ago.

And I'll post a card to it above that you can check out

and it'll really teach your puppy

to love being in their crate.

So by doing these exercises in the first few weeks

that you bring your puppy home,

you're really starting to lay the foundation

of learning for your puppy.

You're also beginning to understand how they like to learn,

which can be a really helpful tool

when you're training them.

Now if this is your first time on the channel

and you consider your dog a member of the family,

make sure you hit that subscribe button.

We publish new videos every single week

to help you to have a well-behaved

four-legged family member.

Do you see that playlist beside us?

That's actually our puppy training tips playlist

and I think you're gonna find

some of those videos helpful as well.

On that note, I'm Ken, this is Hippy Shake.

Happy training.

I'm just like my country I'm young, scrappy and hungry and I'm not throwing away my vote

We're gonna show up

DPS Celebrates More Graduates, Continued Improvement - Duration: 1:46.

With a new school year

(nat sound) (bell rings)

comes new celebrations in Denver Public Schools. "Currently I'm a junior. In the fall I'm looking at taking college classes."

At C-E-C Early College:

"...had 109 students join us, 109 cross the

graduation stage." (applause)

It's the school's largest graduating class,

in recent memory.

And even more remarkable?

"This year, the class of 2018, with over 4,820 graduates,

is the largest class ever in the history of Denver Public Schools."

It maintains an upward trend seen district-wide

over the past decade – following the Denver Plan reforms.

Far Northeast Denver has amongst the greatest growth with a 130-percent increase in diplomas

earned.

(Spanish)

In Southwest Denver, another ovation.

This one for some of our city's younger students at Knapp Elementary.

"Our kids closed the achievement

gap by 5 points in language arts, and 10 points in math.

Which is absolutely astounding."

And altogether, Denver's kids are making

greater academic growth in both English language arts, and math, than their peers across Colorado.

And English language learners now significantly outperform their peers statewide.

"And when we celebrate and strengthen the biliteracy of our students, not only do they be able to continue

and strengthen in their native language of Spanish, but they just excel that much more strongly

in English."

It couldn't happen without educators, and

their students… who are already hard at work, making this school year the best one

yet.
