hi I'm Erin, one of the hardest things about ranch life is that there is no
such thing as calling in sick regardless of how bad you feel I'm actually pretty
sick today and have been lost few days the work still needs to be done so today
I'm going to tell you all about what we have going on and how I'm going to deal
with being sick but still get the work done on our wyoming life
today's video is gonna be a little bit different than what you guys typically
see here on our wyoming life I'm really pretty sick I just have a cold but it's
really been wearing me down these last few days yesterday even I had to go take
a nap that's how bad it was in the middle of the day so we are getting
ready for our farm-to-table dinner which is coming up on Sunday and you know
everything is usually we're always busy here on the ranch but this week it's
just so much worse because of farm-to-table dinner the work that we
need to do every week has been about quadrupled the girls also started school
this year or this week on Tuesday they have their first day of school Kenzie
went into second grade and gray started kindergarten this morning I also had to
take link into preschool orientation he gets to start preschool next Tuesday so
we've been busy taking care of kids getting them ready for school and then
also I got this cold that Lincoln was so nice to share with me and so I really
just wanted to spend you know time of course getting better but the work still
needs to be done so I'm gonna show you the things that we've been doing to get
ready for farm to table mics here in the background actually getting the shop
ready to go we've had the place mode we've had some friends come out and help
and I even made my own little project list on the board of all the things that
need to get done before farm to table we spent the last couple of days crossing
things off but now it's Thursday and it's time for me to pick and wash
vegetables because we're still going to farmers market on Saturday so today I'm
gonna spend time picking and washing vegetables and I'm going to be picking
vegetables for the farm-to-table dinner also it's gonna be a really long busy
day just like the last few days have been so I'm gonna show you some of the
stuff that we've been doing to get ready for farm-to-table
Sunday morning you'll still get a video from us and then we're gonna actually
show that same video to the people that come to our farm to table dinner but you
guys on YouTube get to see it first and Mike's currently working on that
when he's not outside getting things ready for the dinner
and then Tuesday we'll probably have a recap of all the fun and exciting things
that are happening here at farm-to-table this week has been all about divide and
conquer so I watched as Mike and I tackle the farm-to-table project list
and we explore the ranch life and escape the ordinary
I just want to thank you guys for taking your time to spend time with us today
and thank everybody for all the birthday wishes that I got last week it was very
enjoyable to read all those comments and I enjoyed sharing my birthday with you
guys so thank you for that being sick this week has just been the most
inconvenient thing and maybe it was the stress maybe it's just been all summer
long of too much work and not enough downtime
unfortunately that is just the the way our ranch life is we are it's hard for
us to say no and I love doing the farm-to-table dinner it's one of my
favorite things that I look forward to all year long it's also one of the most
stressful things for us all year long and even then we started the prep and
the planning way back in February it seems like these last couple weeks right
before a farm-to-table things get really hectic so I think one of the things that
we've really learned being on the ranch almost 10 years now is that there is no
such thing as sick days and regardless of how ill I feel we just have to get up
and we have to do the work because there's there's people depending on us
and there's animals depending on us and Mike very rarely gets to well we never
get to have a day where we don't go do something so I think it's a true
testament to all farmers and ranchers that we we all get up out of bed and we
all go do the work that has to be done every day and I appreciate the hard work
that the ranch has taught us and now I'm gonna go get to work and get some
vegetables picked Mike's working and cleaning up the shop and you know come
Sunday at 4 o'clock there's gonna be 75 people here and and we will be ready one
way or another I am trying to get as much rest as possible we went to bed
really early last night I've been drinking lots of fluids taking lots of
vitamin C I do feel better today than I did yesterday so I think things are on
the mend and by Sunday I hope that I sound a lot better and I know I look
really tired and exhausted today but I do feel better than I did yesterday
so again on Tuesday Mike will have the farm-to-table recap video for you guys
and Sunday it's gonna kind of be a little
bit of a surprise but you guys will see Sunday morning the video that we're
gonna show to our guests at farm-to-table dinner that evening so
thank you guys for joining me and I will see you later and and of course Lincoln
when he's sick wants to be really cuddly Oh cat all right starting over that
we've been doing to get ready for farm-to-table and then on Sunday no no I
just rambled on what do you do it yeah what what are you doing for a video on
Sunday so this last week has been all about farm-to-table and feel like I'm
rambling okay I'm done
