SNAPlife: Willpower Keeps You Moving - s2e2 - Duration: 4:08.

Hi, I'm Bill Snodgrass, and in this episode we're gonna be talking about willpower.

If you're listening to this as a podcast I'd like to invite you to hop over maybe

check out the videos on my youtube channel which is youtube.com/ billsnodgrass,

and likewise, if you're watching the video be aware that down in the

description you can find links to the podcast versions of some of the… some of

the video content. Willpower… we talked about it earlier before, and in a

previous episode we said willpower is that thing that finally moves you from

wishing that you wanted to do something to actually wanting to do it we're gonna

take a little different spin on it this time this time we're talking about

willpower as the thing that keeps you going after you have actually started to

make some sort of the life change willpower being that thing that keeps

you going I had a comment from a viewer one who said that it was like a tenacity

concept that willpower was was more that thing that keeps you back in the groove

going forward towards that thing you thought was a good idea so there's a

first supposition is that that we suppose this thing that we're trying to

do is a good idea and as you're going along that is very natural to get to the

place where you where you start to feel like it's too much work and it's not a

good thing or it's just not worth it you have to take a pause there and you have

to analyze what was it they use that started you on this path in the first

place is that still valid is that still a good reason was the reason whatever it

was that moved you from thinking it was a good idea to actually making it

something that you were going to do is that still true and is it valid and if

it's still true and it's still valid then you need to keep going and how do

you do that this is probably one of the hardest things for anyone to do this is

is delaying gratification we are so driven by the pleasure pain

well that if something is pleasurable we want to do it and we want to do it right

away yeah this this drives us to make

deferring grad gratification very very difficult and that's what is going to

make the give you the will to go on when things start getting you know a little

less desirable than than they were when you first started down the path the

ability to say that thing that I'm working for is more valuable than this

thing I want to do that prevents me from getting there that thing that I'm

working for whatever it is if it's if it is a healthier lifestyle the healthier

lifestyle is more valuable in the long run than this Snickers bar or this Milky

Way bar or this pan of chocolate fudge this bowl of ice cream that healthy

lifestyle that I'm working for is more valuable in the long run then this is in

the immediate moment that's what the light gratification is and willpower to

go on is that embracing that ability to delay gratification now someone will

come back and say well there's another aspect of willpower you haven't thought

about this and I hope you do please leaving that comment let me know and I

will try to address that in a future episode but that's all for this episode

please click the like button subscribe to channel sign up for notifications

leave me a comment a question a suggestion and idea for a future topic

that is all for this episode I will see you in the next one

Cuscuz no Café da Manhã / Breakfast with Cuscuz - Duration: 6:38.

Hi everybody welcome to Batistenha Homestead, I'm Joselito and Iva is up

there, she will come down soon and we will make some breakfast in family.

New year new life, how was the your new years evening?

how was it for you? Everything went well here, thank God.

So we want to share with you today, this moment of ours here

drinking this coffee as a family. I'm going to prepare a Northeastern couscous and Iva will

do some eggs some thing here and let's go and prepare this cuscuz,

stay with us. Let's start here our couscous, this cuzcuzeira we won from someone

I do not know who gave it to us but it is serving the purpose.

Iva does not like bread, and I like couscous, and she learned to eat couscous

here with the Northeastern. So we do a little bit

Rhaylan does not like it either, so it's just for me and Iva. And now we put it here, it's going to stay

a few minutes there sweating. This cuscuzeira probably came from Brazil,

someone brought it from Brazil and then got another and decided to give this one to us, it's

the ideal size.

What are you going to do there? Scrambled eggs with spinach

You used a pig fat there. fat that we did it ourselves in Batistenha

and drawing from the pork belly

Today even Rhaylan will eat couscous,

Guys here is our coffee morning.

Thank you for joining us here at Batistenha's kitchen, are you served?

come have coffee with us. Thank you very much one more time, I am

Joselito I'm Rhaylan I'm Iva.

Do you ever BREAK WITH TRADITION? - Duration: 4:22.

hi have you ever broken with tradition have you ever done something differently

from the way you've done it all the rest of your life why don't you write about

it in the comments below because I think it's interesting I'm going to tell you

three stories of how I broke with tradition and you can either write what

you understand in the comments below is it listening comprehension or you can

write your own things this is Susan Brodar from SPEAK

Languages and TRAVEL the World here to help you improve your English with

minimum effort maximum benefits and as you can maybe hear you may not be able

to see it it's Christmas Day but I've broken with tradition

I'm not sitting at home as I used to do in the cold I've joined my son who's

based in Tenerife er for his job but and I'm spending Christmas day here with all

my family but we're in the warm air we're in the sea at the seaside sorry

and we're not in the cold we're not in the snow we do have a Christmas tree but

it's a very small one and that's just so we don't break completely with tradition

however we're we spent the morning at the beach and we made our own Christmas

lunch so that's where we broke with tradition our normal traditional

Christmas was opening the presents in the morning then going to join the rest

of our family and having a delicious homemade meal and spending the afternoon

playing bingo this year instead we open our presents went to the beach then came

home always for a delicious homemade meal and then we are spending the

afternoon lazing a bit and we'll go for a nice walk along the beach in the

evening instead when I got married I got married in the mountains and it was the

16th of October so the doubt was will it snow or won't it

No and I did think of breaking with tradition and not wearing the

traditional long white dress but getting a ski suit a white ski suit for myself I

know a ski suit for my husband and we were supposed to take the chairlift all

the way to the top and then get married at the top of the mountain and ski down

that way we would have broken with tradition however it didn't snow it

snowed the next day and so we decided to get married in the little church just at

the bottom of the hill and it was an amazing wedding in any case but it was a

little bit more traditional I did hear of a couple who broke with tradition by

telling their friends that they were going to have a party it's a pub and

would the friends like to join them so all the friends turned up in their usual

jeans and t-shirts sweatshirts just for a normal pub meal but when they arrived

they discovered it was actually a wedding their friends were dressed a

little bit more formally they had the wedding there and then at the pub and

then they had the reception but they didn't want to bother their friends with

presents or formalities and that's why they decided to break with tradition and

not even tell them it was it was a wedding and I think it's an interesting

idea so why don't you tell us now what you've done down in the comments below

to break with tradition or if you want to recount the things you understood

that I told you about there were three things one how I broke with tradition on

Christmas Day this year or what I planned on doing with my

wedding or how the this young couple actually broke with tradition on their

wedding day okay I thought this was interesting just

to practice an idiom which is not so common and I look forward to hearing and

reading all about the comments that you have to put below that's all for today

bye enjoy

You Can't Waste Biltong - Between the Scenes | The Daily Show - Duration: 1:37.

- [Trevor] Anything else?

Can be about anything, news, anything.

Questions about anything.

Yes sir.

- [Man] Did you bring any souvenirs back from South Africa?

- [Trevor] Did I bring any souvenirs back from South Africa.

I did, I brought back what we call biltong

Which is basically our version

(laughter)

I'm getting to that. So -

Which is our version of jerky, alright.

And then I get to the airport so I have all this jerky

And then I get to the airport

And then there's like a giant sign at customs that says

"No meat products coming into the US"

Right, but now there's like the gap from baggage

To customs, and this stuff is delicious.

(laughter)

So then I take it out and I'm like

"I'm going to have to throw it away there."

I'm like "I can't throw it away, it's biltong."

So then I just start eating this down.

But I don't even realize how shady I look

'Cause what happened is I went to a trash can

Then I was like "I'm gonna throw it away."

Then I was like "No, why am I going to throw this away?"

So now I'm at the trash can, just like eating all this stuff

And then when I'm done I like go up to the guy

And the guy is like "Hey you, over here."

Then I was like "What?"

Then he was like "What do you mean what?"

What were you doing at the trash can?"

Then I'm like "What are you-

I don't know what you're talking about."

Then he's like "Let me search you."

Then they searched my bags, everything.

Then he's like

"Do you have any meat that you're bringing in?"

Then I was like "Not anymore."

(laughter)

Most SHOCKING Facts About GUN SILENCERS! - Duration: 10:01.

From making your own to learning how to use one, here are 8 surprising facts about gun silencers.

8.

Mufflers and Silencers The Silencer for guns has been around for

a very long time, and it might actually surprise you to learn that the man who first made the

Silencer for guns actually made the first mufflers for cars.

In fact, he also made the first gasoline powered car in the world.

His name was Hiram Percy Maxim, and he was every bit as genius as the inventions that

he made.

In fact, he actually came from a family of inventors, ones who had their own impact on

history.

Including his father, who made the first portable machine gun.

And his uncle, who invented special explosives and propellants.

Hiram himself was "associated' with these inventions, even though he had no part in

them, but hey, genetics are strong and history is fickle!

Maxim graduated from MIT at the young age of 17, proving his genius intellect.

Which was realized in full in 1899.

It was around this time that automobiles were truly coming alive, and there were conflicting

concepts as to how to make them last longer.

Maxim had the idea to use gasoline to power the car instead of a battery (a concept that

modern engineers are now trying to reverse).

But his concepts, which were originally for bikes, then used for cars, were picked up

by the Colombia Automobile Company, and the first gasoline-powered car was made.

With his invention a success, he started to develop more ways to make the automobiles

quieter, which eventually led to the official invention of the silencer.

Everyone got really nervous, believing that the device could be attached to criminal pistols,

but actually it was only able to attach to a sealed-breech rifle.

In any case, it was prohibited in many states and Maxim adapted the principle to mufflers,

safety valves, air compressors, blowers, the technology could be adapted to many different

things.

7.

The Sound Of Silencers Because of the name, Silencers have a lot

of myths surrounding them.

One of the biggest ones is that a Silencer truly "silences" a gun.

When in fact, it doesn't.

So what does it do then?

It suppresses the noise, muffles it, makes it less impactful.

What does that mean?

Well, think of it like this.

When a gun fires, there's a literal explosion that comes out of the barrel and shoots forward.

In that moment, the explosion causes a very loud sound.

According to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), the decibel level

that can cause hearing damage is about 140 decibels, though it can be lower and still

be impactful depending on what's being used.

For most guns, they range from 140-160, if not higher.

So, when you put a Silencer on a gun, it actually brings down the noise level.

How much?

It depends on the gun, most of them bring the noise level down 20 points, but some can

do even more.

In fact, there are some people who specialize in making silencers that truly bring the noise

level down, regardless of the gun that's being used.

However, no matter how much it's suppressed, it'll never be silent.

After all, the explosion has to happen.

So, unlike the movie and TV industry, gun sellers don't promote Silencers as Silencers,

they call them suppressors, which is actually a far more accurate name.

6.

Silencers Are Made For All Types Of Guns In most movies everyone has a handgun, especially

if it's an action movie with hitmen!!

It could be a big one, a small one, but it's a handgun.

But contrary to popular belief, they can be used for most basic guns.

What I mean is models like handguns, shotguns, machine guns, rifles, sniper rifles, and more.

On the surface, you might think it odd that something as loud and powerful as a shotgun

would need a silencer.

I mean those things are made to impress!

But not unlike handguns, there are needs out there for weapons that can emit as little

sound as possible in order to help get the job done and protect the shooter.

The military and armed forces are a good example of this.

When they are breaching a house, or pursuing an enemy, or taking out a target from long

range, the last thing they need is to draw more attention to themselves.

Not everyone is trying to be as loud as possible!

So, they use Silencers on their weapons to muffle the sounds so that they can do their

job with more ease.

Not to mention, in combat situations, with bullets flying and loud noises being made,

the less noise you have to shout over, the easier it is for your men to hear your orders.

Now, custom weapons, special orders, and certain other types of guns don't have an option for

a silencer on hand, barring another custom order.

But the standard weapons of the industry do have the option.

5.

Congress Debated Lifting Restrictions On Silencers Silencers are an incredibly useful tool for

a gun if used properly.

But, not unlike guns themselves, they can be abused.

At present, there are restrictions on who can get a silencer, and how you go about getting

one.

However, in 2017, Congress tried to pass a bill that would allow all restrictions on

Silencers to be lifted, thus allowing just about anyone to get their hands on one if

they wanted.

Many people on both sides have numerous opinions on this matter, including Jason Schauble,

who owns SilencersCo in Utah.

"Suppressors are really about taking shooting noise below 140 decibels, which is the OSHA

hearing-safe level," Schauble said.

"Many suppressors end up around 130 or 120 decibels, so around the volume of a car door

slamming."

Guns firing can be very harmful to the ears, and thus, silencers are prized as they can

limit the noise emitted by a firing gun.

It's for this reason that some people are ok with the bill passing, as it's helping

people maintain their hearing while still using guns for hunting and sport.

However, there are those who see the dark side of this coin, mainly, that criminals

just about anyone with bad intent could get these silencers and then use them to carry

out dark deeds without drawing too much attention to themselves.

People could easily use them for nefarious purposes, says Jack Rinchich, president of

the National Association of Chiefs of Police.

People don't want to draw attention with a muzzle flash or a blast.

However, they are legal almost everywhere in the US, but they are very difficult to

buy in theory.

4.

Criminals Don't Use Silencers That Much If you were to believe only television shows

and movies, then you would likely think that Silencers are on the ends of every single

gun in the United States, if not the world!!

But the fact of the matter is, that's actually not true.

It is true that there have been crimes committed with Silencers, including some rather high-profile

crimes.

However, on average, the typical criminal usually won't waste time with a Silencer for

numerous reasons.

First off, a Silencer is a literal extension of a gun, and thus, it adds to its size when

attached: Knox Williams, president of the American Suppressor

Association says that the majority of firearms used in crimes are small, concealable handguns.

"Folks want to be able to put something in a pocket or hide it in a waistband.

When you add a suppressor to that, you're generally adding 6 to 8 inches to the length

of a gun."

The other issue is that for a truly good Silencer, you need to be willing to pay for it.

It's a $1,000 thing to add to another expensive thing which just isn't really worth it.

Again, every case is different, but studies have shown that few criminals actually take

the time to get Silencers when speed and precision can be just as effective a method of getting

things done.

It should be noted though that the use of Silencers is growing in general.

More and more people are using them, good and bad.

3.

42 States Have Approved Silencers Given their ability, and their usefulness

for various acts, it's logical that there are restrictions and rules to owning a Silencer.

However, you might be surprised to know that in the United States, over four fifths of

the country allows people to own Silencers without issue.

They still have to follow the restrictions, but owning them isn't an issue for most.

Furthermore, 40 of the 42 states will allow hunters to use Silencers which makes many

rangers worried about poachers.

If you're curious, states that don't allow Silencers include California, New York, Illinois,

New Jersey and Massachusetts.

In 1932, there were bans on Silencers because of the fear of illegal poaching during the

Great Depression.

Now they are regulated by a 1934 law called the National Firearms Act.

The NFA includes silencers among other exotic firearms and require a special tax.

2.

How To Get A Silencer One of the reasons why Silencers aren't as

popular as many people think is because of the process that it takes to get one.

Outside of just the money costs, which at times are a minimum of $500-$600 depending

on the one you're getting, there's a long process to get one.

First, you need to go to a reputable dealer, such as SilencerCo in Utah.

You'll need to pick out the Silencer you want.

Then, depending on the dealer, you'll either have to pay for it upfront, or leave a deposit.

Then, you have to fill out paperwork, a lot of it.

Much of which is detailing your life so you can "show" that you are "capable" of using

the Silencer for its intended purpose.

Added to that, you'll need to submit certain documents to the government, including a fingerprints,

passport, etc.

After all that is done, you send the paperwork to both the government and your local law

enforcement officials.

Then you have to wait, usually for a looong time.

The ATF will be taking its time with every single application, and because of that, you

may not get your Silencer for some time.

Hence, why people would rather just go with the gun they have and wear ear protection

than waste time and money on a Silencer.

1.

Business Is Booming...For Now Despite all the restrictions and costs of

Silencers, the desire for them is actually growing.

According to SilencerCO, from 2014 on, their business has profited, with a 600% increase

in sales.

In 2016 alone they sold over 100,000 Silencers.

. However, given the political climate in the

US, iit will be interesting to see how things progress.

Due to recent events, Americans are becoming more wary of guns, but with over 300 million

guns in the US alone, there's going to be people who want Silencers, and there will

be people who want to sell them.

A lot of people are also learning how to make their own.

If you are thinking about doing this, make sure to be on the right side of the law and

be extra careful!!

Thanks for watching!

Planting a Ficus tree (Don't do it) - Duration: 5:03.

okay so this is one of the main reasons why I don't like felis trees now what

you're looking at here is the registro the entrance to my septic system so

those are the pipes coming out of my house and come from the two bathrooms

that are inside and it drops down and leads to another pipe which leads

directly to the septic tank which is about three meters four meters away

anyway this morning we had a leakage from this registro you can see on the

ground here was all wet so I took the lid off and I

looked inside and probably something that I should have been doing for

regular maintenance but one doesn't normally think of these things

this entire hole whatever you want to call it was full of roots so I got my

handy-dandy trusty shovel and took all of this root system out of here this is

all roots this entire wall was lined with them and the escape tube down the

bottom which you can't really see and I don't put my camera down in there but it

was plugged I was fortunate enough to be able to get it out a pair of rubber

gloves and get my hand in there and this what you're looking at here is about a

meter long of root system full of the residue of septic I might add but anyway

I'm just taking footage of this that I just pulled it out like maybe 20 minutes

ago I washed my hands and grabbed my camera to make

a quick video before I bury all this but before in my front yard I used to have

two giant ficus trees and right here in the front where you

can see there's kind of a there's kind of a brick wall right here a little

brick edging right there there was one too huge ficus trees and their roots

made it all the way under my house and into this septic system about ten years

ago so I immediately had my hired actually a guy to come out and chop down

the two trees in which I then proceeded to burn when they got dry but anyway the

the ficus is really not a good plant and I've got one down there in the back

behind my son there you can see there's a huge ficus tree which is getting

bigger by the by the year I already trimmed it down about three years ago I

I trimmed it way down but it grew back and it grew higher so anyway I'm gonna

have to eliminate that damn thing but just two things that this video

illustrates number one you don't plant ficus on your property

the only thing ficus serves any use what's whatsoever is for shade but it it

has a massive root system and even after 10 years of the trees being eliminated

that little piece of root of course being of course being fed through the

waste system the septic system managed to stay alive for you know within that

within that box and within the the tube whatever you want to call it

for ten damn years and the second thing is when you're living out here you got

to be able to do things yourself now if I had taking the time to call somebody

when I saw a problem I would have had some plumber come out here and I would

ended up paying I don't know how much to have that done so but I just did it

myself quicker and it wasn't that big of a win

that big of a mess but anyway that's how I spent this Sunday afternoon

ASMR Deutsch – Dickmann's Schokokuss-Brötchen + Zitronen T | Food & Drink - Duration: 3:22.

Let's go! Today, I got classic breakfast items.

We always got this when we were students: Zitronen T (lemon ice tea), our favorite drink and a Schokokuss bun.

We loved them and got them from a small Edeka supermarket.

There was a small bakery and we took freshly made ones with a fresh bun and a nice Dickmann's Schokokuss. Let's check them out.

For all the people who don't know this: it is an egg white foam covered with chocolate and a wafer.

And it is quite special and very, very cool.

So, this is how it looks like.

And now you just squeeze it together.

And when you open it up again, you got the nice Dickmann all over the bun.

Exactly as it used to be.

It is tasty.

Very cool and I would give the Schokokuss bun:

73 points.

Ok, let's continue with the lemon ice tea, I will show you the colour.

This is how it looks like, lemony.

Classic drink.

This is certainly one of the drinks that I have drunken the most in my lifetime.

75 points.

Ok, guys, that's it for today. I hope you liked the video. Outro.

One Week After Couple Adopts Triplets, Their Doctor Gives Them This Incredible News - Duration: 7:32.

One week after couple adopts triplets their doctor gives them this incredible news

Life can and will throw you a curveball many times throughout your lifetime

This is particularly true in the case of Sarah and Andy a couple from Tulsa, Oklahoma

Who were desperately trying to be parents?

After years of unsuccessful attempts at trying the justice family decided that it was time. They considered adoption

However, much like their three long years of waiting to conceive the adoption process would be just as long and frustrating

However, the couple persevered and they were given the chance to adopt not one baby, but three

However, once they adopted the triplets something unbelievable and miraculous happened soon after

Sarah and Andy had been married for three years and while they enjoyed their life together

They felt as though something was missing

The one thing they truly wanted was children of their own it certainly wasn't for lack of trying

It was just that they weren't having the best of luck

However, after three years of waiting it seemed as though they'd have to ask for a third party for help

So Sarah and Andy decided that it was time to ask for the advice of fertility experts in

2014 the couple traveled from their comfortable home in Tulsa, Oklahoma

To st. Louis, Missouri to seek out the help of a fertility specialist

The justices had driven six hours and when they arrived all they received was more bad news

The specialist told the frustrated couple that while the pair were perfect candidates for in vitro fertilization treatment

There was still only a 10% chance that they could become pregnant

The process was also more invasive than they were prepared to deal with more than that. The entire process wasn't exactly a cheap one

As it turns out the in-vitro fertilization process cost a lot of money

It would cost the justices between thirty and sixty thousand dollars

So between the very expensive cost and the low percentage that it could actually occur

The couple decided that it wasn't the right path for them. So the couple decided to move on to the next step adoption

Even though adoption had some difficulties as well

It seemed like the next best option for instance

The process of adoption can take years to finalize and the justices were more interested in adopting newborn babies

Regardless they were willing to do whatever possible in order to get a good outcome

they began with a series of interviews as

Part of the adoption process Sarah and Andy had to be interviewed by prospective birth mothers

To help determine if they'd be fitting parents for their child while the interviews were cordial and successful

They were extremely tiring and stressful for the Justus family

unfortunately for the couple their struggle to build their family wasn't over in the slightest the

Justices had finally been accepted as adoptive parents on two separate occasions following the interviews in both cases

The birth mothers ended up changing their minds at the last second and decided not to follow through it

So just when it seemed like things would go smoothly. They had to begin the process all over again

However, they weren't about to give up so easily

When the couple was at their lowest, they received a call that would change their lives

One of the expectant mothers had accepted them as parents

So they met with her again and they even went with her to an ultrasound appointment

During the scan everything seemed perfectly normal, but there was one surprise that nobody in the room could expect the woman was having triplets

Rather than just try and renegotiate the agreement the justices decided to just move forward with the entire adoption and adopt all three children

The papers were signed and Sarah and Andy were about to become the proud parents of three beautiful newborn babies something they weren't exactly

prepared for

The situation actually ended up suiting the couple perfectly they planned on having more than one child

But they were dreading on going through the adoption process a second time. It seemed they had the perfect situation

Three children all at once they were ready to meet their newborn triplets

The babies Hannah Joel and Elizabeth were born in May of 2013

Life then threw another curveball at the family when the triplets were born eight weeks early

the tiny babies weighed only three pounds each which meant they had to be kept in neonatal intensive care for

quite a while before they could go home with their parents a

Week after the baby's premature birth

Sarah Justus decided go to a doctor's appointment one day as normal the stress of the entire situation have been affecting her health

And she wanted to make sure she was in top shape by the time her triplets came home

When the doctor came in he gave Sara the most unbelievable news, Sara wasn't sick at all. She was pregnant

It was a miracle and not only was she just pregnant but she was also having twins

Fate is a very odd thing and so his life

While this amazing and highly unlikely occurrence would have felt like awful timing to many people

The justices were absolutely thrilled the irony of the situation. Absolutely

Amused them and they weren't prepared for the difficulty that would come with raising five children all under a year old

However, emotionally Sara and Andy were more than prepared

They were shocked, of course who wouldn't be?

but they had been longing for a family of their own for so long that they couldn't help but feel the situation was quite a

blessing

Soon they had welcomed their biological twins, Andrew and Abigail into their home as well

Life with five kids was sure going to be a big adjustment

Of course

The situation wouldn't be an easy one with five hungry kids the couple didn't really sleep much during the first few months

Luckily Sara had the help from their wonderful community and their family

friends neighbors

Members of their parish and many other members of the community all pitched in to help the family and the new parents of five

Members of Tulsa's Eastland Baptist Church began to send over food for the family as well

They'd sent cooked meals frozen dinner and baby formula

Their friends from the church even offered to help watch the five justice babies while the couple was away at work

And it wasn't just food that their family gave them Tulsa donated diapers bottles blankets and clothing to the Justice family

These supplies were sorely needed the five infants ended up going through 300 diapers and 84 bottles every week

Since it was such a huge task to get the kids from place to place the justices had to buy a bigger van

Sarah and Andy had a little bit of a tough time telling the babies apart at first

Even though there was an age difference. So to fix this they came up with a system to tell them apart

The boys were easy, but for their older daughters Hannah and Elizabeth, the parents used different coloured toenail polish

the justices soon became internet celebrities

The story of the justices ordeal immediately went viral and in the three years that passed since the justices became parents

They gained a very large following on social media the world was constantly watching and looking at their great photos and updates about the kids

The couple who had thought they'd never be parents even welcomed a sixth child in January as of 2016

Even though their life is incredibly hectic the justices say that they wouldn't change it for the world

Their lives have become all about the children, but they feel like it's a good thing

Sarah said it was something we wanted so badly that we loved it. We just really love having these children

End Racial Preferences at Colleges? - Duration: 4:33.

A lawsuit against Harvard.

The outcome could affect the future

of affirmative action.

Harvard has been sued for

illegally discriminating against Asian-Americans.

The legal action forced the school

to make its admissions data public

for the first time.

That did reveal that Asian applicants

must score 22 points higher on the SAT than whites,

63 points higher than blacks.

Nevertheless,

Harvard denies it discriminates

against Asian Americans or any other group.

Harvard says, race is just one factor

among many.

That is just a lie.

Lee Cheng supports the students suing the school.

Harvard didn't just use race as one of many factors.

It was the determinative factor.

Harvard says many Americans of Asian descent

don't get in because they score lower in

personal attributes.

Harvard rated Asian Americans on personality,

right, on subjective factors like likability

and courage lower.

This is because Asian Americans

are boring little grade grubbers.

They just focus on getting good grades

and good test scores.

I can categorically say that's bullshit.

If you only look at grades and test scores,

it looks like a lot of discrimination against Asians.

Economist Harry Holzer,

who went to Harvard, defends the school.

Asians are not interesting?

They don't have interesting qualities?

The personal ratings reflect

a wide range of characteristics.

Now it's possible.

It's possible that some of that is anti-Asian bias,

but you certainly can't prove that.

I don't think they're discriminating against Asians

but I assume they're discriminating for

blacks and Latinos

because there's been a history of discrimination.

I wouldn't label it discrimination.

I would label it as leveling the playing field.

Isn't that discrimination?

No, no, it's,

it's race conscious assistance and

when you have a long history of discrimination

based on race,

you have to take race into account.

Hasn't Harvard,

like lots of other schools,

been deceitful about

what they're doing?

They basically lied for years.

I don't know if they were lying,

they were putting their own spin.

This case is expected to get to the Supreme Court,

and the new court may ban racial preferences.

If that happens,

you'll see a large increase

in the white student population,

and you see a precipitous decline

in the black and Latino student population,

about 50%.

50% decline in those of color.

Harvard would be a less interesting place

if that happens.

There are many, many, different ways

to achieve diversity

without discriminating against Asian Americans.

The reality is that race-focused affirmative action

helps rich people.

Seventy percent of the students

of every ethnic group at Harvard

come from the top 20 percent

of family income.

I think It's okay that some of the minorities

admitted under affirmative action come from

higher income families.

Race in America matters,

at any level of income.

The groups that are harmed the most

are actually poor whites and poor Asians.

Cheng is passionate about ending racial preferences

because when he was in the 8th grade,

he applied to San Francisco's Lowell High School.

I was just shocked when I found out

I had to score higher than kids of any other ethnic

group because I've just taken civics.

I was just taught in civics and history

that in America everybody was supposed to be equal

under the law.

Lowell High School excels in everything

from music to math.

Cheng got in to that high school, but –

The kids who were negatively affected

were the kids of the dishwashers and the seamstresses

who lived in Chinatown, who were very poor.

Cheng later went to Harvard.

He became a lawyer

and successfully sued San Francisco

over its race-based preferences.

We got rid of the quotas in San Francisco.

You Asians, we white people.

We're doing well in America.

We don't need extra help,

but some other groups do,

and there's a history of nasty discrimination

against them.

Isn't it Harvard's job to

try to make up for some of that?

The right path

out of the history of discrimination

against individuals based on race is not more

discrimination based on race.

I have three kids,

and I'll be damned if I'm going to not fight

very, very hard to make sure that they don't get

treated as second-class citizens

in the land in which they were born.

Most EXPENSIVE And INSANE Pools That Cost A FORTUNE! - Duration: 10:31.

From pools in a palace, covered in gold to the largest pools in the world, here are 8

of the most expensive swimming pools in the world that cost a fortune!!

8.

Umaid Bhawan Palace Located in India, the Umaid Bhawan Palace

is more than just a place to swim.

It's actually both a resort and one of the official royal palaces for the royal family

of India.

It was constructed in 1943 after 15 years of work.

It is so huge, it provided jobs to over 3,500 people!!

It was so large, that at the time, it was considered the largest home in the world.

The pool itself is rather special, as it's actually underground and inside the residence

itself.

It's called the "Zodiac" and was designed in the style of Art Deco.

Why is it called "Zodiac"?

Well, if you go to the bottom of the pool, you'll find yourself looking at Mosaics depicting

the twelve symbols of the Zodiac.

But that's not the real "value" of the pool room, for both the walls and the ceiling are

covered in gold tiles.

Thousands of them in fact.

And should you be lucky enough, you can go there today and actually swim with members

of the Indian royal family, who still live there at times.

All told, the pool and palace (at the time of its construction), cost around $225,000

which would be around $3.2 million by today's standards.

Now, it is considered almost priceless.

7.

Gellert Bath Houses Back in the ancient times, it was actually

quite common practice for people to not bathe in their own homes, but in bath houses.

It was a place to get clean and hang out with other.

In 1912, the construction of the Gellert Bath Houses in Budapest, Hungary was complete.

Its style was meant to mix with the popular construction of the period, Art Nouveau.

This style adds to the class of the bath house, as fine marble and art cover the place, allowing

users to relax and enjoy a fine art show.

These bath houses aren't just one pool, but rather, several.

There are about 7,500 square feet to wade around in with varying temperatures and decor.

For those looking for a different kind of experience here, there are also wave pools,

kid pools, and even an authentic Roman bath.

However, its best feature is that the water isn't just "regular" water.

They're fed by hot mineral springs, which users claim have "healing properties".

The actual springs have been considered sacred for years, back to the time of the Knights

Templar.

You can test these properties for yourself, as these bath houses are open to the public

at large.

At the time they were built, the cost of the entire construction was about $425,000.

By today's standards, that would equal about $10 million!!!

And now for number 6, but first, what's your favorite pool?

Let us know in the comments below!

And be sure to subscribe if you are new here!

We have LOTS new videos coming up!! 6.

Nemo 33 Most people forget that there are actually

three levels of measurement, width, length, and height.

Another word to use for height measurement is depth, and if you want to find the deepest

man-made pool in the world, you need to go to Belgium.

Specifically, to Brussels and the Nemo 33 pool.

How deep does this pool go?

Well, how about 108 feet deep?

The pool is so deep that it requires 600,000 gallons of water to fill it all.

Now, you might be curious as to what the point of this pool is.

Well, it's many fold.

First off, the pool isn't just a basic pool to splash around in.

There are actually rooms and tunnels within the pool that you can go into.

And this also gives scuba divers a chance to practice or swim without having to worry

about the natural conditions of the ocean.

Not so ironically, many movie and TV productions use this pool to film their underwater scenes,

as it allows them more control over what is going on in the pool.

Granted, because of this, this isn't a pool that "just anyone" can go to and have fun

in.

But if book a class, and you have the right equipment, you'll have a blast.

All in all, the Nemo 33 pool took 7 years to build, and by the end of its construction,

it took $3 million dollars to make.

5.

Hearst Castle Hearst Castle in California has two pools

that are equally powerful and expensive.

The Neptune pool itself actually began construction in 1924 for the original residents of the

castle, and it took 12 years to make.

By the end of its construction, the pool reached 108 feet in length, with an average width

of 58 feet, and 95 feet at the alcove.

The depth reaches from 3.5 feet deep to 10 feet deep.

The second pool was built on the inside, and is a bit smaller than the Neptune Pool.

Here's the catch, while they aren't the biggest pools in the world, they are arguably some

of the most elegant.

They were crafted to match Roman era style pools, and thus have marble and tile designs

that in today's market would be a literal fortune to acquire, let alone make them into

pools.

This isn't even mentioning some of the artwork that lies around the pools, including statues

made by Italian craftsmen.

And the Neptune Pool has parts of its design literally lined with gold.

Pricing the pools is a bit difficult, as the cost to the owners isn't known.

However, including the pools and the property they're on together gives you a total of around

$10 million dollars.

Pretty impressive!!!

Lev Leviev Residence Many of the world's most expensive pools aren't

for the public, or even for paid recreation.

Rather, they're for the elite who can afford such magnificent pools, such as the one you'll

find in Lev Leviev Residence in the United Kingdom.

Despite it being in the UK, it's actually owned by an Israeli businessman named Lev

Leviev, who personally paid for the construction of a lavish estate/private home that in total

cost $68 million dollars.

All so that he and his family could have a "nice" home.

Pretty cool, right??

I'd never want to leave!!

One of the most luxurious parts about this private residence is the pool.

Which is one of the most expensive private pools in the world.

Why?

Well, the indoor pool has gold in it.

And not just being lined with gold, it's actually comprised of gold tiles.

That's a gold to fill up a pool via tiles.

Not to mention that the residence has a personal spa and sauna.

But, when the time comes to be an entertaining host, Lev can use a special retractable cover

in order to make sure that the pool is covered, and turn it into a ballroom!!

You'll have to have connections to get invited though, so if you know anyone and can get

me in, let me know!!!

3.

San Alfonso del Mar When you think of a swimming pool, what do

you picture?

More than likely you picture a space that is full of people having fun in a menagerie

of ways, but for the most part, it's just people in the pool.

But, in Chile, at San Alfonso del Mar, they decided that it wasn't good enough.

They wanted to make a pool so big that you could do more than any other pool before it.

So, they made a swimming pool that was 20 acres in size.

Not to mention, one that was almost a mile end to end.

On average, the San Alfonso del Mar is actually 6000 times bigger than most public swimming

pools.

That's a lot of swimming space.

So much so that in 2008, it was dubbed the largest swimming pool in the world.

But you might be asking yourself, "Why did they make it that big?

Surely it can't be just for swimming?"

And you would be right, the San Alfonso del Mar was made as big as it was to service those

who would want to go sailing in their waters.

That's right, you can actually sail a ship (of decent size) in the "pool".

The construction of San Alfonso del Mar literally changed the world in regards to how pools

are viewed, and many other mega-pools have been built like it since.

In total, the pool itself cost $2 billion dollars, and it took 5 years to make.

Also, the entire pool is filled with ocean water that was actually purified via a special

process so that people could swim in it without getting sick or feel like they've bathed in

salt water.

2.

Seagaia Ocean Dome As most people know, there are really two

types of pools, regardless of the size they are.

The first is an outdoor pool.

The other is an indoor pool.

If you're looking for the largest indoor pool in the world, then you need to go to Japan

and experience the Seagaia Ocean Dome.

Ironically, the Seagaia Ocean Dome is part of a resort that has both outdoor and indoor

pools.

The pool itself, the inside one, is 1000 feet long, and 328 feet wide.

One of its most defining features though is its roof.

For the roof can both be retracted, and kept over the pool to ensure that it's warm no

matter what the weather is outside.

But that's not the only attraction, for the builders made sure that people inside could

still feel the rush of being out on the oceans.

So, they made it so people can actually surf waves in the pool at regular intervals.

And as though that wasn't enough, you can also see an artificial volcano erupt every

15 minutes.

For families, there's a smaller children's pool next to the big one, and a waterslide

area for extra fun.

The Seagaia Ocean Dome opened in 1993 after its $2 billion dollar construction.

It was closed in 2007 to start renovations and it's been kind of an on-again, off-again

project so not sure if it's going to be torn down or reopened.

Do you?

If you have any info, let us know in the comments below!!!

1.

City Of Stars When it comes to having the most expensive

pool in the world, there is only one true choice, and that's the City Of Stars pool

in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.

This pool was built by those who made the San Alfonso del Mar pool in Chile, and they

used their expertise to make this one truly shine like a star.

Just in terms of size, the City of Stars pool is massive, coming in at 21 acres.

To that end, this makes it the largest pool in the world, beating out San Alfonso del

Mar by one acre.

The pool itself is part of the resort that is called City Of Stars, which has 30,000

rooms that people can be in and then go and enjoy the pool to.

But of course, with all of this size, and the water it needed to be treated so that

the pool could be filled, the cost was very high.

In fact, it cost $5.5 billion dollars just to make this pool.

Thanks for watching!

Can you believe how expensive some of these pools are?

Which one would you be tempted to go and have fun in?

Stossel: End Racial Preferences at Colleges? - Duration: 4:23.

A lawsuit against Harvard.

The outcome could affect the future

of affirmative action.

Harvard has been sued for

illegally discriminating against Asian-Americans.

The legal action forced the school

to make its admissions data public

for the first time.

That did reveal that Asian applicants

must score 22 points higher on the SAT than whites,

63 points higher than blacks.

Nevertheless,

Harvard denies it discriminates

against Asian Americans or any other group.

Harvard says, race is just one factor

among many.

That is just a lie.

Lee Cheng supports the students suing the school.

Harvard didn't just use race as one of many factors.

It was the determinative factor.

Harvard says many Americans of Asian descent

don't get in because they score lower in

personal attributes.

Harvard rated Asian Americans on personality,

right, on subjective factors like likability

and courage lower.

This is because Asian Americans

are boring little grade grubbers.

They just focus on getting good grades

and good test scores.

I can categorically say that's bullshit.

If you only look at grades and test scores,

it looks like a lot of discrimination against Asians.

Economist Harry Holzer,

who went to Harvard, defends the school.

Asians are not interesting?

They don't have interesting qualities?

The personal ratings reflect

a wide range of characteristics.

Now it's possible.

It's possible that some of that is anti-Asian bias,

but you certainly can't prove that.

I don't think they're discriminating against Asians

but I assume they're discriminating for

blacks and Latinos

because there's been a history of discrimination.

I wouldn't label it discrimination.

I would label it as leveling the playing field.

Isn't that discrimination?

No, no, it's,

it's race conscious assistance and

when you have a long history of discrimination

based on race,

you have to take race into account.

Hasn't Harvard,

like lots of other schools,

been deceitful about

what they're doing?

They basically lied for years.

I don't know if they were lying,

they were putting their own spin.

This case is expected to get to the Supreme Court,

and the new court may ban racial preferences.

If that happens,

you'll see a large increase

in the white student population,

and you see a precipitous decline

in the black and Latino student population,

about 50%.

50% decline in those of color.

Harvard would be a less interesting place

if that happens.

There are many, many, different ways

to achieve diversity

without discriminating against Asian Americans.

The reality is that race-focused affirmative action

helps rich people.

Seventy percent of the students

of every ethnic group at Harvard

come from the top 20 percent

of family income.

I think It's okay that some of the minorities

admitted under affirmative action come from

higher income families.

Race in America matters,

at any level of income.

The groups that are harmed the most

are actually poor whites and poor Asians.

Cheng is passionate about ending racial preferences

because when he was in the 8th grade,

he applied to San Francisco's Lowell High School.

I was just shocked when I found out

I had to score higher than kids of any other ethnic

group because I've just taken civics.

I was just taught in civics and history

that in America everybody was supposed to be equal

under the law.

Lowell High School excels in everything

from music to math.

Cheng got in to that high school, but –

The kids who were negatively affected

were the kids of the dishwashers and the seamstresses

who lived in Chinatown, who were very poor.

Cheng later went to Harvard.

He became a lawyer

and successfully sued San Francisco

over its race-based preferences.

We got rid of the quotas in San Francisco.

You Asians, we white people.

We're doing well in America.

We don't need extra help,

but some other groups do,

and there's a history of nasty discrimination

against them.

Isn't it Harvard's job to

try to make up for some of that?

The right path

out of the history of discrimination

against individuals based on race is not more

discrimination based on race.

I have three kids,

and I'll be damned if I'm going to not fight

very, very hard to make sure that they don't get

treated as second-class citizens

in the land in which they were born.

People Make ASMR Videos For The First Time With A Zippo Lighter - Duration: 1:41.

Is it only three letters?

– Four. <I>– Four!</I>

– A, S – Oh my God! – [LAUGHS]

– I have no idea what ASMR is. – He couldn't say it earlier.

– Amsr? Asmr? Asmr. – Asmr, yeah, he's got it now.

I know that ASMR is supposed to give you this, like, tingly feeling?

I have to whisper the whole time?

– I'm really bad at whispering. – You're dealing with probably the two worst whisperers. – Yeah, seriously.

[WHISPERING] Let's do some ASMR with a Zippo lighter.

[LOUDLY] Yeah, mine is super light

[WHISPERING] – SHHHH! – Sorry!

[WHISPERING] – You're destroying my ASMR vibe. – I'm sorry!

[WHISPERING] Mine, like, creaks.

[WHISPERING] That's got to sound good to someone.

[CREAK]

[WHISPERING] – Oooh! – Oh, that is good.

[CRACKLE]

[WHISPERING] Ohhh, that crackle is good.

[WHISPERING] It just reminds me of wind, blowing on a bonfire on the beach.

[DRAGGING]

[WHISPERING] Ohhhhhhh…

[LAUGHS]

[CLICK]

[WHISPERING] – How did you do that? – I don't know.

[WHISPERING] Now we're gonna try to make ASMR with these objects.

[WHISPERING] This is what it sounds like brushing my hair

[TEARING]

[WHISPERING] Oh yeah…

<I>Steph, what do you think we're gonna do?</I>

[WHISPERING] I think we're gonna make weird, squelchy sounds.

[SQUELCHING]

[WHISPERING] Ew, God… ugh.

[SQUELCHING]

[WHISPERING] It's painful.

[SQUELCHING]

[WHISPERING] – Yeah, it is bad! – Oh, it's disgusting.

[WHISPERING] Never going to be able to put lotion on my hands again.

[WHISPERING] I love it!

[WHISPERING] If I ever worked making ASMR I would…

I would definitely not whisper. Like, I can't. – You're done.

The experience was… as strange and as satisfying as I expected.

[WHISPERING] Ohhh, that crackle is good.
