Youtube daily report Feb 9 2019

Hi, I'm Larry Withers and welcome to day 9 of Figuary: Figure Drawing Month.

Gesture drawings of 1 to 3 minutes are a traditional form of figure drawing.

But sometimes it's nice to concentrate your time on just a single pose.

Which is why you should hit that pause button.

Remember, this isn't a race or a contest.

Your drawing time is for your benefit.

So use it as you see fit.

The important thing is that you keep drawing.

Remember to visit our colleagues at Love Life Drawing Channel for daily drawing instruction

Valentine's Day - Did not go as planned - Duration: 3:08.

So what are you doing this Valentine's Day?

[ music ]

Come on in, Welcome to my home.

So here's an odd thing.

It's Valentine's Day or just about and guess what.

We got snowed in.

Yeah

All my plans for what I was going to do on Valentine's Day

has drastically changed because

we got a lot of snow, we got a lot of rain.

And, well...

Eek.

Oh no.

So you are saying to yourself, well what do I do, well you know for Valentine's Day?

If you, One if you forgot it or

Or two if you are like me and you are trapped

inside.

Can't go out.

Tons of snow.

Well okay here's the thing, and this is so easy to do.

Just spend time with each other.

Yeah, I mean how crazy is that?

You don't have to have some fancy some fancy meal,

You don't have to have boxes of chocolates, or snacks, or anything.

Just do things that you want to do.

And that's what's important. Valentine's Day is all about you

So my last minute Valentine's Day tips for you:

Are, One.

Just be there.

Be there for each other.

Enjoy each other, have some fun.

you don't need fancy cards or anything

just enjoy the time that you have together.

Now what other things can you do? Well you can do things like:

Well....

Run that person a special bubble bath.

Because

When you're home, when you are stuck in the same house together, yeah

You want some time.

Yeah, like I said, this weekend, a bunch of rain, a bunch of ice, a bunch of snow.

they have a Level 3 Snow advisory which meant.

That all the roads were closed and you could not drive anywhere.

Yeah.

No going out and buying chocolates, no going out and buying...

anything

Which then made me realize that Valentine's Day is more about

Telling somebody that you love them than

it is about buying about a dozen roses

or what ever it is that you think that you need to buy somebody.

You really don't need to buy them anything.

and that is what is important.

Just be there for that person and everything will be great.

Valentine's Day is just that kind of day.

And so don't fall for all the commercialism of it.

Just go be yourself and enjoy the people who you are with.

And you will have a great time.

So what do you think about that?

Let me know down in the comments. what you think about that.

News24 - Manchester United players travel to London after squad enjoys triple celebration - Duration: 2:42.

Manchester United's players caught the train down to London on Friday afternoon after the squad enjoyed a triple celebration

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men face Fulham in Saturday's early kick-off knowing that a win would take them into the top four ahead of Chelsea's trip to Manchester City on Sunday

The Red Devils have won nine of Solskjaer's 10 matches in charge so far, a run which represents an astonishing upturn in fortunes after they sat 11 points outside of the Champions League places when Jose Mourinho was sacked in mid-December

And that form was recognised by the Premier League on Friday when Solskjaer was handed the January manager of the month award

Man Utd predicted line up vs Fulham ahead of Craven Cottage clash   The Norwegian - who is still only in temporary charge - picked up an award that none of Mourinho, Louis van Gaal or David Moyes were able to win at Old Trafford, with the last United boss to lift it being Sir Alex Ferguson in October 2012

Solskjaer led United to victories over Newcastle , Tottenham and Brighton in January, while they also drew with Burnley

And joining his manager among the January awards was Marcus Rashford, who picked up the player of the month gong

The forward scored in all of those aforementioned January victories, and added the winner at Leicester in United's first game in February for good measure

He becomes the first United player to win it since Zlatan Ibrahimovic in December 2016

And the third celebration took place earlier in the day.  In a move not universally popular with fans , United announced a new contract for defender Phil Jones

The 27-times capped England international has been at the club for eight years, and has now extended his stay at Old Trafford until 2023

United face Fulham at Craven Cottage at 12.30pm on Saturday.

Baby Sweater for Beginners, Knitting / बाळाचे सुंदर स्वेटर - Duration: 47:46.

Hello friends, myself Alka welcome you to Kalopasak.

This is a beautiful baby sweater for 0 to 6 month baby.

It is simple and you can make it easily.

So we shall see, how to make this top-down sweater.

Let us see the measurements of this ready sweater.

Height is 27 cm,

Length of sleeves 26-27 cm.

Width 25 cm.

Being top-down sweater, we shall start with the neck band.

You can have clear idea from this figure.

This much upper portion is worked collectively.

These marks show, where the stitches are increased.

We knitted it as one piece till the red strip ends.

We start with 60 stitches.

These 60 stitches we have to divide in 5 parts, namely

Right front, left front, two sleeves and the back side.

Because we are knitting sweater first time, let us see the out line that how we shall go on.

We cast on 60 sts and with Garter stitch work 6 rows.

So the neck band will be ready.

Then we shall increase the stitches along these lines.

So we divide 60 sts as,

5 for button band, 8 for right front, 7 for sleeve, 20 for back side, 7 second sleeve, 8 left front and 5 for button hole band.

5 for button band, 8 for right front, 7 for sleeve, 20 for back side, 7 second sleeve, 8 left front and 5 for button hole band.

After 5+8=13 sts place one marker, after 7 sleeve sts place second marker,

third marker after back's 20 sts, 4th marker after 7 sleeve sts and last 13 sts ahead.

Thus we place 4 markers.

We shall increase the sts on both sides of the marker.

We shall work KFB means knit front back to the stitches coming before and after the marker.

On right side (RS) we shall increase and on wrong side (WS) we shall work all purl.for Stockinette stitch.

Note that 2 sts are increased near each marker, thus in alternate row (that is on RS) total 8 sts increased.

When we increase as above, let us see how our sts will be after one round of increase.

1 st increase on right front, 2 increase on sleeve, 2 increase on back 2 again on another sleeve and one increase on left front.

Note that for sleeves and back, we have increase on its both sides, so 2 sts increased iiin each.

For both front sides only 1 st increases on each RS.

So after one row of increase our total sts will be 68.

After 15 rows of increase the stitches will be,

Right front 5+23=28, sleeve 37, back 50, second sleeve 37 and left front 23+5 that is 28.

In all 180 sts

Because we increase 15 times front sts are increased by 15, sts in sleeves and back increased by 30.

After all increase, we shall separate sleeves stitches,

and combine two fronts and back sts together and knit them.

After separating sleeves stitches we shall have 5+23+50+23+5= 106 sts.

For baby sweater we shall go on working on these 106 sts without increase or decrease.

No need of further increase or decrease sts further as it is baby sweater.

At last we shall work Garter st for border.

Then we shall take all sts for each sleeves and knit them separately.

For sleeves we use double pointed needle of the same number.

So this is the outline, how we shall work.

So let us start this beautiful baby sweater.

You can work this with single colour or in two colours as you wish.

This sweater is just for baby up to 6 months.

For this project I have this beautiful colourful shading yarn and 10 number knitting needles.

Also I have no 9 circular needle.

We shall also need tapestry needle and markers.

To start with cast on by double thread long tail cast on method 60 sts.

Take the double yarn approximately needed for 60 sts and make a simple knot.

Place working yarn to the right hand and double thread to the left hand.

Place the needle in side double thread.

Wrap the yarn around the fingers, as shown,

twist the fingers, loop will be formed, insert the needle in that loop,

wrap the needle by working yarn,

and remove the loop out of the needle as shown.

Pull both the yarns (working yarn and double thread) gently and fix the stitch.

See once again.

Cast 60 sts in this way.

Then work first row as all knit then in the second row we shall make one button hole, I will show it.

For button hole knit two sts, yarn over knit 2 together.

Work total 6 rows of all knit then we shall see, how to divide the sts.

Now we have finished the neck band so we transfer to larger needle number 9 and also divide the 60 sts in 5 parts by placing markers.

Note that 5 sts at the starting of every row will be worked as knit always (both in RS and WS) for button band and button hole band.

Other that these 5 sts at ends we work Stockinette st in between, that is all K on RS and all P on WS.

We place first marker after 5+8 that is 13 sts.

Place second marker after 7 sts for sleeve.

Third marker after 20 sts for back.

Purl 7 sts for second sleeve and place 4th marker.

Out of remaining 13 sts purl 8 sts and knit last 5 sts.

R 1(RS): (K till 1 st before marker, kfb, pass marker, kfb) repeat three more times, K to last st.

kfb means: Knit the same st from front and then from back side knit.

We have already seen knit from back side, I will share a link in description box.

Each time before and after marker work kfb so that 1 stitch increases on both sides of the marker.

R 2(WS): K5, purl all till last 5 sts, K 5.

R 2(WS): K5, purl all till last 5 sts, K 5.

Repeat row 1 and row 2 till the height becomes 13 cm.

Here we have finished this part of increasing stitches.

On every right side 8 sts are increased.

Note that there is no increase on wrong side.

As we have decided to repeat rows 1 and 2 till we get 13 cm height, so we have to increase 15 times.

Thus 8 sts on every RS and thus 15 times we increase so in all 15 x 8 = 120 sts are increased.

Thus now the total sts on our needle are 60 originally CO + 120 increased, means 180 sts.

With equal distances make the buttonholes also.

Here we are separating the stitches of sleeves and place them on a stitch holder.

These are the stitch holders.

You can transfer the sts on this stitch holder or if you don't have stitch holder,

don't worry you can use scrap yarn and tapestry needle and put the sleeve sts on that yarn.

This row we shall combine the stitches for right front, back and left front and place the sleeve stitches on holder.

Here we make one button hole.

Now knit all sts on front side.

For arm hole we are casting on 4 sts.

We remove marker and place all the sts of sleeves on stitch holder.

Here we have to cast on 4 sts.

Turn the work and cast on 4 sts by simple method of twisting and inserting the loop in the needle.

These 4 sts are called underarm sts.

Now knit all sts on back side , get the first st tight.

Once we collect all these sts, we have to work in Stockinette st for 13 cm and then border.

For last border we work Garter st.

After that we shall work sleeves, border to sleeves.

Then the sweater will be complete.

At the time of first sleeve we use stitch holder, now I will show you, how to put the sts on scrap yarn using tapestry needle.

Here we remove the marker,

I have one scrap yarn threaded in the tapestry needle.

Now thread the tapestry needle through all sts of the sleeves.

So if you have stitch holder then use it or otherwise use such a scrap yarn to place the stitches of the sleeves.

My personal choice is on scrap yarn because the stitch holder becomes hurdle for me.

Now all sts of sleeve are in this scrap yarn.

Fix the scrap yarn by a knot.

Again here we have to cast on 4 sts as under arm sts.

So turn the work and cast on 4 under arm sts.

Knit all remaining sts till end.

Now complete this up to 12 cm in Stockinette st. (that is one row all K and on wrong side all purl)

Then 1 cm border in Garter st (that is all knit on both sides).

Then I will show you how to work sleeves.

Remember to knit first 5 sts on wrong side also.

Continue Stockinette st till the height from top is 25-26 cm.

Then 1 cm border in Garter st.

You have to make 6 rows for border.

As we decided I worked it so that total length is 27 cm.

Width is 25 cm.

For sleeves we use double pointed needle.

There are total 37 sts for sleeves.

Also we added 4 stitches by casting for underarm.

So we have to pick up 37+4+ 2 sts to fill the gap, thus 43 sts.

Out of 4 needles use 3 to pick up the sts and work with the forth needle.

Let us pick up from under arm sts.

then pick up the sts on scrap yarn which are 37

pick up 15 sts on first and second needle and remaining on the third needle.

Next 15 sts on second needle.

Once the sts are on the needle remove that scrap yarn.

In seamless sweater or top-down sweaters we have to work sleeves on double pointed needle.

It is not difficult to work on double pointed needle (dpn),

only the last st and first st should be worked little bit tight.

All sts are now on dpn and the scrap yarn is removed.

From the gap near under arm we pick up 3 sts.

Thus we have 15+15+14 total 44 sts.

We start with under arm sts.

so that sts decreased will be symmetrically on both sides of under arm centre.

We have published video, how to work with dpn? you can refer that.

Knit all 15 sts on this needle,

Because it is circular knitting, for Stockinette stitch we have to knit all sts all the round.

There is no RS and WS.

From this point where we join new yarn for sleeve, work 14-15 cm.

Note that the last st on any needle and the first st on next needle should be tighten.

So that there should not be a gap.

See that the shape of the sleeve is not just cylindrical.

It goes on narrowing as we go to the end of the work.

So to get this shape we decrease twice through out the sleeve.

2 stitches after every 3 - 4 cm of work done.

Finally for the border there will be 40 sts only.

We shall decrease 2 sts at the centre of under arm sts.

Friends out of 14 cm sleeve we worked 4 cms and now we have to decrease 2 sts.

We shall decrease at under arm

So we work k2tog for the last 2 sts at under arm, and for the first 2 sts on the next needle.

Hence ffor the last 2 sts work k2tog so that 1 st is decreased.

For the first 2 sts on the next needle, also we work k2tog and reduce one st.

Also note that while working with dpn, the ends of remaining needles make the holes in our work so place the needles in a proper manner.

After working 4 cm more, we shall again decrease 2 st in the same manner.

Thus when your sleeve will be 14 cm then we work border in garter st for 1cm.

How to work Garter st on circular needle that I will show.

When we make our neck band, it has RS and WS so for Garter st we work all K on both sides.

But in circular work, you can see that when we work all k o then we get stockinette st.

In circular knitting all k in every round means Stockinette st and one round knit and one round purl means Garter stitch.

In circular knitting all k in every round means Stockinette st and one round knit and one round purl means Garter stitch.

In order to understand that where one round is complete, we place marker.

Now we work one round purl and next round knit all.

Repeat the rounds till the border is 1 cm.

Oh sorry I worked these 3 sts knit, where as I should work them purl. So correct it.

Here is marker means our round is complete, so now we have to work next round all knit.

Complete the border once 3 waves are seen.

Similarly pick up 37 sts from the wrap yarn then 4 underarm sts and 3 for filling the gap thus 44 sts for second sleeve and work it.

The total length of sleeve from neck band is 25 cm. + 1 cm border.

Then sew 3 buttons.

Friends our beautiful baby sweater / jacket is ready here.

We also hide all end threads.

Though it is your first sweater it will look beautiful.

You can use shaded yarn or you can work in a single colour, it will look beautiful.

Even, the line of showing sts increase also looks decorative.

Hope that you like this sweater. If you like it then please comment.

I am eager to hear from you.

AT, ON, or IN? The Triangle Method for Prepositions of Place - Duration: 11:25.

Hi.

I'm Rebecca from www.engvid.com.

In this important lesson I'm going to show you how to use three very common prepositions

correctly in English, and they are: "at", "on", and "in".

Now, you might have seen an earlier lesson of mine where I talked about "at", "on", and

"in" when it had to do with time, and we used something called "the triangle method".

But here, also, we're going to use this triangle method to learn "at", "on", and "in", but

we're going to refer to places.

Okay?

To place; not time, but place.

So, let's see how it works.

So, here we have the triangle, and you can see "at" at the top, "on" in the middle, and

"in" at the bottom.

Okay?

So what does that mean?

So, here we want to show that "at" is used when we're talking about very specific places.

Okay?

For example, when we're talking about the name of a restaurant: "at Starbucks", "at

McDonald's", and so on.

Or when we're giving a specific address: "at 25 Main Street".

Okay?

So, you have the number; not only the street, not only the city, but the specific number

of the building and the street - "at 25 Main Street".

Or we say a specific place, like: "at JFK Airport".

And even if it's not with a name, it could just say: "at the airport", "at the office".

Right?

"At the library", "at the supermarket".

You see that it's very specific, and that's why we use "at"; in those very specific situations.

All right?

Got that?

Now let's look at the second one.

So, the second one is "on".

"on" we use for a little bit more than a very specific place; it's a little bit wider.

For example, we see here on a street, or a highway, or a floor.

Okay?

So, we see: "on Main Street", "on Route 66", "on the 6th floor".

Okay?

So: "Somebody lives on Main Street.", "I drive to work on Route 66.", "I work on the 6th

floor."

Okay?

So we see that it's a little bit wider than that specific place.

Little bit wider tends to often be horizontal kind of places.

Okay?

Next we come to "in".

So, this is for everything more.

Okay?

So, "in" is used for large areas.

For example, we say: "in Los Angeles".

Well, let's look first at what the categories are.

So, large areas, such as a city, a state, a country, a continent, or just a large area.

For example, we could say: "He lives in Los Angeles.", "She lives in California.", "They

live in the US.", "in North America", "in the world".

Okay?

So, what do we see here?

That "in" is the broadest; it's the widest.

Okay?

And then "on" is a little bit less, and "at" is very specific.

Okay?

So, have you got that?

Let's find out when we do a little quiz where we're going to practice using these very common

prepositions: "at", "on", and "in".

Okay?

Because we use these all the time; we use them in writing, we use them in speaking - and

if you have a mistake in this then you're going to have lots of mistakes.

So, let's get it right and let's practice with a little quiz.

Okay, so before we get started, let me just tell you that there are two ways that you

could do this with me.

One is if you'd like a little more time to think about the answer, then just pause the

video, and you can see all of the exercises.

So, stop it, write down the answers, think about it, and then you can follow me as I

go through it.

Or if you feel you can do it right away, then join me right now.

Okay?

Let's get started.

So, again, your options are what? "at" for something very specific, "on" for something

a little bit wider, and "in" for the largest areas of all.

Okay?

All right.

So, let's begin.

Number one: "_____ Tokyo".

What do we say there?

Okay?

Yes.

It should be "in Tokyo".

Okay?

Why?

Because Tokyo is a city, and it's a large place, so we said that for large places we

use "in".

All right?

Next: "_____ Hill Road.

_____ Hill Road.

I live _____ Hill Road."

What would you say, there?

Which of these?

Okay, good: "I live on Hill Road."

Okay?

So, we said "at" is the specific one; "on" is for things like also the horizontal kind

of places like roads, and streets, and rivers.

Okay?

The places like that; the floor that you live on.

Okay?

We say "on", "on Hill Road".

Number three: "_____ Brazil.

She lives _____ Brazil."

What would you choose for that one?

"She lives"-yes-"in Brazil".

Okay?

Again, Brazil is very wide.

Right?

It's a big place, so we want the widest option, which is "in".

All right? "in Brazil".

"in" for cities, countries-remember?-continents, large areas of land, or also in the world.

All right?

Number four: "_____ 40 Park Avenue.

They live _____ 40 Park Avenue."

What's that one?

Which of these?

Okay?

So, that's...

Is that specific or is it wide?

"40 Park Avenue" sounds very specific to me.

Right?

So, if it's specific then you would say what? "at".

Okay?

"They live at 40 Park Avenue."

Very good.

All right.

Now let's look at some sentences.

"We're staying _____ the Moon Hotel."

What should it be?

Think about it in terms of how specific it is.

And in this case it's, again, very specific, so we say: "We're staying at the Moon Hotel."

Okay?

Good.

Next: "He works _____ Burger King _____ Bay Street."

Yes, it happens that very often in the same sentence we have more than one preposition.

Okay?

But the same rules apply.

You can still use this triangle method to help you figure out the answer.

So, let's take it step by step: "He works _____ Burger King", right?

So, is that a specific place, or something very large, or something medium size?

It's a specific place, so here we would say: "He works at Burger King", and then we have

"Bay Street".

Okay?

So, what do you think that would be?

That's going to be this one.

Right? "on Bay Street".

Okay?

"He works at Burger King on Bay Street."

All right.

Next, number seven: "She lives _____ 265 Queen Street _____ London."

Once again we have more than one preposition.

What would it be?

"She lives", yes, right.

You're right; I heard you.

"She lives at" - very specific.

"at 265 Queen Street", and then "London", okay?

So, this is a city, so we want to say: "in London".

All right?

So, how did you do on those?

Did you get them all right?

If you did, congratulations; if you had to think a little bit or you got some of them

wrong, that's no problem.

Prepositions are confusing at times, but at least you have now some sort of guidelines

to help you.

They're confusing just because in different languages prepositions are used very differently.

So, you're not alone.

Okay?

There are lots of people who are thinking about which prepositions to use in English.

And this triangle method can help you to figure out at least some of those answers rather

quickly.

Okay?

Now, I still want to say that even when we're talking about place, though: "at", "on", and

"in" sometimes are not used exactly in the ways that I've explained here, but this triangle

method does help for lots of different places.

All right?

So, for example, if you look in a grammar book you'll often see...

A good grammar book.

You'll see not one lesson about "at", "on", and "in" for place, but you'll see several

chapters about "at", "on", and "in" for place.

This will cover definitely one or two of those chapters.

Okay?

But if you really want to make sure that you've understood this and you're getting it right,

what are the things you can do?

First go to my... go to our website, okay?

At www.engvid.com; there you can do a quiz on this.

Okay?

And don't forget to use it.

Use...

Use this in speech, use it in writing.

And every time you're writing this week, think about: "Do I want to say 'at', 'on', and 'in'?

Why?"

Okay?

Think of the reason until it starts to feel automatic.

Okay?

And don't forget to subscribe, and that way you'll have access to lots of other lessons

which I think will help you to learn English faster and hopefully a little more successfully.

And don't forget, if you didn't watch the other lesson on "at", "on", and "in" for time,

which is also really confusing and also very commonly used, then check that out.

And if you've watched it, watch it again; make sure that you've actually understood

it and you're still using it correctly.

Okay?

So, thanks very much for watching.

I wish you all the best, especially with these lovely prepositions.

Okay?

Have a good time with your English.

Bye for now.

Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp reveals when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will return from injury - Duration: 2:42.

Liverpool are flying under Klopp at present and currently sit six points clear of Tottenham at the top of the Premier League table

The Reds' stunning campaign has been made even more impressive by how they have coped without Oxlade-Chamberlain

**PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** The Liverpool star has been sidelined with a knee injury since April, missing both the Champions League final and the World Cup finals in Russia in the time since

But Klopp has now revealed when the former Arsenal star is expected to be back fit and firing

"Best news," he said. "We had to wait for the reaction and there was no reaction, which was even nicer

"No pressure on him but it looks like February he may be back in normal training

" Chamberlain said in September that his injury rehabilitation has been going well

"It's going well - very boring, very slow, very long, all the good stuff!" he said

"But I'm making progress, which is obviously what we need. "It's just a long process and I just keep plugging away, but I'm in good spirits and I'm really positive about it

"You just get into a routine [with] tunnel vision and keep going, setting yourself little goals and little things to achieve

"I passed the ball the other day, not very well, but I started passing the ball and that was massive for me to be able to kick and know that my knee can kick a ball

"Even though it was five yards, I've started working on stuff like that and it's little wins like that that keep you going and keep you pushing forward to the next one

" Liverpool are next in action against Arsenal on Saturday (5.30pm). Whether they can continue their assault on the title, though, remains to be seen

Mont Blanc : Comment le Gravir 2e Partie / La controverse - Duration: 17:31.

I would like to come back on a controversial subject.

The Mont Blanc.

Hi! I'm Pascal, and welcome to this 2nd capsule about the Mont Banc.

Why controversial?

Because before I published my first Mont-Blanc video, I was only uploading my

documentaries and my vlog, and I had my little community that followed me and that ritten

nice comments to each of my publications.

I received only positive comments.

I had a ratio of thumbs up, versus thumbs down, of 100%.

Until I launch the famous Mont Blanc video.

But I did not expect to have as much of reach with this video.

I must say, that Mont Blanc video alone represents 37% of all

the views on my YouTube channel.

The very morning that I launched it, I received my first negative comment.

In fact, I received it even before receiving positive ones...

Which are still in majority, by the way.

That been followed by a rain of comment more negative than the others.

I think this is a sign of controversy...

Today, I do not want to come back contradict my words, I just want to

answer a few of these comments to explain my point of view.

First of all, there are those who treat me if "self-proclaimed adventurer".

Well, for a moment I wondered if I was pretentious to brand myself that way.

But by reading the definition in '' the dictionary ''.

The one who loves extraordinary adventures, who runs the world and willingly engages

in risky businesses where he can hope for some benefit.

I realize that '' Adventurer '' is not a title awarded by any organization, such as doctor,

and after visiting 15 countrys of which 7 crossed by bike, climbed several peaks,

as much in summer as in winter in the worst storms,

without counting many activity high in adrenaline and so on,

I do not find it exaggerated to grant me this title.

Then there are the comments on the guides.

Several criticized me let flow the idea to climb the mountain without a guide.

When I say it's possible to climb the mountain without a guide, I do not recommend

to everyone to do it.

If the very idea of leaving alone on the Mont Blanc worries you, do not do it alone.

As I said, the most important in the mountains is to know when to give up.

The day I reached the summit, I I felt very comfortable all along the ascenssion.

If I had noticed at one point that I was poorly prepared to reach the summit,

I would have looted my pride and turned around.

I saw several guides with their clients during my ascent, and by listening to them,

I would have been disappointed to have spent such a sum to get their accompany up to the top.

Not because what they say does not make sense, quite the contrary, simply

because with the experience I gained with the years, I would have paid lots of money

to make me tell things that I already knew.

If you do not feel comfortable, book a guide.

But again, be careful!

There are many kinds of guides.

After watching the documentary: Mount White noir de monde, the link is in the description,

we quickly realize that anyone can improvise himself mountain guide and that some

company, lets imagine to their client, that the ascent of Mont Blanc is an activity perfectly safe with a guide.

Again, I do not mean that all the guides are morons, quite the opposite.

But do not think that if you buy the services of a guide, this guarantees you

to come back from your adventure on Mont Blanc in one piece.

The week I climbed Mont Blanc, 8 peoples lost their lives.

These were two groups of four peoples, led by a guide.

In both cases, the three customers, as well as that their guide are dead.

The following comment is from Chamoniard Guide:

the 2 balls pseudo adventurer, he does not know nothing in alpi and allows himseft to give advice?!?!

your reactions to the comments make you look like a schizophrenic in complete denial of reality.

Certainly you are looking for views on youtube to pay for your travels, then at a pinch

share your so-called adventures, but in no case gives advice on topics

you do not know anything about!

You are incredibly arrogant!

so show us your beautiful videos, but shut up!

It is better to shut up and pass for a moron rather than open your mouth and leave no doubt about it!

Well, thank you for your comment.

How to say...

I put my videos online first because to hold a camera in my hands,

take beautiful pictures, speak in front of camera, inform myself about various topics, write

my texts, do the narration, do the shooting in the studio, the video editing

and put it all online to help people, is a passion for me.

Certainly if there was no possibility of income, I would probably not invest

as much time doing these videos.

But for your information, my YouTube channel currently brings me about $ 30 a month.

So it's very far from paying my travels for the moment.

On your side, the next time you want criticize someone like this publicly,

I invite you to do it with your first and last name, as well as your profile picture.

I have the impression that you would never had been able to tell me that in the same words if you had met me in the street.

Next subject, the famous shoes.

Ahah ... I received so many comments about it.

I said that I climbed the mountain with this boot, and that if it was to redo,

I would do it with this shoe.

What I mean by that is that it was a so beautiful the day when I climbed it,

that this pair of shoes would have very well done the job for me.

Evidently the Sportiva Nepal Evo is the best suited for Mont Blanc.

Because it is ultra rigid witch allows to spent less energy when going up,

reduces the risk of spraining your ankle and keep warm.

But my Lowa boot, soft to very well done work.

If I could have my pair of Sportiva with me on my first day of climbing,

before venturing for the first time on Mont Blanc, I would opt for the Sportiva over the Lowa.

But as I had left them at home and that the rental for two days would had cost me

around $ 300 to rent a pair boots that I already bought at $ 800,

I choose the Lowa I did really not regretted it.

$ 300 It's still an investment ...

It's the equivalent of ten months of Youtube income. ;)

And again, if while climbing up you realized you are badly equipped or that you feel bad ...

Walk on your pride and turn around.

It's valid even if you have the best boot in the world.

Some also criticize me by writing novels, to tell me that I should not

not give any advice because I have no experience.

The fact that I am not a professional guide do not make myself a novice.

Mountains, I climbed more than a hundred, not to mention those I have climbed countless times.

And I'm Canadian, snowstorms, it's very familiar to me.

Moreover, as I climbed the mountain myself up to the top, I give myself the right to talk about it.

I did it.

I know, a glacier, it's not the same thing that a mountain and has more risks

I do not want to hear it again.

I am also told that many people go to die by my fault, because I would incite everyone

to climb Mont Blanc alone and without training...

If that's really what you learned from my first video, listen it again very carefully.

I say that everyone who wants to climb the summit can, yes.

With training, experience, equipment and well acclimatized.

And chapter two is entirely devoted to the danger of Mont Blanc.

Nobody can say that I did not warn them.

My goal with this video was to raise awareness to the people who will climb Mont Blanc.

People who want to climb this mountain will do it no matter what people say to them.

I am the living proof of it.

I was at the bottom of the mountain, I looked at it, and I really wanted to climb it.

There was a kind of magnetism that attracted me to the summit.

So I prefer to inform those who want to venture there as best as I can

base on my experience, rather than letting them be told "no, you can't" by other people.

In my opinion, there is nothing more convincing than to be told 'no, you can't'

to jump to action and prove the opposite.

There are three expressions that I love.

The famous '' if you want you can '',

the Nike 'just do it',

and more recently "do what you can't" from Casey Neistat.

If you are an expert in the field, rather to write me a hate comment, why

don't not you make your own video too explaining your point of view?

You will help the community much more than by calling me an idiot, a badger,

or again, you moron.

Put the link of your video in the comments, it will make me happy.

Send me comments like this ...

Is useless.

But why are so many people say don't do the Mont Blanc because

it's dangerous, and you can die.

In my opinion ... I am perfectly aware that the ratio is not the same, but there is

more people dying every day by crossing the street, that people dying

venturing on Mont Blanc every year.

It's drastic, but it's my way of seeing things.

If we always listened to the little voices who tell us not to do something

because it's dangerous, it will not work, you won't suceed, because of this, because of that ...

We could absolutely do nothing in life.

And doing nothing is deadly boring.

I work on the road.

Every year I drive almost 100 000km.

I saw more than a hundred Accidents, some happened right in front of me.

The danger is real, just like on Mont Blanc.

But yet, nobody has ever told me that I was doing a dangerous job.

And I better like to die on Mont Blanc doing an activity that I like, rather

than to die on the road, at work.

Oh yes, your chances of dying on the Mont Blanc are much higher than in your living room.

But lots of people are dying in their living room everyday so...

Why do I still talk about it?

I imagine that everyone who wrote me hateful comments will hate me even more, but too bad for you, I expressed my thinking.

Another point that was strongly criticized, that's what I said about the roping.

I do not understand why I am criticized as much about it.

I only emphasized what I saw.

And as I said at the very beginning of the video, I am not a professional guide.

I'm very confident that the roping must to be a good thing.

Otherwise the experts of the mountain would certainly not do it.

But there must be a way to do it.

What I mean is that roping just to be in rope, without knowing how to react

in critical cases, it can't be better than going on solo.

Most of the roped people I saw on the mountain were walking very close

behind each other with each their roll rope in the hands...

We agree that if a crevasse opens under the feet of the first three of a group

of four, in this situation, the last will only be dragged into the fall.

I also saw several who were roped in the "non-glacier" section of the mountain.

For real, apart increasing the risks to get stumble, I really do not see what's the point.

Then there was my mention on the refuge du Goûter, where I explained that the guards

could not stop us from entering if you did not have reservations.

Maybe it was'nt been wise to mention it publicly, but know

that I do not recommend it.

I just said it because it's a fact, there were about 5 people who were sleeping

on the stairs of the Goûter when I did my ascension.

Personally, I was not mad at them, they were achieving

of their dream, and they had to sleep on the floor to succeed.

Please do not come tell me they put the lives of others in danger because they were sleeping

on a staircase, if a fire alarm had sounded, they would have got up like everyone else to go out.

In Hong Kong people live much more packed that it can be in the Goûter and that does not prevent anyone from living.

I leave you a link in the description that shows the situation, presented

by an English-speaking YouTube channel that I love!

Besides, many will be happy, others much less, since in the summer of 2019, several

articles on the web are talking about a quota of 214 climbers per day.

214 being the number of places available in the dormitories.

I do not know more about it, I leave you to inform yourself on the web.

Next comment ...

Hi, you filmed with what up there?

At the time I used only two GoPro.

It's not the best, but it's small and it does the job.

If I had to do it again today, I would go there with this little go pro, the session model,

and this little Sony camera, which films like a charm.

I leave the links to my equipment in the description below.

These are affiliate links, if you wish order the product through these links,

thank you, that encourages me.

Next comment

There will always be moralizers ...

Your video is well done, simple and precise.

It must be assumed that a person who wants to do Mont Blanc will do it, anyway.

So better to tell him to take crampons and an ice ax, it will already avoid many problems :)

You would have avoided many raging comments if you had roped with a partner,

I think it's a very reassuring practice on glacier grounds.

Aside from that, I enjoyed watching your video, which demystifies the roof of Europe a little bit.

It's good to hammer that it's not easy, to take a guide if you are not

experienced, that you must be prepared and equipped.

See you soon !

Thank you very much Bastien!

I'm happy to see that there are many more people who wrote to me just like you to

express their satisfaction.

Thanks also to those who came to my defense after this Kivik who sent me a rain,

but a rain of comments that was at first a simple criticism, but that I

had to delete it in the end because it becoming to unkind.

Even a guide of Mont Blanc came to support my comments.

I found that very nice.

I realized after the publication of the first video that in the field

of mountaineering, there are many very snobby people who believe that they know everything and that only them holds the absolute truth.

Next question

For the training, I thought to climb the St-Victoire (450 meters of altitude difference) twice a week.

plus a little jogging and other sport.

Do you think that it will be enough?

It's hard to say.

Each person is different.

It is definitely necessary to train as much as possible, are you also used to walk on the snow?

It's far to be the same as walking in a trail.

And you never know how your body is going react to altitude.

Even well acclimatized, one can be a victim of discomfort.

On this subject, it is certain that if you get altitude sickness, it is really better

to have a friend to help you go back down.

This is something that I was criticized several times.

But do not think that I'm encouraging people to clim alone and without a guide ...

It is obvious that it is better to climb in group.

But when we have no one to accompany us and we can not find anyone at the foot of the mountain,

it happens that if we want to achieve our dreams, we have to go crazy things.

But as I keep saying, the most important is to know when to give up.

If you do not feel well or not comfortable, walk on your pride and turn around.

Turning around is much more glorious than to reach the summit because it is much more difficult.

Michel asks me what model of Suunto I use.

This is the Suunto Ambit 3 Peak Sapphire version.

Again I leave a link in the description if you wish to order it.

I also did a capsule series that explains all its specifications, how to configure it

and use it in the field.

If you're interested, you can go watch them just here, do not miss that.

In short, I am impressed by quantity of negatives comment I received, probably because

it was my first, but anyway, you have been a very large majority to have

appreciated and I thank you!

If you have questions about this video or any subject, do not hesitate

to write to me in the comments below the video, I'll be happy

to answer you and maybe even that I I'm going to make a video just for you

Yes yes, it has happened a few times already.

By the way, do not try to write elsewhere, the best place to write to me is in

the comments just below, I read them all the time.

If you want to yell at me and tell me that I am an asshole, go for it.

But if you're rude, do not be surprised if I do not answer you.

As I told you earlier, I suggest you do your own video to explain your point of view.

If you're able to comment, that means that you already have a YouTube account, you can

take your cell phone or webcam from your computer and publish it to your account.

People who listen to me on YouTube are probably listen to other video on Mont Blanc before,

and will probably listen to other just after this one.

That's how you make your own ideas.

On this, we'll see you next week.

This week I brought you to the highest point in Western Europe,

next week, I'll take you to the bottom.

Yes, I'll take you back to the Netherlands, to present you the documentary version of this country that I loved.

amazarashi - We Call Them "Words" それを言葉という (English Lyrics)

One day we'll start to rust, and in the end we won't be able move.

We'll be on board an ark that's slowly sailing toward the end.

In a sense, we'll be drifters, without a sign to guide us.

These hastening days will, at last, give way to slower days,

when the setting sun collides with a blackened horizon.

We'll have reached a dark night's passing, our sailing shoes washed ashore,

and in the space between Venus and Denebola a distant star will faintly shine.

If we say that something ''ends'' when everyone has forgotten it,

then I'll have already ''ended'' by then,

so I won't really find it so sad.

As I'm being rocked by waves that silently groan,

I'll have screamed songs of regret until they tear up my throat.

Oh, voice of desparation! Oh, voice of bitter song!

Ring out with the thunder!

Go beyond the distance that everyone told you was impossible!

''It gets easier when you put your feelings into words'' -

If I don't put that into words, you won't understand it.

Don't give up on getting your feelings across!

Send them out!

The morning that never died still shines brightly,

and every new day will bring it right back out again.

Rip apart your tears and pack them into bullets -

them bullets we call ''words''.

Aspirations fall down onto streets crowded with aimless young men and women,

and nobody even bothers to pick them up anymore.

In these times bereft of hope, we were never hoped for.

All the time, we're told that it's all over for us,

and the value system that we've perverted is like a freshly-sharpened knife.

When we tire of competing to have the most happiness,

and we start comparing our misfortunes, we'll be beyond saving.

The relief that I get from singing

and the relief she gets from cutting herself -

I don't really know what makes them different to begin with.

Either way, even in a crowd full of hard-to-understand people,

I understand myself the least of all. I'm a mere shadow of a person.

Even the satisfaction that I get from my accomplishments

is just the same as pocket change, spent in an instant.

In a fast food restaurant, holding my head in my hands, I keep repeating:

''Are you going to let it end here? Are you going to let it end here?''

At the farthest reaches of suffering, this pitiful, groaning voice

needs to sing now more than ever!

Make this empty shell of a life ring out!

''I didn't genuinely mean to say that'' -

I can't say that if I don't mean it genuinely.

I'm not going to look down on sharing my feelings anymore.

I'm going to send them out!

The morning that never did still shines brightly,

and every new day will bring it right back out again.

Rip apart your tears and pack them into bullets -

the bullets we call ''words''.

Since tomorrow will still be there, this can't be the end.

The morning sun will naively shine into the train carriage,

and I'll spit my trampled, crumpled feelings out on the platform.

''I can't take another step. I can't even move an inch.

I still lament my fleeting attempt at resistance,

and giving up on all my ideals, and my completely empty set of moral values.

It's perfectly fine to be a worthless person.

It's perfectly fine to be a worthless person.

It's perfectly fine to be a worthless person.

Because this world is worthless anyway.''

We made it through every day that we were told was our last.

These two hands of ours weren't made for wiping away tears.

The morning that never died still shines brightly,

and every new day will bring it right back out again.

Rip apart your tears and pack them into bullets -

the bullets we call ''words''.

The bullets we call ''words''.

The bullets we call ''words''.

Andy Murray had to beat the very best in men's tennis to become one of the greats - Duration: 7:36.

Andy Murray had to beat the very best in men's tennis to become one of the greats Andy Murray has done it all

Here, we look back at the most significant moments in his career. The two-time Wimbledon champion was debating having the hip surgery procedure, which involves putting a metal plate into the joint, in a final bid to prolong his career

He had previously said ahead of the Australian Open earlier this month that he intended to retire after this year's Wimbledon

The operation does not guarantee the Scot will be able to make a comeback, but will allow him to live a pain-free life

From the courts of Dunblane to the best player on planet tennis, Murray marked his remarkable rise to world No 1 by winning the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in 2016

But that effort took its toll on Murray in 2017 as he won only one title. He underwent hip surgery six months after hobbling to defeat against American Sam Querrey in the Wimbledon quarter-finals in July 2017 and was never quite the same again

It all started at the age of five for Murray when his magic with the racket was spotted and seven years later he won the U14 National Championship at the age of 12

In September 2004, Murray won the US Open juniors at Flushing Meadows by beating Sergiy Stakhovsky, cementing his position as the nation's brightest hope

By March 2005, he became the youngest Briton to ever play in the Davis Cup. He helped GB beat Israel with a crucial doubles victory

Following an impressive Queen's performance, Murray received a wildcard for Wimbledon where he produced an impressive run before losing out to the experienced David Nalbandian in a thriller

Later that year he reached his first ATP Tour final in Thailand, but was stopped in his tracks by the great Roger Federer

After teaming up with his nemesis Novak Djokovic in men's doubles action at the 2006 Australian Open, victory over Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt gave him a first career title in San Jose and a place in the top 50

A year later he broke into the top 10 for the first time and then reached the semi-finals of Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami

Ahead of the 2008 US Open, Murray beat Djokovic in Cincinnati to win his first Masters title

That helped him gain enough confidence to go on a run at Flushing Meadows where he upset Rafael Nadal for the first time when they met in the semi-finals

Federer was a class act in the final, though, winning 6-2 7-5 6-2. When Murray beat James Blake to win Queen's in 2009, he became the first Briton to do so since 1938 and in his second major final in Australia in 2010, that man Federer once again shattered his dreams

"I can cry like Roger, it's just a shame I can't play like him," said an emotional Murray

The following year brought about a stellar season. In the first major of the year, he made the final of the Australian Open, losing out to Djokovic, before he ended the 74-year wait for a British men's singles Wimbledon finalist, but again was unable to make the next step, losing in four sets to Federer

He bounced back with a stunning 6-2 6-1 6-4 victory against Federer at Wimbledon in the Olympic final and partnered Laura Robson to silver in the mixed doubles

Buoyed by Olympic success, Murray reached the final of the US Open. From two sets up against Djokovic, he was pegged back, but he found something extra to triumph in five sets

A couple of months later, though, at the 2013 Australian Open, the Serb exacted his revenge with a four-set win

A week before Wimbledon, Murray claimed his third Aegon Championships trophy at Queen's Club by beating Marin Cilic

And it was glory at the All England Club as he survived a nerve-shredding last game to clinch a famous 6-4 7-5 6-4 win against world No 1 Djokovic to finally end Fred Perry's 77-year reign as the last home men's singles champion

After a disappointing 2014, Murray returned to a Grand Slam final in January 2015 but lost to Djokovic in Melbourne

Then, in May, he beat Philipp Kohlschreiber to claim his first clay-court title in Munich and quickly followed that up with a stunning 6-3 6-2 victory over 'King of Clay' Nadal to win the Madrid Masters

Murray beat Kevin Anderson to land his fourth Aegon Championships title before finally ending an eight-match losing streak against Djokovic to land the Montreal Masters crown

Of all Murray's successes, guiding Britain to the Davis Cup title was the most unlikely

The Scot won 11 of Britain's 12 points, including three in doubles with brother Jamie to end the year in glorious fashion

In January 2016, his search for an elusive Australian Open title continued after his fourth final loss to Djokovic

Having turned himself into one of the world's best clay-courters, Murray completed his set of major finals by reaching the decider at the French Open, but the result was familiar - defeat by Djokovic

Just a couple of months later, Murray stamped his class on proceedings against first-time Slam finalist Milos Raonic to triumph at Wimbledon and claim his third major crown

And, as part of a run of 22 straight victories, he became the first tennis player to retain an Olympic singles title with a gruelling victory over Juan Martin del Potro in Rio

Murray became the 26th man to be ranked world No 1 since the system began in 1973 after reaching the final of the Paris Masters when his semi-final opponent Raonic withdrew due to injury

He went on to beat John Isner in the final, and ended his greatest-ever season on an ultimate high by defeating old-foe Djokovic in a winner-takes-all clash for the world No 1 spot at the ATP World Tour Finals in London

Murray spent 41 weeks at No 1 in the rankings until last August, but slipped to a year-end No 16 because of his prolonged absence from the tour

He attempted a comeback at the US Open but was forced to withdraw two days before the start of the tournament

He announced that he would play no part in the first Grand Slam of 2018 and then went under the knife after failing to overcome the pain in his hip

A year later at the same venue, he revealed his retirement plan but in a final bid to prolong his career he underwent hip resurfacing surgery in January 2019

Murray has already etched his name in British sporting folklore and will always be remembered as arguably Britain's greatest-ever sportsperson

amazarashi - We Call Them "Words" それを言葉という (English Lyrics)
