Canadian group rescues UK music retailer His Master's Voice (HMV)

Canadian company Sunrise Records has agreed to buy ailing British music retailer HMV,

safeguarding around three-quarters of jobs, administrators KPMG announced Tuesday.

HMV, launched by English composer Edward Elgar in 1921, collapsed close to bankruptcy just

before the new year after weak Christmas sales and amid a declining market for CDs and DVDs.

KPMG, appointed administrators to try and find a buyer for HMV, said that 27 stores

would have to close with the loss of 455 jobs.

At the same time, "Sunrise Records & Entertainment Limited will acquire 100 stores across the

UK, and 1,487 store and head office employees will transfer as part of the transaction",

KPMG said.

"The stores will continue to trade as HMV, with four stores continuing to trade as Fopp,"

it added.

Sunrise Records chief executive Doug Putman expressed delight at acquiring "the most iconic

music and entertainment business in the UK".

"By catering to music and entertainment lovers, we are incredibly excited about the opportunity

to engage customers with a diverse range of physical format content, and replicate our

success in Canada," he added.

His Master's Voice (HMV), whose logo shows a dog listening to a record player, is the

last major music retailer in Britain and has been suffering for years from the switch to

streaming services.

But Putman on Tuesday said that "the physical media business is here to stay".

Hilco Capital, a restructuring company which rescued HMV when it previously entered administration

in 2013, decided to appoint its own administrators in late December, allowing stores to keep

trading.

Reverse Parking Sensors Installation | DIY | At Home - Duration: 15:42.

Hello Friends

Today ill be installing

Reverse Parking sensors in my friends car

Skoda Octavia red colour

I have ordered this sensors kit from aliexpress

It is already in red colour

So that i won't have to get them painted

In this kit i got

Hole saw

Manual

Double tape stickers

Controllers

4 sensors

Display screen

Power cord

So in this video ill demonstrate a diy method

to install these at home

I'll do the whole process as per this manual

and the given measurements

slowly ill show you each and every step

now with the help of measuring tape and marker

ill make dots on the bumper as per this manual

so in this manual it's given that

in 4 sensors

the distance between two sensors should be 0.3 to 0.4m

and distance from ground should be 0.6 to 0.8m

In my other car i got these sensors installed from market

In market they make holes just by rule of thumb

Because of that all sensors asymmetrical

So no symmetry

So i will do every thing with measurements

If the gap between two sensors is correct

Then it will properly detect poles

And if the distance from ground is correct

Then it will also detect large stones and footpaths

So first we'll mark the holes

Then we'll install sensors

So now with the help of this measuring tape

I'll make a dot on exact 32 inch from the end of the bumper

And same for the other side

Then i measured the distance between both the dots

It came to be 45 inches

Then i divided it by three

It came 15 inches each

So i marked dots each on 15 inch gap

Then i measured the gap between ground and this bumper

I found that this cladding is installed exactly at 23 inches from ground

So as per manual

The given distance in 0.6 to 0.8m

And 23inches is 0.58m

And difference between sensors should be 0.3 to 0.4m

so 15 inches comes to 0.38m

this cladding is installed exactly at 23 inches from ground

so I'll install sensors just next to them

this is the drill bit you get with this kit

for this process you will need drill also

you can borrow it from someone if you don't have it

after installing drill bit

I'll put it's pointed head on the mark and saw

Now i have already made two holes

With this drill bit

As compared to maruti cars this skoda bumper is 3 times thicker

This is the piece which came out

Material is also very good

I'll align this drill a little lower than the mark

So that the sensor properly fits

Now these sensors should be installed in right way

As per the up mark given on the backside of the sensor

Only then it will make a proper beam

Now this is our sensor

Ill also put some glue around it to secure it properly

So that nobody is able to pull it out easily

Cables will be run from bumper to boot through this taillight

Because the controller box is installed inside

And it's not waterproof

I'll pull out the wires with the help of this cable

I also found this place from where all the four wires easily transferred

This is our controller box

I'll pasted behind the tail light

And now with the help of this Feviquick I will paste these sensors

Then I will show you the wiring and how it's installed

Now I will complete the connection with this controller box

1st slot is for the power cord

2nd is for display screen

And rest are for the sensors

In my another video I also demonstrated a process

By which we can connect wires without peeling or piercing car wires

From this connector we have to find out the connections for reverse light

And with the help of these single core wires

Connections are done

Now i have insulated the connections

I didn't had very thin shrink tube so i used electrical tape instead

So this is the controller

All sensors are connected

But still we have to test all the sensors

And find out the right one for the right place

We have to do this so that we can sync display with sensors

Like first I'll connect only one sensor and test it

These two sensors in right should display

In right side of display

But I'll be keeping this display Back in boot

Because i just need the buzzing sound it create

it's sufficient for me

you can wire it to dashboard if you want

now i have connected only one sensor

this is the screen

i have connected it to channel A

so I'll check now first is not working

second also

third is working so this one is connected

fourth is also not working

so now i have connected C and D channel

they represent right side of the screen

as i can check right side sensors are connected

same I'll do for the left side

now i have completed all the connections

tied all the wires

I'll use the sticker and paste it

I have buzzer is finally placed here

One thing more some times noting sticks on the car body

So i recommend cleaning the surface first with thinner

At last everything is complete all the wires are hidden

Law enforcement issues warning after several dogs found frozen solid - Duration: 4:35.

The icy grip of winter is taking hold across America, creating dangerous conditions for

all, including vulnerable pets, left outdoors.

Defenseless and unable to get to shelter these animals' only hope is for someone to save

them.

Fortunately, new laws and awareness about the need to "bring them inside" are saving

the lives of some dogs and cats.

If neglectful pet owners don't do the right thing out of compassion, then perhaps they

will if they face charges and fines from police.

On January 25, 2019, CBS Chicago reported that Chicago was colder than some parts of

Antarctica or Iceland.

That Friday, the temperature slid down to just 2 degrees Fahrenheit.

With wind chill factored in, the temperature felt like negative 16 degrees.

Meanwhile, near the south pole, the temperature was a balmy 34 degrees.

It was the day before this icy day in the Windy City that police found a dog without

identification tags.

The dog was shivering in a backyard inside a makeshift igloo shelter.

He only had some frozen clothes for warmth.

A cable tied him to a tree, so there was no escape from a certain slow and agonizing death.

"Their hands were really tied before the amendment to that law."

Thanks to a new law in another state, Pennsylvania, animal abusers could face felony charges for

leaving their pets outside in freezing or hot temperatures.

Libre's Law was named after Libre, a 7-week-old puppy found hours from death on a Lancaster

County farm.

The puppy was found emaciated, dehydrated and barely breathing inside a cage.

A humane officer rescued Libre, Spanish for "liberty," on Independence Day in 2016.

Before Libre's Law, there were no rules on how long animals could be left outside

in the cold.

Afterward, pet owner's could face charges if they leave their pets out longer than 30

or a felony.

One Pennsylvania shelter worker told WNEP, an ABC affiliate, that she still sees dogs

left outside in the cold.

"I SEE A LOT OF ANIMALS THAT ARE TIED OUT AND THEY'RE SITTING OUT THERE IN THE COLD.

PEOPLE CAN'T UNDERSTAND, THEY CAN'T SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES, THEY CAN'T TELL YOU, 'MY

PAWS ARE HURTING,'" SAID MEG PHILLIPS.

Going about our busy daily lives, some people forget how long their pet has stayed outside.

"A lot of people, what they do is they put them out, they go in and maybe they're doing

the dishes, maybe they're taking care of a child, or interested in some sort of TV

show, they're not realizing how long they're actually leaving them out there."

The new legislation won't prevent every case of animal abuse but will give authorities

more power to rescue suffering animals.

Ashley Mauceri, from the Humane Society, advises anyone who witnesses cases of animals left

outside in the cold or heat without adequate food and shelter to contact law enforcement.

"ESPECIALLY IN THESE COLD MONTHS, IT IS IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE TO BRING THEIR PETS INSIDE

AND FOR OTHERS TO REPORT NEGLECTED ANIMALS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT," SAID MAUCERI.

"IF YOU SEE A PET LEFT OUT IN THE COLD, SPEAK OUT."

There are laws in place in every state to protect animals.

If your state doesn't have a specific law about leaving animals in the cold, remember

that animal neglect is considered a misdemeanor crime in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

After being postponed, the 2019 State of the Union Address will finally air tonight, on February 5, 2019.

The address will start at 9 p.m.

ET/6 p.m. PT/8 p.m.

CT, which mean that a lot of shows will be either interrupted or canceled for the night.

Read on for the rundown on the schedules for the TV shows affected.

Blackish – The show's normal time slot is Tuesday nights, on the ABC network, from 9 – 9:30 p.m.

The next new episode doesn't air until February 12, 2019.

It will be episode 12, which is titled "Dreamgirls and Boys" and the Xfinity description of the episode reads, "Dre and Bow struggle with identity politics involving the kids; Diane's crush starts spending time with another girl; Junior's Valentine's Day date goes awry after Dre and Pops have a talk with him about chivalry.".

FBI – FBI will not air tonight at all because of the SOTU.

Being at the top of the table, we should be enjoying it."  Five years ago Milner was part of the City side which capitalised on the Reds' heartbreak as Brendan Rodgers' men stumbled with the finish line in sight

 He sensed back then the weight of emotion attached to Liverpool's painfully long wait for the top-flight crown

Assuming New Orleans is seeking a deal which features the names above and also a massive number of picks, it's going to be interesting to see how the Lakers move forward.

If the deadline passes and no deal happens, the team will face added competition in the offseason from the Boston Celtics.

Danny Ainge and company can't currently jump into the mix due to the 'Rose Rule' and Kyrie Irving's deal, but after July 1, they'll have the ability to put their own huge offer on the table.

If that plays out, then a battle between the Lakers and Celtics, among others, could make for a fun storyline.
