My name is Ari Gold and I am from the Bronx.

When I was a child, I was obsessed with Annie.

I had an Annie doll.

I must've somehow convinced my parents to get me an Annie doll.

But when it came time to get the Annie dollhouse, there was a lot of pushback and my dad said

in the toy store, you know, "What does a little boy need with an Annie doll?"

And he got very upset.

So that was, I guess, a real shaming moment and realizing that boys were not supposed

to play with dolls and do the things that girls did.

I have two straight older brothers and one of them was always very proud to say that

our family was the only normal family that he knew.

But he also walked around all the time saying that being gay was not normal, so there was

some disjuncture there.

And then, of course, like, when I got to high school, you know, I tried to test the waters

with my rabbis.

And I think one of the most tolerant rabbis I had gave me a whole essay deconstructing

the Torah and stuff and the ultimate message was that, okay, being gay is not a sin, but

doing gay acts - the action is a sin.

All along the way, I was getting all these messages from my older brothers, from my parents,

that it was not okay to be gay.

At school, I was getting messages from the rabbis or the teachers that it is not okay

to be gay.

But I loved my family and I loved Judaism and I even, you know, I wrote a whole essay

saying how the Torah has all the answers to life.

So it was very difficult for me to reconcile these different things.

So I've been singing my whole life and I had my first demo when I was 12 years old and

I started writing songs I was 14.

I think I couldn't have become a real artist until I learned to accept myself and be truthful

and honest with the people in my life that I love.

Once I got a out of yeshiva, Jewish parochial school, and was in college and started meeting

different kinds of people with different perspectives, I think I got the confidence to come out to

my family.

So I basically wrote them an 18-page college ruled handwritten coming out letter that I

read to them out loud.

I sat them down and held an unprecedented family meeting.

There were additional reading materials stapled to the back.

On about page 3 was when I said the words "I am gay" and as soon as I said that,

my brother, Elon, started crying.

And that made me want to cry, but I knew that if I allowed myself to cry in that moment,

I wouldn't have been able to stop and I would have lost the ability to finish the

letter and it was so important for me to show them that I was okay.

I composed myself and I finished reading the letter and I addressed my brother, Elon, who

had said that our family was the only normal family he knew but being gay was not normal.

So I told my brother, Elon, either our family is normal and being gay is normal or our family

is not normal because one of the family members is gay.

So I held him accountable for those words.

At the end of the - of the letter, the last line was something like "I may be a sissy,

a queer, a faggot, a fag, a fagela, but I'm still Ari, the same Ari that loves you all

very deeply."

And at that moment, we all started crying and my dad chose to say something very beautiful

and he said, "The only reason why we're crying is because of the pain we caused you."

We still had to struggle for a few years after that, but I am so grateful that the one moment

that I took to read them that letter and to come out to them, that that was a positive

experience for all of us.

From there I really was able to explore my song writing from a much deeper, more truthful

place.

One of the first songs I wrote, it's called "Write Me a Love Song" and I had "he"

and "him" male pronouns in it and I got recognition from Billboard magazine and it

was pretty awesome.

I've been through a lot with my family and we continue to grow and to change and evolve

and to deal with the, you know, the fact that most parents especially from religious communities

do not grow up with the idea that their children are going to be gay.

So we continue to work things out, but at the same time I'm very lucky because my parents,

my mom will be, like, front row at my show, you know, hands up in the air screaming louder

than anyone else.

So, you know, that's really cool.

When I look back on how I was a child versus how I am now, the truth is that I don't necessarily

see it as these two separate things.

You know, I still carry that child with me every day and I think that the shame and that

stuff is still something I work with every single day, but back then I didn't have any

other experience.

I only knew that.

And so today, I have other experiences to tell me that I will get through this and I

can get through this and I can practice things that help me love myself, say things to myself,

you know, reach out to other people who love me and accept me.

Back then I didn't have - I wasn't able to do that.

So in some ways things haven't changed, but I just have better tools and I am now grown,

so I can take care of that child in a better way than I was able to do back then.

Introducing NLP Submodalities - Duration: 7:20.

Hi. Today I'm going to talk to you about Submodalities.

Submodalities. Submodalities are the building blocks of our thoughts. Every

single moment we have had we have so much coming into our awareness and we

filter that information based on who we are, where we're at, where we've been, our

history, the programs that we have, the meta programs, or the programs

beyond our programs. We distort delete and generalize all of this information

and then we create a movie in our mind. The movie that's in your mind, those

visions the sounds the feelings that you hear are made up of the things you see

in your mind, hear in your mind feel in your mind, and think in your mind and that's

that movie that's in our mind. And we've got a movie going on for absolutely

everything and that movie is built on our five senses, things we see say taste

touch and smell. Now, I don't know if you know but the things that you think and

the way you think those things makes an impact. For example, if you think about

someone or something you don't like very much, there's probably a sense of feeling

that you feel about them in your body somewhere, a location a sensation a heat

a temperature a movement. If you get a picture of that person in your mind, the

qualities of that picture in your mind has different submodalities, different

subcomponents of the modality of the visual aspect. So it might be in a

certain location or it might be in a different color or in color versus black

and white it might have a different size to it compared to somebody that you

really really like. So submodalities are the building blocks of our thoughts

and we have our-- what we see here feel taste touch and smell and each one of

those aspects has different components to it or modalities, the submodalities.

For example as I mentioned before, the visions

that we have in our mind, some of them are in black and white, some are from

colors, some from sepia or bright or dim, some of the images we have are really big

and some are really really small, some things are really close to us and some things are very far

away. Even the feelings that we have there's different locations in our body

for those feelings, different temperature or texture or movement or vibration. The

sounds that we hear have different locations inside of us and outside of us

different volumes different tempos. I remember just, I think it was yesterday

could have been the day before, one of my things on my list was to tidy and clean

my house and I just didn't want to but there was this little voice, they came from

back here and it said it's not gonna clean itself you know. I'm like, who's telling me

it's not gonna clean itself? So I think it was probably my mother's from when I

was little but it's Becky not gonna clean itself you know. I'm pretty sure

that's the facial expression that that voice wouldn't have as well. But that's

the auditory submodality, the location the tempo of that voice the volume of it

or the pitch of it and even if I have a picture of what that is, it's a little

red ball and the location of it is over there. Submodalities are interesting

because, Steve and Connirae Andreas who are some phenomenal NLP'ers in

the world, they did a lot of work with submodalities. And they were the ones

that really started to play with and identify, if we start to shift if we

start to move around the voice that's in our mind and shift the tempo or their

tonality or take that image of something that we're feeling overwhelmed with and

start to shrink it and move it and start to change those submodalities

guess what they found, when you can change your thoughts you change

your life. Think about that if somebody's feeling overwhelmed by something, if you

got a picture of overwhelm or something that you might be overwhelmed with,

there's a good chance that's kind of be big and there's probably weight to it

and for me as I'm even thinking about it, it's kind of coming down on my shoulders

like this and it's big and heavy. If we can utilize those submodalities and

change them, play with them, and lighten it make it light like a feather or a

balloon and let it just kind of float off, we can shrink it if we can move the

location of it, if we can push it away from us, strangely that starts to shift

the movie that's in our mind therefore we start to delete generalize and

distort in a different way which means that we're filtering our world through

different submodalities. I use submodalities a lot.

They help me wake up in the morning because I start to shift my submodalities

way before I get out of bed so that when I'm, when I finally do open

my eyes, I'm alert and I'm awake. If I have a goal that I think I want, I shift

my submodalities to make it more compelling a little bit brighter

and closer. If I'm feeling overwhelmed I shrink something down and push it off

into the distance from myself. If I am just not in the mood for something I

shift by submodalities so that I become more in the mood for it or if it's time

to sleep and I haven't yet gotten to the point where my mind and body is sleeping

then I start to shift my submodalities to move me into a state. Because not only

does shifting those submodalities start us to distort delete and generalizing

filter differently but it cascades down, our physiology changes, our state changes,

and ultimately our outcome, our behavior changes simply because of the movie in

our mind and the submodalities, the components the building blocks of our thoughts.

You are in charge of your mind and therefore your results and when you

change your thinking you change your life.

Since early childhood a famous top model and a film star Diane Kruger was in love with

ballet and studied it at the Royal Ballet in London.

During one of the trainings, she got a knee injury and couldn't continue pursuing a

At 15, she won a prestigious pageant contest and that's how Kruger's modeling career

started.

Diane's father Hans worked as a computer specialist and wasn't that close with children.

When Diane was 13, parents divorced and so, a future starlet worked hard to help mom make

the ends meet.

Another point why Hans wasn't close with kids is his addiction to alcohol.

The mother Maria worked in a bank and after the divorce raised the two kids on her own.

Then she met Wolfgang Bieneck, who became her long-time partner and made Maria a happy

He passed away in 2016 which made the whole family devastated as he was not only a great

We don't know what he does for a living or anything about his personal life.

But it is known that he suffered a lot from a Lyme disease but now it is under control.

A famous actress first walked down the aisle in 2001 with a French actor Guillaume Canet.

They had been dating for two years and was really in love with each other.

However, because of work they had to be far from each other for long periods of time and

according to Kruger, it broke their marriage and they divorced in 2006.

In spite of this, they remain to be good friends.

Since 2006 and till 2016, Diane had been in a relationship with Joshua Jackson, who is

also an actor.

Despite the fact, that they had been together for a decade, it didn't result in any kids.

In 2015, a stunning actress met Norman Reedus but officially they became a couple in 2016.

They made their first public debut together in 2018 during the Golden Globes.

Together, they are not only two love birds but also parents to a baby-girl.

오랜만에 반가운 친척들과 만나 쌓인 이야기를 풀며 즐거운 시간을 보내는 설 연휴.

온 가족이 함께 모이는 날에 차가운 길바닥으로 내몰린 강아지가 있어 안타까움과 분노를 사고 있다.

지난 3일 귀성길에 올랐던 A씨는 휴게소에서 버려진 아기 강아지를 목격하고 자신의 페이스북을 통해 도움을 요청했다.

그는 "전라도 신북 휴게소에 누군가 새끼 강아지를 버리고 갔다"면서 "며칠째 비를 맞은 채 덜덜 떨며 앉아 주인만 기다린다고 한다"고 전했다.

A씨에 따르면 강아지는 상당히 순하고 사람을 잘 따르는 성격으로 알려졌다.

제대로 먹지도 못한 데다 다리에는 차량이 많은 곳을 뛰어다니다 생긴 것으로 추정되는 상처까지 있어 건강이 우려되는 상황이다.

A씨는 "이동 중 잠시 들른 휴게소라 제가 해줄 수 있는 건 먹을 것을 주는 것뿐이었다"라며 "저 아이를 도와줄만한 곳이 있겠느냐"라고 호소했다.

실제 그가 글과 함께 첨부한 사진 속에서는 털이 홀딱 젖은 채 허겁지겁 무언가를 먹는 강아지의 모습을 확인할 수 있다.

한편 농림축산식품부가 작년에 발표한 '동물 보호와 복지관리 실태'에 따르면 2017년 버려진 반려동물은 총 10만 2,593마리에 달했다.

이중 1,200마리가 설 연휴 기간 버려진 것으로 알려졌다.

하루 평균 200마리가 유기 혹은 유실된 셈인데, 이는 다른 기간의 4배가 넘는 숫자다.

이처럼 명절 연휴를 틈타 휴게소 등에 반려동물을 유기하는 사람이 많아지자 일각에서는 관련 법을 강화해야 한다는 지적이 꾸준히 제기되고 있다.

what you do is select "Backup now".

Now again you are getting the option of encrypting your backup.

If you want, if you don't select "Don't encrypt" or if you want to encrypt the backup select

"Encrypt backup" and put the password and then the iTunes will start to backup your
