Servus!

My name is Leon Goretzka. I was born on the 6th February 1995 in Bochum and I have three siblings.

I'm now 23 years old and am delighted to be here.

I started my youth career at VfL Bochum, and represented all age groups at junior level

before having one season in the first team in the second Bundesliga.

I then spent five years at FC Schalke 04 and now I am here.

It has always been somewhat of a dream of mine to end up here.

It is without doubt the biggest club in Germany and one of the biggest in the world.

First of all I am simply very happy to be here and

am hungry to start achieving things with this team.

I would have preferred to wear the number 8, because it's my favourite number,

but that was already taken so I have gone for the next best thing that included the number 8.

I also had 18 when I was at Bochum in my first pro season so it also has nice memories

and I am very satisfied to have that number on my back this season.

Because I knew a lot of the guys here from the national team,

it wasn't so difficult to integrate.

That meant I could get used to new surroundings surrounded by familiar faces.

Of course we want to win titles again, I think that is somewhat of a must at Bayern,

and we are all contracted to do that.

I want to get stuck in this season, I want to establish myself quickly

and play lots of games, perform well and help the club to achieve its goals.

Niklas Süle or Joshua Kimmich for example I have known since I was 14 or 15.

We all took different paths but now have all ended up together.

I have also known Serge for a while too and it's a cool story

as we all started playing together at international youth level

and after taking different paths are now all together again to reach our own goals as a team.

I am excited from my point of view to write another chapter in a bit of a romantic story.

Family has played a big role for me and I was living with my Dad again up

until four days ago. He was also an important mediator for me,

who has accompanied me all the way until now.

At the end of the day it's not so farfetched to say

he has got me here and led me forward and been the type of advisor who has really helped me in the past.

It was actually the first title of my senior career

and to have that come with the national team was obviously a great story.

I also liked the fact that we won even more as before the tournament the squad

was widely criticized along with Joachim Löw for being a "B Team".

Lifting the trophy was the perfect answer

and I think lots of players used that chance to establish themselves on a big stage.

I was certainly one of those too.

Who are your idols?

My father.

Who was your childhood hero?

The first one who comes to mind is Dariusz Wosz, because he played for VfL back then

and also stood out in that team as the number 10.

He was a flashy player who scored beautiful goals and as I was going to the VfL stadium a lot back then,

he is one of my first memories.

What were you like in school?

Troublesome first and foremost, but I did manage to get through my A Levels.

I even think I shocked a few of my teachers

but thankfully the performances were always there and consequently I was able to pull through.

What's your favourite food?

I have a variety of favourite foods and recently I have changed my diet slightly

so unfortunately I cannot revert back to the whole repertoire,

though my grandmother on my dad's side is very handy in the kitchen in any case.

Describe your home town of Bochum

Diverse, lovely and homely.

I used that before I came here for that reason.

BOSS METALZONE - WORST DISTORTION PEDAL EVER? - Duration: 11:06.

When I posted a picture on my Instagram, people, like, making puke faces and you know ...

Talking about how shit this pedal is and I know it has a weird kind of reputation of being a shitty ass pedal

You know, it's been a while since I tried out this pedal, so I figured I would hook it up and just see how it sounds

And see if it's worth the bad rep that everyone's giving it

So, I'm hooking up the pedal in the FX loop of my Randall Satan

Yeah, I tried this pedal back in the 90s, but at that time it ... yeah

It sounded like a shitty 90s distortion pedal

because basically all the distortion pedals sounded like shit back in the day

I'm hooking it up straight into the FX loop of the Randall Satan

We'll just gonna see, or hear, how it sounds

I'm using a Fortin ZUUL noise gate as well

Other than that, I mean since it's connected to the loop, it acts like a preamp

So none of these knobs on the front here makes any difference, except the depth

Except the depth and the presence knobs of the master section, or the power amp section of the amplifier. Okay.

This is the FX loop of the Satan, no metalzone engaged

Ehm ... what?

That sounds badass to me, I must say

I think the reason why the pedal has a bad rep is that people are using it in front of the amplifier

Which is probably gonna sound like shit, so let's try that, because that's why I'm here

I think the EMG active pickup did not work as well as the passive pickup in this

So let's switch back to this guitar

Alright, this is ... this is scary. Okay, so now ...

I'm using it in front of the amplifier, on a clean Channel

And I think this is the reason why it has a bad rep

Because people hooked it up to a bad clean channel or whatever

So it's probably gonna sound like ass, let's see ... gain. Let's turn it off first, so we don't kill ourselves

Okay, beautiful clean-

Oh, let's turn on the ...

Yeah, doesn't sound that hot

Just makes me wonder if this pedal was actually made to sound like a or act like a preamp

Because now it sounds broken

Yeah, now it sounds weird, but let's just try it with the distortion and see how that works. Oh.

Okay, so without the Metalzone

I've set up the Satan to sound a little bit dull

If you want a tight sound, you can do it like this, you set the girth at 12 or something like that, the grind at 1

But for overdrives I like to pull down the grind and pull up the girth

basically making it sound less modern

And then ...

You have to be really careful with the high knob here, because it really destroys the setting

I mean it's usable as an overdrive into an amplifier as well

And I know a lot of bands do it like this

You know, Cannibal Corpse did back in the day, old At The Gates, old Swedish Death Metal

They used the Metalzone, and the Heavy Metal of course

But yeah ... To be honest, I think it sounds really good

I mean, when I put it in the FX loop ... let's try that again.

Like, why does it have such a bad rep, I have no f***ing idea

To me it sounds chunky

I did not expect this, I don't know what say, I think it sounds pretty good

Are we shifting the trend here? Is Metalzone gonna be the new go-to preamp pedal?

dirt bike on 10 inch wheels with great engine it's a replica of KTM it's a 49

cc engine but it has 9 horse power

it's a kick start engine not a pull start

2 stroke so you need to mix it petrol with oil

but also it has oil in the gearbox, it's a wet clutch so it's a good quality clutch

it's a very high rev engine it goes to 12000rpm

WADI RUM: Living with Bedouins | VLOG AROUND the WORLD - Duration: 11:57.

Hello everybody, Direction Wadi Rum today, here we go!

Hello everyone, I hope you are well.

So I've been living here in Wadi Rum for almost two weeks.

A family of locals and even Bedouins who live in the desert took me in,

in this small village of Wadi Rum. And they feed me, host me, bed and full board.

It's really a lovely family. I am extremely lucky.

So this man who picked me up hitchhiking to take me to the village

offered me to stay with his family.

And I did the right thing saying yes. Just goes to show ! Sometimes you have to say yes to life.

"I sing life, I dance life, I am nothing but love."

And that's an absolutely crazy experience.

I live with them day by day.

I even stick in the tourists jeep tours since they work in tourism.

'Cause it is quite a touristic area.

So the father has a camp, the two sons do jeep tours. That's how it goes.

I stick in tours and enjoy the best and the most beautiful views of the region.

And I eat with them.

And I even have my personal desk now since I help father and son

with their websites and TripAdvisor etc. So the father made me a desk where I can sit.

Because I explained to him that I am not used to sit on the floor all the time

and that I had back pain. He even prepared me a bed because the first night I slept on the floor.

And I told him that I was not used to it and that it was a little hardcore and he made me a ...

finally they had a kind of foldable bed they use from time to time.

I imagine for the guests, which I am.

So I sleep extremely well, like a baby.

I got used to Turkish toilets.

And there is hot water so that it was a bit of a fright.

Because I am still not used to cold showers.

So yeah, it's "royal". The food is absolutely delicious.

I even succeeded in baking cookies in their traditional oven.

So there aren't a lot of pictures because taking photos especially of women is a little complicated.

Photos are unfavorably looked. And in relation to religion, it is something quite frowned upon.

But we had super interesting discussions, including in relation to religion,

to differences in cultures. I even talked with the father, I was able to talk about contraception.

Who'd have thought ? They are super open-minded and it's really a crazy experience.

I also spent a lot of time dressing the two girls's hair, especially the youngest.

I made braids, African mats. She was delighted.

That's my experience in a few words.

Well, I'm about to leave and discover Amman before leaving Jordan.

In fact, if I stay that long, it's because I was offered to attend the wedding of one of the cousins.

I think this is the dream of every traveler who wants to know a little of the culture

to attend a traditional local wedding.

Because actually they explained to me that I could not use it, share it or show it.

And well, I don't know why... but, the mix of many things I had learned the day before, at the wedding

The fact that they can't leave their homes if their husband forbids them, or if their husband is not in town.

In fact at this wedding I talked with another girl who was also in a family but in a "Workaway".

and passed onto each other through the mobile phone which means without saying a single word.

And finally it was a very beautiful moment. We talked about religion, we talked about ...

I was afraid they would be unhappy.

And in the end my fears are even bigger today, because it really felt like

they had no perspective on their lives. I mean, it's really my feeling I...

I am very scared by making this video and drawing this conclusion

to appear like someone judgemental and saying "Things are this way.

And that person is just like that."

Not at all. It's only me passing you my feeling, and my feeling from that moment is that

they heard so much the same thing since they are children,

that it could never be otherwise for them.

And that was... it.

So it was really weird for me and I ended up thinking 'whatever I say actually...'

'it wouldn't change much', so it would just ruin my evening, my last night with them,

which was the case a little, and the worst of all, in fact, with girls it has been

a very beautiful moment finally, even if it still made me sad

that the eldest gets married especially in 2 weeks. That's it, whereas she's not exactly 18 years old yet.

I do not know if for the marriage she will be 18 years old but for now she is 17.

So apparently, she does not know her future husband very well so that also makes me feel uncomfortable...

... anyway.

And so the worst thing about that was actually when the father arrived, he was always very open minded with me

I had great conversations with him so I thought it was going to be the same

well it wasn't at all!

He put all the blame on me, he told me that I shouldn't have drawn

he had me delete the pictures from my phone, one by one, under his eyes,

he was very strict and I did not imagine him like that and it made me feel really weird...

I felt really bad and he also asked me passwords for the website

he made sure I had done the job right he made sure that I gave him my contact details

that I was not going to drop him but in an... "oppressive" way and I really felt comfortable

and then, this last night was really really weird

and I'm disappointed to have that bitter taste in the mouth knowing that I spent 2 amazing weeks with them

and at the same time I think it's great at last to have lived this experience

because I have the impression I've been beyond the carapace, that I understood a little

how it worked inside, and I didn't stay on the surface and when it's all said and done,

I'm just, well, thankful to have met these people and to have been able to

to understand a little, how they could work, and who they were.

things we can learn from the Lord's Prayer coming up day

hey everyone welcome to Wednesday's with crystal I'm crystal Sparks I'm so glad

that you are here on my channel hey I am and the series of talking about prayer

and so if you have missed any of the last few weeks maybe you're new here on

my channel you want to be sure jump over watch the playlist I've got some great

content over there that's just going to help you see prayer a little bit

differently and so over the next few weeks we're just talking about prayer

and I believe that God wants us to deepen our prayer life understand it in

a better way prayer was so important that the disciples could have asked

Jesus how to do anything and the one thing that they asked him in Luke

chapter 11 was Lord teach us to pray and so I'm going to impact three things to

you and this video that I believe that we can see out of the Lord's Prayer and

I think it's really going to inspire you and help you see the Lord's Prayer in a

different way than you've ever seen it before the first thing is is that God's

will is heaven on earth in Luke 11 it says that and he said to them when you

pray say our Father who is in heaven Hallowed be your name your kingdom come

your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

see that line right there he says your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

so here's the thing people question all the time

what is God's will for my life what is God's will for my business for our world

for everything here what we can know is that God's will for the earth is

whatever is happening in heaven so in us looking at heaven we can know what God

wants on earth the Bible tells us that there's no sickness in heaven there's no

sadness in heaven that the streets are paved with gold and back to Genesis

chapter 2 verse 11 and 12 when God created a man it says that he stuck them

in the land with gold pearl and onyx so if God didn't care about money and he

didn't care about our finances then why was he paving streets with gold and why

when he created Adam he put him in a place with gold pearl and onyx the

reason why is because he put him in a place that looked like where he lived

and so it looks like where God lived so in our own lives we can know that

whatever is happening in heaven that's God's will here on earth the Bible tells

us there's no sickness in heaven that we're all and love there's no

unforgiveness there's no hostility there's no wars so the truth is is

that's God's will here as well so any area of lack in your life is under the

influence of the enemy and not under the influence of heaven because God's will

is for you to walk in abundance in every single area and whenever and we see this

all throughout Scripture because in building the tabernacle if God had the

people give so much money that they had to tell them to stop giving because what

they had given was enough think about Jesus at his birth the most commentaries

would tell you that the Magi when they brought the gifts to him that the worth

of all those gifts was enough to last Jesus the rest of his life Jesus and his

mother for the rest of their life just in those gifts given what is what is

that telling us is that God's will is for abundance and think about Jobe

whenever the enemy began to attack Joe the first thing that the enemy did was

attack job's finances so whenever we see that we can say that God's will for our

life is whatever it looks like on heaven that's what he wants it to be here on

earth so you can have confidence whenever you're praying for anything

that you know is seen in the heavenly realm you can be confident that that is

God's will here on earth the second thing I want you to get out of the

Lord's Prayer is Jesus opens it up like this

our Father now I want you to realize that nowhere in the Old Testament did if

the people ever call God their father for the first time ever Jesus is telling

not just that he approaches God as father which would make sense right

because he's the son of God but he's letting them know you can approach him

as your father whenever we see God I want you to know that he wants him to he

wants you to see him as your father Jesus came

he might restore relationship between us and God he doesn't want us to see God as

this higher being that we could never ever talk to or never approach and just

being honest that's the reason why a lot of people don't spend time in prayer

it's because they see God is this far distant person that there's no way they

could ever come to him and the truth is is that God wants to be seen as a loving

father I'll never forget and Brailey my daughter we were going through a time

with her and she was in that stage where she was just testing our patience on

everything you guys know what I'm talking about and that our parents and

we had to get her in trouble for something that she had done and later on

that afternoon I told her I said hey brightly let's go grab some ice cream

and she said mom I don't deserve ice cream and I said yes you do and she goes

I was bad and I talked back and forth with her and then with big tears running

down her cheek she said mom do you still love me and I began to realize this is

exactly how we are with God Jesus is in that opening statement of our Father

he's letting the people know that God came ultimately for us to be in

relationship with him that he loves us without restraint in Romans 8 it says

that he there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ

Jesus see a lot of times we don't receive from God because not because we

aren't will he isn't willing but because we feel undeserving it's because we're

not coming to him in the relationship that we have we're coming to him feeling

undeserving and because we feel undeserving we don't pray bold prayers

the third thing I want you to get out of the prayer the Lord's Prayer is that you

have everything that you need for today you have everything you need for today

he says Lord give us this day our daily bread and to understand this fully you

need to know that in the Old Testament the Bible tells us that they were fed by

manna each day but the one thing about them being fed with manna each day was

that they could only collect enough for that day so there was people who

in their worry and in their stress the Bible tells us that they hoarded up more

than what they could have for the day and in the morning they would wake up

and they would open their sack and it would be filled with worms and totally

destroyed and I began to think about that that's exactly what worry and

anxiety does it tries to hoard up for tomorrow with today's provision and God

never wanted us to live that way I heard a statistic recently that said

eighty-five percent of what we worry about never happens I would probably

like to say that that's probably a whole lot higher than eighty five percent

because our minds are constantly going see part of God's will for our life is

that we have everything we need to provide for us emotionally spiritually

and physically every 24 hours every 24 hours it's like it's on auto-ship that

God has a fresh dose of his provision of his joy of his strength to get you

through today often times when we start feeling worried and overwhelmed it's

usually because we start letting our minds wonder about things that are weeks

ahead or maybe even months ahead the Bible tells us to cast our cares on him

for he cares for us oh now we can cast our cares the Bible doesn't say that

he's going to take them from us but we do have the choice in casting them to

him and now once we cast them to him he's faithful to take it but he's not

going to come take something away from you that you're not giving so usually

what I ask myself if I start getting in worry or overwhelmed the first thing I

ask myself is this is there anything I can do today to change it is there

anything I can do today to change it you know I had a speaking event recently and

my flight I was flying in and I had plenty of time I had booked the flight

with plenty of time to be able to get off the airplane drive over to the event

even have time for lunch right and so when I was sitting in the airport

they let us know that we are playing got delayed well the first delay was no big

deal it was just 15 minutes so I was like it's fine it's just 15 minutes well

then it got thirty minutes more 45 minutes more an hour or more

and oh my goodness by the time they finally got us on the plane I was like

it's finally we're still going to be fine and then the pilot comes over the

speaker and he says we're gonna be sitting on the take off the tarmac for

45 minutes before we're going to be cleared for takeoff because there's so

much congestion here at the airport and here's the thing is I had this thought I

hit my mind thoughts of worry and anxiety I'm supposed to speak at this

event what am I going to do and I thought to myself is there anything I

can do today to change it I'm not a pilot I don't have another fly airplane

I can't fly you know I'm not that I'm not a superhero so all I can do is sit

here on the plane and just choose to not worry about it

you know I showed up right on time for the event and everything turned out just

fine God took care of it all and here's the thing is that if I would have let

myself get in to worry and to overwhelm then I wouldn't have been able to stand

up and began to speak God's Word boldly why because I would have been so

burdened by worry and anxiety and it wasn't gonna change anything it wouldn't

make the plane take off any faster and it wouldn't make a skip there any

quicker and the same is true for you when you start feeling that overwhelmed

ask yourself is there anything I can do to change it because part of God's

promise for my life is that I have everything I need for today the second

question that I ask myself is why am I not trusting God in this area worried

anxiety and stress show where you begin to trust yourself as being the provider

for your life I love that Jesus here he says Lord give us this day our daily

bread he doesn't say let us make our own bread

he doesn't say let us go find our own bread he doesn't say lord help us figure

out a way to get more bread he says God give us so in our lives when we are

living the way that God's called us to live our heads are always upward we're

knowing where our source is and anytime I start feeling stressed and overwhelmed

it's because I'm in the kitchen trying to make something that God never told me

to make I'm trying to provide for myself instead of trusting God to provide for

me so hey did you get something out of that
