I was away for a few days

I was on my wedding anniversary with my beloved wife Ana,

We decided to do the most cliché thing in the world,

and so… I made a series of purchases.

I'll try to be very brief,

because I wanna show you a few books I bought,

and how I used it in this short time, as an inspiration

in the last piece I did.

The first book is the art of Furi Kuri,

is one of my favorite anime, produced by Gainax studio,

the book is mostly the sequences of the animated scenes,

this is useful to me because

there is a lot of movement,

and that's something that define my work a lot at the beginning of every process.

Other is Cannabis Works, 1 and 2.

by Tatsuyuki Tanaka. a director, art director and

animator of different Japanese movies,

among these, this Akira, one of my favorites,

Basically, the book reflects a genre that I really like,

called cyber punk,

as well as arts belonging to various projects and

collaborations with other artists, such as Katsuya Terada.

The style of the book is a mixture of storyboard with post modern comic,

at the level of composition I consider it a true gem of inspiration.

Tekkonkinkreet,

this is the artbook of the artist Shinji Kimura,

the director of the movie,

based in a manga series created by Taiyō Matsumoto in 1993,

and is about two orphans kids,

one called Black and the other White.

If you haven't seen it, go and watch it.

Technically this is a book of backgrounds,

cityscapes and landscapes, of course it has its characters

but I think that this is what surrounds the content of the book.

It helps me a lot

because I'm very bad at making this type of elements

and I need to enrich my visual library a bit

with more backgrounds.

And of course, The Dad of the Bati Bati (Venezuelan Ice cream)

the very book of art of Overwatch,

I wanted this book for a long time,

not only because several friends are there, but because

I am a fan of all the visual aesthetics of Overwatch,

I'm not a gamer,

but I always remember the concepts

of this game

when I'm going to my inspirational library.

The work of Arnold Tsang,

is one of my favorites, from his Street Fighter drawing

to the most recent he has developed in Overwatch.

I was inspired a little in these books,

but the similarities are very poor.

It's been a week since a bought the books,

So I'm just

starting to digest one by one,

and the truth

is that I've only been able to take a look at each one,

but nevertheless they have inspired me a lot.

the anatomy, the line,

the ideas....

Let's say that I personally work with

very clear values and desaturated colors,

as if it were a shot of animated film.

I think

that the process,

at the beginning is something personal.

I usually start the same way

but I always take a look to my references,

in this case, to the

Furi Kuri book,

it helps me to loose my hand at the beginning

and the truth is that there is a lot of variety,

of movement, composition,

anatomy, expression...

Is something you watch a lot in animation.

A fact that I find curious

is that the budget

for Furi Kuri,

was made to make several seasons,

however they decided to do

only 6 episodes of the anime,

and by investing this amount of money in so few episodes,

they developed a fairly high quality.

All the animators that worked here,

the directors, the producers ...

let's say

they made a work of art, in particular, for me,

and that's why I think it's a lot of inspiration

I always take a look at the start,

even if they have nothing to do with what I'm going to do,

but it helps me to stay fresh with what

I want to create.

This is only talking about technique.

About the concept, as a I told you,

is a personal thing,

when I start drawing this,

I was thinking about the sensation when you come back from a vacation,

to the office, when you have to hear

all this tiredness feeling,

So I remembered when I worked in an advertising agency,

to reflect that sensation, something I haven't done before,

We have three hot girls, literally it's boiling, to deliver nine heart phrases

that you need to know when you're visiting the beach.

And just before we dive into those nine hot phrases I want to say a huge thank

A drop in the ocean so this means an insignificant amount, imagine one tiny

drop of water going into a huge ocean it's quite insignificant and isn't going

to make much of a difference. So for example imagine one person giving three

pounds to a charity that needs millions of pounds it's not going to make that

much difference, it's a drop in the ocean, but if we all give three pounds it's not

a drop in the ocean anymore and maybe they'll make a million.

The coast is clear. The coast is clear means that your way

ahead is available, it's clear, you're not in danger of being caught. To look like a

beached whale. To describe somebody as looking like a beached whale is really

not very nice, in fact a beached whale is well, as you guessed it, a whale that has

perhaps washed up on shore, very often they die not great, and if

someone is rather large perhaps with a big belly maybe with good reason you

might describe them as a beached whale. They might not be able to move around

very easily or get up.

Plenty more fish in the sea. So have you ever had a broken heart?

Most of us sadly have, now when we're nursing a broken heart

our friends often want to comfort us and when they do they might say this

expression "don't worry there are plenty more fish in the sea". Now this means

don't worry you can find someone new, there are many other choices out there.

So the fish represent people or future romantic partners. Life's a beach. This is

the completely opposite to a very similar sounding phrase Life's a (swear word)!

We won't say because it's not family-friendly. if life is a beach then

everything is wonderful just like if you're on a beach. The tide is turning. So

the tide is turning simply means there is a change or reversal. Now let me give

you the example of sport perhaps that you support a football team and they

might not be winning many matches. All of a sudden they start to win and they're

doing well. In this case you could say the tide is turning.

To bury your head in the sand this means to refuse to face or deal with a

difficult situation.

It's not the size of the ship it's the motion of the ocean

Many people think this is a little bit naughty, a bit fruity because you're

saying it's not about the size of your tool but about how you use it,

but this can be used for many other things.

5 UNBELIEVABLE NBA RECORDS! - Duration: 5:01.

We all love stats and records.

We love to count field goals and shooting percentages.

We know who has scored the most points in a single game and who hit the most free throws,

but there are some NBA records which don't get the recognition yet they are still very

impressive.

Hey everyone.

Hope you are doing well.

I'm PRPLPRNCH and I want to share 5 UNBELIEVABLE NBA records that just might shock you.

Number 1.

- Most consecutive ejections - 6

Don Boven was a role player.

For a small forward/shooting guard, he wasn't much of a shooter.

For his career he hit just 33.9% of his field goals.

He played in the NBA for just 3 seasons,but he did something that still stands in the

record books.

While playing for the Milwaukee Hawks, during the 1951-1952 season, Don Boven racked up

6 fouls in 6 consecutive NBA games.

Seems unbelievable and who knows what kind of a record he would've obtained if he would

play more than just 195 NBA games.

Number 2.

Worst record to make the playoffs.

Baltimore Bullets - 16-54

Man, 1950s were crazy.

The league had 10 teams back then, there were two divisions and 4 teams of each division

made the playoffs.

The format back then meant that some really bad teams made the playoffs., but none worse

than he Baltimore Bullets who went 16-54 on the year.

To their credit, they were 4 games better than the Philadelphia Warriors, so they earned

their playoff spot fair and square.

I guess.

7 players of that Baltimore Bullets team averaged more than 10 points per game, yet no one averaged

more than 14.2.

Oh yeah, that guy, Don Boven we just talked about , he was on this team as well.

Talk about making your name in the history books.

Number 3.

Most assists in a single half

Again, the 50s were crazy.

In a February 27th, 1959 NBA game, Boston Celtics met with Minneapolis Lakers.

In that game Boston Celtics scored the most points in a regulation game EVER.

173 points ladies and gentlemen - that's no joke.

Tommy Heinsohn can take most of the blame for that with 43 points, but Bob Cousy was

excellent.

He scored 31 points himself and added 28 assists.

19 of those assists were amassed in a single half, which is just crazy.

If you look back at Cousy's career stats, the assist numbers really don't drop your

jaw.

He never even had a double digit assist season, but in this game, he was assist god.

19 for the half and 28 for the game.

Amazing.

Number 4.

Most points in a single quarter - 58

On October 20, 1972 Boston Celtics were facing Buffalo Braves.

Boston Celtics were the clearly superior team and it showed on the scoreboard as well.

Until the 4th quarter.

After 3 quarters Boston was leading 103 to 60, but then the 4th quarter happened.

Buffalo Braves scored 58 points in the fourth quarter.

At the end Buffalo Braves lost by only 8 points so the record was essentially worthless.

Still though, this was something totally unexpected, especially considering that Braves piled up

those points against the almighty Celtics.

Most of the Braves effort was led by Randy Smith, Dick Garrett and Fred Hilton, while

Bob Mcadoo had an off night.

Number 5.

Most minutes played in a single game The best players in the NBA right now average

close to 40 minutes per game.

That's considered quite a load.

There are ofcourse anomalies like Wilt Chamberlain's 48.5 minute average during 1961-1962 NBA season,

but how exhausted would you be if you were Dale Ellis?

On November 9th, 1989, Seattle Supersonics played against Milwaukee Bucks.

Dale Ellis played 69 minutes and scored 53 points, but that still wasnt enough as the

Sonics lost by one point after five overtimes.

His fellow teammate Xavier Mcdaniels played 68 minutes.

One of the most recent endurance tests was performed by Paul Millsap who in a 2017 game

against NY Knicks played 60 minutes.

Unlike Ellis, Millsap won the game, so the effort was rewarded.

So there you go guys.
