the word um because I feel like it gives like false hope
oh I don't think I mean you don't really recover from a mental disorder like it's
not going anywhere I mean my schizophrenia definitely isnt and if
yours has awesome to you oh but I don't really like the idea of recovery because
what does that mean does that mean that you won't need medication does that mean
you'll be able to live by yourself does that mean you won't be in a mental
institution of some sort like what does recovery mean and I I don't know because
that would be you know different to every person and at the end of the day
though I talked to so many different people with mental disorders and myself
even you know what does recovery look like like what would it look like for me
I don't know not feeling suicidal all the time being able to live alone I I don't
know so I it's just weird um I just feel like the word itself it's
it's not good um I just give so many people false hope of well one day I'll
be recovered from this thing but there's nothing to be recovered from you know
you didn't get depression you didn't get bipolar anything else like that because
you got sick I mean it's not like you're gonna you know suddenly get better with
me I like to view schizophrenia as just like a neutral it's not good or bad okay
it's just what it is and I can't really come back now I can recover from let's
say a really bad episode but I can't recover from schizophrenia it's not
going anywhere I think you know a lot of people get so frustrated and they're in
and out of whether it's like medications programs hospitals and they're
just in like that vicious cycle because they have like these false ideas of what
recovery looks like and it's not normal it's not you know being without a mental
disorder what it is though is learning how to manage it learning how to manage
depressive episodes learning how to manage you know hallucinations learning
how to manage you know urges to hurt yourself with self-harm
that's what it is so instance with me will I ever recover no no cause
there's nothing really to recover from but I do have to constantly be on my toes
learning how to manage it learning how to manage you know new hallucinations
learning how to manage my depression which just continues to spiral and I
think it's hard because a lot of times we look you know at other people and
you're like well they have schizophrenia they have bipolar depression and like
look how great their life is I get it with me all the time people will message
me being like you can't possibly be schizophrenic because you talk to to
clearly you know like guys yeah I just organized thoughts behavior and speech
is part of schizophrenia but it's not part of it 24/7 and I only make videos
when I'm in a good state oh but it's easy to look at other people and think
oh my god they have it together and and you don't really know you you have
really no idea what that person is going through and while you might look at them
and think like they have it together I want to be in their spot you you really
don't know some of us are just manage better at managing certain parts of our
lives than other parts so you can easily you know if you only see one part of my
life and I got that on lock you're like oh wow Rachel has everything together
like no is one thing one thing right there

So today tadaa! I made a shirasu baby sardines bowl
this sort of fresh tasting light dishes are nice during this crazy hot season
I also added 12 runny eggs to this
alrighty lets get cookin
These are the ingredients Rice baby sardine leek tempura bits bonito flake
White sesame seeds soy sauce mirin sesame oil Wasabi and runny egg
Time to make the runny egg Once the water comes to a boil turn off the heat
Let the eggs sit in that for 20 minutes or so
chop the leek
in a bowl add the sardine leek and tempura bits a bit of the bonito flake as well
add about a handful for each person served of the flakes
White sesame seeds And then mix
its like a home made furikake sprinkle
mirin soy sauce sesame oil Wasabi and mix
Put all the rice into a bowl and top with everything we made
make a bed for the eggs to sit in
then add the egg
foreigners be hatin' on raw eggs but I wonder how they feel about runny eggs
then add the sauce
tadaa its all done
the eggs are so jiggly it looks like it will be an enjoyable mix of textures
itadakimasu I will start by breaking open some eggs
its gonna def be yummy
the shirasu sardine are so yummy shirasu and eggs are a perfect combination
and with the added tempura bits It gives it a nice rich crunchy flavor
the shirasu are so fluffy And slightly salty... they're so delish
Everything is so light and fresh tasting
The egg yolks are so rich and delish
The Bonito flakes also lend a nice flavor to this
The Miso soup for today is filled with plenty of eggplant and as always its 1kg worth
Eggplant is so yummy
And this is the sauce
You can really taste the sesame oil in the sauce its so sweet and savory
The sardines and leek and tempura bits and bonito and sesame strike a nice balance
The each lend a nice yumminess and you can taste each distinct flavor in it
Japanese food and miso soup go so nicely together
I will now break open the last two eggs
It's kind of hard to balance out the egg and rice ratios
its way yummier with the egg
Last mouthful itadakimasu
gochisosamadeshita the shirasu and egg bowl were so yummy
You can really taste each individual ingredient in here which made each bite so different and interesting
The fluffy shirasu went so nicely with the runny egg and it helped moisten it slightly
that made it taste even better I love that flavor of baby sardine shirasu
Runny egg shirasu and soy sauce alone make for a great flavor combination
but with all the extra ingredients it really elevated the dish
the shirasu are so easy to work with and taste so great

Jo's story - Duration: 4:32.
I started drinking at the age of 13 and it was fun with friends and it was an
escape from home. As I got into my twenties, I was working, I was in and out
of relationships that weren't ideal let's say, and the drinking was still
social although it was quite heavy. But once I started my family I stopped
drinking altogether. The partner I had my daughters with started using heroin and
that really frightened me and I eventually left him taking the girls
with me. Eventually I met my son's father who was wonderful. We we had our little
boy and the girls were happy and then suddenly he died. And that is the point
when alcohol became an important part of my life
and I think I started drinking really to ease the anxiety. I would end up drinking
for oblivion and it just escalated from there basically.
I would wake up after a lonely drink the night before feeling dreadful
and I'd have to get my son ready for school, then I'd come home, go to see a
friend or go to the pub, drink until I felt better and then go to school, pick
him up full of mints hoping nobody would realize. I think the lowest point in my
addiction has to be when my son couldn't live with me anymore because of
my drinking and he had to go and live with my elder daughter, because I
couldn't take care of him. He was being neglected by me.
It was actually my son's education welfare officer who said that I needed
help and he suggested a family service. They encouraged me to get in touch
with Change Grow Live. I was so nervous going to Change Grow Live for the first
time. It was terrifying thinking about walking through that door and speaking
to someone.
After one session I realized that there was nothing to be worried
about at all and everyone was in the same boat as me, they were all fighting
their demons just as I was and so supportive. It was amazing and we really
helped each other in group. I loved it in the end.
I cannot tell you the difference in my life now, it is amazing. I have a
wonderful relationship with my family, with my children and my grandchildren, I
work with a women's group at Change Grow Live, I run an allotment for
Emerging Futures the aftercare service. I wake up every morning wondering what
the day has to offer.

free press but there also comes a high level of responsibility with that the
media routinely reports on classified information in government secrets that
put lives in danger and risk valuable national security tools this has
happened both in our administration and in past administrations one of the worst
cases was the reporting on the US ability to listen to Osama bin Laden's
satellite phone in the late 90s because of that reporting he stopped using that
phone in the country lost valuable intelligence unfortunately it's now
standard to abandon common sense ethical practices this is a two-way street we
certainly support a free press we certainly condemn violence against
anybody but we also ask that people act responsibly and report accurately and
fairly they were trying to prevent a broadcaster from getting his broadcast

in terms of hitting anybody and no broadcaster was broadcasting state

So today tadaa! I made a shirasu baby sardines bowl
this sort of fresh tasting light dishes are nice during this crazy hot season
I also added 12 runny eggs to this
alrighty lets get cookin
These are the ingredients Rice baby sardine leek tempura bits bonito flake
White sesame seeds soy sauce mirin sesame oil Wasabi and runny egg
Time to make the runny egg Once the water comes to a boil turn off the heat
Let the eggs sit in that for 20 minutes or so
chop the leek
in a bowl add the sardine leek and tempura bits a bit of the bonito flake as well
add about a handful for each person served of the flakes
White sesame seeds And then mix
its like a home made furikake sprinkle
mirin soy sauce sesame oil Wasabi and mix
Put all the rice into a bowl and top with everything we made
make a bed for the eggs to sit in
then add the egg
foreigners be hatin' on raw eggs but I wonder how they feel about runny eggs
then add the sauce
tadaa its all done
the eggs are so jiggly it looks like it will be an enjoyable mix of textures
itadakimasu I will start by breaking open some eggs
its gonna def be yummy
the shirasu sardine are so yummy shirasu and eggs are a perfect combination
and with the added tempura bits It gives it a nice rich crunchy flavor
the shirasu are so fluffy And slightly salty... they're so delish
Everything is so light and fresh tasting
The egg yolks are so rich and delish
The Bonito flakes also lend a nice flavor to this
The Miso soup for today is filled with plenty of eggplant and as always its 1kg worth
Eggplant is so yummy
And this is the sauce
You can really taste the sesame oil in the sauce its so sweet and savory
The sardines and leek and tempura bits and bonito and sesame strike a nice balance
The each lend a nice yumminess and you can taste each distinct flavor in it
Japanese food and miso soup go so nicely together
I will now break open the last two eggs
It's kind of hard to balance out the egg and rice ratios
its way yummier with the egg
Last mouthful itadakimasu
gochisosamadeshita the shirasu and egg bowl were so yummy
You can really taste each individual ingredient in here which made each bite so different and interesting
The fluffy shirasu went so nicely with the runny egg and it helped moisten it slightly
that made it taste even better I love that flavor of baby sardine shirasu
Runny egg shirasu and soy sauce alone make for a great flavor combination
but with all the extra ingredients it really elevated the dish
the shirasu are so easy to work with and taste so great

Jet lag is one of those funny things like a hangover or a common cold.
It seems such an easy thing to beat, yet we can't seem to do it.
Or can we?
Everyone knows the symptoms of jet lag who has already travelled from one time-zone to
another.
First, there is the blank mind and deep fatigue.
Then, there is the torture of insomnia kicking in at 3 am.
Every now and then we hear about new innovations and technologies to help us fight jet lag.
For example, Boeing designed its newer Dreamliners to be easier on the body.
It has increased humidity, less noise, better air-filtration system and most importantly;
lower cabin altitude, so your body doesn't feel like you're on top of Mount Everest.
But nothing beats good old calculation.
Jet lag, at its core, is our biological clock going crazy.
Basically, our bodies work on a 24-hour cycle called "circadian rhythms."
When we disturb that, we get all the familiar symptoms.
So if you can keep up with your rhythm and keep your sleeping schedule, theoretically,
you should be fine.
But I know.
When you have to travel for three solid days, from Frankfurt to Osaka, connecting flight
in Dubai…
… Well, it's not easy.
But you don't have to do it by yourself.
There are sleep trackers and smart watches with the same functionality to help you stay
in sync with your biological clock.
Personally, I've been measuring my sleep pattern with trackers for years.
I use a smart alarm to wake me up at the best time possible.
My fitness level is high due to conscious work-out with the help of fitness trackers
and I learned how to meditate and fall asleep when it's necessary.

Over the course of the series, I've been struck by how many of my guests talk about investing
as a game because it's exactly how I've always thought of it.
That mental challenge is what attracts a lot of people to finance in the first place.
But that game, with its ever-shifting rules, constantly seems to be actively trying to
keep us from winning.
To do that, it has to break us, yet another dynamic Ben was able to understand through
the inhabitants of Little River Farm.
So most people think that breaking a horse is-- well, we're all familiar with a bucking
bronco.
The westerns.
The westerns, right, where Rowdy Gaines gets on there.
And you break the spirit of the horse.
That's what it means.
That's not it at all.
That's not how you break a Mustang.
And I didn't know either, the process until we adopted this Mustang and until my teenage
daughters told me what this is called.
But it's called "negging."
And it's negative attention.
So here's how it works.
The trainer-- in this case, our 14-year-old daughter-- she sits in the paddock with this
wild horse.
This horse has never been touched, never inside, never had a bridle.
I mean, you've got to kind of prod it along to get it onto the train, and onto the trailer,
and the light.
But it's never been ridden, for sure.
And she just sits there in the middle of the paddock, reading a book, with her back turned--
To the horse- To the horse.
And the horse comes up and looks around.
You turn your back to the horse.
And she was very familiar with this because apparently, this is how--
High school.
Is this?
Tweenage, right, right-- where, an example would be, some boy comes up to a girl and
says, oh, you'd look pretty if you cut your hair.
If this negative attention.
It's an insult.
But it's paying you attention by insulting you or ignoring you-- studiously ignoring
you.
Well, these animals, these horses, are so intelligent.
They're like humans in this regard.
They're very social.
The wild horse can't stand to be ignored, can't stand to be left alone.
And so they will come up, and they'll get closer and closer.
And they will initiate the first contact.
They will break themselves.
Interesting.
And it's so much like humans are.
When I think about social media and how we are, in a sense, brought in to these stories,
or political parties, or the like-- we can't help ourselves.
I've often wondered why people write these ferocious you know tweets about the latest
thing that Trump said, or the latest thing that Nancy Pelosi said.
And they get the red-state guy who-- not guys who make Twitter their life, but just kind
of random guy who just-- Couldn't help themselves-
Who just can't help themselves, but just write on this stuff.
Well, that's like these wild horses.
We break ourselves.
And once you start-- this is true for so many of the things, I think, we endure in our lives,
as social animals-- once you start looking for this sort of stuff, you see it everywhere.
Everywhere.
Everywhere.
Everywhere, right?
So this process of negging, of negative attention, of just turning your back, and you say, no,
no, no.
No, I've got something I want to say.
I want to participate in this.
You say, OK, we'll let you participate, but on our terms.
Here's the bridle.
Yeah, bite down on that bit.
Yeah, you can participate.
That's how you do with horses.
And it's so much more effective than the brute-force method of, by God, you're going to wear this
bit and this bridle.
And you're going to chomp down on this.
You're bound to my wills— --force you to do it.
That's not how it works.
And that's not how it works the way-- I call it the "nudging state" and the nudging oligarchy--
business interest.
They're not shaking you and saying, thou shalt do this.
What you do is you set up a system where we willingly take the bet.
And again, once you start looking for it, you see it everywhere.
