Youtube daily report w Aug 22 2018

Episode 15 of the best 60% keyboard series in the world.

Make sure you share this video with everyone you know

so they can see you're actually not that sad in the grand scheme of things.

This is a great keyboard for your first one, and it's relatively easy on the wallet.

People seem to get really exctited for keysets and then if they see them more than a dozen

times, they're sick of them.

But you'll stare into this kittens eye indefinitely, won't you.

Is the 9009 colourway played-out?

Not to me, and for the next 3 minutes that's all that matters.

The venerable Duck Viper is pretty unmistakable, especially when you see it from the side with

those distinctive cutouts for the LEDs.

It's just class, or class as they say in the south of England.

I hear they have inside toilets there too.

The PBT IMSTO keycaps add to air or sophistication and don't try to compete with the LEDs for

attention.

Aye, she's a reet little, belter this 'un.

Is it just me, or does the depth of field in the photo make it look like the keyboard

is a miniature?

Ares, the Greek god of war, wasn't exactly loved by his father Zeus, or anyone really

except for the Spartans.

But who could fail to love this keyboard that bears his name?

The blood red colour of this one,

which I think goes suprisingly well with SA Camping, is very fitting.

The 5 degree case is one we've seen a few times, but not many in the frosted version.

I've never seen these keycaps before though, and I quite like them.

The characters above the alphas are references to control codes that perform functions other

than printing something on your screen.

It's a pretty obscure reference, and if you don't know your ENQ from your ACK, then I

guess you're SOL so GTFO.

I know this one is going to get people saltier than P.F Chang's Hot and Sour Soup Bowl, but

I'm going to do it anyway.

And it's not even a 60%!

But look at it.

The Canoe is one of the coolest looking 65% keyboards out there, and if you can get yours

to actually work, then that's a bonus.

But seriously, if you let go of your hate for the private group buy,

you have to appreciate that SA Nautilus looks great, especially in this excellent photo.

Haven't had an HHKB on here in a while it seems.

There aren't whole lot of exterior customization options for it,

but HHKB owners seem to always take care that their photos are as clean as their keyboards.

The colourful keycaps on this one remind me of Barrat's Refreshers,

which I haven't had in years and would probably put me in a sugar coma if I tried them.

This is a first for this series.

A Campine mark four case; this one in the HHKB version and beautiful white powdercoat.

The deskmat is placed really well and makes it look like the keyboard is sparkling.

GMK Cyan adds to the bright and clean feeling,

and this user is going all out to keep it up with some Xiān niúnǎi.

Mmmm Měiwèi de!

Thanks for sticking it out to the end.

To show me who the real MVPs add the hashtag refreshers.

I'll see you next time.

Lowe's to Close Orchard Supply Stores, Recruits CVS Finance Chief - Duration: 5:01.

Shares in Lowe's fell 1.8% in premarket trading Wednesday as the company lowered its full-year sales outlook despite reporting higher sales and profits in its latest quarter

The home-improvement retailer said Wednesday it will close all 99 of its Orchard Supply Hardware stores, a chain with locations in California, Florida and Oregon, by the end of the year

Lowe's acquired Orchard in 2013 after that retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection

"We are developing plans to aggressively rationalize store inventory, reducing lower-performing inventory while investing in increased depth of high velocity items," Chief Executive Marvin R

Ellison said in prepared remarks on Wednesday. "Our strategic reassessment is ongoing as we evaluate the productivity of our real-estate portfolio and non-retail business investments

".Mr. Ellison said Lowe's would provide an update to changes to the strategy at the company's analyst and investor conference set for December

Also on Wednesday, Lowe's announced it has appointed CVS Chief Financial Officer David Denton as its new finance chief

That move follows the recruitment of Mr. Ellison, who was most recently with J.C

Penney Co. and led Home Depot for a dozen years, in May. Mr. Ellison replaced former CEO Robert Niblock, who announced his retirement shortly after three new directors joined the board as part of an agreement with activist investor D

E. Shaw & Co.D.E. Shaw has pushed the company to better compete with Home Depot Inc

and do more to capitalize on an improving real-estate market. Another activist, William Ackman, the leader of Pershing Square Capital Management LP, has also built a stake in the firm

In May, The Wall Street Journal reported Mr. Ackman's firm built a stake then valued at roughly $1 billion in what is expected to be a friendly investment

Shares in Lowe's fell 1.8% in premarket trading Wednesday as the company lowered its full-year sales outlook despite reporting higher sales and profits in its latest quarter

Lowe's said sales rose 7.1% from a year earlier to $20.9 billion, beating expectations from analysts polled by Thomson Reuters

Comparable sales rose 5.2%, while U.S. home-improvement comparable sales rose 5.3%

Analysts polled by Consensus Metrix were expecting comparable sales to increase by 5%

The company reported net income of $1.5 billion, or $1.86 a share, compared with $1

4 billion, or $1.68 cents a share, a year earlier. The results included a $230 million charge related to the Orchard closure

Excluding certain items, Lowe's said profits rose to $2.07 a share, beating expectations from analysts

By comparison, Home Depot reported last week that sales jumped 8.4% in its latest quarter and its U

S. comparable-store sales rose 8.1%.Lowe's expects sales in fiscal 2018 to rise about 4

5% from the prior year, down from 5% previously. The forecast for comparable sales growth was revised to 3% from 3

5%.The company said its updated guidance includes as much as $475 million in costs related to lease obligations, depreciation and amortization and severance agreements tied to Orchard

Whitney Stories: Gran Fury's Tom Kalin on Hock E Aye VI Edgar Heap of Birds - Duration: 3:23.

I'm Tom Kalin I'm a filmmaker and a member of the AIDS activist collective

Gran Fury and I'm here today discussing the work of Edgar Heap of Birds and his

piece Disappear Me which is part of a series of drawings called American

Policy. I think one thing that's interesting to think about in terms of

American Policy as a name of a series of drawings is it's just so blunt it's

putting on public trial the laws and belief systems that govern a country and

I think that's incredibly powerful and on a personal level I connected it with

the earliest work of Grand Fury is a piece called Let the Record Show where

we attempted to put our public officials on trial for their negligence during the

AIDS crisis and the fact that they caused so many Americans to die. I love

in Edgar Heap of Birds' work he preferred to work this idea of using language to bring into the

white cube of the museum bodies that are generally excluded or not present or not

visible into the museum not just this work but in whole careers worth of work

he's been using words and language as political action and his representation

to invite those who've been excluded. Disappear Me is a cry to be recognized

and to remain it's also a melancholic wish or a fulfillment to something or a

kind of expression of those who have already disappeared.

Edgar Heap of Birds talked a lot about breaking pastels when he drew these

drawings and you can see in the physical mark making the kind of sense of the

mark is a extension of the physical body and the drawing is an extension of the

body. Unlike many language based artists of

this period of time he's using touch he's using the mark he's using the hand

and also drawing as a second-class citizen to painting generally in the art

world and so there's this idea of using a less important form to speak to the

audience. I think Edgar Heap of Birds manages to be very particular an

individual and specific about his own Native American culture about his

Cheyenne culture using often in his work puns and humor so in some of his early

paintings he used Cheyenne words and mistranslated them for a non-Cheyenne

language speaking audience which I find really funny.

People always think of AIDS activism is so serious and the work of Grand Fury

mostly used humor because we understood it was one of the ways to pierce through

something to break through something. Edgar Heap of Birds talked about this

idea of an arrowhead as a kind of metaphor for piercing through something

breaking through something but it also talks about political work as an

irritant as something that makes a chink in a wall and I love the idea that that

chink in the armor is being achieved by somebody with a breakable piece of

pastel in their hand. Sort of fantastic image of how powerful the work is and

also kind of how complicated is to be a single person attacking a power

structure on behalf of a community.

Bolting Bible - Ethics - When and where should we bolt highlines - Duration: 15:03.

So some of the biggest questions surrounding bolting are do you need to

bolt, can you rig all-natural and you wouldn't just put bolts in your friends

backyard would you? Just walk in there without asking drill into his patio? It'd

be an eyesore you could maybe trip over it so why would you ever do that in a

national park I don't know here we go oh yeah safety glasses now let's do this

Hi, I'm Ryan Jenks and welcome to my gear room after a year and a half we're

finally releasing the Bolting Bible videos. I've done a ton of homework and

consulted over twenty highliners who have bolting knowledge to bring you the

best bolting resource available to the highlining community. I want to give

special thanks to my wife Kim Weglin and Zac Timmons for helping me edit the

Bolting Bible and the major contributions that David Kingston and

Martin Roberts from Titan climbing (he makes the titanium bolts) i messaged those

guys at least over a hundred times each and Thank You Travis Warner for

rewriting my entire Rock section because he is a geologist and thank you to the

ten other people that made contributions, corrections or given me feedback on the

Bolting Bible. This is a community-based project and I'm keeping it as an e-book

slash blog so we can always update it if you guys see something that needs adding

or correcting if you want to check out the bolting Bible and follow along while

we do these videos it's on www.slackademics.com/boltingbible it is available

as a PDF on there and also in a blog format so it's easily findable on google

the Bolting bible just started out as a script that I was doing for these videos

because I know Bolton was a hot topic and the highlighting community so I

wanted to make sure it was correct and it's hard to edit a video you have to

delete them and remake them and it's not practical so I want to make sure it was

just right so I sent it off to like ten different highliners who I

knew knew about bolts and it turned into more and more and lots of information

not everybody agreed with everything I think everyone learned something from

other people there was never a central resource for bolting knowledge so after

all this information came in I had to organize it really well because I wanted

it to be as simple as possible for people who don't want to spend endless

hours learning about bolts it's an important topic it's not rocket science

but there are things you do need to know to make sure that you do it right

anyways after spending so many hours on the script I thought well people will

probably want to read the information I have instead of just listening to me the

entire time on a bunch of videos so it ended up slapping on a silly cover and

polishing it up a bit which is an oversimplification of what I did for the

thing and it's now the bolting Bible one of the reasons there is a slackademics.com

is because there is nowhere to put the bolting Bible so we made a website

collecting everyone's information that they have put on the internet to help

people learn about slacklining or highlining and now the Bolting Bible is

on slackademics.com if you want to learn about anything about slacklining it's on

there so why is it called the bolting Bible well there's a lot of people put

an input you're never really gonna know where the information came from and it

was a cute little theme but we threw a lot of sexual innuendos to make it fun

we're trying to keep it entertaining and educational just like we do here on how

not to highline so there are some people who think you need years of

experience and need to be taught in person a lot before you can install your

first bolt now there is an element of truth to that

just like I say don't be an idiot and go rig your first Highline by yourself but

go with someone who knows what they're doing I also believe that about bolting

however there are people in every country now that watch this channel and

not everyone lives next door to a guy with a bolting gun

who knows what they're doing so I want to have the information at least

available to you in case you do have to be self-taught something funny is that

everyone that I sent the bolting script to was self taught

now something I did since I finished the bolting Bible and before I started these

videos was buy every bolt and glue that I recommend in the bolting Bible so I can

literally show you how each one is installed how they look and how they

function so I'm really excited about having all that gear now something that

this video specifically is about is about bolting ethics and one of those

things is to practice at home even if you were taught by someone practice at

home or practice on a rock that doesn't matter before you go out to a place that

everyone will see and install bolts that other people are going to trust their

lives to and also like I end every episode therefore you shouldn't highline

I'm going to say therefore you shouldn't bolt because it is my goal that you

don't bolt anything after watching these videos after I'm done with this bolting

series I will continue to write the New Testament of the bolting Bible which

will be how to rig all-natural most lines do not need bolts so I don't

encourage you to go out and bolt everything just because you know how so

just like we know how abstinence is not a good strategy it's better to teach you

how to safely bolt and hope you don't so now let's go over the ten bolting

commandments these are the ten main things that you should walk away with

after reading the vaulting Bible thou shalt not drill where thou art not

allowed there are some places that you're not allowed to drill so don't

pretty simple thou shalt never place zinc-plated bolts zinc-plated bolts are

not going to last as long as a stainless steel bolt or even a titanium bolt if

that's an option for you so please use something that's going to last longer

than you will thou shalt practice bolting at home

not in nature we've already talked about that number four is thou shalt really

really clean thy hole after drilling especially for a glue in the glue needs to

stick to the rock and not the dust on the side so make sure that your holes

are clean number five is thou shalt never spray

thy bolts try to keep bolting to a minimum while stayin safe

number six is thou shalt test thy glue ins after thy glue cures I have pulled

out to glue ins from other people that didn't cure properly we show you how to

make sure your glue cures since some glues take 24 hours to dry you want to

make sure that it was done right after you leave number 7 is thou shalt only

drill thy holes perpendicular to the rock face you want

to make sure that the holes going straight down and not off to the side

because you don't know how to hold a hammer drill correctly number 8 thou

shalt not bring thy power drill to thy national park or wilderness areas there

are some places you cannot have powered tools so we show you how to hand drill

bolts if necessary and legal number 9 thou shalt never use wedge bolts in soft

or fractured rock wedge bolts are okay in solid rock but not okay in soft rock

and we show you the differences in the bolting Bible end number 10 thou shalt

forever forsake polyester glue in favor of epoxy glue there are different

qualities in glue and we cover that in this video

if in doubt go with epoxy so that is basically the introduction to the Bolting

Bible now we're going to in this video cover the first section which is the

book of Ethics and it starts off with saying thou shalt not penetrate virgin

rock without feeling guilty so Highliners have a unique problem our

bolts are on top of most things and that's where people can see them non

highlining people so we have to consider the visual aspect of it and the

other thing we have to consider is that our bolts generally will have

more force on them than a climbing bolt so they have to be a wee bit more bomber

than just a normal climbing bolt so that brings us to ethics how our bolts affect

other people since highlighting so new there aren't

necessarily bolting laws everywhere but we do have to consider where things

might be legal ish but thrown upon for example United

States national parks aren't too keen on having more bolts added the top of

climbing areas are also not somewhere you might want to add bolts because that

kind of affects the climbing route that's already been established there if

a crag area is an all natural no bolting area then for us to add bolts

might be a problem single-use High Line's the ones that won't be rigged

often should probably be rigged all natural and it might not be a good idea

to install a bunch of bolts where a bunch of tourists can see them at a

lookout point now there aren't a lot of laws regarding our bolting but there are

some so please make sure that you know the rules of an area before you go to it

for example in Yosemite there are no power tools allowed it's good to know

that before you go start drilling there if you do choose to bolt a Highline

area and it's ethically ok to do so thank you for taking your time and money

for making it an option for other people to highline there just please pick the

spot carefully and consider does that spot need bolts or can you use removable

consider the quality of rock and what kind of bolts need to be placed there

can you strategically place those bolts so that minimizes the no fall zone or

minimizes how well they can be seen by non-highliners can you do a mix of

natural anchor and bolts maybe only one side needs bolts and the other side can

easily be rigged all natural if the bolts conflict with a climbing route can

the bolts be placed elsewhere to avoid conflict and confusion and please

consider if there are already a bunch of lines in this area putting bolts ten

feet away from another set of bolts doesn't necessarily constitute a new

line ok now that we talked about the rules and

area let's talk about the number one risk of any bolt failing... YOU. You are the

number one risk of any bolt failing please understand that it is a huge

responsibility to install a bolt that is almost impossible to inspect that other

people will depend their lives on now that I've learned a lot about bolting I

show up to a new area and I see the bolts and think hmm sure hope they knew

what they were doing when those were put in so realize what kind of role that

your playing and respect the responsibility educate yourself and

please please practice so when I first started I practiced a lot but I didn't

practice enough so it was just struggle city when I went out to bolt my first

Highline a great place to practice as at home in your concrete if you are

gonna use a rock please use a rock that not everyone's gonna see now if your

first thought is I don't want ugly bolt holes at my house then you're well on

your way to understand some people's issues with our bolts in nature so go

ahead and spend the money on a tube of glue and see how the stuff mixes how the

shit gets everywhere and to make sure that your caulk gun fits the tube of

glue now if you don't want a glue n bolt in your yard for the next 50 years you

can pull it out before it cures and use some goof-off to clean it out if you are

gonna have to hand drill a bolt I recommend you do one in your yard just

so you can see how much is involved and that you practice keeping it straight

and if you do use mechanical bolts practice using with a torque wrench and

then a normal wrench so if you don't take a torque wrench up the mountain

with you you know how tight to make them so please practice practice practice

so that basically covers bolting ethics but I do want to encourage you to try to

rig all natural if possible it's not rocket science there's no magic behind

it you can use gear like cams nuts tri cams just put in a lot like isolate

three isolate three and another three and then treat those as if there were

three bolts equalizing or bfk or you can wrap boulders or trees with span sets or

ropes you just have to pad it or make them independent of each

other so if something fails the whole system doesn't go you just have to make

sure it's super super redundant it's not that hard but we will make that an

entire section after we cover bolts now keep in mind that if you do install

bolts you could piss people off or if you do it wrong

you could kill someone therefore you shouldn't bolt

hey thanks for watching but don't be an idiot and think you can go install bolts that other people will

depend their lives on after watching a youtube video about it please learn

bolting and highlining from someone in person go check out the bolting Bible on

slackademics.com/boltingbible or go to the churchofslacklife.com it's on

there as well we also have a newsletter on their cool apparel and you can leave

your slack life testimony and get involved kim runs a youtube channel for

the church of slack life we don't have a private jet or a special kool-aid we're

just trying to share the Stoke and thank you to my patreon supporters for

donating it helps support projects like this if you would like to be a patron

please consider donating 1 Stoke dollar per weekly episode not trying to make

money with the channel I just want this little hobby of mine of making videos to

be sustainable so please go to patreon.com and donate 1 stoke dollar per week

Until you get a chance to practice bolting check out our other videos, don't forget to subscribe, like or follow

farm prices and by stabilizing they mean increase farm prices so that farmers who were a very

important voting constituency, uh, would have a steady source of income and they did that

by restricting the supply of farm goods, of farm produce, um, in order to raise the prices

of farm produce.

The case involved a quota on wheat production that was imposed on Roscoe Filburn.

He was allotted a certain amount of what that he could grow and he planted that wheat and

he additionally planted a number of acres of wheat over and above, and he used that

wheat on his own farm, but the record shows that he did sell some of his wheat in interstate

commerce, but he used other parts of his wheat to feed his own produce, which consisted of

dairy cows that produced milk and chicken, which produced eggs.

So, the question is, did Congress have the authority to reach, not the wheat that he

marketed in interstate commerce or sold as wheat, but the wheat that he used on the farm,

even though the wheat that he produced would have had a minuscule effect on interstate

commerce?

The idea that Congress could reach local activity, even activity as trivial as Roscoe Filburn's

growing of wheat, was quite radical and a difficult case for the Court to decide.

It actually held the case over for re-argument to a second term because it was unable to

reach that conclusion the first time it heard the case.

We'd have the memos written by the justices, which shows how anguished they were in extending

Congress' power as far as they did.

Justice Jackson at one point thought the court really ought to be candid and say, you know,

"When it comes to the national economy, we just leave it to Congress."

But that's not what the Court actually ended up holding in Wickard versus Filburn.

The Court held that Congress could reach even Roscoe Filburn's activity, which itself had

a trivial effect on interstate commerce because it establishes what's known as the aggregation

principle and that allows, um, the federal government to reach even activity that has

a minuscule, or trivial, or even nonexistent effect on interstate commerce because when

all that activity is aggregated, all the similar activity is aggregated, then the activity

as a group has a substantial effect on interstate commerce.

And this is what the court said was going to evade the regulatory scheme and it was

necessary under the Necessary and Proper Clause for the Congress to reach that activity.

Now, the reason why the case is sometimes mistaught is because the court doesn't talk

about the necessary and proper clause.

It only talks about the commerce clause, so it's easy to think that it expanded the meaning

of the commerce clause.

But in the Darby case, on which Wickard relies, the court relied on the authority of McCulloch

versus Maryland to justify the substantial effects doctrine that allowed Congress to

reach activity that was not commerce but had a substantial effect on commerce.

Both cases were really dependent on the necessary and proper clause, which says that Congress

shall have the power to make laws that are necessary and proper for executing its powers

that are found elsewhere in the Constitution.

For example, the commerce power.

In a way, you can think of the enumeration of powers in Article I Section 8 and as the

appropriate objects or purposes of laws that are passed by Congress and the necessary and

proper clause makes it clear that Congress has the power to pass laws, to pursue those

objects or purposes.

By allowing Congress to reach activity as trivial as a single farmer's production of

wheat to feed his own livestock, Wickard versus Filburn profoundly expanded the reach of Congress'

power the national economy.

Eastern Carolina BBQ Sauce - Carolina Vinegar Barbecue Sauce Recipe - Duration: 5:27.

what is up everybody this is lyle with no hippie barbecue and a few days

ago I did a video on Eastern Carolina barbecue ribs and in that video I did a

Carolina bbq mop sauce that was a recipe that I got off of amazing ribs calm I'm

going to tell you is when I first saw this recipe online I didn't think it was

going to be as good as it was so I was actually surprised by how good it tasted

on those ribs now I made it according to the specific ingredients that I saw an

amazingribs.com the first time I did that recipe few things I'd like to

change up so what I'm gonna do now is make a few changes in the description

below I am going to leave the original recipe and just tell you a couple of

things that I'm changing to do this East Carolina barbecue sauce so let's

take a look at these east carolina bbq sauce ingredients and get whipping it up like I mentioned earlier

I am gonna have the recipe in the description below but let's go ahead and

get making this so our first ingredient is going to be one and a half cups of

distilled vinegar now the website suggested that you use this they tried

it making this recipe with apple cider vinegar and they didn't like it as much

so we have one and a half cups of vinegar we're gonna be adding 1 teaspoon

of hot sauce the first time I did this I used some Texas Pete I'm not a fan of

those Texas Pete or Louisiana hot sauces so I'm using something this a little

actually well let's just say it's actually I this hot sauce that I'm using

is called multiple personalities it's a habanero hot sauce so we're going to add

roughly a teaspoon of that maybe a little bit more can never go around with

a little heat we're gonna be adding two tablespoons of sugar now this could be

white sugar or brown sugar I'm always gonna prefer the brown sugar and that so

let's go ahead and add that we have one tablespoon of salt this happens to be

kosher salt and two teaspoons of crushed red pepper

now I'm gonna add a little bit more than two teaspoons this here is probably

about five or six teaspoons but I'm just going to go ahead and add about half of

that and then we have our black pepper and this is two teaspoons of black

pepper and really all that you're going to do is mix this up and they're

suggesting that you let this sit refrigerator for a minimum of 12 hours

up to a week I'm gonna go ahead and let this sit probably for about four days

I'm gonna be doing some pork but we're gonna go ahead and add it to that anyway

one thing I did learn from making this last time is that this sauce is doesn't

really look like it's amounting to much right now

but once this has a chance to kind of combine in the refrigerator it like

turns into a really nice-looking sauce so I'm gonna go ahead and pour this into

a mason jar we're just gonna go ahead and let it sit in the refrigerator for

four or five days before we break it out so this has been in my refrigerator for

about a week a couple of days longer than what I had anticipated and it's

developed a nice real red color I mean when you swirl it around it definitely

looks like it has a little bit more depth than what either reason you

started out at so let's go ahead and jar this up I'm going to just pour the

majority of this in a smaller mason jar and we'll go ahead and taste this up

this eastern carolina bbqsauce made up there's a couple of different things you can do you can go

ahead and cook this on some ribs mop them down every now and then or you can

actually add two about this amount maybe a half to three quarters of a stick of

butter if you want something along those lines

I'll probably just keep it thinned out like this I'm probably gonna go ahead

and rock this on maybe some chicken or something like that I'm really not sure

yet but I want to taste this and see if it's any different than when

I just had it I think the last time I made this only had it sitting overnight

so it really didn't have a chance to come together like this let me tell you

this is a lot hotter than the previous version of me so I'm glad I actually

added that additional red peppers if you don't like hot food don't do that and it

just seems like a little bit more Kimberly till balanced it might be a

little bit sweeter than the last one I have anyway

I did this on some ribs like I said that video is gonna be a knife art bug just

so you can take a look at those but I'm becoming a fan of something simple like

this and I can't wait to use this in my next recipe no matter what it is anyway

I want to thank you guys come up my no hippie BBQ I appreciate it

Feel like I'm floating through the air,

The pain I felt is paid for,

All is said and done.

Oh.

I am restricted,

Fixed upon the web,

I- need to kick the habit that my mind is breathing in.

Break out, I've got to see.

(Break out, I've got to see)

Spent all my life holding all of it closely.

I played it innocent,

A feel of discontent,

I'm finally facing it all~

Fearless.

Fearless!

Fearless!

Fearless!

Fearless!

Fearless..

Burnin' the bridge that keeps us,

I'm here and I'm feeling fearless..

Exaggerated, that's what you assume,

The story's over now I must conclude!

I am conflicted,

Watch you where I step still,

Hanging in the balance not the life I want to live.

I want to take it all,

Standing tall.

Fear outweighed the person you are.

This is My 60 - Small Mechanical Keyboards (#15) - Duration: 2:59.

Video: Why Princess Eugenie still can't wear a tiara unlike Kate or Meghan - Duration: 1:22.

Senior members of the British royal family sure do love a tiara, but there are unique and specific rules that royals must abide by when wearing the stunning headpieces

Tiaras should only be worn by brides and married women, this is why Duchesses Kate and Meghan, have already been pictured with one, unlike Princesses Beatrice or Eugenie

Brides will also generally wear a tiara owned by their own family on their big day, and one belonging to their husband's family thereafter

It is thought that Princess Eugenie will wear the York Tiara, which was crafted for her mother Sarah Ferguson in 1986

For all the rules royals are expected to follow when wearing tiaras, see the video below

Bal-Bal, Don't Speak It's Name - Filipino Folklore - Duration: 1:05.

Bal-Bal

They are a type of ghoul.

It has long sharp claws, teeth made for tearing meat off of bones and a good sense of smell

that could put canines to shame.

They use these features of theirs for scavenging corpses and eating them raw.

After they are done eating, they would always leave the trunk of a banana tree in place

of the body to trick people.

A bit like the kawarimi no jutsu from Naruto.

They are known to have a unique power of hypnosis where they would use it to make people sleep

during a funeral while it goes to feed on the dead body.

Because of its diet of corpses, it is known for having really bad breath.

In modern tales of the Bal-Bal, they say it would look like a normal human being.

But as soon as the night is lit by a full moon, it would shape shift into the disfigured

ghoul.

Another story says that, if you say its name, like how I did, it would seek you out and

devour your flesh.

The Untold Truth Of Maddie Ziegler - Duration: 5:46.

Maddie Ziegler is best-known for the reality series Dance Moms and her memorable appearances

in several Sia music videos, but there's a lot more to her than just dance.

In 2017, at age 14, she added best-selling author to her already impressive resume.

According to Yahoo, the Pittsburgh native started dancing when she was just 2 years

old.

She later scored a spot at the Abby Lee Dance Company, whose students, and their ultra-competitive

mothers, became the focus of Lifetime's Dance Moms.

Of course, the road to stardom is never without speed bumps, but this girl refuses to let

her setbacks slow her down.

From the drama surrounding her Dance Moms exit to her plans for world domination, here's

the untold truth of Maddie Ziegler.

"I'm so excited."

"Is she ready?"

"I've been waiting my whole life for this."

She wasn't born a dancer

In her New York Times best-seller memoir, The Maddie Diaries, Ziegler admitted she's

never been a naturally gifted dancer.

"So you're gonna start like this… then you go back…

I'm not really that good at it."

Fans might find that hard to believe, but the teen insists she had to hustle, writing,

"I wasn't very good at [dancing] in the beginning, and I had to work really hard.

It taught me an important lesson: Even if you're not good at something at first, don't

give up.

Someday you will look back and never believe how far you've come."

But Ziegler might never have become a professional dancer at all if not for an unfortunate childhood

injury.

Around the age of 4, she broke her arm just before she was due to start horseback riding

lessons.

She wrote,

"Looking back, I'm really glad that happened, even though at the time I remember being really

upset.

I might have been a horseback rider instead of a dancer!

Things definitely happen for a reason, and I believe in fate."

Even so, Ziegler has her sights set high, telling Teen Vogue,

"I am a very hard critic over myself, and I still think I could be a better dancer,

like I still have so many flaws I could work on."

Not missing Dance Moms

The show might have made her, but Ziegler doesn't exactly miss her time on Dance Moms.

The reality series turned her and the rest of the cast into international celebrities,

but Ziegler's never even watched a full episode.

"Now I just have so much weight off my shoulders, like, aw, I can live my life and do something

without worrying and thinking oh I'm gonna get yelled at if I do this."

She told Seventeen,

"The show was a really stressful time, I just didn't want to deal with all of the drama

anymore.

I'm happy I've moved on.

I get to step out and do my own thing and be myself."

Ziegler did admit that she missed dancing with the girls, but she didn't mention her

former coach, Abby Lee Miller.

In fact, according to Radar Online, Miller's name didn't come up once in Ziegler's book,

either.

And there may be a good reason why.

"Shh, shh…

Abby's gonna hate me…

"Look at me…

"She's gonna hate me.

I've never done this, I've never done this."

Abby Lee Miller's take

As Ziegler's career took off, Abby Lee Miller's was sinking hard.

In 2015, the outspoken coach was indicted on 20 counts of fraud for concealing $755,000

worth of Dance Moms income.

She was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, according to Deadline.

Before turning herself in, Miller did an interview with The View's Jedediah Bila, saying of Ziegler,

"I look at what she has done, and the other jobs and the other opportunities besides Dance

Moms, they all involve dancing.

[…] I don't think, had she not been at my studio, she would be where she is today.

[…] I'm not gonna say that I 'made' anybody […] but I certainly added my two cents in."

According to People, Miller was released from prison after 8 months, serving additional

time in a halfway house in Southern California.

Blowing up with Chandelier

Ziegler became a full-blown sensation in 2014, when she starred in the first of several Sia

music videos.

According to Australian news outlets, the eccentric singer tweeted Ziegler, asking to

collaborate, and Ziegler agreed.

"Chandelier" has been viewed more than a staggering 1.8 billion times on YouTube.

Ziegler told Mamamia,

"Once I did 'Chandelier', everything changed for me.

I had already done Dance Moms […] But after the Sia video came out things just became

crazy.

I mean, there were some big celebrities that all of a sudden knew my name."

"I'm like wow at 11 years old I had like over a million views on a video."

"Billion."

"Yeah."

Unfortunately, Ziegler's next collaboration with Sia didn't go down quite as well.

She performed a routine with Shia LaBeouf in the video for "Elastic Heart," which Sia

anticipated might lead to controversy, given the content.

"Shia and I have been just living in the cage for like a year, and I'm the strong one, and

I'm trying to pretty much kill him."

Sia tweeted: "I apologize to those who feel triggered by 'Elastic Heart,' my intention

was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody."

She's a YouTube star

"You are a very great dancer and I look up to you."

"What?"

YouTube users have watched her billions of times in music videos, but Ziegler's own channel

is also pretty successful, with more than 2.8 million subscribers.

She told Seventeen,

"I film and edit all of my videos myself.

It's more personal that way.

It's a lot of work, but it's important to me because I want to put out cool content."

She's become particularly well-known for her beauty vlogs, specializing in makeup tips

and tutorials.

She told Billboard,

"I was super into makeup at such a young age.

So, that's why I really wanted to make a YouTube channel so that I could show people, of course,

Forgotten Realms Lore - The Dalelands and the DR Calendar - Duration: 5:08.

Hello everybody Jorphdan here the PH is silent.

Today we're covering information on the Dalelands.

It has a rich history and in its history is the Dale Reckoning which is where we get the

DR calendar from. A question I've been asked many times is where does DR come from.

Hopefully this will clear things up.

Located west of the Sea of Fallen Stars the Dalelands is a region in northern Faerun full

of dense forests and after they were cleared rich farmland.

The Dalelands are interesting because there isn't one central government for this region.

Instead it's a loose grouping of villages or cities called the "dales."

And they are located around the Cormanthor forest.

These "dales" are not necessarily friendly with one another but war is pretty much off

the table.

Each Dale is its own independent territory with its own military, industry, and culture.

They are mostly a small group of farming communities scattered throughout an Elven Court.

Way back in time, at around 0DR…

Humans began to settle the regions surrounding the ancient forest of Cormanthor.

These "Dalesmen" immigrated from older cities to start a new life for themselves.

They asked the Lords of the Elven Court permission to settle on the borderlands of the forest.

The elves said yes, in return for help from the Dalesmen.

They wished their aid in pushing back attacking orcs and goblins that encroached upon their

kingdom.

Since the Dalesmen will be sharing this area together they agreed and a partnership was

born.

To commemorate this the Standing Stone was raised in the heart of the Elven Forest.

This event was known as the Dalereckoning, and is the beginning of the most commonly

used calendar in Faerun.

The Standing Stone is a glossy gray rock with elven runes that wind around it.

It stands over 20 feet high.

The winding script states the terms of the pact with the Dalesmen.

It reads that while there are elves in the forest the people of the Dales may settle

in those lands at their borders, but not reduce the woods or invade elven territories.

It was a pretty smart compromise between the two races and ended up protecting them for

many years from Orc tribes.

Farming and trade are important to the people of the Dales.

They firmly believe that industriousness and virtue will overcome foreign schemes and exotic

magic.

Their lands will remain theirs and will remain strong.

So far this has worked out, with the help of the Dalesmen banding together against larger

threats such as Orcs and Drow.

Mentioned earlier the Dales are a group of small towns and villages that don't have

a unified government to be considered a kingdom.

However representatives once a year in Midwinter gather together to discuss issues that relate

to the Dalelands.

These mostly focus on trade, but end with inter-border disputes.

The debates often lead to no conclusion but an understanding is met between the villages.

If there is a common foe the villages will work together more quickly and strive to protect

all the people in the Dalelands.

News of Zhentarim schemes or organized goblins is all it takes for the people of the Dalelands

to come together for a greater purpose.

Over the years several people have tried to unify the Dalelands, some have come close.

Aencar Burlisk is the only man who ever succeeded, for a time.

In 1030 DR Aencar became the Warlord of Battledale.

Orc tribes were encroaching on the Dalelands and in 1038 DR Aencar united the Dales to

face the common threat.

He was known as the Mantled King, and his reign involved constant battles to drive out

invaders.

In 1044 DR he was finally killed by a sorcerer's minions.

Without his leadership the Dalelands drifted apart into their separate villages once more.

Aencar sadly didn't die a heroic death in battle.

He was trapped and tricked into coming to a feast in Essembra when a group of evil mages

summoned a dracolich and slayed him.

However justice was served when one of Aencar's lieutenants defeated the dracolich.

A statue of Aencar exists today in the center of Essembra.

The Dalelands are neighbored by the kingdom of Comyr to the Southwest, Sembia to the South

and the forest of Cormanthor to the northeast.

The vast Anauroch desert is to the northwest.

A lot of locations within the Dales are something-dale.

So Daggerdale, Shadowdale, Harrowdale.

But then there's also Essembra and Myth Drannor.

Shadowdale is home to Elminster, and home to two of the Seven Sisters; Storm Silverhand

and Sylune.

Originally Shadowdale was known as the Land Under Shadow and was controlled by the drow.

They maintained a population of humans and other races on the surface as slaves.

Now Shadowdale is a farming community.

It is the most legendary of the Dales, and the most open towards strangers.

The Elven Court was home to the royal family of Cormanthor and where most of what elven

government consisted.

The elves lived in peace with the Dalesmen for many years, living in the forest.

Nearby Cormyr would like to incorporate the Dalelands within its borders.

They've begun a campaign to not take the Dalelands by force but to bring them into

the fold piece by piece.

They use persuasion to convince the Dalelands that joining them would be within their best

interest.

Sembia has a different approach.

While Cormyr's attitude is "The Dales would be better off with us," the Sembian

feeling is "We'd be better off if we controlled the Dales."

They want to master the woods and take it for themselves.

That area being greatly desired by Sembian merchants who wish to get a grasp on the local

economy to manipulate it in their favor.

And that's it for today.

There is a lot of other battles that happened in this area.

I'd recommend my Myth Drannor video for more information on that subject.

Lots of potential for you to be from the Dalelands either as a human, elf, drow or orc.

Thanks for watching everyone and I'll see you next week with another video here on Forgotten

Realms Explained.

Surprising Gaming Hits Everyone Thought Would Flop - Duration: 7:54.

In the topsy-turvy world of video games, nothing is for certain.

A major name in the title doesn't always translate to sales success, just look at Superman 64.

And even the most trusted brands in the industry deliver the occasional clunker, we can all

agree that the Virtual Boy was a mass hallucination, right?

"Virtual boy, a 3D game for a 3D world.

Wanna play?"

On the flip side, sometimes the biggest hits come out of nowhere.

And, sometimes, an anticipated flop turns out to be gaming's next big thing, janky graphics,

last-gen gameplay and all.

Final Fantasy XIV

Unlike the other games on this list, Final Fantasy XIV wasn't expected to flop, it did

flop.

Big time.

When Square Enix released the second Final Fantasy MMORPG in 2010, it wasn't just a bad

game; it was an unmitigated disaster.

For instance, only 20 players could appear on screen.

Servers crashed all the time.

The user interface was an indecipherable mess, the quests weren't fun or interesting, and

nobody, not critics, not fans, and not even the developers, really liked it.

After a couple of months, Square Enix realized that the only way to salvage the game was

to throw everything out and start from scratch.

And that's exactly what Square Enix did.

The company brought in Naoki Yoshida, a die-hard MMORPG fan, to right the ship.

Yoshida completely restructured the Final Fantasy XIV team and slowly brought the game

closer to other MMORPGs.

The result, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, isn't as unique as what came before.

On the other hand, it's actually playable.

We'll take it.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn relaunched in 2013.

It did much, much better.

Critics showered the game with praise, especially its well-told and compelling storyline, which

is just as good as the ones in Final Fantasy's single-player installments.

By 2016, Final Fantasy XIV had over six million players.

It's gotten a few massive expansion packs.

It is, by almost every metric, an unqualified success.

Fortnite

Remember when Fortnite was a simple multiplayer survival game and not the biggest thing on

the planet?

No?

Well, allow us to refresh your memory.

For years, it seemed like Fortnite wasn't even going to come out.

Epic announced Fortnite way back at SpikeTV's Video Game Awards in 2011.

Then, it more or less vanished.

When members of the press finally got their hands on the game — which Epic originally

described as "Minecraft meets Left 4 Dead" — first impressions weren't exactly stellar.

A 2015 preview from Ars Technica called Fortnite "a big mishmash of genres that doesn't quite

gel into a satisfying whole."

And when an early access version of Fortnite arrived in 2017, things didn't look much brighter.

Polygon admired the amount of work that Epic had put into making Fortnite better, but admitted

that they still weren't having any fun playing it.

"It was just whatever we could piece together really super fast, and then get out there.

It was a mess at first."

And then, Epic added the free-to-play battle royale mode, and everything changed.

In fall 2017, Fortnite started riding the momentum of PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds.

Epic hasn't looked back since.

In March 2018, Fortnite made Epic $25 million from its invite-only mobile iOS edition alone.

Over three million people can be found playing Fortnite at any given time.

Having fun now, Polygon?

Epic sure is — all the way to the bank.

Until Dawn

Initially, interactive horror flick Until Dawn was supposed to be the answer to the

question: Why doesn't the PS Move support a single good game?

Y'see, players were originally supposed to use the Move to control an in-game flashlight

while exploring an abandoned cabin and making choices that affected the game's outcome.

It was an interesting idea, but the problems were twofold:

Not only were motion controls on their way out by 2012, but Until Dawn's first trailer

looks low-tech, and it's dripping with cheese, even after developer Supermassive Games brought

in Hollywood talent and dropped the Move-based gameplay.

Nobody expected much.

"Yo, explorers, you guys are gonna need the keys for the looove shack."

Welp, turns out everyone was wrong.

Until Dawn sold significantly better than expected, launching an entire franchise.

It's got both a VR-based FPS spin-off, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and a prequel called

The Inpatient.

It's campy and cliché, sure — but that's half the fun of it!

Forget the jump scares: the fact that Until Dawn is actually great might be the game's

biggest surprise of all.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

When Ubisoft revealed Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, the internet wasn't exactly kind.

"That's the most horrible thing I've ever heard."

Mario + Rabbids was, for all intents and purposes, the very last game that anyone expected to

see.

Not only is Nintendo notoriously protective of its characters, but Ubisoft's mischievous

and hyperactive mascots tend to be incredibly divisive.

You either love 'em or you really, really don't.

At first, nothing about Mario + Rabbids made sense.

Why was a selfie-obsessed Rabbid cosplaying as Princess Peach?

Why was Mario packing heat?

Naturally, the online reaction to the game was swift and furious.

And yet, somehow, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle succeeded.

Instead of annoying players, the Rabbids were praised for providing new takes on Nintendo's

classic characters.

The grid-based battles were well executed, rivaling those of real-time strategy game

X-COM.

Mario + Rabbids went on to become the best-selling Switch game made outside of Nintendo, and

for good reason: its wacky as hell, but at the end of the day, it just worked.

DOOM

No, we're not talking about the original DOOM.

Id Software's 1993 PC game was super anticipated from the very beginning.

In fact, people were so excited that when the game first released as a shareware title,

id's servers couldn't handle all of the traffic.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem like id's planned soft reboot of the franchise was going to

live up to DOOM's legacy.

2016's DOOM started production in 2008 as "DOOM 4," a heavily militarized take on the

franchise that fans later nicknamed "Call of Doom."

Three years later, id threw everything out, effectively rebooting their game and starting

from scratch.

"As a concept, I could see why they went there because I would probably want to explore that

too, if it wasn't a DOOM game."

It took another five years for DOOM to hit the market and along the way, it failed to

impress.

The game's trailers were full of cheesy machismo.

The multiplayer demo was a disaster, leading to a flood of negative Steam reviews.

And critics didn't get review copies in advance, which is usually a bad, bad sign.

Well, surprise!

DOOM is good.

Really, really good.

Not only did DOOM successfully recapture the original's charm, with fast-paced combat that's

designed to keep you on your toes, but it sold well and landed a number of Game of the

Year awards, too.

It wasn't a sure thing, but DOOM is back and better, and bloodier, than ever.

"You know they're demons, I know they're demons.

We both want to shoot them in the face."

Pokémon

You know Pokémon, right?

The franchise that's sold over 300 million video games?

The one that's sparked 20 years worth of TV series and films, and moved 23.6 billion trading

cards?

Well, here's a secret: Nintendo originally thought the idea was hot garbage.

As creator Satoshi Tajiri tells the story, he originally came up with Pokémon after

learning about the Game Boy's link cable, which allowed users to play across consoles

in the pre-wireless days.

Tajiri thought that collecting and trading creatures would be a fun way to bring players

together, and he pitched the game to Nintendo's higher-ups as early as 1990.

Nintendo didn't get it.

But legendary video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto took an interest in the game, and

helped Tajiri and Game Freak develop the first two titles, Pokémon Red and Green, over the

next few years.

In 1996, when Pokémon finally came out, the Game Boy was on the decline, and Nintendo

barely marketed the game thanks to its low expectations.

In Japan, Pokémon wasn't an immediate hit, but word of mouth quickly spread.

By the time Pokémon made its way west, it was already a success.

It only got bigger.

Now, Pokémon is one of Nintendo's most reliable and best-loved franchises.

That's not bad for a "flop."

Not bad at all.

Not Going To-Morning Conversations with Jim Self and Roxane Burnett - Duration: 9:28.

Good morning. Good morning. Jim more and more we're getting a certain type of

email from people and this one in particular struck me and I thought this

would be a good Morning Conversation topic. And what this man was saying was

that more and more as he's watching the world around him he's getting sucked

into the dramas the noise the problems the what he's watching. And and he's a

new person and so he doesn't have all the MA tools yet and so he's wanting to

know what is dynamic what's going on because he said it's almost like he

leaves his body. And and he wants to know what the dynamic is and how to stop

doing that so. Yeah that doesn't just apply to a new person that really

applies to all of us when we observe something that is not in alignment with

well-being or how we see think the world should be. So the real question is how do

I not get sucked in to? How do I not go to? So you know let's go back to the basic

tools I mean the basic tool the Rose. So this is me and that's the Shakespeare's

theater for my entertainment but sometimes viewing it as entertainment

gets lost in translation. So the real piece of this is as all of

these pieces of Mastering Alchemy come together the words come together the

alignment with the words the building the platform the staying on your side of

the Rose the observing from the center of your head. All of that begins to work as

a -unit -unit of singular function. The key piece though that's so hard for

everybody including me and you we get sucked into this every once a while is

you watch all this man inhumanity to man and woman in the process. And the first

thing that's hard but the real answer is this is a transition from

a 3D world to well-being and you can't take your baggage with you. And

everybody's in a state of transition. A lot of people are arguing for their

status quo and they're arguing for their sense of how they've developed

themselves based on their own internal fears. The fears being I have to be in

control I have to dominate I have to step on other people. So it really comes

down to those tools that you being to use. Well the dynamic though of going to is you're in the center of your head having

a fine day and you see this thing happening over there and so you're you

move your attention point all through the noise and drama of 3D and you put

your attention point over at that thing. Yeah instantaneously. And so therefore you're

not in the center of your head anymore and well and once you decide okay come

back you have to move all the way through that noise again and so in the

first part what you saw as a blue circle by the time you go out and back it's now

a green square. Yeah. So so not only are you leaving your space you're returning

with something that's inaccurate. Yeah so you you when you go when you go to that

over there instead of staying in your head the center of your head is observing that over

there what you do what you're saying is you move through all the noise all the

variations of noise and then all the way back you bring back variations of the

noise. So even if what you were seeing the first time you saw it was a truth by

the time you go there and you bring it back it's been massaged. It's been

transitioned it's simply not the same story that you were looking at so that

bodes well for you know right at the beginning of what we teach so much is

stay in the center of your head and observe the wall but don't go to the

wall. And at the beginning people think well

what are you talking about but once you begin to realize that you don't have to

move that one piece begins to be launching a whole arrangement of how you

manage yourself. Well just just being able to recognize when you're in the

center of your head versus when you're not is huge. It's huge. And if you can discern

how does it feel when I'm in the center of my head how does it feel when I'm not

100 percent of the time you're going to enjoy being in the center of your head

more. So for so identifying that spot and then and then recognizing the

distinction between there and not there is is a huge find. And it will help you

stay in -yeah -in the center of your head. So this is really a big a big deal it's it's that's why it's one

the very first tool should teach and a little exercise you can do if you don't

understand what we're talking about is just right where you're sitting see the

other side of the room and then go over to the other side of the room. It's like

we do that all times like oh yeah look at that there you go. See if you can

notice that sensation of going there and then be in the center of your head and

from here just look through your eyes at that. And then close your eyes and turn

your head slightly and then open your eyes staying in the center of your head

and see what's ever over there. And just play with this 8 10 15 times type of

thing and get a sense of the difference between moving leaving and staying. A

trick that I found at the very beginning when we were doing this is if

I would close my eyes get into the center of my head and create a little

place a little chair a little environment in there and then see my

eyes as if their windows and then when I open my eyes it's like I'm still sitting

in my -chair -chair but I'm and I'm looking through the windows

that thing. Yeah now this this may seem like pretty insignificant in a way. It's big. It is

huge because when you're constantly leaving going to the other part of it is

you leave yourself over there. And so at the end of the day you're exhausted in

terms of leaving part of you everywhere and it's not only that you leave part of

you over there for today you leave part of you over there always. It's always in

that past time-space. So the going to simpleness is really very valuable. Where

it's very valuable is when you begin to see some of these disturbing events you

have a moment to choose. Do I put my finger in that light socket and argue

with it and get all revved up about it or do I recognize it as an inequality

that is not okay but I'm not going over there and getting wound up in that

energy and then bringing it all back and then running it through my body. And so

it's a simple technique but it is a potent technique. Well even yes going over there

getting it all over you bringing it back doesn't feel good to you but if you go

to something you're not there so you're not going to be as effective in that

situation because you're not fully there. Right right so -does that make sense -but what happens is

it's as if you're over there touching it and that's irritation happens in the

body. When you come back you just don't necessarily remember all the pieces to

it so there's distortion in that space. But this this space of beginning to

manage you is really a very key part of not going to. How do you basically begin

to be grounded center your head on your side of the Rose? Because the world is

about to change again and in this change there's going to be more disruption more

things to really get amplified about it's all part of the shift it's

that nobody promised a comfortable shift. But it can be considerably more

comfortable if you can begin to navigate it from places like in the center of

your head. So not going to is a learned skill. And it's very doable. And it's very

valuable. So go out and be in the center your head. Enjoy.

How Much Water is Used at Walt Disney World? - Duration: 5:42.

Between the water fountains, the regular fountains, the pools, the water rides and well, that

[No privacy at all around this place!] it's no surprise that Disney World goes through

a lot of water on any given day.

But just how much water is used at Walt Disney World?

To cut straight to the chase, a lot.

According to the Reedy Creek Improvement District's 2017 Utilities Report, the district used nearly

six billion gallons of water that year.

That averages out to around 16.1 million gallons every single day.

So how do we know this and what does this figure account for?

Well if you've watched my past videos on how much waste is generated at Disney and

how much electricity is used, you can probably skip ahead a little bit, because the story

is essentially the same.

The reason we know this figure is because of the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Back in the 1960s when Disney World was still just an idea, it was intended to be a lot

more than just a vacation destination.

Walt had plans for EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

It was going to be a real inhabited city that would remain on the cutting edge of progress,

to serve as an example of what other cities around the world could achieve themselves.

In order to do that, Disney needed the autonomy that would allow them to pursue brand new

and experimental methods of construction and governance that traditional red tape would

otherwise hold back.

That's where the Reedy Creek Improvement District came in.

I have another video all about the District that goes into more depth, but the short version

is that the district was formed to fit the land that Disney owned so that they would

effectively have control over the jurisdiction.

In other words while Disney technically doesn't own the Reedy Creek Improvement District,

it is essentially controlled by them and represents their Florida land.

So these utility figures encompass all of their land, and not much else.

That means that this 5.9 billion gallons covers a lot.

Everything from the tap water to the fountains and pools to water rides to toilet water and

sprinkler systems.

Even the water used in all of the behind-the-scenes buildings across the entire property is accounted for.

Pumping that much water is no easy task.

Reedy Creek is permitted to draw from 8 water wells that tap into the upper Floridan Aquifer,

and they use four water pumping stations that have a collective capacity of 59 million gallons

per day which then distributes the water through over 70 miles of pipe.

On top of that they have five above ground water storage tanks that, together, can hold

over 7 million gallons of water.

This is their backup water that they'll tap into for the few times where the demand

surpasses the water pump capacity.

This, as you might expect, is more likely to happen during the hotter summer months.

For instance last June they were averaging around 20 million gallons a day rather than

the annual average of 16 million gallons per day.

Now about that number.

16.1 million gallons of water a day.

What does that look like?

Just how much water is that?

Well, since apparently everybody likes to use olympic sized swimming pools as a unit

of measurement, that amounts to 24 and a half olympic sized swimming pools.

To use a more relevant comparison, and to also highlight just how massive these tanks

are, the daily water usage at Walt Disney World would fill up the salt water tanks at

the Seas in Epcot 2.8 times.

Lastly, to use a completely ridiculous comparison, if you were to take all of that water and

put them in your standard bottle of water, it would fill 122.6 million bottles.

At Disney prices that many water bottles would cost you nearly 370 million dollars.

So what happens to all of this water?

Beyond what people drink, where does it go?

Well Reedy Creek also happens to have a pretty powerful wastewater system that cleans and

prepares water for reuse.

While the district used 5.9 billion gallons last year, the wastewater system processed

4.8 billion gallons.

The district uses over 60 miles of sewer to collect wastewater that then gets treated

at their plant which is capable of treating up to 20 million gallons per day.

In fact the system is so efficient that as of last year it has also been helping to treat

wastewater from western Orange County while the county is building a new facility for themselves.

Now that treated water becomes non-potable reclaimed water, which means it's not meant

for drinking.

While the water itself tests above the health standards of drinking water, it's still

classed as non-potable since it carries a slightly higher risk of transmitting disease

from that whole "waste" part of "wastewater".

So essentially Disney will reuse as much as it can for purposes that don't involve human consumption.

For instance most of it is used for irrigating lawns, cleaning vehicles, street cleaning,

fire suppression systems and, well, toilets.

Like all of the other utilities on Walt Disney World property, Reedy Creek doesn't mess

around when it comes to water.

They know that while it may seem like just a vacation destination to us, it takes a city's worth of

effort, planning, and most importantly people, to make it all work.

Butterick 6094 Stitch-by-Stitch | Whitney Sews - Duration: 12:17.

Hi everyone!

I'm Whitney and I post tutorials here on my channel to help sewers of all skill levels

learn new projects and techniques.

This week I'll be showing step by step how to make Butterick 6094.

This is a patterns by Gertie design and I'll be making view B. I already made a mock up

of the dress to make sure the fit was good and that I understood all of the pattern's

instructions.

You can find the mockup vlog linked down below in the description box.

Now let's get into the tutorial.

I started by making a list of what pattern piece needs to be cut from each fabric since

I am adding a contrasting section to my dress to break up the graphic print and avoid having

to match up too many vertical stripes.

Ok, let's get sewing.

Use a washable marking pen to connect the dart markings on the bodice front piece.

Fold right sides together so the dart markings match up.

Add a couple of pins and sew right along the marked line.

Repeat for both front darts, then trim the seam allowance and press toward the center.

Line the bodice back pieces up with the front and attach with a 5/8 inch seam allowance.

This is the seam allowance that will be used for the entire project.

Sew a stay stitch along the bottom edge – this is just a row of stitching inside the seam

allowance that keeps your fabric from stretching or warping as you're working with it.

Also reinforce the indented corners of the back and clip to the stitching line.

Place the midriff front and back pieces right sides together lining up the side edges.

Sew to attach the three together.

Line the midriff piece up with the bottom edge of the bodice right sides together.

Match up the seams and notches and clip the two layers together.

Then sew.

Sew the darts on the lining and stitch the front to the backs and stay stitch along the

bottom edge the same as with the outer.

Now grab the facing pieces and sew the back facing pieces to the front along the sides.

At this point I am going to stray from the pattern directions a little.

I wanted to try some new finishing techniques and will be using bias binding on all the

raw edges.

So the pattern says to turn the lower edge of the facing in toward the wrong side.

But instead I trimmed off the 5/8 inch and sewed bias tape all along the cut lower edge.

Then matching the lining and facing up along the edges so the pretty sides of both are

facing up.

Clip together and sew along the sides and top inside the seam allowance and along the

bottom edge of the facing.

Sew the three midriff pieces together the same as the outer.

If you're following the directions turn the bottom edge up, but I trimmed mine off and

added the bias binding to the raw edge.

Press the shoulder edges of the lining toward the wrong side and trim to 3/8 inch.

Sew the midriff section to the bodice lining.

You should have a bodice lining that looks like this, and the outer bodice that looks

like this.

Lay the two bodice pieces right sides together lining up all the edges.

Clip them in place.

BTW I have an Amazon link below where you can find the craft clips I'm using and some

of my other favorite sewing supplies.

Then sew the two together along the back edges from the notch to the shoulder, around the

arm openings, and the neckline.

Leave the shoulders and everything below the notches in the back open.

At this point I missed one word in the instructions.

It said Trim, meaning to trim the seam allowance down before moving to the next step.

Since I missed this step my dress doesn't look as nice and smooth around the neck and

arm openings as it should.

So please learn from my mistake and trim the seam allowances here.

Then understitch the neck and arm openings.

This means to carefully sew the lining to the seam allowance to hold the lining and

seam allowance in place and help everything like nice from the outside without visible

stitching.

Turn the bodice right sides out and press.

Line up the shoulder edges and sew across, only stitching through the outer fabrics and

keeping the facings free.

Tuck the seam allowances between the layers at the shoulder and slipstitch the folded

edges together.

It will then be nicely finished inside and outside at the shoulders.

Now it's time to move onto the skirt part of the dress.

I used a ruler to connect the dark markings and folded so the drawn lines matched up.

Add a few pins then sew directly along the marked lines.

Press the darts toward the center.

I also went ahead and added bias binding to all the side edges of the skirt pieces.

Lay the skirt front and back pieces right sides together lining up the edges.

Sew up both sides.

Then line up the bodice outer layer with the skirt matching up the seams and edges.

Make sure to keep the lining out of the way.

Clip them together and sew.

With the lining still flipped up add an invisible zipper to the back opening.

I'm still really new to invisible zippers and ended up having to sew mine in twice before

it looked ok, so you'll want to find a separate tutorial if you need help with yours.

Then sew the back together from the end of the zipper to the circle marking just above

the slit opening.

Now it's time to flip the bodice lining back down.

Turn it in along the edges of the zipper so the raw edges are tucked between the layers

and use a slip stitch to sew it in place.

Also hand sew the bottom edge of the bodice lining to the seam allowance to hold it in

place.

I made sure my stitches just barely caught the edge of the seam allowance of the outer

layer so none of the stitches show on the outside.

My dress was exactly the length I wanted at this point, so I used a piece of wide bias

tape to hem the bottom.

I sewed the tape to the edge right along the fold line.

Then flipped it to the inside, pressed, and hand sewed it in place with a cross stitch

only taking a very small stitch each time so the stitches aren't noticeable from the

outside.

Flip back the edges of the slit and hand sew them in place as well.

Lastly try on the dress and make sure the back facing is flipping over nicely.

Pin where the buttons need to be placed and sew them on.

Trust me on trying the dress on and pinning the facing before sewing the buttons on...I

didn't do it the first time and it didn't lay right so I had to redo them.

I absolutely love how my dress turned out, even though the zipper isn't perfect and I

missed trimming the seam allowances at the neck and arm openings.

I'm planning on having a vintage style photoshoot wearing it soon, so make sure you're following

me on facebook or instagram to see those pics after the shoot.

If you make a dress using this pattern I would love for you to tag me in a pic so I can see

it!

I have more vintage inspired clothing videos coming soon, along with several other sewing

tutorials so subscribe by clicking my picture right down there if you haven't already and

until next time, Happy Sewing!

How to Make Authentic Italian Bruschetta | The Stay At Home Chef - Duration: 3:09.

Today on The Stay At Home Chef I'm showing you how to make

Authentic Italian Bruschetta

You gotta love my Italian pronunciation

In America we just call this "brew-shetta", but in Italy

they call it "brew-sket-ta" and I probably butchered that yet again

To start you'll need a couple of tomatoes

You want to find the best quality tomatoes you can

and then we're going to dice them up

And place the diced tomato into a mixing bowl

Then you'll need about 5 fresh basil leaves

You just want to stack them up and then roll them up tightly

Take a knife and slice

This is called a chiffonade

Then we'll just take all of this basil

and place it all in with your tomato

Next you'll need some good quality Italian extra virgin olive oil

We'll give the tomatoes a little drizzle with about

a tablespoon to a tablespoon and a half

Then you'll need 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano

sprinkle that in

You'll need a generous pinch of salt

and last just a splash of balsamic vinegar

and I'm using my good stuff

Just a splash

and then we'll stir this all together

Let the tomatoes chill in the fridge while you get your bread ready

You'll need some sort of baguette

and you'll want to slice that at a slight angle

about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick

then you'll want to take one whole garlic clove

and trim off the end so you have an exposed side

and you want to just rub each side of each piece of bread

with that garlic to give it a little bit of garlic flavor

I know it may seem a little bit weird, but if you pick up a piece

and smell it, you can even smell that it has a hint of garlic

Then you want to drizzle just a little bit of olive oil

onto each side of each slice of bread

If you don't have a steady hand you can also just

brush the olive oil onto each slice of bread

Next we need to toast our bread

You can either grill it on an outdoor grill

or toast it on the stove in a heavy skillet

Today I'm doing a little combination of both

and using a cast iron grill pan on the stove

You want the pan to be super hot and you'll just toast

all of the bread right here in the pan

Let it toast on the first side for 2 to 3 minutes

then just flip them over

Give it 2 to 3 minutes to toast on the other side

and then we are ready to assemble our bruschetta

Then you just take a spoonful of the cold bruschetta

and slide it onto that hot bread

And that's it!

You have Authentic Naples-style Italian Bruschetta
