Youtube daily report Dec 31 2016

Isn´t there anything better to do in the holidays that just sit down and chill down

with a good classic game.

Is like having a chat with an old friend.

Dungeon Defenders 2 is that game for me.

Just a fantastic free to play tower defense games to just sink some hours in, and currently

going thorough the holiday event.

But that´s not why you are here, you are here because you want to know how to get the

highest performance possible and lowest graphics on this game, or you just want to know how

weird it will look.

All right, let´s have some fun.

This is the settings screen for Dungeon Defenders 2 we are going to start on 720p with all effects

to the lowests or disabled.

Running around town with no action whatsoever I saw between 25 to 32 fps, so let´s get

started with the tweaking, shall we?

We need to go to the install directory of dungeon defenders 2.

For steam this is located at Program Files, Steam, steamapps, common, dungeon defenders

2, dundef2, UDKGame, Config and the file is called UDKEngine.ini

For the most part this file follows the typical unreal engine 3 structure.

If you go to the system settings section you can start by disabling decals as well as different

types of lights and shadows.

As usual do not touch directional light maps, this makes most game surfaces black, disable

post effects like depth of field, bloom, distortion and lens flares.

You can play around with the resolution here if you feel inclined to do so.

However I will warn you that the game has not worked fullscreen with most custom resolutions

I have tried.

Finally we have our old friends the texture groups.

As you may know changing the min and max LOD Sizes allows you to play with the overall

level of detail of the game.

Some special considerations are in order tough, the first is that you should not change the

UI and Font elements in the texture group, otherwise they will break the UI and make

it impossible to play.

Second, you need to change both the system settings texture group and the texture group

at the bottom of the file labeled as Texture Settings Low.

You can change just one and copy it over the other.

The entirety of my configuration file will be linked in the description so you can copy

it from there as well.

Changing the min and maxlod values will progressively degrade details all the way down to 1, which

is the lowest you can go.

If you are interested in seeing how this looks in motion, let me show you.

Hello good people of YouTube, now… if you're looking at the level, you may be wondering

why I'm so overpowerly high-leveled and doing a mission that's way under my level.

But the reality is, well this is one of those levels that changed for Christmas and look,

it's all snowy, it's a beautiful low-end Christmas and the reality is that I wanted

to show you this level even though I may be some- a bit ridiculously overpowered for this.

Besides, isn't Christmas about giving to others?

Isn't there something extremely holiday-sque about, you know, hopping into something where

you won't really gain that much experience in order to help other players?

I think so.

It's also excellent to test the performance as you see, even with some measure of monsters

in there, the drops are still perfectly acceptable.

You may also be noticing that I have muted the game's music- oh I actually leveled

up while doing that- huh… that's unexpected, I never expected to level up during this mission.

You may be also noticing that I sort of have muted the music of the game, just to put on

some music, some Christmas music.

If my calculations are correct, this video will go out just shy of the new year so there's

still some time for, you know, some holiday cheer.

Why not just part-taking and enjoy it?

Oops, these people are in trouble, this guy is fighting alone against everything, I would-

ok, you take care of that, I'm here to support you man, this is all about- holiday it's

all about helping strangers as well so let me help you.

This poor person tried to take care of everything himself.

I mean, even this town, which is supposed to be a mission where the town is attacked

and it's all burning, it's all… wintery.

It's all wintery.

I mean, cause what's more Christmas cheerful that a town burning?

You know, the screaming of people as they're impaled by demons and killed by horrible forces

of the netherworld- I mean, is there anything that could be possibly more christmasy than

that?

Ah yes, the sweet sound of demons and goblins just dying, falling to my sword.

Like there's no tomorrow, so many lives of creatures wasted to just… destruction.

Also, there's way more of them than I thought there would be.

The cries of death of textureless monsters, the beauty of taking down waves and waves of

textureless creatures…

That is all for this video, thank you to all of you in Patreon that help fund this video,

as well as to the very passionate people who requested it.

See you on the next video.

How do we measure the length of a year? - Duration: 1:18.

The 366 days of 2016 have passed,

during which time our planet has circled our sun approximately one time,

and our leap day has gotten our seasons to stay in line.

And just as this video is published my native land of New Zealand, has just celebrated the transition

between one year and the next, so I want to take this opportunity to make a little video

to wish all my subscribers, and any viewers passing by, a Happy New Year.

However, this raises a question, how do we measure the length of a year?

There are several possible options available for making the measurement

of the duration of a year:

Or we could measure the movement of the Earth around the Sun using the stars as a reference

Or we could measure the time between when the Earth is twice is at it's closest approach to the Sun

Or we could measure the time between two equinoxs or solstices

Alternatively we could base it of the phases of the moon!

I'll let you choose what method you think is correct, and I'll tell you a little about it,

make your choice now by clicking the card on the screen…

or one of the links in the description

Do You Belong to an Extraterrestrial Lineage - Duration: 4:11.

Do You Belong to an Extraterrestrial Lineage?.

According to Sitchins interpretation of Mesopotamian iconography and symbolism, outlined

in his 1976 book The 12th Planet and its sequels, there is an undiscovered planet beyond Neptune

that follows a long, elliptical orbit, reaching the inner solar system roughly every 3,600

years.

This planet is called Nibiru (although Jupiter was the planet associated with the god Marduk

in Babylonian cosmology).According to Sitchin, Nibiru (whose name was replaced with MARDUK

in original legends by the Babylonian ruler of the same name in an attempt to co-opt the

creation for himself, leading to some confusion among readers) collided catastrophically with

Tiamat (a goddess in the Babylonian creation myth the Enma Eli), which he considers

to be another planet once located between Mars and Jupiter.

This collision supposedly formed the planet Earth, the asteroid belt, and the comets.

Sitchin states that when struck by one of planet Nibirus moons, Tiamat split in two,

and then on a second pass Nibiru itself struck the broken fragments and one half of Tiamat

became the asteroid belt.

The second half, struck again by one of Nibirus moons, was pushed into a new orbit and became

todays planet Earth.

According to Sitchin, Nibiru (called the twelfth planet because, Sitchin claimed,

the Sumerians gods-given conception of the Solar System counted all eight planets,

plus Pluto, the Sun and the Moon) was the home of a technologically advanced human-like

extraterrestrial race called the Anunnaki in Sumerian myth, who Sitchin states are called

the Nephilim in Genesis.

He wrote that they evolved after Nibiru entered the solar system and first arrived on Earth

probably 450,000 years ago, looking for minerals, especially gold, which they found and mined

in Africa.

Sitchin states that these gods were the rank-and-file workers of the colonial

expedition to Earth from planet Nibiru.

There is a lot of confusion about the origin of the word Nephilim and what it means.

In Hebrew it literally means to fall.

As in fallen angel.

The Bible, the Talmud and the Koran (where they are referred to as Djinn) all speak of

fallen angels.

In the Book of Genesis in the Bible it relates how the Nephilim produced children with humans.

One was even depicted as killing Japheth, Noahs son, and taking his place whereupon

he fathered many children with Japheths unsuspecting wife which eventually populated

much of Northern Europe.

In the following video, journey into the world of Fallen Angels, Satan, Shadow People, Aliens,

Demons, Anunnaki, Archons, Ancient Giants, Ancient Aliens & Genetic Hybrids.

Almost all of what we know about the Nephilim comes from the Holy Bible in Genesis Chapter

6.

If youve studies or looked into the Nephilim at all, or even if you havent, Im sure

youll find the video below refreshingly different than many other videos on the topic.

I certainly did, and Ive seen a ton.

Motivating! How does an Olympic Eventing rider train her horses? + ENGL SUBS | felinehoi - Duration: 12:42.

You can refine the communication every day.

You can clearly see it's a stallion: he smells the mare.

Unbelievable.

Is he checking out the flashing?

Every training has a warming-up.

A 'training' and a cooling down.

I let him walk easy, make sure he follows me where I wanna go. And I feel how his mouth is with my fingers.

I need to make sure he accepts my hand.

I make him bow to the left...

And to the right... Just to keep his focus on me.

Without being hard on him!

Then the trot. I give him one soft cue with my legs.

And then I keep everything still.

He should continue on the same pace: no slowing down or accelerating.

I keep his head down a little, so he warms up the right muscles in his back.

And it's so important to communicate with him: I do that with my fingers to his mouth.

Without pulling! I just make him bow/stretch a little.

A little bit of leg.. I keep it all 'little'.

The art of riding: do as less as possible to get as much reaction as possible.

Otherwise we'll get too tired.

I'm folding forward to make it easier for him.

And now I'm gonna make him tensioning more.

I want him to come to me.

And carry more on the hind legs.

So he gets lighter in my hands.

And he'll carry his head higher as well.

How do I do this?

Good question.

Ride him to my hand with my seat and legs.

You can see he gets shorter.

Communication is so important: he needs to get what I mean.

You see a lot of riders moving so much.

Doing so much.

And then your horse doesn't get what you want anymore.

Itching.

He's sighing.

Okay, so I'm gonna put him to work a little more now.

You can refine the communication every day.

I want the horse to wait for me. He's not allowed to run.

And that's hard to train, because he needs to run during a real cross.

But when jumping like this, he needs to wait for me.

I make him land in the left canter, so the turns (to the left) get easier.

And now I'll make him land in the right canter, and look to the right.

It's very easy to turn right now!

A little harder now.

Then I ask him to come back.

I want him to go very slow now.

Good boy.

A little obstacle here, and turn right.

Very easy, like this...

To the left and then I'm gonna jump the yellow obstacle.

The fascinating thing about riding is that he needs to get me.

I always have a plan during the training. I focus on what I want to achieve.

I'm gonna walk a bit now, but I make him tensioning the right muscles.

Put my right leg back and he's cantering. And now I sit still again.

I won't punch my leg all the time.

Haha, he's enjoying himself.

Very much.

You can see how he likes to work, right?

But it's very important. The level of the sports increases.

I need to work on dressage as well.

The thing is: the farther you'll get, the harder you need to work for a little bit of improvement.

This one has been going internationally twice.

It's a very charismatic horse, as you can see.

He's got good moves, and he's nice to watch.

I ride with the same principles, though this is a very different horse.

You see him check out the pony's.

I keep him long to begin with.

From leg to hand.

It's important to me that the horse jumps the obstacles while being relaxed.

No panic, just relax.

I make him bow as well.

Not too much, but it makes him notice he gets more leg on one side.

Which makes him go aside.

The other side now.. hey hey hey.

You can clearly see it's a stallion now. He smells the mare. Unbelievable.

It's very important during a real cross that I can make him jump small obstacles.

Canter.

Easy.

I'll go back here.

I'm always playing like this.

Back into the arena.

I close him a little, and that's what makes the horse stronger.

It's hard for him, but he's a good boy.

And expand.

Forward and back.

He was supposed to stay cantering, but he was checking out the mare.

Bow him to the left (to another rider). Hoops, I was showing you and almost fell out of the arena.

Around your left leg.

What everybody does: pulling the right rein to pull him over the obstacle.

Leave the right rein and make him bow to the left to get him passed the people.

Bow him to the left, and keep your inside leg on its place.

Yeah, that's hard.

I always want him to directly react on my leg. Action - reaction.

Doesn't have to be much, but I just want to get a reaction.

Otherwise there's nothing you can do.

Keep practising, every day.

Haha, this is how relaxed he is right now.

Harry's special. He needs to believe it's his choice, you can't force this horse.

I still have him thanks to Gert. I had some issues with him.

He ran out of the arena backwards...

I couldn't get him out of the startbox once, and I was like: I'm never riding this horse again.

Then Gert rode him for a while, because I got scared. Harry would just let us fall into the water when he didn't want to work anymore.

But he's my friend now

I've never ever had to think about a horse as much as I had to think about this one.

How to communicate with him? We've been to Tristan Tucker with him.

An Australian trainer.

He's always looking around! He can't see that much with all this fog though, haha.

Always checking out who's walking in the fields...

I think his best times are still ahead of us. He's Dutch champion now.

I think I'm gonna do a lot with Harry the coming years! I've ridden a Badminton last year.

Which is the hardest Military in the world.

I won't even do that with Peter Parker.

But Harry's such an easy jumper, so I have no fear riding him in those competitions.

I'm looking forward to coming May, because then there's a new Badminton.

When you cycle, you wanna compete in the Tour the France...

Tennis players wanna go to Wimbledon...

And Eventing riders wanna go to the Badminton. And that's where Harry brought me.

I start with work on the ground. I talk to him a little during.

I do that on competitions as well.

It's simple: I put his head down, and he's most likely to start chewing the bit.

My other horses don't need this, but Harry does.

Very funny, but it works.

If would've gone riding him right away, his focus wouldn't be on me.

I learned this from Tristan Tucker.

Very interesting, why didn't I come up with this myself?

I do this for 20-25 years now, but when I first got onto him, he was just.. nowhere.

He shut himself off completely.

Now I want his inside hind leg - oh, he knows it too well already. Anyway, when I push a little here...

I wanna have contact with his inside hing leg.

To make him go forward. And I don't push hard!

I do this on competitions as well, to make sure he listens to me and we have contact.

Good boy.

No, forward, not backwards.

And now I do the same thing when I'm on his back.

To make contact with his inside hind leg.

To make him listen to me.

No I can ride him.

And now I warm him up the way I did with the other horses, although I already worked with him for a while already.

Don't stick against my leg.

When he does that, I push him aside. He can't do that.

Canter.

It might be nice to do a higher obstacle with Harry.

Make a nice one out of the little cross.

Make it high!

Oh, that's very high.

You still love me?

He's checking out the flashing.

You see how easy it is for him...

Movie Recommendations Of December 2016 - Duration: 3:55.

So this month I didn't see many movies because I really got into this tv show called Penny

Dreadful.

And if your into the horror slash fantasy genre I think you'll really like it.

It involves things like vampires, frankenstein, witches but it takes a lot of our traditional

fantasy horror and brings it all together into one.

It's very cool.

So if you want to believe in monsters for the course of an hour long episode, definitely

watch Penny Dreadful.

I don't usually watch documentaries but this month I took a chance to see a couple.

One that I really liked was a documentary called Tickled.

In this documentary a journalist investigates what seems to be an international tickling

competition.

But you know, as things go deeper, he figures out it's much more than that.

So very fascinating.

If you want to feel confused, surprised and witness some complex behaviour, definitely

check out Tickled.

Another interesting documentary I saw is The Green Prince.

Which is an autobiography of Mosab Hassan Yousef.

Who is the son of a leader for a Palestinian organisation but later became a spy for the

Israelis.

A movie I got to see this month was Arrival.

So if you like alien movies, I think this is really good because it goes beyond just

fighting off aliens but it goes much deeper than that.

I made a video about this so after the movie you could maybe check it out.

I talk about the design of the alien spacecraft, the sound of the aliens and the visual appearance

of the aliens.

Okay relax, relax, I'm recording.

Yes that was a good one.

Next on the list is a movie called I Am Not A Serial Killer.

It's about a teenager who has predictive traits of being a sociopath.

In town a series of murders begin to take place.

And so he kind of investigates in his own way.

But this is perhaps not your ordinary crime thriller as there is a mystery beyond this

series of killings that are taking place in town.

Last but not least I saw the movie American Honey.

I guess you could call it a road movie, but it's more than that.

What I really liked about it is this unique group of people that it portrays who live

kind of a very different lifestyle.

Interesting to kind of visually meet these characters and see how things work out through

the film.

I thought it was a bit of a deep film too, anyways.

Let me know what you saw this month that you really liked, that I could maybe check out.

The Battle against the Antarctic Creature - Duration: 8:57.

The Battle against the Antarctic Creature.

GENEVA A defecting Russian scientist has surfaced with a mind-bending account of what

REALLY occurred when he and his colleagues went missing for five days in a mysterious

lake 12,366 feet beneath the Antarctic ice.

Dr. Anton Padalka told authorities in Switzerland that the researchers discovered a bizarre

and deadly life form dubbed Organism 46-B a highly intelligent octopus-like creature

that claimed the lives of three of the team members.

But the government of Russian president Vladimir Putin claimed that nothing of scientific

interest was found because the former KGB strongman hopes to weaponize the organism.

The discovery of such unusual life in Lake Vostok was the most important scientific breakthrough

in decades, but we were ordered not to divulge it because of Mr. Putins sinister scheme,

the whistleblowing geologist told the Swiss.

It was in early February 2012 that members of the Russian Antarctic Expedition succeeded

in the drilling through more than two miles of thick ice to Lake Vostok a project

that took more than 30 years. Because the freshwater lake has been sealed off from the

rest of the world for between 15 and 34 million years, scientists had predicted they would

find new species that had evolved far differently than any seen before.

According to our research, the quantity of oxygen there exceeds that on other parts

of our planet by 10 to 20 times. Any life forms that we find are likely to be unique

on Earth, Sergey Bulat, the projects Chief Scientist said on Russian TV as the

geologists were drilling down.

Previously, extremely weird creatures had been found in deep-sea vents off the coast

of Antarctica including hairy-chested yeti crabs that feed on gardens of bacteria they

cultivate on their bodies and carnivorous, seven-armed sea stars that can catch and kill

those crabs.

Just as the eight man team neared the lake all communication with the outside world mysteriously

ceased. As days crept by and the researchers failed to respond to increasing frantic efforts

to reach them by radio, fellow scientists worldwide feared the worst.

No word from the ice for 5 days, Dr. John Priscu, a professor of ecology at Montana

State University and head of a similar Antarctic exploration program grimly told Fox News at

the time. I can only imagine what its like.

Or maybe he couldnt. Dr Padalka claims that during this time, he and his colleagues

were fighting for their lives in the lost world deep beneath the earths surface.

We encountered Organism 46-B on day one as we were conducting a preliminary dive in

our low-temperature wetsuits, he recounts. It disabled our radio, which we later learned

to our alarm, was intentional.

Although the creature has 14 arms instead of the usual eight, it kills in a similar

manner to an ordinary octopus seizing its prey, injecting it with paralyzing saliva

then dismembering it into small pieces with its beak. But Organism 46-B has another trick

up its sleeve.

It is able to paralyze prey at a distance of up to 150 feet by releasing its venom into

the water from an organ similar to its ink sac, explained Dr. Padlaka. Tragically,

my colleague and life-long friend Dr. Vindogradov was killed this way. He tread water wearing

a blissful smile as the organism approached him. We watched helplessly as it used its

arms to tear off his head, then popped his remains its mouth. It was as if it had hypnotized

him telepathically.

The 33-foot-long man-eater also boasts extraordinary camouflage that helped it stalk the researchers.

Many species of octopus can alter their appearance, usually to avoid larger predators,

Dr. Padalka explained. Sacs of colorful pigments called chromatophores allow them

to change colors, and by contracting their muscles they can blend in with the smooth

ocean floor or a craggy coral reef. The well-known mimic octopus can contort its boneless body

to take on the shape of a sea snake or stingray.

But the shape-shifting abilities of Organism 46-B sound almost diabolical.

It shaped itself into the form of a human diver. We thought it was one my colleagues

swimming toward us in scuba gear. By the time the closest scientist realized what it was,

it had grabbed him and torn him to bits.

If an arm of an ordinary octopus is cut off, the severed limb will crawl away sometimes

even seize prey and place it in the mouth of the octopus. Experts say thats because

each arm contains a cluster of neurons essentially its own brain. The arms of Organism 46-B demonstrated

a chilling knack for operating autonomously.

After our sole female researcher chopped off one of the arms with an ax, the severed

limb yanked the weapon out of her hands, recalled the scientist. That night the

arm slithered onto the icy bank where we were sleeping and strangled her.

The experts believe that not only does the octopus regenerate its limbs, the brainy severed

tentacle may be able to form a new octopus.

Octopuses are extraordinarily intelligent, able to negotiate mazes, use tools and even

build structures with Legos. The newly discovered entity is in a class by itself.

From the way it adapted each time we changed our tactics, we became convinced it is at

least as intelligent as an average human, Dr. Padalka revealed. If we were not all

Ph.Ds, I fear it would have in the end outwitted us.

Miraculously, the eggheads were able to capture the creature in a tank. After the five surviving

scientists made their way to the surface, the programs director ordered that the

bore hole be immediately plugged. The geologists expected to be honored internationally for

their amazing find. To their great disappointment, however, the Russian government claimed that

the team had found no life in Lake Vostok and denied that divers had even entered

the water.

Theres nothing much down there, I can assure you, according to a statement by

the chief of the Vostok Research Station, A. M. Yelagin. The director of the Russian

Antarctic Expedition, Valery Lukin, admitted that the plug had been put in place but called

the precaution routine.

U.S. and British experts were puzzled by the announcement.

Its a little bit of an anti-climax, geologist Dr. David L. Meckenroy of the U.K.

said on TV at the time. Its hard to believe we were so wrong about there being

unusual life down there.

Dr. Padalka claims he fled his native country in July after learning to his horror that

the government is planning to put the discovery to military use.

Some species of octopus lay 200,000 eggs, he pointed out. Imagine if they were deposited

in reservoirs and lakes across North America?

The Russian government calls the whistleblowers claims preposterous.

It is laughable. Ho, ho, ho, declared Mikhail Belochkin of the Bureau of Truthful

Information. It sounds like something you might see on one of your science fiction TV

channels. The Cold War is over, my friends. If our scientists made a discovery of such

magnitude, do you seriously doubt

that we would share it with the world?

New Years Day 2017 Google Doodle. Wish you all Happy New Year 2017 - Duration: 2:08.

The Search Engine Google is showing this animated Doodle globally for the new years day 2017.

New Year's Day, also called simply New Year, is observed on January 1, the first day of

the year on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar.

In present day, with most countries now using the Gregorian calendar as their de facto calendar,

New Year's Day is probably the most celebrated public holiday, often observed with fireworks

at the stroke of midnight as the new year starts in each time zone.

Other global New Years' Day traditions include making New Year's resolutions and calling

one's friends and family.

It seems today's Google Doodle is the extension of yesterday's i-e New year Eve day Doodle.

Yesterday the Balloons were waiting for the clock to show 12 o'clock.
