Hello everybody and welcome to the last this week in gaming of 2016

this is the friday gaming news show where we go over all of the things that have happened
in gaming this week
ending with my recommendations of the week for Film, Music and TV

So we'll strart with this weeks biggest story
being not all that game related
Sorry to anyone who is finding this out for this first time here
but Carrie Fisher died on the 27th of December aged 60 after suffering a heart attack on
a flight to LA from London on the 23rd
this is very sad news for just so many people
being the face of one of cinemas most loved and also annoying characters
I'm ignoring you exist Jarjar
Proving just how amazing she was
she wrote her own Obituary stating
"Drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra"
This comes from George Lucas telling her on the set of the first Star Wars movie that
she couldn't wear a bra underneath her costume
Because there is no underwear in space
This is because as you are in space your body will expand
and this will cause your bra to cause you to suffocate
Carrie found this both hilarious and ridiculous
and decided in 2008 to reference it in her Obituary
While I was looking into this and the supposed 2016 Celebrity Death Epidemic
I happened up one particular man who died in November
I didn't hear about it anywhere and finding this now makes me sad
Ron Glass who is most known for his role as Shepherd Brook in our dearly Departed Firefly
Died on the 26th of November aged 71
He looked damn good for his age, I had no idea
I was also reminded of the death of Anton Yelchin most well known for his part as Chekov
in the somewhat recent Star Trek movie reboots
Who died aged 27
He was younger than me
in a car accident on the 19th of June
and of course the one thaqt hit me the most this year being Alan Rickman
One of my favourite actors
He is definitely missed
All of us reminded over the past week or 2 as we not only approach a year since his death
But also watch Die Hard as the classic Christmas Movie it is.
I'm sure i'm not the only one who saw Alan Rickman for the first time as Hanz Gruber.
And now for something a little more upbeat
One of my absolute favourite youtubers
Austin from Shoddycast
Has moved from the Shoddycast channel over to The Game Theorists
I was a little uncertain about this originally
but as Austin was the only reason I went to Shoddycast
And I love The Game Theorists
It seems a great move
Austin's "The Science!" of Video Games series always has my attention, he releases an episode
once a week
where he picks apart aspects of our beloved games
and questions their scientific accuracy
a personal favourite of mine was his Mirror's Edge episode
Where he goes to the extent of working out how much Lactic Acid
was in Faith's system at all points during his rigerous 7+ hour playthrough
the answer along with an insane amount of mathematics
Turns out the answer is a snickers and a bottle of gatorade
In another he worked out how to build a Mini Nuke from Fallout 4
and in all episodes what he finds is
<Austin saying "God Damn Terrifying">
In other news
it turns out the nintendo switch's battery won't be removable
As all of us have no doubtedly experienced in our time on earth
Batteries die
Usually before the phone or laptop they are in does
I see this being a little problematic considering the power will run through the battery at
all times
This makes me think that after a lot of use
you wont be able to take it out of the dock and go portable
This is of course merely speculation
Battery technology has come a very long way even in just the last 5 years, batteries are
far better and this may not happen
but it's a question worth asking.
In gaming deals news
Well
There's amazing frigging deals just about everywhere
Steams sale is insane and had the store locked down for a while after they launched it
it's still on for a few more days so get what you want asap
Amazon along with pretty much every computer hardware supplier I keep track of
has some epic deals on
so now really is the time to get your stuff
Just be sure to watch those pennys
Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima
told the world this week that we should expect more games on mobile this year from Nintendo
Super Mario Run hitting past 50 million downloads while only released on iOS is a very promising
start
with Android users being slightly more numerous it is sure to more than double once released
on android in January
Tatsumi Kimishima proposed a possible 3 more titles just this year aimed for release
So this should be interesting.
Now for the top 5 most anticipated games of 2017
5 Death Stranding
not much is known but it's gonna be huge
it's made by Hideo Kojima and it's gonna be real frigging pretty
This is one game I will probably throw my money at
without knowing all that much about it Hideo Kojima has built a huge amount of trust
with his player base The game will be good...
Aaaand exclusive to Playstation 4
4 In our number 4 slot we have Uncharted 4:
The Lost Legacy Kind of a spin off
not really a sequel but all kinds of badass
Uncharted 4 is likely to be a fantastic game It has no official release date and will be
a Playstation 4 exclusive
3 The Last of US Part 2 is sure to be a huge
release following one of the biggest games on the
Playstation 4 It's release date is no where to be seen and
may not even be in 2017 but being recently announced, hype is apparent
This will of course be a Playstation 4 exclusive
2 For number 2 I think a lot of your will agree
with me at Red Dead Redemption 2 Looking at an end of the year release on Playstation
4, Xbox One and PC
1 And at number 1 we have
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming out of the Wii U and Switch
I assume the release date for the newest installment in the Zelda series will be the same as the
console in March
There are plenty more like Mass Effect Tekken 7
Star Trek Outlast 2
Crackdown 3 For Honor
God of War etc etc
All I need to know is that I need to get used to my Playstation controller
as with half the games being PS4 exclusives I can't ignore it any longer

Our movie recommendation of the week is Star Wars: Episode 4 A New Hope
I know this might seem ridiculous as
Who hasn't seen Star Wars?
Well, I'd wager a lot of the young folk watching may well have not, they are after all very
old movies now
and whether you have or not
Let's take some time to honor our dearly departed
The Album of the week is Anchor Drops by the massively underrated Umphrey's McGee
Forming on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend Indiana in 1997
Umphrey's McGee have been a real slow burner
I recieved their album Anchor Drops along with 2 others from one of the Staff at Red
vs Blue back in 2005
After I believe permission was given to get the word out for their upcoming projects via
these means.
I fell in love with their Jam Band feel
Happily chilling out to the entire album at a time
Feeling better after for the experience.
It's very difficult to describe their type of music past Jamming
But it is definitely worth a listen.
And that brings us to the TV show of the week
This week it is our dearly departed FireFly in honor of Ron Glass
Five hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft
Tries to survive
as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy
and evade warring factions as well as authority agent out to get them
This space western was something new and truly unique
Joss Whedon's style of filming by itself was beautiful
The view in space seeing Serenity was always like that of a focusing security camera
and never was there any sound at all when the camera was spacebound
These and many more little touches and accuracys made so many fall in love with Firefly
Cancelled after a single season due to the Network screwing up the release order
which lead to no one knowing who the characters were until the 3rd episode which should have
been the first
This enraged the cult following aswell as Whedon and the cast who all had a great passion
for the show
This passion led them to be able to film a movie to cap as much off as possible with
the story
and while we Browncoats will always be a little unsatisfied with how things played out
We are all glad we got the 14 episodes and a Movie to binge on every so often

so let's just talk about something that
happened to me a few months ago at
school and yes just make sure to strap
in your seat belts pull out your car
seats because this is going to be a very
wild ride
so basically what happened to me was I
was well I went to talk to practice and
we practiced for think I was like an
hour and a half for something i think
yeah that's how long summer practices
are so I practiced for an hour and a
half and we were just you know practicin
and I mean I had a great time I mean
soccer's my favorite
sports so yeah we just practiced and
yeah so I was just leaving soccer
practice we know with my friends with
one of my friends I forget who it was
and we were just like you know walking
from the field we were walking down we
were walking across the road and we just
see this Porsche just powering through
like powering through the street and I
was like like what the crap and so i
was i was like I was like really
confused and scared at the same time like that
was pretty scary and then like I looked
at the backseat and then there was my
classmate and I was like what like
chances of that happening is like really
low so the fact that i almost got run
over by a classmate's dad is really
weird
now I don't know hehe look you looked
and he didn't look happy I mean he
looked really was a good blank face I
guess we're not paying attention
the road but seriously I don't know guys
I don't know what to say about that
experience like it was so short but I
have so much to talk about it i mean my
friend could have gotten one before I
could've gotten over like that would've
been the end of me like right now i'm
looking back at it and I'm laughing but
at the moment that was so scary i could
have been the end of my life dude

Mysterious 14 mile structure 'buried' in Antarctica found on Google.

Spotted on the Google Earth map, the white blur deep in the barren continent has provoked
speculation it could be a secret research station hidden by a government or a UFO buried
in the ice.
YouTube user Wowforreel has highlighted it in a video and shows how you can find it yourself
on the web app Google Earth.
Describing the visual as a "patchy mass", he says: "Antarctica is crawling with weirdness."
He then points to the giant 14.5 miles by 4.5 miles area of bright white saying: "This
thing is so huge you can't miss it - not even from outer space.
"I've searched the entire continent and I couldn't find anything quite like it.
"I thought maybe there's a peculiar place in the images where there happens to be a
gap, but I don't think that's the case."
He points out brush-type movements over the mass which he says suggests someone is trying
to cover something up.
He ponders if it is a research station before adding: "If this masking was removed would
we seen the deck of a giant UFO mothership buried in ice?"
The video was put online in 2012 but a constant flow of comments continue as intrigued viewers
try to figure out what it is.
One of them, Julie Haines said: "Have you noticed that there seems to be a trail behind
said rectangular shape?
Like its been dragged."
David Darby added: "You're correct, and it's well over 111 miles long to the left."
Bret Hines wrote: "Wow two years and it's still there.
They are covering something up with this thing."
Bonnie, said: "It's a government facility.
They are allowed to request Google blur out things like this.
"It's probably a research facility."
The staggering video of the mysterious structure has been viewed more than two million times
on YouTube.
