Escherichia coli; abbreviated as E. coli, is a bacteria that normally lives in the intestines
of animals and humans.
They are for the most part safe and really are a necessary part of a sound human intestinal
tract.

Shiga toxins that are created by the bacteria are the culprit.
Meat becomes contaminated during slaughter, when infected animal intestines or feces come
in contact with the carcass.
Ground or mechanically tenderized meats are considered riskier than intact cuts of meat
because E. coli bacteria can be mixed throughout the meat in the grinding process or during
tenderization.
Other foods that sometimes become contaminated with E. coli bacteria include unpasteurized
milk and cheese, unpasteurized juices, alfalfa and radish sprouts, lettuce, spinach, and
water.
However, any food is at risk of becoming contaminated with E. coli through cross-contamination.
One can also get E. coli bacteria from contact with feces of infected animals or people.
E. coli indications change as the contamination advances.
Side effects more often than not start two to five days after contamination.
The underlying manifestations incorporate the sudden onset of issues and stomach torment,
trailed by loose bowels inside 24 hours.
Looseness of the bowels will turn out to be progressively watery, and afterward bloody.

I hope you had a Happy New Year.
2017, huh?
It's weird to think that, technically, my YouTube channel has been going for a few years
now, even if there's been a pretty significant lapse in content.
Today, I think it'd be interesting to talk about a game series that has entertained and
sucked so many hours from so many people, including the person speaking right now!
So, with that in mind, it's difficult to talk about it without at least a little hint
of a bias associated.
I love the Half-Life games, and I think it would be interesting to take a chance to look
at it from a more analytical perspective, and see exactly what elements were taken to
heart by a majority of modern first person shooters.
Half-Life pioneered the utilization of a deeper story to accompany the player to serve as
a motivation for all the firefights and gunplay that will inevitably take place as a result
of being a first person shooter.
Instead of the player taking control of a nameless space marine to shoot up aliens,
like Doom and Quake before it, Half-Life puts you in the labcoat of Doctor Gordon Freeman,
a theoretical physicist working for the military-contracted research facility, Black Mesa.
It's the day for an important test investigating a strange otherworldly crystal, and Freeman
is the man designated to put on the hazardous environment suit and push the crystal into
a beam.
And he's late.
This puts the player character in an interesting position.
Instead of the world revolving around the player in an effort to make them feel like
the most important person in the storyline, they're just an ordinary guy, trying to
save his own ass from getting fired.
And when the shit hits the fan, Gordon doesn't have anything separating him from the scientists
and security guards trying to save their own skin.
Except for the ability to quick-save, of course, but that's just a pretty significant plot
hole that they didn't bother to patch up.
Valve, please fix.
Because of this, the game can focus on creating a realistic yet playable set of levels that
link together to create the Black Mesa facility, only enhanced by the details thrown into each
of the locations you visit.
Working your way from the initial site of the incident all the way up to the surface,
before ultimately being thrown right back down, and eventually right to the source of
the alien invasion.
An alternate dimension known as Xen.
While the rest of the game is careful to establish locations that could reasonably exist in real
life, the Xen portions are more or less the moment the game goes full Sci-Fi.
Low gravity platforming is combined with general bullet sponge enemies, leading many to consider
this the most irritating part of the game, but the interesting architecture and ambient
background sounds lead to it feeling right at home with the rest of the game, and personally,
I consider it an accomplishment.
But that's just narrative and level design.
What about the gameplay and technical side of things?
It goes without saying that it helped to have the game engine from Quake to work off of.
Because of this, the game is just as satisfying to play as it is to admire.
However, it doesn't exactly break any new ground in anything other than the more narrative
elements.
Your weapon set contains just enough to fit about any situation you're going to encounter,
but except for a few of the more creative weapons, like the snarks, gluon gun, and tau
cannon, they're about what you would expect out of an first person shooter's arsenal.
Fortunately, most of them are satisfying to use, like the shotgun's punchy recoil, the
submachine gun's devastating grenade alt fire, and the insta-gibbing abilities of both
the gluon gun and tau cannon, and the game is good at making sure few of your weapons
ever become truly useless.
Except for the standard pistol you pick up, as it shares an ammo pool with the submachine
gun, and that weapon can do just about everything the pistol can, you can find a use for everything,
even by the end of the game.
Graphically, the artstyle of the game works well with the limitations of the engine, but
the dull color scheme of the game's opening acts tend to get tedious very quickly.
Fortunately, the atmospheric tension of the initial incident are enough to ensure things
don't get too boring before the designs of the enemies and level design can woo your
attention.
And that's only the base game!
When it was released, all of the modding and creation tools were released alongside it,
providing exactly what the community needed to flourish.
A near endless supply of mods, both single-player and multi-player, with a whole buffet of different
styles of gameplay.
We will talk about the specific mods that I think best highlight the best of the best,
and in a few cases, the worst of the worst, in another video, but for now, I think I've
been able to accurately convey exactly how great this first entry in the series was.
It goes without saying that Half-Life was a thorough success, and despite problems hitting
the release date, and the infamous leaking of the incomplete versions of the game in
its early days, the finished product was released in November 14, 2004.
Next week, we will discuss it.
Until then, I hope I've been able to provide some further insight into why this game was
so popular, and, hey, maybe even have managed to convince you to get it yourself if you
haven't played it before!
