hello !

I had a bokeh test with this my new machine FUJIFILM XT2 today !

so, I'm going to share the test-result first,

and going to talk why I chose XT2 and the lenses later.

as you know, it's a crop-sensor camera.

I got 2 lenses together with the body.

no.1, this is 23mm f1.4 R,

and no.2, it's 56mm f1.2 R.

I used 23mm for today's bokeh test.

Generally speaking, larger sensor makes bigger bokeh.

I'm going to verify it today.

I'm going to use Nikon D750 + Tamron 35mm f1.8.

and, FUJIFILM XT2 + 23mm f1.4.

I compared the result.

as you know or not, my verify test is always very casual,

it's not perfectly accurate.

don't take it so serious, and just look it for your

reference.

the lenses has each different maximum aperture.

Tamron lens is f18, and Fujinon lens is f1.4.

Camera setting is,

ISO 200, Dial A, JPEG.

but I edit the exposure of images from XT2 after shooting.

each distance from the subject to the cameras weren't same because I wanted to shot it in a same size in the frame.

as you saw, full frame sensor bokeh is clearly bigger

than crop sensor.

the winner lens was f1.8.

loser lens is f1.4.

I expected a better result on f1.4, but it wasn't.

I'd been hearing that XT2 image quality is

almost reaching to full frame sensor cameras.

so, I expected a better result on XT2.

but I realized that good image quality doesn't mean bigger bokeh at all.

if you want to have bigger bokeh, just go for full frame sensor camera.

I always wanted to do the bokeh test,

so, now, it's clear.

OK, now, I'm going to talk bout my XT2 shopping.

Why I choose it.

I've been using Nikon D750 for 2 years already,

and, I like it very much.

Nikon D750 is bit smaller size compare to other full frame sensor cameras.

but still, it's big and heavy to carry with me everyday.

I can't put it in my business bag every day to my work.

I wanted to carry high quality camera with me everyday.

then, I thought XT2 might be the one.

I bought Panasonic G7 for my movie filming in the summer of this year.

but the camera wasn't my favorite and I sold it very soon.

one of the reason why I didn't like it was

Color.

Frankly speaking, the color looked cheap.

So, I googled ''Color, Camera''.

I found many results on the internet, and it shows me that FUJIFILM cameras are specilized for color, or

FUJIFILM color is just beautiful. Those kind of results.

Actually, I haven't checked FUJIFILM's cameras so far.

I'be been always passing through by FUJIFILM area in camera stores.

didn't have any knowledge for them.

so, I went to a camera store and touched them.

but toughing camera in a store is not enough,

I want to try it at outside. And wanted to see the color result.

Then, I found that FUJIFILM has camera rental service.

and it's free for 1 day rental.

so, I went to tried it.

but I was too early.

XT2 was already on the market, but they didn't have it for rental.

So, I thought XT1 is OK, should be closer feeling.

but FUJIFILM people told me Xpro 2 has very close images to XT2.

so, I borrowed Xpro2 and 2 lenses on the day.

I borrowed 23mm f1.4 and 35mm f1.4.

those are totally free, can you believe it ?! FUJIFILM is awesome !

I took many photos, but it wasn't for artistic work,

I mean, I just wanted to see the color of FUJIFILM camera.

of course the experience pushed me to get XT2.

Lens Pick

I took time to choose the lenses.

my focus was at prime lenses.

I want to use XT2 more for daily snaps.

I borrowed 2 prime lenses and enjoyed them.

those were 23m and 35mm, those are like 35mm and 50mm on full frame camera.

I already have 35mm and 50mm for my Nikon D750.

I thought I should get a new distance for XT2.

so, I decided to get 56mm for my first choice.

56mm is like 85mm on full frame sensor.

I've been intrested in 85mm lens in this few months.

so, I thought it's a good choice.

and one more lens,

35mm is too close to 56mm, so, I chose 23mm.

I have budget limit and I thought I was going to get 23mm f2.

but I tried price negotiation very hard :D

because I would buy 3 items together,

I don't usually do price negotiation at camera store because they already gave us good price.

so, I didn't expect too much discount.

but this time, I wanted f1.4 lens, f2 wasn't my first choice.

I talk to the store staff and he gave me unbelievable good price.

I could have f1.4, but... look at this...

23mm f1.4 is not compact.

but OK, good image quality is the priority.

First impression.

the feeing of the material is very nice, I like the metal feeling. And the beautiful design.

also, the dials on the top of the camera make me feel ''Maneuvering camera''.

and it's actually heavier than I thought.

that means I feel stability when I hold it, althought my priority was lightness.....

it's lighter than D750 though !

Photos

I uploaded the photos taken by XT2 on my Instsagram,

I haven't shot many yet. So , those 2 are only photos now I can show you.

Comperaison

Compare to D750

I felt big difference between D750 image quality to XT2 image quality.

I don't mean which is better or which is beautiful.

it's just different type of depiction.

if I describe it, D750 images are more like oil painting, and XT2 images are more like watercolor.

I'd like to talk more about XT2,

but the video is too long today,

so, let's finish it for now.

Korean gov't condemns Japanese defense chief's visit to controversial shrine - Duration: 2:40.

South Korea's government condemned the visit of Japan's defense minister to the controversial

Yasukuni Shrine,.... where war criminals from World War Two are enshrined.

This comes just a day after the one year anniversary of a bilateral agreement on Japan's wartime

sexual enslavement of Korean women.

Kwon Soa has more on Tokyo's continued display of glorifying its wartime aggressions... while

displaying lackluster efforts to make ammends.

Calling it "beyond deplorable",... Korea's defense and foreign ministries were quick

to respond to Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi Inada's visit to the controversial Yasukuni

Shrine on Thursday morning.

Both ministries released a statement saying the visit to the controversial site by Inada

not only honors war criminals, but also beautifies Tokyo's past colonial infliction and aggression.

It was the minister's first visit to the shrine since she took office in August,... but nonetheless

one that added to many other tributes by key Japanese figures to Japan's war dead, including

14 class A war criminals.

According to Korea's government the visit was made in spite of Seoul's emphasis on the

need for future-oriented Korea-Japan relations,... that are based on an honest view of history.

"The government once again makes clear that Japan could recover trust from its neighbors

and the international society only when its leaders face up to history correctly and carry

their self-examination and sincere repentance into action."

Lodging a protest to Inada's visit,... Seoul's defense ministry summoned Hideaki Takahashi,

the Japanese military attache in Seoul in the afternoon.

Likewise, the foreign ministry's director-general of the Northeast Asia Affairs Bureau, Chung

Byung-won strongly protested against the visit,... summoning Kohei Maruyama.... a minister at

the Japanese Embassy in Seoul.

China's foreign ministry also expressed its deep regret and opposition towards the visit

through its spokesperson.

The visit took place just two days after Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's highly symbolic visit

to Pearl Harbor in the U.S.,... and just one day after the first anniversary of the Seoul-Tokyo

landmark agreement on Japan's wartime sexual enslavement of Korean women.

"The continuous visits by Japanese officials to the controversial shrine only seem to increase

doubts on Tokyo's sincerity towards wartime atrocities,... including their sincerity towards

the bilateral deal on the so-called 'comfort women' issue.

South Korea's foreign ministry says that's why these acts are even more "retrogressive".

S. Korea's Special Forces hold their annual winter training drills - Duration: 1:52.

Winter is a time many Koreans dread, but for some of the most dedicated soldiers of the

nation, this is their moment.

The Special Forces troops are immersed in their regular winter training exercise held

in one of the coldest parts of the country.

Kim Hyun-bin braved the sub-zero climate to witness the process in Pyeongchang.

A platoon of Army Special Forces covertly rappels down from a helicopter into enemy

territory... and infiltrates key facilities.

Moments later a bomb explodes,... destroying the building.

On top of a mountain,...

Special Forces are in full gear, carrying more than 30 kilograms on their backs as they

ski down a steep slope.

Once the enemy is spotted, they switch into battle formation in the blink of an eye and

volley off a wave of bullets to neutralize the targets.

These exercises are part of South Korea's Special Forces winter training drills at Hwangbyeong

mountain in Gangwon-do Province.

"It's below minus 15 degrees Celsius here but the harsh conditions don't discourage

the Special Forces from completing their training."

From hand-to-hand combat to underwater infiltration,... they are all maneuvers that wouldn't look

out of place in an action movie.

"We are learning different skills, and enhancing our teamwork and minds to crush the enemy

at any cost.

We train as realistically as possible so we can become the best Special Forces in the

world."

Each battalion of South Korea's Special Forces will go through ten intense days of winter

training to better fulfill their duty of protecting the nation.
