Letter T Riddle Puzzle l Family Game Time - Duration: 4:38.Hey guys it's Carrie Anne from EverythingMom
and if you've seen our riddle post,
which I'll include the link below, you can
probably tell that riddles are sort of a
something that we like to do as a family.
Kind of challenge your brain to think a
little differently and it's a great
activity that all members of the family
can participate from youngest to oldest.
This Christmas one of the things that
everybody sort of received we're kind of
these riddle puzzles and one that I
received is at first glance really quite simple
All you had to do is using four
pieces of wood cut in various angles put
them together to form an uppercase
letter T.
So, sounds simple right? That's what I
thought when I started to do it.
I actually even challenged some of my
family to try and create it as well.
We were sort of stumped.
So all you're trying to do it take the four pieces
and you form it into the shape of a T, the letter T,
an uppercase T.
[fast music]
I realized when I was trying to create
the letter T, trying to solve this puzzle,
I was using sort of preconceived notions
about how the pieces should fit together.
I kept looking at these pieces like they
should go somehow like this, like up,
across and down. That thinking was making
it difficult for me and I think the
whole family to try and solve the puzzle.
So when I put that notion to the side,
when I forgot about looking at the
puzzle pieces as straight lines, an
idea occurred to me and it all
centered on one piece. One simple piece
with a notch in it. At the end of this
video I do share the solution but if you
haven't tried it yet i've included a
link below that will take you to the
post where you can get a printable of
the pieces that you print and cut out
and then try to manipulate the puzzle
yourself. And then if you are stumped or
if you do solve it and want to see if
you have the same solution that that I
had you can watch the rest of the video.
But like stop, go solve the puzzle and
then come on back.
[Solution Revealed]
This piece is the center.
So you have your line down
And it's a T. It's this one piece.
Everything else sort of falls in the
straight line design like based on how
you think the letter should go but it
was that one centerpiece that was having
a problem. When I convinced myself to not
think of the pieces like in straight
lines, when I noticed this little notch
here and thought of it as the connector
between the top line and the bottom,
the rest of it all fell into place to make the T.
Now that you've seen it I'm
sure you'll see that it actually isn't that
complicated. It really is based on how
you look at the pieces to determine the outcome.
So if you put some of those
notions away it really changes everything.
This sort of riddle puzzle a lot of fun.
A little bit of a challenge.
If you enjoyed solving this
puzzle with your family
let me know in the comments below so we'll
try and come up with a few more that you
can challenge your own family with.
As always you can find me here talking mom
confessions, family travel, books for kids
and just some sort of fun stuff like this puzzle
Be sure to subscribe so you
know in the next video is published and
until next time. Ciao

10 Popular Actors With The SCARIEST Movie Auditions - Duration: 6:17.Since casting is such an integral part of any film, directors will typically hold auditions
for key roles.
This means that even some of the biggest stars in the industry have to try out before they
sign on for a project – regardless of how talented they are.
Sometimes, these screen tests don't always go so well.
It doesn't matter if the thespian in question has won numerous awards throughout their career;
there's always a chance they're just not the best fit for a certain role.
And they find that hard the hard way.
Here are 10 talented actors with the scariest audition stories.
If you like what you see, be sure to subscribe to our channel and give us a thumbs up!
Eddie Redmayne
Eddie Redmayne has received an Oscar for playing Steven Hawking and is now a part of J.K.
Rowling's famed wizarding world, but there is one thing we know he can't do: be a villain
in a Star Wars film.
Redmayne was one of the actors who read for Kylo Ren during pre-production on The Force
Awakens, and it's safe to say he bombed his audition.
Due to the secrecy of the project, Redmayne was reciting lines from other movies and only
knew his would-be character was a bad guy.
He started doing a poor Darth Vader impression and spoke in a funny voice, which didn't
win over the casting directors.
At least he has Newt Scamander.
Aaron Paul
The Breaking Bad star had a minor role in J.J. Abrams' Mission: Impossible 3, so it's
no surprise he met with the filmmaker again while Abrams was working on Cloverfield.
When Paul arrived for the audition, Abrams had the actor tell a story of a cool card
trick he performed during M:I 3, which caused Paul to lose his train of thought.
Instead of delivering a three-page monologue he memorized, Paul had to stop in the middle
of it and apologize.
All Abrams said was 'That's OK.
Thanks for coming in.' and Paul left without the part.
But shortly after he became Jesse Pinkman, so it all worked out.
Blake Lively
Lively looked to make movies at a very young age, trying out for the hit comedy Mrs. Doubtfire
when she was just 5-years old.
Blake's mom didn't want her daughter to get star struck by Robin Williams, so she
told Blake that she'd be reading with the comedian's twin brother.
When Lively walked in, the filmmakers introduced her to the one and only Robin Williams, and
Blake's response was, "You're not his twin?"
You can probably guess how things went after that.
When Blake came out of the room, she told mom that Williams had morning breath and moved
on.
Now that Lively is a successful actress, she can laugh about that mishap.
Chris Evans
These days, people are in awe to meet Captain America, but prior to the actor's Marvel
days, it was the other way around.
Evans met with Ben Affleck to audition for the Boston legend's directorial debut, Gone
Baby Gone.
Upon arriving, Evans became nervous and asked Affleck if the parking spot he chose was OK.
After an awkward conversation about parking meters ensued, Evans was mortified and couldn't
wait to leave the room.
He was so upset that he gave Affleck one-word answers to any question asked and kept rocking
in the chair he was sitting in.
Now that they're both established superheroes, maybe Affleck and Evans can work together
one day.
Chris Pine
Chris Pine made a name for himself as the new Captain Kirk in the rebooted Star Trek
series, but he could have had a role in a different 2009 sci-fi blockbuster.
Pine was in the running for James Cameron's Avatar, but his audition went horribly.
Recalling the experience, Pine mentioned that he went into the room not believing in himself
as he tried to picture Cameron's ambitious vision for the film.
He stopped halfway through his reading, and the casting director was either smiling or
laughing at him.
Neither one would be ideal, and the role of Jake Sully eventually went to Sam Worthington.
Pine has led three successful Star Trek movies, so it's clear he's got talent.
Jake Gyllenhaal
Jake Gyllenhaal has emerged as a chameleon actor capable of completing transforming himself
for a role, but he's steered clear of big-budget productions.
Maybe his awful experience auditioning for Lord of the Rings played a role in that.
Gyllenhaal read for Frodo, but nobody told the actor that the character had an English
accent.
Gyllenhaal recited his lines in an American accent, which didn't please Peter Jackson.
The director told Gyllenhaal to fire his agents and felt it was one of the worst auditions
he'd seen.
This is why it's always best to prepare as much as possible, a lesson Gyllenhaal seems
to have learned.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Leo has played everything from a sleazy stockbroker to a dream thief to a vicious slave owner
in his career, so there's very little he can't do.
Director Baz Luhrmann discovered one limitation of DiCaprio while casting Moulin Rouge: singing.
Leo admitted he feels he has a horrible singing voice, but tried out for the musical anyway.
Luhrmann played piano while DiCaprio sang a tune, and when the Oscar winner reached
a high note, Luhrmann stopped and said, "I don't know if this conversation should continue."
Leo has acted in numerous genres, but this is one he probably won't audition for again.
Some people just aren't cut out for singing.
Bradley Cooper
Bradley Cooper quickly rose to the top of the A-list thanks to a trio of Oscar nominated
performances that made him an awards season mainstay, but before he became a critical
darling, his career could have taken a different trajectory.
Cooper was one of the names considered for 2011's Green Lantern, but the actor didn't
really take his audition seriously.
His screen test amounted to doing an impersonation of Christian Bale's gravely voiced Batman,
when the casting people wanted him to just talk normally.
Cooper didn't get the role, and that turned out to be a bullet dodged.
Now, we're just wondering when he'll win his Academy Award instead of how he'll recover
from a flop.
Daniel Radcliffe
You know the old saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it?"
Even a kind-hearted hero like Harry Potter forgets that sometimes.
While in an audition, Daniel Radcliffe was gossiping about somebody when another person
came walking in the room.
Radcliffe continued his story and when he finished, he came to the sobering realization
that the person he was talking about was a good friend of who Radcliffe had to audition
for.
We don't know which movie this was, but it's safe to say it's not a project on
the actor's IMDb page.
Talk about an awkward situation.
Channing Tatum
Channing Tatum has gone from a pretty boy to a go-to actor who has worked with respected
auteurs like Steven Soderbergh, Quentin Tarantino, and the Coen brothers, but he had a rocky
journey to the top.
Earlier in his career, Tatum auditioned for a role in Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, but
he forgot the most important lesson: remember your lines.
Yes.
Tatum could not remember the dialogue he was supposed to say during the screen test and
ended up freaking out and sweating profusely.
He obviously didn't get that part, but he managed to turn things around down the road
and become a Hollywood leading man.
Chloe Grace-Moretz
The legendary Martin Scorsese is a director every actor dreams of working with, and when
auditioning for him, there's no limits to what people will attempt to get in his favor.
When trying out for one of the lead roles in Scorsese's love letter to cinema Hugo,
Chloe Grace-Moretz rolled the dice and told the filmmaker a little lie.
The Georgia-born actress told Marty that she was British and tried to pass it off so she
could get the part.
Apparently, Chloe is good at fudging up the truth, since Scorsese cast her in Hugo.
If he was impressed, Moretz did something right.
Conclusion
Those are just some of the worst audition stories from the A-listers.
Which ones did we miss?

Bringing delight and warmth to waste paper collectors - Duration: 4:52.Often spotted in the streets of Korean cities are elderly people collecting cardboard boxes
and other paper material.
Making a living this way is physically demanding... and the rewards are small, but they have little
choice.
To provided some much needed support, a couple of groups started some remarkable projects
sure to bring some warmth to them this winter.
It's time for our News Feature tonight with Oh Jung-hee.
69-year-old Kim Hyo-soon collects cardboard boxes and other waste paper for a living in
Seoul's Gwangjin-gu.
Despite the winter cold... she walks all around town to find paper material that's been thrown
out.
"I come out in the morning and return home at four in the afternoon.
I earn anywhere from 33 to 41 dollars a month."
It's physically demanding for paper collectors, who are mostly elderly, to stay out in the
cold all day long, pushing and pulling a big, heavy handcart.
But Kim's work has recently become much more manageable.
A group of students from Seoul National University came up with new, much lighter type of handcart...
that has space for advertisements.
"Our carts are only about 40 kilograms -- much lighter than the ordinary ones, which weigh
from 60 to 90 kilos.
And because collectors are easy to spot just about anywhere,... we attached advertising
billboards to the carts so they can make some extra money.
The collectors get 90-percent of the advertising profit."
There are about 1-point-7 million collectors nationwide... and their average monthly earnings
range from 33 to 83 dollars.
For them, 33 dollars in advertising profit is no small amount of money.
"Because of the current economic situation... elderly collectors barely earn 4 dollars a
day.
Using the new handcart helps them quite a lot, indeed."
"This cart is so much easier to pull and push.
It's lighter, and I can load more.
The small one I usually use -- it often falls over.
And now I earn more I'm really grateful to these students.
Who would think to help me like this?"
Lee says his team hopes to expand the use of the new carts... so that paper collectors
can take more pride in their job... by making it less tiring... and giving them a greater,
more stable income.
"The environment ministry will provide us with support to produce 100 new handcarts.
These will be used in Gwanak-gu and Gwangjin-gu districts.
But in the end, we hope we can make a lot more so that every collector in the country
can use one."
"This exhibition doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary -- with its colorful paintings
on white canvases.
But there's a special difference here.
The canvases on which these small and cute paintings are drawn... are made of wastepapers."
A volunteer sits down to make canvases out of discarded boxes.
These boxes are bought directly from the collectors at a price ten times higher than what the
market pays.
"We learned that paper collectors can't earn very much... despite how physically demanding
their work is.
So we decided to create a virtuous cycle where it's possible to make a decent profit from
discarded paper.
The product we chose to sell is artwork on waste-paper canvases."
The volunteers make the canvases by themselves... and other talented volunteers fill them in
with paintings or calligraphy.
The art is sold to the general public... and the proceeds are used to buy more boxes.
"It is truly wonderful to be a part of this project.
The main driving force of this whole thing is love.
And my volunteering produces tangible results."
These projects are in their early stages... and still have a long way to go.
But they've already brought delight and warmth to paper collectors.
They say sharing doesn't have to be on a huge scale.
Rather, it starts with showing a bit of care for our neighbors.
"Many tend to think that, to share, we have to hand over a lot of money.
The heads of big companies donate tens of thousands of dollars.
But, sharing doesn't necessarily have to be like that.
We achieve it just by finding another use for scrap cardboard."
"Sharing starts with paying attention.
All the time we see around us elderly people collecting waste paper... but we tend to see
them as a minor part of our society.
Showing warm attention and love for our neighbors will in the end come back to us as happiness."
Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

Korean eyes on outgoing UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon over likely bid to run for presidency - Duration: 2:04.Speculations continue to mount UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon... could run for the presidency.
Ban will finish his term in the UN office at the end of the year... and will return
to South Korea in mid-January.
Ji Myung-kil has an analysis of the outgoing UN Chief's possible next move.
Outgoing UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is expected to engage in a variety of political
activities... likely as a conservative presidential candidate... when he returns to Korea on January
15th.
On Friday...
Ban was quoted as saying in a meeting with a ruling Saenuri Party lawmaker in New York...
that Korea needs to achieve political integration... and seek economic and social compromises.
Ban added that Korea faces a crisis, and that, in such times,... vulnerable groups such as
the young, women and the elderly... face the biggest challenges.
Amid expectations that he will run for president, however,... the UN head refrained from commenting
on his political future.
The right-leaning parties have welcomed Ban's possible bid for the presidency... while the
opposition parties have said they will set up a taskforce to verify Ban's qualifications.
Since he hasn't confirmed that he plans to run, Ban has also not elaborated on whom he
would team up with for a presidential run... but he did hint that in general he would be
open to working with various political groups.
Ban could form an alliance with lawmakers who've broken away from the ruling Saenuri
Party or he could align with the second largest opposition group, the People's Party, for
the election currently scheduled for December 2017.
The former career diplomat Ban, who has no political base in Korea, is expected to meet
with leaders from all walks of life before making a final decision on a run for the presidency.

Korea on alert against bird flu during year-end season - Duration: 1:43.Korea remain high alert over avian influenza, enlisting civil servants, police and soldiers
in quarantine efforts.
The nation's culled a record number of poultry in a record amount of time... dwarfing the
horrors of Korea's first AI outbreak in 2013.
Kim Hyo-sun has the latest.
This season's bird flu outbreak in Korea has led to the culling of a record number of poultry
birds -- over 28-point-4 million nationwide.
That's the most since the country's first-ever outbreak of avian influenza in December 2013.
In fact, the quarantine authorities say the nation has lost 17 percent of its poultry
stock.
Although only two new suspected cases of AI have been reported in the past three days,...
local authorities are on alert because the movement of people reaches a peak around the
end of the year, which can exacerbate the spread of the virus.
The falling temperature is another factor that can help it spread.
All local governments are engaged in efforts to contain the outbreak,... with Chungcheongbuk-do
Province intensifying supervision of the region's migratory bird habitats and poultry farms.
In Jeollabuk-do Province, public officials, police officers and enlisted soldiers have
been mobilized to strengthen sterilization efforts there.
And Gyeongsangbuk-do Province has called off all annual year-end sunset events.
It's also laid out mats on the ground at scenic outdoor places where people will gather to
see the first sunrise of the new year, which sterilize the shoes of visitors so they don't
inadvertently bring or take the virus with them.

ever want to wear anything else for the
rest of my life. it has thumb holes and
these are so you can pretend like you're
one of those girls that dances with
danny kaye during the choreography
number of white Christmas
that's what these are for perfect
so in this video I'm going to go over
the things that I finished in 2016
I did more stitching than I've ever done
in my life in a year this year I don't
know
yeah i did a lot of stitching and I have
a lot of finishes a couple of that
you've never seen I haven't showed them
on my channel before so hopefully it
won't be completely boring so we'll talk
about cross stitch again I've said this
to a couple people on like the messenger
but do you ever have those moments where
you're like I'm making videos about
cross stitch I'm once again watching
videos about cross stitch it's just
strange and wonderful and strange. so
here we go again another video about
cross stitch i'm going to show you these
things in the order that i have finished
them pretty much and the first five are
my patterns and that's just how it went
down this year so all the links to
everything i'm going to talk about will
be down below if you're interested in
anything i stitch this year so first
thing I finished was from my valentine
day....i did like five new
patterns for Valentine's Day this year
and it is a snarky heart that says can
you not. I don't even remember stitching
this but apparently I did because look
here it is this was my first finish in
the hoop if I'm being completely honest
I never finished anything in a hoop
before didn't know how to make bows
because look at that I'm a really bad
bow maker and i have learned how to make
them better thanks to Vonna the twisted
stitcher but there we go i need to
redo this bow another thing i need to
redo is the back. looks fine and the
finishing is good it's tight but
I need to put some batting in these
because they kind of sinks in a little
bit even though it's tight
it needs something in the middle so
lesson learned
the second one is another Valentine's
Day piece is called remember how we fell
in love so sweet and it's bunnies and
snow and birch trees i really liked
doing this one I think it's nice i like
about finished not that all these are in
class because i love you but I don't
love you enough to disassemble all these
so you can see them better
sorry
the third finish is another hoop that
needs batting
better bow
it is home sweet home and it's just an
Indiana piece cute my favorite colors
because I just can't get enough aqua with
red adorbs third piece is my Shakespeare
piece will show you in a second but this
was the second piece i have stitched in
hand and the last piece i will stitch in
hand I didn't mind the process of
stitching in hand so much i think my
stitches look a little bit neater
I don't know why um from stitching in
hand but i just cannot get over
manhandling my fabric I wash my hands
before I stitch but you know your hands
are never completely clean if you didn't
know that
there you go your hands are never
completely
yeah we're not... okay side story when i
was in college
uh one of this one of the girls in my
dorm was a nursing student and she had
to do this like presentation of how
dirty your hands actually are so we're
all sitting around in this room and she
did some sort of speech for this project
she was doing and she made us go wash
our hands in the dorm bathroom and then
come back and shut the lights off and
she had some sort of light that showed
the germs on your hands and of course we
all like had neon green hands that were
not actually clean so i can't get that
out of my head I can't unlearn that and
so feeling up my fabric it's just not
for me
here's William Shakespeare is my homeboy
I love this piece i love the colors I
love his little pony tail and his goatee
and I love Shakespeare so here yes
the next piece is you can't touch this
my father's day MC Hammer mashup i love
this piece
I can't say it's my bestseller
definitely not but I think it's adorable
and I really enjoyed it i might actually
give this to my dad this year I never
actually intended to give this to my dad
because I I like it too much and he
doesn't watch my videos
you better believe it
ok the next pattern is by dork stitch it
is
come to the dark side we have cookies I
did this twice and finished it twice and
I will never do that again I think 2016
was the year I learned all the things
that will never do again I will never
again stitch a pattern twice it was for
a good cause this is the easy pattern
and worked up quickly but it was so it
was boring
I'll be honest it's adorable my son
loves it i'm glad i stitched it for my
son and my nephews
I like how it turned out but never again
I will never stitch the same pattern
back to back
I don't know how you guys do it i know
some people were talking about their
ornaments and like doing the same thing
for all their kids
wow you're a better person than I
because no I finish this
the lazy way I will never do that again
i bought one of those sticky pieces of
cardboard that you use for finishing
needlepoint and it was a nightmare
I did it to save time but i think i'd
actually took me more time because it's
just really hard to work with that
sticky stuff on it was really these
lines are completely straight but there
are straight as I could possibly finagle
them and it's just it's very not
forgiving
it's very bumpy i won't i won't be able
to show you that but i can see the
unevenness of how you know some parts of
the fabric or sticking really well and
some parts are and maybe I didn't do it
right but I also stitch this is on 16
count and because i'm a coverage freak i
stitch with usually too many strands so
i did this with i think i did it with
three
yeah i did this with three strands and I
think Darth Vader has four strands
because I always add an extra strand for
white and black
so this is some pretty thick stitches so
naturally the parts of the fabric that
don't have stitching on them are sunk
lower because they're sticking onto that
piece of cardboard and my stitches are
raised up just looks terrible
um so staff learns not to take the easy
way out
my son loves this and he doesn't care
and he'll never notice so there you go
one of my favorite finishes for the year
this was my pride and prejudice blessing
i just love this piece
um and I love seeing the different
finishes that people have done this has
been given for like a christening gift
and um different occasions
it's just I'm really proud of this
yeah what else going to say this is a
really quick stitch you don't like back
stitching i wouldn't recommend it
because most of the text is back
stitched but it goes really quickly and
I think it's beautiful so pride and
prejudice blessing
alright I'm going to look at my notes
because I'm just pattern away i'm not
paying attention i finished my Advent
animals that's in my last video if you
want to check those out hanging up on
the wall and I don't want to brag in
here
to show to you again your thought um I
finished festive friends my cat and
mouse piece i will show you that in my
next video because reasons I didn't iron
it and what else
all right i'm gonna show you my favorite
piece that I finished in 2016
I get emotional over this cross stitch I
I made it for sentimental reasons so I'm
kind of I don't know it and I don't get
to look at it a lot because it's not
finished its rolled away and so when i
actually get it out look at it like I
love this piece
it is going to market by Julia Cairns
this is by dimensions. I just
think it's gorgeous I love the colors I
love the background i love i love
everything about it
let's just gaze at it together
I need to fo that big time tho those are
all the things that i stitched and
finished i'm going to show you two
things that I didn't stitch but I
finished and I get to keep
don't you wish that was a category and
your list things. you didn't stitch them but
you have them and you get to keep uh this
next piece is one of my patterns it
is smokey the grammar police only you
can prevent bad grammar
ashleigh Morgan stitched this for me her
stitching is impeccable
it's lovely and then I got to ffo it and
keep it as one of my models i will link
Ashley's channel down below she has some
gorgeous gorgeous projects she's doing
portrait of Veronica faster than the
blue blazes so check out her channel
down below but her stitching is lovely
and I'm so glad that um yeah so glad
that I get to have this it's an
important message that needs to go out
into the world
the second thing i have to show you that
i did not personally stitch is stinkin
adorable and it was stitched by my
ten-year-old daughter Phoebe. Phoebe has
done embroidery and needlework before
but she's totally new to cross stitching
one day she just picked up my world
of cross stitching magazine and fell in
love with some Durene Jones ornaments
that were in the last issue and decided
to stitch so she stitched this and i
finished it into an ornament thanks to
Vonna's pillow ornament tutorial and here
it is . she put her initials
and the corner
this is adorable this is the most
adorable thing hanging on my tree now
and she made my heart happy
Phoebe is my crafty girl and she cracks
me up
you know I don't think that she's
actually paying I I don't think she's
paying attention to like my cross stitch
blah blah blah that I do but she is one day we were
sitting at the table and she opened up a
issue of World of Cross Stitching
she's looking at this pattern it was a
woman i don't remember which pattern it
was but there's a lady in a dress and
she's looking at it and she says mom
this pattern could really use some back
stitching and she was totally right
that pattern needed some backstitching
hilarious at first I was like what did
you just say that this pattern is some
back stitching. i had two
give up this year the first being dance
at Bougivoul by Renoir that was my full
coverage piece that I just decided I
didn't like the definition in the
pattern and i also didn't like stitching
full coverage so tried it not for me i
will admire your full coverage pieces
from afar the second give up
I'd never admitted to its spring
delivery by Plum Street samplers I was
having such issues with the colors on
that pattern
um didn't match the picture and i am not
blaming the designer or anything but you
know how that drives you crazy when you
bought the pattern because you like the
picture and then it didn't work out like
the colors don't match the picture and
yeah I did the floss toss didn't like
the colors and stupidly thought that if
I stitch the colors in the fabric but
that would make a difference now don't
you
yeah and then i tried to do some color
swapping after i started with the
original color scheme and I just had it
up to here uh and i ended up adopting
that WIP to tricia at three owl
threads and she is taking care of it and
feeding it and loving it
yeah and I don't regret doing that at
all
life is too short to be stitching on
something that makes you want to pull
your hair out so I first for this year
was stitching with petite treasure
braid i really enjoy that stuff and i
look forward to stitching with it more
yeah so looking forward to 2016 17 2017
i hope to finish all the WIPS that I
have going on right now so that would
include Song of Solomon sampler, giant
harry potter, and and forest grew i think
i'll be able to finish giant harry
potter by mid-summer. and a forest grew will
probably take me most of the year to
finish up that pattern is just so
gigantic and that is one of the lessons
I feel like I learned this year on the
gigantic patterns i don't know i do
enjoy the process of stitching big
patterns and I think having that
experience with the advent animals and
getting so many blocks done a month
really was fun and then I turned around
and started to gigantic pieces I don't
know I i like the process of actually
finishing things and I don't like
letting things linger but yet I'm drawn
to such a gigantic patterns I don't know
how to sort that out in how I work
through things
No
but it's not a huge deal because i enjoy
cross-stitching I don't like
micromanaging it i don't like setting
huge goals I don't like forcing myself
to do things I don't want to do this is
my area fun and so I'm not going to
hyper analyze it but i do want to finish
those two gigantic pieces and yeah I
don't know whatever right whatever
possible starts i do want to start a
mother and child that's another Julia
Cairns piece that have the kit for also
want to start my Julia line French named
piece LaBrie De Noe I want to start that
one I don't know we'll see i have a list
of things that have interested in and
that i would like to start but i would
like to finish these big giant pieces
before I get too involved in a bunch of
other projects
yeah things I want to work on next year
i have attention issue and I didn't
realize that I had attention issue until
I was stitching on that damask ada is
really really soft and so all of a
sudden I was noticing gaping holes and
um that's not good i remember vana
saying something to the effect that um
you know she knows all that how it's
supposed to be perfect because she's
trying to win the grand champion of the
fair that she goes to but um if you hold
your whip up to the light and you can
see holes distinct holes you have
attention issue and I don't think I
noticed it as much because i was doing
so many projects on aida for my
store and I you know overload my strands
of loss because i like really really
thick coverage
that there's no room to have holes but
have noticed on my giant harry potter
which is on lugana and that i have holes
i have holes and so I needham I need to
lighten up on my attention but it's one
of those issues that you have to
constantly be keeping yourself aware of
or you just fall back into habit of
attention that you're used to
so I've been working on that but it's
not known so hot
um yeah I need a lot i need to lighten
up on my attention and not pull it pull
my loss so hard
okay um the other thing that I want to
work on is my tails all sounds so
bizarre i need to work on my tails so
how many stitches do you run your your
needle through to finish off a strand I
go a little nuts and i need to stop
doing that as we have a real issue on my
and forest grew where you have a motif
that's this big and has seven colors and
so you're finishing off seven colors in
this little time space and when you're
like me and you want to run your needle
through about 10 stitches before you cut
the thread that doesn't go so hot so i
need to stop doing that and what's the
minimum i feel comfortable with six
cutting back to six but i know that you
probably don't need to do that either
right maybe three how many stitches do
you go behind i would love to know those
are my issues
sorry about that my camera did its thing
so those are my cross stitch issues that
I have to get sorted out
so yeah that's pretty much all i have to
talk about let's see what i got for
christmas i asked my husband for a new
perfume that i picked up myself at the
store I sprayed it on my grocery list
and tester bottle looked pretty normal
you know it doesn't they don't have like
all the frills that the you know normal
perfume that you buy because they're
just testers so I sprayed it on my
grocery list and it was amazing so I
said okay go get me this perfume has
really stupid name and then I opened it
on Christmas and here's what the bottle
looks like
what so apparently my alter ego is a
female rapper but this stuff smells
amazing i'm going to tell you the name
don't judge me it is viva la juicy juicy
couture
what in the world but it smells like
magic and rainbows and the Scottish
sunset really good at describing scents
so the succulent died
it wasn't its death throes for about two
weeks so I kept it by my bedside and it
crossed the rainbow bridge so I think
for the sake of the environment i'm not
going to be getting any more houseplants
because i have a record
what else is there to talk about
you're just sitting there stitching
right
top 5 books i read this year i'll give
them to you i read 49 looks this year
which sounds like an incredibly large
number but for me it is incredibly small
in 2014
I read a hundred and fourteen books
which now sounds like I was insane i
wouldn't put that out of the question
top 5. the best book I read this year
was drumroll gone with the wind by
margaret mitchell that look is amazing
it is a thousand pages law and I didn't
want it to end it was incredible i have
never seen the movie so I walked into it
completely blind
I of course knew the last line that
Rhett says in the book or at least in
the movie uh it was it was incredible i
have a hard time picking up a book that
big because i know it's going to take me
forever to read and it could have been
2,000 pages long
it was really really good
there are a few pages of haha total
racial nonsense where Margaret Mitchell
goes into her theory of how black people
are not very smart but other than that
there wasn't there was less gardless of
that garbage and I thought there would
be i'll just put it that way there was
just a few pages that made me want to
gag but um amazing story number two
would be the circle by dave eggers that
book is it's not like an amazing piece
of literature that you're going to drag
your grandchildren about it just
explores the idea of transparency and
internet and audience and it's just
really interesting
yeah i could go on about that one but
well the movies coming out this year it
looks terrible what's happened to Tom
Hanks that's what I'm wondering
used to be this great thing now he's
made some good movies he's just like in
everything and now he's becoming like
this stock old man character the movie
looks bad
read the book alright what else that i
read this year i said on top five
numbers thinking off the top of my head
oh all the light we cannot see by
Anthony Doerr that we've got a lot of
hype this year
well deserved that was an amazing story
beautifully written
aah suspenseful some serious it's lovely
it's just an awesome story I think
anyone would enjoy that book it's just
it's heartwarming
I'm not a booktuber what do you want it
was an amazing story
go read it another book that I really
liked was my brilliant friend by Elena
Ferrante that would also got a lot of
well-deserved type it was amazing that
lady can write I mean it's basically
just a story of two best friends growing
up in Italy and that sounds really
boring but it was completely captivating
ended up reading the whole series but
the first one is definitely the cream of
the crop my brilliant friend just
getting it was a top-four list because i
can't remember anything else that i read
so let's wrap this up i don't have a
career as a booktuber
I hope you ring in the new year with
style happy stitching everyone I from me
to you a very heartfelt I enjoy your
videos and your comments you guys the
cross-stitch commune really needs to
be a thing just saying we really need to
do that it's should be our retirement
plan that we are going to move to the
Pacific Northwest with our stitching
stash and race cats and live in your
tits and enjoy each other's company
enough said talk to you guys next time

Korea's consumer prices rise 1.3% y/y in December - Duration: 2:13.Korea's consumer prices logged fourth straight month of growth above one percent in December.
This pulls up the prices for the entire year were one-percent -- after dropping to a record
low in 2015.
Kim Min-ji breaks down the digits for us.
Korea's consumer prices rose 1-point-3 percent in December from a year ago.
Although that's slowed from the month before,... the figure has been in the one-percent for
four straight months.
Statistics Korea says the rise was mainly led by high food prices,... which jumped due
to hot summer weather and a typhoon in the same season.
"Everything's so expensive these days.
I don't know how many times I compare and look for better deals when I buy groceries."
"It seems food prices change so much and its a burden for people for like me.
I prepare a list before I come, but sometimes I end up not being able to buy everything
I planned to."
Prices of agricultural and fisheries products spiked 6-point-7 percent this month from the
year before,... while prices of fresh foodstuffs, which includes vegetables and fruit,... have
risen 12 percent.
This is due in part to an egg shortage in the wake of the recent outbreak of avian influenza.
Korea has culled over 20 million poultry across the nation since the first case of bird flu
was reported in November.
But prices of gasoline and electricity have fallen over 11 percent from a year ago thanks
to a government drive to lower household electricity bills.
Over the course of the year,... Korea's consumer prices have risen 1 percent.
After posting a 1-point-3 percent rise in 2014,... prices fell to a record-low of 0-point-7
percent in 2015... and they're now back up in the one-percent range.
Come 2017,... even though there are downside risks ahead, such as slowing domestic demand,...
consumer prices are expected to rise further, due to a pick up in global oil prices... and
the potential lasting impact of the bird flu outbreak.

Kim Jong-un's New Year's address to reveal his blueprint for rule in 2017 - Duration: 2:14.North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is set to lay out his plans for 2017 in a New Year's
speech.
His remarks could provide some insight into the direction Pyongyang might take... especially
with leadership changes in the works for Seoul and Washington.
Connie Kim fills us in on what we could expect from the unpredictable young leader.
Kim Jong-un's New Year's speech is set to lay out the blueprint of how he plans to rule
as he enters his sixth year in power.
The young leader's words are carefully scrutinized each year for any clues to the secretive regime's
intentions.
"Kim Jong-un's annual New Year's speech aims to consolidate the regime.
It also lays out the direction the leader will take to run it."
Pyongyang has stated that its strategic stance as a nuclear state has changed since Donald
Trump was elected the next U.S. president, calling for a change in Washington's North
Korea policies.
Considering the North has so far refrained from launching any missiles since Trump's
victory in early November, attention will be focused on what message, if any, Kim will
relay to the new administration.
South Korea's turbulent domestic political situation is another factor Kim is likely
to consider in his speech.
Rather than proposing government level inter-Korean talks, some North Korea watchers have suggested
Kim might call for talks with civilian organizations.
At the start of 2016, Kim said North Korea was willing to discuss the issue of reunification
with anyone who truly hopes for a reunified peninsula.
Kim's internal message is another element to watch out for.
Earlier this year,... North Korea held its first Workers' Party Congress in more than
three decades,... laying out a five-year economic plan for the regime and solidifying his leadership.
It's thought Kim will lay out his vision for how to further cement his powerbase and accelerate
his idolization process.
"Seoul's unification ministry, however, says history shows North Korea hasn't always stuck
to the vows that are made in the New Year's speech... when it comes to inter-Korean relations
and its nuclear weapons development,... calling most parts of the address propaganda.

Independent counsel team questions key figures in scandal probe - Duration: 1:50.Meanwhile, the independent counsel dedicated to the Choi Soon-sil case speeds up its probe
into that scandal.
The team also questioned a number of key figures to expeditiously uncover the truth.
Hwang Hojun has the updates.
Three days after he was questioned for the first time,... former senior presidential
secretary for policy coordination Ahn Jong-beom was once again questioned by the independent
counsel team on Friday afternoon.
The team suspects Ahn -- who kept detailed notes of Park's directives -- would also
have included an account of Samsung's one-point-three million U.S. dollar donation to the Korea
Winter Sports Elite Center, a foundation controlled by Chang Si-ho, the niece of Choi Soon-sil.
The team is also questioning Chang and Deputy Vice Culture Minister Kim Chong about the
same matter to determine whether the nature of the relationship between the tech giant
and the foundation.
During a briefing by the independent counsel team on Friday, spokesperson Lee Kyu-chul
said the team has acquired the necessary information for its investigation into the college admission
of Choi Soon-sil's daughter Chung Yoo-ra... after raiding the home and offices of Chung's
former chancellor and professor as well as the Korea Equestrian Federation.
Choi is also suspected of using her influence to win special treatment for her daughter
at school.
Lee also refuted comments from President Park's legal team implying the independent counsel
team's investigation is biased.
"I'm not sure on what basis the claim that the team lacks political impartiality was
made, but we don't have anything specific to say about that."
The team's investigation has now continued for almost a full month, including the 20
days of preparations guaranteed by law.
"The independent counsel team now has 60 days to go in its investigation, which has an optional
30-day extension, and it's likely to take on an added urgency with the impeachment trial
set to begin in the first week of the new year.
Hwang Hojun, Arirang News."

Floor leaders of four main parties vow cooperative politics in 2017 - Duration: 2:34.The floor leaders of the four main parties held their first ever meeting together.
A most promising start with all vowing to fully cooperate in the running of state affairs
in the upcoming year.
Park Ji-won has more from that maiden gathering.
The floor leaders of all four political parties gathered Friday morning... for a meeting chaired
by National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun.
Except for main opposition Democratic Party floor leader Woo Sang-ho,... the other three
-- Chung Woo-taik of the Saenuri Party,... Joo Ho-young of the tentatively named New
Conservative Party for Reform... and Joo Seung-yong of the People's Party -- are fairly new to
the job.
In their first meeting as floor leaders, they shared their particular hopes for the assembly
in the year to come.
"In the new year, our party will fully cooperate on matters related to the people's livelihoods.
We also hope to accelerate the discussions on revising the Constitution, to improve people's
lives."
"The 13th National Assembly also had a four-party system, and their bill-passage rate exceeded
80 percent, higher than other assemblies.
I hope this parliament will also be able to pass many bills benefiting the public."
"I hope the new floor leaders of the four parties run a joint policy discussion body
with the government."
"With the launch of the special committee on constitutional revision, we need to discuss
how to rectify the nation's wrecked system."
"The four floor leaders also agreed to hold an extraordinary parliamentary session next
month,... in addition to a planned session in February,... to address the vacuum in state
affairs."
Meanwhile,... the ruling Saenuri Party's interim leader In Myung-jin said Friday that the core
of his efforts to overhaul the party lie in a personnel shake-up.
Specifically, he said former party leaders, and those who assumed key roles in the Park
administration, all bear great responsibility for failing the president.
YTN "Isn't it true that those who assumed the
role of party chair, and those who served in key government posts failed to assist the
president?"
In said those responsible should leave the party by next Friday, adding that he will
make the names of those who are leaving public the following Sunday, January 8th.
He added that he would decide his position by then,... indicating that he could resign
from his post if his plan of expelling the others fails.
Park Ji-won, Arirang News."
