Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera | FAQ Video - Duration: 31:02.
Hello again! Izzy at Digital Goja
showrooms. I searched Amazon, E-Bay, Google,
our customer service questions, about
what are the most frequently asked
questions about the new Olympus E-MD
Mark II. I'd like to share them with you.
Now, the way I'm going to do this is
we're going to split this up into two
videos the first section will be
beginner questions about the OM-D E-M1 Mark II
and the second part will be
advanced questions. If this video helps
you, as always remember to subscribe to
our Channel and hit me up with a like
button and don't forget when in Miami
visit me at Digital Goja showroom.
Alrighty, so like I said we've waited a
long time for this
almost four years and you know there's
been all sorts of info put on the web...
you know now we're going to take a look
at what it actually comes with.
Here of course first of all is your warranty card.
This is good in the US and if it is
purchased from an authorized dealer like
Digital Goja and then this part seems
to have something in it.. lets take a look.
Oh yeah, this this is heavy.
They obviously put something in here.
Oh, yup, here is an actual instruction
booklet, like how many of us are going to go
through that, and an Olympus digital
camera pamphlet brochure... interesting.
In here... here we go, USB 3.0 you have to
considering the files that is going to
do now remember this is now a 20.4 MP,
Live MOS sensor with 4K
video so it's a USB 3.0 USB-C good job
Olympus, you went with the newer
technology on that. It makes life simpler.
We'll have to check later on and see if
it does allow some kind of external
power supply. Here is your power cable
for your wall charger and again they're
going to complain oh yup, they've done
it for many years if you want there are
some third party adapters where you can
put this right into the wall but it is
universal voltage from 100-240 volts
and that's to work with their
brand-new battery here it is, the new BLH1
which is 1,720 milliamps. Alright well this
is the velourish case like i like to call it.
This is the one that you're going to
use for your FL LM 3 which is very popular
Olympus has been providing this for many
years now this is the best way to get a
flash on to your Olympus OM-D camera is
with this portable one which actually
works off of the power source in your camera.
This is a bracket so that your USB 3.0
maintains a constant connection and that
you don't have any kind of external
issues with pulling on the cable when
you're downloading.. very nice and here is
your standard Olympus camera strap and
of course, last but definitely not least,
(get this out of the way) wow, very
nicely packaged... yup!, there it is your
brand new Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark II.
Now let's take a closer look...
notice how they made it a tad larger
than the original Olympus OM-D EM1 but
I love this grip this is really great
because this is now going to allow a
sports & wildlife photographers to work
with the larger lenses like of course
that beautiful 300mm f4 and it'll
worked great in the hand and of course
don't forget that new 12-100. Notice
how you still have your separate dials
for aperture and shutter speed, you have
your function buttons they're all laced
throughout where you want to use a
function 1 or function 2, plus notice on
the dial where there were a lot of
rumors all they got rid of the custom
dials no they didn't you have up to
three custom settings and you still have
your PASM and they put your art filter
right on top here with of course your
video which remember now we're dealing
with 4K ultra high-definition and this is
at 30 fps or 24 fps.
Of course, your body still has the
5-axis image stabilization which
allows you to work with five-and-a-half
stops difference when it comes to your
actual shooting speed but this is great
because when you combine it with some of
these new lenses like
before mentioned 300mm or 12-100,
you now work with the lens and the
body as far as image stabilization so
that gives you up to six and a half
stops and the added benefit of a swivel
screen this is something that we all asked
for an Olympus, you know they listened
to us they actually went ahead and gave
us a 3-inch 1.04 million dot vari-angle
touchscreen and this allows you to touch
screen for focusing and even for
shooting parameters. Of course you still
have your electronic viewfinder and
your hot-shoe which allows you to work
with the many different flashes that are
out there and on the left over here you
have your HDR your focus buttons you
even have something that a lot of us
that has disappeared forever and here it is
so that you can put your pc connection for a
strobe so if you're working with some of
the studio lights there's your pc
connection for it
so.. wow incredible and of course since
it's very video centric you have your
microphone input and you have a
headphone monitor Jack so you have
everything you need to make this work
for video production.
Plus of course you now have dual SD
card slots and slot one works with UHS-II
and slot two works with UHS-1, so yes
you can't have both of them in the high
rate of speed but that's great because
that's going to allow us to work for the
4K video that this guy is going to allow
us to do. So there you have it! A closer
look at the Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II
body remember completely weather-sealed
they did not skimp on anything you can
actually see the weather sealing all
throughout.. dust proof it's a very
well-put-together system with the dual
fast 121 point auto-focus 15 fps
expanded ISO all the way up to
25,600 ISO and your electronic
viewfinder has been upgraded to 2.36 dots,
so if you are in the market for pretty much
the leading micro four third body at the
moment you definitely have to take a
closer look at the OM-D EM-1 Mark II.
Let's get started with the most asked
questions about the Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II
for beginning users.
What lenses can I use with my Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II?
Well, of course it still is a micro four thirds
camera.. it's a little bit beefier but there's a
reason for that they are jumping into
much larger lenses i'll have a perfect
example right here... this is the new 12-100mm f4.
This is the new 12-100mm f4.
This lens was honestly
created i think with this camera in mind
because now this is one of the new pro
series that has the image stabilization
so in combination with this camera you
now have up to six and a half stops and
stabilization that's very popular lens
you also have something like this like
the new 30mm macro again a very
popular lens in micro four-thirds mount
that will work perfectly on the Olympus
and you even have third-party lenses
like the new Sigma 30mm 1.4 and
notice there's a designation that states
that it is in a micro four-thirds mount
so that allows you to easily connect it
to your OM-D EM1 Mark II and then you
have the capability of having it focus
right away even in low contrast shooting
like my Digital Goja showroom at the
moment allows it to still work perfectly
so there you have it many different
options available as lenses for your
Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark II.
What kind of memory cards can I work
with this camera
well of course it is ST XE that means
extra capacity so you can work with
these huge 128 Gig
cards but remember this one also has the
capability of working with UHS version 2
cards on the first lot and then the
standard UHS version one on the bottom
slot so this one right here which is
UHS-II will work perfectly on the top slot
and also remember you can work with two
cards at the same time there's no need to
jump into these huge cards but of course
if you are doing video and it's the
ultra HD video like the OM-D EM-1 to
allows you to record in of course you're
going to have the capability of working
with these larger cards that's going to
be a very important feature to be able
to record the time and the raw files
that are needed to do great
ultra high-definition video. So again use
UHS-II cards or UHS-I cards.
Is it the same screen size as my original OM-D EM-1?
Yes it is, they went with the standard
3 inch screen and of course now you do
have the swivel capability where this
guy can swing out and you can even close
it up if you choose to but if you have
screen protectors or hoods or magnifying
devices for the original one, which I
have here, it is the same screen size so
you won't have to worry about purchasing
any additional screen protectors or
hoods and so forth because you'll be
able to use the same one if you upgrade
to the new on the OM-D EM-1 version.
That's one of the features that they
added on here is the articulating screen
a lot of us were asking for it and
Olympus came through
I mean on the Olympus version 1 of the
OM-D EM-1.
I mean it wasn't bad but it only angles
like so and a lot of us videographers
which is the main reason why i think
this camera was brought into the market
prefer the swivel screen so if you are
upgrading you're going to love the fact
that you now have a fully articulating
screen and it's even going to work for
you selfie users out there because
you'll be able to do this number and
still work with it.
Does it have a headphone monitor Jack?
Yes, again this is Olympus listening to what us users
want there is the port completely sealed
because remember this is a weather sealed
system so we pop that open and it's the
standard 3.5 plug so you have your
standard 3.5 plug from your headphone
plugs in like so and now you have the
capability of monitoring your audio as
you do your recording for your video.
Can I use an external microphone?
I highly recommend it especially now that
we're going to be doing some really good
video with the OM-D EM-1 Mark II, here is
your microphone port standard 3.5 jack
so you can connect your favorite
condenser microphone or lavalier
whatever you choose to work with and
again you have full audio recording
which will obviously be much better than
if you work with internal microphones.
What is the highest ISO i can set on here.
Well, let's activate our super menu and
notice how we have the ISO setting here
click on it and I was set to auto don't
recommend that but everybody has a
choice and then you can go ahead and
using the toggle wheel i'm going to keep
higher, I mean we're already past 10,000
12,000 it's on your right now that it's
doing an extension to get into these
super is sells makes it all the way up
to 25,600 I so so if you need to work an
extremely low light there you have it
you can set it all the way up to 25,600
ISO for stills.
Does the camera have auto scene selection?
No it really does not i mean
if you want to work on auto you can
switch it to intelligent auto and then
the camera is going to pick what type of
exposure it suggests for the imaging
that you're doing currently but honestly
this is a pro / prosumer camera so you
want to work with either program
aperture priority shutter priority or
manual you really don't want to let the
camera try to figure out what kind of
imaging you want to do.
Can I do sports or action photography
with the OM-D EM-1 Mark II?
Wow, absolutely i think that's the main
reason why this camera was implemented
so let's take it off a program let's go
to shutter priority because you're
interested in just picking the really
fast shutter speed so let's turn it on
and let's activate our super menu first
you know you said your eyes so pick one
accordingly depending on the type of
lens you're working with then we're
going to go ahead and switch are
shooting mode to high speed sequential
so that way you have the highest frame
rate of shooting and now let's go into
our focus points hit that again scroll
up again remember you have a touchscreen
i'm just really bad about remembering
that click on it now we want to switch
it from single AF to continuous AF this
is the one that's going to allow you to
shoot at the maximum focusing capability
of the new OM-D EM-1 Mark II.. listen
to that baby go.
Yeah, definitely can stop action whether
it's sports or running children or
running pets.
Let's get started with the most asked
questions about the Olympus OM-D EM-1
Mark II for advanced users.
How does this compare to the Panasonic GH4 which for
the longest time has been the leader in
the industry for video recording.
Well, I think this is one of the main
reasons why Olympus came out with the
OM-D EM-1 Mark II is to compete in the
video realm this guy does DCI video at
237 megabit per second compared to the
Panasonic which is 100 megabit per second.
Now of course, this is recording
internally to the as SD XC UHS-II series
card it's a different ball of wax if we're
recording externally to external
recorders like Atomos and so forth.
You also have the newer technology with
their new true pic virgin eight dual
quad-core processor on here and also
their new sensor from Sony the
20.4 MP Live MOS so if you are in
the market to do some great video with
micro four-thirds, this is the camera to
beat now, the OM-D EM-1 Mark II.
What is the max bit rate for HDMI-Out?
Well that really depends on the recorder
that you're using but remember it's
going to be uncompressed and you're
going to be able to record on Apple
Pro Res on Avid DNX HD. You're going to
lose your trying restrictions because
now you'll be able to record to an SSD
Drive and of course you have more video
control on your exposure including even
false color so if you are going to be
doing some pro ultra HD video i would
highly recommend using an external
recorder.
Can i record my video at a 120 fps for
a higher bit rate and also to be able to
do slow-motion?
No, it does it has 60 but i'll show you in the menu...
go into your video mode menu and go into
specification settings and then move it
to the right and notice how i can go
ahead and I can shoot a 60 fps
on fine which is 30 MB per
second or superfine which is 52 MB
per second so it has less compression so
that way you can still do fast video and
played in slow motion and maintain your
video quality much better than if you
are shooting and some of the other
cameras that lower it substantially when
you shoot at a hundred and twenty frames
per second.
How do i get GPS info
well it doesn't have it built in but the
beauty of Olympus with their smart
camera app is that you can download the
Olympus share this is called the Olympus
Image Share App and notice that you can
add geo-tag to your images that you
record when you transfer it with the
Olympus image share app so that way you
can do your GPS coordinates on your
imaging using their particular app and
it makes life so much easier that way
does it allow external USB charging I
know that's become really popular
because that way you would be able to
connect a portable power source to it
and it's a shame because it actually
does have the newest USB connection
which is a USBC to USB 3.0 but no it does
not it does not allow you to charge
through USB you do have to use the
separate charger and battery to be able
to power your Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II.
Does it allow me to bracket and how
does it do
bracketing? Well it again comes with a
full menu
turn the camera on and you want to make
sure you're within the M, S, A, P not going
to do this very well in intelligent auto
we're going to hit our menu button and
then we're going to go to the second
camera menu and notice how the first
folder says bracketing move that over on
I keep forgetting that you can do it
with a touchscreen also and then I can
set my exposure bracketing up to three
frames and i can pick the amount of
frames and the amount of exposure value
not sorry
seven frames so yes you can do some
serious exposure bracketing on there you
have white balance
you have flash bracketing..
ISO bracketing up to three stops..
Art bracketing so you can bracket the
different types of art filters and there
they are and you can actually activate
it or deactivate the particular art
filter that you want and focus
bracketing which wow this is the one
that we've been waiting for so that
allows you to pick the number of shots
and even the focusing differential where
you want a wider or narrower shot.
They say that this model allows you to do in
camera focus stacking. Yes it does and
again a wonderful feature that we've
been waiting for and thank you Olympus
for listening to us..
you're going to have to go again work
with manual so you can activate all of
your menu options going to go into
shooting menu to which is a little
camera with the two on it we're going to
go into bracketing activate that and
then we're going to go all the way down
to focus bracketing you want to activate
that and there is your first setting for
focus stacking and that way like it
states on there, it allows you to take
multiple shots where your focus points
are moved further back every shot and
then the images are not stacked but when
you turn it on this way it does allow
you to now slightly forward and backward
from the initial point and then the
images are stacked so this way it does
it in camera and you can be real precise
and how many shots you want to do this
notice that you can change the focusing
points to either a wider perspective or
a more narrow one and this makes your
life so much easier when you're going to
be doing some great macro photography
with your OM-D EM-1 Mark II.
Are the dual card slots UHS-II?
No they are not the first one is UHS variant to
and the secondary one is UHS-I.. I mean
you can put a UHS-II card in here but
it's actually going to slow it down so
you want to make sure you use the UHS-II
on the primary slot and then the other
ones on the secondary slot that way
maintain the proper speed.
Is it completely weather-sealed? Absolutely.
that's another one of the features that
they wanted to add to their new lineup
so you have weather sealing all around
here notice you have freezeproof
dustproof just feels great in the hand
and of course the weather sealing on the
lens is going to be very important if
you have a weather seal lens this one
does not have weather sealing on the
lens but if you bring out the new 12-100mm
that one does have
weather sealing because that's one of
their pro series so but take into
consideration this camera is meant to
take anything you throw at it it's
dustproof heat-resistant freezeproof
weather-sealed.. remember this can't go underwater
there's not an iphone 7 so that doesn't
have ip67 or anything like that you
don't want to go swimming with it but
all-in-all you can be in harsh
environments and it won't let you down.
How good is a continuous autofocus on
the OM-D EM-1 Mark II?
Yep, this is the reason this camera exists..
Olympus made sure that the focusing
system in this camera is on par with
today's full-frame fast DSLRs but you
have to set it up first
obviously you want to be in shutter
priority at the minimum you never want
to be an aperture priority or program or
intelligent auto maybe manual but here
I'm interested in the faster shutter
speed so let's activate the camera and
let's go into our super menu first I
want to set it to sequential Oh honestly
that works very fine
I mean to me eight to 10 frames per
second is more than adequate then we're
going to switch it over to face I
priority on notice how that's indicated
and we're going to switch it to the
first point right here single point in
the middle and we're now going to set it
at a faster shutter speed I pretty much
chose one for under the second but
notice what happens with the shots that
Adam did here just a little second ago
in the Digital Goja showroom. I'm going to
hold the toggle down so you can see all
the sequence and it will actually go
through the entire sequence
it's actually a silent movie
look at that that is incredible and I
tried to move enough so that it wouldn't
be able to track me and it kept me and
focus and every single frame so
absolutely if you want to do continuous
autofocus with your micro four-thirds
this is the camera to beat.
How many frames per second can I doing
RAW?
Well, that's another one of the wonderful
features of this camera
you absolutely can shoot in raw in
continuous focusing which is the
continuous autofocus with tracking so we
can go ahead here and you can set it to
face priority of you choose to and then
we can go here and set it to RAW..
and
we can switch it to sequential high and
set it to a single point so again 18
frames per second and continuous
auto-focusing with tracking.
How many focusing points does it have?
It has one hundred and twenty-one focusing points
and you can activate them by going into
the super menu you i like the field and
there you go you have a hundred and
twenty-one focusing points to work with
awesome.
Can i use focus peaking? absolutely that's one of the pleasures
of micro four-thirds that's been very
popular due to the fact that we have so
many manual lenses for so we're going to
click on menu custom menu and we're
going to scroll over to A3 move over to
where it says manual focus assist click
on that and there's focus peaking and
when you click on it that activates the
focus peaking capability on your Olympus
OM-D EM-1 Mark II.
Can I change the colors when i'm doing focus peaking?
Absolutely, going to the menu again and
now we're going to go into the custom
settings menu and we're going to go to
the D section III there's you're peeking
settings and not peaking duck so we can
start out with red black white yellow
and you can also check the highlight
intensity where you want normal or high
or low and you can even adjust the image
brightness which will adjust the
brightness to enhance the highlight
visibility when you're on live view
so there you have it a lot of control
for your focus peaking.
Can i magnify the image when i'm focusing on manual?
of course again lots of capabilities in
this camera.. hit menu
we're going to go into the custom
settings scroll down to A3
go to manual focus assist there's
magnify scroll to the right move up and
then select on to automatically magnify
the image when the focus ring is rotated
in manual focus mode makes life so much
easier.
Does it record a timecode stamp for
your video?
Yes it does, again this is a very video
centric camera and notice it right there
on the Left there's your time code stamp
so that's going to make it much easier
for a professional video production with
the OM-D EM-1 Mark II.
Well, I hope you liked this video on the Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II
and that you found it
helpful. Please also share it with fellow
photographers and videographers and if
you have further questions
don't forget to put them in the comments
section below. Happy shooting!

(ENG SUBS) E. Basurin's war between Ukraine & the DPR year end synopsis of the - Duration: 7:41.
Today briefing will be unusual
in a sense that on Friday we normally summarize the week.
That's why this is the end of the year I will try to cover the whole year
more detailed numbers that happened during the last 2016 year
For the last year
army of the Donetsk People's Republic
significantly raised the level of the combat readiness of their units
accomplishing tank biathlon, brigade tactical training
forcing of water barriers
and landing of marines
This is only some examples of the improvement of mastery and the level of the preparedness of the soldiers of the army of DPR
Situation on the front line of DPR remained to be difficult
During the year representatives of the OSCE everyday noticed the absence of the heavy artillery of the armed forces of Ukraine in the reserved for storage places
That is an evidence of the active using of it by Ukrainian commandment against the civilians of the Donbass
During the period from january to december 2016
the quantity of the violations of the regime of cease-fire was 143613 times
including from heavy artillery 78223 times
Total mass of the issued ammunition on the republic territory is 2000 tons
There was destroyed and damaged 820 homes and objects of infrastructure of the republic
Many times essential for survival objects were attacked with artillery and mortar
and also maintenance crews
that went to repair the damage
There were facts of wounds of repair people
Target designation and correctness of the attack of the artillery and mortar was made with the help of drones
including 'ydarnye' (military helicopters) supplied by helpers of the terrorists so-called volunteers
Forces and means of the enemy concentrated in the zone of the conflict according to the status on december 2016 include
personnel is 32438 people
213 units of tanks
351 units of artillery machines of 152mm and 122mm caliber
198 units of mortars of 82mm and 120mm
84 units of BM-30 Smerch
1154 units of armored combat vehicles
Military commandment of the Ukraine didn't leave an attempt to destabilize the political environment of Donbass
besides the agreeements of armistice
and even after mutual agreements of armistice Ukrainian side continued to increase shelling of the territory of DPR
During the year we fixed over 100 provocations
accomplished by Ukrainian army along the front line
connected with an attempt to break our positions
the biggest number of such kind of provocations happened in the fourth quarter of 2016
after directions of the minister of The Ministry of Internal Affairs - Avakova,
secretary of the National Security and Defense Council - Turchinova,
subunits of the National guard decision to solve the conflict by armed conquer of Donbass
and besides directions to the Ukrainian forces
by many foreign countries
with aid of lethal weapons and other material things
all attempts to seize our positions failed
and lead to enormous losses among soldiers and technical means of the Ukrainian army
extreme case of such attempt happened on 28 december in the area of the locality Kruta Balka
where because of the senseless and criminal actions of the Ukrainian commandment
died 3 and wounded 4 soldiers of the Ukrainian army
According to the official data The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine during 2016 year
losses of the Ukraninan army were 214 dead and 1324 wounded
However, knowing about leaning of Ukrainian military commandment to falsification and hiding information about losses
from society
we can only assume
about the real numbers of dead and wounded
According to the information from Ukrainian volunteer organizations and medical personnel of the major hospitals in ATO zone
and in the rear
quantity of dead were about 600 people and over 2000 wounded
passed year is characterized by a new tactic of warfare of Ukranian army, i.e.
seizing of settlements in so-called gray zone
that is the roughest violation of the Minsk peace agreements
With such actions they follow several goals
First of all, seizing the settlements by Ukrainian side is declared as another victory over the enemy
not taking in consideration the fact that there was no armed forces of DPR
Thus, in Ukrainian society is constructed an illusion of success of the Ukrainian army in the ATO zone
Second, distance between our positions and positions of the Ukrainian army is decreasing
that allows Ukrainian side to more actively accomplish armed provocations against armed forces of DPR
but all attempts of Ukrainian commandment to make better image of Ukrainian army fail
Instead of professional army there was created recruited army of Poroshenko
Mobilized, even with experience of war, worse soldiers than regular military
also there are a lot of criminal elements among them
alcoholics, disabled who only distract those who can do their job in a proper way
Bet on the volunteer army lead to
that those 'dabrabaty' (volunteers)
from time to time lose control and become headache both for commandment and civilians
We notice...
We notice the increased number of serious crimes by Ukrainian soldiers against civilians
looting, robbery, and even murder that happened on checkpoint Mayorsk on 14 december
they have become regular things happening on the territory controlled by Ukraine
that also doesn't add prestige and support of Ukrainian army among the civilians
From the beginning of 2016 in DPR Ukrainian soldiers killed
314 people including 3 children
Wounds of different degree of severity got 406 people including 16 children
323 men and 83 women
Thus, military-political situation in 2016 was characterized as difficult and tense
Ukrainian side still doesn't leave an attempt to destabilize the situation on Donbass and to solve conflict in armed way
which people's army will violently oppress
In the next year systematic work of training of the armed forces will continue
that is absolutely necessary
because Ukrainian side is not ready to follow peaceful agreement
until we have such situation
army of DPR will increase its power and defend the peace of people

What on Earth is this Mysterious 14 mile structure 'buried' in A - Duration: 2:59.
What on Earth is this?
Mysterious 14 mile structure 'buried' in Antarctica found on Google.
By ROB VIRTUE.
Spotted on the Google Earth map, the white blur deep in the barren continent has provoked
speculation it could be a secret research station hidden by a government or a UFO buried
in the ice.
YouTube user Wowforreel has highlighted it in a video and shows how you can find it yourself
on the web app Google Earth.
Describing the visual as a "patchy mass", he says: "Antarctica is crawling with weirdness."
He then points to the giant 14.5 miles by 4.5 miles area of bright white saying: "This
thing is so huge you can't miss it - not even from outer space.
"I've searched the entire continent and I couldn't find anything quite like it.
"I thought maybe there's a peculiar place in the images where there happens to be a
gap, but I don't think that's the case."
He points out brush-type movements over the mass which he says suggests someone is trying
to cover something up.
He ponders if it is a research station before adding: "If this masking was removed would
we seen the deck of a giant UFO mothership buried in ice?"
The video was put online in 2012 but a constant flow of comments continue as intrigued viewers
try to figure out what it is.
One of them, Julie Haines said: "Have you noticed that there seems to be a trail behind
said rectangular shape?
Like its been dragged."
David Darby added: "You're correct, and it's well over 111 miles long to the left."
Bret Hines wrote: "Wow two years and it's still there.
They are covering something up with this thing."
Bonnie, said: "It's a government facility.
They are allowed to request Google blur out things like this.
"It's probably a research facility."
The staggering video of the mysterious structure has been viewed more than two million times
on YouTube.

Record-Breaking Space Discoveries of 2016! - Duration: 4:35.
2016 is almost over, and I don't think any of us are going to miss it, but for the last
year astronomers have been working hard to catch up on what happened in the universe
during the almost 13.8 billion years we weren't around for.
And they've made some record-breaking discoveries along the way, including some of the farthest,
faintest, and youngest objects in the universe.
Back in March, astronomers working with the Hubble Space Telescope reported that they'd
spotted the farthest galaxy we've ever seen, in a study published in The Astrophysical
Journal.
The galaxy is called GN-z11, and it's at least 13.3 billion years old.
It's so old that in the billions of years the light from that galaxy has taken to get
to Earth, the universe has expanded to the point that the galaxy is actually 32 billion
light years away.
To measure its distance, the researchers calculated how the wavelength of the light from the galaxy
has shifted.
Since the galaxy is moving away from us, the wavelength of its light is shifted toward
the longer, redder side of the spectrum, in what's known as redshift.
Figuring out how much its light has been redshifted helps determine a galaxy's distance.
The previous record holder had a redshift of 8.68, but this galaxy has a redshift of
11.1.
For comparison, the first stars ever born — some of the most distant objects in the
universe — would have a redshift of around 20.
But when Hubble's more powerful successor, the James Webb Space Telescope, launches in
the fall of 2018, scientists should be able to detect galaxies with even higher redshifts
that are even farther away.
So hopefully GN-z11 won't be the record-holder for long.
But astronomers found more than just the farthest galaxy we've ever seen this year.
They also found the faintest satellite galaxy we've ever seen.
So far, astronomers have discovered around 50 satellite galaxies that orbit the Milky
Way.
And in November, in another study published in The Astrophysical Journal, researchers
announced that they'd found the dimmest one yet.
It's called Virgo I, and it has an absolute magnitude of -0.8.
Absolute magnitude is a measure of an object's brightness from around 33 light years away,
and the higher the number, the dimmer the object.
For comparison, the Andromeda Galaxy, the closest major galaxy to the Milky Way, has
an absolute magnitude of -20.9 — meaning that from 33 light years away, it would be
almost as bright as the Sun is from Earth.
Whereas Virgo I would be about as bright as some of the brightest stars in the night sky.
Virgo I was discovered using the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, which could spot the galaxy because
it has a larger lens and a larger field of view than other telescopes that have been
used to look for satellite galaxies before.
And its discovery is helping solve a problem: current theories about how the universe formed
predict that there should be a lot more satellite galaxies than we've seen.
But Virgo I's discovery might mean there are hundreds more faint satellite galaxies
out there, so astronomers might soon be finding more galactic neighbors.
In addition to some of the oldest things we've ever found, we've also found the youngest
exoplanet we have ever seen.
Welcome to the planetary family, K2-33b.
The discovery is super useful for astronomers trying to learn more about the life cycles
of planets.
Most exoplanets we've seen so far are at least a billion years old, which is middle-aged
by planetary standards.
But this new planet is just a baby: It's only 5 to 10 million years old.
The research took some of the best instruments we have, and the results were published in
the journal Nature in June.
First, NASA's Kepler space telescope recorded periodic dimming in the star K2-33, which
is around 473 light years from Earth in the constellation Scorpius.
Then, the W.M.
Keck Observatory in Hawaii confirmed the dimming was being caused by a planet.
Then NASA's Spitzer space telescope took more readings about the planet's neighborhood,
while data from Kepler was used to confirm its orbit, size, and mass.
So it was a team effort.
To find the age of the planet, researchers first used its parent star's density and
temperature to figure out the star's age.
They found that the star is between 5 and 10 million years old, and since stars come
before planets, the planet has to be in that range, too.
The baby exoplanet is about six times larger than Earth, and it orbits its star about every
five days.
And researchers hope studying this new planet and others like it will teach us more about
how planets form.

Reversing Prediabetes - Duration: 2:31.
(Music)
Announcer: Welcome to Your Health with Joan Lunden.
Presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Joan Lunden: Hi, I'm Joan Lunden.
Believe it or not, more than one in three people
in the US have pre-diabetes.
Even scarier, 90% of them don't know it.
And if all those people with pre-diabetes
don't do anything about it, 25% of all Americans
could have Type 2 diabetes by the year 2025.
Pre-diabetes can be reversed and you do not have to
live with the disease alone.
The CDC has created
the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
This program can help people with pre-diabetes significantly
lower their risk of ever developing Type 2 diabetes.
In fact, using the program's services
can actually help reduce your risk by 58%.
And if you're living with the disease,
the program can help you avoid some of
the serious complications associated with it.
What is so unique about the program
is the supportive community available to participants.
The program's lifestyle coaches help you
establish and maintain important lifestyle changes,
like healthy eating and increased physical activity,
as well as tips to keep you motivated and manage your stress
and the fellow participants share ideas
and they kind of help you keep on track.
Learn how you can be part of the program
by visiting cdc.gov/diabetesTV.
It can be daunting to change
your daily diet and exercise routine,
but it can also be life saving.
And who better to understand what you're going through
than others who are going through it too.
Have a question about your diet
or looking to change up your exercise routine?
Maybe feeling discouraged because you haven't seen
an immediate decrease in your blood sugar levels?
The support of the program could help you
through all of those challenges.
So many people have turned their health
around with this program.
It is an incredible resource.

12 Gods Of Destruction- Dragon Ball Super "Universal Survival Arc" - Duration: 11:06.
Next Arc Preview Summary-At Goku's request, the omni-kings' "Tournament of Power"
martial arts tournament between universe now begins!!
But this also proves the beginning of universal destruction.
What awaits the victors of the tournament, and the vanquished....?!
How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out???
The next arc of Dragon Ball Super is going to be bigger than anything we have ever seen
before!
We will get a massive multi universal survival tournament, involving all 12 existing Universes.
DBS has been building this up ever since the beginning.
The moment they mentioned there are 11 other Universes we all knew something like this
would eventually happen.
Except none of us imagined The Gods will decide to go so hardcore.
As the losing Universes will get destroyed, guys this is not a fun martial arts tournament
anymore.
The fighters will fight for their lives and most importantly existence of their Universes.
This tournament was first explicitly mentioned at the end of U6 vs U7 tournament by The Omni
King, but back then we had no idea about the consequences.
Looks like Goku will end up becoming one of the main reasons for the destruction of existence.
Toyotaro said that the manga will jump ahead of the anime in the next arc, we also recently
got the trailer of the next arc in Jump Fiesta.
The trailer was made manga styled even though it's for the anime, as the series is yet
to start producing it, and undoubtedly it's going to take a lot of effort as they are
must introduce a whole set of new characters.
Hell!
We are going to see 10 new Gods of destruction, imagine how hard it's going to be for them
to introduce so many new characters.
This arc has the potential to go down as one of the all time bests.
We have this picture of all the Gods of destruction along with their Kaioshin as pairs.
This looks like a snap from the anime, but it's a fanart.
Not a baseless fanart though, it's just a colored version of the Manga scan we saw
in the teaser or trailer of the ' Universal Survival Arc' made by Dicasty on Devianart.
Of course the original looks might differ as the colors were given according to the
artist's imagination.
The coloring is done well, but the choice of colors is a bit off.
I think this picture is better.
Basically, we have The God of destruction and creation side by side; as you know they
are really well connected.
To the point of one's life being linked to the other.
This shot from the trailer, doesn't reveal much.
Obviously we can identify Beerus and Champa but other than that nothing much.
We can see U7 and U6 kaioshins though.
Here's the green Kaioshin we saw earlier on in the U6 vs U7 tournament.
It's interesting to see all the Gods going formal.
It's like a God uniform, gives the tournament a grand vibe.
So, the Gods of destructions are wearing White cloaks while Kaioshins are wearing darker
probably black cloaks.
We see Champa and Beerus are brothers meaning of the same species, but what about the other
Gods?
The difference of shape is very apparent, I don't think all of them will have the
same tone as that of Beerus or Champa with only difference being their size and looks.
That would be super weird.
This giant one here caught everyone's attention!
Could this be?
Finally?
The Return of The Legendary Super Saiyan Broly?
Nope, JK.
But whatever that is, I have my hopes high as we don't see too many giant sized powerful
characters in DB specially these days.
So, I hope he would be a top tier God of Destruction in terms of power and strength.
Thanks to Goku, in this tournament we have 2 Omni King's, this is one thing that bothers
me.
Will it always stay this way?
2 Omni King does seem a lot weird.
Do you think there's a minute possibility that something might happen to one of the
Omni's?
And at the end we will have only 1 Omni King in this Original Timeline Multiverse?
Also, Whis explained how even the smallest of change due to time travelling can change
the course of history.
So, what about this one?
Omni King is like the biggest deal ever and he is here living in a place he wasn't supposed
to be in?
That's one of the many things I am looking forward to know about!
Okay, now let's take a look at our very own squad.
So, we have a 10 man team.
This is going to be interesting, it is hinted that the tournament will have team battles
instead of one on one.
That sounds quite reasonable given there are 12 Universes and if each Uni has 10 fighters
one on one would take forever to finish.
Given the number of fighters, I think 2 vs 2 or 5 vs 5 team battles would be perfect,
and at the same time would be very refreshing.
But then again who knows?
Toriyama might do something crazy and give us a 10 vs 10 battles.
We don't know for sure, but this could possibly be the stadium or stage for the tournament.
What will be the stipulations?
The team to get all fighters knocked out first loses?
Or do you think there could be an entirely different format.
Maybe like a Royal Rumble remember Bojack Unbound movie?
There's this pole in the middle what could that be for though?
Let me know your predictions and theories in the comment section.
Anyways, back to the U7 warrior squad, we have the obvious fighter that is everyone
that was selected for the last tournament- Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Majin Buu.
Then, the 2 biggest surprises Gohan and Android 17.
Gohan of course is in his ultimate form look, and it looks like he trained.
It will be interesting to see what motivates Gohan to change his track and fight in the
tournament.
The next arc will start on the manga first and then on the anime series.
That is we will have to wait till February.
Until, then we will have in between the arc types of episode that will build up for the
next arc.
In these episodes, they might highlight the story behind the Universe 7 team.
We might have a few episodes centered around Gohan, like the next Dragon Ball Super Episode
73 is going to feature Gohan.
There's going to be a Saiyyaman movie and Gohan will be around there as a stuntman.
I think it'll basically be a fun episode, but like this they might slowly move towards
a solid story.
As we know, the Multi-Universal tournament won't be a fun and chill stuff, as the losing
universes will be annihilated.
So, this might be the exact reason Gohan finally decides to fight as he h.as to save his loved
ones.
In fact the tile of ' Dragon Ball Super Episode 74 ' is- " For The Sake Of Who
He Loves ". Maybe that could be a Gohan episode; where we see him getting ready to
fight.
Anyways who do you think Gohan should train with?
Whis or Piccolo?
On the other hand, we haven't seen Android 17 after the Cell Saga.
He was shown in a well known fan series DBGT and had obtained a new form, but back to the
official story.
What do you think will be the story behind 17?
I think they should slip in at least 1 episode where they will find out 17 and we will get
some details about him.
It would be interesting to see how 18 and 17 interacts after all this time and in this
circumstances!
I'm extremely satisfied with the Human Z fighters being in the squad.
You all know just how much I love those classic fighters, and they didn't get spot light
in a long time.
So, them being in the tournament is one of the best decisions DBS has ever taken.
Many fans were saying it would be better if they took Goten and Trunks instead, but I
think that would ruin everything.
The 2 lead fighters are Saiyans.
Even in the last arc, all 3 of the fighters were Saiyans.
Why would you want more Saiyans?
That would be repetitive AF!
Now, this team has a lot of variation.
I understand different people have different taste, but I love the seriousness in Dragon
Ball.
Goten and Trunks doesn't looks nearly as serious as for example Tien.
Honestly, I just think Roshi, Tien and Krillin are better as characters than Goten and Trunks.
Also, Master Roshi is one guy who deserved to be in action even in Z.
He is only getting the respect he always deserved.
I am 100% happy to see Roshi in the squad, it's almost like the exact team I would
make if I were in charge.
To me variation is more important than raw power.
Well, that's about well!
Comment your theories and predictions about the next arc down below!
Note that, The Fan Guy is a bit sick so I just did this video for him.
See you in the next, Dragon Ball video!

Cigar 101: Cigar Anatomy and Sizing - Cigars International - Duration: 3:12.
Cigar 101: Cigar Anatomy and Sizing. A
cigar is made up of three parts: the head,
body, and the foot. The head is the end of
the cigar in which you smoke by cutting
off the cap or the "tip". The foot is the
end of the cigar in which you light. A
cigar is also comprised of three
components: the filler, the binder, and the
wrapper. The filler is the stuffing within
the cigar. There are two kinds of general
filler. Budget-friendly cigars contain
bits of tobacco leaf known as short
filler, which are crammed together and
shaped to fit a specific cigar size. In
the same way a hotdog contains leftover
bits, short filler cigars are made from
scraps of premium fillers or leaves that
don't have the proper aesthetics for
wrapper selection. Higher-end cigars use
long filler tobaccos. the two most
common long filler processes are called
accordion and entubado. A lot of hardcore
traditionalists use entubado. This is
where the inner leaves are rolled into a
tube and run the entire length of the
cigar. A cigar maker will blend different
filler leaves together to create unique
tastes and flavors much like a winemaker
crafts wine. Whether a cigar is made of
short or long filler tobacco's the
filler leaves are always secured within
a leaf called the binder, which sits just
beneath the wrapper. This tobacco
combination is called the bunch. The
tobacco is then put into wooden mold and
pressed into shape for about an hour.
Finally the roller then wraps the bunch
in a supple, very elastic and visibly
pleasing wrapper leaf. The cigar is then
capped and trimmed to uniform size. The
wrapper is the most important element of
the cigar as it not only gives the cigar
its appearance and smell but provides
much of the taste as well. Although
manufacturers have identified over a
hundred different shades of wrapper, only
six or of great distinction. Double Claro:
this is a green wrapper also known as a
Candela.
Claro: which is light tan in color almost
age usually referred to as Connecticut.
Colorado Claro: is medium brown in color
that is often referred to as "natural".
Colorado: this shade is instantly
recognizable by the obvious reddish tint.
Colorado Maduro: darker than colorado
claro and shade, this color is often
associated with African tobacco such as
Cameroon. Maduro: a wrapper that is
very dark brown almost black in color.
Now that we've got that all cleared up
let's talk about sizing. Properly
described, the shape of a cigar is
measured according to length and
diameter. The length of a cigar is
measured in inches but the diameter is
measured according to its ring gauge.
Ring gauge is a unit of measurement
divisible by 64. Most cigars have a ring
gauge of 64 or less.
There's no real trick to this, the ring
gauge system may appear confusing at
first but simply put, 64 is equal to 1
inch. Therefore a ring gauge of 48 would
be three quarters of an inch thick. So a
cigar described as 5 x 48 would be 5
inches in length and his three quarters
of an inch thick in diameter. And that
about cover Cigar Anatomy and Sizing. Be

Destiny 2016 Best Gun Awards! - Duration: 4:46.
Hi guardians!
2016 is coming to an end and thus it is time to give out some awards, in this video I will
be sharing with you the top 3 Best guns of 2016.
Before we start let me explain 3 simple rules that will be applicable for this year's
awards: The gun can be a primary, secondary or heavy
weapon.
We will be only covering legendaries and exotics The gun needs to be attainable for at least
a specific period in the year 2016.
Now we are clear about the rules let's first start with some honourable mentions.
The Sleeper Stimulant has been an under rated gun throughout 2016 until the wrath of the
machine came out where this gun found a place with its high dps potential.
Before the rise of iron Unfortunately this gun got over shadowed with guns like the black
spindle and touch of malice which were the more popular guns during the kings fall raid.
Because the gun was so underrated it earns an honorable mention
There was a huge hype when the imago loop came out as this was a replica of the most
favorite gun in year 1 the Fatebringer but then without the elemental damage.
In year 1 the fatebringer was a beast with firefly and outlaw which means it could wreck
a lot of enemies in no time.
However it is very hard to get the god roll Outlaw, rifled barrel and firefly roll on
the imago loop.
Since the chance of getting the perfect roll is so low it does not make it into the top
3 but it does deserve an honorable mention though.
The Palindrome also deserve an honorable mention due to the specific vendor roll with rifled
barrel and rangefinder.
Throughout the year a lot of people were in search of the excellent eyasluna, however
the drop rates are very low and when you get one the odds of having a good roll on it is
low as well.
Thus until the Palindrome got sold it was very hard to find a solid legendary hand cannon,
but with the introduction of rise of iron you can now get a decent hand cannon straight
from the vendor.
So those are my honorable mentions, now let me introduce my top 3 best guns of 2016.
And in the number 3 spot is the Clever Dragon.
I am mainly referring to the god roll perfect balance , snapshot, counterbalance Clever
Dragon that was sold in Iron Banner of November 2016.
This high firing pulse rifle archetype was highly sought after due to the popularity
of the Grasp of Malok, but like with the Imago Loop the drop rates were low and getting a
decent role was also hard as well.
This gun is stupidly good in crucible where every new player can use this gun due to the
relative easy to handle archetype compared with hand cannons which requires higher skill
levels.
After the Iron Banner you can see this gun now everywhere in the crucible and you should
get one as well when Iron banner is around if you haven't got one yet, because this gun
is really good.
As a result it deserve the number 3 spot.
On the number 2 spot we have the famous Gjallarhorn.
This gun does not need an introduction, it is great to see the Gjallarhorn back with
Rise of Iron, even though this is slightly nerfed, but Gjallahorn is still a fantastic
rocket launcher.
The gun does not requires a high skill level as it is just a shoot and forget weapon.
It is great against bosses and for dealing with big group of enemies.
The ease of use and the versatility of this weapon earns it the number two spot.
So the number one spot best gun of 2016 goes to the Hung Jury SR4 aka the PVE monster.
The vendor roll hung jury shreds in PVE and this was sold by dead orbit before the Rise
of Iron.
The Hung Jury had the perks Triple Tap, Extended Mag and Firefly.
This means that you could take care of large crowds of enemies with firefly and the combo
of triple tap and a larger magazine size means you could sustain large amount of damage without
the need to reload.
This was the go to primary gun for nightfalls and the king fall raid.
Before the Rise of Iron you hardly see any other Primary being used in PVE other than
the Hung Jury because it was so good in doing its job.
Even now I occasionally still see people using the Hung Jury in nightfall and raids which

Prediabetes…No One is Excused - Duration: 2:31.
(Music)
Announcer: Welcome to Your Health with Joan Lunden,
presented by the Centers for Disease Control and prevention.
Joan Lunden: Hi, I'm Joan Lunden.
86 million American adults have pre-diabetes,
90% of them don't know it.
Today I'm joined by Dr. Ann Albright,
director of the CDC's division of diabetes translation,
and by Dr. Virginia Martinez,
who actually had pre-diabetes,
went through the national diabetes prevention program,
and then went on
to become a lifestyle coach for the program.
And it's great to have you guys here.
Virginia Martinez: Thank you.
Joan Lunden: Ann, why don't you start by just talking
about why is screening for pre-diabetes
so incredibly important?
Ann Albright: Everyone should know where they stand
with pre-diabetes.
It's important to know it you have it.
doesn't matter who you are,
even doctors and health experts should know.
Joan Lunden: And you can certainly attest to that,
you got tested, found out you had pre-diabetes.
You made all the necessary changes.
Talk about what happens if people don't find out,
and it goes unchecked.
Virginia Martinez: Well they could end up with Type 2
diabetes, and suffer serious complications,
such as heart attacks, strokes,
kidney failure, amputations.
Joan Lunden: Why this program, why did you think
that this program would be the one that would work?
Virginia Martinez: This program is very simple,
and I'm able to translate this
to the community that I serve,
and I think that everybody should
bring it to their practices.
Joan Lunden: And also, you were able to take this
information, and figure out, when you're in a restaurant,
what to order, right?
Virginia Martinez: Exactly, I'm now able to explain to my
patients, and even to myself, what kind of food to eat,
and the portions, and the grams of fat,
and all these things that they need to know
so they could make the right changes.
Joan Lunden: It's such a serious disease,
you really have to get educated.
Thank you so much, great story.
By the year 2050 though, one in every three Americans
could have diabetes if we don't start making
some serious lifestyle changes.
I mean, this would be the most serious epidemic
ever to face this country.
Ask your doctor about getting your blood sugar tested,
and if you have pre-diabetes, participate in the CDC-led
national diabetes prevention program.

Bonjour mes amis, bienvenue à French Speak. Aujourd'hui on va visiter Èze malgrè la pluie. On y va!
One of the things that you will love about Èze is the
the streets are amazingly pretty.
They are narrow streets, there's no way a car can pass through,
but it is something super special of Èze and super pretty too.
The Jardin Exotique d'Èze is well know for its collection of cactus and the panoramic views.
And of course as every city or little town you are able to find restaurants, hotels,
but especially what you're going to find the most are
Fun fact, the city of Èze was created
Fun fact number two: Walt Disney spent a lot of time in the little village of Èze.
Apart from the Jardin Exotique d'Èze one of the main atractions is the Chapelle de la Saint Croix.
You can see an extraordinary view of the village and its landscapes.
You'll find the souvenir store

Bernie Sanders Update: War At DNC About Bernie Sanders, Trump Is Having Fan! - Duration: 4:10.
Bernie Sanders Update: War At DNC About Bernie Sanders, Trump Is Having Fan!
Trump is having fun these days, Obama and Kerry are being ruined by whole world about
their attack on Israel, and now, DNC is at war because of Bernie Sanders!
Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison hadn't been campaigning for chair of the Democratic National
Committee for more than a week before veteran party officials began publicly saying he wouldn't
have time to both hold the position and serve as a congressman.
Ellison then announced that he'd step down from congress if he won the DNC race.
But almost as soon as he did so, a new chorus of objections to his candidacy began: top
Democratic sources told reporters they were growing concerned about Ellison's alleged
ties to the Nation of Islam and radical black Muslim organizers in the 1990s.
To Ellison's supporters — largely from the Bernie Sanders wing of the party — these
attacks looked like ugly smears cynically deployed to derail their candidate.
But they've also made Ellison's backers feel like they're shadow-boxing an elusive
foe — that his opponents were throwing up objections in bad faith rather than plainly
identifying their problem with his beliefs or proposed platform for the party.
Their frustrations are well-founded.
The 2016 Democratic primary between Sanders and Hillary Clinton saw major substantive
divides; there were huge and obvious gaps between the candidates over taxes, foreign
policy, healthcare, and a host of other critical policy issues.
The race for DNC chair, by contrast, has become largely a power struggle between factions
— but one lacking a clear contrast of ideas.
Many Democrats skeptical of Sanders have rallied behind Tom Perez, one of the most progressive
members of the Obama cabinet.
Making Perez the alternative to Ellison may be intended as an olive branch to grassroots
progressives.
But it could also backfire badly, by exacerbating Sanders' allies distrust of a party that
needs their support now more than ever.
This is the biggest present to Trump!
He needs week DNC so that he can go forward with his agenda – Make America Great Again!
Now is the best time for working for better America!
Democrats are on their kneels!
