Charles Whitman: Strangest Medical Conditions - Duration: 4:40.Welcome back strangers.
We have all felt like we are not ourselves.
Whether we were sick, depressed, or just under a lot of stress, but what happens when that
feeling doesn't go away?
Can it make it feel like something else is inside you, or in your head making you think
or do terrible things?
In1966, Charles Whitman knew something was wrong with him.
He complained of headaches, violent outbursts, and intrusive thoughts in the weeks leading
up to his mass shooting and suicide.
His suicide note read, "I do not really understand myself these days.
I am supposed to be an average reasonable and intelligent young man.
However, lately (I cannot recall when it started) I have been a victim of many unusual and irrational
thoughts.
After my death I wish that an autopsy would be performed on me to see if there is any
visible physical disorder" Whitman was a former Eagle Scout, Marine,
and an expert marksman.
He was discharged from the marines in 1963 and returned to the University of Texas to
study architecture in 1965.
He began to suffer serious mental problems after his mother finally left his abusive
father in March of 1966.
On March 29, he told his psychiatrist that he was having uncontrollable fits of rage.
He even stated that he had thoughts of going up the university tower with a rifle to shoot
anyone he saw in his sight.
However, the doctor did not believe these threats should to be taken seriously and did
nothing prevent Whitman from acting out his violent fantasy.
On the evening of July 31, Whitman arrived at his mother's home.
He rendered her unconscious, stabbed her in the heart, and shot her.
He left the note beside the body that read, "To Whom It May Concern: I have just taken
my mother's life.
I am very upset over having done it.
However, I feel that if there is a heaven she is there now.
I am truly sorry.
Let there be not doubt in your mind that I loved this woman with all my heart."
Whitman returned home and waited for his wife to go to sleep.
He then stabbed her three times in the heart.
He typed a note before her death that said, "I love her dearly.
I cannot rationally pinpoint any specific reason for doing this."
His entry in his journal read, "8-1-66.

Both dead."
It continued to say, "If my life insurance policy is valid, please pay off my debts,
donate the rest anonymously to a mental health foundation.
Maybe the research can prevent further tragedies of this type.
The next day, he entered the elevator of the University of Texas Tower and travelled up
to the observation deck.
He brought an assortment of weapons and supplies that he had bought and stockpiled in a rental
truck earlier that morning.
Once he reached the top deck, he began shooting every person he saw below.
The rampage lasted a little over an hour and a half.
Whitman shot most of his victims near or in the heart.
He murdered 14 people and wounded 31 others before being shot and killed by two heroic
police officers.
The autopsy that Wittman wanted was performed and a "pecan sized" brain tumor was discovered.
A neuropathologist at Austin State Hospital conducted the autopsy and concluded that the
tumor had no effect on Whitman's actions.
However, Texas Governor John Connally commissioned a special task force of neurosurgeons, psychiatrists,
pathologists, and psychologists to reexamine the autopsy findings to determine if the tumor
had any relation to Whitman's motives and actions.
The Connally Commission concluded that, "The relationship between the brain tumor and Charles
Whitman's actions on the last day of his life cannot be established with clarity."
Modern forensic investigators have theorized that the tumor caused pressure against Whitman's
amygdala, a part of the brain related to anxiety and the fight-or-flight responses effecting
his mental state.
However, many experts are still in disagreement of what role, if any, the tumor played on
Whitman's horrendous actions that day.

But several mammals, including our close relatives like chimpanzees, do have that extra bone,
so today let's talk about why other animals have penis bones while humans got the shaft.
It wasn't always this way.
Researchers who traced its evolutionary timeline found the penis bone, also known by its scientific
and less fun name the baculum, first evolved around 145 million years ago after placental
and non-placental mammals split.
This means that way back, our ancestors had a baculum, and on the way to being human they
lost it.
The researchers put that about 1.9 million years ago.
Ironically, in the time of Homo erectus.
The reason why we lost our baculum may be down to our mating strategy.
Baculum length in primates is closely correlated with intromission time, which is how long
the penis is inside the vagina.
If a primate is going to spend a longer time doing their monkey business, it helps to prop
up their banana.
What constitutes a long intromission?
According to the researchers, 3 minutes, and humans don't quite make the cut.
Our average time from penetration to ejaculation is less than two minutes, so it looks like
we just don't need the extra support.
There are primates like bonobos who copulate for 15 seconds at a time, and yet they still
have a baculum.
This might be because they're polygamous primates, where many males mate with many
females, meaning competition is stiff so they have to be too.
In other polygamous species, having a bone in their boner will help keep them copulating
longer, so other males don't get a chance with their lady.
They are, quite literally, cock blocking.
By comparison humans face less competition for mates because of our monogamous mating
strategy.
And that along with short intromission times may be why our baculum was lost to history.
You may think we got stiffed, but I have some news that'll pick you up.
Penis bones come in all shapes and sizes, and while some of them are impressive and
slightly terrifying, like the 2 foot baculum of the walrus, plenty of them aren't.
Chimps, for example, have a baculum about the size of your fingernail.
In fact even without the extra skeletal bone, humans still have the biggest penises of the
great apes.

to make a ton of money today in the market or if I can't pay my bills
because I know I have other sources of I think the one secret to being rich is
having multiple streams of income you know if you have ten different streams
of income and each of those streams pay $1,000 that's $10,000 a month and you're
not relying on one stream alone so if one of those streams disappears you're
still making 9,000 now if you add another stream or one of those streams
goes up in value now you're making more money the worst thing you can do is put
all of your eggs in one basket I tell people the best thing to do is
always be looking for the next opportunity if you're working on one
thing right now you should have three other things in the back of your mind
thinking okay once I get this going I got three other things I need to be
working on so right now for me growing my YouTube is one of my main focuses and

with cars but I can also do these accessories I can figure out all I can
work at this marketing company I can do this over here that's four other ways to
make money from that one passion it really doesn't matter what it is if I
started a lawn care company okay I start a lawn care company so my services are
cutting grass you know mulching stuff like that
now I have a lawn care company well how can I branch out from there well now I
have a tree trimming companies now I have a tree trimming service as well oh
and then hey now I can do pressure washing and then oh let me figure what
else I do I can actually do roof repair so I have three options branched off of
my landscaping company and then I build my landscaping company up and all these
three other options also start building up now I have four or five different
revenue sources now I have a massive landscaping company how do i leverage
that so now I can talk to distributors lawn care fertilizer companies like hey
work with us I'll make some videos you know how I only use your product or
hey I only do this you pay them you sponsor me and we'll make a deal and
there's always opportunities no matter what it is in life you can always figure
out how to leverage your expertise or leverage your value leverage your
personal value to create more opportunity I saw a really good quote
the other day talking about how people will say that they work 10 years on
something and after 10 years of hard work they had a breakthrough where the
finally the light bulb went off and everything changed their entire life
changed but really that breakthrough happened in one second that moment where
they decided to change or that breakthrough happened
the breakthrough didn't take 10 years that breakthrough was that moment that's
second when it really just clicks two years ago every single month I would
basically be out of money it would be the point where I would spend all my
money and then I'd be waiting like oh I gotta get paid I need to get paid you

stressful and then two years after that I've been able to grow to the point

out how I can leverage my money that I already have to make more money and then
also leverage my personal brand to making more money I stopped having to
worry about basically living paycheck to paycheck now that I've figured out all
these different income sources so no longer am I just focused on filming and
I have all this other stuff going on that brings in more money every single
month really it's all about multiple income sources figuring out multiple
ways so investments whatever you want to do there's so many different ways to do
it and like I said I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to financial
planning but really one thing that I've learned over the last two or three years
is that it really comes down to figuring out multiple income sources and not
having all your eggs in one basket and being diversified the stock market
really is a good example of how to do different things in life for how to
leverage your assets to make money and when I say assets I'm talking about my
skills to leverage those assets to invest and diversify in different
companies it all comes back to stock market it's ironic it's ironic
that this all comes back to the stock market but it's one very simple idea and
that simple idea is that there is no simple easy way to get rich if someone
tells you there is they're lying they just try to get you to buy their DVD or
buy their book or whatever it is focus on leveraging your assets which can be
your skills to improve your life and make a little extra money along the way

Roundup is a probable human carcinogen and it is.
No question.
To get back in that organization, they want the United States to completely stop funding
cancer research for the World Health Organization because they didn't say what corporate America
wanted them to say.
Of course we know that corporate America runs Washington, D.C. and they particularly run
the Republicans and we're really seeing it in this case.
Can you imagine this organization is trying to help us.
They're trying to say, "Look, you know that stuff that you're using everyday in your backyard?
It can cause cancer.
It can cause non-Hodgkin's lymphoma."
Terrible disease.
Usually it's going to be fatal.
The World Health Organization does a ... There's no money from either side.
There's no influence from either side.
It's a down the middle study and they say, "Absolutely.
Roundup will cause this cancer."
They say that along with dozens and dozens of other studies that say, "Yes, this will
cause cancer."
California listed it on their warning labels as causing cancer.
Not out on a limb is my point.
To actually threaten to cut off funding unless you remove the warning, it's absolutely crazy.
It's what the big stick of power will do that we're going to cut off the funding penny to
get you guys to retract your opinions.

they don't even have a dog in the fight.

In there, they talk about not only does it cause cancer, but they talk about the process
of how it causes cancer.
Now they say, "Well, we didn't say that, but that's what other people are saying."
Here's the point.
Shouldn't you have a choice?
Absolutely.
If they're not a hundred percent sure, shouldn't you have a choice?
The doctors that are looking at this are saying, "There's a time when it was absolutely clear
that any responsible company would have said, 'We're not a hundred percent sure, but we
have enough information to lead us to believe that this stuff will cause cancer.'"
Still the company does nothing about it.
They didn't notify the people that are using it.
It just seems fair.
An interesting thing about this, Republicans are behind the company this time, but the
Democrats were behind Monsanto for so long.
Hillary Clinton of course was their big cheerleader on GMO and various things.

month before the shooting saying she feared Nicholas Cruz would quote get
into a school and just shoot the place up I know he's going to explode Grif
they tell you you see something say something that the story began with

first there was a YouTube chat room there was a comment I believe well a
call was made and it's hard there's thousands of tips coming in now there's

ago and really beaten up on the NRA talking about gun control saying folks
you see him there we did all we could to save these kids and it was emotional and
it was man he's all over this and we don't want to tar all law enforcement
people make mistakes but he presented himself as being on top of this and now
we find out that some of his folks were outside there in the parking lot outside
they didn't help he did more than that I think in that Town Hall he knew that
information he knew that his officers did not go inside and and he knew also
that all these other things had fallen between the cracks and he made a I
believe a concerted effort to deflect from himself and push the attention over
and leave and blame dana loesch blame marco rubio brain blamed the nra blame
everybody but his own Sheriff's Department it is a blame game and you
know the president of the Broward Sheriff's union Jeff Bell on Ingram last
night says a Broward County school board holds some of the blame take a listen to
what chef Phil had to say some of the fault that I put on the Broward County
School Board for years they know that the schools have been soft targets and
they claim that they want to have better police presence inside the schools and
they want tougher security but yet they do not want to COFF up the money to pay
for that better security and fortify their schools and have better designs
they don't want that and then when they are fortunate enough to have a school
resource deputy on scene an armed police presence a lot of the liberal
thinking principles that are on campus there they don't want the police
officers making arrests on campus and they don't want the drugs to be found on
campus and they don't want the warrants to be served on campus because it looks

successful as adults but it is interfering with connectedness and

social cues as much they don't even talk on the phone so I just think they're
losing so much because they'll be with a friend and just text with them right

Terminally Ill Dad Isn't Expected To Make It To Son's Graduation, But Then Teen Grants
His Dying Wish
High school graduation is a time of many emotions.
Pride, excitement, fear; students are ending one chapter of their lives and beginning another.
They are on the precipitous of adulthood, a time where they must make large life decisions.
Walking across the stage before their peers, teachers and families is a proud moment for
the seniors.
But for Oak Harbor High School student, Darien Borowski, his graduation day isn't all about
him.
His father, Terry, wasn't expected to make it to his son's graduation.
He was terminally ill.
Terry had been staying at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio for two weeks.
The father confessed his fears he might not survive to see his son accept his diploma.
"That was the first thing that he said when he started getting a little weaker, 'I don't
think I'm going to make it for graduation,'" recalled Terry's wife, Michelle.
Jennifer DeWitt is the social worker responsible for Terry's case.
The ill man told her that it was his last wish to see his son graduate.
She had an idea and acted on it.
But she would need the assistance from Oak Harbor High to make it happen for the family
and especially for Terry.
Principal Cheryl Schell, school board president Jeff Dornbusch and district superintendent
Guy Parmigian took DeWitt's idea step further.
With the help of school staff and students, they created a commencement ceremony for Darian.
All involved worked to make the event as authentic as possible.
"We'll do anything for our kids and their families," Schell stated.
"This was a no-brainer.
I couldn't think of anything more important than to be here today."
This is the second mock ceremony held at the hospice center in a decade.
School administration fully cooperates with the center: "They would absolutely drop
everything for something this important," Dornbusch said of colleagues Schell and Parmigian.
"This is just important as the May graduation date."
DeWitt echoed this sentiment.
The hospice center puts patients first and strives to make all their dreams and last
wishes come true.
Terry loved seeing Darian in his green cap and gown.
The ceremony meant the world to him, even if his son still has to finish up a few classes
before receiving his diploma.
"I'm so proud of you," Terry told his son, along with joking that he should throw
his cap in the air.
"Just seeing his father's face — it made us very happy we're here today,"
Schell added.
"As parents, we just want to know our kids are going to be OK.
That they have a future and can take care of themselves.
We have no doubt about that with Darien."
And indeed, Darian has plans for the next step in his life.
He will either pursue a degree in welding or information technology.
Way to go, Darian!
His father wants him to be successful.
Seeing his son complete that stage of his life must bring peace to this dear father's
heart.

NTP Study Says Cell Phones Might Cause Rare Tumors
The cell phone has become a food like necessary which makes our lives relatively easy and
affluent.
But where cellphones bring outrageous advantages ranging from multiple means of worldwide communication
to set our alarms it has brought multiple side effects as well.
A number of researchers are on run to prove the innocence or disasters of radiations emitted
from cell phone screen.
A similar research is recently conducted by National Toxicology Program in which they
recruited thousands of male and female mice and tested what biological changes radiations
emitted from mobile phone bring.
According to 2016 study, 95% of American adults use smartphones and no empirical study has
yet found strong evidence enough to pose a biological threat to the users that might
make them stop.
But authorities weren't satisfied with the data and they asked for more.
To serve the cause of public health, NTP (National Toxicology Program) conducted a study the
biological threats and side effects of exposure to the cellphone's radiations which are
radio frequent.
This study has revealed on Feb 5, 2018, that cellphone might cause the development of some
rare tumours in nerves which might target males more frequently.
The Test NTP invested $25 for this 10 years long investigation
to explore the effects of radiations coming from cell phones on human's biological health.
The goal of this study was to see whether these radiations actually have any biological
effect and that if these radiations do the effect, what kind and quantity of dose produces
these effects.
In previous studies, it was proposed that cellphone radiations are weak non-ionizing
ones which are largely different from ionizing radiations produced by atomic items and X-rays
which are destructive and that there is no significant proof to verify the potential
biological side effects of cellphone and microwave radiations.
To clear out the confusion, NTP recruited 3,000 female and male rats and mice to study
the cause.
The researcher Bucher comments that it was one of the most comprehensive and technically
challenging studies tried by NTP.
The build specific chambers for participant rats and mice and exposed them to same radiations
which are released by mobile phones.
Researchers also exposed these rats and mice with radiofrequency waves that 2G, 3G and
4G wireless networks use in the transmission to see the effects as 4G networks also emit
similar waves which are used in audio message transmission.
Researchers exposed these rats and mice with strong and higher amount of waves to test
the dose that causes the biological effects.
However, they avoided harming the participants dangerously.
These rats and mice were exposed to these waves before birth to 2 years and afterwards
because 2 years of rat's age is equal to 70 years of human biological age.
What Do Results Reveal?
Bucher commented that they have found a lot of biological effects in rats and mice but
they aren't sure if these are important or not.
Results are yet to be approved and discussed by FDA in March 2018.
However, an important lead that has come to light is that some male rats develop tumours
in hearts known as schwannomas while female mice haven't developed them.
Bucher reckons that males have big bodies which attract more radiations than female
bodies and this can be the reason behind these gender-related variations.
The pinpoint of 2018 studies is that previous studies provided the evidence of the schwannomas
in the inner ears of people who abuse cell phone usage while in the current study; these
rare benign tumours are found in the hearts of mice.
Other biological effects include the change in the weight of pups born to exposed rats
and those born to non-exposed rats as well as certain damaged DNA proves have also been
found.
Are there any Positive Effects?
This study actually revealed some positive effects of these radiations as well which
include the finding that exposed male rats had longer lives than those who weren't
exposed.
Some researchers have commented that this study might reflect that mobile phones are
safe to use while others say these findings call for some precaution.
However, the final decision about how this study affects the general public health and
what measures are needed to be taken is yet to be decided by FDA in March.
