Hey hey hey! Hello everyone! Alex from VapersMD is here

And i'm glad to welcome you on my channel

And today our guest is mechanical mod Alien by Black Sea Mods. And this mod is made in Los Muertos style

Yes, there is a holiday in Mexico, it's called Day of the Dead

And it's like 3rd Alien mechanical mod that got into my hands

I don't know. I guess it's the most popular name for a mechanical mod

Thus i want to recommend to guys from Black Sea Mods to think up another name, because there is too many Aliens out there

And at some point you are getting confused - Alien, another Alien, is that Alien from those guys or from other? And that's the problem

I hope your next mechs will come out under different name

Let's move forward. This is a mechanical tube mod and it's made of brass, but guys also make their mechs of aluminum as well

The main feature of this brass mechanical mod is circular engraving

It's great, it's stylish and we're going to look at it right now in my close up

So let's dive down

Okay, friends. As it says - you are getting used to the good things. And i guess we are getting used to the fact, that mechanical mods is coming in stylish cases like this one

But this case is also ennobled by a tag-plate which is says that it is Black Sea Mods, Alien Mod and Los Muertos

Wonderful. And that is how we are welcomed by this kit contents

In here we have a User Manual, but the most interesting thing that some sections of it refers to aluminum version, while we have a brass

Also in a kit we have a spare spring and two pre-made alien coils from the friends of Black Sea Mods

Also we have another spare contact with shorter pin

And of course we have Alien Mod by Black Sea Mods itself, which is in this blue bag

As it says - TA-DAAM

And now let's talk of its technical specs

This mod is made of gun shell brass or of aviation aluminum, also aluminium versions that is painted in black and in white are available, as well as black & white color

This mod fits the atomizers with diameter up to 24mm, it have 510 hybrid connection, auto-adjustment feature, blank fire button press protection and vent holes

It is powered by 1*18650 and have constant contact that is made of brass and it's silver-plated

By the way, only the 510 thread is involved in contact and it's great

One of the main features of this mod is deep circular engraving, right now in my hands is a Los Muertos style mod

Also guys recently released a mod with Xenomorph engraving

That was the specs, so let's move further and give a detailed look to this mod

As always we start from top and in order where we have a 510 hybrid connector with engraving Alien and serial number

As manufacturer claims, in next versions there will be a recess for atomizers

At this moment this mod is fit atomizers with diameter up to 24mm. And 24mm attys sit perfectly

Moving forward we get to the tube which is have its feature

This mod have a Los Muertos engraving and it's looks stylish and overall great

Yes, there is a place on the opposite side where this engraving sort of ends, but again - this doesn't affect an appearance of this mechanical mod

Overall i really like this engraving a lot, guys made a great job

I think you noticed that there is 2 big vent holes below, but one of my nitpicks that engraving is not centered for them

It's look like vent holes is shifted and it is a hell of a perfectionist for me

But again, one of the good things that engraving is done from top to bottom

On the bottom we have a cap that holds the button inside

Pay attention - right now button is completely screwed and it's match with engraving. That is great

Moving forward, this cap is unscrews counter clockwise and i can tell you - threads is phenomenal. Buttery smooth

This cap is screws and unscrews almost by itself

The cap look like so, and it holds the button

And again - even here guys putted an effort to a design

The slot for a battery look like so. As you can see it have a bevel to make a contact, and inside we see a cutout which protects from blank button pressing when you don't have an atomizer attached

Also there's a little patina

And now it's time to talk about the button itself. It looks like so, and as i said it's made out of brass and it is silver-plated

The bottom of the button have no silver-plating but have a Xenomorph engraving

This button is having a constant contact and auto-adjusting to your battery height and atomizer pin length

Disassembly of this button is banally simple - pull out the upper contact and inside you will see several insulators and a spring itself

According to those little arcs on the upper and lower parts you can tell where contact is happening

You will need to clean these two parts with help of eraser

Let's try to do it together. It goes like one...

And arcs are gone as if it never was here

Let's do it with this side as well

And arcs are gone

Okay, great, this button is ready to work

In case you need to swap the spring just pop it out and insert the other one

I can say, friends, the idea of this button was on surface. It's made great and correctly, but the most important convenient and simple

In this terms guys did a great job - they think up, have made it on their own way and it works

Okay folks, that is how the mechanical mod looked, now it's only left to install the battery inside

Since vent holes is below - we will install the battery positive side down

As you can see after we installed the battery with attached atomizer - it's sit tight inside due to a vacuum, which is good and it means that inside we have a precise fit

But this battery have a custom wrap and it fit perfectly with no rattle etc and it's the most important

After this insert the button and screw down the cap

Battery is not rattling, button is firing, vapor is happening

After these verses we can go back to face-time

What did i dripped in here?

I think i find

Well folks. I'm basically showed you everything in close up but now it's time to talk of pros, cons and nitpick of this device as well as of some important moments

I'll tell you this - i didn't find any MAJOR cons which would affect the functionality of the mechanical mod in this mechanical mod

But there is several nitpicks which we are going to talk about right now

First nitpick is for lack of cutout for atomizer on the top of this device

But guys have sent me an e-mail saying that this cutout will be in next versions, so it's not a con - it's a nitpick

Next nitpick. We all know very well, it is a standard issue, that all the brass(and copper) mods will get patinated and you will have to take care of it and polish it

It's a standard issue and it's a nitpick. And it's a thing that everyone should know about

Another thing that everyone should know about is that in all mechanical mods arcs are happening somewhere

I showed you in close up where arcs is happening in this mech mod. You should take care of it as well and as you saw it's pretty fast

And last nitpick, from me personally, as from person who is a hell of a perfectionist, as from a person who like symmetry and centered things - in this mod the engraving is not centered relative to vent holes

For people like me this moment is a little pissing us off, but it doesn't affect the functionality at all. Well, actually it even helps since it's a vent holes

Overall, takoe sebe(untranslatable, so-so - near to correct)

Let's continue, one more important thing that we are going to talk about right now

Very important moment, friends. Before purchasing of such mechanical mods with deep and circular engraving

You must fully understand that this mechanical mod is quite rough, so when you hold it - you feel every curve of that engraving

And if you don't like these feelings - you should think twice before buying one of these mods

But on the other hand this engraving makes this mod design incredibly stylish

And right now we are going to talk about pros

First pro i'll give to this mechanical mod for stylish appearance. Yes, from the first look it's an ordinary brass tube

But thanks to this engraving this mod is just gorgeous - you want to look at it and you want to use it

So it's a pro for stylish appearance

Next pro i'll give for production quality. You saw them threads - it's buttery smooth and it's screws down by itself. It's great

Next pro i'll give for simple, logical, convenient and overall great contact group which is made of brass and silver-plated

A pro for constant contact and a pro for single thread that's in the contact, and it's the thread of 510 connector

And last pro i'll give for performance, friends. This mech is performs like a beast

I can see by myself how it fries these coils until they dry out

Performs great and solid pro for that

That's all friends, let's summarize

Of course the last thing we are going to talk about is price

So, the price for aluminum version which is white, or black, or black and white is 4500 rubles(80$ at this moment)

The price for clear brass, for clear brass tube with no engraving is 5000 rubles(88$ at this moment)

And the price of brass mechanical mod with engraving and a kit which include the coils is 8500 rubles(151$ at this moment

On the other hand, that Rogue with such engraving costed way more

So the price is okay. Anyway the decision is yours - will you buy it with or without engraving, aluminum or colored - you decide by your own, what to spend your money on

We, as reviewers, just telling you about the devices and naming the price, but popularity of the device is depends only on you, friends
