Youtube daily report w Oct 28 2017

Geeky Gaming Hey Geeks, it's Andrea.

We are on day 28 of Horror Month 2017.

So we are almost done.

Now, Horror Month just wouldn't be Horror Month to me without playing some horrifying

video games.

Alright Geeks, let's go.

5.

Doki Doki Literature Club On the surface, this may look like your typical

dating sim, but it is not.

Under the adorable beginning hides a darker version of the game.

When you first load the game you are greeted with a warning that people with depression

and anxiety should not play this game.

With fear of giving too much away about myself that I kinda prefer to keep to myself, those

are 2 really huge parts of my life that I struggle with on a daily basis.

And seeing that message I was like Pssh whatever.

Those warnings never really have things to back it up, but this game really gets dark,

so I think the warning deserves to be there.

There are some pretty dark sad subjects here along with the scares, but there are also

some jokes and it's a good game.

It is also available for free on Steam, so you should definitely check it out.

Don't look it up at all though.

Too many spoilers.

4.

The Evil Within If you like Shinji Mikami's games, The Evil

Within is a must play.

It is an amazing game in the genre.

Like any good Horror game, it can be a bit of a challenge.

So if you're one of those people that gets mad after dying a million times, hey I get

it.

That's part of the fun though.

The deaths can be pretty gruesome too.

There are some pretty epic feeling enemies and honestly this game is just wonderful.

If you have played through the first one, The Evil Within 2 just came out this month.

3.

Cry of Fear I'm not going to sit here and say this some

perfect game, because it is pretty buggy.

The engine is a bit dated at this point and it has its fair share of issues.

If you are one of those people that is really picky about having the best graphics, this

may be a pass for you.

What the game does have, though is a great horror atmosphere.

Between the visuals and the music, you can't go wrong here.

As far as the story goes, it is simple and not terribly long, but tells a nice story.

Even if it is a bit sad.

2.

Haunting Ground Here is an older game for you, Haunting Ground

came out in 2005.

Last year we spoke about one of my favorite classic horror games, Clock Tower 3.

If you are a fan of that series, you should like Hunting Ground.

One thing it has that Clock Tower didn't is a puppy!

There is a great feeling that you get playing through a game as a character who doesn't

really know how to fight for themselves.

It definitely helps amp up the fear factor and anxiety.

If you like that, definitely check this one out.

1.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly See, I feel bad calling the last game old

when this one came out two years earlier in 2003.

Don't let the age of the game prevent you from playing it, though.

It's a really great survival horror game.

You have to capture ghosts with your camera, the camera obscura.

So in this one you kinda do have a weapon.

And it definitely does damage.

There is something satisfying about using a camera to damage your otherwise invisible

foes.

This is one of those games that I think everyone who is a fan of horror games should play through

once.

And not just because it is a classic.

I mean, it's a classic because of what it is, not because it just happens to be old.

Alright Geeks, that's going to do it for this video.

Thank you so much for hanging out with me today.

We only have a few more days left to Horror Month, so be sure to get the limited time

t-shirt before it is gone forever.

And don't forget to subscribe, like, and comment.

We also have the Horror Month song available on band camp if you are interested.

Alright Geeks, I will see you tomorrow.

Hello again and welcome back.

So today, we are going to be looking at a couple of expressions, and even a verb.

So, let's get started.

to put to rest:

to settle or finish, especially a question or discussion; solve a lingering or persistent

issue.

We should be able to put the question to rest once Jim returns from his meeting with our

client.

to hit the bricks:

Used as a command, it is insulting and you're telling someone to leave a place.

If you're using it in reference to yourself however, it is just an informal way of telling

people that you're leaving.

You are being too loud.

You'll need to hit the bricks.

Hey guys!

My wife just called, so I'll need to hit the bricks.

to skirt:

Not in like the skirt you wear, but a verb.

to avoid, go around the edge of, or keep distant from:

The politician skirted the accusations of corruption.

You can't skirt your responsibilities this time.

to get along with:

to have a good, friendly relationship with a person or people:

It's important to get along with your boss.

I get along with most people; even though, I don't always agree with them.

to come into one's own:

to rise up or ascend to a level of success that is achieved, deserved or owed.

As in: economic security, respect or social status.

After a long road of trials and errors, he finally came into his own.

She came into her own when she was able to find her confidence.

So, there you have it; some more vocabulary words and/or expressions that you may not

have known.

Austrian Breakfast in Vienna, Austria | Wiener Frühstück (Viennese Breakfast) - Duration: 9:35.

Good morning good morning.

It is a beautiful Friday here in Vienna (Wien).

Yeah, it is.

And we're hungry.

We woke up with an appetite so we're going to go in search of a typical Austrian and

Viennese breakfast.

Oh yes, and there is a place we have in mind just around the corner.

So let's go there.

That's great.

Sam is just getting his camera ready.

Going to do some filming today.

Camera out.

Yeah, we're also aside from just having breakfast there is also going to be a busy day for us

filming trying to complete the city guide to Vienna (Wien). here today as well.

Yeah.

And we have to say we've loved the city.

It is so beautiful but the prices are kind of scary.

Wouldn't you say?

It is not the cheapest city that is for sure.

It is not.

But I mean it is very nice to visit but yeah not as friendly on the wallet as some of the

other places we've been to recently.

We've also noticed there is a big cafe culture here in Vienna so you always see you know

the patios, cafes, restaurants they are full no matter what day of week it is, what time

it is.

People are out brunching and eating.

So yeah, that is one thing that I really do like about the city because I like my food.

This is our beautiful street.

Just look at that architecture up ahead.

The streets in Vienna are stunning.

Okay so here we are.

We made it to the restaurant we had in mind.

It is called Wirr.

Not entirely sure what that means but they do have a cool menu with alien cats.

With alien cat.

It is like those bald cats.

I don't even know what they're called but yeah they're on the cover.

We show know the name of this cat.

We're going to look this up later on.

Haha.

If you know please tell us.

Yeah but we came here a few days ago and we actually had more of a Middle Eastern breakfast.

Like Sam had this giant hummus platter.

It was so good.

With falafel and it had shakshouka and it was really good.

Yep.

But we also noticed on the menu that they specialize in a Viennese breakfast and they

also have a farmer's breakfast.

Yes.

So that is what we've ordered and yeah it should be coming soon.

Actually our drinks are here.

Burr.

Trying to stay warm out here on the patio.

It is late September but I mean it is surprisingly chilly.

Today is a lot chillier than it has been on other days.

It is a little windy.

Maybe we should have sat inside.

But we figured let's enjoy the sunshine.

So yeah, I got myself a cafe latte.

Nice and milky and frothy.

Yeah.

And we've been noticing they sure do good coffees in this city.

Oh, they do.

Oh my.

They do.

And Sam got a little cappuccino in a cute little blue cup.

I did.

Just over here.

Check it out.

I'll be trying that after.

That is good but I can't wait for the food to arrive.

I'm so hungry.

It is past 10 in the morning already so we're a little bit late for breakfast today.

But yeah.

Alright Sir.

Time to try the cappuccino.

Cappuccino.

Mmm.

It is pretty darn good.

Yeah?

Yeah.

And the cool thing is that in this neighborhood that we've been staying in we've tried out

a couple of really other good restaurants too.

Yeah.

We went to Ulrich right?

Yeah, that was a good one.

Which is really good.

I ordered the we got the mushroom risotto.

Actually I ordered the mushroom risotto and Sam was like I'll have the same please.

Haha.

So we only tried it.

I copied you.

But it was so good.

But we also had we got a side dish of like polenta and chorizo.

Yeah.

And then we went to another restaurant that Anthony Bourdain went to many years ago.

What was that one called?

Wratschko.

Wratschko.

Yeah.

We had uh steak with um with peppercorn sauce.

Peppercorn sauce.

Yeah.

It was so good and that was our friend Kash who recommended that.

So we went and tried that.

So lots of great places to eat just in and around the neighborhood we were staying in.

And this place we're at right now.

This one we found on our own.

This is our own discovery.

Yes.

Haha.

Alright guys, so our Viennese breakfast has arrived.

This is the Wiener Frühstück and it comes with semmel which I've already dug into.

It is for our Spanish speaking clip we did.

Haha.

It is just so warm and fresh out of the oven.

This is a nice bread and it also came with croissant.

We have some ham, some cheese, a hard boiled egg, butter, jam and I can already tell you

I am a big fan.

This is a typical Viennese breakfast.

Yep.

This is the Viennese one.

Yep.

We'll showcase the other one in a moments time.

But this bread roll.

Oh my gosh.

I don't know like we've been in Vienna how many days and we've managed to only discover

this bread roll today?

How is it possible?

That is kind of sad.

It is so good.

It is good.

It is so so good.

It kind of reminds me a bit of a continental breakfast.

Mmmhmm.

Yeah.

It really does.

Mmmm.

Mmmmm.

Alright thank you for sharing.

Oh, you're right.

It is nice and warm.

I know.

Oh my gosh.

I know.

Fresh as can be.

So I'm going to have a little bit of ham and cheese on mine.

Turning it into a sandwich.

It is a little yeah it is a little mini sandwich.

A mini bite.

Good stuff.

That is really nice.

I like how you can alternate between having like savory bites with the meat and cheese

and then going over to the sweet.

There you go.

They've thought of everything.

The best of both worlds really.

Oh.

That makes a lot of noise.

And let's not neglect that egg.

Let's not neglect the egg.

As we all know Sam has a problem with eggs sometimes.

Not a big fan of boiled or runny eggs.

This one feels a little soft.

It is all yours.

Oh, it feels soft.

Ooh, it is.

Oh man, I'm going to have to like spread this on bread or something.

Haha.

Before it is a little runny in there huh?

It is going to burst all over my hands.

I'd get that bread.

Actually you know what I'm going to do?

I'd get that bread underneath.

I'm going to steal a slice of bread from the other breakfast we ordered.

The farmer's breakfast.

Alright.

We're going to show you guys that.

I'll bring that over to you right now.

In a second.

One hand on the camera another hamera.

Another hamera.

Another hand to hand you the bread.

Let's cut into that.

Camera.

Ooh.

Haha.

Look at it burst all over your hand.

Oh man.

There is no napkins.

What are we going to do here?

No napkins.

There actually is a napkin.

Look at that.

I'm going to get you the napkin right now.

Hmmm.

Just licking my hands clean.

Look at this like multi-talented over here.

Filming, handing you napkins and pieces of bread on demand.

And how is that?

It is good.

It needs a little bit of salt and pepper but I can work with this.

Okay okay.

So now let's dig into the farmer's breakfast.

Yeah, this poor little plate has been neglected.

We've been chowing down on the other one so much.

So we'll give you a little tour.

So we've got the nice bread over here.

Yeah and it came with two slices.

Yes.

Two very thick slices of cheese.

It looks like aged cheese.

And then we have um the egg which I'll be giving to you.

This is I think kind of like a carrot cream cheese type of mixture.

It is a spread to put on the bread obviously.

Yeah.

And then of course we have the gurken - the pickles.

And then we have something like prosciutto.

It does look like deli meats.

It looks like really good quality meat.

And some tomatoes.

And so what I'm going to do is make a little mini sandwich here.

A little bite.

Taking off a bit of bread.

I'm going to take a little bit of this.

Spread it on.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

A little bit of this a little bit of that.

A wee bit of cheese.

A wee bit of cheese.

A wee bit of cheese.

A little ripped off slice of pickle and some meat.

So I've got a little bit of everything going on aside from the egg which is all yours.

Mmmm.

Oh my gosh that is really nice.

The bread is delicious.

It is like it is absolutely amazing.

And then that nice thick slice of cheese and then a little juiciness from the pickle.

It makes a really nice yummy bite.

Alright and now if you had to choose between the Viennese and Austrian farmer's breakfast

which would you go for?

Well, you know what?

I'm more in the mood for savory so I think I'm going to enjoy the farmer's one a little

bit more today.

Alright that works for me because I like the Viennese better.

Perfect.

Haha.

Normally we like the same one.

Alright so chow down.

This works out great today.

And price point for that meal?

And to wrap things up yeah that came to just over 23 Euro so that included the two drinks

and the two mains.

So yeah it was a really good breakfast.

We'd recommend going there and yeah we're very satisfied.

We're very full.

But also ready to start the day we're going to go explore more of Vienna (Wien) right

now.

Tata.

Tata.

When I look into your eyes I can see a love restrained

But darlin' when I hold you Don't you know I feel the same

Nothin' lasts forever (corte no vídeo)

And it's hard to hold a candle In the cold November rain

We've been through this such a long long time, Just tryin' to kill the pain,

oo yeah

But love is always coming and love is always going And no one's really sure who's lettin' go today

Walking away

If we could take the time To lay it on the line I could rest my head Just knowin' that you were mine

All mine

So if you want to love me Then darlin' don't refrain

Or I'll just end up walkin' In the cold November rain

Do you need some time on your own

Do you need some time all alone

Tom Bishop's Kuota Kougar Pro Bike And Kit - Duration: 3:58.

(upbeat music)

- We're here with Tom Bishop's Kuota Kougar

and his triathlon race gear

ahead of the ITU grand final in Rotterdam.

And it's a rather wet and windy Rotterdam

as we've had to duck inside.

But it will be really interesting to see

if he's made any changes because of the conditions.

So the Kougar is an aero bike.

So it's got a few aero touches.

You've got the breaks hidden behind the forks

and under the bottom bracket.

And then we've got a hidden seat clamp bolt.

So looking at Tom's wheel set choice,

he's using the Mavic Cosmic Pro SL Wheels,

which have a 40 mm rim depth.

And to go with those he is using

the Continental GP Supersonic Tyres.

And interestingly he is using just a 23 mm tyre width.

And because of the conditions out here

and the technical course,

he is running just 70 psi on the front

and 80 on the rear.

He's using the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 11 speed group set,

which is mechanical.

And talking to Tom he prefers his mechanical

rather than electronic just because

he doesn't always travel with a mechanic.

So if he has any issues or he wants to make any changes,

he can quite easily do that with the mechanical system.

He's running the rotor 3D crank sets,

with a 165 crank clank.

And on the end of those he has got the speed plate pedals.

And on his Rotor crank set he has the NOQ Rotor chain rings

with 53/38 on the front and on the back,

he's using an Ultegra cassette 11-25.

And connecting the two he's using the gold KMC chain.

So we've got the Kuota aero seat post.

And on top of that we have the San Marco Concord Saddle,

which he's actually got set quite far forward

in a nice aggressive position.

And interestingly, underneath he has a gel stored here.

And talking to Tom he actually stores one

under the saddle and then one at the front of the bike.

But that's a really cool storage place.

I like it.

On the front end of the bike we've got

the Deda Zero 100 stand, which is 110 mil.

And attached to that we have the

Deda Zero 100 handlebars and on those

we have the Shimano Dura Ace 9100 mechanical levers.

And then we have his Garmin mount

which is at quite a jaunty angle.

I thought it was just to be cool,

but chatting to Tom,

he believes it's more aero-dynamic.

And now on to his wetsuit.

And he's using the HUUB Aerious 3.5.

And interestingly, a lot of the elites will use

a neutral buoyancy wetsuit

but Tom has opted for the 3.5.

Which means he has more buoyancy in the legs

than he has in the top.

So he's got 5 mm neoprene in the bottom

and 3 mm in the chest.

So looking at his other race gear,

we'll start with his bike shoes.

He has the Mavic Cosmic Ultimate Tri shoe.

And these have a single strap

as a lot of tri shoes do these days.

These start from the outside inwards for ease

and also so that the strap doesn't get caught in the chain.

Now these weigh in at just 240 grams.

And they also have a nice big heel loop,

so you can get them on and off really easily.

Now Tom is running in the

Asics Gel Hyper Tri 3 running shoes.

Now these weigh in at just 190 grams.

It's really cool to see Asics doing

a triathlon specific running shoe.

So they dry out nice and quickly.

And also they have a finger loop in the tongue,

meaning you get them on quickly in transition.

These also have a 6 mm heal to toe drop.

And they come with some matching elastic laces.

So that is Tom Bishop's triathlon race set up.

Top 10 Places You Shouldn't Be On Halloween - Duration: 7:08.

How's it going Youtube I am Kicker the Clown and welcome back to another freckin video.

I am super glad you guys clicked on this one its time to hide under your blankets, and

start shaking because it's about to get real scary around here.

This is the top 10 places you shouldn't be on Halloween.

And you guys are lucky this year because Kicker the clown is about to help you guys get throw

Halloween.

So if you listen to me you will stay alive this year, for now.

Screaming and kicking at number 10, are kids going into a white van.

This is no jokes kids.

And I guess adults.

There's always that joke going around about don't get into a white van when someone

offers you candy because inside of that white van is always a pedophile.

Well this is actually no joke there has been some kid nappers using candy to lure kids

into their white van or any vehicle for that matter.

You guys don't need to be around vechile on this night just stay safe on the sidewalks

and go only up to houses for candy.

Which actually thinking about what I said sound so off as well.

Why are we allowed to go out and beg for candy door to door.

This is like a pedophiles dream, a ton of little kids knocking on their door.

Number 9.

Don't go inside of people's houses.

There have been stories out there of people saying, come inside little kid the candy is

inside.

If someone offers you to come inside of their home don't go inside no matter what.

You don't want to be a victim in any crime that is about to happen.

I think instead of teaching kids how to expand an equation in school they should be teaching

them about everyday life lessons like this one.

Horrendously coming into number 8, is you shouldn't be alone.

You never know when I will get you.

(Cough) I mean you never know when something bad will happen to you, so it's better to

always have a Halloween buddy with you, so you can keep each other safe for the night

while you knock on peoples doors like homeless people begging for candy.

Halloween always takes place at night time where its dark and scary.

Night time is the best time to commit crimes, like kid napping, assault, someone could get

stabbed, someone could take all of your candy so you better watch out.

Always turn 360 every like 5-10 seconds.

So lets try this move together.

Walk walk turn 360 walk walk turn 360.

You guys got it, k good use this technique on Halloween so you can see all around you

and your always on alert for the bad guys like myself.

Number 7.

Stay away from the hobo's homes, aka dark alleys.

You never know when the Hobo's last ate and they could be Hangry.

So stay away from them you don't want to find yourself in any altercations.

Going down dark alleys could be hair-raising and spine-chilling, at any moment I could

come out of the dark and get you guys.

I will take all of your candy, and no way you can beg that shit back forget that.

I thrive on this night, I let you guys do all the work and I just take it all from you.

That's how life is for me so if you want to get all of your candy and not be attacked

in an alley way stay away from it.

This is no joke.

Terrorizing at number 6, we have cemetery's.

On Halloween you never know what's real and what is fake so its just best to stay

away from it.

Imagine seeing a Ghost and your thinking Is that just someone dressed as a ghost or is

this a real ghost?

This is a time for creatures of the dark to come alive at night time and blend right in.

The cemetery symbolizes the after life, the life of the death, and you never know what

dead people are going to rise on this night so watch out.

Number 5, don't go into a real haunted house.

This is a place where a real death happened usually a murder.

You never if that dead person is still haunting the house.

There could be Paranormal events happening in that house and I don't think you will

want to be apart of it there could be extraterrestrial life, and unidentified flying objects.

Unless you're a Youtube trying to get scary content and click bait content maybe stay

away from Haunted houses on this night I know I would.

I usually like staying inside of storm drains.

At Number 4, unless you don't want to run into me on Halloween I would stay away from

where I live the Storm Drains.

Don't try and squeeze yourself down here.

I will find you and do what I have to do to get rid of you.

That's right kids you have been warned.

Stay the hell out of my house I already have enough kids down here this year.

" I shouldn't have said that" I shouldn't have said that" Is there an editor that

we use for this video.

"Ya we have editors why" Can we get them to remove that last part I

don't want to incriminate myself.

You know the part I said I already have enough kids down here this year ya that statement

is try but can we make it not true.

. "Pulls out knife" Number 3.

Next up we have an Abandoned Corn Maze.

This is a place you for sure don't want to be in during Halloween.

You shouldn't be at a place that is very dark and it's a maze what if you can't

get out.

What if someone is chasing you inside the maze and you take one wrong turn that's

all it takes one wrong turn.

What if your in the maze and you start to panic because you can't get out you realize

your just running in circles and everything starts to look the same.

Now your missing out on all the Halloween candy because you stuck in a dam maze I told

you guys not to go in.

Number 2, don't be going into no fun house because, that where I will be hiding out the

night of Halloween.

I will be in sweage drains and fun houses with a ton of mirrors in them.

You wont even see me coming and I am warning you guys now.

Fun Houses are just way to scary to visit especially on Halloween.

Everything just becomes real on that night and mirrors freaks out a ton of people because

you never know what you will see in them.

And finally at number 1 a place you shouldn't visit on Halloween in a jail cell.

Make sure you guys keep safe on this night and stay out of trouble.

No fighting with your buddies just because his costume is scarier than yours or they

got more candy than you.

Also don't go stealing peoples candies because that's my job.

The more candy you guys have the more likely I will want to come find you guys.

Its no joke.

Well there you guys have it thanks so much for watching.

Majority Of White People Say THEY Are The Ones Being Oppressed - Duration: 3:42.

According to a new poll released by NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Harvard

T.H. Chan School of Public Health, 55% of white people in the United States believe

that white people are being discriminated against in their daily lives here in the United

States.

Now, what's really interesting about this fact is that most people polled, the white

people who say they're being discriminated against, many of them could not name a specific

instance in which they personally were discriminated against.

A few of them did come out and say things like, "Well, I was up for a promotion and

instead they promoted the black guy instead," as if that's some kind of oppression and has

nothing to do with perhaps age, longevity, skill, ability.

You know, it's just because, oh, a black guy got something and I didn't, I'm being oppressed.

That particular view point is exactly what this poll is trying to expose.

White people are not being discriminated against in the United States.

Pretty much throughout our entire history as a country, white people have not been discriminated

against in the United States.

Now, I'm sure you can probably find one or two instances, maybe a business here or a

business there run by a black person that said, "No, we don't like white people."

Yeah, you can find racists on both sides.

But systemically, no, white people haven't.

White people have never been told that they have to sit on a certain place on a bus.

White people have never been told that they have to go sit in a separate segregated section

of a restaurant.

White people have never been bought and sold in this country to go work on plantations.

White people are not being discriminated against, but the majority of people in this country,

white people, and it's a slim majority, it's about 55%, believe that whenever a black person

gets something, whenever a black person succeeds, it comes at the expense of a white person.

Why?

Because all they see is the black and white issue.

They don't look at how hard that person worked.

They don't look at the adversity that they overcame, the long nights they spent studying

in college or high school, the hard work that they've put in all through their lives.

No.

All they see is, well, I'm white, I didn't get the thing, but the black person did.

That's discrimination.

That's not how it works.

You want to know how discrimination works?

Why don't you go look at the footage of those Charlottesville riots?

Why don't you go look back at the history prior to the Civil War?

Why don't you go look back at the history of the '30s and the '40s and the '50s and

the civil rights movement?

That's what discrimination looks like.

White people in this country have never faced anything like that and it is beyond appalling

and absolutely disgusting that a majority of them think that somehow they are the victims

of some kind of race war in the United States today.

HOW DO RESIDENCIES WORK IN MEDICINE? (Q&A) | med school vlog - Duration: 11:24.

This video is made possible by Away.

Hi everyone!

It is Wednesday.

I have a new block.

In the last block, I did my medicine sub-i and this block I'm doing my EMS elective for

the next four weeks.

And for EMS elective, I'm gonna be doing a bunch of ambulance ride alongs and I'm gonna

be observing both BLS as well as ALS.

I have a few of those coming up.

I also have a bunch of interviews coming up.

I know I talked a little bit about my interview process, in the last video.

A lot of you guys had really good questions, and I wanted to kind of address them.

So a lot of you guys asked about sort of the general process of "match" and residency interviews.

So the way residency applications work... is towards the end of your medical school

career, so sometime during the very end of 3rd year or the very beginning of 4th year

you send out your applications.

Most people only apply to one specialty.

I know somebody asked if I'm only applying to emergency medicine.

I am!

I would say the vast majority of people end up applying to only one field.

The reason being that, when you apply to these programs, you have your personal statement,

you have your away rotations, you have your letter of recommendations.

All of these are geared towards the specialty that you wanna go into.

So it's kinda hard to prepare for more than one specialty because you're gonna be writing

about why you wanna go into emergency medicine or why you wanna go into surgery or why you

wanna go into internal medicine.

You're also gonna be doing things in your medical school career to show that, that's

the field that you're interested in.

So for example, for me, I did a bunch of away rotations in emergency medicine, kind of 1.

to experience what's it is like at different hospitals 2. to show the different programs

that that's the field that I wanna go into.

Also reason number 3.

being that I needed recommendation letters from specifically designed for emergency medicine.

So it would have been very difficult for me to apply to more than one specialty.

For the most part, people apply to what's called categorical residencies, meaning you

go directly from medical school into the field that you're gonna be specializing in.

So from... going from... doing directly from medical school to emergency medicine.

Or directly from medical school to general surgery.

There are certain specialties that require you to do one year of either transitional

year or a preliminary year of either medicine or surgery.

Those are things like ophthalmology, dermatology, I think anesthesiology and a few other specialties

that require that you do a separate year of training before actually starting to study

anesthesiology or dermatology or ophthalmology.

Aside from those specialties, most people apply to just one type of specialty and that's

the field that they wanna go into.

There are also questions about sort of the interview process and what's it's like.

I honestly can't speak for all the other specialties but for the most part, from my experience,

and from what I've heard, emergency medicine interviews tend to be pretty relaxed and pretty

conversational.

You get asked for things like: what do you like do during your free time, tell me about

yourself, why do you wanna go into emergency medicine.

Kind of just basic questions.

I've heard that in other specialties you get what's called "pimped" on patient cases, sort

of like the medical knowledge.

In emergency medicine, they don't do so much of that which is nice because you're not really

being tested for medical knowledge when you go for interviews.

I think that should come from your standardized test scores and you know, you're still a student

so you still have a lot to learn.

I feel like the most important thing in the interview like I mentioned in the previous

video is for the program to get to know you as a person and get to know who you are outside

of these scores and the numbers that you have in your resume and your applications.

So those are sort of the more commonly asked things on the interviews from my experience

and from what I've read online and from other people.

People also asked me what other people bring to the interview.

So I wanna show you guys what I brought to my interview.

This is the bag that I brought.

This is kind of a plain grey shoulder bag.

It's big enough to fit this folio.

This is a folio that I got from my alma mater when I graduated.

It's from Barnard.

Basically has a notepad, and there is a little slot for you to bring in your CV or your resume,

and little slots for business cards and things like that.

Honestly, a lot of brought these but there is really no use for this other than it makes

you look a little more professional I guess, so you can carry your resume with you in case

you wanna look over right before your interview.

I think as a general rule of thumb, it's nice to have something to write in like a notepad

or like a pen or something just so that if anybody gives you any important information,

you can write that down, if you get in touch any residents, or any program directors who

wanna give you their e-mail address, or their phone number or for you to ask more questions,

you can write that down.

I brought my pencil case, I brought my wallet.

And most places will give you breakfast and lunch or at least some light refreshments

so you probably don't need to bring like snacks or water bottles or anything.

You can if you want to.

I brought a little thing of mints just in case.

But aside from that, that's really all I brought me to the interview.

Like I said before, same thing with the outfit, I wanted to have something kind of plain bag.

I didn't wanna bring anything flashy.

I also didn't wanna show up in like backpack so I wanted something just kind of nice enough

and doesn't stand out too much.

So that's the bag that I brought.

So the next question somebody asked was for me to describe the match process.

It's a little nebulous.

I don't know exactly how it works but I have an idea of how it works.

So basically, when you apply to these programs during your medical school during 4th year

or something, some programs will give you an interview, and not all of them.

You go to these interviews.

They're evaluating you but you're also evaluating them to see if you're a good fit for their

program.

Of if that program is a good for you.

And then you're supposed a make ranked list of the program that you like.

So you make a ranked list and the programs also make a ranked list of the applicants

that they liked.

And I think there is a computer process that's takes both list into consideration and then

matches you into the program that you're supposed to go to the following year.

So that's like the nutshell of how the match process works.

Match day is basically this big national day where all the US medical students find out

on the same day where they're gonna go residency.

It's supposed to be like a big day of celebration and all that.

So that should be exciting!

That's coming up in March.

I'll maybe try to vlog that day so you guys can find out where I'm going to... maybe.

So that's pretty much the Match process.

I know there is a lot involved.

There's the application process, interviewing, ranking and then Match Day and it's a whole

big process but it's very exciting and you find out where you're gonna spend the next

as short as 1 year to as long as 5 plus years of your life doing your residency.

So it's very very exciting.

So, I hope that kind of answers all your questions about the Match process and residency interview

process.

I'm trying to remember if there are any other questions.

I will check back with more questions.

So I just finished dinner and now I'm doing some reading for my EMS elective.

So EMS stands for emergency medical service and basically consists of all the EMTs and

the paramedics who ride in the ambulance and pick patients up and provide some care.

So the reading that I'm doing is basically all the protocols that's been written for

certain cases like sepsis or cardiac arrest, or hypotension, congestive heart failure and

there are all these protocols written by medical directors.

I think it varies from state to state but there's basically protocols on what to do,

what drugs to give, how to transport patients, and things like that.

So I just wanna familiarize myself with all these things so that hopefully I'll see some

cool things tomorrow and for the rest of the month and I'll be able to jump in with what

I'm supposed to do.

Technically I'm supposed to observing mostly so I won't be doing anything, I won't be intubating

anyone, I won't be starting lines, but I heard that sometimes the paramedics will let you

do some minor things so I think it's just a good idea for me to know what's going on

so I'm just gonna read up on everything and I will check in with you guys later.

So it's getting late, I have to go to bed soon because tomorrow I have a 7am-7pm shift.

So I wanna make sure I get plenty of rest for that.

But before I end the video, I wanna tell you guys a little bit about today's sponsor, Away.

I wanna tell you guys about their product.

So Away is a luggage company and they use high quality material.

They use German polycarbonate and they offer it at a much lower price compared to other

brands by cutting out the middle man and selling directly to you.

You can choose from a variety of colors and sizes.

They have four different sizes, they have the carry-on, the bigger carry-on, the medium

or the large.

The one that I have is the bigger carry-on.

The suitcase itself has a lot of cool features, like I said it's made of German polycarbonate,

which is very light but very strong and impact resistant.

The interior has patent pending compression system so you can actually compress all the

stuff that you packed so that it fits and you can zip everything up.

It has four 360 degrees spinner wheels and it has TSA approved combination lock built

in to the top of the bag to prevent theft.

Another bonus is they have a removable, washable laundry bag so that you can separate the dirty

clothes from the clean clothes.

Something cool about the carry ons and the bigger carry on that I haven't seen on any

other luggage is that they have this charger that's built into the luggage itself so you

can charge all your cellphones, tablets, kindles or anything else that you can power with a

USB cord.

The luggage comes with a lifetime warranty so if anything breaks, you can send it over

to them to fix it or they'll replace it for life.

The luggage comes with a 100 day trial so you can live with it, travel with it, and

then if you decide it's not for you you can return it for a full refund.

There's free shipping on any way order within the lower 48 states and the carry-on sizes

are complaint with all the major US airlines so you can take it with you on the plane.

And if you're in New York City, or visiting New York City you can actually visit the away

retail store and check out all the luggage in person.

So this is the luggage that I used for my away rotation last month.

I have the bigger carry-on like I mentioned and it fit everything that I need while I

was at the hospital.

Probably my favorite feature was the laundry bag so that I can put all my laundry in there

in will be separate from all my clean clothes.

I didn't have to bring a separate plastic bag or a laundry bag. to put all my dirty

clothes in.

So if you guys are interested in trying out the luggage, you guys can go to awaytravel.com/strivetofit

that's awaytravel.com/strivetofit and use the promo code "strivetofit" for $20 off your

purchase.

So I'm gonna close the vlog now.

I Hope you guys enjoyed the video.

Let me know if you guys have anymore interview related questions and I'll try to answer them

in the next video.

I will see you guys next time!

Are bananas and peanut butter actually BAD for our bodies? - Duration: 12:48.

Hello everybody, Shaun Hadsall here with Get Lean in 12,

and inside this video, I'm going to talk

about what bananas and peanut butter do to your body.

So are they weight-loss friendly?

Do they make you gain weight?

Can they help you lose weight?

When should you eat them?

How should you eat them?

What should you eat them with?

These are all the questions that I promise you

I'm going to answer inside this video, so that by the time

you're done watching this, you know exactly how

to add peanut butter and bananas to your diet

to help you quickly lose more belly fat.

So up here on the white board you'll

see I have a column of pros and a column of cons

for both bananas and peanut butter.

So we'll talk about the pros and cons.

And I'll also talk about the best timing--

when should you eat these foods--

and the best solutions-- how to combine them with other foods

to keep the body in a fat burning environment,

when to avoid them, things like this.

Now somewhere on this video, you're also

going to see a link to Clicker Cap,

where you can learn all about an innovative system

I've created called the Over 40 Ab Solution.

Inside this innovative system you're

going to learn about a 12 minute protocol

that you can use to quickly reactivate declining hormones.

So if you're over 35 years old--

you're in your 40s, 50s, or 60s--

pay close attention to this video about bananas and peanut

butter, and pay close attention to what

I'm going to share about our Over 40 Ab Solution system that

can help you quickly lose belly fat in only

12 short minutes per day.

And it's specifically designed to work in conjunction

with the information I'm going to share here

on the white board.

Now, if you're watching this, you're not familiar with me,

you don't know who I am, I'm a 46-year-old stubborn fat

expert, and I'm also a grandpa to four beautiful grandkids.

We have a fifth one on the way.

And my wife Karen is actually 11 years older than me.

And her and I over the last five years

have been fortunate to reach over

100,000 people with our Over 40 Ab Solution,

and our online community called Get Lean in 12.

And when you visit our website at the link around this video,

you're going to learn about her story.

Over 10 years ago, when we first met,

she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

And this forced her into early menopause,

and she accumulated a ton of upper belly fat.

We actually ended up nicknaming it her menopause belly.

And so when you click the link around this video,

and you go learn about our Over 40 Ab Solution system,

you're going to read about her amazing story.

You're going to see her after picture,

and how she used this 12-minute metabolic protocol to get rid

of her menopause belly.

But first, don't click that.

Drop a comment.

Let us know where you're from.

Say hello.

And let's talk about what's on the white board here.

So first up is bananas.

What are the pros of bananas?

Well, most people know that bananas

have a lot of potassium.

So a medium size banana has about 422 milligrams

of potassium.

Bananas are also loaded with antioxidants.

Now antioxidants are responsible for fighting the free radicals

that have been linked to many of today's modern health

challenges, and accelerated aging, inside our bodies.

Also, it's very high in a special type of starch

called resistant starch.

And before I talk about why that's so unique,

over here you'll see I have green equals starch,

and ripe equals sugar.

So as a banana ripens, its sugar content increases.

So that's going to determine when and how you're

going to eat the banana, whether or not it's green,

or whether or not it's ripe.

And green bananas are loaded with a special starch,

like I said, called resistant starch.

It's one of the only starches that doesn't spike insulin.

Remember, when insulin is elevated,

it's a storage hormone.

It makes it nearly impossible for the body

to access fat as a fuel source.

So by eating resistant starch found in green bananas,

it's amazing for insulin sensitivity and blood sugar.

It also feeds the gut healthy bacteria.

This is especially important because 80%

of our immune system lies in our digestive health.

It's also very weight loss friendly.

Research shows people who eat more resistant starch lose more

weight than those who don't.

Now let's talk about the cons of bananas.

Remember, I said if they're ripe, they're higher in sugar.

So a ripe one can be higher in sugar,

which can increase insulin, and potentially take the body out

of the fat loss environment.

And it's also something diabetics

should be conscious of.

Now there is a pretty simple solution to this.

It's simply consume ripe bananas that

have a lot of sugar in them with a protein source,

like in a protein shake, or maybe

having a side of full-fat cottage

cheese or non-flavored Greek yogurt

if you can tolerate dairy.

And this will help balance out the insulin levels.

Now the best time, is to consume them

after the 12 minute protocol that you'll

find inside our Over 40 Ab Solution

system, because that sugar will not be stored as fat.

You see, after you complete our 12 minute metabolic protocols,

the muscles are kind of like a sponge that's been wrung dry,

and they're very active.

And you want to reabsorb the nutrients that you depleted.

So all the energy that's inside your muscles and your liver

tissue is called glycogen. The 12 minute protocols found

inside the Over 40 Ab Solution deplete that glycogen rapidly.

So now, in the post-workout window, a ripe banana,

and the sugar found in that banana,

is just going to be used to replenish glycogen

in muscle and liver tissue, and it

won't be spilling over and being stored as fat on the body.

The other thing is to eat them when they're green.

So you don't even have to worry about combining them

with anything when they're green,

because of the resistant starch.

So it's actually a very fat loss friendly food

if you like green bananas.

I'm a fan of a ripe banana that's sweet.

But there's a lot of people out there

who love green bananas as well.

Now we're about halfway through this video.

I think I've provided some pretty amazing content,

but I want to make sure I still have your attention.

So if you learn something new in the first half this video,

can you please type "yes" in the chat box?

If you know somebody who could benefit from this information,

or who loves bananas and peanut butter, tag them in this video.

Now let's continue with a little bit about peanut butter,

and first of all the pros--

peanut butter is very heart-healthy,

so people who eat more peanuts have

a lower risk of heart attack.

And then it's also very good for insulin sensitivity, which

obviously helps you utilize carbs more as an energy source,

and prevents them from spilling over and potentially

being stored as fat.

The main reason that they're heart-healthy

and they're good for insulin sensitivity

is because of the healthy dose of monosatured fats.

And that's also why they can help you reduce hunger now.

You just have to be careful, because it's a fat source.

And I'll talk more about that, in the cons and the solutions.

But the most interesting aspect of peanut butter

that I discovered when I was prepping for this video

is that they're loaded with resveratrol.

Now resveratrol is found in red wine and grape skins--

has been shown in a lot of published research

to help the body use fat as a fuel source more efficiently.

So good stuff.

Now let's talk about the cons of peanut butter.

First of all, a lot of the over-the-counter brands

contain trace amounts of trans fats

in the form of hydrogenated oils.

And some, not all-- but this is particularly

something you want to pay attention to, and pay

close attention to the labels, because trans fats

are linked to visceral fat and visceral belly fat.

This is fat around the organs that's

been linked to many of today's modern health challenges.

And then, most of these--

not all, again-- that have this trace amount of trans fats,

also contain a very addictive combination of foods

from sugar, salt, and fat.

Now when these three foods are eaten together

at the same time, it targets the same pleasure center

of the brain as cocaine.

So remember, eating this sugar, salt, and fat can actually

be addictive over time, because it makes the brain release

more dopamine.

Now the other thing is--

like I was talking about, how it reduces hunger-- is you

have to be careful because peanut butter is

a friendly fat.

It yields nine calories per gram,

versus four calories per gram for proteins and carbohydrates,

so you have to be very conscious of your portion control.

So that ties into the solutions and the best timing.

So the solution to the trans fat,

and sugar, salt, and fat dilemma,

is simply buy raw, organic, or sugar free.

And here I have a raw almond butter,

and then I even have a raw cashew

butter that is from our local farmer's market.

It's almost gone because it's delicious.

So anyway, you can also buy raw peanut butter as well.

And then also, make sure that you're

watching your portion sizes-- so a tablespoon or two, not a half

a jar.

My wife would be laughing if she was watching

this video, because that's her struggle with friendly fats

and nut butters, is that she tends to eat too much of it.

Instead of having a tablespoon or two,

she finds herself wanting to eat about a third or a half

of the jar.

Now you're getting way too many calories

from fats in your diet.

The best time to eat peanut butter, in my opinion,

is the first and the last meal of the day.

And the reason why-- this goes back to the pros-- it

reduces hunger.

So by eating it in the morning-- and I recommend consuming it

with a complete protein.

Most people think that peanut butter is a great protein

source.

It's really not that great of a-- it's more of a friendly fat

than it is a protein source.

Does have some peanut butter in it, but when you eat it,

I recommend you eat it in a protein shake,

or you combine it with some other type of protein--

if you can tolerate dairy, full-fat cottage cheese,

or non-flavored Greek yogurt.

Also at night, because it helps curb cravings,

it can also reduce the appetite and potentially

help you stay away from sweet and salty treats late at night.

Again, just watch your portion size carefully.

So, if you've learned something, make

sure you give me some hearts.

Make sure you give me some likes on this.

If you have questions, post them in the comments below.

Our team will be more than happy to address them.

And before I sign off, and before you

click or tap the link somewhere around this video

to go learn about our Over 40 Ab Solution system,

I want to talk about the guides that you'll

see when you click over.

See, after you learn about this 12 Minute

Protocol, and the diet tips that we're

going to share with you at our website--

and my wife's amazing story--

you're going to see several guides.

And what I want you to do is, I want

you to focus on one guide in particular today,

and that's called the success tracker.

Because the main guide is about 100 pages or longer,

and it can be a little overwhelming.

So focus on the success tracker, because it's only 14 pages.

It gives you the exact 12 minute workout protocols

to follow, the exact movement patterns, the exact rest

periods, the exact intensity levels.

And it even provides a nutrition plan for each day of the week,

where we position foods like bananas after the workouts,

so that you can eat a lot of your favorite carbs

and not store them as fat.

Now I also want to share with you

that for everybody who grabs a copy of the Over 40 Ab Solution

system, we will donate clean water to a needy child for 90

days.

And last year we donated almost $30,000 with our partnership

with Living Water International, to help install four water

wells across the globe in Getting Leaner 12's name,

just from people like you who took action and grabbed a copy.

And this is a life-changing mission

that we're very passionate about.

My business partner, Ryan, and I actually

have went down to Nicaragua for three years in a row now,

to be involved in these communities

and actually help install the well.

So this is something that's very near and dear to our heart,

because we witnessed firsthand people

that are dying in these villages from the contaminated water.

And with your help today, grabbing a copy of our system,

you can help us with this amazing cause.

And you have no risk.

There is a 90-day money back guarantee.

So no questions asked--

if you don't see amazing results,

and this doesn't change your life

in ways you never imagined, we'll simply

give you your money back.

Now there's one more promise I want

to make before I sign off--

and hopefully you can give me some more hearts and likes--

and that is this.

If you focus just 5% of your time every week

on little strategies like I shared with you in this video,

in the 12 minute protocols found inside of our system,

it leaks over into every area of your life in a positive way.

And it only requires about 12 minutes a day,

and just focusing a little bit of time and effort

to eat healthy.

And my wife, Karen, and I both know that when we do this,

we're better spouses to each other.

We're happier.

We're more fulfilled.

We're better parents, and leaders,

and mentors to our kids.

We're better grandparents to our grandchildren.

We just find that every other area of our life

gets better, all because we invested 5% of our time

in eating healthy and engaging in the 12 minute

protocols found inside the Over 40

Ab Solution system at the link, somewhere around this video.

So time-- time is our most precious commodity,

and I always respect and appreciate

people who take time out of their busy day

to watch my videos.

So if you're watching this, thank you, have a great day,

and keep going strong.

Health Official Mulls Involuntary Quarantine for People with HIV - Duration: 3:21.

A Georgia official with ties to the Trump administration wants to lock up everyone with

HIV because they're not dying as fast as they used to.

The ACLU just submitted a brief to the Supreme Court explaining why they shouldn't through

out the last century of civil rights progress.

And the great Australian marriage survey just ended -- so now what?

We'll have all that and more on Weekly Debrief.

Betty Price is a Republican state representative in Georgia, and this week she proposed quarantining

people to prevent them from spreading HIV.

"In the past, they died more readily," she said, and also suggested that the state could

conduct surveillance of people's sex partners.

To be clear -- health experts maintain that quarantines have questionable efficacy, can

discourage testing, and increases the risk of other pathogens to mutate and then expand

beyond the quarantine.

Not to mention, medication can make HIV undetectable, at which point a quarantine becomes difficult

to enforce.

Price should know better, since she's served on the boards of various medical associations

and is herself a doctor.

In addition, her husband Tom Price ran the Department of Health and Human Services under

Donald Trump, until he was forced to resign in disgrace for wasting resources.

Betty's not the only politician with something horrifying to say about queer people this

week.

Roy Moore, the twice-disgraced former judge in Alabama who is now running for Congress,

said this week that marriage equality is worse than slavery.

Specifically, he said, the Supreme Court ruling that granted marriage was worse than the Dred

Scott decision, which held that black people were property.

Alabama's special election is December 12, so we'll find out in a month and a half if

Moore will be bringing that attitude to Congress.

Also this week, the ACLU hit back at anti-gay activists and the Trump administration, filing

a brief with the Supreme Court in a wedding cake case.

That case is about more than just one cake -- it's about whether businesses should get

a loophole that allows them to turn people away if that business considers its work artistic.

That wouldn't just apply to queer couples -- if the cake shop gets their way in this

case, bakeries could also have a rule that no Mexicans are allowed, or florists could

turn away black customers.

Not surprisingly, the Trump administration filed a brief in the case in favor of discrimination.

The court will hear oral argument on December 5, with a ruling likely around June.

Over in Australia, the deadline has passed to participate in the national marriage survey.

This wasn't a vote -- just a questionnaire about whether the government ought to recognize

the marriages of queer people.

We'll get the official results in a few weeks, but for now it's looking like opinion is generally

trending toward equality.

But that doesn't mean anything will actually change -- for same-sex couples to finally

get legal recognition, politicians will first have to pass some legislation, which so far

they've been unwilling to do.

But the survey result could give them the push that they need.

Maybe.

For this week's action item: it's not too late to stop Roy Moore from being elected

to Congress, where he'd have control over committees, budgets, and appointments that

affect the entire country.

His rival in the election is a Democrat named Doug Jones, and polling has this race the

closest it's ever been since the 1960s.

Doug is just a few points behind but with help he could pull ahead -- go to DougJonesForSenate.com,

where you can donate, volunteer, or just sign up for his mailing list.

It's crucial that this election be Roy Moore's final defeat -- he could do unimaginable harm

if elected, whereas Doug Jones has been a civil rights attorney for decades.

And as always keep sharing these videos -- and let me know your thoughts in the YouTube comments

and @mattbaume on Twitter.

I'll debrief you next week.

The Disappointing Shady Side Of Zac Efron - Duration: 4:41.

Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron went from being a teen idol to an out of control party animal.

And for a hot minute, it seemed like the actor was going to fall victim to the same Disney

curse that has ruined the careers of other stars who got famous too young.

Fortunately, the actor sobered up and has reinvented himself both personally and professionally.

But now that he's in a better place, his checkered past still makes for an interesting history

lesson!

Let's take a look at the shady side of Efron.

A struggle with substance abuse

In 2013, news broke that Zac Efron had completed a stint in rehab — and it was heavily implied

that he'd been seeking treatment for alcoholism.

But during an appearance on Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Efron confessed to needing "a

social lubricant" just to leave the house in order to deal with the relentless pressure

of media scrutiny.

Rumors had been swirling for years that the actor's real issue wasn't booze, but cocaine.

Eventually, Efron admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that he was drinking too much, and

had abused drugs, too, saying, "It's never one specific thing.

I mean, you're in your 20s, single, going through life in Hollywood, you know?

Everything is thrown at you.

I wouldn't take anything back; I needed to learn everything I did.

But it was an interesting journey, to say the least."

A fight on Skid Row

Probably the craziest story to come out of Efron's party days was the time he ended up

in a fight with a bunch of homeless guys in Los Angeles, in the notoriously dangerous

area known as Skid Row.

Efron initially claimed that he and a friend ran out of gas in the sketchy neighborhood

and were attacked while they waited for an Uber.

But later reports suggested that Efron and his bodyguard instigated the fight by throwing

a bottle at a group of homeless people, leading to a brawl.

Whatever happened, Efron was definitely shaken by the fight, which he called one of the most

terrifying moments of his life… although occasionally, he still likes to live dangerously.

"I loved this suit before…" *smash*

An irreverent tweet

Even the fiercest fans of Zac Efron couldn't help cringing over this misstep, which began

with a badly botched public statement about Martin Luther King Jr.

"Oh geez, oh no, oh GOD!"

That was pretty much Twitter's reaction on Martin Luther King Day in 2016, when Efron

tweeted, "I'm grateful for a couple things today: Martin Luther King Jr & 10 million

followers on [Instagram]."

Needless to say, people weren't happy to see Efron equating the legacy of a civil rights

icon with his own Instagram follower count.

Efron quickly deleted the original tweet and apologized, but the memory of his poor judgment

lives on.

PDA problems

Fans had barely finished mourning Zac Efron's breakup with High School Musical co-star Vanessa

Hudgens when the unthinkable happened: Efron was photographed in what appeared to be a

PDA-filled frolic on the beach with fellow Disney alum and Hudgens' best friend, Ashley

Tisdale.

Sure, it turned out later that Efron was just attending Tisdale's birthday party — along

with several other guests, including her boyfriend at the time.

But when the tabloids started buzzing about a possible romance between the two, Efron

chose not to comment, which left Ashley Tisdale saddled with the responsibility of explaining

to angry High School Musical fans that she wasn't hooking up with her BFF's ex.

Worst birthday present ever, or worst birthday present ever?

The case of the red carpet condom

Efron has at times been unfairly saddled with a reputation for being a bit of a dudebro

— but he also wasn't doing himself any favors when a condom tumbled out of his pocket and

onto the red carpet at the premiere of the kids flick The Lorax.

Most celebrities would have died of embarrassment on the spot — but not Efron!

In an interview on the Today Show, he and Matt Lauer had a good laugh over the whole

incident.

"I mean, you know, better to be safe than sorry, am I right?"

"That's a great message to add to the many messages in the film."

On the one hand, you've got to admire Zac Efron's game.

Not everyone could turn an embarrassing mishap on the red carpet at a Dr. Seuss movie

into a teachable moment.

But if this is how he came prepared for the opening of The Lorax, we don't even want to

know what he had in his pockets at the Baywatch premiere.

A mysterious injury

Just a few months after his rehab stint, Efron took a nasty spill in his Hollywood Hills

home.

The actor reportedly broke his jaw, had to get it wired shut, and could only eat liquid

foods for six weeks — and of course, rumors immediately began swirling that the actor

had fallen while suffering a drunken relapse into his old bad habits.

But Efron swears that it was just a freak accident, which happened when he slipped on

a puddle of water and cracked his chin on the fountain in his house… because yes,

Zac Efron has a fountain in his house.

In this case, the actor probably isn't guilty of anything other than carelessness — and

maybe poor taste in decor.

YouTube Analytics Explained: The Workshop Tab of Morningfame - Duration: 4:44.

The Workshop tab on Morningfame gives you the information you need to grow your channel.

That's what's coming up next.

Hey, it me.

Brian G.

And on behalf of Nico and myself from Morningfame we wanna share how by leveraging the Workshop

tab.

Let's dive in.

And you'll notice that this section is broken up with views, watch time, engagement and

gained subscribers.

Now, going through these tabs will give you additional insights.

As you can see I am slightly underperforming on views.

However, when it comes to watch time I am doing great.

And this last one gets me fired up.

I am doing fantastic with gained subscribers.

Especially over the last 7 days and I am not surprised based on continuing to evolve and

work on my channel.

We'll talk more about that as we continue.

Now one of the things I really love about Morningfame is that the data that you're

looking at is based on your individual metrics on your channel.

And you'll notice this message here: "Sustain Last Week's Excellent Growth of New Subscribers".

And you see this is where things get really good because being a successful youtuber is

really about making better decisions to help you grow your channel.

So I am gonna click that button.

And what I notice is one of my videos actually gained 4 subscribers last week.

That's pretty darn good compared to the other videos that are also gaining subscribers

on my channel.

This is a proven winner and thus it would make a lot of sense to make a follow-up video

and drive more views and even more subscribers.

And this takes us to the "Create More of These" section.

This is so very powerful and this is really the heart of the message I want to share with

you today: When you see something that's working like these videos consider making

more videos on a similar topic.

And notice that two of my videos have gained a lot of subscribers recently.

And even more important, notice the word on both thumbnails: growth or grow.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my audience really responds to anything about

YouTube growth.

So it makes a lot of sense for me to focus on that type of video in the future.

And wouldn't you know that the video I posted yesterday also included the word "grow"

and did tremendously well.

Here we're looking at the Velocity tab and I'll cover that on another video on another

day.

Now, next up we have "Consider Growing the Amount of Subscribers Per Video".

This really goes into additional depth and analytics based on the successful videos that

are growing your channel.

Here you are presented your top performing videos when it comes to gaining subscribers.

Now one of the things I notice is my top 2 videos focus on the YouTube algorithm.

Now if we look at the four videos listed on the page you'll notice that we've got

additional analytical information based on views, watch time, engagement and gained subscribers.

These are really the four cornerstones of growth.

And every time I publish a video I am focussing on these things.

And this is where we talk about the 80-20 rule.

That is that 80 percent of your results, your growth on YouTube will come from 20 percent

of the videos you publish.

Think about that: You gonna publish 10 videos and most of your growth is gonna come from

just 2 of those 10 videos.

However, what we can do is use the analytics information in Morningfame to make better

decisions and to increase the number of videos in that 20 percent category.

Now below that section you'll see the "Instead of These Try Something New" section.

In here you'll see four videos or if you're like me you'll get this message saying everything

is good.

You're doing a fine job.

Keep moving on.

And really what Morningfame is doing is identifying videos that are underperforming.

However, let's continue to talk about the 80-20 rule.

Now I mention most of the time – about 70 percent of the time – I am gonna focus

on those subjects that I know convert viewers into subscribers for my channel.

However, 30 percent of the time I am gonna explore other areas.

And by areas I am really talking about keywords and topics that fall under the umbrella of

my niche.

And the reason being is simple.

I am looking for an even better topic when it comes to driving views and converting those

views into subscribers.

I don't wanna solely stick to what's worked because there might be some amazing topic,

an amazing keyword phrase and I'll only find that if I experiment.

And this is how I leverage the Workshop tab to continue moving forward to explore new

areas and to grow my channel.

I'd like to invite you to try out the Morningfame website.

Free of charge for 30 days.

Check out the link in the YouTube description below and I'll see you on the next video.
