Fehler Kette schmieren -- Fail Cahin Lube - Duration: 6:04.Hello girls and guys and welcome to a new video
from Eddie. Yes I have been asked a few times lately
why I have built an automatic Chain lubrication system. Yes,
I have already answered this in the video, the reason is actually,
because I find the constant lubrication when I am doing a long tour just very
annoying and I always have to take a chain spray with me and
that's why I decided to build an automatic chain lubrication system.
Besides, it was a winter project for me, for the time
where i can not motorcycling
and yes it was a task for me to build a chain lubrication very
cheap, so it was my task to build a
Chain lubrication under 50 euros. Well I have successfully
made one and yes i want now of course show an example how to not
make the chain, because that can go very obvious.
Here is the chain lubricated and here he tries
to strip off fat with a cloth
and comes with the Thumb in the chain and breaks
the dome of the thumb away it's stuck in the chain inside.
Yes you should never do that, so never smear the chain while the engine is running,
that's one absolute FAIL!
You can not do that, that's it biggest mistake you can do. If you
have no main stand then
lubricate her by pushing your motorbike, if you can do that, and smear the chain
or you put her on the Kickstand and place these rollers
under the rear wheel, that you can turn the wheel. Otherwise smears a part
of the chain pushe the motorcycle on and lubricates again a part of the chain,
that's how it's done right and then can also wipe it off again and
again, of course, again and again move a piece, so that another part of the
Chain, yes Sorry, that was Balu! Yes, so you can lubricate another part of the chain.
Of course the whole thing is, is not important if you have a main stand
and of course even more obsolete if you have a chain
lubrication, or bought one, or built it yourself, because then you don't have this problem
anymore. Of course you have the installation and you
also have the knowledge, that you one to twice a year, or maybe three times
if you drive a lot, the container have to be fill up, but otherwise you have
nothing to do than to see form time to time if even the
Chain lubrication, the hose of the Chain goes down properly,
otherwise hardly anything to do and if
you also use the right oil, so like me now, you don't need to
clean the plant hardly etc .. The only thing we still have to do from time to time
There is the chain line cleaner for chainsaws
normal, they are really great that is a chain oil but also at the same time
the whole thing cleans and that looks that no paraffin residues from the oil or otherwise
anything in the lead yourself,
and if you do that from time to time the chain is lubricated and
also the pipes are cleaned. This is a quite a great thing costs
a little more than a chain oil but that you will empty it once a year if you do at all
empty it or every two years and so everything is done. So do not commit
such mistakes, but be careful for your hands, you need them to brake,
for coupling, accelerating and operating the elements, so the switch and it
is also very painful to have this experience. So never
smear the chain with the engine running! Do not do that
to you and your body and take care of you! Yes, that's what stays with me
actually only one thing to say, as always, STAY UP!
And I would be glad if
we'll see each other again in the next video! See you!

Ask a Counsellor: How do I tell a loved one that I'm struggling with my mental health? - Duration: 2:59.It can feel impossible to talk to a loved one when you feel sad depressed or
upset
We feel when it comes to our mental health, that we should be able to cope
with whatever life throws at us. Think about it though, if you fell over and hurt your
arm, sprained your ankle, or broke your back, you talk to others about the
experience and about not being able to cope with life in that moment. When it
comes to our physical health, then we feel able to ask for help, but when it
comes to our mental health, we find it impossible to ask. So why should your
mental health be any different? What I want to do is share with you four steps
in order for you to ask for help when it comes to your mental health, so you can
start to grow, flourish, adapt, and conquer whatever life throws at you.
The first step is to find the right person. You might feel it's impossible to talk to
anyone else about problems you're having in regards to your mental health because
you feel you're gonna be judged, you're gonna feel criticised, and people just
won't understand what you're going through.
Which is why many people seek help from a counsellor or psychotherapist, however,
finding someone to talk to can help you to relieve stress, anxiety tension, and
the anguish that you're feeling throughout your life. So look in your
heart, find someone that you know that you can trust that won't judge you and
you feel able to connect to in that way. The second step is to find the right
place in order to have that conversation - maybe not in a public place like a restaurant
or a bar - find somewhere that you feel comfortable but you're not gonna be
interrupted or not be fearful that someone's gonna overhear your
conversation that you might not want. And the third step is to start small. I know it
might feel anxiety-provoking to start having that conversation with someone
because your issue might seem so big and so unmanageable, but if you start small
and go at your own pace, and then as the trust starts to grow and develop, let
that person into more of the issue. It's not about going in full force straight
away; start small and go at your own pace and don't feel pressured to tell anyone
anything that you don't feel ready to. The fourth step is to have courage. It
takes a lot to talk about the mental anguish that you've been going through
throughout your life. Society has taught you to keep calm and
carry on, and to distance yourself from those hard
to feel emotions, but by you watching this video, it shows that you've got the
courage in order to ask for help when it comes to your mental health issues.
Follow the steps that I've shown you throughout this video and you start to
realise that by asking for help it's going to lead you to feeling and living
a happier more productive life. A life without you having to carry around
all those hard to deal with emotions you'd have sorted them out and be living
the life of your dream. If you've got any questions you want meet us in a future
video why don't you send me an email. The address can be found just beneath this
video. Have a great day, take care, bye bye.

CD Video (Not Video CD) - when Videodiscs went gold - Duration: 21:55.Do you remember CD Video? Not to be confused with a Video CD which is a
format that came out in the 1990s. No CD Video came out in 1988 and is on
distinctive gold colored discs. Now to explain what this format is I've got a
promotional video for it from 1988 which I'm going to play you in a moment. I
should say though I've shortened this down a little bit there's a full version
of it available at the link in the video description text box and it has terrible
quality sound. I'll explain why that's the case in a moment but first
let's have a look at it.
Hello cuddly Ken here now you're probably
standing there wondering what this is well let me tell you it's the new CD Video
machine from Philips, yes pictures have at last arrived in a world of
digital sound.
This is it a CD machine that also plays pictures. All you need is a telly
and a hi-fi to get great pictures and CD sound in your home and you already know
how fabulous these are. Gone are the days of naff and fuzzy records, this machine
plays these CDs the same as any other CD player. But now CDs come in gold too.
What's the difference you may ask, well get one of these and all of a sudden
this happens. CD video is CD with pictures these gold five inch discs play a
video like this one but also have 20 minutes of sound only, and as if all that
wasn't exciting enough there are two new discs. This 8 inch disc plays 45 minutes
of full video and this 12 inch disc plays for 2 hours so anything's possible
on CD Video, music, TV programs, cartoons and movies. On 8 inch there are video
compilations from the world's top artists from Cameo to Curiosity
and Dire Straits to Deep Purple in fact all of this is available before Christmas.
Now you can see the music
Right so it just so happens I've got an example of all three sizes of CD Video
here and we'll have a look at these and as I go through them I'll explain why
the sound quality on that last clip was so poor. So this one is the same size as
a standard compact disc, on this particular one I've got three digital
audio tracks and one video which is a video of one of those tracks. So the idea
is you pick this up in a store and you get the music and you get the video to
go with it. Now you can see a noticeable join on here between the CD section in
the middle and the video section towards the outer edge. So if we put that into a
compact disc player it will read the CD section first because of course CDs read
from the inside to the outside, so it reads it as a three track CD and if you
press play just plays track one, the same as any normal compact disc. But if I put the
same disc in a device capable of playing CD Videos it skips past those three
digital audio tracks, go straight to track four and play that as a video.
Now if we move across to the 8-inch disc we can see that this one just contains
videos there are no isolated audio tracks although the audio that goes
along with these tracks is digital as well. Let's have a look inside at the
disc and we'll see on the sleeve there's a bit of information about the CD Video
system. It says CD Video represents the latest
development in the compact disc system, uniting the extraordinary sound of the
compact disc with the highest possible video quality, the CD video discs
remarkable performances is the result of laser optical scanning used for both the audio
and the video information stored on the disc.
Now whilst there's something very attractive about the gold color of these discs it isn't
something that's necessary for them to perform their function, I think it's
really just there to distinguish them from previous discs especially when it
comes to that smaller one so you don't mix it up with a standard compact disc.
But let's pop this one in the machine now and have a quick look at it.
Now moving on to the largest size discs this 12-inch one it's a little bit
unusual they decided to put these contents on this size of discs because
they only take up 41 minutes which would have fitted on that 8 inch disc but
perhaps they wanted everything all on one side of the disc so there wasn't a
break in the middle and as you can see when we have a look at this disc
everything is recorded on the other side. You should also notice that towards the
edge of the disc there's a darker area it's kind of cloudy, it looks dirty, well
it isn't dirt it's something that's known as disc rot and that's when the
layers of a disc starts to separate the sandwich of layers and of course that
then creates problems for the laser to read the disc. Let's just put this in
the Machine and see how that's affected the video playback performance.
Rock and Roll is a way of life that's erm you can't think of it as just a music form
if you live it you live it. You wake up in the morning you're brushing your teeth with it. you go to bed with it next to your pillow at
night so it's so that explains why that first clip that I played you was
suffering from such poor quality sound because the disc was suffering from disc
rots it seems like the digital soundtrack is the first thing to go. The
video while suffering from dropouts doesn't seem to suffer quite as badly.
But looking at this disc compared to the INXS disc this one looks like it's the
worst of the lot so let's put this one in the machine and see how it fares.
Yes on this one the digital audio soundtrack has completely gone, so no
matter how loud Levar Burton shouts into that megaphone
no-one is going to be able to hear him. Right now let's go back and have a look at
CD video in a bit more detail. Where it came from,
why it came out and why it disappeared so quickly. So you'll notice this
promotional disc is from 1988, that was the launch of the product in the UK and
you'll have also noticed earlier on I was playing back these CD video discs in
a Laserdisc player so what's the connection?
Well Philips along with MCA launched laserdisc in 1978. Laserdisc was an
analog format it confuses some people when they see it being on a disc and
being silver they think it's like a compact disc but no everything on it was
analog it was analog video, analog stereo audio, albeit read by a laser. Now of
course that disc then led to the development of the compact disc in the
1980s. Now compact disc is of course digital, so once they've figured out how
to make digital audio on a silver disc read by a laser
they then fold that technology back into laserdisc again and the first laserdisc
player that could play a digital audio track alongside the video was launched
in 1984 in Japan that was the Pioneer CLD 9000, and despite its not
inconsiderable price it was an immediate sales success for Pioneer. In Japan just
after launch it was selling 10,000 units per month. Meanwhile over in Europe
Philips weren't having any success at all they'd launched laserdiscs there in
1978 and had the European market to themselves but they really weren't
able to sell any machines. They just couldn't get anyone interested in the
format. Now I say anyone of course they had sold
some but the sales were pitiful. In this article from 1987 Philips estimated that
there were only between 12,000 and 15,000 Laservision players, as they called them,
in Europe. That's 15,000 sold in almost 10 years of the format being on the
market in all of Europe and over in Japan they were selling 10,000 of one
model per month back in 1984. But Philips had hatched a plan, with Laserdiscs now
capable of playing a digital audio soundtrack why not just start all over
again? Drop the Laservision name that hardly anyone was aware of, rebrand the
whole thing CD video and then you could piggyback on the success of compact disc
which had taken the market by storm. And that's exactly what they announced
we're going to do at lavish launch parties for this new format in March
1987 and after they'd launched their initial range of home devices they
planned on releasing portables with built-in screen so people could watch CD
Videos on the go. However a year later, March 1988, the product still wasn't
out. Phillips had encountered a number of problems. They'd had to switch the
production of the players from Belgium to Japan and also they were having
difficulties getting the players to read the discs properly because the
difference in weights between the different sizes of discs. Compact discs
runs at a different speed as well to a Laserdisc, so the whole thing was more
complicated than they anticipated and it must have been more than a bit
embarrassing for Philips who announced the format to find that Pioneer had been
able to develop their player that was capable of playing all three sizes of
discs without any problems, although it did this by having two different motors
in the machine which made it quite expensive. Philips wanted to keep their
machine down below £499. But Philips eventually managed to overcome
their technical difficulties and they launched the CD video product onto the
UK market on the 3rd of October 1988. Now as well as the Combi players which were
capable of playing all three sizes of discs, Philips also released smaller
players approximately the same size as a standard compact disc player, which could
only play the smallest size disc, the one the same size as a 12 centimeter CD.
I remember being slightly tempted by these when I saw them in the stores because
they didn't cost an awful lot more than buying a compact disc player, which was
still quite expensive at the time. But I remember what it was that put me off and
it was the medium-size discs. The fact that that machine wouldn't be able to
play them and there were quite a few titles on those that I was interested in
at the time. The large ones weren't too much of interest because they
just too expensive, but if I bought a machine that could only play the small
ones then I would have felt like I was missing out. So Philips in a way shot
themselves in the foot by offering too much choice. Now as well as all these
music titles they did release a range of movies on the CD Video format, on the
largest size disc which of course made them quite expensive but really these
are just Laserdiscs colored gold and with a digital audio soundtrack. Up until
this point in the UK though all the laserdisc players had only be able to
play analog soundtrack so if you wanted to play one of these back with the audio
intact you'd have to play it on one of the new
CD Video machines. Now the first time I ever saw Laserdiscs for sale in a store
wasn't when they were called Laserdiscs or even Laservision or Discovision or
VLP as Philips called it in the early days, no it was during the late nineteen
eighties relaunch as CD Video it will have been 1989 when I saw a display in
my local HMV they got a whole area to these at all the different sizes were
lined up with a big marquee and promotional literature being given out
it was quite impressive. To anyone walking in looking at it, it
looked like the latest and greatest thing. We'd gone from CD and we were now
moving to CD Video. But I was aware that Laserdisc had been around for many years
before then because I followed the technology news so I'd seen Laserdisc
when it was launched in the late 1970s on the BBC TV show Tomorrow's World, I
was aware of Laserdisc be used inside arcade games like Dragon's Lair for example and
in the BBC Doomsday projects as the storage format for the data to be read
off by the BBC Master computers. So to me when I saw these on the shelves I
thought, well that's just Laserdisc again. But it doesn't mention anywhere on the
packaging of this that it has anything to do with Laserdiscs or Laservision. But
despite this attempt to relaunch the product as new it didn't have any more
success in the market than Laserdiscs or Laservision had had before it. The CD
Video name disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared. It's quite easy to
see why it wasn't a success it doesn't take a genius.
Most of the discs weren't these larger ones they were the smaller
ones with pop music on with a few tracks and a video or maybe just a few
videos on there. Well the market for pop music videos tends to be younger people
and who doesn't tend to have £499 to spend on a player?
Well that's younger people as well and the discs weren't cheap. So it's obvious
the whole thing was never going to be a success it's just too expensive for the
market that it's aimed at.
Now in my opinion the whole former of CD video is
a bit of a kludge what I mean by that is that this is CD video these standard 12
centimeter CDs with video on them. The other things that came along with it
and were rebranded CD video had already existed in the market of course the
larger size discs, well those are just Laserdiscs or Laservision discs with a
digital audio soundtrack. Players for Digital Audio soundtrack Laserdiscs had
existed since 1984 so that was nothing new. You might think that the medium
sized discs were something that had just been introduced along with this format,
but no again those had been out for a number of years I've got a disc here
Madonna's Like A Virgin, this is from 1984 this is from Japan. In fact a bit of
an interesting thing about this disc, you'll notice the Laserdisc turtle on
this side, which means flip it over and play the other side. Well the other side
of course you can't play that because it's actually just white plastic that's
a bit like doing a picture disc I suppose but with Laserdisc, two layers
sandwich together. It's the other side that plays because of course Laserdiscs
play from the underneath But back to the CD video and this really is the essence
of the format, this standard 12 centimeter CD size one. The others
just got caught up in the rebranding but really those are Laserdiscs or LaserVision discs.
This is a CD that can play video and as we mentioned before we've got the CD section on the inside the video section on the outside.
But that video just like in the case of Laserdiscs is Composite Analog Video. In this
case it's PAL, it does have a digital soundtrack accompanying it, but the video
itself is analog. So this explains why the disc is split into two and in
particular why the analog video has to be on the outer section because that's
the only part the disk that spins fast enough to be
able to reproduce video. So the physical limitations of the disk ended up
creating the end product because you've only got room for about six minutes
worth of video, well it's not much you can put in there other than a pop music
promo and then you've got that space in the middle that you can't really do much
with other than perhaps stick some digital audio in there. Let's call it 'CD Video'.
Now this rather slapdash approach to creating a new format annoyed the
Japanese manufacturers because up until this point CD had been an agreed
standard but the problem with the Philips format was that you could only
play the PAL discs in the PAL territories and the NTSC discs in the
NTSC territories. What was once a worldwide format is now being segregated.
They didn't like that at all, but perhaps it didn't matter because technology
moved pretty quickly in the eighties. Just a year after the launch of CD video
in the UK in 1989 there's this article talking about the upcoming digital video
formats. Philips apparently had been working on CDI for five years by this
point, so of course that predates CD Video coming out, and they were only able
to get it to play crude video in a corner of the screen.
However due to a breakthrough that occurred in digital video compression in
1987 you were now able to get 72 minutes worth of fullscreen moving video on a
single compact disc. So naturally Philips as well as other
manufacturers around the world started to concentrate their attentions on this
new digital video. Which ultimately resulted in the new format video CD that
Philips released in the early 1990s. Where you could hold a full movie on two compact discs,
and that explains why Philips lost interest in the CD Video format in the
late 1980s, they were concentrating their attentions on bringing out the new
digital format just a few years later. They'd tried to sell Laservision since
the late 1970s without any success this CD Video rebranding hadn't really
done anything to help it, and within just a couple of years the CD Video name
disappeared from the market.
Now while that might be the end of CD Video it
certainly wasn't the end of Laserdisc. Laserdisc was the name that Pioneer had
given to the format that Philips called Laservision. As we saw earlier on
they were doing fine over in Japan, they weren't doing too bad in the US and
they'd been there since the very early days as well, but they'd now become
effectively the worldwide distributor for laserdisc players and they hit it at
just the right point when the collector's market kicked in for
widescreen special editions with directors commentaries and of course one
of the big things that appealed to the collectors at the time was those digital
soundtracks that have been added on in the mid-1980s so you could argue that
Philips had dropped out at exactly the wrong point but I think it's quite
possible that CD Video would never have been this success that laserdisc was albeit
ever so briefly in the mid 1990s. So there you go that was a look at CD Video
A format that is often and not unsurprisingly confused with Video CD.
It doesn't help that Philips launched both of them and they reuse the logo from CD Video
on VCD, just swapping two of the words around. Now VCD didn't really have
much success when it was launched in the west in the early 1990s. You're probably
aware it's a digital format, it uses MPEG 1 encoding and it splits a film usually
across two CDs. But because it was cheap to reproduce those CDs it did meet with
a lot of success in the Asian market. Right up until recently you could still
buy new films on VCDs. So it had a run of over 25 years now I've just looked
online and I can't see any brand new releases on the format the most recent
one came out in November 2017 so maybe it's dead or maybe it's just having a
rest and pining for the fjords.
But anyway that's it for the moment.
As always, thanks for watching

BREAKING NEWS Out Of BRONX, NY…. THEY JUST FOUND IT! THIS IS REALLY BAD!- BreakingNews24 - Duration: 23:17.BREAKING NEWS Out Of BRONX, NY….
THEY JUST FOUND IT!
THIS IS REALLY BAD!
This is a sick story about how some scumbags live and the details are totally disgusting.
Apparently two Bronx parents, both which have respectable professions have been raising
their children in a rat infested, feces-stained apartment covered in heaps of garbage.
First of all I would never have a wife that is a filthy slob and secondly, there are people
that are professionals that clean and maintain homes.
I have a crew of house cleaners come on a monthly basis and it costs $145 although I
give them $200 because I'm a nice guy and I know it helps them out a lot.
The The New York Post has more:
"You had to do everything you could to not throw up," a police source said of the putrid
Kingsbridge Avenue apartment where the couple's 5-year-old son was found alone amongst the
filth Friday.
The crying tot was rescued by a horrified FedEx deliveryman who came by to get a signature
on a package.
Once he got a glimpse of the repulsive pad where Charlotte Lewis, 48, and husband Wilfred
Lewis, 59, lived, he ran to get the nearest authorities, police sources said.
The mom, a nurse at Montefiore Medical Center, was arrested at work, while the dad, an adjunct
professor at TCI College of Technology and an MTA worker, surrendered to the 50th Precinct
station house, sources said.
The family's other children — two girls, 12 and 13, and a 15-year-old deaf boy — were
in school at the time.
"I won't leave him alone anymore," the boy's father tried to reassure cops after
he was arrested for leaving the boy unsupervised, according to police sources.
He also claimed his son was "self-sufficient."
The parents were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and failure to exercise
control of a minor.
The mother's Facebook profile picture paints a wildly different story, showing her smiling
with her kids in front of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree with a border that reads,
"Live.
Laugh.
Love."
The children appear happy, well fed and clean.
One neighbor, however, had noticed the fetid conditions before.
"A couple of times they would leave the door open and I would always tell my boyfriend
'Oh that house is kind of disgusting,'" Deanna Strom, 27, told The Post.
Among the rubble, police found hundreds of black flies, maggots and bedbugs and a completely
empty refrigerator, police sources said.
The family had also been contacted by the Administration for Children's Services multiple
times, sources said.
How and why would these people live like this?
Absolutely disgusting.

How can UX Design affect your SEO? | Optimisey - Duration: 21:00.So welcome to our talk: How can UX effect your SEO? I'm Nick
Duffield I'm a user experience designer for a company called E-Life Sciences in
Cambridge. My path to UX is a very typical one: I started off as a graphic
designer first of all, made my way into web design
and then transitioned into UX design. Some of the companies I work for: people
like Microsoft Research in Cambridge I developed websites and mobile
applications for that company for their research groups and both in marketing
departments. Right now I work creating tools for scientists to help them
communicate their work. So today's talk we're going to tell you about an SEO
project that both Kamil and I worked on, in particular the types of things
that we learned doing this type of work and the insights that we gained. I think
an interesting thing about the project is that we changed our own ideas about
SEO - we found that our own discipline of UX design played a bigger part
in this stuff than we initially thought. I think a good place
to start is for Kamil to give you his perspective on what UX design is.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen my name is Kamil. I'm an experience designer at
Cambridge English. I work on digital tools for... I help to build digital tools
for learners and teachers and my background same like Nick's - is in graphic
design I've been doing this for over a decade now working on both printed and
digital media and how I transitioned to experience design - or maybe the better
question is why I transitioned to experience design - it's because of
situation I'm about to tell you. So one day up I was given a brief for design a
poster and it was pretty simple. Create an artwork for the event, include
information of what it is, when it is, where it's going to be held, simple job. I quickly
completed the job and hand it over for approval. And three days later eventually
I managed to get some feedback from the stakeholders and first thing they asked
me: to make logo bigger - it's like because the logo cannot be big enough.
And then they say 'Can you move the headline a little bit to the top? And the
support things a little bit to the left?' And I'm thinking to myself 'What
difference is it gonna make? Why are you doing this?' like and it's pretty much
same story throughout my career there's always seem to be a person who
was a specialist and better how to design and they knew how to do it better
than me. And it always made me think 'Why did I do it? How can I prove that my work
and what I do works?' and so I started researching on internet how to prove to
how to communicate my designs better how to how to create designs that work and
more and more often I started coming across user experience design. So I started
learning and reading about it got into it and pretty much that's how I got
my transition to experience design. But what is experience design? So it's a
design process. It's a process where all the decisions are based around user
needs and their behaviors and today we're going to focus on mainly three
elements because there's plenty of stuff that's included in experience design but
today we're going to focus on three elements that I think may have the
biggest impact on your SEO ranking. So it's interaction design - oh I should have
done it earlier - interaction design, information architecture and UI design
commonly known as user interface design. And some of the tools I use on a daily
basis to achieve a greater information architecture or great visual designs:
stuff like user research, user surveys, interviews, card sorting exercises or
competitive analysis. And one great tool - one more tool that I tend to use - there's
more internal stuff if before you go outside is workshop, design workshops.
This is trying to invite people from not only your own department where you work
we're trying to get people from other departments and brainstorm
some ideas. And by having people who who are not familiar with the product that
you are working on you kind of get a different perspective. And you can see
how others understand product you're working on and it's quite helpful. And
how the UX and SEO are connected how the two work together?
I'll let Nick to share his insights and findings. [Nick] So an idea for a project: SEO and UX.
I'd been doing a lot of training and stuff like that and trying to figure out how
to turn research insights gathered through tools like Google Analytics and
feed that into my design process. I mentioned to Kamil that I was interested in this
type of stuff and he suggested that I look at a course called the Digital
Garage by Google. So I don't know whether you're familiar with this course? But it's,
it's very basic and it's aimed at very small businesses to increase their
presence on the Internet. While working through the course a few
things stood out to me: firstly the course recommended creating and crafting
content in a meaningful way for site visitors. UX would call this information
design or information architecture. I think - and I'll just mention something
about that to you - it also recommended speaking to your customers and
understanding how they describe your content and speaking to them so that
when you do write and create this content you do it in a more meaningful
way to them. It's just typical user research there - we do it all of the time
and we use that to inform our design process. On top of that it recommends
optimising your site and that's, what they mean by that, is making it work in
an expected way for users. And you know like it when you make your journey
through a website, clicking links and hitting buttons and all of that stuff
that's just typical interaction design. It's just textbook UX. So when we were
getting started on the project we needed a guinea pig. And what we wanted to do
was speak to a local business and see if they would let us use their site to figure
all of their stuff out and try new skills. My hope was - we were going to
improve their site.
Getting started we had a few questions. We knew the store that we that we were
looking for would have would need to poor indexing. If it did we needed
to know why that would be. If users found these sorts of pages we'd need to know
how they use them. If competitors were doing better with
their indexing than them we need to figure out what that would be. So with
all of these questions we had a basic outline for our project. We went and
proposed this to a friend of mine who had a failing business. He had good footfall
but the actual website that he had wasn't performing very well. To kick the
project off we divided all of this work into interests for both myself and
Kamil. He carried out certain parts of the project.
Things like analysing Google Analytics I was interested in, in the Google Search
Console to figure out why this guy's site was indexed so badly or their
ranking was poor. And we proposed all this stuff to the guy and then he
was interested. And we said look here's the deal: we're going to learn stuff by
performing all of these things on your site and as a trade what we will do will
write a report up and share this with you and you can do what you want with it.
You can give that to a developer if you want to make those changes that's great
and that's that's pretty much the trade we made. I think it's probably a good
time for Kamil to tell you about the types of work that he was engaged in
while doing that stuff. [Kamil] So we kicked off with looking at - they gave us access to
their analytics dashboard - and we kicked off by just having a general overview of
how their website performs. So we compared the data from 2015 and 2016 and
the things we wanted to search for was potential problems, look at the flows we
wanted to learn how many visits they get, how often the visits happen and the
conversion - the basic conversion rate. And the key findings from just looking at
analytics we learned that the visits to online store and the physical store
were pretty much - there was no surprises there - it pretty much matched so there
was highs in January and December for for the sale period, then slight dip,
slight increase in sales again over the the summer period because this is an extreme
sports shop - so kind of a muchness there was no surprises. We had a look at
demographics and from demographics we learned that most of the visits were
quite local, which again although sad it wasn't anything that would surprise
us because we knew that they ranked quite poorly so we didn't expect the
website to reach distant customers. But the big stat, the big
discovery, it was like a golden nugget - at least for us - they had a 90% dropout rate
at the checkout. That's one out of 10 people completing a purchase. Obviously
it was horrible news for the owner but great news for us. For us it was another
piece of research we could do - prepare some hopefully works, work on some fixes
and improve it. So we got that all this insight,
presented it to Nick's friend, and we told him what work we'd like
to do next. And he agreed for us to carry on with the project. And the first thing
we did - with help of the guys in the store - we organised a day of in-store usability
studies. So we got the script ready, because it's useful to run studies by a
script, we divided our roles. Nick was the interviewer, I was observer and
note-taker. And we set up a goal. And the goal on that day was to learn why people
are dropping at the checkout. And on top of it we thought, by observing, we can
learn how people are using the website in general. We managed to get eight or
nine subjects - I mean subjects - people actually who came to the store and
we asked them to purchase a product using the website. Whether they'd
wanted to use their mobile device - or we had the tablet available and computer - asked
them to search for the product they came to buy and complete the purchase using
the online store. And the insights we got from this: we learned
why there was a dropout rate: because people couldn't - first - they couldn't find
the checkout button. Second thing, once they found it, they couldn't identify the
pay button because it didn't look like a button. Another thing we learned, as an
extra, it took quite a long time and a significant amount of
pages for for people to scroll through to get to the desired item. And there
was a small problem with the oversized cookie message - so it is pretty much
would fill the whole screen on a mobile device. So we knew what's wrong: then we
had to fix it. So we again split the duties. Nick was going to go and create a
set of wireframes to present a new checkout procedure, a new
button how it would look. And what I wanted to do is to work on the
information architecture of the website, that I was hoping, is going to reduce the
search time of the items. And in ideal world, where you have budget, stuff like
that would be probably best to do with a group of 20 people in a room like
this and and do something we call card sorting exercise. But as our project
was more for us to learn, it was pro bono, we didn't have no budget.
Our budget was zero. We had to be quite creative on it. So I thought as the
saying goes: 'Good designers copy, great designers steal' and I'm a great designer
- I'd like to think - so [Nick: One of the best!] yeah! But in a design
world, or in the UX world we don't call it stealing.
We call it 'recycling of well understood patterns' yeah? So the best way
to do it on the cheap, as in for free, I took top ranking for competitive
websites, scan the the website, check how they group the items, how how they
structure their information, mapped it out and look for overlapping patterns. And
based on the findings I designed a brand new architecture for the shop we're
working for. And because, in a situation like that, there's no sense
reinventing the wheel. Those guys ranking on the top, which means: their customers
like it, it works for them, it's gonna work for us. And I'm gonna let Nick now
speak about the whole journey of wireframes and Search Console. [Nick] Okay so for
my part, the Search Console, it threw up a couple of recommendations. Stuff that need
fixing. So that what happened is the staff, when
they create new pages, have been doing a typical 'Save as' type of thing and what
they hadn't been doing was changing the page titles, things like the meta
descriptions and the keywords they were associated with these pages. So 65 pages
had duplicate page titles, 822 - I don't know how they managed to get that number -
had duplicate meta descriptions and there were just like an abundance of
duplicated keywords there. It just it resulted in completely inaccurate page
information for search results. Google called this out, I made a report for these
guys and tried to write content in a structured way so they could use it.
Because, don't forget, these guys are just regular shop owners. They don't know
anything about design, they don't understand programming or any of that
stuff they don't really know anything about websites. So what they needed was a
structure that they could follow and work with when they were creating their content.
So my proposed fix was this: for each page title, to start that off with the
brand of the item, the name of the item and then separate that with a hyphen and
then describe the item in some way. There could be a detail of some sort, in this
instance that was the color, and then to reference the title at the very end
with the actual store name. So the neat thing is about this it gave them a very,
very simple structure to follow and they could just roll these things out as they
needed to which cut down on all this duplication that they were seeing.
Hopefully that would, they would result in better indexing, better ranking
hopefully and it should fix their problem. And then you know my advice was
to do this for a couple of sections of your website
and see how this goes and if you start to see in an improvement
in your in your indexing and ranking and stuff like that then you know you're
doing something right and you can continue this out through the rest of
the site. Another thing that I had to help with was this checkout
experience issue that these guys had had. So what was going on there is that um
they had key call to actions just buried in side-bar navigation so it was just like
a regular old link but it was the most important thing on a page. What we
found customers were doing is that they knew how to add items to their shopping
cart but they just couldn't get to the checkout because this thing was just a
minor link like in their peripheral vision. And so a fix for that was a set
of wireframes - I mean they don't look like anything special we didn't have
time or budget to do any any huge visual design improvements. I don't think they'd
have accepted that sort of stuff even if we did because they had their way of
thinking about their website - what I suggested was instead of turning this
this little button here, which is just a piece of text, leaving it like that and
then that sort of like highlighting or underlining in a very simple way - make
that a huge great button so when something gets added to a cart this thing then
lights up and we get some sort of ribbon strip that gets tacked to the bottom of
the browser window showing that you've added an item to your cart. There's
a secondary button there so if you miss that one you're going to be able to see
that and through that you'll be able to navigate your way to the checkout and
then pick your gateway of choice and then follow that through to make
your payment. By proposing this fix we saw over the following month like a
twenty percent increase in sales conversions which was a massive win for
those guys. So all of this work we completed there we handed our report to
the shop, we got the developer to do some of this work in our report. What we did
we prioritised the stuff that they needed to do in order as fixes to their
website. We said we know you don't have time and money and
experience and all of this stuff, so do what you can right? Just doing one thing
off this list is going to help you. That was one of those things I think,
currently they're still working on improving their site. Time, money, budget,
people all of that stuff so you know over the next year hopefully though they
will get their site in order. I think a key thing for them is better indexing.
What I did explain to them: the being found is only part of the user's journey.
Once they get to your site they need to be able to know how to use it. The
content needs to make sense and it needs to work in a way that they
expect it to. They can make purchases or do the things that they
want to do, if it's a blog they might want to read content and then find other
bits of content thats of interest to them. So however you piece your site
together it should make sense and the best way to do that sort of thing is to
ask your customers what they want, understand the way that they think about
your site, and then optimise your site accordingly. So I think a good thing to
do now I'll hand you back to Kamil he can give you some wrap-up there so
thanks a lot. [Kamil] So I think all of us it's safe to say that although my job
title is Experience Designer some of you are marketers, SEOs I think it's
safe to save that, deep inside, all of us are user experience designers.
Although our disciplines are slightly different we have the same goal. The goal
is to provide our customers, and people who use our products, with the
best possible experience they we can get - with, we want to leave them with a
smile on their face and we're hoping that they're gonna keep coming back to our -
buy our product for more and more. And all the stuff we describe and the research,
although it sounds like it's time-consuming and an expensive thing to do
it's not really. As I told you like you can do stuff like information
architecture, you can do almost for free. And there's plenty of other resources
available on the web and on the internet that can help you, other tools
that can help you understand your users better. And as long as all
the decisions you guys make are based around user behavior and their needs, you
should have plenty of successes. And all it takes is to start a conversation with
your customers. And from my experience people are normally quite
happy to talk - especially if there's a problem - that they will tell you how to
fix it. You don't even have to think of it because sometimes they've already come up
with the solution. And I said as long as all the decisions are made around their
needs you should be fine. And one thing I think both of us would like you guys to
take away from today's talk: optimise for your audience - not the search engines.
Thank you very much - thank you for listening.
[applause]

Hibernate Tip: The Fastest Option to Remove a List of Entities - Duration: 3:21.Hi, I'm Thorben Janssen from thoughts-on-java.org
with a new Hibernate Tip.
I was asked for the fastest option to delete a bunch of database records.
So, here it is.
JPA and Hibernate provide 2 general options to remove entities.
The most common one is the remove method of the EntityManager.
It is easy to use but
also very inefficient if you need to remove a list of entities.
For each of the entities you want to delete,
Hibernate has to load the entity,
perform the lifecycle transition to the state removed
and trigger the SQL DELETE operation.
That requires at least 1 query to load all entities
and an additional SQL DELETE statement for each of them.
So, when you use this approach to remove 100 entities,
Hibernate has to perform at least 101 SQL statements.
It's often better to remove such a list of entities with a JPQL query.
Similar to SQL,
you can define a JPQL DELETE operation
that removes all entities with just 1 statement.
Let's take a look.
Here you can see a JPQL query that removes all Author entities
with an id included in this list.
But be careful, this approach has a drawback.
Hibernate doesn't load the entities and
doesn't perform the lifecycle state transition to removed.
That provides substantial performance benefits,
but it also prevents Hibernate from updating its caches,
including the 1st level cache,
and from triggering any lifecycle events or listeners.
You should always call the flush and clear method
on your EntityManager
to detach all entities from the current persistence context
and to clear the 1st level cache before you perform
a JPQL UPDATE or DELETE statement.
I get into more details on that in my Hibernate Tip video:
How to detach an entity from the persistence context.
I'll add a link to it to the video description.
OK, that's it for today.

RESTOL Special Rescue Squad (레스톨 특수구조대) Episode 26 Subbed - Duration: 22:53.Wait Maru
Why? What's wrong?
The planes are leaving.
What are you talking about? I'm having fun in here.
That's not what I'm saying. Look there.
Oh. You're right.
I think they're programmed to stay within a certain distance.
Which means we can't even lure them somewhere else.
Then we should take the bull by the horns.
How can we face them when they're self-destructing?
We don't have any other way. Let's do as what Maru said.
If we don't penetrate the defense barrier then we can't go anywhere near the terrestrial magnetic amplification device.
What's happening?
Do you think this is caused by the meridian point activity?
But nothing happened until just now.
There's no way Heron would activate the meridian point in the place where he is. Don't you think so Boss?
Oming, analyze the situation and find out what's going on.
Got it.
It's right. It's definitely caused by the meridian point activity.
What?
What's Heron scheming again?
Did you look at it correctly Oming?
Saw it right Maru. There's no doubt.
Don't tell me…?
Commander
The terrestrial magnetism is plunging.
The locations of the meridian point are changing.
It seems the meridian point is out of Heron's control.
The meridian point is certainly blowing up.
Did you say blowing up?
What's going to happen if the meridian point blows up?
All the controls are uncontrollable. Everything is completely out of control. Please give us an order, vice president!
Test it again.
The meridian point system won't easily collapse. The meridian point system I created is perfect.
We can't last any longer.
Oh no..
It's too late. You have to decide now.
Decide what?
To all, give up the control room and evacuate to the submarine underground!
Hanse! What are you doing?
We're done. The meridian point can't be controlled by humans anymore. You must abandon the tower!
I can't!
The meridian point system was perfect.
Where did it go wrong?
The meridian point system was perfect!
It was perfect!
It's the fifth meridian point.
The destruction of the fifth meridian point tower by the Solaris satellite.
It wasn't able to complete the meridian point network.
Therefore, the meridian point network can't be complete.
Kain.. It's all because of Kain..
What do you mean?
You mean Heron can't control the meridian point?
That's the only way we can see it.
I think Teo is right.
The terrestrial magnetism level is violently fluctuating.
This can't happen if Heron is controlling it.
Then we don't have a choice. Let's storm into the tower.
It'll be too late if we get rid of the terrestrial magnetic amplification device after the tower collapses.
Teo, why hesitate?
OK, good. We'll break through the airplanes.
Let's go!
They're coming this way.
Punky!
Mia! Are you all right?
This won't do, boss. At this rate, the RESTOL will be destroyed first.
We don't have any other choice. If we don't penetrate the defense barrier then it'll be end of mankind.
We must penetrate that defense barrier at any cost.
I have a plan.
Kang Maru! What are you planning to do?
Teo, I'll lure them. In the meantime, attack the barrier forming device, ok?
No! It's too dangerous..
Try and catch me!
Hey nuts! Tease-ya!
Do it now Teo!
OK! Attack!!
Cease-fire!
Probably it turned into a junk by now.
They're leaving!
Maybe they don't have a reason to attack us because the barrier forming device disappeared.
Oming, how about the space barrier?
It worked. The space barrier is disappearing.
Good job Maru. Now, we just have to get rid of the terrestrial magnetic amplification device.
Let's go!
Kang Maru, I won't forgive you if you act by yourself again.
Anyway we were able to complete our first mission thanks to me.
Kang Maru! You!
Ahh ok ok got it!
When we're done with this mission, I'll first go take a bath...
How is the World Government doing?
There's no particular movement.
Even though the magnetic storm is weaker than before but a normal plane can't fly at this point.
They can only barely contact.
I got it.
Any call from the World Government?
There's none.
Vice-president, the submarine is in stand-by.
Where will I go at this situation?
But the tower won't last much longer.
As long as all the meridian point started to blow up, there's nowhere safe.
Nowhere in this world.
I'll stay here to the end until the World government surrenders.
While waiting to be the first and the last king of the United World Government.
We still have hope left.
If the RESTOL squad gets rid of the terrestrial magnetic amplification device, we'll be able to stop the collapsing of the meridian point.
The RESTOL Special Rescue Squad?
Better give up that foolish hope.
I've planned a final program which will activate in case the RESTOL squad comes. Even I can't stop it.
If the RESTOL Squad walks in to the distance where their external control activates..
All the RESTOL will end up as tin can robots.
There's the terrestrial magnetic amplification device.
Hurry, load your missiles.
What's happening?
What's happening?
The RESTOL stopped..
The machine isn't working.
The RESTOL is stopped by the external control.
No way…
Look there.
They're here again.
I'll end this now!
Kang Maru!
Maru! How can Unit 3 move?
I've prepared beforehand for a situation such as this!
Take this!!!
Maru! There's no way you removed your external control device!
What 'no way'?
You fool!
The external control device is the RESTOL pilot's best safety function! But!?
But that best safety function turned into the biggest weakness ending us like this.
Then…
Here it comes again!
It's broken!
So you were with Jei in the repair room because of this, Maru?
Yup. Talk to you later. I'm in a middle of something right now.
Mia!
Kang Maru!
Even my gun's broken.
I won't yield even an inch from this!
Laser blade!
How can that move?
It seems the external control device is removed.
That's Unit 3 right?
Yes sir.
The last kid who was chosen.
And you brought him in, Hanse.
Yes.
Last one!
Now, I just have to get rid of the terrestrial magnetic amplification device.
Rest in here first.
I'll go finish it.
Wait Maru!
The other RESTOLs can't move even an inch.
It'll be dangerous if you go there alone without any cover.
The other RESTOLs can't stand the magnetic field.
I'm aware of that.
But do we have any other choice? What would you if you were in my shoes Teo?
Kang Maru…
I know you all feel the same as I do.
But you would all do the same thing if you are in my position.
However, I'm the one doing it now.
Kang Maru!
Maru!
Here I go! RESTOL Unit 3!
Maru..
Be careful Maru.
Can't stop now!
RESTOL, hang in there a bit more.
Take this!
Kang Maru!
Maru!
Maru!
This is bad.
The RESTOL can't move.
How can this…
Maru..
There's no other way.
This is the end.
40 percent of glacier lost.
The melting speed has accelerated.
The rescue squad in every area stopped the rescue operation.
The terrestrial magnetism level continuously increasing.
Every area 90 percent lost communication.
We can't further figure out the situation of the damage.
In the end…
Can't do…
Any call from the World Government?
None. The external communication is lost.
But I will still wait until they crown me.
Hanse, why aren't you going yet?
There's no way out anymore.
It's fine. I'm afraid this is the end.
Hanse, I'm sorry.
It's the Shell Diver!
It's a call from the Shell Diver.
Shell Diver respond. The signal is unstable. Shell Diver! Shell Diver!
I'm not sure if you can hear me well.
Captain..
The Shell Diver is now heading to the Lucifer tower.
The support team and the pilots climbed the mountain.
I'm the only one left here in the Shell Diver.
I'm planning my final attack against the Lucifer tower with the Shell Diver.
What did you say?
Captain Kou, can you hear me?
Commander Reth, fortunately you can hear me.
What are you thinking now Captain Kou?
If it's possible for the Shell Diver to fly, it means it's the last hope of humankind.
I'll smash the magnetic amplification device with the Shell Diver.
You can't do that Captain Kou!
We don't have any other way.
As you know, only the Shell Diver can move.
But…
Captain Kou…
You would've done the same as I did if you were in my position, Commander.
Or any other would've done the same.
However, I'm the one in this position.
If the RESTOL Special Rescue Squad is listening to what I'm saying, lastly I want to say this.
RESTOL Special Rescue Squad, you did your best.
You got rid of the space barrier.
So thanks to you, we have our last hope.
Captain Kou…
It was a fortunate for me and world to work with you.
Captain…
I wish you all the best…
Captain...
I'm proud of you, RESTOL Special Rescue Squad.
Captain!
No captain!!
The terrestrial magnetism level is weakening.
Commander, the magnetic level is decreasing.
The atmosphere is back to normal.
The entire places are getting back to normal.
Captain Kou…
Search the places with available communication
Deploy the support team.
Contact the GEONOID headquarters and tell them to resume rescuing every area.
The RESTOLs are somewhere near the Lucifer tower.
Send the Shell Diver rescue team there as soon as possible.
I still can't believe it. It feels like Captain Kou is alive.
Yes. Captain Kou is alive.
He's in our hearts. Always proud of us.
And as a hope.
Hey stop!!
You!! Stop!!

Tottenham vs Man Utd 2-0 - TACTICS TOTTENHAM in 2 MINUTES - ⚽ Premier League 31/01/18 ⚽ Ita/Eng/Esp - Duration: 2:03.System: 1-4-2-3-1 - Manager: M.Pochettino
Action beginning: the maneuver is mainly initiated by the CDs, which pass the ball laterally to the FB - during this phase, Eriksen (23) plays more centrally, while Son (7) more laterally
Action developping: the action is mainly developed by going to play centrally and then return to the lateral zones - the alternative is to continue playing centrally relying on free players
Action finalizing: the action is mainly finalized through high passess to the box coming from the external zones by FBs or attacking midfielders - another option is that of the low passes to one of the free attacking midfielder
Positive transitions: when the team recovers the possession the players direct the game forward, trying to attack quickly in the central zones
Negative transitions: when the team loses the ball, the players go forward pressing the opponents - when is possible, players create situations of 2vs1
NON-possession phase: in the non-possession phase, the lateral attacking midfielders are raised on the opposing FBs, while the central attacking midfielder goes on the free CD - the two FBs are raised on the opposing lateral attacking midfielders - so the team passes to a sort of 1-2-4-4, adopting an ultra-offensive pressing style
Where the team has excelled: the defense proved to be very good at countering air attacks - the high and aggressive pressing was well executed, leading the team to recover several balls in advanced areas and affecting the start of the opponent's maneuver - the team was psychologically strong to defend the advantage obtained in the first minute of game, maintaining an orderly organization
Where the team has excelled: the defense players often appeared too wide, giving the opponents the opportunity to play deep risking some dangers - the team was at times too flat (with up to 7 men on the same line), going to lose efficency in the positive transition phase - the team allowed to the opponents too many advantages on the second balls, granting some more possession to Manchester United
