crafters its Hannah from handcrafted cards.com welcome to my channel today
and welcome to part two in the video tutorial part one was over on Facebook I
showed you how to make the base of the box the the cake and then in this part
part two will be completing the whole of the little centerpiece I'm calling it a
wedding centerpiece I think it would be perfect for so don't forget to Like
comment and subscribe and we will get started so part 1 of this tutorial I
made this little box and that's over on my Facebook page so if you don't know
how to make this using the window box die check that out afterwards I do have
other tutorials using the window box die here on Facebook and I will link one of
those on the iCard as well so you've got a couple of places you can watch that
part so for this part we need to get the scoring board and our first piece of
cardstock is 9 inches by 4 and 1/2 yeah and so this one you're gonna score it at
every one and a half inches so one and a half three four and a half six seven and
a half and oh shoot oh dear this should be known and a half ah darn it kind of
salvage it no really cause I need to cut the piece
so enough hardly going very fit in right so bear with you we'll put this down
I'll just do it here so it should be knowing and a half cheese by let's cut
the four and a half our first by nine and a half Hannah
oh yeah yeah and I rich it down as well
use that so let's start that again so every one and a half inches so one and a
half three three and a half six six and a half and nine there we go and then
turn it on the short side and school it at one and a half and then three so
you've got that and then this piece that I hope I have scored correctly I think a
half you need to score this on every inch so one two three four five and six
and then turn it to the side this needs to be three so three she's going at one
and
see it be right so fold and finish all of those score
lines
you need to cut away this little rectangle that's formed here the big
sister and then mitre that tab and the same on the top like so then you just
need to cut up all of these score lines and when you do take a tiny little
sliver out like so
we're going to do the same for the lifter one so you've got two little
rectangles here so cut those away and my two that tap you can then cut up all of
those score lines and take a little wedge out like so and you will end up
with that so to put this together we need to just going to fold around to
meet there so you can't actually put it down flown it yes you can I like so I
give adhesive to the little flap and then fold it over and then you'll have
your little shape so basically all these tabs are going to get folded in so it's
a little bit of we really wobbly to start with to be fair so what I am going
to do is just fold in all the bottom ones just so you can put it down flat
and then just try and get your shape straight and you do kind of have to use
wet glue for this I don't like using wet glue but yeah oh for a second then I
thought I'd done it wrong and let's move some of these out of the way and you
want to try and get your shape to look like an even six-sided shape so these
two flaps should be even across from each other
so if I add some wet glue and stick that down trying to keep the shape even then
we can add some glue to the rest of the tabs
oops and just press them down and have a look at it again to make sure it's even
also just go if there
there we go that looks pretty even so then flip it over and gently open it up
and you can press it down from the inside and just double check that it
looks even yeah I think it is and then you can add your adhesive to Venus flaps
you don't need a lot which is good because I don't have a lot in here so
just adding it to five of them there we go
there's that first one does it need any
easiest way to press is to flip it over it's obviously you can't squeeze it
because it's you know underneath but that looks pretty good and that should
be the same shape as that one that we made over on Facebook so same with this
little guy add adhesive to that flap
fold it over so there's meat scrub a drink oh and then again one side just
folding all the flaps of the right the way you can sit it down flat and it
looks so cute okay just so two uppers it's
and they should be pretty even
and then add adhesive to the other flaps
yeah that's pretty much just stick them and then you can sort of maneuver it a
little bit while it's wet and I'm lining up two corners with a line on my grid
paper as well so it looks pretty even flip it over and then you can press this
side down make sure it's not stuck and then same for this side just add
adhesive to five of the flaps hose them down and as best you can give it press
okay he's pressed down quite well so now this one will sit on top of here and
then there so I'm thinking that that doesn't look very pretty so we want to
cover that up I don't know too big but what we can do
is cut a couple of these out and then trim them down I think that probably the
easiest way to do it so and the same for this or you could just draw around it
and then just cut it out
and cut just inside that line
I know a lot of it is going to be covered up anyway but I still want it to
look nice
I have a manage to draw around it any don't fear oh there we go
so that would be that one and then big piece it's honor definitely I'm gonna
cover because you will see and just cut inside those lines so I'm just cutting
inside first let's you don't see any lines but
then also it will fit just a little bit neater it's a hair smaller yeah so get
all these bits is out of the way
quite really not fit now yeah I think if it's that way I'm gonna cut it ever so
slightly again
oh good yeah I think that's all right so I'm gonna stick that down so this will
just give us a nice neat finish to the top of the box
I'll just pressing it down making sure it's nice and neat and then the same
with this little guy I'm going to trim that down ever so slightly so when
you're doing this obviously it depends how sort of neat DC stuck the box
together as to the shape so you kind of do have to UM just go off your box
I can't like give you a measurement because it will depend how you stuck
yeah that fits that way
ah there we go oh my goodness so stick it down there so again nice neat finish
to the top of your box
and now we can stick them all together so just a little bit of overhang you do
this before you stick it together obviously just to make it all nice and
neat you double-check this one there's any overhang there we go so these will
fit on top of each other so loads of blue now on here because I do not want
this coming off now dude just inked I should probably have decorated part of
this before sticking it what do you like now and then the same with this lots of
blue
I'm just try and make sure it's even all the way around what I'm gonna do is put
something not super heavy but just a little bit heavy just to press it down
so that's just a clear block and I'm gonna let this dry completely and then
we can move on to the next step okay so my cake is nice and dry now I think that
looks pretty awesome so now it's just to decorate it and so first thing I'm gonna
do is a little bit of stamping so I've got some scraps of very vanilla and the
bunch of blossoms stamp set and I just want whoops
the that little flower that coordinates with the punch as well to get some
blocks so I've just got one ink pad which is real red so we're gonna step
the outline first in real red and just making sure I have this the right way
round so stump the outline
first so I'm going to stamp a few because I don't know how many I'm going
to need probably a good few we want it to be full of gorgeousness flowers stuff
it's just a few more and then four to fill it in I'm using this stamp same
color but I'm gonna whoops stick a finger in ink stamp off and then stamp
over the flower so that gives us a lighter color so you just need one ink
pad up so that was a bit of school if
that's a good trick if you don't have a lot of ink pads it just with the one you
heard if you stamp it off you'll get a lighter shade so and you could always
stamp up onto something so you're not like wasting an Enka suppose
yeah so then using the blossom punch I can then go in and punch all of those
out and I'm just double-checking which them to start so I'm not cutting off any
of the other flowers no it sounds better I think they go that way around
definitely not cutting anything off so what I'm gonna do is put this in half
I'm gonna Covey on cutting all of those and feed right back
those are all punched out whoops bloomed in a bit too much there we go there am I
need some more Oh Elsie and next I've got some strips of rose red and I've
stuck some of the stick the adhesive sheets on the back because I'm going to
punch out using this border punch and I thought it'd be easier to stick it on
weave it sticky all the way along it and it does go in your punch just fine with
that backing on and I've just moved that now
and it's going to be wrong with I did just check test it and it does work for
handgun to go this way
so just keep punching until you've got a nice long strip and then bring it down
to this end
obviously punching through two layers so you do need to give it a good press but
it is fine there we go so we've got a long adhesive piece of this to decorate
now so I'm just going to do a couple more and be better okay so I've done all
of those so we're going to use this to decorate around each level of the cake
so take the first one and you might need a pokey tool or something to get the
back you know there we go so now it's sticky all the way along this is the bit
I said I thought I probably should have done before I put it together but not to
worry I'm gonna start in the middle of one just quite tightly wrap it around
the Bucks press it down as tight as he can particularly on the corn I just pull
it nice and tight so it looks neat just keep going
just give it a good press not too hard obviously if they don't want to crush
the boxes but just make sure it's stuck down nicely so where the joins are you
can either have that as the back or when you decorate with the flowers cover
those joins up so either/or I think I might cover them all I mean
you can't really see him too much anyway so I'm gonna actually we need to do a
little bit more punching of some more flowers and then we can start sticking
them on and see how many more we actually need so this is how the flowers
are turned out but I'll be honest I wasn't loving how they looked even when
I cut and made some of them a little bit more dimension I'm using as image um I
wasn't loving the look so I had a little play around and had a look at some of my
other dies and I found this guy which is on the Paisley's die set coordinates
with the Paisley stamp and I I don't know if I'd ever done it before if I
just forgotten but this little guy cuts out that obviously doesn't really look
like much but when you actually turn it and I've got a quilling tool which has
got a tiny little slit in I'm trying to show you in the middle or if you don't
have that you could use a cocktail stick and you put the end of the whatever it
is you're curling in the end of the quilling tool and then you start to roll
it around and keep rolling rolling all the way up nice and tight and then when
you get to the end you're going to have a little bit that
you can't curl off you've got a little circle there which is kind of going to
end up being the base of your flower so when you take it off the tool then look
you've got this cute cute little flower I mean how adorable is that so I've done
a few in well I have a few I've done quite a lot of them and I think these
will actually give the look more of what I'm after so what I'm going to do is I'm
deciding whether or not to have flowers cascading all the way down or just have
them sort of like this just of Sat obviously this is gonna look rubbish
until they're properly stood down and whoops unlike a couple of the sides like
so I do like the idea of it all cascading down I'm just trying to think
of the path because you kind of I mean you could just have it going straight
down but I think that might look a little boring you'd kind of want it like
snaking doan and I need to cover that point there because that keeps popping
up that's where we wrapped it around and what I should have done he's had the
join sort of staggered so then I could stagger the flowers going down over the
joint but obviously I haven't done that so I think I'm still gonna have it sort
of staggered down but I'm thinking I'm thinking I'm thinking we could sort of
start here stagger and then go down to here so yeah it will work so choose your
side whichever one you're going to work on but put a block like that you can
kind of see what I'm doing so I've got a bunch of these flowers that
he curled and I've got my hot glue going on just because I thought for quickness
in a video that would be easier but you could just use wet bloom and to stick
these on our deeds like a whole load of these I kind of went crazy on them
because I was having so much fun curling them and so I do still have these all
the flowers that I did initially I don't know quite why I'm taking these all out
of the tub that's so unnecessary but anyway so yeah I curled them up like
that and just I wasn't loving it so I may still use them as well somewhere but
Oh get down oh my gosh bear with I'm sorry
about that my cat decided to jump up on my trimmer because you know that's where
cat should sit so I'm going to try and stick this down and not burn myself
first of all because that definitely needs to be covered
so I think this is gonna work with the hot glue gun so
I'm not sitting so basically you want it to sit nicely and like a pretty flower
but mine doesn't want to sit nicely for some reason maybe it's not hot enough
yet oh yeah that's not very hot okay so when I let my glue gun heat up her just
a little bit more and I'll be right back okay I've turned this around so I can
see what I'm doing a little bit better and my glue gun is nice and hot into it
oh my gosh ah it's all fun and games when you've got your cat in your craft
room I might have to put him out somewhere because he's been a little bit
naughty
I'm doing these ons first because this is where the joints are so I want to
make sure those are covered and then we can get to placing the rest so those are
the joint bits covered so now I'm basically gonna do a nice little
ziggy-zag type phone so don't drop your flower you're gonna get a hot glue her
hairs everywhere but you can clear that up afterwards that's fine
and you kind of want to bunch them up to go there as well make sure the nice and
tightly packed
I'm gonna fill the top or new enough fill the top
yep then can have a good look at it and see what else needs to be done
so using that punch that I use for these I've punched some out in green because I
thought they might be nice leaves so we're still using that punch even though
I might not use any of these stamped ones I'll see Wow I love it yeah think
we're good
no I think what I'm gonna do is use some of these and sort of scrunch them not
squish them press them use the back of my pokey tool and really press them down
so they can sort of be slotted in and they can be leaves yeah that's quite
cool so any spots that kind of look a little bare
I'm just going to shoved in there oh
yeah that looks nice few more so really press it down so it whoops and really
sticks up really good
okay so obviously I need to cover this little area yeah Dan if you can see but
I can see quite a lot of the glue and was it dried
yeah it's dry and but it doesn't look very pretty so I'm gonna just pop a
smidge more shove this guy into the gap
like sir it kind of just looks like your leaves popping out I can add one down
that corner
try not to put too much on here
okay and there you can really squeeze it up till it's quite um squeezed folded
whatever and then person
it's make really good little news hmm and obviously we need one you might need
a few more flowers over this side yeah kind of
that's it but earn it that way then I can see where I'm going now
kind of on the corner so it's a little bit awkward
and I'm holding this one just because it's on that corner just to make sure
it's definitely not gonna budge and then of the leaf and then be nearly do just a
little bit of bling edge obviously you have to have some bling
gorgeous and I think leaf needs to go in here
come on
that's hot that that's hot ouch Oh
so again just in case you didn't know the glue is very hot and it will burn
out so let's have a look see I think that is a fabulous I do need something
just under there yeah one more just took two right up there
yeah now I'm happy right so I am just gonna make sure everything is fully dry
I'm gonna get all the little strings of hot glue off and then we can move on to
the next step okay so here is a cute little cake love it so we're going to
finish it off by adding some pearls around the rest of the cake so I think
I'm going to add them on these sides that don't have anything decorative on
them so I'm just gonna grab laughs they still got blue and center it up one in
the center of each section
in the middle oops
so this could be for center table what they're called place not place it didn't
the center of a table our wedding forever that thing is called so it could
be for that in the wedding colors I think that would be gorgeous
just as a wedding gift you could put something if you made the box the bottom
part of the box where it could still open you could put a little gift inside
but as he saw over on Facebook when I made the this part of the box I did
close it off and completely but you could leave that open so you could put
little treats inside little wedding gift I think it's perfect for I think I'm
just gonna leave it that I was gonna put you could put em gems in the flowers or
pearls or something brush them over with a little bit of wink of Stella which I
might do
just for a little sparkle you could some brush over and it'll just catch the
edges of the flowers and just add a little bit of sparkle to it which i
think looks pretty good actually I like it there just a little bit of something
I don't if you can catch it on video but just adding something to the edges I'm
just doing this quickly but you could take your time and really Sparkle them
up there's a scribbly over it basic thing you'll catch the edges
gorgeous okay I'm gonna stop okay so that is our little wedding bucks Museum
a smidge so you can see all in one go so this is when it's done about five inches
high and it's about three no nearly four inches at its thickest part so it's a
good little size also if you left the bottom open you could put a little
electrical tea light in the bottom and that would be nice on a table so oh I
absolutely love it I think this is gorgeous
