Hello class- this video is part how to start research and part how to organize
your paper okay? So I'm back on the Contra Costa College library research
module which is underneath your tools for the course okay, and I'm gonna start
with library databases because that is the most current information on a topic
and that way you don't have to you know thumb through giant encyclopedias you
don't have to go read long books alright, you can find articles,
journal, magazine, and newspaper articles that are tailored specifically to your
topic. Now there are some nice links
here for you to check out remember that if you're off campus you may need to
sign in with your 7 digit student ID number, but you also can go directly to
the CCC library button which is on your side navigation bar. And then here you
have the A to Z database list for English, right, and what I want you to
look at is there are several choices here. I particularly like academic search
premier, looks like maybe they have changed it to search complete, and it
looks like perhaps we cannot get to that unless we're on campus. Let's see if it
lets us alright, any day now, oh good it worked for me. So one of the things I
tell students when you're doing a search there are really two main things: first
you must spell all of your search terms correctly, ok? Now when I put in "racial"
I get a drop-down menu of a ton of connected ideas. So let's just put in
racial profiling, but don't search yet ok. So the next thing you want to make sure
you have is full text. And that is because you don't want just an abstract
a short little hey, 2 sentencer that you really can't use as a source all right.
Students always ask me well how long should the source be? Well a good source
is usually an article okay, and articles are
you know three pages up to 15-20 pages, but abstracts are not good sources. So
then I make sure those are all set and I click on search and I have a little
trick I do that I teach my students. So you have these articles, you have a
thousand articles you can look at, ok, the age of racial profiling, in the context
of terrorism, civil rights. You have all these really good articles, but you're
not sure which one to use. The first thing you want to do is you want to read
the little abstract and make sure it's related or connected, maybe you're gonna
talk about immigration policies for example, okay, where to draw the line?
Whatever you choose, let's say we choose this first one about racial profiling in
law enforcement, okay. So it's an academic journal I know that because of this
little sign over here and I click on it I can also click on the PDF full text,
but I want to show you something that is very special about research. So once I
click on against racial profiling, I get all the information I'm gonna need for
my work cited page, author -source name- okay, and then I've got this abstract
which tells me more information about whether the article will be good for me
or not. Now "find similar results" so if I love
this article, this is like the best article I've ever found ,or could ever
find I click on the "find more like this button" and now I've really narrowed my
search down to all articles that talk about, you know, the ramifications of
racial profiling okay, and post-racialism right ,racial profiling at traffic
stops. And you see they're just a ton of these alright, and these are all what you
would call scholarly materials. They're all scholarly. Now the other thing I want
to show you when it comes to doing your you're setting up
for your research paper, is students always ask me, well how do I
balance it between say quotes from the songs and quotes from the research and
my own particular analysis. And that's a really, really good question to ask. It is
probably the most challenging aspect, other than the research, okay for this
particular paper. So I want to look at an example on tools for the course. I want
to go to the Purdue OWL and I want to talk about research and citation, but
actually what I want to do really is I want to look at a sample essay okay.
So let's look at sample essay and go there.
MLA sample paper okay and this particular one I'm going to open in a
new window because it is it is easier for me to show you.
It's a terrible paper on 19th century farming handbooks- you can thank me later
for not assigning that assignment, all right. One of the things though to point out is
that there is a way to give, for example historical context, some background
material on your topic, whatever it may be. How it came to be a
social issue or problem and then you can use some quotes okay? You could use
quotes from any of your scholarly sources. And then you can use your
current songs as examples of how this issue is being addressed in modern art
okay? When I think of racial profiling I always think of the NWA song "F the
Police" okay, and that song grew out of tensions
between the police in LA and particularly African-Americans,
and the racial profiling that was going on at the time. So even though the song
is twenty years old- thirty years old- it still speaks truth to what's happening
today with a lot of the "hands up don't shoot" okay, kind of a new more modern
take on the same issue. So you can give a little background. You can use your
scholarly sources and quote from them directly then you can talk about the
problem and then you can quote from one of your artists and say how this
particular artist is dealing with this particular problem in the here and in
the now, all right. The best way to begin though is to get some articles that you
like and that you think speak well of the social issue that you want to talk
about. And then the songs are probably going to be easier for you because you
most likely have some in mind already. One thing I will tell you is I think
it's really best if you have a balanced approach to the music, so that you don't
just have 4 rock and roll songs, or 4 country songs. The best essays, and
again I'll go back to racial profiling, I can think of a song right off the top of
my head in country that is about racial profiling. I know there are lots of songs
in rock and roll about racial profiling ,and of course in
hip-hop and in rap there are tons of songs about racial profiling. So you
could easily find a song from each musical genre that you can think of and
use those. It's a balanced approach, it shows that your essay is timely. It's
something that everybody is talking about, this particular topic ,and it's
something that our artists- our current and modern-day artists- are reflecting on
and telling us how we should think- feel- and respond to those issues.
Alright, I hope this helps!

So they might be happy to hear this
On June, 8th, 10th
13th and 15th we'll hold concerts in South America
8th, Monterrey
10th, Mexico
13th, Sao Paolo
This is difficult
And on the 15th, Rio
Rio - Yes, these are our tour dates
If you can come, we will definitely have a good time together
Yes, please join us
Because it's our first time going, we're really excited
"Nosotros quiero"... right?
What does that mean?
We can do it?
We can do it! So if we can do it
we can meet you and we can perform
This is what he wanted to express
Let's really meet up
Then let's start
We got a lot of questions through the ZanyTV YouTube channel
I will read you the first question
It's from Catherine Donatella
Hi Catherine Donatella
Yes, hello
(In English) If your members were women, who would you date and why?
None!
No one!
If your members were women, who would you date and why?
Our Dojoon
Me?
I think there wouldn't be any time to be bored with him
The moment you're bored, he'd go "Did you do this already?"
"Let's do this that everything"
and then suddenly "Ay Man"
I would say no one
But if you forced me to date one I'd pick Hajoon
The reason...
Hajoon is really gentle towards women
You make me feel weird
I would like to experience something like that
I will have him buy me food
I feel like this wouldn't end well
Ah, it's okay, I'm just going to take advantage of the situation
Hajoon, you will suffer
So it's decided, they're dating now?
When I'm hungry
I want to eat Tacos first or Burritos
So maybe I'll just call Hajoon
and take advantage of him
How about you, Hajoon?
Well, I...
I might pick Wooseong
When we speak, he speaks a lot
and he's a very good negotiator
I had to experience this myself
Is that weird?
You know how it is
So you like people who are convincing
So you are this kind of person
It's just that I think we could communicate well
You should know that you two are a couple now
If that's so I can pick you over there -No!
There are a lot of people in this world
And everyone has their own style of living
So I will choose to stay single
Yes, go live by yourself
You have to support people who live by themselves
I got a message from Chile
A message? -A question, I mean
What do you do for fun?
This kind of thing
Meet up, discuss situation like this
Eat
We should eat chicken today
That's fun -Yepp
But I don't think there's anything special we do
No wait! There's one thing
We play games
If there's one hobby it's probably this
That's fun, eating, playing games
We enjoy holding performances
and practising as a band
And in everyday life
we play games. Mostly
Caren from Bolivia asks
When you're going through difficult time, what helps you overcome them?
As we're all in the same situation
it's the members who would understand me the best
And it's also the members who would listen the best if I have worries
To be serious, I think the biggest help are the members
And if you're not serious?
Games!
Just go out
do something else and feel better
But that really helps, too
Yes, if even talking to each other doesn't help
playing games relieves stress
But if we fight, and then play together, we fight even more
"Just do it right!" -"Cath him already!"
What instrument that you haven't learned how to play would you like to learn?
Is there an instrument that you would like to be able to play?
I really like the sound of celli
I want to learn to play the violin
Then we can play together, cello, violin, viola
No, banjo
And you can play contrabass
No one will hear me
We should create a second band
But I really want to learn how to play contrabass
It's really cool
The next question is fun
If the world was coming to an end what would the last thing you would do be?
I want to eat a lot of delicious food
I thought the exact same thing
Because whatever you do, it won't have any effects eitherway
So you can just eat and eat
I think I'd rather try something adventurous
Something I haven't done before
Or something I used to be afraid of. Like Skydiving?
You can do something dangerous, too
because you will disappear anyways
It doesn't matter whether I die now
or few hours later when the world ends
so I should do something thrilling
You could do the paragliding thing without parachute
Right, there is this thing
It's like skydiving but you wear this suit
I would like to try this
so if I ever got into the situation where everything was about to end and my fear would leave me
That's a good idea. I'm afraid of quite a few things
I want to drive on a highway with a really fast car
Without ristrictions
I'd like to drive on an Autobahn once
I for my part...
The world is going to end anyways
I will go outside
And I will have a really good time with complete strangers
We meet and go "Tomorrow everything ends, what do you wanna do?"
And then we can just go and enjoy ourselves
Is that something that scary?
We leave the house
And make friends
and spread the love
then we ride a really fast car
We then drive over a super high ramp
and catch flying food
And from the flying car
we jump and then-
skydiving!
That sounds like a good plan
That is what we would do if the world was to end
These kind of questions are fun
That seems to have been the last question
That was it already?
Well done everyone
He really is a great MC
This was episode one
where we got to talk about our world-ending plans
and have a Q&A
We enjoyed ourselves
In episode 2 we will play a simple but fun game
Please look forward to it
We'll be back in Episode 2!

We are alone? EP01 - Drake Equation - Duration: 5:57.
we are alone
Are there life on other planets?
the aliens are real or Hollywood fiction?
What arouses us this curiosity is the immensity of space
astronomy reveals that we are not the center of the universe
there are billions of stars and billions of galaxies
which total billions and billions of planets
this makes us think that perhaps intelligent life is common
this is not a philosophical but a scientific question
so that we can address these issues more objectively
the Drake equation was created
which estimates the number of intelligent civilizations in our galaxy
and that's what we'll see in today's video
What is the Drake equation?
Introduction
Helping to spread science in Brazil
well first let's see how this equation works
'' N '' is defined as the amount of intelligent and advanced civilizations that can contact us
and is defined by the multiplication of seven variables
'' R star '' is the rate of star formation in our galaxy
'' Fp '' is the fraction of stars that have planets
'' Ne '' the average number of habitable planets per star
that potentially allow the development of life
'' Fl '' the fraction of the planets that really develop life
'' Fi '' and '' Fc '' are the percentage of planets that develop intelligent and technological life that can communicate
'' L '' is the expected life time of such a civilization
Drake provided the following values for such equation
(Values on the screen)
according to the Drake values we have the following statement
"N" is equal to 2.31
the great problem of the Drake equation
is not due to its construction but to the values assigned to each number
the more we advance in the equation the more uncertainty we have about their values
perhaps life is an inevitable process of molecules
perhaps intelligent civilizations thrive until their destruction
but even so we can come to a conclusion
if there is no life in the universe the universe is a great waste of space
because there are billions and billions of stars
there are billions and billions of galaxies
the organic matter in which we are made
that is, carbon, is abundant in basically all places of the cosmos
In nebulae, moons and planets
then it would be too arrogant to say that there is only life on earth
let's assume that the average star formation
in all galaxies is seven stars per year
there are 2 trillion galaxies, some have trillions of stars with '' IC 1101 ''
which has 100 trillion stars
in this hypothetical situation
we will consider that half of these stars have planets
and that there are two planets per stellar system
This is a modest number.
our solar system has eight planets, 5 dwarf planets and more than 160 moons
the system closest to Earth that is the Alpha Centauri system
there is a planet
in our solar system the earth has life
The moon Europe and moon Titan has the possibility of existence of water
or is it possible that there is life there
We are made of organic molecules
i.e. carbon compounds
we know that these molecules are abundant throughout the cosmos
in nebulae, moons, comets... anywhere
so let's assume a number even a little pessimistic
every 100 planets a life develops
let's suppose a hundredth of these planets develop intelligent life
intelligence is an evolutionary advantage
then maybe it will be abundant
So let's assume that a thousandth
actually develop technology, radio astronomy technology
a technology that enables communication with other civilizations
now we go to the most difficult number that is the longevity of civilization
we are at least a century old as a dangerous technology
it is evident that an advanced technology for an immature civilization is a danger
so let's be optimistic let's imagine that 200 years of existence
before she self-destructs
solving the equation we have the quantity of intelligent civilizations throughout the universe
the normal Drake equation estimates only the civilizations of our galaxy
but as I put the formation of stars for all galaxies...
We have the number of living intelligent civilizations that can contact us throughout the universe
this number is quite large but obviously it has a great deal of uncertainty
because we do not know much of the equation
I only said estimates
maybe intelligent life is much rarer
or perhaps much more abundant
the point is that the universe is too big to be alone

Home Depot Founder Risks Entire Company With Shock Announcement Trump's DOING IT Anyway! - Duration: 5:01.
Home Depot Founder Risks Entire Company With Shock Announcement Trump's DOING IT Anyway!
Major retailers around the nation have become battlegrounds for political correctness, using
their businesses as soapboxes to make social statements.
In a time when online business has disrupted the retail market, and big box stores are
diminishing by the dozen, it doesn't seem wise to polarize your customer base with a
divisive stance.
Home Depot's number one competition, Lowe's, has proven to stay true to their core values
and the American people, especially our nation's heroes and their families.
Meanwhile, their counterpart has received some pretty bad press over the past two to
three years regarding an apparent disrespect for the military.
Most of this seemed to occur at the store level and not a decision condoned, or approved
by the corporation especially since the CEO of the home improvement giant is a major Trump
supporter, a fact the founder has not been shy about.
Now the man responsible for the fate of his retail business has just risked his entire
company in making a sudden shock announcement.
Prior to today, when Trump was campaigning to be president, Home Depot founder Ken Langone
told CNBC that if he pulls off a win, he could go down as "one of our greatest presidents
ever."
It was a sentiment in which the majority of Americans proved to agree with having voted
him into office.
Now, we're seeing his support for our president in an even bigger way and more importantly,
Langone's commitment to make America great again in a special way that has left military
families in America in total shock.
What many American businesses, sports figures, and celebrities get routinely wrong is that
they make political statements in vain to say they are against division, when they are
really being an anti-American and perpetuating the problem.
This often includes using their platform to publicly trash our president.
Home Depot knows that while they may offend "some" people, they are promoting something
better with their patriotism that we as a country can and should all get behind.
In this recent move, they are showing their appreciation in a big way for the men and
women who fight for our freedom and right to make any social statement we want.
Fox Business reports:
The Home Depot Foundation, a leadership arm for the company founded by Bernie Marcus,
Arthur Blank and with the help of Ken Langone, hammered down on its pledge to closing the
gap among skilled laborers in America.
It announced Thursday it would commit $50 million to train 20,000 tradespeople over
the next 10 years, starting with separating military members and veterans, at-risk youth
and members of the Atlanta Westside community, in an effort to reduce the number of unfilled
construction sector jobs in the U.S.
Currently, there are 158,000 unfilled jobs in the sector, according to data from the
Bureau of Labor Statistics, which projects the total employment number of construction
laborers to increase 10.5 percent by 2026.
As FOX Business reported, many six-figure jobs in the sector are going unfilled.
"We want to bring shop class back, from coast-to-coast," Shannon Gerber, executive
director of The Home Depot Foundation, said in a statement.
"We're thrilled to train 20,000 next-generation plumbers, electricians, carpenters and beyond.
It's a true honor to welcome our first classes of separating soldiers as they transition
to civilian life and into successful careers in the trades."
To those who don't value the sacrifice of our service members or recognize that these
heroes are the backbone of our country, they probably think this is somehow unfair.
They are probably also the same disgruntled people who left Lowe's in boycott and took
their business to Home Depot after Lowe's proudly pulled their ads from appearing in
the commercial spots during the All American Muslim show on the TLC network.
Now, disgruntled anti-American shoppers will have nowhere to go, realizing that their message
isn't appreciated anywhere.
Just as Lowe's probably lost far fewer customers than they gained from that move, Home Depot
probably won't miss them either.
Business is booming for those who choose to respect our country and the values this nation
was built on, which is how it should be.
The same can't be said for companies who continue to cater to the liberal agenda.
The country needs to see more of this and likely will within the next four years under
President Donald Trump's leadership.
He constantly praises our military which is how it always should be.
American businesses should look at what Home Depot does for our military members and how
they treat them and follow their lead.
It's beyond time for this to be the trend as opposed to who can make a bigger anti-American
social justice statement.
Well done, Home Depot!

How to construct a research essay video lecture - Duration: 8:35.
Hello class- this video is part how to start research and part how to organize

with library databases because that is the most current information on a topic
and that way you don't have to you know thumb through giant encyclopedias you

tell students when you're doing a search there are really two main things: first
you must spell all of your search terms correctly, ok?

REPORT: U.S. Posts A Positive Number It Hasn't Seen In Almost 50 Years, Trump Scores Huge
And the winning continues!
Although the left and their cronies have spent the last year and a half attacking and throwing
temper tantrums as they have tried to overthrow a sitting president, there is no way for them
to hide the stone cold facts of what the Trump presidency has meant to our nation and its
people. President Trump in a year and a half into his presidency was able to do what no
other president has been able to do since 1969 when the Republican Richard Nixon was
president.
In new numbers released on Friday, we can now confirm what isn't hard to notice if
you take the time away from "resisting" in order to see what's actually right in
front of you. President Trump has given us the best economic numbers most of us have
seen in our entire lifetime. The jobless rate is now officially the lowest since 1969.
In fact, In a separate report released on Thursday, the Labor Department has now said
initial claims for state unemployment benefits have dropped 24,000 to a seasonally adjusted
209,000 for the week ended April 21. That's the lowest number seen since December 1969.More
on these numbers via Yahoo Finance:
The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits fell to the lowest level in more
than 48 years last week and the goods trade deficit narrowed sharply in March amid strong
export growth.
"The U.S. economy is still moving higher," said Chris Rupkey, chief economist at MUFG
in New York. "The pullback in goods orders from companies is not a red flag for the economic
outlook yet even if the caution light should be left on."
The Commerce Department said orders for non-defense capital goods excluding aircraft, a closely
watched proxy for business spending plans, slipped 0.1 percent last month. Data for February
was revised to show these so-called core capital goods increasing 0.9 percent instead of the
previously reported 1.4 percent jump.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast core capital goods orders rising 0.5 percent
last month. Core capital goods orders increased 6.5 percent on a year-on-year basis.
Last month, orders for machinery fell 1.7 percent, the biggest decline since April 2016,
after a gain of 0.3 percent in February. There were, however, increases in orders of primary
metals, computers and electronic products, fabricated metals and electrical equipment,
appliances and components.
Overall orders for durable goods, items ranging from toasters to aircraft that are meant to
last three years or more, increased 2.6 percent in March as demand for transportation equipment
rose 7.6 percent. That followed a 3.5 percent surge in durable goods orders in February.
Shipments of core capital goods declined 0.7 percent last month after a downwardly revised
1.0 percent increase in February. Core capital goods shipments are used to calculate equipment
spending in the government's gross domestic product measurement.
They were previously reported to have vaulted 1.4 percent in February. Business spending
on equipment likely cooled in the first quarter after double-digit growth in the second half
of 2017. The moderation in equipment investment is expected to have combined with a sharp
slowdown in consumer spending to restrain economic growth in the first quarter.
U.S. Treasury yields held at lower levels after the data. The dollar rose against a
basket of currencies. Stocks on Wall Street were trading higher as strong earnings from
Facebook and a handful of chipmakers powered technology shares.
According to a Reuters survey of economists, GDP growth likely slowed to a 2.0 percent
annualized rate in the first three months of the year. The economy grew at a 2.9 percent
pace in the fourth quarter. The government will publish its advance estimate of first-quarter
GDP on Friday.
FISCAL STIMULUS
The anticipated slowdown in economic growth is likely to be temporary against the backdrop
of a robust labor market that is expected to underpin consumer spending. The economy
is also expected to get a boost from the Trump administration's $1.5 trillion income tax
cut package as well as increased government spending, which should also support business
investment.
"We still expect investment growth to pick up over the rest of the year, as tax cuts
boost domestic demand and capacity constrains bite," said Michael Pearce, a senior U.S.
economist at Capital Economics in New York.
In a separate report on Thursday, the Labor Department said initial claims for state unemployment
benefits dropped 24,000 to a seasonally adjusted 209,000 for the week ended April 21, the lowest
level since December 1969. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast claims falling to
230,000 in the latest week.
The labor market is considered to be near or at full employment. The unemployment rate
is at a 17-year low of 4.1 percent, not far from the Federal Reserve's forecast of 3.8
percent by the end of this year.
"The tight labor market keeps getting tighter," said John Ryding, chief economist at RDQ Economics
in New York. "Companies are extremely reluctant to release labor, presumably because of the
difficulty in replacing workers."
A third report from the Commerce Department showed the goods trade deficit fell 10.3 percent
to $68.0 billion in March. Exports rose $3.4 billion to $140.1 billion last month, reflecting
a strengthening global economy and weak U.S. dollar. Imports fell $4.4 billion to $208.1
billion in March.
The department also reported that wholesale inventories rose 0.5 percent last month. Retail
inventories, however, fell 0.4 percent. The goods trade deficit and inventory data had
a marginal impact on first-quarter GDP estimates."
Let us not forget how former President Barack Hussein Obama once told us that the jobs lost
were never going to make their way back from oblivion.
I guess it was never the jobs that were never going to come back but instead the conditions
presidents such as Obama put on our economy that made it so jobs were non-existent. When
all you do is tax and regulate businesses to oblivion that's what happens, they stop
creating jobs, pack up and move to a more business-friendly environment. Not unlike
what's now happening to the state of California where the only businesses and people who care
to live there are somehow connected to either silicon valley or Hollywood.
Who would have thought it would take a brash outsider to bring America back, especially
after both sides of the political aisle told us we had to learn to live with the fact that
the United States isn't what it once was. Must be easy to come to terms with that when
you get elected to a position which pays $150k a year and 10 years later you end up being
worth over 10 million dollars.

Anytime Fitness Franchise Review and Cost - Duration: 8:49.
. What a great business - you just invest and sit back as the money
rolls in. But is that really the case? Today, lets take a critical look at the Anytime Fitness
Franchise.
So let me start by saying that there are owners that have done very well with their Anytime
Fitness Franchise. When the model works, it works well and you can have a relatively passive
business that provides predictable income.
Now that's the side you will hear from the franchise, but as always we like to give you
the other side of the story so you can make an educated decision.
Taken from their brand new 2018 FDD the cost to open an Anytime Fitness center will range
between $131,002 and $722,796. Keep in mind that number includes your operating capital
for the first 3 months, and assumes you will be leasing your gym equipment. If you buy
your equipment count on about $140,000 on top of that number. There is also the option
for an Anytime Fitness Express location which we won't cover today. You will pay a $549
monthly fee to Anytime Fitness, a general advertising fee of $300 monthly and you will
be required to invest between $8,000-$18,000 on a Grand Opening and Ramp up Program when
you first open up. You will pay a fee of 50 cents for each member of your club monthly
for the Anytime Health membership, to a maximum of $225 for a single location or $675 a month
if you have multiple locations. There is a global access fee of $249 per month. Training
suite fees are $149 per center.
So those are the fees, but how much can you make with an Anytime Fitness Franchise? The
2018 Item 19 financials in Anytime Fitness FDD provide suggested earnings for 500, 865
and 1150 member scenarios. The earnings BEFORE debt expense, depreciation, interest and taxes
are $9,900 for a 500 member location, and if you read the fine print that number assumes
you are working at the center yourself. If you have installed a manager from when you
opened you will not be making that amount. Next level is $99,800 for an 865 member location,
and these following numbers do assume you now have a a manager and $192,000 for an 1150
member location. Keep in mind that representation assumes that all members stay for a full year
with zero attrition or zero new ,members, which is not realistic. These numbers were
based on an estimated value of $371.90 per year per member, and a club size and approximate
cost related to 5000 sf But how many members will an average club have? Well if we look
again at the item 19 in the FDD we see Anytime Fitness gives the average of 697 monthly paying
members, and a median of 646. Pay per visit members average count was was 168 and median
was 101. The lowest membership in their system was 177 the highest was 3316. So essentially
these numbers paint the picture in your mind that the 697 paying members plus pay per visit
of 168 gives us the average of 865 members so we can expect $99,800. Pretty good right?
And if you are emotionally driven through the FDD thats the only number you will see.
But read the fine print more closely and there are other considerations you need to understand
such as paragraph 6 in the Item 19 relating to training income. This is important as certain
clubs who did not report personal training income of at least $1500 monthly were just
not included in the numbers. So underperforming PT locations were removed from the figures,
and remember franchisors have the ability to present these numbers to you any way they
like. Also remember this number is before debt expense, depreciation, interest and taxes.
As always make sure you have read and understand all the points in the FDD and have a competent
franchise lawyer advise you.
Now the growth of Anytime Fitness has been strong with almost 400 new locations opening
in the past 3 years. Litigation is almost zero which is really amazing for a franchise
of this size. But hold on 400 locations opening that sounds
like no locations have closed doesnt it? A quick Google of the words Anytime Fitness
Closed will prove otherwise Now one of the initiatives we conduct with our clients is
to contact people who closed their locations, their names will be listed in the FDD, and
ask them what happened. You dont just want to speak to franchisees who are doing well.
This is how we make an educated and balanced franchise buying decision, not by fixating
on only the positives. All franchises have some obstacles or negatives you need to be
aware of those and be confident you can overcome them.
Now if you are seriously considering buying a gym franchise I want to bring your attention
to the operational model for a second. Now the goal if you are seeking a truly passive
franchise which most people are with Anytime Fitness, is to hire someone to run your business
while you focus on other things. Now a gym franchise, keep in mind, is completely dependent
on the person you hire, much more so than say a hair salon by virtue of the client acquisition
process. So a hair Salon manager welcomes people and runs the store, and is a relatively
easy hire and even if you have to replace this person your customers still will walk
in and have their haircut. Your store success is not tied to any one individual and people
don't need to be sold a haircut.
With fitness however that manager will need to be very adept at client acquisition, at
selling. And if you can't find someone in the fitness industry, that is also good at
selling, your club is going to suffer. So if you are running passively, and you have
ongoing problems finding the right hire your store is going to suffer, and your passive
business just became a hands on headache.
We also found some negative feedback on unhappyfranchisee.com, and I'll post the link to that page down below
in the description box if you want to visit the page. Now keep in mind there are many
more happy franchisees than unhappy, but these comments provide us with some red flags that
can help direct our future research. Some complaints speak to the fact that actual ownership
may not be as easy as claimed, that corporate may be taking more than they should be, that
their real estate team are unqualified that Anytime Fitness did not properly disclose
earnings of other clubs and support is poor this owner suggests they are being forced
to pay $60,000 after only 5 years to remodel their club and are drowning in debt, and this
prospective franchisee suggesting Anytime Fitness did not allow them to speak to other
owners, and that the fees are ridiculous. There are over 81 comments both good and bad
and will certainly be of interest to anyone considering buying an Anytime Fitness franchise.

How to Screen Capture on a Mac | #EasyWins - Duration: 2:36.
- Ever wanted to know the best way
to screen record on a Mac?
If you have, then you're in the right place.
Because in this easy win,
I'm going to share a step-by-step guide
on how to do exactly this.
A lot of people actually think the best way
to record on your screen is to simply grab out
your camera or phone and actually film the screen.
The reasons why this option is frowned upon
by yours truly is because if you point
the camera at the screen of a computer,
you will often times see the pixels on the screen,
have parts of it looking out of focus,
and the worst being revealing how
dirty your screen truly is.
And believe me, your audience won't appreciate that.
So the best method to get a crystal clear recording
on your Mac is to utilise Screen Capture.
This handy tool is perfect for tutorials and walk-throughs
and for your audience to either follow along
or see exactly what you're doing.
So let's jump right in and show you how to do this.
Step one:
Open QuickTime on your Mac.
If you're one of those people that have a PC,
shame on you.
Just kidding.
But you will need to download software
to be able to utilise screen recordings.
Step two:
Once you're in QuickTime,
you will then go into File,
and click New Screen Recording.
Step three:
It's as simple as clicking the record button
and your screen to begin capturing.
Step four:
Once your are finished, you can stop the recording
by pressing the stop icon in the top of your screen.
If you're happy with your recording,
then don't forget to save it.
There are two handy tips around this process.
The first one being the resolution size of your screen
will determine the resolution that
your video is captured in.
So if you want to zoom in on your screen capture
without losing any of the detail,
then consider capturing it on perhaps a 5K monitor
rather than a 1080p laptop.
The other tip is to make sure that all
the information on your screen is
appropriate for your audience to see.
Leaving text messages, emails, strange YouTube videos,
or even people's personal details on your screen
is not what you want your audience to be focusing on
when you're trying to educate them.
Do you know what time it is?
It's bonus tip time!
(loud enthusiastic shouting)
Today's bonus tip is about screen capturing on your iPhone.
It's as simple as going into Settings,
Control Centre,
Customised Controls,
Add Screen Recording,
then swipe up on your phone,
press the Screen Capture button,
wait three seconds and begin recording.
Hopefully this video has given you
an easy win to try out for yourselves.
Don't forget to give us a follow and subscribe
to our channel to get the latest and greatest
videos from Shootsta.
See you next time.

What is wrong with the world today? - DragoNate Reading Your Answers - Duration: 7:45.
hello friends I'm dragonate and welcome back to another dragonate reading your
answers video last week I asked you guys I believe it was what is wrong with the
world today I'm going to just quickly go back and make sure that that is actually
correct yes I was correct and what is wrong with the world today so you guys
left your answers and I will be reading them in this video but before we do we
need a new question for next week and this question is going to be kind of a
complete opposite to last week's question so I'm going to ask you what is
good about the world today because it's not all bad there's some not-so-good
things but there's also some really great things about the world today as
well and about people and what people are doing so let me know what what
things you think are good about the world today now I know I asked you guys
to tell me one thing that's wrong with the world and of course that's a that's
a very difficult thing but I don't I didn't want us to be going and listing a
thousand different things because that that's that it kind of ruins the whole
point of the of the thing and it becomes too negative if you know what I mean
so I wanted just one single thing that you thought was the was the worst and I
had a hard time with this as well because I have two that I want to say or
that I'm trying to decide between anyway either way let's get into your answers
and we'll see what you guys think so zinc at says I think pretty much idea
that people have more right to own things and other people do has destroyed
so much of the world in so many ways and I agree
you know the sorry I got rid of my face for a second I agree that's the idea of
like ownership and the ownership is fine and what you have is yours and I think
that should be yours I don't like the idea of you know everybody sharing
everything but your answer made me think of like when when people explored new
lands and they found natives there and they decided to take the land from the
natives by doing different horrible things like causing disease or just
killing them or making them slaves or that kind of thing and it's not it's not
a good thing and I don't like it I think people just have to realize that what's
theirs is theirs and what someone else's is someone else's see below be listed a
ton of things could be sure to say what isn't everything going wrong
in this world everything is going wrong in this world the increase of
temperature melting the ice the increase of ocean level wars drug dealing
immigration due to war terrorism possible poverty starvation intensive
farming pollution pollution pollution again the extinction of animals
deforestation lots more things religion to the literacy racism I think you can
make an endless list yes but this is why I wanted just one thing and he does also
say the cause of everything is of course the human well I guess this is true mum
says too much hate for each other in other words racism like part of the
parts of the words to a song let's say we all bleed the same and I agree it's
ridiculous why the heck should color make any difference to anything color
means nothing and I don't see why so much of the world hasn't understood this
yet meets who also says humankind and omar says the most wrong thing in the
world is global warming and everything French of course all the runs stuff if
you don't like French money and global warming definitely is a huge problem and
t ELISA says can't list them all the patients people need more with
themselves and others and I agree patience is patience is a virtue can be
kind of hard to come by can be difficult to have and to achieve and as I've said
before I have lots of lots of patience usually when it comes to people when it
comes to electronics and machines and things not working the way they're
supposed to I have very little patience and that is it for the answers to this
one so thank you all so much for participating thank you for sharing your
thoughts on this what I think I was trying to decide between two of them and
now I can't think of what the one was oh yes okay so my first one was gonna be
about communication that there there's so much conversation and stuff and going
on the world but there's no actual real communication people just want to say
what they want to say it but they don't really care about what others have to
say or even if they do listen to them they don't it's not often you know a
thing that meshes well together you know like how conversations should be and
communication should be it's all just people trying to get the point across
and that's it but no one wants to listen to anyone else the second thing I I
wanted to say is about joking joking has sort of become like an excuse to do what
you want and to say hurtful things and for freedom of speech and stuff
because people are so often making hurtful jokes to others and that kind of
thing and then it's just all I'm just joking or it's just a prank or things
like that and I find it really annoying and really sad you know and and I see
this you see this most of the time on the Internet of course my one cousin had
was very very bad for this when we were younger because he would do all he would
say such mean and hurtful things to me and then he would just be oh I'm just
joking and it angered me so like I said it's hard to come up with with just one
single thing of course but now that we've talked about what is wrong with
the world let's talk about what is good with the world so tell me one thing or
more that you think are good about the world and good about society and people
and all that leave your answers in the comments below and I will read them next
week thank you all so much for watching I hope you enjoyed this video and I hope
you have a wonderful rest of your week now I have two two things of course to
say one of which is the Humble Bundle stuff so you know there's a couple
things on humblebundle here there's a plan your vacation bundle which are two
days left and there's also a learn to make music bundle which has seven days
left both of those well that there will be a link to one of them up there that
way and also in the description possibly in a comment below other than that my
big news for myself here to tell you guys is I finally have my Monday
mornings and Thursday mornings free again which I am really really happy
about it's been really stressful it's been iíve had Monday's kind of not free
Monday mornings not free since January and because of how things work if I'm
gone in the morning for just a couple hours at my workplace I'm kind of stuck
there until later on because I don't have ride and it's a bit too far to walk
and I don't care to take the bus plus there's other other facilities at the
place that I can use now I kind of I don't get to use those facilities as
often which is okay but I am at home so I can
talk with you guys more on discord I can do more stuff for four videos and things
which I haven't really been able to do I felt like I've had very little time and
I've also been very very stressed because the kind of work I have been
doing is being kind of it's it's not what what I am good at not what I am
used to not what I'm good at not what I'm passionate about and I I could say a
whole lot more but I think talking publicly about it
could not be that great of an idea or very nice and I don't want to do that
kind of thing all that really needs to be said is things kind of went badly and
because I was given work that I shouldn't actually be doing and so it it
blew up in someone's face anyway that's it for this video so thank you all so
much for watching I'll see you again next week
leave your answers and I'll read them and yeah have a great one
Godbless

Niall Horan Cover - Too Much To Ask - Duration: 2:51.
Waiting here for someone Only yesterday we were on the run
You smile back at me and your face lit up the sun
Now I'm waiting here for someone And oh, love, do you feel this rough?
Why's it only you I'm thinking of My shadow's dancing
Without you for the first time My heart is hoping
You'll walk right in tonight Tell me there are things that you regret
'Cause if I'm being honest I ain't over you yet
That's all I'm asking Is it too much to ask?
Is it too much to ask?
Someone's moving outside The lights come on down the drive
I forget you're not here when I close my eyes Do you still think of me sometimes?
And oh, love, watch the sun coming up Don't it feel fucked up we're not in love
My shadow's dancing Without you for the first time
My heart is hoping You'll walk right in tonight
And tell me there are things that you regret 'Cause if I'm being honest I ain't over you
yet That's all I'm asking
Is it too much to ask?
Is it too much
to ask?
