HeroBook: The 5E Player Character Notebook - Duration: 4:16.

Hi! I'm Sean Hallaren, a gamer and designer from Vancouver. Tabletop RPGs

are my favorite way to spend a day with friends. I think there's something

magical about creating a group of imaginary heroes, pulling them from the

ether of your collective imagination and breathing life into them to send them on

these grand fantastic quests. But when you actually start playing the game,

there's so much to keep track of. Your character sheet is constantly changing

as you keep track of your hit points, spell slots, and conditions, not to mention

combat and spell casting rules. I'm an organizational freak, and this was

getting in the way of me enjoying the game, and I needed a solution. I tried

index cards, binders, notebooks, complicated apps, but I never found a

solution that stayed true to what I loved about the pen and paper experience of

tabletop games. So I created my own solution: introducing HeroBook.

HeroBook is a reusable player character notebook made specifically for 5th

edition. It includes a polypropylene coated character sheet on the inside

front cover that works with wet and dry erase markers, so you'll never have to

reprint your character sheet or scribble over outdated information ever again. The

book contains all the rules and references you need to play a 5th

edition game, including character creation tools, races, classes, level up

charts, combat and spell casting rules, and a whole lot more.

It'll be bursting with beautiful original art created specifically for HeroBook. The

back has a ton of blank note pages to keep track of spells, equipment, or

anything else your quest throws at you. The unique 4-in-1 note paper

combines lines for writing, grids and isometric dots for maps, and blank pages

for sketching. HeroBook is bound using a technique called smyth sewing, an

extremely durable binding method that's used to create archival quality

textbooks. This means your HeroBook will last as long as your character does, from 1st

to 20th level and beyond. This kind of binding also allows the book to lay

completely flat no matter what page you're on, so it's very comfortable to

write and draw in. I've chosen high quality 100lb cover stock for the

front and back and 70lb acid-free satin paper for the inside,

so not only is HeroBook a powerful tool for playing 5th edition, it's also a

really nice notebook, and I think the exposed spine looks awesome.

I'm very excited to be working with Hemlock Printing, a local Vancouver

printer with over half a century of experience creating high quality,

environmentally sustainable products. They've been awarded the Canadian

Printing Award for Most Environmentally Progressive Printing Company three years

in a row, and HeroBook will be printed in a carbon neutral facility that

recycles 99% of its waste. All paper materials used in your HeroBook are

recognized by the Forest Stewardship Council for sustainability and

ecological protection of ancient and endangered forests. I've been working on

perfecting the HeroBook for three years, and it's finally ready for production.

This is where I need your help. In order to secure the funding for our initial

print run, I'm coming to Kickstarter to recruit an adventuring party of tabletop

heroes like you. Our funding goal allows us to

keep the cost per book low while still offering an extremely high-quality

product. Much of the design and testing of HeroBook is already complete, and I'm

so excited to show you our prototype. Upon funding I'll be gathering feedback

from backers like you to tailor the final version of HeroBook to be your

perfect tabletop adventure companion. In order to guarantee a smooth backer

THEIR TAX PLAN LAST YEAR, THE ASSURED US, AS THE GOP ALWAYS

DOES WHEN IT COMES FOR TAX CUTS, WHEN THAT TIME COMES, THAT IT

WOULD BE A MASSIVE ADRENALINE SHOT TO THE ECONOMY.

SO LET'S

TAKE A LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE AND SEE IF THEY WERE RIGHT --

WE DO HAVE TO BEAR IN MIND THAT ALL QUARTERS AREN'T EQUAL,

HE WAS OFF BY .7% AND TO PUT IT IN PERSPECTIVE IT WAS LOWER

BY ABOUT TWO TIMES AS MUCH AS HE SAID IT WOULD GO UP, SO THAT'S A

GIGANTIC SWING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, AND IT ONLY TOOK

BETWEEN 1.5 AND $2 TRILLION BEING TAKEN FROM U.S.

TAXPAYERS AND GIVEN TO CORPORATIONS AND THE

WEALTHIEST TAXPAYERS, SO MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, THAT'S AWESOME.

YES.

THERE WAS THIS IDEA THAT THIS WAS WHAT THE ECONOMY

NEEDED, AND THAT WAS THE MESSAGE.

AND THEY ARE MESSAGING

THAT, LIKE, LISTEN, YOU HAVE MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET.

AND

EVERYONE LIKES TO SAY THAT, AND IT'S AN EASIER SELL WHEN YOU DO

A TAX CUT TO SAY WE ARE CUTTING YOUR TAXES.

PEOPLE HAVE TO KNOW

A CERTAIN AMOUNT AND HAVE A SOPHISTICATED ENOUGH

UNDERSTANDING OF THE ECONOMY AT LARGE THEN LOOK AT SOMEONE WHO

SAYS I WILL GIVE YOU A TAX CUT AND GO, NO THANKS, THAT'S

STUPID.

IT'S SUPER EASY SELL.

THIS IS WHERE THEY HAVE TO PROVE

IT DOWN THE LINE, BECAUSE YOU CAN POINT OUT WHERE ALL THE

BENEFITS ARE GOING, AND IT DOESN'T GO TO THE AVERAGE

PERSON IN AMERICA.

BUT DUH.

LIKE, ON YOUR SHOW I LOVE TO ANSWER WITH ONE WORD.

DUH.

WE CAN SAY IT WOULD TAKE A LOT OF EDUCATION TO BE ABLE TO

HAS BEEN MORE TOWARD CAPITAL AND IT HAS BEEN TOWARD WAGES.

THAT'S

SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T STOP.

THAT CONTINUES.

AND I WILL SAY

THAT TRUMP'S AGENDA WHEN IT COMES TO BUSINESS INTERESTS IS

HE'S KIND OF, YOU KNOW, GONE TO THE MIDDLE AMERICA PEOPLE AND

SAID THIS IS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES AND WORKERS --

IT ISN'T.

WHY DON'T WE GIVE AN EXAMPLE?

PITCHED AS BEING FOR SMALL BUSINESSES, THEY LOVE TALKING

AFFECT WEALTHY PEOPLE WHO SET UP THEIR INCOME AND CORPORATION IN

A PARTICULAR WAY.

YOU CAN HAVE PASS-THROUGH INCOME THAT COMES

AS A RESULT OF YOUR ONE-MAN OR ONE-WOMAN BUSINESS OPERATION, OR

YOU CAN BE DONALD TRUMP WHO SUPPOSEDLY IS WORTH HUNDREDS OF

MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, AND DO THE SAME THING.

BUT THEY SAID

CHANGING THIS TO BENEFIT THOSE WHO DO PASS-THROUGH INCOME WOULD

HELP SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS.

WELL --

ACTUALLY HIDES A LITTLE BIT OF THE TRUTH --

I DON'T RECALL THEM SAYING WE NEED TO REFORM PASS-THROUGH

INCOME SO THAT SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS CAN GET 7% OF WHAT THE

WEALTHIEST CORPORATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS ARE MAKING.

WHEN THE MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME IS 59,000.

I DON'T HAVE THE BREAKDOWN FOR THAT UNFORTUNATELY, THAT'S

THE LOWEST INCREMENT I CAN GO DOWN TO, BUT IT'S PATHETIC, IT'S

7%.

SO BEST CASE SCENARIO, THEY WERE 93% LYING TO YOU.

BUT I

THINK THE GOOD NEWS IS, VERY OFTEN I GET ANGRY AT THE FACT

SO THAT IS PROGRESS.

YES. AND THERE IS MORE WITHIN HIS AGENDA THAT IS EXPLICITLY

AGAINST SMALL BUSINESS INTERESTS, ON NERD ALERT WE

REPORTED ON AJIT PAI'S MOVES WITH THE NET NEUTRALITY

INITIATIVES, THOSE ARE EXPLICITLY FOR BIG BUSINESSES

AND AGAINST SMALL BUSINESS.

ESSENTIALLY HE'S FACILITATING SO

THAT SMALL BUSINESSES WHO NEED TO DO THINGS LIKE BUY AN

INTERNET ACCESS PACKAGE SO THEIR EMPLOYEES CAN GO ONLINE AND DO

THE BOOKS, THE DISTRIBUTION, ANY KIND OF ORDERING, AND INTERNET

STUFF, THE WAY THAT THE NET NEUTRALITY RULES ARE SET UP OUR

AGAINST SMALL BUSINESSES AND ARE FOR LARGE TELECOM CORPORATIONS

TO MAKE MORE MONEY AND THEY MAKE IT MORE EXPENSIVE FOR A

MOM-AND-POP SHOP TO SET UP THEIR T1 OR WHATEVER THEIR LANDLINE IS

WHERE THE CONNECTION IS.

IT'S FRUSTRATING ACROSS THE BOARD AND

IT'S BORNE OUT NOT JUST IN THESE NUMBERS, BUT IN JUST THE

INITIATIVE AFTER INITIATIVE HE SET UP.

EVEN BREAKING IT

DOWN FURTHER, IT SETS IT UP TO MAKE IT HARDER FOR THESE SMALL

BUSINESSES TO ACTUALLY CREATE JOBS THAT PEOPLE NEED AND ARE

ATTAINABLE FOR AMERICANS.

AND LOGISTICALLY THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS FOR HOW COMPLICATED

AND DIFFICULT IT IS FOR YOU TO GO THROUGH THE PROCESS OF

SETTING THIS UP KNOWING THAT WHAT YOUR TAX CUTS ARE.

THE ONLY

PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE INS AND OUTS ARE STILL THE ONES WHO ARE

WITHIN THE FINANCIAL SECTORS AND INDUSTRIES AND YOU STILL NEED A

PRICEY LAWYER TO FIGURE OUT HOW BEST TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.

their dashcam and it's a should be a very painless and simple install this

dashcam fin features things like three inch display night vision it's it's

dash cam well setup was pretty easy and straightforward one couple things I will

know getting the micro SD card inside the camera was a little tricky and it

was not situated properly I had to do it a couple times before the camera

recognized it once it was in and it was fine the amount is okay it's pretty easy

to put on letting gives the opportunity for it to

jiggle just a little bit so on a rougher bumpy road you may have a little bit of

image shape some neat things about this is it has clean warning it can detect

when you're too close to a vehicle in front of you and warn you and it also

can recognize lanes while that is a feature and it also has

played it on the camera as you can see I found it was the voice was a little

distracting and excessive because it just wouldn't stop lane adjustment

whatever over and over again or too close to a vehicle in front of you when

you're just parking it's a building in front of you and it would just keep

repeating itself over and over again that being said the picture was okay for

a camera in this price range whereas I discovered the fit bit rate was a little

low it's at 16 megabits per second for video and the audio was a little higher

than it really needed to be audio was at 256 kbps I would have rather have had

the audio at like 64 mono and it means instead of stereo because there's only a

single microphone and had that extra bit rate given to the camera of the the

video quality the fuel of view and the resolution were great but the picture

can get a little blocky in areas where there is a lot of detail

so a lot of trees around with leaves and pictures I've got started getting a

little blocky you could see for yourself overall this

is a excellent beginners dashcam

and this one I'm going to actually be giving this one to my mom for her car

because she not going to go into details on that

When you are out shopping, staying at a hotel or even out at a restaurant, sometimes there

is something that sets one establishment apart from the others.

In the fast food business, they are all quite similar.

Nothing really sets one mountain of meat apart from the next.

Fried chicken is one of the easiest items to find fast but Chick-fil-a has somehow made

it a commodity.

The food is fantastic the service is unprecedented and the way they move long lines quickly keeps

people coming back.

But there is one more thing that makes you smile at the end of every transaction at Chick-fil-a,

and it's pure genius.

Fox News recently wrote, If you've ever been to Chick-fil-A, you probably noticed

that when customers say "thank you," employees say "my pleasure."

Since "you're welcome" has always been my go-to response, I had to know more.

Legend says the chain's founder, Truett Cathy, got the idea while staying at the Ritz

Carlton.

When he said "thank you" to a hotel employee, the employee replied, "my pleasure."

Cathy thought those two small words made the Ritz Carlton stand apart as a luxury establishment.

He wanted to bring that feel to his own restaurants, and the rest is history.

Though there's nothing in the official Chick-fil-A employee training on saying "my pleasure,"

according to a Reddit user who works there, it's still an important part of the company

culture.

"You're welcome seems too indifferent, and we're told to use elevated language,"

the employee says.

Is there business sense behind "my pleasure?"

Absolutely!

Chick-fil-A is known for taking customer service that extra "mile," according to Kristen

Hunter, a marketing consultant for the restaurant chain.

"The first mile is the foundation good customer service, hot food hot, cold food cold.

The second mile is what we do that's remarkable," she says in an interview.

In the case of "my pleasure," the subtle change in the expected lingo sends a unique

message to customers, adding an element of extra care.

In fact, using the word "pleasure" at all in a customer interaction is a brilliant

tactic for making customers happy, according to CBS Moneywatch's Michael Hess in his

article, "The 6 Best Words in Customer Service."

I know people love Chick-fil-A, and not only because the waffle fries are amazing.

We're happy to report that many customers are absolutely delighted to hear "my pleasure"

in lieu of "you're welcome."

I love that Chick-fil-a decided that it would set it's self apart by not only providing

amazing chicken but making the experience memorable as well.

The chain has been routinely criticized by liberals mostly for their Christian beliefs

being against other people's liberal agenda, but also for their "over the top" and

"fake" customer service.

Their's nothing fake about how they treat people, which is genuinely why some are not

happy about being treated kindly it disproves their beliefs.

They want to be proven right when they're wrong, and what's really real is that with

a business model such as this, Chick-fil-a is successful.

People want to be treated well.

In recent years they have been the subject of ridicule for their Christian based business

that closes, on Sundays so their employees can attend church services.

When coffee giant Starbucks has to shut down their entire chain for a day for racial training

on how to treat people better and what's right and wrong, you have to wonder what could

have been gained from doing that every Sunday on the regular, putting a precedence on religious

values and respect of self and others.

Being constantly criticized has not slowed Chick-fil-A down.

As a matter of fact, it did just the opposite.

People came out in droves to support their local Chick-fil-a, which is not something

most other chains can say.

Regardless of how you look at this business, they are doing the right things, and it's

their pleasure to continue to serve you.
