Installation Gx Works2 Demo for Programming PLC FK3U LE3U or FX1N FX2N FX3U Lollette: PDAControl - Duration: 4:34.

Greetings, I trust this video will be boring we will only install the software

I get my new PLC Lollette is technically a Clone

With a cost of less than 40 dollars (USD)

Then we will carry out a complete revision to the PLC

For now we will focus on the software that was more complicated to find

I do not know if you remember using Lubuntu, these software were designed for Windows

I have a virtual machine with WIndows 7 Ultimate and here we will install the programming software

The programming software is the Gx Works 2 of Mitsubishi, I found it in the page www.plcs.net.pl

the link to the download from www.plcs.net.pl I will leave it on my website in description of this video.

It's Gx Works 2, it's a demo of 60 days, they'll say there are more current versions but this version is fine for me

It has 2 SFC and LADDER programming languages.

has debug mode, online modification and simulator

This will take your time, but I will record the entire installation process quickly

On the default PLC it is serial RS232, I plan to adapt an ESP8266 to program it remotely.

I repeat again This version is DEMO !!

Since I do not have a license I will only use it for some tests, as long as the software allows it

We just need to restart our PC or virtual machine in my case

Here is MELSOFT / Gx Works

This is the programming software for our PLC

The truth could be simply reprogramming the firmware of the PLC Lollette since it is an ARM

and program it in C but using this firmware by default with an industrial software like Gx Works gives it an Industrial robustness

It has digital inputs to 24v outputs to relay, analog outputs and analog outputs not isolated apparently, also has RS485

For less than 40 dollars we will see later, if perhaps it is up to my Panasonic PLC between 200 and 400 USD, Regards

Resistance Band Training at Home or Gym | NT Loops Review - Duration: 0:57.

[Nick Tumminello] The length and size of the NT loops compared to your standard latex bands

which are 40 inches in length the NT loops are 50 inches in length we have

two types of NT loops here same size different resistance we have the burn is

the red and the burn Plus which is the blue we recommend you get both because

regardless of your strength level just like you wouldn't do the same weight and

bicep curls as you would do deadlifts certain exercises require certain

resistances and not every exercises the best for all resistances the material is

very soft very stretchy but it won't pop it won't roll it won't peel like

traditional latex bands now we want to make sure you have grip that's where the

insides of these bands come in so the inner layer the black you see is fabric

but the gray that you see that is rubber

Is the Hyundai Kasse a Ledger Nano Killer?! New Hardware Wallet Review - Duration: 10:35.

What's up everyone, so if you are a daily crypto user like myself you have probably

looked into hardware wallets.

Now, I've done reviews on a number of different ones.

I've used the Trezor, KeepKey, Ledger…

And today I'm bringing you a new one, the Hyundai Kasse.

It's a nice little very small form factor multiple compatible coins hardware wallet.

I was really hoping with the small form factor it would be kind of a Ledger killer.

And I have been using it as my daily driver for erc 20 tokens, but as much as I have liked

the experience there's a couple of big drawbacks that have really kind of kept from being my

all around favorite which I think at this point trezor is still taking the cake on that

one.

But we're gonna dive in take a look at it we're gonna look at the pros and cons.

And get your first little eye at the Hyundai Kasse.

Alright what's up everyone I have to admit that we actually ended up grabbing lunch and

totally never even finished filming the video.

But I'm coming back at you from the office and were gonna dive down and we're gonna take

a look at the Hyundai Kasse.

Now I may have been a little bit harsh with my words in the beginning but, I want to be

very clear on this.

It's a great little device, I actually really do like the thing, it's been my everyday carry

specifically for erc 20 tokens for a while.

Its well built, it looks nice, it's well put together; there are just some minor flaws

that I think really become big issues in the long run in terms of usability.

But anywho, so let's take a look at what we've got here.

So it does come very nicely packaged, of course you've got your nice little box here.

Comes with your basics, you've got your user manual, underneath here of course you have

your usb for hooking up to your computer, a nice little lanyard, and actually the one

thing i do not have in here at the moment is your recovery key.

Which you would write your seed word down on, I've said it in every other hardware

wallet video, it's incredibly important that you write this seed down, you keep it

in a safe place.

If your device is ever lost, you can recover the funds and that is just an absolute necessity

if you're working with a hardware wallet.

Now the other side to that is you have to keep it very, very safe; Put it somewhere

nobody will find it because once again if somebody does get ahold of that they can extract

your funds.

But anywho, so let's take a look at the device itself.

Okay so it's a small device, you can see it here next to a normal usb flash drive.

So it is small, it doesn't quite compete with the opendime which is just absolutely the

tiniest little thing.

But it is still a small form factor which is really what i was looking for in one of

my everyday carry wallets.

It has your two little controls here, single click and also double click for your different

functions.

And you've got your little usb connector right there.

Now the form factor is great but these two buttons are one of the biggest issues with

the device.

So we're actually going to back out I'm going to plug this in and you'll see my

major gripe with this.

Okay so we're going to plug this guy in and get going.

Now as i mentioned the big issue that I have is with these two buttons, and right here

you will see why.

So most hardware wallets obviously you're going to have, you know entry so that you

can get the device turned on.

Most wallets nowadays are doing this via giving you an image on the device itself and then

a pad on your screen that you physically you use the computer to enter in that information.

Kasse went a different route.

Arguably more secure, but what they've done is to enter the device or do any kind of selection

everything is done on the device itself rather than within the software, so this entry for

just getting into the device; setting your pin code I always suggest that you go out

as long as they allow.

So in the case of kasse thats a ten digit pin.

Now the primary issue with this is that the left button shifts your number and the right

button will move over so that you can fill the next one.

If like myself you did a ten digit pin your entry is going to look like this.

You're gonna have to do literally somewhere in between fifty and a hundred clicks just

to get your pin in.

It works….but that is a serious, serious design flaw in my eyes.

Every time I want to confirm a transaction or use the device, that is an exorbinatelky

long time to have to punch things in.

It does not make selection easy.

I think that is one major drawback that they really should've considered and on, you know,

follow up designs i really think that needs to be reevaluated.

It's a little thing but as I said it's been my daily driver for erc 20s and i can not

tell you how frustrated i have become with that process.

Now as for the software side of things.

It is a very very simple software suite to use.

It does come with a number of different coins already ready to go.

You've got bitcoin, bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold, ethereum; which all of the ethereum

erc 20s can be accessed within there, i'll show you that in just a moment.

We also have ethereum classic, ripple, dash, litecoin, zcash, qtum, and hdac.

So it is coming in above trezor in terms of the baseline coin support.

Same with the keepkey, but once again it is falling behind ledger in terms of total coin

support numbers.

But, so I said I've been using this for my erc 20 daily driver.

Now the main reason for that, is i do give them credit; their software interface is one

of the most simple and intuitive that I have used of any of the hardware wallets out there.

I really like the way they have this set up.

Very nice dashboard that actually shows you the ethereum pricing it shows you a chart,

it gives you the ability to send and request.

So I really do like that.

And with the erc 20s i'll show you here.

Very simple access, just come in.

And to add access your just going to go and your either going to search the token name,

and they do have a pre populated list, or you can add the contract yourself.

And right there you've got access to all of your erc20s.

Lets see, we'll select this one, and there we are, you can see access to your erc 20s.

Now this brings me to my other gripe with the kasse "suite" if you will.

One of the most basic functions of just about any cryptocurrency out there is multi address

generation.

There's absolutely no reason that we are stuck with a single address.

And I've been poking and trying to figure it out, but it would appear that at least

on the software side the kasse actually locks you into only being able to generate the one

original address unless you generate an entire seed word and wallet.

This is an issue to me because, you know obviously im invested in crypto personally.

But it's also a business side of things for me as well, and having a hardware wallet is

key for both my personal and business life and there's no reason that you can't store

funds from both sides in the same device, but they should be kept separate and there

is no physical way to do that.

I find it truly baffling that they don't have multi address generation, that is a very key

feature that i think really should be written in in a following software update or something

of that nature.

Now i have griped about it for quite a bit but i have to say, the software interface

is great, it's a small device; the issues kind of won't be game changers if you're just

looking for an everyday device to use, im still using it all the time but i do think

there are improvements to be made.

But all around i really would actually prefer this over a ledger if i had the choice, but

when it comes down to it, i think for a professional device my choice still goes to the trezor.

It is what it is, that just happens to be my preference.

Some people are in love with ledgers and just wont give that up.

I really hoped the kasse would kind of you know be that.

And you know with some software updates i think it really could be but it's just not

quite there yet.

So anyways i hope you enjoyed this look at the hyundai kasse.

If you know of a new hardware wallet, a new device that's out there.

We are always looking to kind of dig into the cutting edge of crypto tech so if you've

got a device let us know/.

If you have a question about this device or any of the others out there let us know in

the comments.

And if you liked the video, subscribe and we'll see you next time.

I Think the Arsonist Is... | Vlog Assignments, Episode 7 | Guilty Party: History of Lying - Duration: 12:18.

(music)

- Well it seems the crime of the academic quarter

has been solved.

Carlson got to C.G. aka Coma Girl, aka M.M. aka

Margot Miller aka my bestie before I did.

Now, if this was a late night drama procedural,

I would have beat her but it was a good run.

I think we're both on the same page about

who the culprit is but only one of us can get the A.

Drum roll please.

The person with the most volatile personality,

the most to lose and the most placed

at the scene of the crime is,

Wilson.

First name, not remembered and not needed.

One, according to Margot Miller,

the cuff algorithm is flawed.

If it doesn't work, it's curtains

for the Moynihan and Dr. Wilson project.

Two, Alvaro knew about a scandal that was gonna destroy

Dr. Wil-wil's reputation, a protective Wilson

threatened his now ex-best friend with bodily harm.

Three, Wilson has anger management issues.

He's been known to resort to violence over minor

inconveniences.

He once knocked an ice sculpture at a yacht party because

he was drunk and he said it was looking at him funny.

He also punched a hole in his bedroom door,

because he said the handle was looking at him funny.

(laughs)

Oh, the man does not humor it seems.

I love humor.

All in all, of everyone in the class, Wilson has the motive

and the means to be the culprit and of course,

Cat will get to break the news on her very special

podcast episode with Moynihan.

Wait, maybe she'll get caught up in her whirlwind romance

with Wilson and she'll throw away the A-ppertunity

or she'll reveal that she's very stupid

and she'll continue to suspect that I'm the culprit.

Hackting lessons tip number

last one.

Cat's kinda cool.

If you ever meets someone who has similar interests as you,

maybe don't try and hack them right away.

They can be your friend, or better yet, your ally.

It's kinda nice to know another lady sleuth.

I've got other mysteries to explore in campus.

Maybe she'll even be interested in exploring them with me.

That's not an invitation but it's not not an invitation.

There's one thing that still bugs me about all of this

though, if professor M. is so clever, how could he have

let the cuff project get this far along,

without realizing that Dr. Wilson's code was flawed.

It can't all be to sunk cost fallacy.

He shouldn't have let it get past the development stage.

He's basically been conned ad he's gonna get nothing

for a whole lot of something and you know what they say,

you can't cheat an honest man.

- Hello, Dan watchers.

Hi to everyone who has been watching me on the Meltdown

and thank you for not confusing my curiosity of seeing

melting points of certain objects

with pre-meditative arson.

We've been asked this week to tell you guys

about our updated suspicions.

So, I guess I'll start with who I no longer suspect.

First off, Alvaro.

I've gone through the Cowan court many times over

and I think if he was guilty, he would have slipped

at this point, so, forget Alvaro.

I'm trying to.

Second, Wilson.

He does have a strong connection to the professor

through his mother but I don't see why he would

jeopardize their relationship and her business.

So, I count him out as well.

My main suspect with be Naia based on the fact,

she was there when it happened and

she likes to do things that make a statement.

Naia, I'm not saying that I think you did it.

I'm just saying that if I was the lead investigator

on the case, I'd be most intrigues on exploring

your actions.

My second suspect would be Cat, also based on the fact

that she was there eight minutes before it started

on video surveillance and she was

in a pretty destructive state.

And I won't postulate any further than that.

I am increasingly concerned though, that this class

in the pursuit of justice has done a lot more wrongdoing.

I speculate that the person who does get the coveted A

has gotten to great lengths to do so, lengths that

I'm not willing to go to just for a grade.

Truth doesn't come from pulling people apart.

It comes from when you're not afraid anymore.

You're not afraid of every micro action you make

having some big butterfly effect.

You're not afraid of REM sleep cycles

and you're not afraid of sharing your whole self,

you know, when we choose truth, we're just choosing freedom.

- Hello, everyone.

Thank you so much for joining me.

This week we're supposed to name who we think

the guilty party is.

It's all been leaning up to this moment, I suppose.

Can I get a drum roll please?

You guessed it, Wilson.

Repeat after me, we must always be wary of those who

feel upworthy to their station in life.

When you're born with an unlimited amount of money.

You grow up thinking that all problems can be handled

with a dollar amount.

It's exactly what I've been saying regarding people in power

using lies to stay in power because let's be real.

Who wouldn't want to protect their family's name

and family fortune?

Here's what I think went down.

The only thing more dangerous than an attention-hungry

rich white man with a God complex, Professor M. is

the white woman supporting him.

Yup, I'm coming for you Dr. Wilson.

See women like Dr. Wilson are a huge part of the problem.

I mean 53% anyone?

We all saw cuff glitching and mommy Wilson knows a

glitchy cuff will tank sales.

Trust me, prof M. knows too, but his ego is so big,

he'll never let anybody tarnish his public reputation.

So they use Wilson to destroy evidence

and start the fire.

Let's be real.

You can't build an empire by playing nice and you certainly

can't maintain it that way.

This class has been one big publicity stunt to boost sales.

The case was closed way before class even started.

We all know money equals innocence.

So I doubt there will be consequences for any of them.

I am really happy I got to touch base on this subject though

because we all know Moyniham will never give up

the real guilty party.

But I am curious to see what kind of nonsense Moyniham

proclaims in class this week.

That's all for this time.

Thank you so much for tuning in

and if you get nothing from this vlog, please remember this.

Don't just talk about it, be about it.

- Hey, everyone.

Good to see you again.

I honestly couldn't wait to turn on the camera today

and start vlogging and no, it's not because I'm a

little self-absorbed, I'm actually a lot self-absorbed.

First, I wanna thank you.

You stuck by me through this entire journey

and semi to full-blown existential crisis.

I seriously totally cannot have done this without you.

Secondly, I'm excited to inform you that

I will not be publishing an article with the big buzz.

I do think it's in my best interest as well as others

and I can't believe that I'm actually saying that.

More on that in a minute.

For our final assignment, the professor has tasked us

with revealing who we think the prime suspect is.

In the past, I've been quick to jump to conclusions

and point fingers and share information that I had

no business sharing.

In making mistakes like getting close to seriously

hurting someone I care about, I've realized something

about myself.

I am addicted to attention.

Even recently, I published something about a fellow student

that I shouldn't have, sure it was a confessional but

maybe part of my job is trying to figure out whether

a confession is even needed.

From now on, I'm going to use my better sense of judgment

when sharing things with the public.

That's why I didn't take this assignment lightly

and I've considered all possibilities.

Sure Erika does super shady and impossibly flamboyant things

and Harper has convict written all over her but

there's only one person I am totally confident enough

to pin the blame on.

Drum roll, please.

I've decided not to say.

(people sigh)

Yes, I'm serious.

I know that it's not like me but everything

that I have on this one person is

so very very circumstantial

and on top of that I think she's becoming close to someone

I consider a friend of mine, even if that person doesn't

consider me their friend anymore.

Cuff is going to be released soon and to be honest,

I can't wait.

And the professor is even doing the official launch

announcement at our very own college radio station,

which if you ask me has to be the dingiest tech launch

in the history of Silicon valley.

And even though Margot is fine and still refusing to see me,

I wanna know who set up the fire, don't you?

I guess we'll just have to wait.

Soon, Cuff will reveal everyone's fate.

- Guilt.

It's an interesting concept.

Where does it start and where does it end?

In this case is the person who lit the fire the only one

who's guilty?

I don't know if I believe in guilt

as defined by a single individual.

To Cat's point we live in a world where a flap

of a butterfly can make all the difference.

That all being true, I have said and I will say again,

that there is one person I saw at the scene of the crime

and that person is Trip Wilson.

Now, of course the question is,

why would he burn down the building with the foundation

of his technology in it?

Could it be that Dr. Wilson and the professor had more

than professional relationship

or could it be just a daring and fire-filled way to do

what Freud said is our most basic instinct,

to grab the attention of our mothers.

Whatever reason it is, my number one suspect stays the same

as it's been throughout, Trip Wilson.

- Hola, beautiful people.

- Today we've been assigned to straight up to clear

who we think the guilty party is.

- So let's do this.

- And for what seems like the first time ever,

Bell and I actually have a different opinion on things.

- My gal is obsessed with true crime.

I mean in every vlog she mentions a psychopath.

Sounds like it takes one to know one.

- My guy is the only one connected to the company that's

making Cuff and our professor.

That gives him a motive.

- My gal is way too obsessed with our professor.

So there's your motive and did you see the vlog

where she mentions and I quote,

"At a certain point secrets become weapons

and then there's no value in exposing them."

I mean she's pretty much saying that she did it

but she's not gonna tell anyone.

- My guy is more like us than we thought.

It turns out we're not the only ones penny pinching

around here.

We're basically doing an ad campaign for a company

that's selling a product that could have solved

the fire case immediately or even prevented it

from happening.

- My gal was drunk and disorderly the night of the crime

at the scene.

That's a slam dunk.

- Not as good as mine.

My guy has some serious anger issues and the connects

just to get offs got free.

Not to mention, have you seen his vlogs yet?

It's a seriously complicated relationship to both

the professor and the school.

- [Bella] Who do you think our suspects are?

- Cat and Wilson.

- Okay, I can't believe you think it's Wilson.

Is it because we both hooked up with him?

- Trust me. I've moved on.

Nothing personal if you're watching this, Trip.

Anyways.

- Wait, what if they both did it together?

- Hmm, that's strangely romantic.

How I Style My Short Hair - Duration: 3:41.

Hi everyone! So today's video is sponsored and I'm going to show you how I style my

short hair and I've been using some haircare products from Aquos so let's go

ahead and get started a really cool thing about aquas is their products

protect against water damage and did you know what hair is we care so when it

stretches and swells it makes it prone to damage and this is where the water

defense pre wash spray comes in this product fortifies hair from the inside

out to keep strands from getting waterlogged and balancing hair to its

natural pH so I'm just gonna spray this in my hair prior to getting into the

shower and I like that this takes no time whatsoever it's very quick to just

spritz this in my hair and I also love the way this product makes my hair feel

so after that I'm just gonna go ahead and get in the shower and I'm actually

going to wash my hair towards the end of my shower and this is where the next

product comes in this is the rebalancing hair wash and did you also know that

lather doesn't necessarily mean clean really the chemicals that cause those

bubbles are damaging to your hair and they don't really get your hair any

cleaner than the gentle cleansers that Aquos uses so the rebalancing hair wash

will gently remove dirt oil and other impurities while maintaining the hair pH

balance and protecting the cuticles so on to step three I'm gonna use the rapid

dry hair turban and this is great for reclaiming strength in your hair while

drying your hair quickly and also gently the less time hair is wet the stronger

it'll be so the rapid dry hair turban will dry your hair 50% faster than

regular towels without friction or heat so all I've done is just twisted my hair

into the towel and I'm gonna let this sit for about seven to eight minutes and

then I'm going to go ahead and undo this after that I'm gonna move on to step

four step four is the restorative leave-in conditioner I really like this

product and I'm just gonna go ahead and spray this into my hair while it's damp

and this is gonna provide hydration and also detangle without weighing my hair

down plus I really love the scent of all these products it has like a very very

light citrusy scent and it's just left my hair feeling so soft and healthy so

I'm just gonna go ahead and brush out my hair blow-dry it and I'm gonna get to

styling

so what I like to do after blow-drying my hair is just divide my hair into

sections and I'll start at the bottom and work my way up to the top of my head

and all I'm doing now is just straightening out my hair and I don't

always do this sometimes I like to just leave my hair in its natural stage I'll

just use a little bit of mousse and some gel and let my heart be kind of unruly

and curly the way in house really is and sometimes I like to go ahead and

straighten it out like it is here and I just really love how these products have

made my hair look incredibly healthy and shiny and I'm going to show you guys

actually a before and after at the end of this video but I'm going to go ahead

and show you how I have been styling my hair if I do put a slight wave to it and

I like to do this slight Bend by using a flat iron and I just like to work on the

top layers of my hair when I do this so I'm creating this slight Bend that's

about eye level and these are all uniform waves going away from my face

and that's just what I've been liking to do lately this pretty much looks very

similar to what Ingrid Nilsen did when she first chopped off her hair if you

guys remember that I really liked that haircut when her hair was shorter and

this was kind of the style she had going so that's kind of what I've been doing

and then I'll also kind of twist some of those bottom layers away from my face so

that it looks even Messier and I just kind of like that and I'll just use some

hairspray and also some serum and that is the finishing style and here's a

quick before and after of using these products so I hope you guys like this

video give it a thumbs up and subscribe and I'll see you guys on the next one

alright bye

How Parents Influence Kids' Gender Roles - Duration: 2:49.

My boys are growing up in a world where I don't think they've ever questioned whether or not

a woman could be a doctor or whether or not a man could be a dancer.

They're not assigning roles to gender because that's their reality.

But unfortunately outdated stereotypes are still very much alive today.

So we as parents need to be raising kids that are aware and mindful,

that just because they are not hearing these sort of things on a regular basis, that they are very real.

One day when my boys were younger we went to a popular fast food restaurant

and the person working the drive-through asks me, "Is that for a boy, or is it for a girl?"

We were quiet in the car and my boys are like, "Why does that matter?"

So we get to the window and they give us these kid meals, and it turns out the reason that they were asking

is because there are two very specific toy options: one of which is for boys, one of which is for girls.

And my boys did not want that toy that was for the boy.

We had to park the car and go inside to make them give me the toy for a girl.

These conversations are important because what they see from me and from their mother

and from society, that is going to shape their view of gender roles.

In our home, I take on a lot of responsibilities that previous generations would have scoffed at.

The idea of a man doing laundry, and dropping off the kids at practice, and going on field trips, and changing diapers.

Conversely my wife, she'll fix the dryer. She'll put in a ceiling fan.

Frankly, she's better at that than I am, so why wouldn't she do that.

For our boys to grow up seeing that in action and know that it's not staged, that it's our reality, that's going to open them up to so many other possibilities.

I'm not saying, "Oh, you can't ever talk to your girls about bunnies if they loves bunnies.

You can only talk to them about science".

Meet them where they are, and same with boys.

By no means do I want to imply that it's wrong for kids to embrace things that they enjoy

just because it falls on one side or the other; just that it shouldn't be mandated by us.

Kids can be anything. Girls can be strong, boys can be strong.

Girls can be sensitive, boys can be sensitive.

And everybody loves glitter.

To see kids grow up embracing that, it makes for such a brighter future, a healthier environment for everyone.

Top 10 Scary Iranian Urban Legends - Duration: 9:20.

Iran!

Theres a country we havent covered yet - in fact, theres a whole bunch of middle eastern

countries with amazing mythology and scary stories that weve barely touched on.

Once I had a look, it was actually tough to decide which country to start with but I had

to choose one - and I went with Iran.

Youre about to find out why.

My name is Danny Burke and this is the Top 10 Scary Iranian Urban Legends.

Just a quick reminder as well guys that we have a new channel - Top 10 Hindi, you can

find the link up there, in the description box and maybe even in the comments.

Its just like Most Amazing Top 10 except we do videos in Hindi and English.

I say we, its not me Rebecca or Landon - its our new host Ayman, shes great, the videos

are great, go and have a look right after this video.

For now though, lets get into our number 10 which is Al[a].

In Persian folklore, Al is said to be a demon of childbirth.

Their sole purpose in this world is to interfere with human reproduction.

Usually, they take the form of a scrawny old woman with a clay nose and bright red face.

She also has sharp fans, disheveled hair, copper claws, iron teeth and the tusks of

a wild boar.

The old woman attacks pregnant women but like the evil being it is - it only strikes when

they are alone and at their most vulnerable.

She wants their organs and will attempt to take the womans liver or lung, afterwards

she will put them in a basket which she carries at all times.

If she is successful, the demon will attempt to escape and cross the first source of water

- at that point, the woman can not be saved.

Believers use special wards or charms to prevent the demon from reaching water, thereby saving

the pregnant woman and the baby she is carrying.

Next up at number 9 we have the Manticore.

This is an ancient persian creature of legend that has been both feared and revered over

the millenia.

Its said to have the the head of a human, the body of a lion and a tail made up of venomous

spines similar to porcupine quills or perhaps even the tail of a scorpion.

Its appearance has been compared to the sphinx of ancient Egypt.

The manticores name literally translates to man eater - which kind of gives you a clue

as to what its all about.

Ancient descriptions talk of its 3 rows of sharp teeth and the fact that it would hurl

its poisonous spikes at enemies like arrows.

Essentially, this creature was like all the scary things in the animal packed into one

animal whos name is literally man eater - I don't think they would have made the best

pets.

Moving on to number 8 we have The Peri[b].

These are winged spirits originating from Persian and Armenian mythologies.

On a scale of morality, they are often described as being somewhere between angels and evil

spirits of the world.

Generally speaking though, they were seen as beautiful female spirits created by God

after the vicious divs - theyre a different type of creature together and very much seen

as evil.

Evil Peris are often grouped in with them.

In some folklore they appear to humans - there have been tales of them punishing hunters

in the mountains who are disrespectful or who waste resources or even abducting young

humans for their social events.

To summarise, generally seen as beautiful - but perhaps theres more to them than meets

the eye … bit like me.

Just kidding.

No.

No Im kidding.

Coming in at number 7 now we have The Patient Stone[c].

This a well known and popular Persian folktale.

The story says that the patient stone listens - thats what it does, it is an empathic listener

- it absorbs the sorrows and pains of the person who confides in it.

One story talks of a mistreated girl who achieved her true destiny by talking to the Patient

Stone - but its also known for its explosive tendencies.

Its said that when the stone can no longer contain the pain it harbors, it bursts into

pieces.

This is seen as a sacrifice, a way of destroying the main that would otherwise crush the one

who bears the burden of sorrow.

Next up at number 6 we have The Ghoul.

With a name like that, how could it not be on the list?

A ghoul is actually an old Arabic that didnt even enter the English language until the

late 18th century.

In Persian culture, Ghouls are demons or monsters associated with graveyards and consuming flesh.

Some accounts state that a ghoul lives in the desert and shapeshifts into animals in

order to hunt humans - one of its favourite forms is that of a hyena.

The ghoul lures unwary people into the desert.

Once they are alone and out of sight of other people - the ghoul kills and devours them

on the spot.

The creature also preys on young children, drinks blood, steals coin and eats the dead.

An all round baddy, you might say.

Perhaps even more scary though is its ability to take the form of the person it most recently

ate.

Imagine how scary it would be realising that your friend was really a ghoul.

Perhaps you should check in the near future, better safe than sorry.

Moving on to number 5 now we have The Night Hag.

This is a great one.

Its a concept that exists in a number of different cultures but in Iran its known as the Baxtak.

Its said to be an evil ghost or creature that causes sleep paralysis.

In Iran though, theres a slight twist on this well known legend.

The Baxtak is a sort of guardian of treasures.

It is believed that the creature somehow knows about hidden treasures - however, its always

a closely kept secret - especially to mortals like us.

Humans are not supposed to even know about the hidden treasures existene and especially

not where it is located - there is a way to find out though.

Legend says that if you grab the creatures nose, it will be forced to tell you where

the hidden treasure is.

If you cant manage that because of the paralysis, wiggling your fingers can release you from

its clutches, at least for now …

Next up at number 4 we have the Zar[d].

In Persia and across the middle east, people used to speak in hushed tones of the Zar - a

demon or spirit that possess people.

It would mainly target women, causing them great discomfort or illness.

Of course, the concept of possession exists in a lot of cultures across the planet.

It doesnt matter what the religion is, what the evil spirit is called - many cultures

resort to the same thing - exorcism - the practice of expelling a demon from the person

it has possessed.

If you think of a Christian exorcism, youre probably picturing a very serious looking

priest in a dark room and a scary looking girl with crazy eyes just growling in the

corner.

Maybe thats just me.

When it came to the Zar though, it was a very different affair.

There have been some accounts of Zar exorcisms being akin to a night of entertainment - they

would involve food, musical performances and dancing.

The Exorcist would have been a very different movie if they were expelling a Zar, let me

tell you that …

Moving on to number 3 now we have Daval Pay[e].

This is an evil creature with flexible legs that resemble leather straps which he uses

as tentacles to ensnare and then enslave human beings.

The slaves are then forced to carry him on their shoulders or backs.

When theyre not carrying them, they are made to do hard labor.

This goes on forever until the human slaves die of fatigue.

In some stories he takes the form of an old man who sits by the side of road, imploring

passersby to carry him across a nearby stream.

Once he is on the victims back, a long leg comes out from his belly and twists around

the victims waise.

Once the grasp is firm, he orders them to work for him.

In all accounts of this evil being, there is said to be only one way to be released

from his grip and be rid of him - alcohol - not for human, but for the Daval Pay - once

he is intoxicated, he is said to release his grip just enough for a slave to wriggle free.

Presumably they then run for their life and never look back.

Im guessing thats the final part.

Moving on to number 2 we have the Jinn[f].

I guarantee youve already heard of this before - you just don't know it.

Jinn is the arabic name, in English these creatures are known as Genies.

See, I told you youd know what they are.

However, Jinns are a far cry from the bubbly blue genie from Aladdin.

In ancient Persian culture, a Jinn was a spirit or demon - a supernatural creature, sometimes

worshipped and sometimes seen as malevolent.

Many people feared Jinn and thought they were responsible for causing various disease or

mental illnesses.

Because of human hostility and how outnumbered by humans they are, Jinn were thought to inhabit

desolate places, often dingy and dark - places where they were unable to harm humans, unless

one wandered too close.

And finally at number 1 we have the Evil Eye[g].

This is a belief that is not exclusive to Iran - but it has existed there for a long

time.

The evil eye is said to be a curse or legend cast by a malevolent glare.

Most of the time, its given to a person when they are unaware, it could even have happened

to you today!

The belief is that receiving this curse will lead to deep misfortune or even physical injury.

As a form of defence, many cultures create talismans in an effort to ward off the curse.

In Iran, as a legacy of the Ottoman Empire, it is not uncommon to see Nazars - blue coloured

glass in the shape of an eye that are said to keep the curse at bay and the tragedies

that will follow it …

Well that was really interesting, do we have any viewers from Iran?

Other than my terrible pronunciations, I hop you enjoyed the video!

Im thinking we do Iraq or Lebanon next, I had a little look at their legends and they

look great - its up to you though so let me know - don't forget to check out top 10 hindi

- thanks for watching, my name is Danny Burke and Ill see you all in the next video!

First Week as a Youtuber | Most Powerful Thing I Learned For Channel Growth - Duration: 4:08.

what's up content creators it's your boy the masked youtuber the one that will take

your channel to 1 million subscribers today are very quick one week progress

update of my channel and a few insider tips to help you grow your

channel so it's been one week yeah I'm so excited I'm so excited I'm pumped by the

progress at the time of filming this video I'm currently at 58

subscribers 58 subscribers in one week can you believe this and all this

because of you guys I would like to thank you a lot for your support here's

a thumbs up if you have not already click on the subscribe button below and

hit the bell also click on the cute little like button to give this video a

thumbs up my biggest takeaway my biggest takeaway I learned this week as a

youtuber is simple you can't force people to watch your videos you can't

force people to subscribe to your channel the sub4sub and telling

people to subscribe is completely useless if they like your content they will

subscribe and watch your videos so focus on doing great videos great content if

you are not already here are a few important inside the stats on my channel

first I'm getting around 180 views every 48 hours which is around 90 views per

day most of these views are coming from my YouTube page why it's because of a

comment strategy i've been using people seeing my comment clicking on my

username visiting my channel watching my videos and clicking on the subscribe

button the search feature is bringing around 7%

of my traffic and suggested a poor 0.7% which is most probably because I

don't currently have many videos search is when someone looks for something on

YouTube and your video appears in the search results and suggested is when Youtube

puts your video in the right section when someone is watching

another video this is where all the free autopilot traffic lies guys this is

where you need to focus all your attention full tutorial coming in the

future to explain how to optimize your videos to hit this source of traffic

we're gonna hit it hard last but not least here's my subscribers stats for

the past five days as you can see it's pretty good i gained 70 subscribers in

total and lost 18 all this because of a commenting strategy I've been using you

will notice what I gained 24 subscribers on the 13th of November and lost 11 it's

because I was experimenting with the sub4sub strategy guys this is the

real proof but the sub4sub strategy simply does not work the sub4sub

commentors will simply subscribe to your channel and then unsubscribe a few days

later or when you upload a new content

you better stop going for their bait and also check the video I did on why sub4sub

comments are completely destroying your channel link in the top right

corner of this video as from this point I will be doing weekly updates on the

progress of my channel and focus all my other videos on giving you actual

tutorials on how to optimize your channel don't you excited excited like

me to watch for future videos click on the subscribe button below like this

video and I see you in the next video

Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals, Top 10 Online Shopping Tips , Early Bird Sales, Awesome over 50 - Duration: 20:46.

Hey awesome ones! Hey awesome ones. Heather here and Bill here this time and

we're in that new area. I don't know if you saw the video...actually why don't we

just put the link up for the video up there.... where we we already have a little

studio in one of our bedrooms and now we have made another three parts to do in

our basement. This is kind of like the interview area...podcast area and another

area where we're going to show like our top ten lists and we're gonna give you

the facts Jack or Jacqueline, whatever the case may be. Exactly whatever so now today this is the very first video

in this little area and what we want to do is we're....we just love Black Friday

and Cyber Monday, fantastic and shopping online is where it's at. We want to give

you ten of our top tips for really the biggest deal days...right... oh absolutely by

far-- in most countries the biggest deal days Black Friday Cyber Monday. When

is Black Friday in Cyber Monday Bill? Around thanksgiving, U.S. thanksgiving. It's a Friday and a Monday

It's actually....this wasn't in the script. It actually is....the Black Friday is the

Friday after the American Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday is the following Monday

but you did pretty good there. Let's get on with the video. It all starts in just a few seconds.

So whether you're looking for the latest fashion items or beauty or tech items

even vacation packages, airline flights, housewares, kitchen items....what am I

missing Bill? I think you covered most of it but maybe items for the pet like

Hurricane .We got a lot of things for...well not for him but for pets....fashion

for men. I've got some things on there as well and how about sports items too

there's a lot of sports items that you can get as well. So this is the time to

get your list ready whether it's for yourself or maybe something you

want to get in the next six months or maybe it's a gift for somebody as well

and the nice thing about shopping online is you really avoid those crowds and

you're not a fan of crowds. Actually neither am i so let's get going with tip

number one. So the number one tip is start planning early. You know maybe you

do have a vacation that you want to go to maybe four months from Black Friday.

Write that down...write down that you might oh maybe you want to buy some new

skis or something...write that down...really forecast into the future....your TV is

going...write that down...get all of those items that you think you want to buy

because we're talking about deals 50% 70%. I mean there's door Crashers that

are like unbelievably cheap and you really really benefit from them so get

all the stuff written down, even gifts as I said for some people and get ready now

for number two. So tip number two is figure out your favorite stores. You know

what are the favorite stores that you like to shop at and then go and check

and see what their URLs.....or NOT because Bill and I we've been working for months

on a big surprise for you guys. Really really excited about this...we have found

stores...of course ... Bill do you want to just start setting it up here and

we're going to show you what we've got here. Check this out......

So we know ourselves how frustrating it can be to you know think of all of

the stores that are out there, what are their URLs and everything else and

especially when it's a busy day like Black Friday or Cyber Monday. So what we

created was awesomeonlinestores.com You just put it up there....it's

awesomeonlinestores.com easy to remember

and we've already done the homework for you like here we have and of course

vacation stores, beauty stores, sports places, office, some of the major

department stores, Disney things, for baby, gift baskets....oh there's so much,

there's even things for....men, clothing for men and women. So the whole idea with this

for you guys is we're really like a portal. We have done the work for you as

far as finding the website URLs. Now they are mostly...well they're pretty well all

U.S. American landing places but we're going to show you later on in the video

how you can get to your country for pretty well most of them anyway and as

you probably saw there, there are so many different kinds. We've got Airlines, we

have hotels, we have vacation packages, amazing fashion stores, high-end,

lower-end..... what else....we have....we have office items....electronics

and tech stuff like mentioned earlier. Absolutely and also because Amazon is

such a big player in this in such a great online shopping site we actually

have you landing on the electronics or actually landing on you know, certainly

books for an example. So you don't have to go looking all over the place to

land there and we really, you know we're really really proud of this and as you

probably know we don't do a lot of sponsored videos. People ask us like

every day we get emails and that sort of thing and we get them in the comments

too, a lot of them are spammed out, but you know we get asked for collagen

pills and face stuff and to be honest with you I don't want you guys to

be the guinea pigs for those things.... unless it's a case of wine.....somebody

wants me to try a new high-end wine. But you get the drift right? So we figured out a

way...like we really have to think to ourselves....how do we stay in business

doing these videos twice a week and this is it guys. This is like our main source

unless we get a big make up sponsor that I really love and trust but

this is how we do it. So if you do land on these landing pages and you do buy

through that....I'm entitled to tell you, I want to tell you that we do make

a little bit of Commission and from all the stores you pay exactly what

everybody else does and thank you so much for that. The other thing about this

awesome online store site is the fact that there are a lot of earlybird Black

Friday and Cyber Monday deals. They're probably out right now. So if you're

saying oh my gosh you know I'm gonna be really busy on you know after

Thanksgiving or whatever. So yeah go check them out right now and also don't

forget we're keeping the site up 365 days a year...thats a whole year...yeah it's a whole

year and that's gonna be good for Christmas shopping it's going to be good

for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, birthdays all kinds of things so and

when you land on the homepage which we're doing in most cases and even on

the Amazon landing pages you're going to see right away what they are offering,

what kind of sales they've got, so take a look at those stores, familiarize

yourself and and bookmark it because I think it's a real great go-to place. Good point

the bookmark, I was gonna bring that up. Yeah great minds think alike. Okay all

right, I think we're on number three now. I think so, now I just want to add a

little bit to that as I said yes there's great sales on Black Friday a lot of

them call them door Crashers I don't like web Crashers.....

sound of web crashing but anyway they're door Crashers and they usually start on

midnight of Black Friday which is of course is the day after Thanksgiving

right at the midnight point. I'm also finding there's a lot of early bird

stuff too, though but pretty soon this could be yeah not Black Friday...Black

Thursday or Black Wednesday the way things are going.

Like you say...it's just check early you know I mean obviously you might be busy

on the Thursday but if you have a moment just check out the ones you bookmark.

Have a look and maybe it is on early. There you go and the other thing that I

want to mention is of course the number three. Bill if you could just

show them on the website here, how we get to changing the currency and also

changing your country. So let's take a look at the stores here for an example.

We have ....most of these are going to land on a North American country,

....let's just go... and wherever you are many times

it'll show where you're at, in my case I'm in Canada and it is everything in

Canadian, but let's just say that it's not showing that and you want to pick a

country. Go ahead and look at all the countries....there's probably a hundred

here and let's say that I wanted to go to the UK and my currency I want in

British pounds.Just click on the British pounds and now I can shop. You're going

to see now in just a second that it changes up. Let's look at some women's

fashion and it's going to switch over. Everything is going to be available.....

there it is in British pound. So that is the way that you can shop

internationally and it's really easy to do. well by the way if they don't have a

currency converter for the website what you might want to do while you're

shopping is open a new tab. Just google it you know to your dollars or your

pounds or whatever it is. Exactly and so if it's like five dollars you know

exactly what you're paying in your currency. So those currency conversions

are really really handy. Number four is know whether they are

going to include duty charge or surprise you at the door with it and

usually this is under the shipping section just go to the shipping section

sometimes it's at the bottom where you click it's all over the place with these

sites and really really read it because again sometimes they'll say duty is

included other times they'll have a middleman you know that will be

doing it and they're going to keep your things at customs for just a little

short time because they are I guess bonded in everything and they

actually show the duty on just before you check out, but then there's that kind

of nasty one where they will not show you anything. They might hold it up at

customs and they also might knock on your door and say you owe us some money

for duty which is not really a great thing to happen. Which has happened to

our daughter, you know yeah was paid at the door or you don't get it. Yeah

exactly so those are the kind of things. Now if you're really, you know my gosh,

I've I've really looked at this store I mean a lot of them are onto this

now and they really are being clear with it in the shipping instructions, but if

you don't see it, there's always a 1-800 number and get to the bottom of it and

again this is all in the pre-planning stage but you don't want to miss this

step for sure .Yeah all right so tip number five is figure out whether that

store will send a gift to somebody else. So Bill if you can just show us on the

computer here. We have several places on our site here where you can find maybe

flowers or gift baskets. You can usually even write out your own message for the

card and have it shipped to somebody else and now some stores

will also make sure that...you know.... they send it off as a gift to somebody

else as well. So that's it. That's a really good thing to find out with the

sites. So this is great this gift-giving thing because you know is it's nice to

save money, but it's also....love saving money, but don't you love saving time and not being

around all the hoards of people and lineups and cash register lineups all

that kind of stuff. So this is a really good tip I think. What's the next one. So

tip number six is...think outside of the online shopping box. That's a good one. I

remember you know we were anticipating Black Friday and all that sort of thing

and we just kind of looked at each other and we went let's plan a Caribbean

vacation and where did we go Bill. We went to Turks and Caicos. Oh it is white sand

and turquoise water absolutely beautiful, but we saved a bundle. We saved on the

flight remember that... yeah and we also saved on you know the the hotel, the

whole bit. So yeah I think you know sometimes you just come up with an idea

and you go, yeah let's see if we can get a good deal and if it works for us

financially let's go for it and it certainly did. Now the other thing is

when I talk about...go outside the online shopping box, we also have a business, so

there are you know, you'll see in these stores that we have here that there are

places like and we may be buying a domain or a website help or emails or

something along those lines and they've got like 35 percent off. So those are the

type of things if you have your own business or a small business or you're

self-employed, don't forget to check those out as well. So number seven is

know the delivery times and the delivery rules. That's a good one. Yeah especially

when you're getting you know...you might be ordering around December the 20th and

just thinking well of course they're gonna get it in time for Christmas for

me. They have cutoff times, so you've got to know when you get into those kind of

days or before, when they're cutoff times are. The other thing are the delivery

rules and again maybe you live in an apartment building and

you're not too sure if they can deliver to you. Sometimes most of the time they

just leave a card, yeah and you have to pick it up elsewhere. That's generally

what happens, but maybe you're on an army base or something like that and it's

restricted. They don't deliver at all. So if you're in those kind of situations

check the delivery times, delivery rules as well. So talking about shipping, I got

some great news for you. Generally during the Cyber Monday, Black Friday and the

Christmas season, a lot of these stores they offer free shipping. However we have

learned details...oh yeah...yeah there's a little word probably details with an

underline underneath it and it might say free shipping on $50 or $100 or $150.

So you might not even get up to 150 dollars. So make sure....what is the

differences in the details or something like that? Check the details.

Absolutely and of course this happens all year round for a lot of

these stores too. So they might have...I think Amazon for an example a lot of

times if you buy $25 you get free shipping and on most items, not all

but most and so that's a year-round thing. So it's really good to familiarize

yourself with all of that. Now if you live in a remote area that might not

apply to you. So again you know another country...that sort of thing. So you do

want to make sure that if you are in that outskirts kind of thing, whether it's

a country or a remote area, you check it out and yeah absolutely. So number nine

is....know what kind of payments they take. Do they take l, do they take a debit

card, do they take one of those prepaid credit cards? Sometimes they don't right?

Yeah, yeah that's true. I would always you know if I was gonna wait up until

midnight, which we have done to get some of these web

Crashers or door Crashers....always have your credit card backup ready with your...

you know the actual card, so when it always is gonna ask you for that code,

usually the CVV code it's either on the front or the back. So make sure you're

ready to go with your payment, your payment type. So the number ten tip is...

just to relax. You know if you're not, but if you're not an avid online shopper

you might be really really nervous. Yeah it's like, oh my gosh, who am I giving the

credit card to. All right well let me tell you something. There are so many

security measures nowadays. I mean online shopping has been around for like 20

years and so there are so many great checks and balances with online shopping

and when you think about it, we hand over our credit card to the gas station

attendant, to somebody in a restaurant, like we don't, you know we're giving the

actual credit card to people. So there are a lot of checks and balances and the

other thing about relaxing with the whole thing is, pretty well...all the time...

you can return something, you know if it doesn't fit, if you just don't like it.

Like even some stores when you buy make up for an example, they will say

yeah they'll be saying.... you don't buy makeup but they'll say beside it you

know this item is returnable. So really kind of understand that and what I do is

if I don't like something, I just bought some slipcovers the other day. I did not

like them and I just put them back in the box sent them back. I paid for

shipping but I got my shipping money back and I also got a

full credit for the item on my credit card and it happened in like a week or

two. So it was pretty good and a lot of these stores they know they want you

to keep coming back to their stores, so the refund policy is excellent. And in

case you think we forgot....it's time for the cuteness factor.

Yes Hurricane. If you're regulars watching our channel all the time you

know we generally have the cuteness factor. He's here just to say thank you

to all of our subscribers and hey if you're not a subscriber we do videos

like twice a week and all you need to do is press the subscribe button and also

click the bell as well and we really really hope that these 10 tips help you

not just for Cyber Monday and Black Friday but all year round for your online

shopping and don't forget to bookmark the awesomeonlinestores.com where

you can have all those stores really at a glance right. That's the perfect part

of it all, in one place. And the next thing to remember too is maybe it's been

a long time since you braved Black Friday and you just hated the crowds and

you're just like, oh I don't do that at all.

Well sit at home be in your PJs and just do your shopping from there and save

yourself a ton of time and a ton of money. So we really really are so happy

to help everyone and I guess it's time to close out here and until next time,

What is Time Value of Money - Time Value of Money Formula - Duration: 9:35.

the time value of money is an important concept to understand investors can use

the time value of money to calculate the fair value of a company and people

trying to save money can use it to calculate how long it will take or how

much they would need to put aside each week month or year to achieve their

financial goal the best news is the concept is actually quite simple

so we're gonna walk through two examples the first will examine a family that

wants to save for a house the second will act as an investor who wants to

value a business so at the core of the time value of money concept is that a

dollar today is not worth the same amount as a dollar next year to

illustrate this point imagine I came to you and said I'm gonna give you a

thousand dollars and I pause during that pause you start asking yourself what

could I buy with that thousand dollars what would I use it for and then after

my unnecessarily long drama building pause I finish that sentence by saying

in ten years well that changes everything I have no idea what I would

do with it in ten years but I knew what I would do with it now I was going to

save for a house now the time value of money matters more than just knowing

what you're going to do with it or not in fact one thousand dollars today is

actually worth more than one thousand dollars in ten years much of the

difference in value revolves around what is known as opportunity cost opportunity

cost is the value of different opportunities that were forfeited by not

having that cash today so let's see how this works we're saving for a house for

now you have a thousand dollars to start saving we want to save for ten years how

much will we have in ten years let's look closer so here we are today we have

our thousand dollars what will it be worth next year well that depends on

what you do with it if you put it in a savings account that pays 2% per year

well that $1,000 is worth one thousand twenty dollars next year not bad but

what if we found two other investment opportunities one would pay us 5% and

the other would pay us 10% well the 5% is worth $1,050 next year and the 10% is

worth $1,100 I bring this out to illustrate how important the return you

get on your initial investment is and to illustrate opportunity cost

so let's stick with the 5% return from here and keep it simple and if we

stopped right here at this point well you could probably see that the $1,000

today is actually worth $50 more than $1,000 in one year in this example that

is the opportunity cost if I had offered you $1,000 today or $1,050 next year

which would you choose well if you knew you had a chance to invest the $1,000

today and get a 5% return well it wouldn't have mattered which one you

took now if I offered you one thousand sixty dollars next year well you should

take that your potential return is just five percent with today's money and I

just offered you the equivalent of six percent assuming you believe me waiting

a year makes the most sense so now let's do the math which is actually quite simple

so if we continue our example to get our $1,000 into the future we simply need to

increase that amount by our expected return

so it's $1,000 times 1 plus r, r is the return in our case we're expecting a 5%

return so $1000 times 1.05 equals $1,050 now just in case you're not super

confident with this type of math you add one to your expected return because one

represents 100% of your initial number you might have done this exact math in a

restaurant if you wanted to leave a tip you take the final bill of let's say a

hundred dollars and multiply it by the tip of let's say 20% which is 1.2 and

you end up with $120 now some people may think to themselves okay what is 20% of

$100 well that's 20 dollars then you add that $20 to the starting bill of 100 and

we get 120 dollars well this is that exact same thing just a bit shorter so

when we multiply our starting number by 1.05 or 105 percent of our starting

value this gives us next year's value they call this future value now we could

do this quite simply for each time period if you take the $1,050 times 1.05

we get 1102 dollars and 50 cents now it's important to recognize here that

during the first year our money grew by $50 and in the second year it grew by

$52.50 and that is what known as compound interest or the power

of compounding see that $50 he earned in the first year earned two dollars and

fifty cents in the second year and now it just keep happening every year the

money you earn will earn more money for you so we could do that math for each

year and keep going right down the line and that would be easy enough but there

is another shortcut so we know that this formula is the future value formula and

that is true as long as the future value is in one time period well in our case

if we wanted to skip ahead to see what the value would be in year 10 well the

only adjustment we'd have to make to the formula is to add the number of periods

right here so if we want to know the future value in year 10 we simply add 10

here and this future value will now be the value of our $1000 in year 10

assuming we earn 5% a year and in year 10 we will end up with 1628 dollars and

89 cents so if you had a calculator or Excel you can easily calculate what the

future value will be in five years or 20 years or whatever the math stays the

same so now let's see how a potential investor can use the time value of money

let's imagine that we're looking to buy a business and based on our research we

are expecting that business to generate free cash flow of ten thousand dollars

next year and thirteen thousand the year after then 17, 22, and

28 thousand in each of the following years then after that the

business is going to cease to exist so now the question is what are each of

these future cash flows worth today so the math is very similar to what we

already know instead of trying to calculate the future value like we did

before now we're going to calculate the present value here's what that formula

looks like so all we do is we take the future value let's use year five as an

example well we have $28,000 and we divide that by one plus the discount

rate and since it was year five we raised this to the power of five so

let's also imagine that our discount rate is five percent now the discount

rate we're using here is similar to the return rate we used before sometimes

when we calculate the future value like we did before well they call that rate

the interest rate but when we're calculating present value they called

the discount rate you might also hear it called a required rate of return so

basically if we require a return of five percent assuming that each of our

projected cash flow numbers are accurate then the

present value we calculate will be exactly what the business is worth if we

want a 5% return if we want a 10% return what we should use that as our discount

rate and this formula would give us what we should pay for the business to get a

10% return so if we finish our math here is each of the formulas

and here's what each year's cashflow is worth today so now all we have to do is

add each of these up and get the total value of the business today and that

turns out to be 76039 dollars at a 5% return or to say more accurately using a

5% discount rate now if we wanted a 10% return the value falls to 65,019 dollars

and this number being lower makes sense if you want to return more well you want

to pay less today well if you paid less than this 65,000 well your return would

be greater than the 10% discount rate we used to calculate the present value now

we did a lot of this mouth by hand and I did it using Excel which can be simple

enough because as you can see the math is not terribly complicated once you

understand the concept but there are calculators out there that have

functions that solved these exact problems as an example I use the Texas

Instruments business analyst plus calculator and I find it to be great for

this type of calculation but at the end of the day however you calculate it if

you understand the concept behind the time value of money it could be very

useful you can use it to see what your investments would be worth in five or

ten years if you invest at a certain amount of money every month now one

quick point if you adjust the frequency of deposits or investments don't forget

to adjust a number of periods in your formula so if you added money each month

and you were expecting a 5% return each year well you have to divide that 5% by

the 12 months that are in a year and that would give you a monthly return

rate of zero point four one six seven now this becomes the R in the 1 plus R

part of the formula and now you raise it to the number of months so a 5-year

investment would be 60 months so you'd raise this to the power of 60 on a

calculator they call this number of periods compounding periods and this

adjustment is true when you're calculating for either future value or

present value now if you flip this formula around a bit you can see what

our needs to be to achieve a certain goal so if you have $10,000 today and

you needed to grow to $20,000 in let's say 5 years while you plug that in and

then you can see that your calculation says that you need to return 14.87% a

year to get to your $20,000 goal within 5 years and those are just a few

examples of how people can utilize the time value of money

Katie Calls It on.... Q Tips / Cotton buds - Duration: 1:39.

Hey everyone its Katie here from Katie calls it and today I'm going to be talking

about q-tips or ear buds or cotton buds whatever you'd like to call them.

Most of us use these cotton buds to clean our ears... not a good idea.

Now the wax in our ear is to actually clean them. It keeps them clean, it

lubricates them, it protects our ears from infection, from dust and also from

insects. I mean it's quite possible that some of you would like insects in

your ears. If that's the case then by all means use q-tips. But I think you need to

weigh up the pros and cons. If you use this to remove wax from your ear you run

the risk of pushing the wax further into the eardrum and causing irreparable

damage. So you know spiders or wax I know what I'd choose. If you've enjoyed this

video and you found it helpful and informative then please subscribe to my

channel, give me a thumbs up let me know what you think in the comments below and

Top 5 Scary Items At The Warren Occult Museum - Part 3 - Duration: 5:29.

You guys requested it, so we're back with a part 3 of our list of the Top 5 Items At

The Warren Occult Museum.

Hey guys welcome back to Top 5 Scary Videos, I'm your host Lucy McPhee.

For those of you who are just jumping now, make sure you check out part 1 and part 2

of our lists before jumping into this one.

The Warrens are American paranormal investigators whose work have been brought to light thanks

to Hollywood films such as The Conjuring, The Amityville Horror, and The Nun.

And in a small Connecticut town you can find their occult museum full of some of their

most infamous findings.

So without further adieu, let's jump in.

5 Brick From Borley Rectory Labelled as the Most Haunted House In Britain,

Borley Rectory was built in 1862, it housed the rector of the parish of Borley, before

being damaged by a fire and later demolished in 1944.

However between those periods, paranormal events began to occur at the old rectory,

beginning in 1863, only a year after the house was built.

Locals of the town had reported hearing unexplained footsteps coming from the house, and then

in 1990, four daughters reported seeing the ghost of a nun 40 yards from the house.

Other locals had also reported strange occurrences, such as phantom carriages being driven by

headless horseman.

By the 1930's a new set of residents were occupying the house, and were driven to hire

paranormal investigators to perform exorcisms, during which time, one of the men was struck

by a fist-size stone.

Ouch.

In 1939, the fire was deliberately set ablaze, and locals had reported that they saw the

figure of the ghostly nun not long before it happened.

*Shudders*.

With the history of the house, it's no surprise the Warren's are holding onto one of the

surviving bricks in order to conceal the spirits trapped within.

4 Human Skulls This is the first of ma few on our list to

be collected from a Satanic Practice, and the picture is eerie and VERY unnerving.

The human skill has a star on the forward and is situated on a shelf on top of a miniature

thrown-esque stand.

I say this because the Warren's haven't go into too much detail about the history

of the skull or the satanic practice it was used in.

Likely it was used as a host, to draw in a demonic entity, or the devil itself.

Many satanic rituals regarding devil-worshipping made use of murder and cannibalism in their

rituals.

However, at the end of the twentieth century, hysteria surrounding satanic rituals died

down, and summed up as myth.

Even FBI investigator Ken Lanning stated that he had investigated 300 allegations of satanic

ritual abuse and found no evidence for satanism or ritualistic activity in any of them."

I don't know though, we live in a world devoted to the macabre, and I'm sure there

are folks out there that partake in rituals like these, but what do you guys think?

3 Ouija Board As we know, Ouija Boards, also known as Spirit

Boards, or talking boards, were introduced by Hasbro as a child's game, each player taking

turns to as questions and wait to see what the planchette spells out.

Innocent enough, right?

Well, we all know that's not the case.

The catholic church were the first to point at that the "game" can lead to occurrences

such as demonic possession, y'know, the usual, and advised inexperienced users to

not mess with it.

In 2001 Ouija boards were even burned in New Mexico by fundamentalist groups because they

believed them to be symbols of witchcraft.

But don't fret, they also burned Harry Potter books, so I'm not sure their heads were

screwed on quite right.

Regardless of everything, it's arguably pop culture that heightened the fear around

the game, with films such as The Uninvited, The Exorcist, and Paranormal Activity, all

including the game, and violent entities communicating with it.

Now, the Warren's of course have their own Ouija Board in their occult museum, there

isn't much information about it's history or where they took it from, but I'm sure

it's pretty damn creepy.

2 African Fertility Dolls Akua-ba are wooden fertility dolls from Ghana

and surrounding areas.

They are primarily used in ritualistic ceremonies and carried on the backs of women hoping to

conceive a child.

In present day they are more of a souvenir than a ritual device, but traditional users

will still wash and care for the wooden doll in hope of one day barring a child.

Like our previous number there is not much information about the dolls in the museum,

but I imagine they are storing some hefty secrets.

I mean, take a look at this picture.

Spooky.

1 Masks Used To Project Evil Entities As we now know, many of the items at the occult

museum were collected from witchcraft rituals and voodoo ceremonies, and this one is no

different.

It's a handmade Sri Lankan mask comprised of evil spirits, and primarily used in a ritualistic

ceremony to invoke the supernatural.

This is usually presented through practices such as mime, facial and body painting, and

are connected to the worship of their ancestors.

There are a handful of demon dance ceremonies, some with the belief in monsters of gigantic

proportions, know as the demon of the graveyard, and others that are just associated with a

group of demons.

Either way, these ritualistic masks are used to summon demonic entities, and the history

this mask holds is dark and unnatural.

Well there we have it!

We are very quickly running out of items in the Warren Occult Museum, but feel free to

let us know if there are any that you think we missed.

If you're a fan of the Warrens or just spooky and cursed items, feel free to give this video

a big thumbs up, subscribe, and hit that notification bell so you never miss another scary vid.

And until next time, see ya later.
