We all know that there's nothing better than a GPS to help keep us on track when we're on our bikes.

However, we also know how difficult it is

to wade you way through the myriad of different products available on the market.

Well, I'm going to help you make the right choice.

First of all, what is a GPS? GPS stands for Global Positioning System,

a satellite location system.

Around 30 satellites were launched by the US in the 1970s

and they have been used for civilian purposes since the early 2000s.

A GPS is quite simply a measurement tool

which is permanently connected to a series of satellites

which exchange information to locate your geographical position.

The benefits of using a GPS as supposed to a traditional on-board computer are undeniable:

more information, they're easy-to-use and they have hi-tech functions.

Basically, they can enhance your ride experience.

There are two types of GPS:

those with maps and those without.

GPS units without maps are minimalist,

compact, lightweight and are designed with performance in mind.

The information displayed during and after a ride

enable you to analyse your performance in terms of speed,

distance, height gain and loss

as well as many other criteria.

GPS units with maps are fun to use as they enable you to navigate and receive directions on a map.

Such units often have significantly larger screens to make the map more visible.

Such models are prefect for touring.

How should you go about choosing a GPS unit?

As I'm sure you're aware, you need think things through before you buy a GPS and you need to be very clued up

depending on the level of precision and the GPS brand.

Energy source – most GPS models that feature a battery have a rechargeable battery.

The screen size is important as the information displayed needs to be visible,

especially if it's a GPS with maps.

What about a touch screen?

And what about compatibility with a multitude of other accessories

so that you can further analyse your performance

by using a heart rate monitor,

a cadence, speed or power metre

or even your camera.

Make sure that your device has the standard connections:

ANT+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

As regards price, you can find simple GPS units with the main functions for less than €100.

Top of the range models with maps and state-of-the-art functions can cost up to €500.

One frequently asked question is "are they easy to use?"

I can assure you that GPS units have come on leaps and bounds over the last few years

and so have their ergonomics.

They are now very intuitive and it takes just a few minutes to get to grips with the device.

In conclusion, if you only need information on your performance,

I would advise you to look for a small, light, easy-to-use GPS without maps.

A modestly priced device will provide you with all the essential information

such as speed, distance and height gain.

The higher the price, the higher the level of analysis with more advanced functions

such as heart rate, cadence, wattage

and connectivity with your smart phone.

If you're looking to get out there and discover roads and paths,

then GPS devices with maps are right up your street.

Here too, the more you pay, the more functions are available.

MODERN VECTOR ART ILLUSTRATOR TUTORIAL | Satori Graphics - Duration: 7:02.

in today's illustrator tutorial we're going to make some simple modern

vector art so follow along and make your very own vector art in illustrator you

can move to the timestamp in the corner to skip the intro

what is our people welcome back to satori graphics the home of graphic

design content right here on YouTube I just want to give a quick thank you to

all of my subscribers and especially to those who constantly comment and

contribute to my content you guys in every UI I'm super pleased with the

growth of store graphics but I really want to know what you guys want to see

this modern folks our tutorial is fairly straightforward but the final outcome

looks pretty cool like a lot of modern art is not very difficult to achieve but

it can look pretty neat the first thing we need to do is select a gradient fill

in the color palette and then take the rectangle tool and add a rectangle

across your entire canvas in the gradient window adjust the direction to

minus 90 degrees and then set up a gradient from gray to very light gray by

the way I have two links in the description below for you guys

wonderful a vector pack that we're going to be using later than tutorial and

another link for a mock-up for displaying your modern-day tire

once you have the gradient background lucky in place so it doesn't move around

during the tutorial so like I said about the links in the description this is one

of them which you're going to need download as you can see we have multiple

select an individual stroke

Anthony Crolla: I'd welcome THIRD Jorge Linares title fight with open arms

Crolla, 30, put himself back in the world title picture after beating Ricky Burns via unanimous decision at the Manchester Arena on Saturday. This was a make-or-break fight for Crolla, who lost two consecutive WBA lightweight title bouts against arch rival Jorge Linares.

The Venezuelan came into Crolla's backyard and took the title off him over 12 rounds at the first time of asking and then expertly beat him over the distance again in his first defence of the crown. But despite these setbacks, Crolla is determined to get become world champion again and has admitted he would welcome a third fight with Linares with "open arms". .

"Jorge is a fantastic fighter as I found out over 24 rounds but you always want to fight the best and that is how I see him," Crolla told . "It is a fight that I will welcome with open arms.

"Without sounding cocky or anything, no other lightweight is going to fight in a bigger arena or bigger crowd [than the Manchester Arena] so I have got that going for me where I might get one of the champions happy to come over and fight at the Arena.

"I will sit down with Eddie and the rest of the team, probably in the next week or two, and will see what the plan of attack is.".

He also refused to rule out a rematch with Burns in Glasgow. "It is certainly a possibility," he said. "We will look forward to what makes the most business sense.

"Obviously the aim is to become a world champion again and whichever fight gets me into a position to fight for a world title, that is something I would do.".

Rafael Nadal triumphed in the China Open final on Sunday, dispatching Australian No 1 Nick Kyrgios in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. The Spaniard also beat Lucas Pouille, Karen Khachanov, John Isner and Grigor Dimitrov on his way to lifting the title.

The win has seen Nadal open up a 2,370 point lead at the top of the ATP rankings and comes after his US Open and inaugural Laver Cup triumphs.

And his great rival Roger Federer has admitted he was surprised to see Nadal competing in China, let alone winning the tournament.

"It's nice to see him keeping going," Federer said ahead of the Shanghai Masters first round. "This [the China Open] is a really big win for him.

"So for him to go to Beijing and win it right away… I expected him to pull out to be honest. "Why not? There is no reason for him to push it too hard, but that's Rafa.".

Federer will be hoping to close the gap in the ATP rankings on Nadal by lifting the Shanghai Masters this month.

Nadal gets his campaign up and running against American Jared Donaldson, while Federer has received a bye into the second round. The Swiss will take on either Argentine Diego Schwartzman or Australian Jordan Thompson.

Federer is currently in second place in the ATP rankings behind Nadal with Andy Murray sitting in third.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Hidden Features & Tips and Tricks | Part 2 - Duration: 5:22.

Hi guys, it's MTG here, and today I'm going to be going over some more Samsung Galaxy

Note 8 Tips and Tricks that you may not have known about.

Let's get right into it.

The first feature that I am going to talk about today is Bixby Quick Commands.

This feature will allow you to say one phrase to trigger multiple actions on your phone.

To set this feature up, go into Bixby, click the menu button, and go to My Bixby.

From here, scroll down to Quick Commands and click the box under it.

From this screen you'll be able to add all of the Bixby commands that you want to execute

from a single phrase.

In this instance, I will set a Bixby Quick Command for when I'm about to sleep.

I'll add a Bixby command to turn on Do Not Disturb.

I'll also add a command to turn the Blue Light Filter on.

Lastly, I will have Bixby tell me the weather for tomorrow.

But if you search this command, nothing will pop up.

But you can get around this by first asking Bixby the question: "What's the weather tomorrow?"

Then when you go to select a command, you can click, "select from history" and you'll

be able to choose that question that you just asked.

Now I will go back and click "Add quick command" to set the phrase that will initiate everything:

goodnight.

After I click save, the quick command will now be set.

So now I can activate Bixby and say, "Goodnight".

The next feature that I'm going to be talking about today involves the s-pen that lives

in the bottom right corner of your Note 8.

Quick Glance will allow you to have a little shortcut of whatever app you want to be available

to quickly glance at.

To glance back at the app, all you have to do is hover the s-pen over it, and lift the

s-pen up again to go back.

To activate this feature, you'll have to click the air command icon.

This feature may not be here by default.

So if it isn't, scroll to add shortcuts, and select glance.

Now when you want to create a shortcut that you can glance at, simply click the air command

icon and then glance.

You'll be able to move the shortcut to any corner of the screen, and when you're done

using it, you can just drag it up to the top.

The next set of hidden features are ways to activate the shutter button when taking a

selfie.

The first method is palm raise.

When your phone is on the front camera, you'll be able to hold your palm up by your face,

and a timer will begin.

This should help out when multiple people are in shot so everyone knows when the picture

is going to be taken, or when you want to stay perfectly still when shooting.

The next capture method is a heart rate sensor tap.

On the back of the Note 8, between the fingerprint scanner, and cameras, there is a heart rate

sensor.

You'll be able to tap this area to instantly capture a photo.

This feature should also help you take less shaky photos with the front camera.

Both of these features should be on by default, but if they aren't on for you, click the settings

icon and scroll down to shooting methods.

Here, you'll be able to toggle each on.

The Note 8 is a snappy phone, but there is a feature on all Android devices that will

instantly make your phone appear a lot faster.

To activate this feature, you'll have to turn on developer options.

To do this on your device, go to settings and scroll down to about phone.

From here, scroll down to Build Number and tap it six times.

Since I already have it activated, nothing will happen on my phone.

But once you complete this, there will now be developer options at the bottom of your

settings menu.

Clicking this, you'll be able to scroll down and find various settings regarding animation

scale.

For each of the animation options, you'll be able to set the animation speed to half

what it is now, or you'll be able to turn all of them off.

Once they are off, you'll notice the difference.

There will no longer be an animation when you open and close apps, and when you navigate

menus.

The Always on Display also has a cool hidden feature.

Like on the s8 and s8 plus, you can access media controls even when your screen is off.

If you're playing any sort of media, you'll be able to access the media controls by double

clicking the time and swiping either left or right.

From here, you'll be able to pause and play the media, and skip forward or back a song.

The last hidden feature that I'm going to be talking about today could prove to be very

useful because of just how big the Note 8's screen is.

Don't get me wrong, the Note 8 is my daily driver and I love it, but there are many times

where I am forced to use two hands when using it because there are certain menu buttons

that are impossible to reach otherwise.

But Samsung has implemented a feature that can shrink down the content of the screen

so that you can reach it all with one hand.

This feature works by sliding up from either corner of the phone.

From here, the entire screen will shrink down to just the corner that you gestured from.

You'll now be able to click menu buttons that were hard to reach, and you'll also still

be able to navigate through your phone as normal.

And to exit this mode, just tap anywhere outside of the screen.

To turn this feature on, go into settings, advanced features, and toggle on one-handed

mode.

If you click this, you'll be able to select whether you want to activate it by the gesture,

or tapping the home button 3 times.

So, today we are hiking from Tung Chung to Tai O in Hong Kong. Even in urban

destinations now people look for activities that they can do in nature.

Even in urban destinations they look for activities like hiking, kayaking and

other soft adventures. In fact, in Hong Kong it's probably one of the ways

to get out of the concrete jungle out of the skyscrapers: your IFC, your ICC,

your Bank of China building, the harbour city shopping area and crazy markets.

People want to come, tourists want to come and experience the nature as well.

And because of what the British colony government did in terms of designating a

lot of the land to be county parks hiking is a surprisingly

common activity amongst locals and tourists alike in Hong Kong. Yes, so about

40 percent of area of Hong Kong is actually designated as country parks

that are suitable for recreation and activities like hiking, but even in

country parks it's very difficult to get away from infrastructure development and

urbanization. Even here in the background you can see a big bridge being built.

This bridge is leading from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macao and is set to open in

2018, next year. So that's going to be another way that tourists can get quickly

around the Pearl River Delta visiting Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen and Zhuhai.

Another aspect here is that for us, travel professors, these hiking routes

allow for field trips. So, today we brought a group of students who study

Contemporary Issues in Tourism to do hiking and look at these various issues

in tourism in Hong Kong.
