I have a client who's been cutting hair for so long she actually knows Vidal Sassoon.

She's one of those folks who charges hundreds of dollars for a trim—even for men. And

she's looking to stop being in the haircut business.

It's not that she doesn't love what she does, or how much she makes doing it. It's because

for her the real cost of a haircut includes the amount of time she loses every time she

gives one.

In other words, even people who cut hair have to contend with internet-induced business

change.

And we're talking big business change here. Is my client concerned that even in her rich-person-and-celebrities-based

book of business the fact that Angie's List is the Internet's guide to a search for "cost

of a haircut"? Or that a haircut is supposed to cost so much less than hers do?

Actually, no. In this case—again, as in so many cases of Internet-driven business

change—she's realized that her future isn't in what she's good at, but in teaching others

the thing she does. Her cost of a haircut is that she can't afford to give one, not

even at her high prices!

The Cost of a Haircut

Recently, my client had a problem pricing an on-site class for a salon full of hair

cutting professionals. Her problem stemmed not from the prices of her services, but from

a "perception vs. reality" distortion field. Here's how that played out before we helped

her:

-I charge $400 per attendee for group workshops where one haircut gets done

-This client wants two haircuts, so if I charge $500 per person he's getting a bargain!

-He only wants to pay $300 per person; I don't understand why

Do you see the problem? Our hero thought she was reducing the peice of her work from $400

per haircut taught to $250, but her prospect saw a price of $500 per person for a day of

training—and he was paying (her!) for six people to be trained.

Perception is reality.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but other times the cost of a haircut has nothing to

do with "the cost of a haircut". How'd we solve this? My client established a "day rate"

for her time. Now, she makes $2,000 per day and her multiple-trainee clients are happy

to pay it. Win/Win. And simple, too.

I think it's important to always be one step ahead of everyone else.

I think any small percentage that is going to help.

Obviously, the older you get, the more you want to look after yourself.

The game physically, the intensity each year is just improving because of the young

talent coming through and it's tougher competition.

You want to make sure you're fit and ready to go.

Not for me.

I'm someone that isn't too bothered about anyone else.

I just focus on myself.

I think, as a player, you normally just do the things right.

You do everything right and things fall into place.

I tend to have my daily week planned out.

When it comes to match day, I know I've done everything right.

I know I haven't cut any corners or anything like that.

Then the performance can look after itself.

There is some competition when players put up stuff.

You'll see a player try and do something or you'll see a coach take one of your drills

- but it's cool.

It's all fun and games.

When I did my cruciate, at the time I got introduced to a sprint coach.

I felt that was the main thing I had to do.

Straight away, I'm not going to be a long distance runner, but I wanted to make sure

that I always had that burst of energy and speed because obviously, that's my complete

game.

There is drills, like what you saw earlier with the ladder, that's the main stuff.

But even reaction stuff with the cones, that's another side of it.

When you don't know where you're going to go.

And when it comes to the games, it just happens for you.

There's all sorts of techniques that you get in sprinters.

When I was younger, I tried to do 100 metres and enter into the county level but their

technique was so much better than mine.

Mine was all over the place, mine was like a footballer, like the way I move on the pitch:

it wasn't straight.

I never really got the chance to work on that but who knows if I did, where I would be now.

There's loads of drills but I would mainly say the ladder work and the reaction work

from cones.

As I say, I'm the sort of person who is doing a lot of work outside of it as well.

So, I know I can look after myself and recover well from ice baths and cryotherapy chambers.

I don't really tend to have aching legs.

I've got the game ready machines which look after yourself as well, compression, stretching and yoga.

So there's loads of things I can do which will benefit me the longer I go on in football.

1 How I Listen to Classical Music; Liszt Wagner Tannhauser Overture Yulianna Avdeeva - Duration: 8:42.

When I first heard this, I was like, "A piano transcription of WAGNER? His music is so orchestral, it's impossible!" But then I really liked it, and only years later did I learn that it was written by Liszt.

So the reason this piano Wagner sounds so good is because Liszt was a genius but also because he and Wagner were total bros who understood each others' music vision XD

So if you don't know, Tannhäuser is about a guy torn between temptation and holiness. He's trapped with Venus in a cave of debauchery but some part of him still yearns for his old life and the fresh air. In the overture, the song of some passing pilgrims (Pilgerchor) is contrasted with the music of the Venusberg.

This is the plain tune.

Tannhäuser is not my favorite opera really but the pilgrim chorus is surely one of Wagner's most beautiful melodies.

The pilgrims seem to pass by and then recede.

I think the transition here is smoother than the Wagner version.

This is the music of the Venusberg basically a NON STOP PARTY CAVE.

It's amazing how Liszt managed to capture that shimmery whirling sound of those violins.

In Wagner this part builds up to a burst of sensuality but Lizst creates intensity with runs.

so fun!!!

Liszt says, "The voices of Tannhauser and Venus rise above this hissing foaming yeast of waves"

in Wagner this part is done by a very sickly sweet violin and the piano just can't compare

The struggle of Tannhäuser trying to resist Venus maybe? It's been a while since I listened to the whole opera.

How To Roast Pumpkin Seeds to Get The Best Flavor – Simple and Easy Keto Snack - Duration: 3:09.

Welcome all! Papa G here. Today I present - how to roast pumpkin seeds. If you're

thinking of carving a Pumpkin this fall, don't throw away those seeds.

Roasted pumpkin seeds make a wonderful low carbohydrate snack and they have some great

nutrients to go along with it. I'll show you how I do mine; so let's get started.

We'll obviously need a large pumpkin. Open the top to get to the seeds. I find the

easiest way to remove the seeds is just to use your hands. The seeds come out

very easy and with very little effort. Once all the seeds have been removed,

we're going to rinse and clean them. Place the seeds in a colander and rinse

under running water. Use your hands to agitate and remove any pumpkin that may

still be attached. After cleaning the seeds, they need to dry completely to be

able to better absorb our flavoring we'll be using. You can use one of two

methods to dry the pumpkin seeds. First, you can spread them out on a baking

sheet and let them air-dry on their own. This method takes at least 24 hours and

I don't usually have the patience for that, so I prefer the second method -

a simple hairdryer. Just pour the seeds in a large bowl and use the hairdryer to

dry your seeds. This method dries the seeds in about 7 to 10 minutes. You'll

notice the seeds will have different textures as they dry. First, they'll feel

slimy. Next, they'll feel very sticky. And finally, you'll know they're dry when

they're very smooth. For our flavoring we'll use 1 tablespoon of melted butter.

Pour it over the seeds and mix to coat. Now add your spice mix. For me, I'm using

Tony Chachere's. My favorite Creole seasoning mix; but you can use any Cajun

or other spice blend you prefer. Just be sure it has salt in it.

Pour the seeds on a baking sheet and flatten to ensure they don't overlap.

place them in the middle of a preheated 350°F oven for about 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and give a mix with a spatula to turn. Place the seeds back

in the oven for at least 10 to 12 minutes, or longer if you prefer them a

little crispier. Place them in a bowl to enjoy. Your only regret with this recipe

will be is that you didn't make more. There you have it folks!
