I don't know if you also keep your tails,

like I do,

to recycle them in other projects.

For exemple, you can use them as stuff

for your amigurumi.

If so, you may not know where to keep them.

So in today's video I'm showing you

how to make a "tails-eater"

with a pumpkin pincushion

for Halloween!

Materials you'll need:

Cotton yarn for a 3.5 mm hook,

3 mm hook,

scissors,

polyfill stuff,

yarn needle,

12 mm safety eyes,

embroidery thread

and a bottle.

Let's begin!

PUMPKIN TAILS-EATER

Ok, we're beginning.

**It will be so funny!**

As always, we're making:

R1: MR (6)

R2: *INC* x6 (12)

We're making the increases

as we always do

until R7 with 42 stitches.

So,

R3: *1 sc, INC* x6 (18)

R4: *2 sc, INC* x6 (24)

R5: *3 sc, INC* x6 (30)

R6: *4 sc, INC* x6 (36)

And finally,

R7: *5 sc, INC* x6 (42)

Next,

we're making 7 rounds without increases.

R8-R14: 42 sc

Next,

we're making rounds with decreases

to close the ball.

So,

R15: *5 sc, DEC* x6 (36)

R16: *4 sc, DEC* x6 (30)

with green yarn.

The BEST Advice for Learning English (MAKE MISTAKES!) - Duration: 9:17.

Today we are going to give you some of

the best advice when it comes to learning English.

Before we begin, we'd like to remind you to please

subscribe to our channel for more lessons

on how to practice and improve your English.

So today's advice is very, very, very important.

And this will help you immensely in learning English.

And it's something that is much easier said than done,

but it is an inescapable fact.

So the best advice that we can give you is

don't worry about making mistakes.

We make mistakes all the time.

It's true

When it comes to making mistakes,

you just need to accept it as a fact of life.

It's going to happen and that is okay.

One of our favorite quotes is one by Albert Einstein.

And he said, "A person who never makes mistakes never tried anything new."

Very true.

So the point is if you don't try something new,

if you don't make the mistake, then you're never going to learn from them.

And you can never improve.

So when we started filming these videos

we just kept making mistake, after mistake, after mistake.

And we're still making mistakes today.

If you're making a lot of mistakes, then that really just means

that you are trying really hard.

Which means that in the future you can correct those mistakes and make fewer.

Another great quote is, "The expert at anything was once a beginner."

And this is true because in order to become an expert

you have to start somewhere, which is at the beginning.

And at the beginning you're going to be making a lot of mistakes

and you learn, and you get better and better.

And then you become an expert, and then you'll be

able to help others correct their mistakes and improve.

Another piece of advice is don't feel bad

and learn to laugh at your mistakes.

We try to.

One funny story about making a mistake is

when I was teaching at a university in Korea.

We were having a class discussion and

one of the students was talking about a famous

musical group called the Wonder Girls.

And they had just had this hit song,

and the chorus of the song is, "Nobody, nobody but you."

I want nobody, nobody but you.

But the student thought that they were saying,

"Nobody, nobody wants you."

Which is kind of completely the opposite message.

And everybody kind of had a good laugh about it.

He was interested to learn the correct words

that were being said in the song.

And afterwards I told him, "You know, it's okay. It's an innocent mistake."

And music is a great way to learn English

and especially for listening and trying to identify

the exact words that people are saying in the song.

One experience that I have with music

is I've been learning Spanish for quite a while

and there is a famous bachata singer, Romeo Santos.

And he has a song where he says, "Llévame contigo," which is take me with you.

Llévame contigo, que no aguanto la aflicción.

Llévame contigo, no seas malita y no no.

And, for some reason, I thought he was saying like,

"No hable conmigo," which is don't talk to me.

I remember when I told people that...like, yeah

everybody thought it was pretty funny.

And now that I think about it, yeah it is pretty funny.

Take me with you. Don't talk to me.

Now I know and when I sing along to the song

I can say it correctly.

Can you sing the song for us?

I thought he was saying, "No hable conmigo."

Llévame contigo, que no aguanto la aflicción.

"No hable conmigo."

Llévame contigo, no seas malita y no no.

My listening is not the best.

I think your singing is not the best.

Yeah, my singing is even worse.

I also had a very public mistake.

And this was again after years of learning English.

In fact, it was in university in a big public classroom.

I think there were about maybe 40 people.

It was a literature class and at the very end

we were reading a story where this character

at the very end of the story kicked the bucket.

We kept talking about different kinds of symbolism

throughout the story, and then I ended up

raising my hand in front of everyone and

said, "I don't understand. Why did he kick the bucket at the end. Like why...?"

It just didn't make sense. Why was there a bucket?

Why was he kicking it? What does this mean?

And the teacher just told me, "Oh, well in English to kick the bucket means to die."

Guess who just kicked the bucket.

And then it makes sense.

So again, this is very public, but let me tell you something.

I will never forget what kick the bucket means.

Finally, you should use mistakes as a learning opportunity.

And don't shy away from them when you make a mistake.

Really try to ask questions and understand

what the mistake is so that you can correct it.

And if you don't have anyone to correct your mistakes,

that's okay as long as you keep exposing yourself

to correct English, which would be through music,

and reading, watching TV, and movies.

You will start to internalize that information

and correct those mistakes automatically

when you start producing the language in speaking and writing.

Yeah, at some point things will just sound wrong to you.

And you say, "Okay, this just doesn't sound right. I'm not going to say it anymore."

And then you realize, "Oh, I've corrected myself."

So remember it is okay to make mistakes.

for designing typography from scratch rather they help you with editing and

good look at at the end of the video the appearance panel is one of the top

illustrator tools for typography because we allows you to add as many strokes g1

to typography resulting in some really cool designs if you go ahead and open up

the appearance panel here I with your typography selected add a new fill and

then add a new stroke making sure the stroke layer is below the fill layer

I'm going to make a wave fill in a black stroke and you will see how this strokes

is nicely behind the fill which you only get with the appearance panel if you

have anomalies like this occur simply open up the stroke window and change the

style of the stroke like I'm going to do here

like I said this too is great typography you can add multiple

different strokes and typography styles anyway only the appearance panel can do

the Pathfinder tool is great for cutting areas for typography out and the eraser

tool is very annoying and it's not very accurate to use and so the using the

Pathfinder tool is the best option in my opinion on my custom hand lettering

typography here I want to cut out a part of the type for style purposes use the

pen tool to draw a line over the area that you wish to cut out PETA biography

and then hold down shift and select both the letter as well as a shape

open the Pathfinder tool and then use the - for an option you can edit the

path three typography in Illustrator with direct selection tool

across your entire typography lettering in Illustrator and you see that looks

pretty cool we can change the gradient to read your gradient and then use the

gradient tool from the center outwards

if you want you can then revert it along a slider bar to make the darkest color

on the outside

typography in illustrator is the warp tool you can find them up in the effects

panel in Illustrator and there are so many to choose from

experiment and browse through them on the different effects that you can make

Here I used to hike, and here I used to film

Now the forest is gone. Cut down by the machines.

Stacked in piles and hauled away,

like a commodity, a dead thing.

Now here is empty and desolate.

Here is no shelter, no safe place to cuddle.

I, like the forest birds, must seek new places.

This is the Swedish forest,

the Swedish forest industry

- clear cuts, damages, dikes and roads.

It looks only to its own needs,

values only what can be measured and weighed,

Greed is a characteristic that nature never will be able to defend against.

Mostly I wonder what they will harvest and sell

Gender Identity: Why All the Confusion? - Duration: 4:49.

It's now okay for a man to hit a woman.

That, in effect, is what the a mixed martial arts league decided when it allowed Fallon Fox,

a biological male, to fight as a woman simply because he identifies as one.

And the consequence of this decision?

Fox sent female fighter Tamikka Brents to the hospital with a broken skull and a concussion.

Brents needed seven surgical staples to bind her wounds.

The battered woman, a trained fighter herself, said of her match with Fox,

"I've never felt so overpowered in my life."

Twenty years ago, if a man hit a woman so hard that he sent her to the hospital,

he'd be in prison.

Now he can get paid for it.

Today we are told that male and female are one and the same.

This denial of male-female differences has led to the astonishing belief that men and

women are not born male or female; they are whatever gender they say they are.

Facebook went so far as to offer its users over 50 genders to choose from.

Know what a "demi-boy" is?

Me, neither.

The idea that gender-identification is now a personal choice might sound enlightened

to some, but it's actually a very anti-scientific view of one of the essential facts of life:

men and women are inherently different.

Their brains are different, their hormones are different, their chromosomes are different,

and, of course, their bodies are different.

No amount of peer-reviewed papers from gender studies departments can change this.

But that won't stop the progressive elites who run our universities, news media,

many of our biggest companies, and even our high schools and elementary schools from trying.

For their efforts, women will pay an especially high price.

That's because the men-and-women-are-the-same argument invariably leads women to be judged

against a male standard.

Or, to put it another way, to be more of a woman, a woman has to be more like a man.

She has to want to have casual sex like a man; to serve in combat like a man; to pursue

a career with single-minded intensity like a man.

Of course, there are exceptions, but the overwhelming majority of women aren't seeking casual sex;

don't have the physical strength of men; and don't share the same work-life

priorities as men.

Ironically, this quest for sameness is occurring at a time when science is telling us,

more emphatically than ever, that we are different.

So, what your grandmother took for granted – men and women are different –

science now confirms.

But there is no room for science in, say, stores like Target or Toys R Us, where toys

are no longer divided into the boy section and the girl section.

Or in a North Carolina school district, where students can no longer be called

"boys and girls" but only "students."

Or in college dorms, where co-ed bathrooms and even co-ed bedrooms are increasingly common.

For the tiny percentage of people who experience gender dysphoria,

we should have nothing but compassion.

We should do everything we can to help them and protect their dignity, but we don't

need to overturn biologically defined sex differences to do so.

But that's what's happening.

Using the wrong pronoun at the office might get you fired.

In Canada, it might land you in court.

In mixed martial arts, as we have seen, it can lead to getting your head bashed in.

Apparently, this is a small price to pay in a world where we must all

genuflect to political correctness.

Even after being hospitalized, Tamikka Brents knew she had to toe the PC line.

When asked how she explained why she lost so badly to a man who said he was a woman,

she said: "I can't answer whether it's because she was born a man or not,

because I'm not a doctor."

Vice Magazine, writing about the incident, had no sympathy for Brents.

Why should they?

As they wrote, "…biological sex isn't black and white."

But in virtually every instance, it is.

The longer we allow the obvious to go unstated and undefended, the worse it will be

– for boys and girls, and for men and women.

But especially for women.

The sexes are different.

Rather than trying to quash this reality, which can only lead to more needless confusion

and suffering, not less, we should step back and marvel at it.

And enjoy it.

Male-female differences are among the most wonderful things in life.
