Deciphering Secrets MOOCs: Welcome to the Museo de Santa Cruz (Toledo, Spain) - Duration: 7:46.

Well, hello. How are you?

I'm Fernando Fontes.

I'm a museum conservator,

archaeologist, and, well, since

almost a year ago, I'm the Director of the Santa Cruz de Toledo Museum.

Welcome!

The Santa Cruz de Toledo Museum is

an institution with a long history

which has its origins in the 19th century,

with the recovery

of all the artwork

originating from the Expropriation

and coming from the

different collections...

groups of collections

that the pioneers in artwork recovery did

along with archaeological objects.

All of them came to form part of the provincial museum

and the provincial museum had different centers.

One was in San Juan de los Reyes.

It had locations in other towns in Toledo.

until

at the beginning of (the 19th) century

they decided this would be the actual headquarters.

Right now,

we're in part of a large museum complex,

principally formed of the Santa Cruz Hospital,

founded by Cardinal Mendoza

in the middle of the 15th century

beginning construction after his death

at the beginning of the 16th century

such as Anton and Enrique Egas

and it's one of the most important

Renaissance buildings of its kind,

especially because it's...

... it has an Isabelline architecture

and it shines in that it's the first plateresque.

It's an imposing architecture, a model of a hospital,

a hospice, a charitable work,

but, furthermore, it also shows off Ecclesiastical power in its totality.

And, my predecessors

saw it could be the ideal place to exhibit

all of Toledo's artistic treasures.

However, the Santa Cruz Museum is not just that.

The Santa Cruz Museum also has

inside what is the museum complex

other very interesting buildings like the one we're in right now,

which is the Santa Fe Convent,

which is built over

the palace area, the Islamic alficén

and, in turn

over the remains of Visigoth palaces.

Actually, in this place, it was where

we suppose the ruling Taifas' residences were.

And, it's up against the old wall, the Islamic alficén

that protected all of this area

all the way to the Toledo alcázar.

Over it,

during the Toledo Reconquest

by Alfonse VI in 1085,

they built different palace residences

over it.

And here the Christian kings of Toledo lived...

the first Christian Kinds of Toledo.

And, furthermore, Alfonse VIII

ceded this space

to a priory, the priory of the (knights of) Calatrava in the 13th century

where they built a series of constructions,

of which only the apse is preserved. It's a marvel!

A 12th-century church.

Then, in the 14th century,

this was the place where

the Order of Santiago was established.

and...

they modernized the entire building and

they did a series of activities,

so attractive,

like the sword we have in the adjoining room.

The most interesting

about all of this complex is that

a succession of all the

great Medieval periods in Toledo,

and from the High Middle Ages to the Low Middle Ages.

And, furthermore, remains have been discovered

that are unique in their Andalusi origin

like the one we have behind us which

are arches from the time of the Caliphate,

unique in their genre,

that also iconographically summarize

a large part of what is the

Islamic iconographic tradition

from the early years.

Anyway, they'll tell you about this

in detail later.

What's very clear is that

Santa Cruz's treasure holds more treasures

so many from the architectural point of view

as well as from the point of view of its contents.

And, especially, for the Medieval period, we are one of the most important museums

in Spain, and also in Europe,

in its category, conserving unique collections

like Islamic and Mudejar carpentry.

The main idea is

and the work we're doing

is to show the importance of these collections,

the ones we have here in the Santa Cruz Museum as well as in other buildings

that are also this museum's affiliates

like the San Román Church that holds the religious councils' and Visigoth's artifacts

or the Moorish Workshop, which we are turning into a museum

which we will be putting on exhibit in practically a few days

as they say

we are going to open this marvellous 16th-century palace to the public

which is a unique example of its category.

And, well, there nothing more to say,

except to give you a very warm welcome

and invite you to get to know this magnificent patrimony.

Deciphering Secrets MOOCs: Islamic al-Andalus: The Umayyad Dynasty (756 – 1061 CE) - Duration: 7:51.

The most consequential Islamic state inside medieval Iberia

was that of the Umayyads. And their story is a bit complicated,

because it begins all the way back in Damascus, Syria.

In 661, Muawiya, of the Umayyad

clan, originally from Mecca, established this first Caliphate,

a religious and political entity to cover all of the Islamic lands.

It was under the aegis, of the Umayads, that Spain would come into

the orbit of Islamic civilization. As we remember,

Spain was conquered by the Muslims in 711 CE,

and roughly within ten years, most of the Peninsula was dominated

by their political leadership. However, in 750, momentous

events transformed the Islamic world, when the Abbasids violently

overthrew the Umayyad Caliphate with the massacre of the elite ruling

family. The consequence of this affair was the creation

of a new Umayyad dynasty. But this time, in Spain

and in the city of Cordoba one surviving Umayya prince,

Abd al-Rahman I, would take the title of Emir

or Commander of the Faithful, and established a new Emirate

in Spain. And from this Emirate, slowly would evolve

the most consequential of the Spanish Islamic kingdoms.

It would become known as the Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba,

which would rule from 929 to 1061 CE.

This is what we all refer to as the Golden Age of Islamic

Spain. And in many respects it was a Golden Age

for the Jewish community of Spain. In 929

Abd al-Rahman III declared Al Andalus to

be its own politically and religiously autonomous entity.

The positive forces of the coexistence (or convivencia) in Islamic

Al Andalus, is first observed in the 10th century

under his rule. Abd al-Rahman III, like his father before

him, pursued an ethnically and religiously inclusive policy

dedicated to the pacification and unification of Al Andalus.

He showered support on arts and sciences, and sparked a general

cultural efflorescence. In addition,

he encouraged minorities to pursue their own intellectual interests

providing them with a model of how to proceed.

The German nun, Roswitha, who visited the city of Cordoba in

the second half of the 10th century, would call the city

the Ornament of the World, because of its incredible arts,

sciences, architecture, libraries and mixtures of people.

And for the Jewish community, Cordoba and the Caliphate

was a particularly welcoming and vital place to be

during the Middle Ages. Specifically, Professor Jane Gerber,

coauthor of The Jews of Spain, describes it in this way:

"The Muslim provinces of Andalusia reached the scene after its

power in the 10h century, under the able and unusually long

and stable rule of Abd al-Rahman III.

As an imperial city, Córdoba reached zenith, empower and affluence

in the mid 10th century. And talents from all over the Muslim world

streamed into the new capital. The new incomers include Jewish

poets and scholars from North Africa, Italy

and the Far East. One of those persons who was invited

to the court was the physician Hasdai ibn Shaprut,

who lived from roughly 915 to 970.

he patronized the Jewish literati and followed the time honored pattern of

patronage of culture customarily exercised by Muslim courtiers.

Hasdai also set up a school of Talmudic learning in Cordoba.

Enterprising Jewish parents who would bring their talented sons

to Cordoba, to take advantage of the new opportunities to

attain a "modern education"

in the capital, also hoping that their sons might succeed and find an

employment at the Muslim Imperial Court.

Jewish facility in Arabic also need them to gain access to

a vast world of thought, embodying the ancient classics,

which had recently been translated into Arabic.

Direct exposure to learning and science and philosophy provided

a powerful impetus to the expansion of Jewish knowledge,

and before long, the Jews of Spain excelled and surpassed

other important Jewish centers. Professor Garber concludes with

this observation: "Perhaps, the best way to appreciate the stimulation

that Jews experienced from their cultural surroundings

in Al Andalus is to glance at the surviving curriculum of a Jewish

academy of learning in 12th century Toledo,

that was based upon the medieval Arab model. The Jewish school of

the standard fare or Judaic, Hebrew language, Torah and Talmud,

a graded course of study in philosophical observations on religion,

logic, mathematics, optics, astronomy, astrology,

music, mechanics, metaphysics, Greek and Arabic,

as well as Medicine. Special emphasis was placed in fine calligraphy,

the model for the educated Jewish male was on the Muslim "adib",

a man of humanistic culture. This was Islamic Spain at its best,

a place where many communities could cohabit together

and work together. The splendor of the Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba

was not to survive, and by 1031 it had reached the end.

What came next was the success at the Spanish Christian

Reconquista, internal political fragmentation within the Islamic community

and North African intervention by the Almoravids.

अक्सर सफ़र करने वाले लोगों के लिए डाइट टिप्स | HEALTHY DIET TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS BY PRITI NATH GURU | - Duration: 5:34.

Hello everyone, My name is Priti Nath Guru

Today I've brought some health tips for people who do frequent travelling

In result they have to face some health issues like Weight Gain, Diabetes, BP & problem of Joints Pain

So let's discuss those problem which occurs because of frequent travelling

Either its long or short distance, the schedule of your food & patter of exercises got disturb due to travelling

Although these problems happens but try to follow your diet & exercise pattern as much as you can

As much as you'll try to deviate it, it will be beneficial for you

To keep a check on this, start maintaining a diary where you can mention your daily activities

Where you'll mention that throughout the day what all you've taken

So that you'll be able to know, where you've deviate and if you are checking your weight daily

Then what are those things behind your weight gain

So here you can switch to some healthy food

If you are travelling for short distance then I would suggest you to get your lunch/dinner packed by home

So that you can have healthy food outside

If you are travelling for long distance and you have to stay in any hotel

First of all you should avoid their welcome drink or any kind of sugary foods

Generally fruits served in hotels are dipped in sugar so it would be better if you order & have fresh fruits instead

Don't allow anyone to lead while ordering food yourself as in this way you can order as per your requirement

If you are in India, there are several food items which are easily available in any part of India

For example - Rava Idli, Dhokla, Plain Rava Dosa, Roti

Tandoori Roti, Naan. Keep your preference in sequence

If you get Roti easily otherwise can go for Tandoori Roti otherwise can go for Plain Naan

Or Missi roti, so this way notice on your preferences

Try to take as much as vegetable you can and avoid the gravy part

If you are an vegetarian you have option for Cottage Cheese, Pulses/lentils & Sprouts

If you are an non-vegetarian, you can take either Chicken or Fish

If you are travelling overseas, then you can take sea food

Make sure that whatever non-veg food item you are taking that should be grilled

It shouldn't be deep fried or marinated as well, so this way you can order your food

Try to have breakfast, but if you are in overseas & unable to find Roti etc then you can take breads

Avoid garlic bread and go for brown bread

Because a slice of plain or brown bread contains 70-80 calories

Whereas a garlic bread contains 130 -140 calories

Which is just double of plain bread even after being smaller in size

So try to take brown bread

You can take fresh fruits

As I have given option so take such meal in the afternoon

Try to avoid the dinner, because if you are taking heavy food twice a time

And in dinner you can prefer clear vegetable soups or chicken soups

Fruits and soups should be the option for dinner however you can take proper breakfast & lunch

Secondly due to travelling your exercise patters get disturb

So whenever you get the chance, even if you are travelling by car and in between taking break

Then you can do walk for sometime

If you are travelling by plane and if when you are getting chance on airport you can do walk

If you don't have space available for walking then you can do some activities like deep breathing

Or you can keep moving your hands and feet so that there will be no stiffness

And with deep breathing you will some calories as well

Also you must take some fluids like:- Water, Lemon Water.

In India you'll easily get Butter Milk, Sweet Butter Milk

But here also you have avoid full cream based Butter milk or such products

So you have to keep a little check on this, that what kind of food items you should take

With which you can maintain your weight

When you'll start maintaining your diet dairy and you'll start watching your activity schedule

Also when you'll check your weight regularly then you'll be able to find out the harmful food items

And accordingly you'll be able to do correction in it

I hope the tips I've shared will be beneficial for you

At least you'll be able to maintain your weight even if you are not able to reduce it

Please do like and share my videos & do subscribe my channel. Thank you...

Twelfth Night, part I. - Duration: 50:13.

Hello. This is Professor Melissa Aaron, and I'd like to welcome you again

to Shakespeare online. Today we're going to start the comedy Twelfth Night

The very title of the play refers to a holiday. You probably know

the song "On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me" and all of that.

Christmas in Elizabethan times was really a season, not so much an

individual holiday, and the twelfth day of Christmas was celebrated by crowning

a king, by lords of misrule; it was usually given over to a temporary

suspension of order for the day, usually celebrating with cakes and ale,

as Sir Toby mentions, and also it began the beginning of the Carnival season

which would go straight up to what we would think of as Mardi Gras. Their term

for it was Shrove Tuesday, the day that immediately precedes Ash Wednesday. So

this is a holiday play. It's a play that emphasizes a temporary suspension of

order and disorder, and it's also a winter play, and that gives a certain

tone to it. It's always helpful in comedy to keep a kind of scorecard of the

characters in the households. This is a leftover from Roman comedy where a lot

of the action took place in the street in front of one or two houses. So

sometimes what you can do is divide the characters into two different households,

as in this play, and also from you know side to side and then from top to bottom

belonging to different plots; so there is a sort of lover's plot and then

there's a sort of clown's plot; and these people tend to cluster together so you

don't have to keep track of a zillion different characters. You have to keep

track of just what group of people they belong to. In this play, the two

households are Orsino's household and Olivia's household, and in Orsino's

household there is Orsino, his servants, and Viola for a

time in any case. In Olivia's household, there is Olivia, there is her

lady-in-waiting Maria, there is her drunken uncle Sir Toby and Sir Andrew

Aguechee,k and then there is the clown Feste who

floats back and forth between both households. Being a fool, he sort of is

outside of society. And of course, also in Olivia's household, is the steward

Malvolio. So we have those two different households. In terms of different plots, we

have Orsino, Olivia, Sebastian, and Viola belonging to the high plot or the lovers

plot, and the clown plot is pretty much Maria, Sir Toby, Sir Andrew and Malvolio.

So if you can keep those divided into what amounts to a little pie for it

with four quarters, that really helps a lot. Now I mentioned that this is a

leftover from Roman comedy. This play does have a lot in common with Roman

comedy. it's roughly based on a play called The Brothers

Menechmi by Plautus, which has a set of twins and a lot of confusion.

There's another Shakespeare play which is entirely based on The Menechmi, and

that is The Comedy of Errors. There are certain stock characters from Roman

comedy who appear in this play there are lovers, there are characters that

are clowns, there are clever servants, there are bold captains who are

pretty much all mouth and no action. And then those characters carried over into

the Italian comedy, commedia dell'arte. This play is more closely related to an

Italian romance called Apollonius and Sylla in which there is a twin-- a set of

twins--and one of them is a girl who has to disguise herself as a boy temporarily,

so that is the source of these of this play. One of the things you're going

to discover is that a lot of people are in love in this play, and in the

Renaissance, you not fall in love with your heart. You

fall in love with your liver. That sounds very strange. I mean you can imagine how

how well Valentine's Day would do if you sent little liver shaped cards to each

other, but the liver is the seat of passion. There are various different

humors that your body is constructed of. The Renaissance attitude of medicine is

that there are four humors. They're roughly fluids that belong to your body.

And the four humors are choleric, sanguine, melancholic, and phlegmatic. Each

of these corresponds to a fluid. Choleric corresponds to gall or yellow bile. It

is emitted by the gallbladder, and it makes you hot and peppery tempered.

Sanguine corresponds to blood, and it tends to make you warm and fuzzy and

extremely fond of eating and drinking. Melancholy, which comes from black bile

from the liver, is something that if it's good, it makes you poetic. It

can be brought on by too much reading, or too much being in love, or just be a

personality trait. When we see Hamlet, we'll see a character who has taken

melancholy to an extreme. And then there's the phlegmatic temperament and

that is based on the fluid phlegm, which is our polite word for it. And mostly

Shakespeare doesn't write a lot of characters who are phlegmatic characters

because they're pretty dull. Phlegmatic characters don't do much of anything

so one of the characters in this play suffers intensely from love

melancholy. That is the Duke Orsino, and part of this play involves his cure.

Major themes to look for in this play: Fate and Chance. A lot of the characters

refer again and again to chance. To time, the workings out of time, and another

major theme is the sea. Romances and comedies very often begin with a

shipwreck. Shipwrecks are very convenient for scrambling a lot of characters who

wouldn't ordinarily come into contact with each

other, and then they do get a chance to come into contact with each other. Again,

it's a suspension of the ordinary order of things, and in this particular case

the metaphor of the sea is something that's hungry, something that's devouring,

and also--some of you may be surfers, and you know that when you get caught by

a large wave the most sensible thing to do is to roll with it, to go with the

flow. And in this particular play the characters that go with the flow the

most are the ones who do the best. The most rigid characters are the ones who

have the hardest time, one of the most fluid characters being Viola and one of

the most rigid characters being Malvolio the steward. So just keep an eye out for

those different themes: fate and chance, I'm going with the flow and the sea, and

also melancholy. There's a lot of music in this play. You aren't going to get to

hear me sing very much of it, but we've got little clips of it on the webpage

for you. Now this play has a very different opening from Richard III.

Remember we opened up Richard III with Richard just confiding in us and

that being a very direct, very theatrical opening. This play begins with music. It

begins with the Duke listening to the music and his state of love melancholy

which makes him changeable, and also that he is obsessed. He really he has got a

thing for the Countess Olivia. He's in love with Olivia and Olivia is not

interested in him, and he has not really reached the point where he's willing to

accept that. He interprets everything the way he wants to.

So as the music begins, you hear Orsino begin with this very intensely poetic

opening: "if music be the food of love play on/ Give me excess of it, that

surfeiting/ The appetite may sicken, and so die. /That's strain again;

it had a dying fall. / Oh, it came o'er my ear like a sweet strain that breathes upon

a bank of violets, stealing and giving odor. Enough, no more! 'tis not so sweet

now as it was before." So he's he's only interested in music for a moment, and

then he wants to cut it off, and he's sort of proud of this; that this is his

mood. One of his servants tries to distract him by suggesting that he go

hunt, and when he says what shall we hunt he says "the hart," and the "hart" is a

deer, but of course what Orsino then is to make a horrible pun on

"hart" and "heart": "why so I do, the noblest that I have. O, when mine eyes did see

Olivia first, methought she purged the air of pestilence. That instant was I

turned into a hart, when my desires like fell and cruel hounds ere since pursue

me. That's a reference to the myth of Acteon. He was a hunter who made the

mistake of spying on the goddess Diana when she was bathing, she had him turned

into a stag, and his hounds followed him and ripped him apart. That became a

metaphor for being ripped apart by your own desires, but you'll also notice that

Orsino cannot not think of Olivia. And you always want to sympathize with his

servants, who have been listening to this for heaven alone knows how long.

Valentine comes in, and he's given the message that Olivia is not interested, or

rather that she intends to be busy for the next seven years. Her brother has

just died, and she's going to be in mourning for that long. "The element

itself till seven years heat shall not behold her face at ample view, but like a

cloistress she will veiled walk and water once a day her chamber round with eye

offending brine. All this to season a brother's dead love, which she would keep

fresh and lasting in her sad remembrance." Now normally, a person would give up at

that point. "I intend to be busy for the next seven years," and it would be "well,

what what's your sister doing then?" Orsino, on

the other hand, just interprets this to mean what he wants.

"O, she that hath a heart of that fine frame to pay this debt of love but to a

brother, how will she love when the rich golden shaft have killed the flock of

all affections else" In other words, "Boy, if she can love a

brother this much, just imagine how much she'll love me!" So he still continues to

send her various different flowers and candygrams. He's not accepting

her "no" as a "no." This is a state of stalemate, where Orsino will not stop

pursuing and Olivia will not respond. And into this stalemate comes something that

will break it, and that is Viola. Viola begins. She is the twin sister of

Sebastian. They look entirely alike. That is naturally of course almost impossible,

because they would be fraternal twins, and you know the idea of fraternal twins

that look exactly alike is very unlikely, but we have to have it for this play.

They have been shipwrecked; they have been separated; and she has been washed

up on the seashore of Illyria. Now Illyria is pretty much where the former

Yugoslavia is.The thing is that it doesn't really matter. This particular

story is set almost in a never-neverland. There's very little about it that is

specifically Illyrian. Viola begins not even knowing what country this is, and

all she has is the hope that perhaps. "What

country, friends, is this?" "This is Illyria, lady." "And what should I

do in Illyria? My brother, he is in Elysium. Perchance he is not drowned. What

think you, sailor?" It is perchance that you yourself were

saved." "Oh my poor brother! and so perchance may

he be." "True, madam, and to comfort you with chance, assure yourself, after our

ship did split, when you and those poor number saved with you, hung on our

driving boat, I saw your brother, most provident in

peril, bind himself, courage and hope both teaching him the practice, to a strong

mast that lived upon the sea; where like Arion on the Dolphin's back, I saw him

hold acquaintance with the waves, so long as I could see." And so she says perchance

he is not drowned. Maybe he is not drowned. And the captain says, "well you

were saved by chance, and so perchance he might be saved, and to comfort her with

chance, that the last time the captain saw Sebastian, he seemed to be alive. so

That is a hope at this point. Viola is interestingly enough in the exact same

social position as Olivia They're both two young women who are without fathers and without brothers in a culture that depends very

much upon women being dependent upon men. and they, at least she, has been

completely stripped of money, of social standing, of any kind of acquaintance, and

she has been left pretty much bereft on the sea shore. Two women who have both

lost their brothers, but very different responses. What is she going to do now?

She needs to do something, and at first she thinks maybe what would be a good

idea would be to go to Olivia's court. Well, she also seems to remember that the

guy who runs this country is Orsino, and as she says, "Orsino! I have heard my

father name him. He was a bachelor then." Now it seems almost as though she's

she's sort of interested in Orsino before she even meets him. She tries to

go to Olivia's court, and she's informed by the captain that there's no point in going

to Olivia's court; she's not letting anybody in. And so she says I will

disguise myself as a boy and I will go and serve the Duke. Now that seems like a

very strange maneuver. Later we find out that she doesn't just put on male

clothes. What she does is disguise herself to look exactly like her brother

so she in essence becomes her brother. She stands in for her brother she

becomes like a walking tomb. And when you read this play and you see all of the

stage directions and the speech prefixes, you can see Vio., Vio., Vio, so we know it's

Viola. Think in terms of what this sounds like on stage. I want you to keep an ear

out for when Viola is first called by her true name, when she gets to have her

own identity back. It'll be a while now Remember I told you that there's usually

two different sets of plots; and the way Shakespeare likes to set these up is he

likes to sandwich scenes back and forth, so first we're with the lovers then we're

with the clowns. First we're at Orsino's, then we're at

Olivia's, and it's kind of "meanwhile back at the ranch" kind of structure. Again,

this makes it easier to keep track of. Here we're introduced to the comic characters,

the comic character being Sir Toby. That is Olivia's uncle. She is not really able

to control him. Sir Toby is somebody who would like it to be Christmas all year

round , and Christmas at that time was celebrated with a lot of drinking.

Maria's concerned--her lady-in-waiting is concerned---that Sir Toby will

eventually get thrown out of the house for drinking and carousing too much. And

also, Sir Toby has invited another person in as a suitor to Olivia, which Olivia whom

Olivia really can't get rid of, and his name is Sir Andrew Aguecheek. He's a

complete idiot. Now their style of presentation-- Sir Toby with a name like

Sir Toby Belch you can figure what he's like. He's very overweight, he's got very

ruddy red cheeks, he's constantly belching, as a matter of fact he's

drinking. And then Sir Andrew Aguecheek is long and skinny and there's a

reference to his hair hanging like flax on a distaff. In other words, he's got

long lank blonde hair, so we have this Laurel and Hardy effect. They're

very different-looking.

Maria manages to make fun of Sir Andrew. She sort of tricks him into putting his

hand down her chest. Yes, this is Shakespeare. I didn't promise you that it

was tasteful. And Sir Andrew doesn't know what to do and then this becomes-- you

know: she manages to make fun of him. Sir Andrew and Sir Toby

start talking about dancing, and there's all these specific

references to particular Renaissance dances. "What is thy excellence in a galliard?"

"Faith, I can cut a caper." "And I can cut the mutton to it." Well, capers and

mutton-- it's a bad joke. "and I think I have the back-trick simply as strong as

any man in Illyria." The back trick is a step in which you actually kick your

own rear end with your heel. It figures that Sir Andrew being an idiot he would

be particularly good at kicking himself in the butt.

Sir Toby tells him this is a major accomplishment of yours, to be able to

dance ,you should dance all the time. "Wherefore are these things hid? Wherefore

have these gifts a curtain before 'em? Are they like to take dust like Mrs. Mall's

picture? Why does thou not go to church in a galliard and come home in a

coranto? My very walk should be a jig. I would not so much as make water as in a

cinquepace. What does thou mean? Is it a world to hide virtues in? I did think by

the excellent constitution of thy leg, it was formed under the star of a galliard."

"Ay, 'tis strong, and it does indifferent well in a dun-colored stock. Shall we set

about some revels ?" "What shall we do else? Were we not born under Taurus?" "Taurus--

that's sides and heart." "No, sir, it is legs and thighs. Let me see thee caper. Higher!"

Now remember, I told you every including your body parts, are assigned

to a different zodiacal sign, and Sir andrew says "Taurus-- that's sides and heart,"

and Sir Toby says, "No, it's legs and thighs," and they're both wrong, and that's part

of the joke there. It doesn't take very long for Viola in Act One, scene four,

to have been admitted to Orsino's confidence. In fact, there's something

extraordinary about the way that he has taken to this young man, and he says to

him that he has "unclasped to him the book even of my secret soul," and so

because they have become so close he thinks this would be an

admirable person to send to Olivia to convince her that really she ought to

love Orsino. And Viola is not so keen on this. She tries to put him off. "Sure, my

noble lord, if she be so abandoned to her sorrow as it is spoke, she never will

admit me." "Be clamorous and leap all civil bounds rather than make unprofited

return." "Say i do speak with her, my lord, what then?"

"O, then unfold the passion of my love. Surprise her with discourse of my dear

faith. It shall become thee well and act my woes. She will attend it

better in my youth than in a nuncio's of more grave aspect." "I think not so, my lord."

"Dear lad, believe it, for they shall yet bely thy happy years that say thou art

a man. Diana's lip is not more smooth and rubeous. Thy small pipe is as the

maiden's organ, shrill of sound, and all is semblative a woman's part. I

know thy constellation is right apt for this affair. So what Orsino is saying is

"gee, you know you kind of... you know... your lips are kind of like a woman's and your

voice is kind of like a woman's, and you kind of look like a girl." And you wonder

whether or not he's sort of subconsciously thinking "this probably is

a woman," whether he has somehow gotten some kind of a clue,

whether he subconsciously thinks about that. Viola says that she will do her

best to woo his lady, and in fact we see that she tries very hard, but then she

adds "and yet a barfull strife, who ere I woo, myself would be his wife." And so we

have an unpleasant little love triangle set up, where Viola loves Orsino who

loves Olivia, and then of course in a few minutes, we're going to see that Olivia

is going to fall in love with Viola, thinking that Viola is a man, so that's

going to be a bit of a mess, and we're going to have to get that straightened

out. With scene 5, we have the beginning of the entrance of the clown, Feste. Feste

is a fool, and there were two types of fools. There were what were called

"natural fools"-- that would be a person who was in some way developmentally disabled,

and the Renaissance not necessarily being a very enlightened time, it was

considered entertaining to keep somebody around like that basically just to watch

what they did and said, and to take amusement from that. That could be

anything from a charitable thing to do to a rather nasty thing to do. And then

there were artificial fools and that is what Feste is: somebody who pretends to

be a fool; who tells jokes, who sings songs, something like a jester. But natural

fools and artificial fools alike had license. That doesn't mean that they went

out to the DMV and they got themselves a fool's license. What that means is that

they had liberty to say what they wanted to to anybody they wanted to, and wise

men took this as a good thing to have around; that when nobody else would speak

the truth to them, the fool considered that he had liberty to do so. And that is what

he proceeds to do. When Olivia comes in, she threatens to fire him

because he has been away, and so he has to give her a sample of his wit

and he says that he can prove that she is a fool. Now, this woman is

entirely dressed in blac,k she's extremely sober, she's coming in with her

extremely sober steward, Malvolio. A steward is something like a chief

servant and something like an estate manager or something in between, but he's

definitely a servant. And so Feste sets about proving that Olivia is a fool. "Good

Madonna, give me leave to prove you a fool." "Can you do it?"

"Dexteriously, good Madonna." "Make your proof." "I must catechize you for it, Madonna.

Good my mouse of virtue, answer me." "Well, sir, for want of other idleness, I'll bide

your proof." "Good Madonna, why mourn'st thou?" "Good fool, for my brother's death."

"I think his souls is in Hell, Madonna." "I know his soul is in heaven, fool." "The more fool,

Madonna, to mourn for your brother's soul being in heaven. Take away the fool,

gentlemen." In other words, "why are you mourning like this?

Your brother is in paradise. You have no reason to mourn." He's the only one who's

had the guts to say that to her, and she thinks this is maybe a good thing. She

turns to Malvolio, and says" what do you think?" and we see that Malvolio belongs

to the ranks of the severely humor impaired: "Infirmity, that decays the wise,

does ever make the better fool. I marvel your ladyship takes delight in such a

barren rascal. I saw him put down the other day with an ordinary fool that has

no more brain than a stone. Look you now. He's out of his guard already. Unless you

laugh and minister occasion, to him he's gagged. I protest I take these wise men

that crow so at these set kind of fools no better than the fools' zanies." and he

then basically suggests this this would mean

that Feste would lose his job, and Feste remembers this. He doesn't take immediate

revenge, but one of the things that time does, in addition to working out all

kinds of problems, as we see Feste say at the end of the play, "the whirligigs

of Time bring in his revenges." And so

Feste will remember this nasty thing that Malvolio does. We get a report that

Viola is at the gate, or rather the name she's going under her name to disguise

herself, Cesario, and then Malvolio comes in, saying that he's tried all the usual

butler's lies--she's not in, she's not at home, she's asleep, she's sick-- and Viola

will not take no for an answer. Now before we saw that nobody else got

this far. Valentine was sent back without even having a chance to speak to Olivia.

There's something about this young man who will not go home that intrigues

Olivia enough to have him let in, but they decide to play a joke on him, which

is that they throw their veils over their faces and when Viola comes in, she has to

give a speech about how beautiful Olivia is to a blank veil, not knowing which one

of these blank veils is Olivia. "The honourable lady of the house; which is

she? "Speak to me. I shall answer for her. Your will?" "Most radiant, exquisite and

unmatchable beauty--I pray you tell me if this be the lady of the house, for I

never saw her. I would be loath to cast away my speech, for besides that it is

excellently well penned, I have taken great pains to con it." In other words,

"I've memorized this speech, and I don't want to waste it." And Olivia says "forget

it. I'm not interested in hearing the speech it's likely

to be faked. I'm not interested in any of that stuff."

Viola pushes Olivia. Olivia says that she heard that she was "saucy at my gates and

allowed your approach rather to a wonder at you than to hear you. If you'd be not

mad, be gone; if you have reason, be brief. 'Tis not that time of the moon

with me to make one in so skipping a dialogue," in other words

that time of the month. Olivia is saying, "speed it up,

I have PMS, I'm not interested in your speech." Viola actually convinces Olivia

not just to listen to her, but to have everyone else sent away. Again, this is

much further than anyone has ever gone. You'll also notice that Orsino has sent

messengers. He has not come wooing for himself; that may have harmed him. Viola

actually asks to see Olivia's face, and the question is why does she do that? it

could be that she's sizing up the competition. She wants to see what it is

that's attracted Orsino so much. "Good madam, let me see your face." "Have you any

commission with you from your lord to negotiate with my face? You are now out

of your text. But we will draw the curtain and show you the picture. Look

you, sir. Such a one I was this present. Is't not well done?" "Excellently done, if God

did all." "Tis in grain, sir. T'will endure wind and weather." And so the implication

that she's painted herself up to look that good and Viola then moves from Wow

you know, you really are beautiful and then into another standard sonneteers thing, something that Shakespeare himself uses in his sonnets, saying that

if you're so beautiful, you can't refuse to reproduce yourself

that's just cruel, so you should get married and have children.

Olivia says, I'm not going to leave the world no copy of my beauty. I'll put it

in my will. She says, "Item, two lips, indifferent red;

item, two gray eyes, with lids to them; item, one neck, one chin, and so forth. Were you

sent hither to praise me?" "I see you what you are; you are too proud. But if you are

the devil, you are fair. My lord and master loves you. Oh, such love could be

but recompensed though you were crowned the nonpareil of beauty!" "How does he love me?"

"With adorations, with fertile tears, with groans that

thunder love, with sighs of fire." "Get you to your lord. Your lord does know my mind;

I cannot love him. Yet I suppose him virtuous, know him noble, of great estate,

of fresh and stainless youth; in voices well divulged, free, learned, and valiant,

and the in the dimension and the shape of nature a gracious person, but yet I cannot love

him. He might have took his answer long ago." And this is important to remember;

which is that she says, there's nothing wrong with Orsino. I just don't love

him, and that it's impossible to force love. This is a lesson that many of the

characters in this play have to learn; that it's impossible to force love. Viola

insists that if she were as much in love with Olivia as Orsino was, that she would

not understand this denial, and Olivia wants to know, "what would you do?" "Make me

a willow cabin at your gate, and call upon my soul within the house; write loyal

cantons of contemned love, and sing them loud, even in the dead of night.

Halloo your name to the reverberate hills, and make the babbling gossip of the air

cry out Olivia! O, you should not rest between the elements of air and earth,

but you should pity me. "You might do much. What is your parentage?" Why did she ask

"what is your parentage?" it's like asking, "mmm, interesting. Do you own, or do you

rent?"She's, in other words, trying to find out something more about Viola/

Cesario. In other words, this has interested her now. There's been a

genuine note of passion in Viola's pleading, and that's all displaced for

from her love for Orsino. She would like to spit this out to Orsino, but she

can't. she winds up using it for Olivia, and Olivia mistakes it as

being meant for her. Olivia insists, I can't love him. Don't

come back "unless you come to me again tomorrow to tell me how he takes it. Very

well. I thank you for your pains. Spend this for me and she gives Viola a tip.

That is a test. If Viola takes the tip, she's not a gentleman, and therefore

wouldn't be an appropriate mate for Olivia, but Viola refuses to

take it. In fact, she's quite angry. "I am no fee'd post, lady, keep your purse. My

master, not myself, lacks recompense. Love make his heart of flint that you shall

love, and let your fervour, like my master's, be placed in contempt. Farewell,

fair cruelty." Now, that's a curse. "I hope you love someone as much as Orsino loves

you, and I hope that the person that you fall in love with is as incapable of

returning your love as you are incapable of returning Orsino's love," and of course

as we've seen in Richard III, curses always come true. This curse has

already come true, and Olivia almost immediately starts the second that Viola

is out the door, replaying the conversation in her head. " 'What is your

parentage?' 'Above my fortunes, yet my states is well. I am a gentleman.' I'll be sworn

thou art. Thy tongue, thy face, thy limbs, actions, and gait do give thee fivefold

blazon. Not too fast; soft, soft; unless the master were the man.

How now? Even so quickly can one catch the plague?" Can you fall in love in

such a hurry? Well, yeah I guess you can. And she sends Malvolio off with a ring

and the injunction to give it to Viola, and she says herself, "I do I know not

what and fear to find mine eye too great a flatterer for my mind. Fate, show

thy force; ourselves we do not owe; what is to be,

must be-- and be this so!" So she sounds like she's willing to let things be, but

in fact she wants to force things to be the way she wants. The next time

we see somebody come in that looks like Viola, it is not Viola. It is her brother

Sebastian, who has been saved by a captain named Antonio. Antonio seems to

be so fond of Sebastian that he's willing to follow him into dange,r and

one of the questions is is this friendship, or is Antonio actually really

sort of in love with Sebastian? And if that's the case, does Sebastian even

really realize that that's what's going on? When Malvolio catches up with Viola,

he gives her the ring, and Viola realizes in fact wait a minute,

I didn't leave a ring with Olivia. What's going on? and realizes in some horror

that she has convinced Olivia to love her and that this is going to be a mess.

"She made good view of me; indeed ,so much that methought her eyes had lost her

tongue, for she did speak in starts distractedly. She loves me, sure; the

cunning of her passion invites herself in this churlish messenger. None of my lord's

ring? Why, he sent her none. I am the man. If it be so, as tis, poor lady, she were

better love a dream. And of course this becomes a mess. As she says, "my master

loves her dearly, and she, mistaken, seems to dote on me," and of course she is

in love with Orsino herself. "What will become of this? As I am man, my state is

desperate for my master's love. As I am woman, now alack the day, what thriftless sighs must poor Olivia breathe? O, Time, thou must untangle this, not I; it is too

hard a knot for me to untie." So viola realizes that this is an impossible

situation; and how is it going to work out? Well, she doesn't know. She'll leave

it up to Time. I mentioned that she's a very flexible

character. That is how she handles it. Now we have sir Toby and Sir Andrew getting

drunk and having a heck of a good time and coming in with Feste, and they start

singing various different love songs. and having a great time.

Maria comes in to warn them to keep it down, because Olivia doesn't appreciate this, and then Malvolio tries to shut them up. Malvolio,

as i said, is very humor impaired he's referred to as a Puritan. They were well

known for not enjoying different kinds of entertainment, including

theater. And they tell him that they want to continue partying, so

there's a power struggle going on here. "My masters, are you mad, or what are you?

Have you no wit, manners, nor honesty but to gabble like tinkers at this time of

night? do ye make an alehouse of my lady's house, that you squeak out your

cozier's catches without any mitigation of remorse in voice?

Is there is no respect of time, place, nor persons in you?" "We did keep time, sir,

in our catches. Sneck up!" "Sir Toby, I must be round with you. My lady bad me tell

you that though she harbors you as her kinsman, she's nothing allied to your

disorders. If you can separate yourself and your misdemeanors, you are welcome to

the house; if not, an it would please you to take leave of her, she is very willing

to bid you farewell." Instead of directly responding to Malvolio--and that is a

threat to throw Sir Toby out of the house--

Sir Toby responds by ironically singing him a love song "Farewell, dear heart,

since I must needs be gone." "Farewel,l dear heart, since I must needs be gone,"

"His eyes do show his days are almost done," And of course this is a joke. And

then finally Sir Toby says, what is wrong with you? "Art thou any more than a steward?

Dost think because thou art virtuous, there shall be no more cakes and

ale?" And Malvolio then appeals to Maria, saying, you have to choose. Choose between your mistress and these guys. If you carry on like this, it'll be

the end for you.- and Maria is very angry.

Maria seems to have a weak spot for Sir Toby. It's kind of hard to believe, since

he seems to be this this drunken belching fool, but you know there is

nobody who is so bad that somebody might not be in love with them, and

Maria doesn't like to see him threatened this way. She suggests that

they, instead of allowing Sir Toby to just go and beat Malvolio's lights out,

that what she'll do instead is make fun of him and set up a practical

joke ,and that practical joke is going to depend upon Malvolio's weak spot.

Malvolio's weak spot is that, despite the fact that he's such an unpleasant,

humorless person, he thinks everyone loves him.

And so what she will do is write a letter that looks as though it comes

from Oliviam and drop it for Malvolio, and the letter will suggest that Olivia is secretly in love with Malvolio, and this will give

him a chance to make himself look like an idiot. So Toby loves practical jokes.

He thinks this is wonderfu.l So they're playing on his flaws, his

his desire to hurry love, and the fact that he has this major desire to force

things to go his own way. When Orsino and viola are talking next, it almost seems

Viola almost confesses that she's in love with him.

Orsino starts to ask, well, gee, are you in love with somebody, and she says, well, "yes,

a little, by your favor." "What kind of woman is it?" "Of your complexion." "She is

not worth thee, then. Of what years, i' faith"? "About your years, my lord." So

something like you know, well, you know... she looks

like you, and she kind of is about your age"; and one of the things that's

interesting is that in addition to asking these questions,

Orsino is starting to show some interest in somebody other than himself, because

despite the fact that he's claimed to be so much in love with Olivia, actually

he's been a very self-centered person, and now he starts to ask questions about

Viola's sister. Orsino insists that the only men are capable of love;

that women are not suited for major passion, and there

couldn't possibly be a woman who loves him as much as he loves Olivia, and

Viola loses it at that. And she insists that she knows that that's not true, and

that she has a sister who fell in love with a man, "as it might be, perhaps,

were I a woman, I should your lordship." "And what's her history?" "A blank, my lord.

She never told her love, but let concealment, like a worm i' the bud, feed

on her damask cheek. She pined in thought, and with a green and yellow

melancholy, she sat, like Patience on a monument, smiling at grief. Was not this

love indeed? We men may say more, swear more, but indeed our shows are more than

will, for still we prove much in our vows, but little in our love." "But died thy

sister of her love, my boy?" "I am all the daughters of my father's house, and all

the brothers, too; and yet I know not. Sir, shall I to this lady?" "O, ay, that's the theme."

Yeah. It seems as though Orsino's displaying a certain curiosity about this

supposed sister of Viola's. Again, that's unlike the way he's behaved; and that in

a way, he's almost betraying a certain attraction to this boy, which might be a

matter of some concern for him. One of the questions is, is he beginning to

figure out in fact that this is not a boy at all but a girl, or

is he beginning to fall in love with Viola? Sir Toby and Fabian, who is another

guy who is not Feste, and Sir Andrew come to enjoy the spectacle of Malvolio

picking up the letter. Now Maria has nailed this just right. When Malvolio

comes in, he's already fantasizing about what it would be like if he were married

to Olivia. He thinks that it would be swell, that there's a reasonable chance

for it, and also that the best part would be that he would get to kick Sir Toby

around; that he would get to really lay the law down to him. Sir Toby

keeps forgetting that he's supposed to be in hiding, and almost responds to Malvolio directly a couple of times. "Cousin Toby, my fortunes having cast me on your niece, give me this prerogative of speech." "What? What?" "You must amend your

drunkenness." "Out, scab!" and they have to pull him back and

force him not to actually attack Malvolio. And then Malvolio finds the letter.

"'To the unknown beloved, this and my good wishes.' Her very phrases! By your leave, wax.

Soft! and the impression her Lucrece, with which she uses to seal. Tis my lady. To

whom should this be?" And then Mariah has set up both verses and a letter. "'Jove

knows I love, but who? Lips, do not move; no man must know.' No man must know. What

follows? The numbers altered. 'No man must know. If this should be thee, Malvolio! 'I

make command where I adore, but silence like a Lucrece knife with bloodless

stroke my heart doth gore. MOAI doth sway my life.' MOAI doth sway my life. Nay, but

let me see, let me see, let me see." And so at first, he thinks okay, this

works. You know, "I may command where I adore." Well, she is my

lady, I serve her, that's fine but then he thinks, um.... you know... if I could make

that resemble something in me, he says; and so it's not a question of does he

want to find out whether this resembles something in him. He wants to MAKE this

letter mean that Olivia loves him. And so "M, Malvolio, M. Why that begins my name!" So he

does figure it out. They were beginning to be worried that he wouldn't. And then

he says, "this simulation is not as the former, and yet to crush this a little, it

would bow to me, for every one of these letters are in my name. Soft, here follows

prose. 'If this fall into thy hands, revolve. In my stars I am above thee, but be not

afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some of

greatness thrust upon 'em. Thy fates open their hands; let thy blood and spirit

embrace them. Inure yourself to what thou art like to be. Cast thy humble

slough, and appear fresh. Be opposite with a kinsman, surly with servants; let

thy tongue tang arguments of state; put thy self into the trick of singularity.

She thus advises thee that sighs for thee. Remember who commended thy yellow

stockings, and wished to see thee ever cross-gartered; I pray, remember. Go to,

thou art made, if thou desirest to be so, if not, let me see thee a steward

still; the fellow of servants and not worthy to touch Fortune's fingers.

Farewell. She that would alter services with thee, the Fortunate Unhappy.' Yes! She

loves me! And she is so clever, because Maria has made

Malvolio remember things that never happened. Remember how I praised your

yellow stockings, remember how I praised your cross

gartering and tells him to please wear this. Now yellow being a color that's

very loud, and crossgartering being this very old-fashioned fashion, and also

something that's little extreme, this is the equivalent of Olivia saying, "oh wow, I

just love your lime green polyester leisure suit." And so what this means is

that when Malvolio comes in, he's going to be wearing the

Renaissance equivalent of a lime-green polyester leisure suit, just to make

Olivia happy. And then he's out also been enjoined to smile. "'Thou cannot choose but

know who I am. If thou entertain'st my love, let appear in thy smiling.

Thy smiles become the well. Therefore in my presence, still smile, dear my sweet

i prithee.' Jove, I thank thee! I will smile. I will do everything that that will have

me!" Now of course, Malvolio hasn't smiled since the Hoover

Administration and so he has to kind of, you know, crank it up so that he can actually

smile. Mariah then points out that Olivia is particularly unfond of the color

yellow and of crossgartering, and that the smiling is going to be something

that she's going to be convinced that Malvolio is out of his min.d

This is usually the big moment that everybody waits for, is the entrance of

Malvolio and at this point, the moment we are waiting for, the entrance of Malvolio

in his Renaissance lime green polyester leisure suit. This is usually where

there's an intermission in the play, and it seems an appropriate intermission for

our lecture.

i have been gone far too long... - Duration: 4:31.

I know I've been gone for a long time, but I'm back for now

This is just an update video telling you that I'm back

Well, let me tell you what's been going on lately?

For the month of August I was really ill, and I had typhoid and so the whole month I was

Dying...almost..but not really so then I recovered in the whole month of October was gone in trying to recover from all of that

and trying to catch up on all the work that I missed and all the college stuff that I had to catch up on

but now I'm back and

When I started this little channel I had this intention of making a video every two weeks

So that I keep on track and I remain creative throughout the whole year

And so basically for the whole year I wanted to create 26 videos and because I'm lagging behind

i'll tried to cover up, but still make 26 videos this year

atleast i'll try by best

So well these are just a few lil clips

im going to show you that i caught

that really...

Even when I was down... that really entranced me

Basically, I was sitting in an auto...auto rickshaw

for people who are not in india (or not familiar), auto rickshaw is also a thing...google it...

and I was looking the other way anything. I just turned and then I saw this horse cart and

Horse carts are not as common as you'd think so... it was a pleasant surprise to see the horse cart right there

and it was just minding its own business and that made me

Really happy...just because so i thought ill share that

Butterflies have been an attraction lately

i love seeing them

Unexpectedly because there's so much

Urbanization and industrialization ...all concrete and cement in everything now. There are so very limited

Places where you even see

butterflies

so it was nice...

I liked watching them..

there was one time, and it was raining really hard and

I didn't have the house keys

so I had to stay in the staircase till my mom came and gave me the keys and we could go inside and so I

I was really

really

Feeling bad that day because nothing was going my way. I was wet.. I was soaking wet, I was hungry

My shoes were not cooperating and everything was going badly

but then I just stopped for a moment to think and I looked out the window and

Soaw rain through the rains point of view

And I realized that

The rain is not there to irritate me. It's doing its job

And that is it's being itself and that is

being rain (????? what do i mean????) so

These were just a few things that made me happy

Yeah, so I'm back before I go I should remind

If you didn't know because I actually never announced it on my channel

I have this playlist on my youtube channel called calm playlist which is basically my kind of music and my chill

Aesthetic... my chill and calm and anxiety ridding music so you can go and check it out

It has a lot of songs, and I think you'll like it. If you like that kind of chill more word-y more Lyrics based

song

And yeah, I missed youtube. I hope you missed me too and

go on keep watching. I am going to get some really good stuff together

That that was a lot of "and"s

take a shotshot everytime 'i said "and" ....please don't die.... okayyyyyyy byeeeeeee

If this feeling flows both ways sad to sing Oh

15-Year-Old Girl Disappears Out Of Nowhere, Month Later A Farmer Spots Her Sprinting Through

His Crops

When a Minnesota farmer stopped by his home during the workday because he'd forgotten

something, he had no idea he was about to become a hero.

It all started one month before that moment and culminated in a farm field.

Jasmine Block, 15, disappeared from her home in Alexandria, Minnesota, in August.

Authorities disclosed that a family acquaintance had lured Jasmine away from her home by convincing

her that he needed assistance with a family situation.

But the male family acquaintance kidnapped Jasmine and, along with two male accomplices,

repeatedly assaulted her and held her captive in an abandoned home for 28 days.

But one day when the men left that home to grab lunch, Jasmine seized the opportunity

to try and escape.

Despite being brutalized for almost a month, Jasmine managed to summon the strength to

swim across a lake to get away from her captors.

Then, she crept through tall grasslands that led her up to the farmer's home.

As fate would have it, the farmer had popped into his home at the same time Jasmine was

sneaking through the grass trying to find safety.

He noticed the grasses rustling and paused.

During an interview with CBS 4, the farmer said:

"It's usually quiet out here.

She was up, so I could see her, but I couldn't tell what it was."

At first, the man thought it was a deer.

But once he realized it was a girl, he took action.

The farmer started his truck and began to approach her and then she broke out into a

full sprint toward him.

He knew right away who it was.

"When she come walking out of the grass I'm thinking oh my gosh, you got to be kidding

me.

When I saw her face, I knew right away."

The man couldn't believe what was unfolding on his property.

He gladly helped her finish her escape route.

"Anybody can call 911, it's just I was in the right place at the right time.

It was just a great feeling, [I told her] 'just get in the pickup, we're going to

help you now.'"

Dispatchers told the farmer to remain on the property with Jasmine.

While she was climbing out of his pickup and into the sheriff's deputy's car, one of the

suspects drove right past them.

He told CBS 4: "So one of the deputies chased him down."

As a father of three girls, the farmer was relieved that Jasmine was finally free.

He said he couldn't believe he was the one chosen to help her.

"It was like somebody shined a big beam of light on me yesterday for some reason and,

I don't know, I was kind of on a high all day long yesterday."

Police eventually arrested Thomas Barker, Joshua Holby and Steven Powers in the case.

They face an assortment of criminal charges.

Romanian Experience #02 Learning Romanian - Duration: 6:34.

Learning Romanian

Is like a clothing shop

Some words

Fit you

Others.. just don't

A new language

Is always an adventure

That's why I would like to share with you

My first contact with Romanian language

When you've just arrived in a new country

You always meet good people

Who are willing to help you

To teach you the most frequent words

in order to make your life easier

So, it seems that in Romania

The most frequent word is

"PULA" 1) City in Croatia 2) Dick

It's not a word actually

It's more like

a punctuation

We also have our punctuation in France

The right translation would be

"PUTAIN" prostitute

I need to admit that I am using it quite a lot in France

Only because of the region I come from

In Romania

The only bad word that I am using is

"CĂCAT" shit

Yes, I know

I am a little player

Another example about those good people

You see who I am speaking about

Sometimes, they trick you

You might have been one of them

I definitely was

Specially with tourists

and we have a lot of tourists in Avignon

All of this to say, that one time

I wanted to order a coffee entirely in Romanian

So I went to my friend and asked

How do I say?

"Hello, I would like a short espresso"

"Thank you"

"Have a good day"

My friend gave me the translation

and made me practice

Once I felt ready

I went to give it a try

Bună ziua, un espresso scurt vă rog

Right away!

Yes! I managed

she understood everything

Here you go

"SĂ TE FUT" fuck you

Something is wrong

You need to escape

Escape

Have a good day!

I explained it all and everybody made fun of me

And to be honest what disturbed me the most

Was not the fact that I said a very ugly word to a nice lady

After, I didn't feel good

I mean today

I don't buy coffee anymore

What disturbed me the most

Was when they told me

What I should had said

"MERSI" thank you

Seriously!

A transparent word

Merci

No but I am French!

Come on!

Today, I only use "MULȚUMESC"

I have no more mercy for "MERSI"

And then, you have this word

Who provokes in me

An emotion of excitement

"CE FRUMOS" beautiful

When I see something that I like

"CE FRUMOS" beautiful

I can't fight against the need to say it out loud

"CE FRUMOS" beautiful

No matter with who I am

Where I am

or which language I am speaking

"CE FRUMOS" beautiful

After you have some words that you understand directly

No translation needed

"TE PUP" Kiss you

This word is so cute

I love it

This word comes often with

"PA PA" bye bye

"TE PUP PA PA" kiss you bye

I thought I got the full meaning

Kiss you Dad

Dad is "PAPA" in French

Just another transparent word

But NO!

Actually, my colleagues were not speaking all day long with their dads

But to different people

And not specially from the same family

I also have an expression that I dislike in Romanian

"ÎMI PARE RAU" sorry

It is like the easiest answer

You don't want to bother

Sorry, it is not possible

I haven't said anything yet

Sorry

The worst is that

Sorry

They don't seem to be convinced

Sorry

Aaah, no, you are not sorry

Yeah! sorry seems to be the correct translation

But, I personally feel it like

Go away, just go!

I prefer

"SCUZE" sorry

It's nice "scuze"

Sorry, it is not possible today

I have a word that I find awesome and very useful

"LA FEL" the same

Short, fast, straight to the point

But be careful

This word needs to be used with moderation

Because it can get you drunk very quickly

The same

The same

The same

The same

There is also a word that makes me sing

"BINE" good

How are you, SteF?

Good, good, good, good

After, the word which confuses me the most is

"SĂRUT M NA" thank you

I was invited to a family dinner

And the grandma cooked "sărmăluțe'"

For sure!

At the end of the dinner

My friend told me to say "sărut-mâna" to her grandma

I said "Ok but what does it mean?"

She told me "thank you!"

No! thank you

Is rather "mulțumesc" or "mersi"

Sorry, but someone already trapped me

With a supposed

Thank you

So she finally gave me more explanations

"Sărut-mâna" means hand kiss

It is a very respectful way

Of saying thank you to old people

The king of thank you

The best thank you

You can give

So me, I was ready to kiss

She tells me hand kiss

Where is the hand?

I kiss the hand!

No!?

But, it seems that no!

You just have to say it

Not to do it

So I have a message to send to the younger generation

The called "Z generation"

And even the ones after "Z"

When I will be old

I promise, I will be

If you tell me "sărut-mâna"

You have to kiss me

for REAL!

I won't let you go!

I will chase you!

And I will scream

My kiss!

Where is my kiss?

I want my kiss!

Conclusion

Not all the words will fit you

But some will

And they will be an addition to your identity

Have a good day!

Hello Budapest!

I love you!

I love each one of you!

I mean it

Hello guys we meet again with Qwa SG here

Now i will give you tips for Barcelona Formation

first thing we must do is controller setting

in Barcelona setting i use level 3 pass support

because barcelona good and effective with short pass

Now we go into gameplan

i will use 4-2-1-3 formation

why i use this?

this formation vey good in attacking and counter attack too

defend good too

must have 1 AMF here, and iniesta very vital point here

i use SS here for winger

cause SS can cut inside and wing attack here

and will good for short or through passing here

after this we will go to attacking instruction

i still use possesion game for attacking style

(check video)

Now we go to defensive instruction

(check video)

now we go to advance instruction

i use tiki taka here as a trademark for Barcelona

hug touchline for wing attack

double counter target

very important here, i use left and right wing for counter target

that all setting i use for Barcelona Formation

the last i always use joint attack for dead ball

free kick or corner kick

What needs to happen

for two paths to cross

Let me read

a short poem from a French poet

Tom Edinare(?)

There, he describes

a meeting of two people

finding their way to each other

I saw you among the wheat

I saw you under the tree

I saw you at the end of my path

I saw you at the bottom of my dispair

I saw you in the corner of every laugh

I saw you coming out of the water

and fire

I saw you

in my dreams

I saw you in my dreams

I have a feeling...I dont know

What is love

Thank you

She Holds Husband's Hand As He Takes Final Breath, Then Son Sees Something That Makes

Him Gasp

All love is special, but sometimes you hear a story of a love so incredible it just takes

your breath away.

Such is the story of the love shared by Raymond and Velva Breuer.

The couple was together pretty much their entire lives.

They grew up in the same town, went to the same one-room primary school, and graduated

from the same high school.

Raymond was smitten with Velva from the start, though he had a little trouble showing her

at first.

At a celebration of their 77th anniversary in January, Raymond told a reporter that in

fourth grade he tried to get Velma's attention by sticking her with a poker from the fireplace

of their schoolhouse.

He didn't realize it was hot and it left her with a scar that she carried for the rest

of her life.

Despite the rocky start, in 1940 they were finally married.

"She married me to get even with me," Raymond joked.

The Breuers happily spent the rest of their lives side-by-side, raising six children together

– four boys and two girls.

Over the years they also welcomed 18 grandchildren and so many great- and great-great-grandchildren

that no one in the family has an accurate count of how many there are!

Though their lives may not have made newspapers or magazines, everyone who knew them was struck

by the love they had for each other, their family, and for God.

"They would always hold hands and sit in the front-row pews of the church," said

Missouri State Representative Cheri Reisch, who knew the couple well.

"They never left each other's side.

It was true love."

While both of their minds stayed sharp as they entered their 90s – something their

children attribute to the fact that both were avid readers – they bodies started to decline.

They moved into Boone Landing Retirement Community where Raymond held weekly Bible studies and

slept on a cot next to Velma's bed so they never had to be apart.

He even joked that they should be buried together.

"Dad told one of the nurses before he passed, that if they went close together, that they

should just be buried together, in the same casket," their son, Bobby Breuer, said.

Little did he know that little joke would foreshadow things to come.

On August 4, as he held his bride's hand, Raymond passed away peacefully to eternity.

Just 30 hours later, Velma joined him.

Raymond was 97 and Velma was 96.

As the family began to plan the funeral, they remembered what their dad had said about them

being buried together.

Even though he had said it as a joke, the family began to think that it would be the

perfect way for them to go.

"[O]ther people heard it and we asked the funeral director," Bobby said.

"Mother was a very small woman, and Dad wasn't that big."

At the funeral, the pair was placed side-by-side in the same coffin, their hands intertwined.

While their family is heartbroken to say goodbye, they know this is exactly how Raymond and

Velma would have wanted it.

They spent almost a century living and working together; how appropriate that they should

spend all of eternity together as well.

INLINE SKATING HACK - HOW TO MAKE DIY SLIDERS WITH OLD SKATE WHEELS // VLOG 164 - Duration: 6:56.

Olá YouTube, my name is Ricardo lino and I'm a wheel addict and I'm sitting in the

floor and why am I sitting in the phone well I'm about to act some skates what

am I gonna do well do you know these things here if this thing it's called

sliders I think that's how people call it basically it's a perfection that a

lot of the free skates have to to allow you to slide and protect your boot but

maybe it's not a problem maybe it's just in my hand

I did saw someone a few months ago changing these for a piece of rubber and

I thought to myself well if I'm going to be sliding and if the dude touchin if

it's plastic I might fall because it's two different sliding surfaces then

rubber from the wheels and the plastic from the boot so it's actually a really

good idea so I'm gonna try it and that's what I'm gonna do today I'm gonna show

you how to change these or out to make your DIY Do It Yourself rubber one by

using a piece or will

by the way you'll find these piece in all this different type of free skates

these ones are a carbon boot the power slide

article Evo 2 but you'll find these also in Imperial which is like a plastic food

or all other brands that make these free skates like saver lining or rollerblade

most of the brands come with these things so we'll be able to change this

thing for a piece of rubber what kind of rubber am I going to use

for that okay so do you remember this I made a video about these wills the this

was like the insert that these bills I have for I rebound well I have these

wheels just laying around and check what I'm gonna do with these and when I try

to transform these into something like this main difference this is plastic

this is proper urethane let's see how it goes

school

yeah I know that these are not the best tools but here you gotta play with what

you got so I think it's gonna work okay so tools update I went and bought a

dremel I really need one of these for all the skate modifications whatever we

want to call it all the skate acts that I do so I ended up realizing that it's

going to help me that's what I did so now I got some more stuff to do in my

sliders that Matteo put it the other way around

around the boot ds1 look completely flat so I'm gonna try to shave a little bit
