Youtube daily report Oct 8 2017

Hello, and welcome back to projects and experiments!

Today we're gonna be doing slime

using two different methods.

We'll be using school glue in both cases.

The first method is going to utilise

a chemical called Borax,

or sodium tetraborate.

The second method will be using hydrogen peroxide.

Let's get started,

with the Borax slime.

Well... how are we gonna do this. We will need

school glue which contains

one of two chemicals, it's a bit unclear.

Anyway, it's either polyvinyl acetate

or polyvinyl alcohol.

And this is a polymer.

Between these polymer chains we'll be able to incorporate so called

cross-linkings, and that's

the thing that Borax helps with.

So, what we will need is glue,

Borax and water.

I think we should use this entire thing.

Now when we have

our glue in that beaker,

we'll add an equal amount of water.

There we go.

Then,

we'll be using a saturated solution of Borax.

Let's mix Borax and water.

I'm adding an excess now.

I think that should be sufficient.

And now we have decanted

the saturated solution

of Borax

From the rest of the crystals.

There's only one thing remaining:

mixing them together!

Very liquid as you can see.

There's just no chance that I would be able to grab a chunk of this

That is if I tried (which I actually am)

Let's mix them

and see what happens

I'll start mixing with the spoon and then get on with the hands.

As you can see it's starting to thicken.

Decanting a little bit more...

Slime soon, but I think we have to work with it a little bit more.

And now...

A little bit like cheese actually.

Let's do this.

If we take it in this plastic bag

and knead it there.

Wonderful!

As you can see

this is pretty

slimey right now.

And it's not that much

but still.

It's actually a non-newtonian fluid.

Which entails that you can break it

and let it flow together again.

So frickin' cool.

Oops.

Here's some speed-up footage of the slime flowing out in a beaker.

Another thing you can try

is to directly add glue to the Borax solution,

meaning you won't be diluting it before.

Perhaps it's even better.

And if you so desire

it's possibe to pull out individual worms

or even entire bowel systems...

... metaforically speaking... of course.

The main thing is the reaction

And it probably doesn't

matter that much if you empty out an entire bottle directly in the borax solution.

You'll probably get similar results.

I actually thought this method was way easier

although the final products were basically the same.

In total we got this much slime.

Using 2 bottles of glue.

When you're done with it

it can be put in a little glass jar

and there you can store it

and take it out when you want.

And now: slime numbah twoooh!

We'll be using the same glue

and som e hydrogen peroxide.

I've never tried this before

and I've also never seen anyone try.

So we'll see what happens,

but, theoretically, I think that it should work the same way.

Some quick chemistry now!

Why do I think tis will work?

You are now looking at the structural formula for polyvinyl acetate:

the active ingredient in...

that glue.

And there

is a three-demensional structural formula for hydrogen peroxide.

What I think will ocurr is the following:

Hydrogen peroxide decomposes

at 150.2 Celsius.

So along with the ascending temperature

it'll be like a pair of scissor here.

And then we'll get 2 free OH-radicals

that, hopefully, will rip of a hydrogen atom,

hopefully one of those

three, if my assumtion is correct.

So that we'll get H2C there

and the same thing with some other polymer chain

which should mean that this carbon will be able to create a covalent cross-linking

with another polymer chain,

thus getting the exact same effect here

as we got with the Borax slime.

In conclusion:

we're gonna mixe the school glue

with

Hydrogen peroxide, and then we'll heat it up to

roughly 150,2 Celsius

thereby decomposing the H2O2 into free OH-radicals

that will steal a Hydrogen atom

that will enable

the bonding between that carbon atom and another one from another chain.

Now we're getting down to busines.

Since I haven't done this before I'm guessing

a 50/50 mixture would

be an OK starting point.

The idea is

to bring this mixture to a boil

and decompose the H2O2

ant that's why we're using quite a bit of H2O2

because this is only a 12% solution.

So we want to up the concentration

first so that we can

get it up to a sufficient temperature for decomposition. So let's mix them,

wait,

and see what happens.

I'm starting to hear a little bit of bubbeling.

Yeah.

Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap...

Oops!

Please... stay there!

OK, so it's boiling now.

Pleeeeease!

F**k! Well that wasn't the best thing that happened today.

But what if we can make slime of that.

Is this the polymer?

So I transferred everything

to that beaker.

And this is the remainder.

Some more time has passed.

I think it's a little slimey.

But is it caused by the actuall cross-linkings

that the H2O2

has, supposedly, created

or is it just the natrual behavior of the glue

when it is boiled down.

Here I thought the concentration of H2O2 was high enough to

increase the temperature to 150 degrees

so therefore I put the hotplate to max.

Hopefully,

at max heat,

some cross-linkings have been created.

Wow that's slimey!

If it truely is cross-linkings

we should be able to put it in water

and still have the same concistency.

If it was possible with the Borax slime

it shoud be possible here to.

*cough* Ew!

And now everything

is in water. I actually think is possible

that we've made slime

this way. It's obviously not useful,

in fact

quite unpleasant.

So that was everything for this time

Hope you liked it! If you did, then make sure to hit that like button!

Please also leave a comment where you write what you think happened.

And if you think the last experiment was sucessful.

I'll see you next time!

Badass Texans Player Just Shut Down Every Whiny Protester On His Field With What He Brought To Game. - Duration: 4:35.

As tens of thousands of Texans and Floridians battle the aftermath of the hurricane that

ripped through their communities, we're beginning to glimpse into the heart and soul

of what makes America, America. While loudmouths like "oppressed" millionaire football

stars like Colin Kaepernick could easily use his social media presence to rally his base

and organize relief efforts, he's obviously too self-absorbed with plotting his next bout

of anti-American antics to give flying crap about suffering Americans. Now a lesser-known

NFL player is putting every kneeling player to shame after the incredible thing he brought

onto the football field Sunday night that's making these ungrateful players look like

even bigger jackasses than they already were, while proving that the spirit of America is

alive in well.

As "oppressed" millionaire NFL players continue to make a mockery of our country

while insulting ever single soldier who fought, bled, and died for this country by protesting

our National Anthem, other NFL players like Justin James "J. J." Watt have been working

tirelessly to organize hurricane relief efforts for the past several weeks. Watt, who is defensive

end for the Houston Texans, raised a whopping $30 million just in the last week and a half

alone, putting every kneeling douchebag in the NFL to massive shame.

Rather than taking a knee or using his time in the spotlight to act like a gigantic jackass,

Watt ran onto the football field for his first game since Hurricane Harvey with a gigantic

flag, symbolizing the incredible spirit of Americans uniting after the catastrophe, a

patriotic gesture that anti-American morons like Colin Kaepernick can't even comprehend.

The stadium went absolutely nuts, giving the man who has raised $30 million to rebuild

their destroyed communities an incredible rock star welcome, rightfully stealing the

spotlight from the anti-American clowns whose disgusting antics continue to make headlines

at every single NFL game as of late.

If morons like Colin Kaepernick truly cared about America and wanted to be a positive

force for "change" like they claim, they'd be first in line to help pass out boxes of

food and supplies to these suffering victims. We as Americans need to stop allowing these

kneeling idiots to hijack our favorite sport and give players like Watt the attention and

praise he deserves, as he truly cares for Americans and is choosing to use his platform

in such an incredible way.

J.J. reported over twitter that the physical donations pouring in so fast, that the money

that was raised hasn't even been tapped into yet. Pictures of supplies overflowing

from storage spaces and trucks could be seen, where these supplies were donated in a massive

distribution event over the weekend to the suffering Houston community.

What's even more amazing is that after raising all this money and coordinating the relief

efforts, J.J. has been hands-on and involved ever step of the way, even physically going

to the distribution centers and handing out supplies. Keep in mind Watt is a professional

athlete who is taking time away from his vigorous training to help his fellow Texans.

In a recent interview with James Palmer, J.J. was asked about how many hours a day he's

spending on relief efforts, and his answer was remarkable:

"I asked Watt how many hours he's spent on his fundraiser and planning this event

since he arrived in Houston with the rest of his teammates on Wednesday. "All of them,"

he said, smiling. Outside of a two to three hour workout each day, Watt has spent every

second working with either Houston mayor Sylvester Turner, people from the Justin J. Watt Foundation,

or volunteers to make this massive project a success in just a few short days. There

is no question there were also a few prayers Saturday night that things would go off without

a hitch.

Many professionals — let alone professional football players — struggle to lead groups

during a time of crisis. Watt has done it brilliantly. I asked someone close to Watt,

who has been with him during every step of the planning and preparation, how much of

this he's actually been hands-on for. She responded, "All of it."

As for the tens of millions of dollars he's raised, J.J. says, "I'm going to take

my time, make sure that I work with local organizations that we do it right here in

the city so that money goes straight to the people here of Houston who need it the most

so that we can help rebuild them."

What an incredible man! Rather than using his platform to whine about America and our

country's "injustices," Watt is showing is leading by example and truly being the

"change" that our country needs, showing these ungrateful protesting morons throughout

the NFL what it really means to be an American.

Thank you for watching...

Junk Food Confessions! - Duration: 3:14.

Hey guys! it's Jenna and this video is inspired by Jenna Marbles and also the

fact that I love food way too much um so I'll be telling you

guys some of my junk food confessions so yeah let's just get started! So, it all started

in the beginning of summer break we were at my dad's house and we were going to

have a girls night so we got we got Pizza Hut we got a cookie dough bowl

because I love eating cookie dough not usually a real cookie but like cookie

dough and I like eating large amounts of it so we got a cookie dough bowl and

pizza and I had like five slices of pizza which is already a lot for me

normally and then I go ahead and eat quite a lot of cookie dough and I finish it

around the course of four days so cookie dough is gone let me go back to my mom's

house I'm like hey I want some more cookie dough so I pay my brother five dollars to go to Vons

and get me a cookie dough bowl and I eat it and it's gone

so that's terrible and then I decided hey I want more cookie dough, so I give

my brother another five dollars to buy me another cookie dough bowl and I eat

it like over the course of five days and it's gone I'm just like I just ate two

bowls of cookie dough like seriously my second confession is that I love cereals

like so much like I have cereal for every meal of the day if I could and

that's how much cereal I eat in a day like I'll eat three servings of one

cereal in one sitting like I'll do that and it won't even matter to me because I

love the cereal so much and my excuse for this are like oh it's okay because

I'll just get skinier later or oh it's okay because I don't normally eat that much

during Thanksgiving so I can eat more now like what's the logic and those

excuses there is none and I thought that maybe I'd get thinner

because school starting up again and you walk more during this time and yeah I

did but you know still kind of bad. Still kind of unhealthy and I'm only

eating two servings right now so um that's a little bit better but still

it's it's brutal I guess I'm so bad at eating and I have this terrible

relationship with food, but you know... That's life right so thank you guys so

much for watching this video I hope you enjoyed it and could relate if you could

make sure to give this video a like and comment below if you want me to make a part 2

because I can definitely give you guys that so thank you guys so much for

watching I already said that but I hope you guys enjoyed this video and like

this new angle that I found without using a tripod I kind of like it too

so anyway I'll see you guys in my next video. Bye!

Where The Hillbillies Live - Duration: 7:01.

it really is for the hillbillies love I want to be a hillbilly

hey guys what's up a good morning it is Saturday and Greg and I are heading out

to some outlet stores he wants to look forever kleiner and we're gonna take a

new route well we've never been out there before well we're gonna take a new

to us route through the mountains and kind of look at some property because

you know we do all right let's go get this day started Graceland dig her out

here barking was he barking it oh

somebody thinks that he can like just go wherever he wants to with this thing

good boy we're keeping you awake all right so we

are finally getting ready to head out I changed my shirt again because you know

I'm spending too much time in the house all right let's go

so we're on the hunt for a chair for Greg again but one of these days we'll

find the right one and we need really comfortable furniture for the living

room because the furniture we have is atrocious

I bet you you're gonna love that one so when I'm looking outside of my

livingroom window this right here is the mountain that we

actually see we're heading right to it so cool I want to live on the mountain

oh I just want to oh my God look at all that so many pretty made something to

hide something here

they put a lot of dirt rocks there to do something

that's just that's of rocks that movement where to build something

we are so close to our mountains you guys this is so cool

that's my mountain right there oh my god you guys look at the bridge

and it's got a red light that must mean there's a lot of traffic out here one

lane bridge with a red light that is cool that's a steep road while we are

near hill I mean hello it's a brook I live here look at the I don't know what

is their significance to this bridge I think they're supposed to

Donald Fujiyama cocky a contract pending somebody bought my

house and they've got a bridge over the creek too

oh right here come here this is you and it's gorgeous oh my god that's fucking

cool that's motorcycles Oh No look at that 18 acres babe hold up some

nice-looking hills too

let's go back dude like I really want to live in the mountains right now like

seriously this is so cool I said

it's got running water yeah yeah pumping announcer Range Rover that's up here I

said it's only our 15 months we're gonna have to do some researching

fur really look at how that massive that melon is like I know it's stupid right

because mountains are high of course see that soaring around look around it oh my

god this is crazy

it really is where the hillbillies live I'm gonna be a hillbilly oh my god I

really like it out here a slight right but be careful cuz there's a lot of cars

for you I mean I could live like right here and I could like go out there and

take pictures of the mountain that's behind me and all the cool colors

so Greg and I made our way to another furniture store and I'm in love with

this chair I think it would look really good in our bedroom so I don't know

i'ma show it to Greg and see what he thinks we're here looking for Greg but I

think I'm in love I wish they had like there's some real furniture like I mean

real furniture I mean like a couch or a love seat but all they got is recliners

but this I want to say don't fall but if you do fall make it a good one because

I'm recording you right now you would break the ladder oh the bushes I told

you we need to rip the Bush bush about it's fine Greg found something to put

the jeep lights in because he's getting all these like little Jeep lights that

we need because all the bulbs in his Jeep are bad look at how cool this is

hey if I can't wake up I was cold in my hair

Mitch McConnell Just Got Horrific News, You'll Be Speechless - Duration: 25:11.

Mitch McConnell Just Got Horrific News, You'll Be Speechless

GOP supporters are tired of the absence of activity from their party.

The GOP has been staggering with regards to staying faithful to their commitments — guarantees

made to the individuals who voted them into control — and their base has chosen they

wouldn't take it any longer.

The once excited benefactors to the Republican Party are apparently in a full revolt after

all of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's disappointments to get anything went through

the Senate, as indicated by Politico.

Strains among baffled supporters of the party have achieved a record high point.

Amid a current supper at the home of extremely rich person Robert Day, one retired oil and

gas investor and party supporter, Thomas Wachtell, told the McConnell that he and his party needs

to "just do something."

"Anybody who was there knew that I was not happy.

And I don't think anybody was happy.

How could you be?" said Wachtell, who has given a huge number of dollars to Senate Republicans

throughout the years, just to see constrained outcomes for his commitments."You're never

going to get a more sympathetic Republican than I am.

But I'm sick and tired of nothing happening."

The circumstance has turned out to be bad to the point that financing for the long stretch

of August and July was $2 million, not as much as half of what it brought up in earlier

months.

Mulling over the need to keep up their numbers in the up and coming 2018 midterms, Senate

Republicans are in a condition of expanding alarm.

"When you're in a business and you tell your stakeholders you're going to build

a building or something, you have to follow through," said Dan Eberhart, conservative

supporter and vitality official.

"I can't borrow money to build a building and then not follow through, which is what

these guys are doing."

Significant supporters of the Republican Party have for some time been sought top picks by

the foundation.

These donors have truly been treated with steady consideration and guarantees in return

for their noteworthy financing.

In any case, even the most vigorous pledge drives have communicated their trouble in

setting up meetings with some of these individuals.

One master GOP pledge drive sent an email he got from a looked for after benefactor.

"The GOP leaders should know, no movement on remaining agenda: tax reform, infrastructure,

deregulation, etc. means no funding from supporters like me.

No meetings, calls, contributions until we see progress."

These worries are not unjustified.

Notwithstanding having a lion's share in Congress, the GOP had continually fizzled

when it came time for them to pass basic bits of enactment.

Most certifiably was the Obamacare repeal bill, which neglected to go in rehashed endeavors

on account of key turncoats inside the party.

For Americans who bolster the President, in any case, these improvements are a long way

from the awful news.

Indeed, many are trusting that the absence of monetary assets will weight huge numbers

of these Republicans to fall in accordance with the desires of their constituents.

VP Mike Pence's Chief of Staff called for donors to "form a coalition" to go up

against the GOP leaders and individuals who didn't support the President's activities.

"If I were you [donors], I would not only stop donating, I would form a coalition of

all the other major donors," he said privately.

This is precisely the sort of weight the GOP wants to change itself into the once awesome

party that it used to be.

What do you think about this?

Do not hesitate and write your thoughts in the comment section below.

Thank

you

for reading.

THE JOKER FACE (The Dark Knight) PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL! - Duration: 33:54.

how's it going guys today I'm going to be doing a tutorial on how to make

yourself look like that Heath Ledger version of The Joker using Photoshop

of course this is just a spin off of what I did

a couple weeks ago to try and Photoshop yourself talk with Pennywise from the

IT movie so let's get started. I do want to just apologize that I haven't put a

tutorial up or uploaded anything in the last couple weeks, I have been sick so my

voice just wasn't well enough to do the voice over for a video. However it is

nearly 100% now so yeah I wanted to throw something as soon as possible so

let's jump right into this. So I'll just show you what I have here: this promo "Why So Serious?"

photo of Ledger as The Joker

so just did a quick pose here to try and give that same positioning of

that photo. First thing what I'm going to want to do, I want to cover up everything

surrounding the face so I only want the face highlighted the way I'm going to do

that is by creating a new layer and I'm gonna want to fill it black so this is

gonna take a few steps but let's then give that layer a clipping mask to make

sure that's highlighted. Grab the brush tool you're gonna also want the black color

for that this may be a little bit too big let's shrink out a bit so 1400 pixels

is good and let's just start filling in the areas that we want highlight so that

should be good I just want to point out that that

brush had a hardness of 0, we want that feather on it so it

doesn't look like it was cut out. so now that we have that I'm just gonna lock it

in place so now that we have that let's click the background layer and you just

want to create a black and white adjustment layer so just like the IT video

you want to bring up those reds and yellows you just want the white really

stand out in the face now we do have a clipping mask on here so I just want to

click on that clipping mask and zoom in grab the brush tool again let's

drop the brush size down I've got it down to six a seven (px) that'll do set

to black and I just want to color out the eyes so I want the original eye color to

show... really to show the Reds and the red tones around the eye and around the

skin and since we're here let's just do the same with the lips we're gonna come

back and revisit the lips but for me it helps me visualize a little bit better

if we look at the original photo you'll notice that he's got some eyebrows here

but they're covered and on my face mine are a little bit too dominant so I

actually just wanted to get rid of my eyebrows completely what I want to do is

create a duplicate of the background so if I hit command or control J

that'll create a copy of that and this exactly what I want because I always

want to keep a copy of the original in this file just in case have to go back

for any reason so now that I've created a copy I want to take my patch tool and

basically just cut out the eyebrows so I'm just gonna draw around so just it's

good so we just want to clean it up we don't want any dark areas okay

And the same for here this is gonna be a little bit harder because my

eyebrows are actually touching my eyelid there in the photo... not in real life!

so same idea here it's gonna come out a bit darker but we'll manage it's fine,

So we just really want to blend that

If we turn that black and white layer off, it might be a little bit easier

that's pretty scary let's turn that back on it's freaking me out a bit

okay again just to help me visualize a little bit more I want to get some of

the other details in here I'm going to want to create a new layer above the

black-and-white layer and then I want to grab the brush tool let's make a little

bit bigger and I just want to get the color in for the hair

sure we're so underneath the black layer at the top here we've

created that mask and then we're gonna want I already have it set here but we're

gonna want to get a green fill, so I'm using RGB values 23 117 and 1 and it

gets a pretty good color so if we just paint directly on here we're just gonna

get that solid green so I'm just gonna do that, and I just want to fill in my hair

we are gonna switch it to overlay anyways you get overlay then you can see

about the green hair in there. so what I want to do this just because in the

original promo photo Had I prepared for the photo a little

bit better it would have covered my ears but I don't like my ears sticking out

there so much we gonna cover that part up so I just want to go back to this

top black layer and...

let's unlock it, click the mask and I just want to go back to the paintbrush

tool and I want to start... start covering up so let's change the color back to

white and then just start filling out these areas I'm going to increase the

brush here 1000 will try. okay and then let's just start filling in those areas

there you go that so let's now get black and that's

really show the hair color here, we'll need a smaller brush for that

you'll notice that as I expose some of the under layers I'm going back and I'm

just retouching those up to cover up more of the background because they don't want

that showing so the next thing that I want to do is find the blemishes on the

face and you want to start duplicating it so i've got this wrinkle right here and

basically what I want to do is go back to that background layer again I want to

duplicate that layer so command J I'm actually gonna rename this just so you

can just help us keep track of it so this was the eyebrow adjustments and

then this one is going to be, just call it wrinkles for now so let's take

this wrinkle right here and you just want to duplicate it

sorry guys we wanted first we're gonna wanna draw where where we're gonna want

to duplicate it so let's just draw another one let's bring that down so you

can see you've got that right there umm, and I'm actually going to try duplicating that

so hit command J and edit>transform>flip horizontal

first let's lock... sorry I selected the wrong layer because I have my

auto select turned on let's just lock any of the top layers that we're not using

anymore. let me go back and get this wrinkle and I'll just put it here and

we'll basically just want to grab the eraser tool and increase the size quite a bit

and make sure that hardness is dropped down and let's just start getting rid of

edges. there we go so it just helps it blend a little bit more. and then I

actually want to merge that with the wrinkles layer so let's make sure you select

that layer that we just create it and merge it with the wrinkles layer below so both are

selected, right-click and hit merge layers

so again using that same one let's grab some of those blemishes that are under

the eyes so one right there. again we're using the patch tool to do

this so let's just draw something on the face where you want to copy that over

and just drag it you can see we're creating those blemishes here

lets try and put something on the forehead, those wrinkles.

I just want to turn off this black-and-white again. So, when we do this we just want to make sure we get all the edges

blend it really well it is a blended the black and white

adjustment layer will help with that

okay perfect just turn the black-and-white layer back on

and what I want to do let's see if we can actually extend these wrinkles in

the forehead a little bit so I'm sure that we are selected and let's go down

here to the smudge tool and i've got it set to 12... lets make it a little bit bigger Let's see how we can stretch these out

so pay attention to what your strength this year I have it set to

thirty seven percent if I wanted to go trying to carry on I usually do it at

about 80 or 90 percent but sometimes that can be too far... so that's a bit too far

so let's take it down to about a 60 let's just drag it through. Trying to get it a little

to follow the outline of the forehead. as you can see we've got a bit of an

outline smudge there so I'm just gonna take that patch tool again

and just help blend that a bit

just blend the edges. alright let's work on the mouth next

we go down here let's create a new layer and grab the brush tool.

we need a smaller brush about the size of the lip. let's change the color to the red we

want to get a little bit darker red so this red is about d60000. so first I'll

just want to do a quick outline of these lips so if we went with a multiply well I think that's

perfect actually let's just carry it out a bit so the

reason why we're just getting the dark shade here instead of carrying

that red its because we're underneath the black and white adjustment layer

we will only created a mask for that area of the lip so let's actually just

move this lip layer above black and white layer and there we go

let's rename this to lips and while we're here let's rename the hair layer to hair

oh sorry guys this layer was renamed when we merge the

two layers, it automatically took the name of the top layer when we merged the

duplicated wrinkle that we made earlier on so again let's just take this red

let's bring it out so go back to the lips layer let's bring this red out a

little bit more on each side and basically what we're gonna want to

do... this doesn't have to be perfect I mean Joker's lips aren't perfect the

lipstick is smudged but what we're gonna want to do is if we zoom right in here we

can see just the edge of the lip, we want to copy that over. let's go back to that

wrinkles layer so basically what I want to do is... this will probably work better if

I turn the lip layer off, so what I'm doing here it's actually creating this

stitched look right here where it looks like it's scarred up and on the lips

going straight off the face really the approach that I'm using here

is taking the edge of the lip each side of the lip and just duplicating that

across the face and we'll get that stitched look. so let's just create

that piece again so we're just following...

so just taking details from the lip itself and carrying it through

you just gotta get a bit creative with this and

how you want to extend it.

So if you just turn that lips layer off you can see what you've created.

So now that you have that pattern we can actually just duplicate it all

so let's create that patch in that area so that's okay then

So that's ok there let's do the same on this side

let's turn those lips back on. perfect. okay so now that the lips are back on

let's grab the smudge tool.

and you want to drop it down (size) from 60...

lets drop it down to about 25% and just start smudging away you can play with this

You can play with the strength, you can jump it up, I'll jump it up to a 35%

so play around with your strength level when

Mine is looking a little bit feather-ish right now so what I want to do is

really swirl this around

his is also going straight off to the edge of the face so let's just

bring that over here

I mean that's looking OK right now let's go with that. if we duplicate that

lip layer, so Command J we'll see it get a little bit darker because we're all the

multiply layer effect. we could adjust the opacity but what I want to do here is

grab the blur tool. there it is. and lets just start blurring that. we're at

about 68% strength here. Then let's grab the smudge tool again and let's just

start smudging the second layer. we'll get some different tones in

alright so let's just take the opacity down a little bit with that, let's put it at

about an 80%. and that'll do. so now we want to bring out those scar

marks. so let's go back to that wrinkles layer

let's duplicate that layer so we have another copy. now let's grab our

Burn tool. so the Burn tool will just really darken up all of the details so

let's just increase the brush size there and let's start darkening. We really want

to darken up these blemishes and these wrinkles but the biggest thing we're

gonna want to do here is the eyes so how do we get the dark spots around

the eyes like the Joker has in this picture? well that's going to be done

using this Burn tool. so with that wrinkles copy, let's just start burning around

the eyes. just draw around the eyes. you'll have to click a few times. Same thing, let's do the other eye.

keep in mind when you look at the original photo here, it's not as

top-heavy as it is bottom heavy so we'll fix that let's

just get the dark shading there, the way we want it. make sure you get up here in the

corners and at the bottom so if we take a look at the layer effects

and we put this to multiply you can really see that darken up and

that's essentially what you want here. so now that we have that let's

create a clipping mask on that wrinkles layer and let's fill it black...

try that again, let's fill it black so that we're not exposing anything

now grab the brush tool, let's make it a little bit bigger let's make sure our color that we want

to be brushing is white and just start filling in around the eyes again we want

it we only want to expose the dark areas around the eyes we don't want to expose any

other area on the face. now that we have those

areas filled let's just clean up the top so you don't have as much as the top

part darkened. we just want that bottom and the sides really

dominating the dark spots on the face. so let's turn this back to black

and let's just start removing

if we compare that to this one, I think we're just missing a little bit too much on

this side but.. there we go. so let's just put a little bit more back

just above the eye. this could take some time to really perfect here but,

that's all we're doing. the other thing that we're gonna want to do is burn the

eyeball, the eye color so that it's just more of a black to a dark dark brown so we

should be able to achieve that just by filling in the eye, just making sure you've

got, from that original layer let's just make sure that part of the mask is

not filled in so that we're exposing the darkness there, what we do

really want to expose is those red areas, the veins and the eyelids here we want to

really stories about so let's just reduce the brush size here and turn it

back to the black and we actually want to get a really small brush here and

just make sure that the white and the pink and red areas are really exposed

so this eye is actually a pretty good thing that we have it what I want to do

here also is create the color correction so right above

the black and white adjustment layer let's create a

colour balance adjustment yeah let's bring out those Reds

same deal we want to fill the clipping mask black so we're not exposing everything

grab the brush tool get a slightly bigger size and start filling in

the eye area with the white because we want that red to stand out

so that can actually go down just a bit let's drop the opacity a little bit that works and

now that I look at this this eye needs to be blended a little bit more so let's grab

the wrinkles copy which we're gonna actually want to turn into (rename) black

spots and let's just start... Make sure you've got the clipping mask selected

let's just start filling that in just a little bit more natural.

let's use a smaller brush because the feather is taking up a bit too much space there

so really what I would do here is

let's try one thing if we duplicate the black spots they come and even blacker

so depending on how black you really want this we could do that

I'm going to keep that but I want to drop the opacity down quite a bit

... to 35% there. so you can see he's got a lot of like, his his eyes are pretty white

I think ours are a little bit too red so let's go in and let's just let's

turn that black spots copy off and go to the original one and let's just expose

some of the original eye on there and that way we'll get more of the white and

black in there I just want to get that white color out more so you don't want

to show more of the green so let's just make sure we keep that colored in

as much as you can, same with the other side here

you know what we're gonna turn off that color balance right now let's not use it

let's start off with the original again let's grab the smudge tool it depends on

the size of your photo but we want this to be really narrow streaks and let's

try 35% should be good. sorry lets jump the strength up to about

80% so jumping back to that mask not the image let's grab that smudge tool and

start... first if we look at the original image you can see where this is really

coming down towards the nose and there's almost like a spiderweb so let's just

try and create that here

we'll have to just switch back and forth from the image to the actual mask and

see where we need to start pulling from, or start smudging from

so again we still want it to look a little bit more natural so lets grab a bigger brush here

and just kind of smudge this down

sorry guys I am hitting command Z I just want to get the perfect streak there

which is why...

let's go take it back down to about seven and start

so let's turn that top black spot layer back on and lets see what we did here. that's

pretty good there. what we're gonna want to do now is actually expose the black and white

adjustment layer expose the the colored part of that in these areas so if we

take the brush tool again make sure you have a black and white unlocked

so a few things we can do let's actually drop the opacity of the

brush down to about a 25 and just kind of follow where we've done those wrinkles

just to get a bit more of that human tone in there

and then let's take the blur tool and it's just blur what we've done there

let's darken up some of those details the wrinkles layer

and let's take the burn tool again and let's just start

highlighting those areas. let's get that shadow under the nose

go in there that shadow is in the original image as well

so I actually think that we're probably going to want to take that

black and white adjustment layer and let's just see what a Gaussian Blur it looks like on that

yeah perfect actually that's exactly what I want right here

we're just exposing a little bit of the natural color

we've got it at about a 10 pixel radius. Hit OK. I think we need to add a couple more wrinkles to

the forehead here, so let's just go back to that wrinkles layer. so let's just

copy those wrinkles over basically take that patch tool again just outline where we want to place more

some more then just drag and see where we can take it from there. That's pretty good.

And we're going to want to do the same thing to the black and white adjustment layer

So let's draw around that wrinkle.

perfect so we're just exposing that color on

here so what I'm going to want to do is now that I'm looking at the original we

can see that his forehead wrinkles the original forehead wrinkles are not

as dominant as they are on ours so we're gonna want to lighten those up again so

basically all we're gonna want it to

is create a mask on that and grab the brush tool let's blow it up a bit

100 is good and make sure you've got the black color selected and our opacity is

at 25% so that's perfect so let's just start coloring over these so

they're less exposed

and I do think they need to be a little bit bigger so

I'm actually going to come back to this wrinkles layer

let's try seeing what this smudge tool will do for us again

so let's just make that a bit bigger let's just

try pulling them over but make sure you've got the right layer selected

so go back to those wrinkles and try and bring those over.

those are a little bit too dominant..

perfect um and then let's go back to that black

and white layer cause it's a bit too white. let's just try and take it down like 5%

to 95 and then we've got a little bit more that natural skin tone showing

take the sharpen tool that's what we need. so sharpen

and let's sharpen around the eyes so they really stand out

and let's sharpen the edges of the nose and let's sharpen all of those blemishes

sharpen... that's too much, once it starts getting grainy we know it's too much

so let's sharpen the scars here and sharpen the lips

we can sharpen the forehead a little bit so we are getting really grainy here and

that's okay because if we look at the original the original is quite grainy

it's part of the part of the texture of the skin so that's okay

And that's pretty much it.

How to EASILY SPROUT Lentils, Nuts & Seeds at Home | Growing Sprouts for Beginners | Tyler Health - Duration: 3:20.

Hey guys, it's Tyler and welcome back to my channel!

I wanted to make a video on sprouting lentils, nuts, seeds, legumes because it's something that I'm asked a lot.

I'm always telling people to sprout or at least soak their lentils nuts and seeds because they contain

Anti-nutrients like phytic acid in them, phytates are very acidic so when we consume them our bodies basically

Pull calcium out of our bones to neutralize the acids- causing bone and joint pain, arthritis

Cavities, many issues related to deficiency. Most people don't get enough calcium through their diet

So it's important that we keep the calcium that we do have also people that bloat or get gassy from beans

They can negate this from just soaking or sprouting. This intro is a little bit longer than usual, so let's just get into the video!

On this day I was spouting some French green lentils

But this process goes for all beans or legumes

You're going to add your choice of lentils or legumes into a bowl and cover with lots of filtered water

At least three times the amount because they are going to double in size

You are going to add a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or a large pinch of pink salt

Stir it around cover with the paper towel and let it sit on the kitchen counter overnight or about 7 to 8 hours

I'm going to put in the description box details about each grain, legume, nut, and seed & their soaking times.

The next morning or about 7 hours later, you will see that the lentils are rehydrated

And they doubled in size

You are going to strain and rinse the lentils and discard the soaking liquid

You can stop here and use these soaked lentils

but I like to take it a step further and

Sprout my lentils- to make sure I remove as much as the acids as I can.

Sprouting also increases the nutrients and the B vitamins, so that's always a plus and it is very easy to do.

You are going to just put your strained lentils back on the counter, covered

Until the next day where you should see little sprouts poking through

To further sprout these you're just going to rinse the lentils again and cover them as many times as needed to further sprout them

If your kitchen is warm you may want to rinse twice a day

But the point is just to keep the lentils moist so that they can sprout

Some people love to eat these raw tossed on salads which is amazing for you

You get all of those raw living nutrients- or you can lightly cook them as you normally would

I love soaking a bunch of black beans or lentils and putting them into little baggies and freezing them so that they're ready to go

Whenever I need them. They also cook much much faster. These lentils literally take 1 to 2 minutes in boiling water

I used to think that there was so much that went into soaking and sprouting, but honestly. It's very easy once you do it once

Thank you guys so much for watching. I hope you learned something from this video that you can implement into your kitchen

I've seen that when people start sprouting they get so excited because they see the sprouts starting to grow out of it

And it's you know you

Created that which is something pretty cool as always don't forget to subscribe

And give this video a thumbs up if you liked it, and I'll see you guys in the next one! :)

I also wanted to let you guys know me and my friends are doing a call of duty world

war 2 giveaway.

All you gota do is subscribe to me and follow me on Twitter to get your first couple of

entries in.

Then click the link down below and get as many entries in as you can to have a higher

chance to win.

I've already made a video on this glitch before but this video is a update video because the

glitch is done differently now, because the patches treyarch put out.

So it's the unlimited skull of nan swape and it's the best glitch on black ops 3 zombies

right now and it's always guna be so let's waste no more time and get straight into.

You guys can legit earn over 2 million XP because I did collect the amount of XP and

rounds and it's just over 2 million XP.

So some people were confused about this glitch because the method has changed.

But the method changed for the better, it's even easier than before.

So the old method still work which I'll show later but it's very weird at times.

sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, I legit have no idea what I'm doing wrong

but this new method is way easier, simpler, and better in every way possible.

So all you gota do is obtain the skull of nan swape which is really easy to do and if

you don't know how to I'll have a link to a video down below.

Once you got the skull all you gota do is pull out the skull by pressing L1 and R1 then

quickly pull out a grenade and instantly press triangle.

So press R1 and L1 to pull out the skull then press R1 to pull out a grenade and quickly

press triangle.

You wana do all these steps fast but not to fast to the point where the skull disappears.

Now If done correctly the skull counter should be a 0 and from here all you gota do is drain

out the skull meter until it stops working.

Once the meter is drained and skull doesn't work no more all you gota do is kill a zombie

by knifing it.

I would recommend having the Bowie knife for this step because without it, we know it's

guan take a bunch of knife stabs to kill a zombie.

Once you killed a zombie by knifing it just get your skull counter to 100% and that's

it you've got the unlimited skull of nan swape way.

Make sure you don't let go of the R2 button once you've held it down to get the skull

to 100%.

That's really important.

DO NOT LET GO OFF THE R2 BUTTON UNTIL THE SKULL REACHES 100%.

But the glitch isn't over yet and I'll get to the next part of the glitch after my skull

reaches 100%.

So once you reach 100% you guys gota open the cog room and ahh I'm sorry because I should

of put this part of the glitch before because you gota open the secret cog room before getting

the unlimited skull.

But anyways, to open the cog room all you gota do is memsize this paper that's on the

wall and then after that just make your way over to the elevator and memsize this Wall.

make sure you do this before getting the unlimited skull.

Now once you got the unlimited skull and the cog room open, just line yourself up against

the wall like me and that's it.

No zombies, spiders or thrashers are guna be able to touch you.

Now this is the best part about the glitch.

You can unlimited XP by being afk.

You can go eat sleep or even go play outside.

Just leave your controller by putting a rubber band on the right trigger and just leave it

there.

You guys can come back after hours and hours and you'll still be gaining XP, getting to

really high rounds.

You guys can even get tons of liquids.

Just spend points every 5-7 rounds and you'll be granted liquid diviniums.

I also wanted to show you guys the old method which still works but for some reason it glitches

out and takes the skull away from you after a couple rounds sometimes.

I wouldn't recommend this method but you guys can use it on your own risk.

So here's the clip from my older video.

The first thing you Wana do is get the skull of nan sapwe and if you don't know how to

get the skull I'll have a link to a vid down below.

after you have obtained the skull walk into a spore.

While your coughing because the spore exploded just press triangle, triangle or y,y.

Pressing y,y will freeze the skulls meter.

This might take a couple attempts to get it right, the first time I tried it I messed

up , i don't know what I did wrong but it didn't work.

Some people spam y but that's not what you Wana do all you have to do is press y,y like

your switching your weapons back.

Most people spam it and get it wrong so make sure you don't make that mistake.

Once you have got the meter frozen, just mezmarise the zombies and if you guys don't know how

to do that just left trigger them.

Left trigger the zombies until your skull counter is at 5 and at 5 just vaporize the

zombies.

How do you vaporize?

Just right trigger them.

After vaporizing the skull should be at a 0.

For the next step it would be helpful if you have a Bowie knife Becuase you have to kill

one zombie by using your Melee or with a windows wine grenade.

After doing all these steps you should have the skull for unlimited time if done correct.

But some people mess up by letting go of the vaporize button.

Have the vaprozie button held down until your skull has reached 100 percent.

Once you reached 100 you can let go but don't let the skull go all the way down to a 0.

If the skull does reach 0 then your guna lose the unlimited skull and the whole XP Glitch

is guna go to shit.

So that's the old method which is really weird to use because sometimes it works and sometimes

it doesn't.

You guys could use that method but I wouldn't recommend it.

I would just stick with the first method I showed because it easier to do.

This is the best glitch to get unlimited XP and very high rounds.

You guys can legit earn over 2 million XP because I did collect the amount of XP you

get.

Now Make sure you guys take advantage of this glitch before treyarch decide to patch it

but I doubt they will.

But guys Once I'm done talking I'm play some more gameplay of the actual glitch so you

know this glitch is all legit.

Now If this video helped in anyway make sure to titty snack that like button and subscribe

button.

I really hope you guys enjoyed and don't forget to enter the giveaway.

All you gota do is drop a comment saying what giftcard you want, subscribe and turn on notifications

so you know when I upload and a like is always appreciated.

This is been your boy BSP and I'm out peace.

How the world of Blade Runner 2049 was created | Production Design [No Spoilers] - Duration: 19:43.

Hello Cinephiles!

Well, here it is-- an R-rated 150 million dollar sequel to one of the greatest science

fiction movies ever made.

When I heard they were making a sequel, I was like, 'The only way that would work

is if they got Denis Villeneuve, Roger Deakins, Hampton Fancher, Harrison Ford, and Ryan Gosling.'

Well here we are.

I think what's most exciting about revisiting the Blade Runner universe is the universe itself.

What does Los Angeles look like 30 years after the events of the original film?

What do people wear?

How has the culture changed?

And most importantly, how did the crew make this future seem real on film?

This is the production design of Blade Runner 2049 on Making Film...

Now, a sequel to Blade Runner was in development as far back as 1999, as well as a prequel,

but let's skip ahead a bit.

It was just before Ridley Scott was about to begin production on Prometheus in 2011

that he had a three-hour dinner with Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, the heads of Alcon

Entertainment, a production company that had spent the previous year securing the rights

to a Blade Runner sequel (Wired).

Scott had reportedly said that he had been waiting for a meeting on a Blade Runner sequel

for "35 years" (Wired).

Shortly after, Scott contacted Hampton Fancher— the first screenwriter for the original film—

and asked him if he would like to meet with Scott in London to discuss ideas.

Fancher had been writing a short story that he would eventually turn into a treatment

for a possible Blade Runner follow-up.

The protagonist of the short story was very similar to what would eventually become Officer K,

played in the film by Ryan Gosling.

The treatment was given to a writer named Michael Green, who would later work on

"American Gods, Logan, Alien: Covenant, and Murder on the Orient Express" and he, Hampton Fancher,

and Ridley Scott wrote the screenplay (Wired).

When it became apparent that Scott would be unavailable to direct the film, Johnson and

Kosove went to Denis Villenueve, who had directed some of the greatest films this decade including:

Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, and later, the Best Picture Nominee Arrival.

Kosove had worked as a producer on Villenueve's abduction thriller Prisoners and thought that

he would be best suited to evoke the mood that 2049 would require.

Kosove said, "Blade Runner is always put in the sci-fi genre, but we really think it's

more of a noir movie… and if you look at Prisoners and Sicario, you know there isn't

a filmmaker today doing better noir than Denis" (Wired).

Villenueve passed on the job because he had just finished Sicario and would be starting

Arrival shortly after and he was hesitant to jump into yet another film directly after Arrival.

He also wasn't sure about the idea all together citing that trying to make a sequel to one

of his favorite films would be [quote] "a super-bad idea," but he reconsidered after

Kosove and Johnson offered to work with his schedule.

Villenueve stated in an interview, "I said to myself, 'If there's a moment where

I'm going to do a movie of this scale, it needs to be something that matters to me" (Wired).

He thought that the only way to make the movie was to accept that it was just a gesture of

love toward the original, but he knew that it would always be compared to the one that

came before it (GMA).

Seeing as Blade Runner 2049 takes place thirty years after the original, what needed to evolve

the most was the world that Blade Runner is set in.

In the original, we can already see an extreme class separation, the dirt and grime of the

city, the pollution, but what would happen to Los Angeles thirty years from this?

And how would this reflect on our current world?

The script was a good start, but it could only go so far.

They still had to come up with every little detail of the world that would appear on the

screen to make us believe the story.

Roger Deakins: "I mean, I think the look of a film is an organic process.

It's not something-- you can't read a script and then something just comes into

your head, I think."

Ridley Scott had said, "Science fiction is a very special form of auditorium…

It's a theater, a box, within which anything goes— but you'd better draw up the guide

lines and the rule book before you begin.

Otherwise, you end up with nonsense" (Wired).

Villeneuve says that it was good working with Ridley Scott because he was far away.

Scott met with Villeneuve and told him his inspirations for the first movie, the ideas

behind it, but he stressed that it was Villeneuve's movie and that he would only be there if Villeneuve

needed him (Comic Con Panel).

Denis Villeneuve, cinematographer Roger Deakins, and two storyboard artists spent weeks closed

off in a hotel room in Montreal dreaming up the world of 2049 and how to display it.

Villeneuve had said that it was in these meetings that the style of Blade Runner 2049 was born.

Villeneuve was fond of using a pencil for concept art over a computer, because this

way, he could simplify the process to a few people in a room discussing and drawing ideas.

Together, they created a bible of storyboards, sketches, and aesthetic concepts that they

would use to make the movie (GMA, AFI).

They hired Dennis Gassner to do the production design for the film.

Gassner actually has an interesting connection to the original Blade Runner.

In 1981, he had worked on Francis Ford Coppola's film One From the Heart that created an opulent

musical version of Las Vegas.

The film used many many neon lights for the production and, after production had wrapped,

Gassner met with Ridley Scott who was looking to use some neon lights for Blade Runner.

Scott was blown away by the sheer amount of lights that were available and this access

is largely responsible for a realization of the neon noir feel that would cement itself

in the cyberpunk aesthetic (WSJ Dystopian Future).

Before starting on the production design, Gassner asked Villeneuve if there was a single

word he could use to describe the essence of the film.

Villeneuve replied, "Brutality" (WSJ Dystopian Future).

With that in mind, Gassner created a wall that would be the

visual story of the film's narrative (WSJ Dystopian Future).

They wanted to make sure that the production design both reflected and expanded upon the

original film while maintaining a natural progression of its cinematic world.

Villeneuve said, "We used elements from the first movie with humility and tried to

find a strength in them.

But this movie has its own personality" (LA Times).

And aside from story, this was the biggest challenge of the film.

Art director Paul Inglis mentioned that they tried to evoke something familiar for the

audience and then slightly diverge into new territory (Featurette).

There are several allusions to other parts of the world in the original Blade Runner

despite never seeing them.

"A new life awaits you in the off-world colonies."

I'd imagine you're like me and wondered what the off-world colonies look like or what

lies beyond the city.

This is an opportunity to imagine what about the world is different

than what we've already seen.

Denis Villeneuve: "It's a huge challenge because you don't want to cut and paste

otherwise, why?

And at the same time, you have to respect what was done, so you've got to

find the right equilibrium."

And it wasn't just the new blood expanding this world, Villeneuve managed to bring back

the legendary Syd Mead who did much of the concept art for the original Bade Runner.

There is a scene where K is walking toward the city ruins draped in a yellow-orange dust

that Syd Mead was responsible for.

Villeneuve said, "For me, it was important to have one moment where Syd Mead would express himself…

I had the chance to meet the master and ask him to give me the gift

to create a specific place.

And when I saw his drawings, I was so moved" (LA Times).

In an interview, Syd Mead said, "Working on Blade Runner 2049 was a completely new inventive

challenge, which I relished.

I mean, having worked on the original with Ridley Scott in pre-production and post-production,

this new involvement was a professionally thrilling way of 'bracketing' my Blade

Runner design history.

It was an entirely new project" (filmschoolrejects).

Society in the Blade Runner universe doesn't seem to have gotten any better

in the past 30 years.

Ryan Gosling said, "The power of science fiction, and what's positive about it… is that

you're able to experience the worst-case scenario without actually having to live it" (Wired).

We get a certain catharsis in seeing this bleak future, because it makes our world seem

like it isn't so bad and it helps us process what upsets us about our own surroundings (Wired).

The question is: are we getting closer?

In 2049, many people live in box-like homes that were inspired by Hong Kong's real-life

housing units called "coffin cubicles" (LA Times).

These pictures from National Geographic are of real life living spaces in Hong Kong.

Tech is ramping up and we already have some of the futuristic devices we've seen in

the original film.

And with much talk of the direction of Artificial Intelligence we can see the themes of these

films having possible literal interpretations as well.

Pollution and climate issues depicted in the film also seem to give a certain validation

to the predictions based on the current trend of climate issues today.

We see a massive seawall to prevent rising oceans from flooding LA-- something that is

being debated even now (Wired).

The rain is a defining feature of the original Blade Runner and one that has had a widespread

impact on later films.

Ridley Scott said, "At first I was amused by the fact that Blade Runner was an influence…

Then I got fed up with seeing pouring rain onscreen" (Wired).

The crew of 2049 couldn't just take the rain from the first film and apply it to the

sequel for the sake of getting that "Blade Runner look."

The progression of climate issues and pollution over 30 years has had an effect on the weather

and the film reflects that.

We see an LA strangely covered in snow.

This also has its roots in the personal experience of Denis Villeneuve.

The Canadian director said, "As much as the first movie had an atmosphere of constant

rain, in this one it would be colder…

Basically, you could say that the first movie was made by a man from London, England, and

the second one was made by someone from Montreal, Canada" (LA Times).

Denis Villeneuve: "When you are- when I'm working with someone else's story, I always

try to find an intimate way to get into the story.

I have to create an intimate link.

And one of them, it's going to sound trivial for you, but it was huge for me aesthetically,

it was the climate and the screenplay was different than the first movie.

It was more like there was the idea that there will be snow.

There will be- winter will be present.

And I mean, as a Canadian, there's one thing I know about."

Villeneuve grew up in a small rural town in Quebec, Canada where they would often get

[quote] "six or seven months of snow" (Wired).

He felt that the weather was a good starting point for the creation of Los Angeles in 2049

and it also very much reflected on his aesthetic theme of brutality.

He said, "The only violence I got in my life was winter… and weather helped me figure

out this movie a lot.

I started from the premise that the ecosystem has collapsed, and I started to build

a new Los Angeles" (Wired).

He also had a nuclear power plant visible from his parents' kitchen window

growing up (Wired).

According to Villeneuve, snow has a such a strong impact on the light and atmosphere.

Denis Villeneuve: "To approach Ridley's universe through the lens of something that

is so familiar to me, it helped me to define what I will keep from the first and what I

will end and what create different to make it my own."

Ridley Scott had shot much of The Martian just outside Budapest at the Korda Studios

and suggested the location to the 2049 crew.

The nearly 100-day shoot started in Budapest during the summer of 2016 where the production

had control of ten sound stages (Wired).

If you've seen my video on the original Blade Runner, you might remember that much

of it was shot on the same backlot causing the crew to move things around and use clever

angles to make it appear like more than one location.

Here, it seems that the 2049 crew had much more room to create and Korda Studios is home

to one of the world's biggest sound stages at 6,000 square meters

and a height of 20 meters (kordastudio).

The scale is pushed to such an insane degree that, the original Blade Runner seems more

like a familiar home-like place, whereas the city in 2049 feels like you can easily get

lost in just the sheer scope of it.

Outside the large studio facilities, Budapest itself had several interesting locations to

shoot the world of 2049.

There were many [quote] "long dormant power stations" that were used in the film and

the "Vintage Casino" K finds Deckard in was actually shot in Budapest's famous

Stock Exchange Building (WSJ, welovebudapest).

Villeneuve said, "It's a world that is quite bleak and dark and claustrophobic, but

I tried to find an equilibrium with explosions of color that would express some emotions

and some themes…

The color yellow is very important in the movie

and is linked with different aspects, story-wise." (LA Times).

If I had to guess just after seeing the movie once, I would say that the color yellow represents

K's quest for truth.

Yellow seems to show up whenever he makes another break-through

in the mystery of he is.

Let me know in the comments what you think yellow represents in the movie.

Villeneuve wanted the look of the film to feel like a natural progression from the original,

which is why they used limited computer animation (WSJ).

Roger Deakins said, "So many science fiction films all look the same, because the effects

are done by rote…

We were desperate to create our own world" (Wired).

In fact, some of the most stunning special effects didn't use computer animation at all.

For example, we see a progression in the advertising that littered the city in the original film

in the form of a giant holographic woman that seems to interact with K. On the effect,

Villeneuve said, "We constructed the bridge on the set, filled the stage with rain and fog, and

we projected the actress on that gigantic screen…

So the impact of the light is all real — it's not something created by a computer"(LA Times).

It's things like this that caused him to admit that 2049 was by far the most difficult

shoot he has ever done (GMA).

Looking out Deckard's windows, the hazy high-rises are actually [quote]

"towering illustrated backdrops that wrap around the stage" (Wired).

Villeneuve said, "We were constructing an apartment, and we constructed the buildings

on the other side of the street.

We constructed the city landscape with models.

Fantastic light patterns that would imitate the lights of buildings in the fog…

I can count on one hand how often I saw a green screen on set.

Because the way we worked, we tried to enhance the images with CGI, and trying to use as

little as possible the green screens.

They're there, sometimes, but not a lot.

It's really what's in the background, far away, that is computer generated most of the time.

There are shots with prominent CGI, but I tried to avoid that as much as possible - even

the aerial shots, I tried to have real elements, real landscapes" (denofgeek).

The sets were meant to be as real for the actors as possible.

When first approached, Ryan Gosling had asked if the whole movie was going to be shot

in front of a green screen.

Green screen has its place if needed, but when possible, it's always better for everyone

working on the movie if the set can be as physically real as possible.

As Villeneuve puts it, "you need to allow the space for the actors to find new ideas

on the set" (LA Times).

Villeneuve said, "We had a lot of technological challenges during this movie, but we also

had the power of computers.

I wanted this power — the technicality of the movie — to be in the background,

not in the foreground.

In the foreground I wanted humanity.

I wanted the actor in the center of my focus.

I wanted to give them everything as much as possible to inspire them.

So we built all the sets first, constructed all the vehicles, did all the rain and the

snow and the fog with practical effects.

All the streets, all the exteriors — we constructed everything.

There's a scene where you see a Spinner … inside a penthouse — that was real.

It's a nice blend of a very old passionate approach and high-end technology.

I feel that CGI is very strong when it's helping reality, helping real shots.

But to start just from CGI is a challenge and not something I wanted to do" (Time).

Ryan Gosling: "You know, these sets were fully functioning worlds.

I think trick for me was just to not be impressed by it on camera."

Gosling can fully interact with the space because the space seems real and I imagine

this must help the cinematography as well.

New ideas can arise on set and you can roll with it instead of being bound to something

that happened during pre-production.

Villeneuve had said that some of his favorite moments in the film are from ideas that Gosling

had during the shoot (Talks at Google).

When it came to action, the aim was to keep from being [quote] "too Marvel" in that

it shouldn't be flashy and fun, but as Villeneuve puts it: "more simple, more brutal" (Wired).

We can see this in the opening scene, which

was actually written by Fancher for the original Blade Runner.

Villeneuve approached the production design more as a period movie than a science fiction movie.

In the age in which we live, so much is happening, as he says, "in the abstract" (Talks at Google).

So much is happening within cyberspace and outside of physical space, but you can't

really have a noir film in which the protagonist just sits at a computer.

Fancher devised a way to set the film further in the future while still removing this aspect—

before the events of the film, an electro-magnetic pulse would destroy much of the digital and

force the protagonist back out into the world to meet people, find clues, and travel to

new locations (Talks at Google).

The charm of the original was in all of the analogue grit.

The wires, the weird sounds and clutter of it all evokes that special feeling.

"Hello?"

Between Alien and Prometheus, this certain charm was lost.

You could explain it as being a blue-collar vessel versus a sleek high-expense vessel.

I must say, I'm loving all of these new weapons and devices.

We can see how the idea of brutality can be applied to familiar pieces of the original Blade Runner.

Just look at the update to the Spinner, which was actually the first thing they designed (WSJ).

Production designer Dennis Gassner said, "We wanted the vehicles to have a more chiseled,

angular, graphic strength…

It's a harsher world than the first film, both environmentally and stylistically" (Wired).

They made several versions of the Spinner 2.0— some were drivable and some were exclusively

for flying effects (LA Times).

It's interesting that, in a world where animals are extremely rare, a lot of the costumes

use furs, feathers, and leather.

The cultural reason is likely that, since animals are rare, clothes would seem more

high-end or expensive if they appeared to be fur, feathers, or leather, whereas it is

obvious that it would have to be artificial.

Renée April designed the costumes for the film.

She said that she had started by sketching a lot of crazy outfits for the people of the future,

but Villeneuve had her pivot and stated that the costumes had to be more simple (NY Times).

April recognized how the brutality of the world would have an impact on the outfits

of its inhabitants saying, "It's snowing, freezing, pollution everywhere.

There is no fashion.

We had to be humble" (NY Times).

She's a big fan of the original and had also mentioned to keep an eye out for a few

nods to the original costumes— like a transparent raincoat (NY Times).

The new Blade Runner faux leather and faux fur-lined coat that April designed was actually

[quote] "made of cotton fabric laminated before construction;" April said, "so

the rain would not kill it."

She then used paint to add texture and weather it (NY Times).

We can see in this sketch how it shares similarities to Deckard's original Blade Runner coat.

Mariette is most similar to Pris and evokes an image of a wilted flower with her feathers

and hat degraded by the weather.

April said, "The oversized hat and coat are just another reflection of that world,

everybody hiding themselves… they wear big masks, big collars to hide their faces.

The sleeves are long and hide the hands.

I don't know, maybe it's a reflection on our world today" (NY Times).

Continuing the Japanese influence is Joi— seemingly influenced by manga

and sometimes a geisha style.

Joi has about 25 separate costumes in the film (NY Times).

Niander Wallace wears a Kimono and his fitting was much easier than the 25 for Joi.

Jared Leto did only one costume fitting for the character and it was just a couple of

days before shooting.

April said, "I put it on him, I loved it, and that was that" (NY Times).

The idea behind Wallace was that he does not go out, so April designed a pajama-like uniform

that she imagined he'd have several of hanging in his closet.

She wanted the design to reflect the design of his home, simple and empty (NY Times).

Villeneuve initially wanted David Bowie for the role before he died in early 2016.

He had said that Bowie had an influence on the original Blade Runner and wanted to [quote]

"acknowledge that legacy" (Vice).

Jared Leto wears contacts in the film, which adds a very interesting take on the eye motif

of the franchise.

These contacts made Leto completely blind on set, which he says helped his performance,

but he never saw the actors he was performing with (Tonight Show).

Luv, Wallace's right hand, was designed to contrast the gray filth of the world.

She wears [quote] "off-white suits with clean lines" making her look angelic (NY Times).

But, as April says, the gray makes its way into her outfit over the course of the film—

her wardrobe begins to fall apart as her composure does.

April designed the outfits from stretchy material so that, when Luv fights, the outfits maintain

their clean lines and again, the outfits are very simple and modest— as April says,

"no details, no frills" (NY Times).

Gör ditt eget Boraxslime + Mitt försök till H2O2-slime - Duration: 10:11.

Hello, and welcome back to projects and experiments!

Today we're gonna be doing slime

using two different methods.

We'll be using school glue in both cases.

The first method is going to utilise

a chemical called Borax,

or sodium tetraborate.

The second method will be using hydrogen peroxide.

Let's get started,

with the Borax slime.

Well... how are we gonna do this. We will need

school glue which contains

one of two chemicals, it's a bit unclear.

Anyway, it's either polyvinyl acetate

or polyvinyl alcohol.

And this is a polymer.

Between these polymer chains we'll be able to incorporate so called

cross-linkings, and that's

the thing that Borax helps with.

So, what we will need is glue,

Borax and water.

I think we should use this entire thing.

Now when we have

our glue in that beaker,

we'll add an equal amount of water.

There we go.

Then,

we'll be using a saturated solution of Borax.

Let's mix Borax and water.

I'm adding an excess now.

I think that should be sufficient.

And now we have decanted

the saturated solution

of Borax

From the rest of the crystals.

There's only one thing remaining:

mixing them together!

Very liquid as you can see.

There's just no chance that I would be able to grab a chunk of this

That is if I tried (which I actually am)

Let's mix them

and see what happens

I'll start mixing with the spoon and then get on with the hands.

As you can see it's starting to thicken.

Decanting a little bit more...

Slime soon, but I think we have to work with it a little bit more.

And now...

A little bit like cheese actually.

Let's do this.

If we take it in this plastic bag

and knead it there.

Wonderful!

As you can see

this is pretty

slimey right now.

And it's not that much

but still.

It's actually a non-newtonian fluid.

Which entails that you can break it

and let it flow together again.

So frickin' cool.

Oops.

Here's some speed-up footage of the slime flowing out in a beaker.

Another thing you can try

is to directly add glue to the Borax solution,

meaning you won't be diluting it before.

Perhaps it's even better.

And if you so desire

it's possibe to pull out individual worms

or even entire bowel systems...

... metaforically speaking... of course.

The main thing is the reaction

And it probably doesn't

matter that much if you empty out an entire bottle directly in the borax solution.

You'll probably get similar results.

I actually thought this method was way easier

although the final products were basically the same.

In total we got this much slime.

Using 2 bottles of glue.

When you're done with it

it can be put in a little glass jar

and there you can store it

and take it out when you want.

And now: slime numbah twoooh!

We'll be using the same glue

and som e hydrogen peroxide.

I've never tried this before

and I've also never seen anyone try.

So we'll see what happens,

but, theoretically, I think that it should work the same way.

Some quick chemistry now!

Why do I think tis will work?

You are now looking at the structural formula for polyvinyl acetate:

the active ingredient in...

that glue.

And there

is a three-demensional structural formula for hydrogen peroxide.

What I think will ocurr is the following:

Hydrogen peroxide decomposes

at 150.2 Celsius.

So along with the ascending temperature

it'll be like a pair of scissor here.

And then we'll get 2 free OH-radicals

that, hopefully, will rip of a hydrogen atom,

hopefully one of those

three, if my assumtion is correct.

So that we'll get H2C there

and the same thing with some other polymer chain

which should mean that this carbon will be able to create a covalent cross-linking

with another polymer chain,

thus getting the exact same effect here

as we got with the Borax slime.

In conclusion:

we're gonna mixe the school glue

with

Hydrogen peroxide, and then we'll heat it up to

roughly 150,2 Celsius

thereby decomposing the H2O2 into free OH-radicals

that will steal a Hydrogen atom

that will enable

the bonding between that carbon atom and another one from another chain.

Now we're getting down to busines.

Since I haven't done this before I'm guessing

a 50/50 mixture would

be an OK starting point.

The idea is

to bring this mixture to a boil

and decompose the H2O2

ant that's why we're using quite a bit of H2O2

because this is only a 12% solution.

So we want to up the concentration

first so that we can

get it up to a sufficient temperature for decomposition. So let's mix them,

wait,

and see what happens.

I'm starting to hear a little bit of bubbeling.

Yeah.

Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap...

Oops!

Please... stay there!

OK, so it's boiling now.

Pleeeeease!

F**k! Well that wasn't the best thing that happened today.

But what if we can make slime of that.

Is this the polymer?

So I transferred everything

to that beaker.

And this is the remainder.

Some more time has passed.

I think it's a little slimey.

But is it caused by the actuall cross-linkings

that the H2O2

has, supposedly, created

or is it just the natrual behavior of the glue

when it is boiled down.

Here I thought the concentration of H2O2 was high enough to

increase the temperature to 150 degrees

so therefore I put the hotplate to max.

Hopefully,

at max heat,

some cross-linkings have been created.

Wow that's slimey!

If it truely is cross-linkings

we should be able to put it in water

and still have the same concistency.

If it was possible with the Borax slime

it shoud be possible here to.

*cough* Ew!

And now everything

is in water. I actually think is possible

that we've made slime

this way. It's obviously not useful,

in fact

quite unpleasant.

So that was everything for this time

Hope you liked it! If you did, then make sure to hit that like button!

Please also leave a comment where you write what you think happened.

And if you think the last experiment was sucessful.

I'll see you next time!

Hello! I am Teri Hedding,

President of the Illinois Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (IRID).

IRID supports interpreters

by improving their skills through resources,

support, networking,

educational opportunities and workshops.

Interpreters should thank the Deaf community

for the opportunity to be involved in such a rapidly expanding field of work.

Interpreters are now part of a professional field just like teachers, doctors, and lawyers!

The Deaf community should thank professional interpreters too!

Without interpreters, how would the Deaf community communicate with their doctors?

How will they learn from their teachers in mainstreamed programs?

How would they meet with their bosses at work?

Interpreters and the Deaf community need to stop existing on their own

and come together in partnership.

But I need your help.

We're asking those of you in the interpreting field

like freelancers, staff interpreters, educational interpreters,

seasoned interpreters, students, and new interpreters

along with members of the Deaf community;

Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and Late-Deafened, to give us feedback!

IRID is planning to have a retreat

this fall, November 2017.

The purpose is to create a two-year plan

that incorporates your feedback to ensure the Deaf community

is pleased with the services provided by interpreters.

Please, submit your ideas and suggestions
