Youtube News: Youtube daily report w Oct 3 2017

What's up everybody, this is Master Ian Gamer and today I'm going to go over some

of the evidence we have so far with regards to the 2017 Halloween event, including datamined

items and confirmed upcoming skins, as well as why I believe tomorrow, October 3rd is

when we'll see the first official teaser for the event itself.

So to start, let's take a look back to the 2017 Summer Games datamine.

Yes that's right, even back in June there was evidence of new hero items for Halloween.

These were listed at the time as being part of Event 8, which makes sense given that Halloween

Terror 2017 will be the 8th Overwatch event since the game's release.

The heroes who were listed as getting an Event 8 item were Tracer, Hanzo, Reinhardt, Bastion,

Symmetra, Genji, McCree, Junkrat, Soldier: 76, D.Va, and Sombra.

Now, as exciting as this might sound, I going to have to pull the brakes at this point.

Just because these heroes each had an item listed for this event doesn't mean that

it will be a skin.

It could be a skin, but it could also be a spray or emote.

If you remember from the 2017 Summer Games event, every hero got at least one item, although

many of those were just voice lines.

So, as exciting as this sounds it unfortunately isn't really giving us any new information.

And on top of that, datamined information isn't always the end all be all that people

often consider it.

The Summer Games datamine listed Junkrat and Hanzo as getting two items each, when in actuality

they got three.

Ana was listed as getting three items, but only actually got two.

I'm not sure exactly why people never address this, but just because the information comes

from within the game itself, doesn't guarantee everything.

Even something as officially regarded as datamining can in fact be misleading.

However, some information which is quite a bit more credible are the words that came

straight out of Jeff Kaplan's mouth, or, rather from his forum account.

And this info is that Hanzo and Zarya have confirmed upcoming skins.

We don't know any of the specifics for exactly what these skins will be or even when they'll

come out, but back in April, Jeff posted on the Overwatch forums that "Hanzo has 3 amazing

legendary skins in production right now" and that "Zarya has two skins in production.

One is awesome.

The other is beyond awesome."

We got one of the skins for each of them during the Anniversary event, meaning that Zarya

still has one coming, and Hanzo still has two.

Now, I do want to clear up a misconception I've been hearing a lot recently, which

is that these remaining three skins are confirmed to be coming out before the end of 2017.

As far as I could find, neither Jeff nor any other Blizzard staff member ever went on record

saying this.

If somebody does have a source for this, then please feel free to provide a link to it in

a comment below.

Given that we don't know exactly how far in advance Blizzard starts working on content

for events, the fact that a skin was being worked on last April, doesn't guarantee

we'll see it anytime soon.

Again, I hate that I keep dashing everyone's hopes and dreams, but it's better than getting

lead on to expect a skin for either of these two, only for them to potentially not get

one when the event starts.

That being said though, I would love it if they both got one.

There's a couple skin ideas I've heard for them in particular which I'm super duper

on board with.

Anyways, moving onto more positive speculation, I'm sure all of you have seen the Halloween

start date leak which appeared this past weekend.

Real quick in case you haven't seen it yet, on Reddit an image of what appears to be an

instore poster advertising the event, along with what we expect is the event's official

start date.

October 10th matches up with the same Tuesday the event started last year, so it seems incredibly

likely that this is when it'll start this year.

However, more immediately exciting is the fact that tomorrow, October 3rd, we'll almost

definitely see an official teaser for the event get Tweeted out by Blizzard.

All the past recent events have had a Twitter teaser one week prior to the event, sometimes

even showing off one or two of the new skins.

So if you're watching this before October 3rd, make sure to keep your eyes glued to

Twitter tomorrow, and expect the Tweet to come out around 12:00 pm Pacific Time.

I'll show some alternate time zone equivalents on screen for those of you outside the US.

If there isn't a teaser tomorrow, well then heck if I know.

I'd be just my luck to have Blizzard make me look like a fool twice this year.

But, in the likely case that the teaser does show up, be sure to check back on my channel

for my complete thoughts and analysis of it, as well as further predictions for the event

itself.

I've already made two videos about the 2017 Halloween event.

One giving my initial predictions for the content we'll see, and the other debunking

a supposed leak that came out a little while back.

How RAID: World War II Is Censored In Germany - Duration: 6:20.

Raid: World War 2, a co-op World War 2 shooter with close ties to the Payday series, is the

latest game to be censored in Germany due to Nazi content.

German law outlaws the promotion of unconstitutional symbols such as swastikas, unless they are

used for things such as education or artistic purposes.

Whilst showing symbols such as these are fine in movies, due to them being seen as artistic,

games so far have not been given the same distinction.

Due to this, all swastikas in the German version have been altered to the design shown here.

Furthermore, whilst games such as Sniper Elite 4 have shown us that Germany does allow depictions

of Hitler to be shown, as well as the use of terms such as "Nazi", it seems that the

developers of Raid: World War 2 chose to take the better safe than sorry approach when it

came to these things.

You see, in the English versions, are many cutscenes showing none other than Adolf Hitler

himself.

These cutscenes used real life actors and were completely redone for the German version,

so that the actor is no longer depicting Hitler.

Here's an example of how the scenes were altered, first up being the English version.

And then the German release.

It wasn't just Hitler who was removed though, the German version also removes many Nazi-related

dialogue.

Whilst this was normally simply changed for the German version, sometimes the devs handled

this differently.

Again, first

the English release.

Likely due to the costs involved in hiring famous actor John Cleese, the dev's beeped

out dialogue and even added black censor boxes to his cutscenes.

John plays the control office leader and has quite a few cutscenes in the game.

The dev's were actually quite intuitive in how they managed to get around censoring some

of the scenes though.

As shown here, in this behind the scenes footage, where possible they used green screens so

that they could alter the German version, without things like obstructive black boxes.

There was also no censorship to any of the game's violence or any other types of content

over in Germany.

Again though, as other games have shown, removing dialogue referencing Hitler or even showing

Hitler himself isn't needed as long as the prohibited symbols such as swastikas are not

used.

Censored Gaming is always keeping a close eye on how devs handle these matters over

in Germany and you'll also be able to find a link in the description to a video that

goes into much more detail about the censorship of Nazi content over in Germany.

To finish, though, let's take a look at a few more of the censored Hitler scenes and

the differences between the German and English versions.

Making Harley Quinn's Club Dress-Suicide Squad | Part 2 - Duration: 11:32.

I've sewn the dress full together now. Here is is hanging.

I'm going to go ahead and add

the fringe. I'm going to use the gold sequins to make it.

All I'm going to do is make a shape

that's kind of like

this. Almost diamond-shaped but not.

You'll see when I draw it out.

And a small section

of the center of that shape is going to be make in black

sequins. The other part

is going to be made in gold sequins.

I have cut out all of

the pieces that I will need

to create the fringe on the dress.

When I cut it (for the black one at least), I'm going to be following

the thread lines that are... like, the little lines of thread

to cut it.

Except this one is slightly at an angle so it might be a little bit trickier.

I'll probably put a teeny bit

(or tiny dab) of glue on

on the ends. Just to keep all the sequins strung.

For the gold fabric, it's got just this

zig-zag pattern it's sewn with. But it

seems to stay on fairly well, even when cut.

Like this. I tested it out

and not too many sequins fell off. Like these are all stuck.

I'll probably go back through

and add dabs

of glue to anywhere that looks like it might need it. But

so far this is okay.

Right now, I'm going to focus on sewing it onto the dress.

I have sewn on

the fringe part to the diamond.

Obviously, they aren't going to sit too pretty right away. So

I'm going to go ahead and

instead of just having it sit like this

and hoping it stays, I'm going to pin all of this down,

then go along and stitch all this part. So all of these

edges are guaranteed to sit

like this

rather then risk sticking out.

I cut off all of these loose

thread and trimmed some of the excess fabric off

and got that as a result!

Everything is sewn down flat. I'm

go tack this onto my mannequin

and start cutting the fringe.

04 - Cartoon Ball tutorial (part 1 w/ subs) - Duration: 9:49.

Hi, everyone. That's our fourth exercise. We're going to make a cartoon ball,

understanding the scale. First: I check if maya is 24 fps. I'll work with the graph at the bottom.

We can work with graph editor the way we want. In other words, you can put its window anywhere

I can click here and adjust the window. Let's test it.

I'll change the view to side. It's like working with 2D animation.

What I have here: first, I want to make this ball squash and stretch, then go to the other side. That's it.

I'm not working with any rig, but the mesh itself.

I press "E" to work with scale. I need to change the pivot point (I adjust my axis visualization with "+" and "-").

If I press "insert", I can change the pivot point. Let's put it at the bottom, so the ball will squash from the bottom

I'm telling maya: That's my point to scale my ball. It's like if somethe was holding

First: the ball start at frame 1 (I press "S"), then frame 12 I squash it.

You have to be careful: adjust both vertical and horizontal scales to compensate the mass.

Lesson number 1: if I want to make it explosive (so, really fast!), I need to put few key frames

Remember our first tutorial: fewer frames = fast movement.

I'll test this way: squash at 12 and stretch at frame 13.

Now, I rotate it. We have only frames 1, 12 and 13. The time going up is equal to going down.

I set a keyframe at frame 37 (the ball will be at the top in frame 25), and now I'm just putting the extremes: I set

In frame 25, I put it at the top and make it "normal" again.

The ball will squash again, at frame 38. I can compare to the previous squash.

I rotate it to 0. It goes up and down. I'll adjust a time for the ball to go back to normal.

Now, we have this animation. It's not great.

I have two axis here: translate Y and translate Z. Let's see them in graph editor, break tangents and adjust.

Middle mouse button + W, I'm trying to mirror both sides of the curve. When I press "play", that's a problem.

The ball is "fighting" against a "resistence force". Something is holding it. Let's see translate Z

I notice there is a keyframe in the middle (I delete it). I set linear in the graph. Why? Because the movement

of the ball starts sudden, that's what our ball want and arrive at the end sudden, too.

I hit play and see that the movement is getting better. Can I adjust more? Yeah.

I'll change the height. The ball stretches much more compared to the height.

If I change the keyframe's value, I NEED to adjust the tangents, too.

Now, we see it great. In this case, our ball has life! On the previous tutorial, we were working with "realistic"

motion, but now, our ball gets energy enough to impulse itself up and down.
