Youtube daily report Feb 17 2018

The real difference is the fact that "motors" run on electricity, while "engines" run on

combustion.

However, many people interchange the usage of these words: So an engine is a specific

type of motor.

That's why it is correct to speak of a motorboat, or a motorcar, even if the boat or car is

clearly powered by combustion.

In this video I will go to show you difference between Motor and Engine.

Woodturning A Tai Chi Exercise Ball - Duration: 8:38.

Hi, Alan Stratton, from As Wood Turns.

(www.AsWoodTurns.com) A couple of weeks ago, a fellow saw one of

my videos where I turned a ball of sphere and said, "Hey, can you make me a Tai Chi

ball about eight inches in diameter.

I said no.

that's a lot of work.

I show people how to do it.

But, I decided to make one anyway to show you how to make a big ball or sphere on the

lathe.

This one is solid oak laminated together and turned as one block to this Tai Chi ball.

How they use it, I do not know.

It's way too heavy for me.

But it is a nice big ball.

Let's turn this Tai Chi ball.

For this project I laminated pieces of dry oak until I had a block of wood a little over

8 by 8 by 8 inches.

The ends were uneven but the block is so heavy and awkward, I did not want to try to saw

it.

Instead I used the drill press to bore a flat at the center of each end.

Now the spur center and live center can seat firmly to the wood.

Now to lift this heavy block of wood to mount it to the lathe.

Fortunately, the drill bit left good points for the centers to fall into.

Now the task is to rough out the oak before trimming the ends.

Then I'm marking out the projection of an octagon onto the surface.

For an 8" diameter, each side is 3.314".

So I'm laying out the center at 4", then 1.657" out from the middle for this side

of 3.314" and the full 8" length.

I did the math and made a spreadsheet for octagons in 1/8" increments of diameter.

Next I'm reducing the extra length down to a diameter of 3.314 the size of the end

side.

I'll do this on both ends.

I'm using a bedan and a parting tool.

I still need a lot of practice with the bedan.

Then I can cut a 45 degree side between the end diameter and the mark on the side.

This is not a precise cut but it helps me in shaping a sphere of this size.

Same process for the other end.

Now I can bisect each side and cut new flats thus making my octagon into a sixteen agon.

The sixteen agon does not have to be finished since it is only a guide.

I can now round off the points into the sphere.

I'm also using an idea from Julio Marcolongo.

This is a disk with a hole in the middle I can move over the surface.

If I see gaps, they are next to a ridge and I need to cut it out.

My disk should be bigger for this size of ball.

Now for the first shift.

I've marked an equator line on the ball.

Then put a cup faceplate on the headstock and another threaded cup faceplate on the

live center.

The trick is to center the ball in the cup when the ball is not yet uniform.

I sawed off the ends with a hand saw.

Next the trick is to scrape off the bumps while watching the ghost image at the top

edge of the ball.

I started with a square carbide cutter.

The ball only jumped off the lathe once here.

I took this opportunity to shift the ball.

I switched to shear scraping with a gouge.

This seems to work better for me.

It seems to put a lot less pressure on the ball.

Again work the ghost away.

It's hard to center a ball of this size but it is still working.

This process takes at least two shifts after the first turning, and sometimes more if I

don't get it right.

I really like this process for spheres: no expensive special purpose tool and no ticky

jam chuck.

All I need are cup faceplates and standard tools.

On smaller balls, I use a rubber stopper on the live center instead of a threaded cup

faceplate for the tail stock.

I had to treat some cracks with CA glue and let it harden.

To power sand the ball, I used the same process: Sand, Shift, Sand, Shift, Sand, Change Grit,

repeat, change grit.

You get the picture.

I decided to sign the ball with only my initials and the year with the pyrography pen.

Finally, I decide to give the ball a bath with walnut oil.

I put it in a large stainless bowl, poured walnut oil over it, then wet a towel with

oil and finished its oil bath.

My Tai Chi ball weighs seven pounds and is about 8 inches diameter.

I don't know Tai Chi so why anyone would want to exercise with this big, heavy ball

is beyond me.

I made this ball mainly to prove to myself that I can turn a ball of this size.

No, I'm not selling them.

I'm thinking I should make another this size but much lighter.

Stay tuned for that.

As for exercise, yoga plus some other exercises are good enough for me.

That's all for this big Tai Chi ball.

Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe on my website and tell your friends.

Please wear your full face shield – you'll thank me later.

I am Alan Stratton from As Wood Turns dot com.

Come back next week for a new woodturning video.

Acting secrets for a strong, dynamic voice - Duration: 8:20.

Enter from stage left. On the stage, that is the left. It's from the actor's point of

view. That's my left, that is my right. This is downstage, because traditionally you would

be going down the stage and that is upstage, so I just appeared from stage left. Benjamin,

what are you talking about? Get to the point.

Hello. Welcome back to engVid. This is a lesson to help you get your voice from your body.

That's right, your body is an instrument like a violin, so we need to get the body ready

to produce sound, just as you would warm up to play an instrument. How do we do that?

Well, I picked up a few tips from my time as an actor, I'm going to be sharing some

of these with you now.

The main thing is you've got to be physical, you've got to be really in your body, you've

got to be present to it, you've got to know how your body feels for good sound to come

out. Okay. So, I'm just going to talk you through how I would get ready if I was about

to go on stage. This isn't something you're going to do on a tube on an underground metro

line, but if you're getting ready to do a presentation in a hotel, staying somewhere,

and you've got some time to kill, then play around, do something like what I'm going to

be doing now.

So, I'm going to be doing some yoga poses, so that's why I'm going to take my shoes and

socks off. No, I'm not a yoga teacher, although I have taught children yoga before, which

was a good chat-up line when I met my wife; she thought that was good. So, okay. So I'm

just going to start by just going, jump like that. Huh, huh. Ruh. Ahhh. Awh. Shaking out

a bit, getting my arms around a bit. Ah. And I'm going to go straight into a famous method

acting vocal warmup. So, this is about getting tension out of your body, and as I've just

messed my mobile phone, I've got quite a lot of tension in me right now, so it should be

good. Okay, so I'm sat down. Okay. And we're starting from the head down to the feet. Okay?

So, what you're doing is you're making circular movements. You have to close your eyes. And

where you feel a little bit tense, you release the tension with a: "Hah!" Okay? So I'm...

Just watch, and we'll talk about it in a sec. Ahhhhhh. Hah. Hah. Hah. Ahhhhhh. What I'm

trying to do is... You're just feeling where you want to move, so you can roll your head,

you can roll your shoulders, you can roll your middle, your groin, you can roll your

legs, you can stretch out here, you can stamp, you can really get into your body. Ahhhh.

Hah. Hah. Hah. Ahhhhh. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh... Hah. Hah. Hah. Ahhhhhhhh. Hah. Hah. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Hah. Ahhhhhhhh. Hah. Now, I'm not going to, sort of, be totally self-indulgent. You should

do this for about 20 minutes. People do it from 20 minutes anyway up to an hour, and

you will feel your voice change after you do the exercise for longer and longer. I'd

love to carry on doing it now, but you might just sit there, going: "Uh, Benjamin, you

okay?" Okay? So that is an exercise to do over a space of time. Shut the door, turn

your phone off, or just smash it like me, and you won't be interrupted. Okay.

Next we're going to do a bit of yoga, so don't know if you know a sun salutation, hello to

the sun. Okay? You probably do. You can probably do it better than me. Hands together like

this, like they're in prayer, okay? And then we're going to go up, and then down. Okay?

So... Probably doing in totally the wrong order, but there we are. And now we're sort

of going down, we're going up, and then we're going to Downward Dog. My 18-month old baby

can do this, so you can, too. That foot up, that foot up. Ah. Wah. Ah. So you do it on

the right, now you do it on the left. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. So, one set is when you go with

your right and then your left. You want to be looking at doing it about 12 sets, continuously,

get into a real rhythm of doing it. Ready for the next one?

Okay, so I'm looking forward and I'm going to spin around, clocking you each time. One,

two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. I would go around for 21 times, but I haven't

practiced this in quite a long time and I'll probably knock something over. Okay? And now

I'm going to... Sorry. I need to take two big breaths. Ah. [Inhales]. Hah.

Next exercise: Kneeling down like this. Ah. Ah. Ah. So you're leaning back, you've got

your hands on your butt... Bum, you're just going back like that. Okay? Now, I feel like...

I'm just listening to my body. I'm trying to listen to my body to feel what it needs

to do. I need to strengthen, I really want to use my muscles, so I'm going to go down

into plank pose. Okay? And I'm resting on my forearms, trying to be as straight as you

possibly can. Can you do that for a couple of minutes? Go for as long as you can. Strengthen

your core. Okay. Not going to do it for two minutes now because it'd be boring. I'm going

to show you... Woo, side plank there. So try to do that for as long as you can; nice, straight

line. Let's go the other side, there we are. Do that for some time. Do some push-ups. Okay.

Again, I'm not going to show off or bore you by doing loads, but there we are. Okay. I'm

centering myself again. Okay. Maybe imagine some earth energy coming up from the earth,

coming up through my feet and going back down into the earth.

Checking in with myself: How am I feeling? Hah. Little bit stiller, a little bit calmer.

If I feel I still have tension, I'd go back onto that chair, and I'd carry on with that

method acting exercise. Okay, I'm not saying I'm a method actor, but that's just one exercise

I like from their school of thought.

Okay, what I'm saying to you is: Our voice comes from our body. Okay? So let's not forget

about it. In today's age with emails, computers, it's very easy to forget about our body. But

if you want to have a great voice, it's important to use it, because your sound reflects your

relationship with your body. Until next time, it's been a real pleasure. See ya in the next video.

Parent says school disregarded her religious beliefs on transgenderism - Duration: 3:08.

And we were there at Rocklin Academy at the beginning of Gateway. We were there.

My husband helped set up tables and carried millions of chairs up the stairs.

And like other families, intended to be there, we were there

every week volunteering.

We loved the school and we were invested in loved the school.

And for me it was the fact that they couldn't tell me what happened to my child in her classroom

that day and that we asked.. the day of kindergarten graduation was just a day later. We asked

the teacher what happened

and she told us one story.

We had a meeting with the principal and they told us a different story.

And we asked the parent of the child that had this transition and she told us a different story.

It was a mess.

And eventually, I had every intention of keeping my child there... my two children.

I thought that they would take my religious beliefs, my...

I mean I am part of the public, right? I thought they would take those into consideration

and instead they swept us aside like we were trash.

Like we have plenty of children on the wait list, if you are not going to comply with what

we want to do and say to your kindergartner... who was very confused...

All I would have wanted was the chance to talk to her ahead of time.

It wasn't that I ...

I respect everyone's views on this and I luckly my child was raised to be compassionate and

loving and she reacted that way to this child. And in the classroom said that there were

children that were laughing and so she included her and brought her over and played with her.

And I was so grateful that she had that, but it was because of what we taught her at home

beforehand, not because we knew that this situation was going to happen to her, but

I wouldn't have like the opportunity to speak to her beforehand, to say, "this is what is

going to happen in class and this is to help prepare you."

I love the policy. I think it will help prevent something like this from happening again or

at least give the parents an opportunity. We want to help. We want to be a partner in

our children's education, but this was not giving us the chance to do that. This was

something that was sprung on our children at an age I don't think was appropriate, at

least without some parent guidance ahead of time. Thank you.

What prompted John Cerabino to cosplay as Gary Oak? (Anime Milwaukee 2018) - Duration: 2:29.

Steven: And you did cosplay once as Gary Oak from Pokemon-how did that come about, and

anything in particular you want to mention about that costume? John: He's my

favorite Pokemon character because he's, like, if you follow the Pokemon show like

Ash is the worst protagonist of all time, because he doesn't-he sets out to be a

Pokemon master, and then he catches like five. Half of them he doesn't even catch he just

befriends, which I think is cool, you know, it's cute,

but Gary Oak was the man. Gary Oak got all the gym badges first, he had like the

best team, he had the bigger...the bigger Krabby than Ash, you know, Gary Oak that

was-that was the man. He was so good at training Pokemon that he had to move on

to being a researcher, and I thought I was like this is the guy who should be

the main character. This guy's got a...he's like 14 years old and he's got a

convertible full of cheerleaders. I wanna be that guy. So, that was a...I always thought he

was the coolest, and I love Pokemon you know, Pokemon was another game that I

had played like since my childhood, like all the time. Pokemon Blue Version.

That was the one I played-I didn't play Red. I played Blue Version

because it had Blastoise on it.

Steven: And, the costume itself-anything in particular? Was that relatively

straightforward when you're doing someone who is ostensibly kind of a

supposed to be a normal person-type character? John: Yeah, it's...I love costumes like

that, because it's you can Amazon most of it. For Gary all I had to make was the

necklace, strapping on the boots, and then he has like a an orange bias at the

bottom of his shirt, but for that one I made his badge case where

he has all...he has 12 badges in a region that only has eight, so I have the badge

case open up and it had 12 badges. I thought that was [???], and then his wig

was...he's got a very big anime hairstyle which was, you know took a

little time-the style, but it's deceptively simple and simple cosplays

can be harder because if you have a complex cosplay and you miss a few

details, no one's gonna notice unless they're really

nitpicking you, but if you have a simple cosplay and you miss a few details, it's

gonna be like very glaringly obvious. So, you know you want to pay closer

attention to those simple ones.

Motor vs Engine - Difference Between Engine and Motor - Duration: 1:49.

Naul - Baby Funk Reaction - Duration: 8:28.

Beba: Oh my god Eli: OH MY GOD!

Jesus lord

안녕!! (Annyeong!!) Hola!! Hello!!

こんにちわ!! (Kon'nichiwa!!)

Eli: I was about to say I though you were going to forget Beba: No, I said x2

Today we're going to react to Naul's new song

And it's called 'Baby Funk' so let's start

I hope this is a happy song

One~ Two~ Three!!

Eli: If it's not, it's okay Beba: I don't want to cry

Naul~

Eli: OMG Beba: Okay

It reminds me of...

She's so into it

Of course that would be me in my room

Dancing like a crazy person

The house looks like they're in the U.S

The funny thing is that I think I have so much charisma in my room

Beba: dance Eli: Aye~

Is the song in English?

I know right

Beba: We're watching the right video right? Eli: we are x2

(He started to sing in Korean 😅)

I liked that x2

I love it x2 is so funky

Well it's called 'Baby funk' so...

Eli: That's true Beba: What does it reminds me of?

To somehting

Lionel Richie would sing

Eli: Lionel Richie or maybe... Beba: it does remind me to a western song

What's his name...

Did you her that?

Is that how you dance in your room?

I do, I get into it

This is going to be my new jam

Eli: I'll probably dance to it in my room Beba: I bet

Beba: I alarde have the... Eli: STEVIE WONDER! like I said before Lionel Richie

A little bit of Michael Jackson

Yes it does

It reminds us to something they would do

I love this song

I can't believe his voic... *Sigh okay i'lll say it t the end

And you're right about the houses looking like they are in the U.S

I also laugh alone like a crazy person

It looks as if they were in a

Dance battle

Beba: but they are not in the same pla... Eli: In the same place

Beba: She's so motivated Eli: She is. She won

She definitely did

Eli: No x3 Both: He's a good dancer too

Did you see those dance moves

It's as if the rhythm gets inside of him

Beba: As is the music runs through his body Eli: I know x2

This song is so chill, good for when you're at your room

Cleaning while listening to this song and dancing around

that's so cool

Are the ones in the pictures them when they were little?

I think so

It's ending

is that a teaser for a new song (It was not)

It might be old

Isn't he the one from "I'm not a robot"

Is that him?

Harry (Seung ho)

Beba: It went away Eli: Anyways

'Baby funk' wow~ I liked it

What I wanted to say earlier

The other song we have reacted so far from him

They are really heartfelt and sad right

But in this song

I don't know his voice went so well with this kind of song

Eli: It was so funky Beba: IT's like he causing anything Eli: he's so versatile that

I believe he truly is and he does any genre really well

It doesn't matter if it's a ballad or OST

Which are really powerful an gives goosebumps

But then you have a song like this which is a bit more

Funky/upbeat

he does it well too I don't know

Beba: It really made you want to dance Eli: Yes, and his voice is so smooth

Beba: not everybody has the ability to do that Eli: Yeah

Eli: I like it Beba: He's super talented I liked it too

I loved it x2

It was very funky very fun to listen to

Eli: I'm going to add it to my playlist Beba: me too Eli: I loved it

美食台 | 讚不絕口的賀年糕點,50年前老秘方! - Duration: 5:38.

Yongchun, Fujian

Is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian

It has a history of a thousand years

And it has kept its ancient charm

Together with the arcade buildings, timeless and everlasting

The most famous traditional candy in Yongchun

Is Orange Cake

This cake

Is a necessary "bride candy" at local weddings

It is also a common tribute of southern Fujian locals

The most known pastry cook Wang Yongcheng in Dapu

Will make orange cakes before the Spring Festival every year

And he has been making it the same way every time since 40 years ago when he was an apprentice

He makes it from scratch

All by himself

He uses dry-grind sticky rice powder

First soak sticky rice for half a day

Then transfer it to a string bag and hang it up

After it drains, grind it

Spread the powder on a working surface and make a well in middle

Meanwhile boil water in a big pot

Next step is making a dough

Don't use cold water, or it will be too sticky

So he adds boiling water in batches

Make it flaky and combine together

Keep kneading to give it strength

That's what is special about Yongchun orange cake

It's glutinous and chewy

To the same end

He boils it instead of steaming

Before boiling, flatten the dough with a rolling pin

Cut it into pieces

Press them

And boil until they surface

Then fish them out

While they are still warm

Wang clean the pot for the decoction of sugar

Heat sugar until it melts

Stir once in a while in case it sticks to the pan

Cook until it thickens

Skilled Wang would check the consistency of the sugar

With his index finger and thumb

Once there are strings in between his fingers

It tells him that he can toss in the dough pieces

The pieces and sugar must be well combined

Cook for 10 minutes for it to absorb the taste

When the syrup is almost dry 48 00:03:24,160 --> 00:03:26,080 Pound everything together with a wood stick

This stick is tailored for making orange cakes

Either stirring or pounding

It's a good tool

We add some Yongchun Mountain Gold Pea Candy while pounding

It's a necessary ingredient in traditional orange cakes

Locals call it "kumquat"

This wild fruit growing in mountains has a special tangerine smell

The taste is amazing

As it's rather pricy

You can rarely see it in orange cakes sold in markets

Keep pounding until everything combines into a creamy white dough

This is a rough semi-finished product

Remove it from the pan and let it cool

After it cools

Coat it in cooked sticky rice powder

This powder keeps them from sticking to each other

As well as to your teeth

Then cut into cubes

The snow-white, tender and chewy orange cakes are done

Just like sticky rice

Peanut constitutes an important part in southern Fujian people's dinning

Snacks and cakes are mostly garnished with peanuts

Wang use cooked peanut powder

In the place of cooked sticky rice powder

The rich aroma

Is quite mouthwatering

Southern Fujian people like names with a good meaning

Such as Yongchun, which means forever spring

And they attach these best wishes to their food

Eat orange cakes during the Spring festival

You will have good luck in the coming year

Chelsea Threatens Sarah & Women Working In WH To 'Quit Or Else,' She Gets Brutal Surprise - Duration: 17:59.

Chelsea Threatens Sarah & Women Working In WH To 'Quit Or Else,' She Gets Brutal

Surprise

Chelsea Handler's antics are bordering on a total nervous breakdown as she turned her

attention to the women working for the Trump administration, like Sarah Sanders and Kellyanne

Conway.

The canned Netflix celebrity went too far when she accused them of being horrible, disgusting

mothers, and then threatened them, saying, "quit or else," which caused Handler to

get butchered by a brutal surprise.

You'll love this.

Chelsea Handler (left), Sarah Sanders (right) (Photo Credit: YouTube/Screengrabs)

Ever since Chelsea Handler got fired from her Netflix gig, she has been on a total tirade,

obsessing on President Donald Trump and all things connected to the White House administration.

She has made White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders a special target, even before

Handler got fired, mocking and degrading Sanders by hiring an obese actress to be the press

secretary in several videos.

In December, Page Six reported, "The video – a promotion for Handler's Netflix series

– is a fake step-by-step makeup tutorial, featuring comedy writer Fortune Feimster as

Sanders.

Each step of the fake tutorial is accompanied by crude jokes that ridicule – among other

things – Sanders' face, Trump, and Republicans."

Handler's sick obsession has progressed, and to say the former comedian is not too

bright would be an understatement.

So, she vowed to devote all her time to the "resist Trump" movement, and she is easily

swayed by the propaganda put out by the fake news.

Handler actually believes all the bullcrap and gets super agitated, much like Rosie O'Donnell.

It's Trump Derangement Syndrome at its worst.

So, keeping that in mind, poor deluded Chelsea read an article about an interview between

two of the biggest Trump haters around.

MSNBC's Joy Reid interviewed political commentator Anushay Hossain, and the vile, vulgar, rhetoric

these two shrews were cooking up about the women who work in the Trump White House was

off the chart.

Yet, Handler adopted it as facts and decided to make it known to the world.

First, the deranged Handler tweeted, "Any women that cares (sic) about the fundamental

rights of other women should leave the WH.

We have terrible representation during a time when women are finally using their voices

to protect and honor each other.

#timesuponwomenwhodonothing."

to protect and honor each other.

#timesuponwomenwhodonothing.

— Chelsea Handler (@chelseahandler) February 12, 2018

As you can see, Chelsea also attached the article we mentioned, making the subject matter

of that article her "proof" that all women working for President Trump in the White House

need to quit now.

So, what was it in that interview between knucklehead Joy Reid and Anushay Hossain that

Chelsea Handler decided to put Sarah Sanders, Kellyanne Conway, and every other woman in

the White House on notice?

"You guys have stuck by him [Trump] through pedophilia, through sexual assault, domestic

violence.

This is a human rights issue," Anushay Hossain ranted at the women working in the White House,

according to Raw Story.

"This president does not stand behind your gender.

This is not about partisan politics.

This is a dangerous message for women around the world.

GOP women, you owe it to women around the world, girls around the world to get out,"

she continued.

"I don't know how Kellyanne Conway looks at herself in the mirror," Hossain added.

"I don't usually pull this card but, as a mother, how do you look at your daughters

in the face?"

Wow.

This Anushay Hossain is a real piece of work, and Handler is her useful idiot.

Before Donald Trump won the election, Hossain already had a huge bias against him, writing

in the Huffington Post, "Hillary is the best candidate regardless of what happens

on the Republican side, whether Donald Trump gets the nomination or not, and consequently

ends the world as we know it.

America needs Hillary Clinton as President.

And my new year's resolution is to believe this will be the year we vote her in."

But, Chelsea Handler isn't off the hook just because she is brain damaged and refuses

to research topics for herself.

She still must answer to those Americans who find her spewing this vulgar propaganda horrendous,

and they let her have it on Twitter.

Jester Lee asked Handler, "If you were to be asked to join the WH would you or would

that be counterproductive to your hate campaign?

Where does it end?"

If you were to be asked to join the WH would you or would that be counter productive to

your hate campaign?

Where does it end?

— JesterLee (@LeeWestbury) February 13, 2018

Then, there are women who are peeved that Handler thinks she speaks for all women in

America and that any woman who is not pro-abortion, does not wear pink pussy hats, and is working

for Trump is somehow not women in power.

"Funny, you don't speak for the majority of women.

All the more reasons to keep women [in Trump's administration]," tweeted Debbie S.

Funny, you don't speak for the majority of women.

All the more reasons to keep women

— debbie s (@debsstar57) February 13, 2018

Then, there were those like Ronnie Wright, who asked Chelsea, "Are you really that

stupid?"

pic.twitter.com/SMCkxHdysH

— Ronnie Wright (@Lakota07) February 12, 2018

I'm afraid she is.

Chelsea Handler has lived a life of privilege and has no excuse to post such stupid crap

about really smart and accomplished women like Sarah Sanders and Kellyanne Conway.

These talking heads on MSNBC and CNN, who are women, should be ashamed of themselves,

throwing other women under the bus.

But, isn't that why they are proven to be liars?

Handler and the gurus she listens to all espouse "women's rights" until the women don't

agree with them politically.

Then, forget about it.

What a bunch of crap weasels these "progressive" women are, as they slither around in the swamp.

Thank God, President Donald Trump and the dedicated women who work for him are making

American great again.
